Carbon–phosphorus bond formation is of great importance in synthetic chemistry. A versatile strategy for the formation of carbon–phosphorus bonds involves the addition of phosphorus radicals to π-systems. However, the generation methods of phosphorus radicals are primarily restricted to homolytic cleavage of phosphorus–hydrogen bonds with excess peroxides or toxic metal salts as oxidants. Herein, we introduce a photoinduced palladium-catalyzed generation of phosphorus radicals using inexpensive and readily available Cl–phosphine oxides and Cl–phosphates as the phosphorus radical precursors. The key step for this strategy lies in the reductive activation of phosphorus–chloride bonds with the excited palladium complex under visible light irradiation. The involvement of phosphorus radicals has been evidenced by EPR spectroscopy and radical trapping experiments. Based on this strategy, both phosphinyl and phosphonyl groups could be regiospecifically incorporated into simple alkenes and heteroaromatic compounds via radical mediated carbon–phosphorus bond formation. The sliding base (SB) technique is an efficient and economical approach to mitigating seismic damage of low-rise buildings in rural areas. Based on the previous work on single-story SB structures, this study investigates the earthquake forces acting on multistory SB structures. Response history analyses of SB structures subjected to three-component earthquake excitations were performed. The computed results indicate that the increase in the number of stories tends to reduce the mean value of the peak base shear but has little influence on the coefficient of variation of the peak base shear. The peak story shears of a multistory SB structure subjected to an earthquake ground motion are reached at different time instants for different stories. The distributions of the equivalent lateral forces for SB structures with different story numbers follow the same trend, and the equivalent lateral forces tend to concentrate at the upper floors as the normalized peak ground acceleration and mass ratio increase. Queue length is a crucial measurement of traffic signal control at urban intersections. Conventional queue length estimation methods mostly still rely on fixed detectors. The development of connected vehicles (CV) provides massive amounts of vehicle trajectory data, and the queue length estimation based on CV data has received considerable attention in recent years. However, most existing CV-based methods require the prior knowledge of the penetration rate of CV and vehicle arrivals, but the estimation of these prior distributions has not been well studied. To address this issue, this paper proposes a cycle-based queue length estimation method under partially connected vehicle (CV) environment, with the prior vehicle arrivals being unknown. The empirical Bayes method is adopted to estimate the arrival rate by leveraging the observed queued CV information such as the number and positions. The hyperparameter estimation problem of the prior distribution is solved by the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method. To validate the proposed queue length estimation method, a simulation environment with partially connected vehicles is established using VISSIM and Python for data generating. To investigate the effect of active immunisation with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) on the reproductive function in male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats, 24 42-day-old rats were randomly assigned to treatment with GnRH6-MAP, GnRH-OVA, a surgical castration group, and a blank control group. Each rat in the treatment groups was intramuscularly injected at 6, 8, and 10 weeks of age. The serum concentrations of testosterone (T), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinising hormone (LH), and anti-GnRH antibodies were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. The results showed that active immunisation with recombinant GnRH6-MBP and GnRH-OVA significantly increased the serum levels of anti-GnRH antibodies and reduced the serum concentrations of testosterone compared to the black control. Eight weeks after immunisation, the rats' testes were surgically removed for morphological evaluation, showing atrophy of the convoluted vasculature, relative emptying of the lumen, and insignificant differentiation of spermatogonial cells, which were increased in weight and volume compared with the blank control group. These findings indicated that active immunisation with GnRH can lead to testicular atrophy and reduce gonadal hormone concentrations, suggesting that GnRH is a highly effective immunogen. As a crucial class of functional molecules in organosilicon chemistry, silanols are found valuable applications in the fields of modern science and will be a potentially powerful framework for biologically active compounds or functional materials. It has witnessed an increasing demand for non‐natural organosilanols, as well as the progress in the synthesis of these structural features. From the classic preparative methods to the catalytic selective oxidation of hydrosilanes, electrochemical hydrolysis of hydrosilanes, and then the construction of the most challenging silicon‐stereogenic silanols. This review summarized the progress in the catalyzed synthesis of silanols via hydroxylation of hydrosilanes in the last decade, with a particular emphasis on the latest elegant developments in the desymmetrization strategy for the enantioselective synthesis of silicon‐stereogenic silanols from dihydrosilanes.
