As urban residents demand higher travel quality, vehicle dispatch has become a critical component of online ride-hailing services. However, current vehicle dispatch systems struggle to navigate the complexities of urban traffic dynamics, including unpredictable traffic conditions, diverse driver behaviors, and fluctuating supply and demand patterns. These challenges have resulted in travel difficulties for passengers in certain areas, while many drivers in other areas are unable to secure orders, leading to a decline in the overall quality of urban transportation services. To address these issues, this paper introduces GARLIC: a framework of GPT-Augmented Reinforcement Learning with Intelligent Control for vehicle dispatching. GARLIC utilizes multiview graphs to capture hierarchical traffic states, and learns a dynamic reward function that accounts for individual driving behaviors. The framework further integrates a GPT model trained with a custom loss function to enable high-precision predictions and optimize dispatching policies in real-world scenarios. Experiments conducted on two real-world datasets demonstrate that GARLIC effectively aligns with driver behaviors while reducing the empty load rate of vehicles.

The Human Mobility Signature Identification (HuMID) problem stands as a fundamental task within the realm of driving style representation, dedicated to discerning latent driving behaviors and preferences from diverse driver trajectories for driver identification. Its solutions hold significant implications across various domains (e.g., ride-hailing, insurance), wherein their application serves to safeguard users and mitigate potential fraudulent activities. Present HuMID solutions often exhibit limitations in adaptability when confronted with lengthy trajectories, consequently incurring substantial computational overhead. Furthermore, their inability to effectively extract crucial local information further impedes their performance. To address this problem, we propose a Siamese Multiple Attention Temporal Convolutional Network (Siamese MA-TCN) to capitalize on the strengths of both TCN architecture and multi-head self-attention, enabling the proficient extraction of both local and long-term dependencies. Additionally, we devise a novel attention mechanism tailored for the efficient aggregation of multi-scale representations derived from our model. Experimental evaluations conducted on two real-world taxi trajectory datasets reveal that our proposed model effectively extracts both local key information and long-term dependencies. Machine learning models offer the capability to forecast future energy production or consumption and infer essential unknown variables from existing data. However, legal and policy constraints within specific energy sectors render the data sensitive, presenting technical hurdles in utilizing data from diverse sources. Therefore, we propose adopting a Swarm Learning (SL) scheme, which replaces the centralized server with a blockchain-based distributed network to address the security and privacy issues inherent in Federated Learning (FL)'s centralized architecture. Within this distributed Collaborative Learning framework, each participating organization governs nodes for inter-organizational communication. Devices from various organizations utilize smart contracts for parameter uploading and retrieval. Consensus mechanism ensures distributed consistency throughout the learning process, guarantees the transparent trustworthiness and immutability of parameters on-chain. The efficacy of the proposed framework is substantiated across three real-world energy series modeling scenarios with superior performance compared to Local Learning approaches, simultaneously emphasizing enhanced data security and privacy over Centralized Learning and FL method. Notably, as the number of data volume and the count of local epochs increases within a threshold, there is an improvement in model performance accompanied by a reduction in the variance of performance errors. Consequently, this leads to an increased stability and reliability in the outcomes produced by the model.

Worldwide geolocalization aims to locate the precise location at the coordinate level of photos taken anywhere on the Earth. It is very challenging due to 1) the difficulty of capturing subtle location-aware visual semantics, and 2) the heterogeneous geographical distribution of image data. As a result, existing studies have clear limitations when scaled to a worldwide context. They may easily confuse distant images with similar visual contents, or cannot adapt to various locations worldwide with different amounts of relevant data. To resolve these limitations, we propose G3, a novel framework based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). In particular, G3 consists of three steps, i.e., Geo-alignment, Geo-diversification, and Geo-verification to optimize both retrieval and generation phases of worldwide geolocalization. During Geo-alignment, our solution jointly learns expressive multi-modal representations for images, GPS and textual descriptions, which allows us to capture location-aware semantics for retrieving nearby images for a given query. During Geo-diversification, we leverage a prompt ensembling method that is robust to inconsistent retrieval performance for different image queries. Finally, we combine both retrieved and generated GPS candidates in Geo-verification for location prediction. Experiments on two well-established datasets IM2GPS3k and YFCC4k verify the superiority of G3 compared to other state-of-the-art methods.

