Background Age and comorbidities increase COVID-19 related in-hospital mortality risk, but the extent by which comorbidities mediate the impact of age remains unknown. Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study with data from 45 Dutch hospitals, 4806 proven COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Dutch hospitals (between February and July 2020) from the CAPACITY-COVID registry were included (age 69[58–77]years, 64% men). The primary outcome was defined as a combination of in-hospital mortality or discharge with palliative care. Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the associations between sex, age, and comorbidities with the primary outcome. The effect of comorbidities on the relation of age with the primary outcome was evaluated using mediation analysis. Results In-hospital COVID-19 related mortality occurred in 1108 (23%) patients, 836 (76%) were aged ≥70 years (70+). Both age 70+ and female sex were univariably associated with outcome (odds ratio [OR]4.68, 95%confidence interval [4.02–5.45], OR0.68[0.59–0.79], respectively;both pp Conclusions Age is the main determinant of COVID-19 related in-hospital mortality, with negligible mediation effect of pre-existing comorbidities. - Abstract
Aims Patients with cardiac disease are considered high risk for poor outcomes following hospitalization with COVID-19. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate heterogeneity in associations between various heart disease subtypes and in-hospital mortality. Methods and results We used data from the CAPACITY-COVID registry and LEOSS study. Multivariable Poisson regression models were fitted to assess the association between different types of pre-existing heart disease and in-hospital mortality. A total of 16 511 patients with COVID-19 were included (21.1% aged 66-75 years; 40.2% female) and 31.5% had a history of heart disease. Patients with heart disease were older, predominantly male, and often had other comorbid conditions when compared with those without. Mortality was higher in patients with cardiac disease (29.7%; n= 1545 vs. 15.9%; n= 1797). However, following multivariable adjustment, this difference was not significant [adjusted risk ratio (aRR) 1.08, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.02-1.15; P = 0.12 (corrected for multiple testing)]. Associations with in-hospital mortality by heart disease subtypes differed considerably, with the strongest association for heart failure (aRR 1.19, 95% CI 1.10-1.30; P <0.018) particularly for severe (New York Heart Association class III/IV) heart failure (aRR 1.41, 95% CI 1.20-1.64; P < 0.018). None of the other heart disease subtypes, including ischaemic heart disease, remained significant after multivariable adjustment. Serious cardiac complications were diagnosed in <1% of patients. Conclusion Considerable heterogeneity exists in the strength of association between heart disease subtypes and in-hospital mortality. Of all patients with heart disease, those with heart failure are at greatest risk of death when hospitalized with COVID-19. Serious cardiac complications are rare during hospitalization. [GRAPHICS] .

This study aims to determine the evaluation of reactions, evaluation of learning outcomes, evaluation of behavior and evaluation of the impact of the application of Hybrid Learning. The research method used is the evaluation research method. The study was conducted at Private Santa Maria Tarutung Junior High School with 112 students. Quantitative data collection using a closed questionnaire filled in directly by respondents. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics using the Percentage technique. Evaluation at the reaction stage (Level 1), reactions to the resource persons and organizers showed that students were very satisfied with the services of the organizers on average of 76.14%, while satisfaction with the resource persons (Teachers) was 67.22%. Evaluation of learning outcomes (Level 2) shows that student learning outcomes have improved knowledge and skills. Learning outcomes in the realm of knowledge have increased by an average of 1.68%. Learning outcomes in the field of skills increased by an average of 1.53%. For the Realm of Knowledge from 112 respondents, 101 students experienced an increase, 6 students remained and 4 students experienced a decrease. In the Ability of 112 respondents, 102 students experienced an increase, 7 students remained and 3 people experienced a decrease. Behavioral Evaluation (Level 3) based on research findings due to Hybrid Learning averaged 57.63% of students experienced changes in behavior according to the perceptions of student friends. Based on the findings of the study, students experienced a change in behavior of 76.64% according to the student's own perception. Evaluation on the impact (Level 4) of hybrid learning implementation that answers is very impactful with the impact there is 73.22% in the form of increasing knowledge understanding, learning motivation, identifying, expressing in cultural arts subjects. - Abstract
Research Note The pests of the wild grapevine, Vitis vinifera silvestris (Gmelin) Hegi, populations in the Atlantic Pyrenees (France) Several populations of Vitis vinifera silvestris (Gmelin) Hegi have been localized and identified in the Department of Pyrenees Atlantiques (SW of France). Nowadays, this subspecies of V. vinifera is being collected in germplasm banks in order to conserve this genetic material which also could be used in grapevine breeding. According to our field observations, the ''Erineum strain'' of Colomerus vitis (Pagenstecher) (Acari: Eriophyidae) is the pest of the widest distribution and importance in these wild populations., VITIS - Journal of Grapevine Research, Vol. 34 No. 3 (1995): Vitis

This book explains in detail the potential value of the hybrid modalities, SPECT-CT and PET-CT, in the imaging of cardiac innervation in a wide range of conditions and diseases, including ischemic heart disease, diabetes mellitus, heart failure, amyloidosis, heart transplantation, and ventricular arrhythmias. Imaging of the brain-heart axis in neurodegenerative disease and stress and of cardiotoxicity is also discussed. The roles of the various available tracers are fully considered, and individual chapters address radiopharmaceutical development under GMP, imaging physics, and kinetic modeling software. Highly relevant background information is included on the autonomic nervous system of the heart and its pathophysiology, and in addition future perspectives are discussed.Awareness of the importance of autonomic innervation of the heart for the optimal management of cardiac patients is growing, and there is an evident need for objective measurement techniques or imaging modalities. In this context, Autonomic Innervation of the Heart will be of wide interest to clinicians, researchers, and industry.
