Fritz Mohr, the dreamer whose dream of the 'category' thus led to the second analysis in his life—the first had taken place six months earlier—had understood right from the beginning how to associate freely and without tendency. It was surprising that Fritz produced no association to the remarkable use of the word 'category' in the form of a verb. The interpretation of the part of the dream about the form is therefore: Fritz pleads for a mild punishment, that is he has done or wished something that is forbidden, and which may be punishable. The "reverse language" is a special chapter in Fritz' life. The technique of this language is of some significance for the psychology of the Fritz and his brother. The dream, which faithfully mirrors the psychic situation, was analysed seven weeks after the dream of the 'category'. The dream analyses submitted here afford one an insight into the sexual life of boys during the latency-period.

Sigmund Freud's discovery that forgetting ideas is invariably motivated by some painful affect accompanying them suggests the correlated problem: how is it that repressed ideas re-enter consciousness at the end of a series of free associations? Is it possible that during the process of association a repressed idea loses its painful tone, or is it that the painful affect loses its quality as a motive for repression? The subject compensates himself, so to speak, before he reveals the fact which lowers his self-esteem. In some analyses the compensating thought does not form part of the chain of associations. In certain of these cases one can discover that it did come into consciousness, nevertheless, but was suppressed. In the author's opinion it is possible from a certain point of view to discriminate two different kinds of discounting process in the specific mechanism of the symptoms in schizophrenic diseases and paranoiac diseases.

Neste trabalho estudamos o problema relacionado à construção de uma teoria quântica para uma partícula, se movendo não relativisticamente num espaço curvo, tratado como uma subvariedade de outro Euclideano, talvez dando maior ênfase ao aspecto geométrico envolvido nesta abordagem, uma vez que os demais trabalhos relacionados ao mesmo tema não o fazem. Além de mostrarmos que o consequente uso de uma teoria de sistemas vinculados não contribui para remover as ambiguidades da formulação quântica, relacionados diretamente ao ordenamento de operadores, também apresentamos, através de uma quantização específica feita sob a prescrição de Dirac, elementos que permitem não apenas construir um formalismo quântico covariante, mas também liberto de qualquer correção quântica. Em adição, fazemos alguns comentários gerais no que se refere às outras abordagens clássicas possíveis para o mesmo problema, intentando construir teorias quânticas associadas ao sistema sob consideração. In this work we study the problem related to the construction of a quantum theory for a particle, moving non-relativistically in a curved space, treated as submanifold of the other Euclidean, maybe putting more emphasis on the geometric aspect envolved in this approach, since the rest of the works related to the subject do not. Besides showing that the consequent use of a theory of constrained systems not contributes for remove the ambiguities in the quantum formulation, related directly to the ordering of operators, we also showing, through a specific quantization made in the prescription of Dirac, elements that offers resources not only to construct a covariant quantum formalism, but also free from any quantum correction. In addition, we make some general comments in relation to other classical approaches possible for the same problem, attempting to build quantum theories associated with the system under consideration.

Estudamos a álgebra de comparação do círculo, descrevemos o espaço de Gelfand do seu quociente pelos compactos e damos uma fórmula para o índice dos seus operadores de Fredholm. Depois generalizamos o resultado para as matrizes com elementos na álgebra de comparação e damos uma aplicação para operadores diferenciais no círculo. We study the comparison algebra on the circle, we describe the Gelfand space of its quotient by the compacts and we give a formula to compute the index of its Fredholm operators. After that, we generalize the result to the matrices with entries in the comparison algebra and give an application to differential opperators in the circle.

Neste trabalho, provamos um teorema de imersões isométricas em variedades Lorentzianas homogêneas tridimensionais, usando a teoria de G- estruturas. Tais variedades são aquelas consideradas na classificação das 3- variedades Lorentzianas homogêneas de Dumitrescu e Zeghib. Provamos também um teorema de rigidez isométrica para hipersuperfícies em variedades semi-Riemannianas com G-estrutura infinitesimalmente homogêneas. No caso particular em que o ambiente são variedades semi-Riemannianas dadas por produto de uma forma espacial por R ou variedades Riemannianas homogêneas tridimensionais, provamos o mesmo teorema de rigidez isométrica, porém com hipóteses mais fracas. In this work we prove an isometric embedding theorem in homogeneous Lorentzian manifolds of dimension 3, that were recently classified by Dumitrescu and Zeghib in [11]. We also prove a rigidity result of isometric embeddings of hypersurfaces in semi-Riemannian manifolds endowed with an infinitesimally homogeneous G-structure. In the special case that the semi-Riemannian manifolds are produtcs of the type Q^n_cxR, or Riemannian homogeneous 3-manifolds, the result is proven under wear assumptions.