DNN-based watermarking methods are rapidly developing and delivering impressive performances. Recent advances achieve resolution-agnostic image watermarking by reducing the variant resolution watermarking problem to a fixed resolution watermarking problem. However, such a reduction process can potentially introduce artifacts and low robustness. To address this issue, we propose the first, to the best of our knowledge, Resolution-Agnostic Image WaterMarking (RAIMark) framework by watermarking the implicit neural representation (INR) of image. Unlike previous methods, our method does not rely on the previous reduction process by directly watermarking the continuous signal instead of image pixels, thus achieving resolution-agnostic watermarking. Precisely, given an arbitrary-resolution image, we fit an INR for the target image. As a continuous signal, such an INR can be sampled to obtain images with variant resolutions. Then, we quickly fine-tune the fitted INR to get a watermarked INR conditioned on a binary secret message. A pre-trained watermark decoder extracts the hidden message from any sampled images with arbitrary resolutions. By directly watermarking INR, we achieve resolution-agnostic watermarking with increased robustness. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms previous methods with significant improvements: averagely improved bit accuracy by 7%$\sim$29%. Generating trajectory data is among promising solutions to addressing privacy concerns, collection costs, and proprietary restrictions usually associated with human mobility analyses. However, existing trajectory generation methods are still in their infancy due to the inherent diversity and unpredictability of human activities, grappling with issues such as fidelity, flexibility, and generalizability. To overcome these obstacles, we propose ControlTraj, a Controllable Trajectory generation framework with the topology-constrained diffusion model. Distinct from prior approaches, ControlTraj utilizes a diffusion model to generate high-fidelity trajectories while integrating the structural constraints of road network topology to guide the geographical outcomes. Specifically, we develop a novel road segment autoencoder to extract fine-grained road segment embedding. The encoded features, along with trip attributes, are subsequently merged into the proposed geographic denoising UNet architecture, named GeoUNet, to synthesize geographic trajectories from white noise. Through experimentation across three real-world data settings, ControlTraj demonstrates its ability to produce human-directed, high-fidelity trajectory generation with adaptability to unexplored geographical contexts.

As AIGC has impacted our society profoundly in the past years, ethical issues have received tremendous attention. The most urgent one is the AIGC copyright dilemma, which can immensely stifle the development of AIGC and greatly cost the entire society. Given the complexity of AIGC copyright governance and the fact that no perfect solution currently exists, previous work advocated copyleft on AI governance but without substantive analysis. In this paper, we take a step further to explore the feasibility of copyleft to alleviate the AIGC copyright dilemma. We conduct a mixed-methods study from two aspects: qualitatively, we use a formal what-if analysis to clarify the dilemma and provide case studies to show the feasibility of copyleft; quantitatively, we perform a carefully designed survey to find out how the public feels about copylefting AIGC. The key findings include: a) people generally perceive the dilemma, b) they prefer to use authorized AIGC under loose restriction, and c) they are positive to copyleft in AIGC and willing to use it in the future., Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures

The signed distance field (SDF) represents 3D geometries in continuous function space. Due to its continuous nature, explicit 3D models (e.g., meshes) can be extracted from it at arbitrary resolution, which means losing the SDF is equivalent to losing the mesh. Recent research has shown meshes can also be extracted from SDF-enhanced neural radiance fields (NeRF). Such a signal raises an alarm that any implicit neural representation with SDF enhancement can extract the original mesh, which indicates identifying the SDF's intellectual property becomes an urgent issue. This paper proposes FuncMark, a robust and invisible watermarking method to protect the copyright of signed distance fields by leveraging analytic on-surface deformations to embed binary watermark messages. Such deformation can survive isosurfacing and thus be inherited by the extracted meshes for further watermark message decoding. Our method can recover the message with high-resolution meshes extracted from SDFs and detect the watermark even when mesh vertices are extremely sparse. Furthermore, our method is robust even when various distortions (including remeshing) are encountered. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our \tool significantly outperforms state-of-the-art approaches and the message is still detectable even when only 50 vertex samples are given.

