International audience; Nanophononic materials have recently arisen as a promising way for controlling heat transport, mirroring the results in macroscopic phononic materials for sound transmission, filtering and attenuation applications. Here we present a Finite Element numerical simulation of the transient propagation of an acoustic Wave-Packet in a 2D nanophononic material, which allows to identify the effect of the nanostructuration on the acoustic attenuation length and thus on the transport regime for the vibrational energy. Assuming elastic behavior in the matrix and in the inclusions, we find that the rigidity contrast between them not only tunes the apparent attenuation length of the wave packet along its main trajectory, but gives rise to different behaviours, from weak to strong scattering, and waves pinning. As a consequence, different energy transport regimes can be identified in the three-parameter space of the excitation frequency, inclusions size and rigidity contrast, leading to the identification of a combination of parameters allowing for the shortest attenuation distance. These results could have applications both in the field of acoustic insulation, and for the control of heat transfer.

International audience; Nanocomposites made of crystalline nanoinclusions embedded in an amorphous matrix are at the forefront of current research for energy harvesting applications. However, the microscopic mechanisms leading alternatively to an effectively reduced or enhanced thermal transport still escape understanding. In this work, we present a molecular dynamics simulation study of model systems, where for the first time we combine a microscopic investigation of phonon dynamics with the macroscopic thermal conductivity calculation, to shed light on thermal transport in these materials. We clearly show that crystalline nanoinclusions represent a novel scattering source for vibrational waves, modifying the nature of low energy vibrations and significantly anticipating the propagative-to-diffusive crossover (Ioffe–Regel), usually located at energies of few THz in amorphous materials. Moreover, this crossover position can be tuned by changing the elastic contrast between nanoinclusions and the matrix, and anticipated by a factor as large as 10 for a harder inclusion. While the propagative contribution to thermal transport is drastically reduced, the calculated thermal conductivity is not significantly affected in the chosen system, as the diffusive contribution dominates heat transport when all phonons are thermally populated. These findings allow finally to understand the panoply of contradictory results reported on thermal transport in nanocomposites and give clear indications to the characteristics that the parent phases should have for efficiently reducing heat transport in a nanocomposite.

Psycholinguistic work on the development of expressive language in young French-speaking children with autism is still too limited. However, lexical, morphosyntactic and pragmatic language features have been highlighted in their productions (Foudon, 2008; Lavielle-Guida, 2007, 2016; Lavielle, Bassano, Adrien and Barthelemy, 2003). The present transversal and descriptive study seeks to characterize finely the lexical and morphosyntactic characteristics by means of the parental questionnaire DLPF, Development of the French Production Language, in its new version called « DLPF Synthesis Version, 18 to 42 months ». This study analyses the productions of eight autistic children aged 21 to 37 months of verbal development compared to those of normotypic children of the same age. The result is an over-representation of paralexical items, an equivalent proportion of content words and an under-representation of grammatical words in lexicon ; as well as an under-representation of regular verbal forms, complex structures and sentences in morphosyntax. These results, beyond the research, open up remedial perspectives allowing speech therapists to concretely target the lexical and morphosyntactic domains to work on.; Les travaux psycholinguistiques concernant le développement du langage expressif des jeunes enfants autistes francophones sont encore trop peu nombreux. Des particularités langagières lexicales, morphosyntaxiques et pragmatiques ont pourtant été mises en évidence dans leurs productions (Foudon, 2008; Lavielle-Guida, 2007, 2016; Lavielle, Bassano, Adrien et Barthelemy, 2003). Il en ressort une surreprésentation des items paralexicaux, une proportion de mots de contenu équivalente et une sous-représentation des mots grammaticaux en lexique ; ainsi qu’une sous-représentation des formes verbales régulières, des structures et phrases complexes en morphosyntaxe. Ces résultats, au-delà de la recherche, ouvrent sur des perspectives de remédiation permettant aux orthophonistes de cibler concrètement les domaines lexicaux et morphosyntaxiques à travailler.

