Objective: Pulmonary embolism is a life-threatening condition often resulting from deep vein thrombosis, with significant morbidity and mortality. Thrombolytic therapy is a common treatment, particularly in high-risk cases. Despite numerous studies on pulmonary embolism, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research trends and impacts, especially regarding thrombolytic therapy, is lacking. Materials and Methods: This bibliometric analysis utilized the Web of Science database to collect and evaluate literature published between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2023. A total of 282 articles were selected based on specific inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix R, focusing on publication trends, citation counts, and collaborative networks. Results: The analysis identified a progressive increase in pulmonary embolism-related publications, peaking in 2020 and 2022. The United States led in publication volume, followed by Turkey and China. Despite high publication numbers, Turkey's citation count was relatively low, highlighting potential gaps in research impact and quality. The study also revealed that European countries exhibit stronger international collaborations compared to the United States. Key research trends shifted post-2018 towards topics such as mortality, bleeding, COVID-19, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis provides a detailed overview of the research landscape on pulmonary embolism and thrombolytic therapy, highlighting evolving research priorities, the significance of funding opportunities, and the importance of international collaborations. Objective: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients with congestive heart failure (HF) that present with various risk factors are less likely to receive recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA). The risk factors associated with excluding AIS patients with congestive heart failure (AIS-HF) from rtPA therapy have not been fully established. Methods: Retrospective data for 5469 AIS patients comprised of 590 AIS patients with HF and 4879 AIS patients without HF were collected from a regional stroke registry between January 2010 and June 2016. Baseline risk factors were analyzed using logistic regression analysis to determine the risk factors associated with rtPA exclusion in AIS-HF patients. Results: In the adjusted analysis, AIS-HF patients that that did not receive rtPA were more likely to be older (OR = 0.982, 95% CI, 0.966-1, P =.020), presented with coronary artery disease (OR = 0.618, 95% CI, 0.391-0.98, P =.040), and with an elevated INR (OR = 0.326, 95% CI, 0.129-0.82, P =.018). AIS-HF patients that were included for rtPA therapy were more likely to show improvement in ambulatory status (OR = 1.69, 95% CI, 1.058-2.7, P =.028). The discriminating power of the model was strong with an area under the curve (AUROC) = 0.668 (95% CI, 0.611-0.724, P <.001). Conclusion: Our study establishes the associations between stroke risk factors and exclusion from rtPA therapy. This finding suggests the need to develop management strategies for older HF patients with carotid artery disease and an elevated INR to improve their eligibility for rtPA treatment following an acute ischemic stroke. Background and aim: Benchmarking is a management approach for implementing best medical practices at the lowest cost. The objectives of this study were to set achievable performance benchmarks for individual quality indicators to determine the predicted quality achievement related to better adherence, and to select optimal quality indicators for improving the quality of acute ischemic stroke care. Methods: We analyzed data on 500,331 patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke who were treated at 518 hospitals in China from January 2011 to May 2017. The primary outcome was independence (modified Rankin Scale score ≤2) at discharge. Data-driven achievable benchmarking used the "pared-mean" approach to set objective performance targets. Hierarchical logistic regression models were employed to evaluate the process–outcome association, as well as the predicted quality improvement if all hospitals were to operate at the benchmark level. Results: Of the overall population, 64.01% were independent patients at discharge. The performance benchmarks were >90% for most of the quality indicators. After adjusting for patient-level and hospital-level characteristics and unifying hospital performance to the benchmark level, the quality indicators with high increase in both overall adherence rate and independence rate were thrombolytic therapy, anticoagulant therapy, venous thrombosis prophylaxis. Conclusions: Performance targets for three acute treatments, including thrombolytic therapy, anticoagulant therapy, venous thrombosis prophylaxis, could best motivate improvements in both overall adherence rate and independence rate at discharge. Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the predictive value of clinical presentations on functional ambulation following thrombolytic therapy. Materials & methods: Logistic regression analysis was used to determine associations between functional ambulation and thrombolytic therapy. Results & conclusion: In the results, Hispanic ethnicity (odds ratio (OR): 2.808; p = 0.034; 95% CI: 1.08–7.30), high National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (OR: 1.112; p ≤ 0.001; 95% CI: 1.06–1.17), weakness/paresis (OR: 1.796; p = 0.005; 95% CI: 1.19–2.71), Broca's aphasia (OR: 1.571; p = 0.003; 95% CI = 1.16–2.12) and antihypertensive medication (OR: 1.530; p = 0.034; 95% CI: 1.03–2.26) were associated with an improved ambulation in patients without thrombolytic therapy. Background: Rapid response and appropriate management of Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 team is very necessary for patients who experienced trauma or serious illness in prehospital area. The aim of this study was to identify the response units integration as related factors with total prehospital time (TPT) of PSC 119 in Purworejo Regency. Material and Method: This research was conducted by Retrospective Chart Review (RCR) design on 105 patients who treated by PSC 119 in Purworejo Regency. Bivariate test was conducted by using Spearman correlation test to investigate the correlation with response unit integration. Results: The majority of patients were trauma by traffic accident (57.1%). The fastest TPT was 9 minutes and the longest was 105 minutes with an average of 30.85 minutes. Bivariate test results demonstrate that response units integration had a value of p=0.000 (r=0.387). It meant that there was significant correlation between response units integration with TPT. Conclusion: This study suggests the PSC leaders to improve the integration between the call center unit with response units. The improvement of nurses’ capacity through nursing specialist education and advanced level training of prehospital emergency were very important for optimizing the quality of prehospital intervention. Introduction: Cardiovascular disease has become one of the most common diseases in the world with the development of the industrial society. This study was conducted to examine the complications of thrombolytic treatment and their effects on nursing practices. Methods: This descriptive and observational research was carried out on 60 patients who were hospitalized with acute myocardial infraction in the coronary intensive care units of a public hospital between January, 2011 and December, 2011. In collection of the data the questionnaire developed by the researchers was used. In evaluation of the data frequency and percentage values were used in SPSS 17.0 software. Results: It was determined that the 73,3% of patients participated in the study were male, 56,7% were in between 50-69 age group; 55% were smoking and 33% had alcohol consumption habit. According to the ST localization; 60% of patients were diagnosed with inferior myocardial infraction and 70% had hypertension, the developed complications were determined in 96,7% of patients as 97% minor bleeding, 95% arrhythmia, 93,3% hypotension, 3,3% fever and 1,7 major bleeding. It was found that the 93,3% of minor bleeding complications were in intravenous failed attempt places, 16,7% gingiva, 3,3% intraocular bleeding, 15% epistaxis, 5% ecchymosis. Conclusion: Nurses were advised to follow the patients in terms of complications and to open vascular accesses more carefully on patients who will get treatment of acute myocardial infraction.