Web-based AI image generation has become an innovative art form that can generate novel artworks with the rapid development of the diffusion model. However, this new technique brings potential copyright infringement risks as it may incorporate the existing artworks without the owners' consent. Copyright infringement quantification is the primary and challenging step towards AI-generated image copyright traceability. Previous work only focused on data attribution from the training data perspective, which is unsuitable for tracing and quantifying copyright infringement in practice because of the following reasons: (1) the training datasets are not always available in public; (2) the model provider is the responsible party, not the image. Motivated by this, in this paper, we propose CopyScope, a new framework to quantify the infringement of AI-generated images from the model level. We first rigorously identify pivotal components within the AI image generation pipeline. Then, we propose to take advantage of Fr\'echet Inception Distance (FID) to effectively capture the image similarity that fits human perception naturally. We further propose the FID-based Shapley algorithm to evaluate the infringement contribution among models. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our work not only reveals the intricacies of infringement quantification but also effectively depicts the infringing models quantitatively, thus promoting accountability in AI image-generation tasks.

Federated learning (FL) stands as a paradigmatic approach that facilitates model training across heterogeneous and diverse datasets originating from various data providers. However, conventional FLs fall short of achieving consistent performance, potentially leading to performance degradation for clients who are disadvantaged in data resources. Influenced by the Matthew effect, deploying a performance-imbalanced global model in applications further impedes the generation of high-quality data from disadvantaged clients, exacerbating the disparities in data resources among clients. In this work, we propose anti-Matthew fairness for the global model at the client level, requiring equal accuracy and equal decision bias across clients. To balance the trade-off between achieving anti-Matthew fairness and performance optimality, we formalize the anti-Matthew effect federated learning (anti-Matthew FL) as a multi-constrained multi-objectives optimization (MCMOO) problem and propose a three-stage multi-gradient descent algorithm to obtain the Pareto optimality. We theoretically analyze the convergence and time complexity of our proposed algorithms. Additionally, through extensive experimentation, we demonstrate that our proposed anti-Matthew FL outperforms other state-of-the-art FL algorithms in achieving a high-performance global model while effectively bridging performance gaps among clients. We hope this work provides valuable insights into the manifestation of the Matthew effect in FL and other decentralized learning scenarios and can contribute to designing fairer learning mechanisms, ultimately fostering societal welfare.

The goal of 3D mesh watermarking is to embed the message in 3D meshes that can withstand various attacks imperceptibly and reconstruct the message accurately from watermarked meshes. The watermarking algorithm is supposed to withstand multiple attacks, and the complexity should not grow significantly with the mesh size. Unfortunately, previous methods are less robust against attacks and lack of adaptability. In this paper, we propose a robust and adaptable deep 3D mesh watermarking Deep3DMark that leverages attention-based convolutions in watermarking tasks to embed binary messages in vertex distributions without texture assistance. Furthermore, our Deep3DMark exploits the property that simplified meshes inherit similar relations from the original ones, where the relation is the offset vector directed from one vertex to its neighbor. By doing so, our method can be trained on simplified meshes but remains effective on large size meshes (size adaptable) and unseen categories of meshes (geometry adaptable). Extensive experiments demonstrate our method remains efficient and effective even if the mesh size is 190x increased. Under mesh attacks, Deep3DMark achieves 10%~50% higher accuracy than traditional methods, and 2x higher SNR and 8% higher accuracy than previous DNN-based methods.

Robust watermarking tries to conceal information within a cover image/video imperceptibly that is resistant to various distortions. Recently, deep learning-based approaches for image watermarking have made significant advancements in robustness and invisibility. However, few studies focused on video watermarking using deep neural networks due to the high complexity and computational costs. Our paper aims to answer this research question: Can well-designed deep learning-based image watermarking be efficiently adapted to video watermarking? Our answer is positive. First, we revisit the workflow of deep learning-based watermarking methods that leads to a critical insight: temporal information in the video may be essential for general computer vision tasks but not for specific video watermarking. Inspired by this insight, we propose a method named ItoV for efficiently adapting deep learning-based Image watermarking to Video watermarking. Specifically, ItoV merges the temporal dimension of the video with the channel dimension to enable deep neural networks to treat videos as images. We further explore the effects of different convolutional blocks in video watermarking. We find that spatial convolution is the primary influential component in video watermarking and depthwise convolutions significantly reduce computational cost with negligible impact on performance. In addition, we propose a new frame loss to constrain that the watermark intensity in each video clip frame is consistent, significantly improving the invisibility. Extensive experiments show the superior performance of the adapted video watermarking method compared with the state-of-the-art methods on Kinetics-600 and Inter4K datasets, which demonstrate the efficacy of our method ItoV.

NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) have experienced an explosive growth and their record-breaking prices have been witnessed. Typically, the assets that NFTs represent are stored off-chain with a pointer, e.g., multi-hop URLs, due to the costly on-chain storage. Hence, this paper aims to answer the question: Is the NFT-to-Asset connection fragile? This paper makes a first step towards this end by characterizing NFT-to-Asset connections of 12,353 Ethereum NFT Contracts (6,234,141 NFTs in total) from three perspectives, storage, accessibility and duplication. In order to overcome challenges of affecting the measurement accuracy, e.g., IPFS instability and the changing availability of both IPFS and servers' data, we propose to leverage multiple gateways to enlarge the data coverage and extend a longer measurement period with non-trivial efforts. Results of our extensive study show that such connection is very fragile in practice. The loss, unavailability, or duplication of off-chain assets could render value of NFTs worthless. For instance, we find that assets of 25.24% of Ethereum NFT contracts are not accessible, and 21.48% of Ethereum NFT contracts include duplicated assets. Our work sheds light on the fragility along the NFT-to-Asset connection, which could help the NFT community to better enhance the trust of off-chain assets.

Image watermarking is a technique for hiding information into images that can withstand distortions while requiring the encoded image to be perceptually identical to the original image. Recent work based on deep neural networks (DNN) has achieved impressive progression in digital watermarking. Higher robustness under various distortions is the eternal pursuit of digital image watermarking approaches. In this paper, we propose DBMARK, a novel end-to-end digital image watermarking framework to deep boost the robustness of DNN-based image watermarking. The key novelty is the synergy of invertible neural networks (INN) and effective watermark features generation. The framework generates watermark features with redundancy and error correction ability through the effective neural network based message processor, synergized with the powerful information embedding and extraction abilities of INN to achieve higher robustness and invisibility. The powerful learning ability of neural networks enables the message processor to adapt to various distortions. In addition, we propose to embed the watermark information in the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain and design low-low (LL) sub-band loss to enhance invisibility. Extensive experiment results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed framework compared with the state-of-the-art ones under various distortions such as dropout, cropout, crop, Gaussian filter, and JPEG compression.

Payment channel is a class of techniques designed to solve the scalability problem of blockchain. By establishing channels off the blockchain to form payment channel networks (PCNs), users can make instant payments without interacting with the blockchain, avoiding the problems of long transaction consensus delays and high transaction fees. Recently, the optimization of PCNs has mainly focused on improving the network throughput via multi-path routing. However, the transaction's atomicity comes at a non-trivial cost for transaction completion latency that affects user experience in deadline-sensitive applications of PCNs. In this paper, we propose a new and systematic framework DPCN to consider the deadlines of transactions for payment channel networks while improving the success ratio of transactions. DPCN is enabled via a synergy of three components: (1) deadline-based dynamic transaction split mechanism that splits the transaction according to current network status and the transaction's deadline; (2) deadline-aware transaction scheduling that prioritizes near-deadline transactions; (3) deadline-aware transaction congestion avoidance algorithm, which uses a path window to balance transactions with different deadlines. Our extensive experiments show that compared with existing methods, DPCN can well meet the needs of transactions with different deadlines and ensure a higher success ratio for transactions in the payment channel networks.

This paper investigates the privacy leakage of smart speakers under an encrypted traffic analysis attack, referred to as voice command fingerprinting. In this attack, an adversary can eavesdrop both outgoing and incoming encrypted voice traffic of a smart speaker, and infers which voice command a user says over encrypted traffic. We first built an automatic voice traffic collection tool and collected two large-scale datasets on two smart speakers, Amazon Echo and Google Home. Then, we implemented proof-of-concept attacks by leveraging deep learning. Our experimental results over the two datasets indicate disturbing privacy concerns. Specifically, compared to 1% accuracy with random guess, our attacks can correctly infer voice commands over encrypted traffic with 92.89\% accuracy on Amazon Echo. Despite variances that human voices may cause on outgoing traffic, our proof-of-concept attacks remain effective even only leveraging incoming traffic (i.e., the traffic from the server). This is because the AI-based voice services running on the server side response commands in the same voice and with a deterministic or predictable manner in text, which leaves distinguishable pattern over encrypted traffic. We also built a proof-of-concept defense to obfuscate encrypted traffic. Our results show that the defense can effectively mitigate attack accuracy on Amazon Echo to 32.18%.