Internationale.; International audience; Quasi-periodic structures have been widely studied for its atom dynamics, Photonic, magnetic and electronic wave propagation(Ashraff and Stinchcombe (1989), Vekilov et al. (1999), Szallas and Jagannathan (2008)). These structures exhibit frequency ranges in which no propagative wave exist(Bayindir et al. (2001) and Engel et al. (2007)). Band gap can lead to interesting applications in various domain (Florescu et al. (2009)). The recent progress in the additive manufacturing open new possibilities for using quasi-periodic structures by allowing the printing of complex meta-materials, in a consistent manner. Additive manufactured meta material can be designed to exhibit unusual macroscopic behavior due to their internal structure as in (Bückmann et al. (2012) and Claeys et al. (2014)). Therefore the possibility of creating meta materials having the same properties than the quasi periodic atomic structures can be highly interesting and allow to get rid of unwanted complex behaviors (Engel et al. (2007)). Such meta material could create band gap in their virbational mechanical response while being isotropic. The mechanical and vibrational properties of quasi-periodic and of amorphous structures are related to complex mathematical problems due to the impossibility of periodic simplifications. Therefore, in order to solve these problems, big size matrix problems have to be dealed with. In this paper a beam structure based on a octohedric quasi-periodic Pensore lattice approximant is studied. The octohedric Penrose tilling is chosen for his ability to create a periodic approximant to the quasi periodic tilling thus allowing the use of periodic boundary conditions as suggested in (Duneau (1989)).It has been shown in Sørensen et al. (1991) that, for ferromagnetic properties, the approximant with periodic boundary conditions closely mimic the in finite lattice properties. Numerical methods for the vibrational study of big systems have been applied from the atomic vibration domain up to finite elements modelization. Kernel Polynomial Method (KPM) is used herein to calculate the Vibrational Density Of States (VDOS) and the Dynamical Structure Factor (DSF) without exact diagonalization of the dynamical matrix. The KPM method is detailled by Lin et al. (2016) and was adapted to the study of to the vibrational properties of large-size systems by Beltukov et al. (2016b). These methods allow better understanding of vibrational response of quasi-periodic structures.

Glossodynia or burning mouth syndrome is a chronic desease affecting mostly tongue and where no dental or medical causes can be found. Women after menopause are the most affected. The diagnose leads on clinical exclusion criteria but no consensus has been established yet. As an etiologic explanation,neuropathy is, for now on, advanced by scientists who have found peripherical and central neural lesions in studied cases. Few evidence have been gathered on burning mouth syndrome's risk factors. Its origin is thought to be linked with alterations of different steroid sources happening during menopause and/or chronic stressful events. The treatment is symptomatic by using medication as anxiolytics or antidepressants which are ineffective most of the time. Pursuing research concerning the etiopathogenical factors of the desease is therefore a necessity to be able to improve,one day, patients' symptoms., La glossodynie primaire ou stomatodynie primaire est une sensation pathologique de brûlure buccale, localisée en particulier à la langue sans qu’aucune cause médicale ou dentaire ne soit retrouvée. Elle toucherait préférentiellement les femmes à partir de la ménopause.Le diagnostic de la pathologie réside actuellement sur des critères cliniques d’exclusion pour lesquels aucun consensus n’a été établi.La cause neuropathique est ,à l’heure actuelle ,privilégiée par les scientifiques qui ont pu observer des processus lésionnels touchant les systèmes nerveux périphériques et /ou central.Peu de données ont été rassemblées sur les facteurs de risque de la stomatodynie primaire dont l'apparition serait liée à des modifications concomitantes et importantes de différences sources stéroïdiennes notamment lors de la ménopause ou encore au cours d’un stress chronique. La thérapie actuelle est symptomatique et repose essentiellement sur l'administration d'anxiolytiques et antidépresseurs ce qui s'avère être insuffisant. Il est donc essentiel de poursuivre les recherches sur les mécanismes étiopathogéniques de la maladie afin de pouvoir un jour améliorer cette prise en charge.

Internationale.; International audience; We propose a new method using coarse-graining and molecular dynamics to calculate structural and mechanical properties for sodium silicate glasses at different scales. Using this method we were able to describe the mechanical behavior of the material, this way a new constitutive model was developed which could be used in continuum calculations.

Colloque avec actes et comité de lecture. Internationale.; International audience; En dépit de sa fragilité, la silice amorphe se déforme plastiquement aux échelles microscopiques. C'est ce qu'on observe par exemple en indentation. De façon remarquable, cette déformation irréversible de la silice amorphe mobilise deux processus : 1) l'écoulement en cissaillement ; 2) la densification ou compaction. Pour déterminer phénoménologiquement une loi de comportement plastique de la silice amorphe, nous avons développé des expériences de mesure mécanique à l'échelle locale (Fig., gauche). En particulier, récemment, nous avons effectué des mesures de compression uniaxiale sur des piliers de silice de petite taille [1]. Dans nos expériences les plus récentes, nous dépassons même le stade plastique et génèrons, de façon inattendue, de la fracture à ces échelles très réduites. Tous nos résultats expérimentaux sont en très bon accord avec une loi de comportement qui couple pression hydrostatique et cisaillement selon un comportement compactant (Fig., centre), en introduisant un écrouissage paramétré par la densité. Afin de mieux comprendre les origines physiques de ce comportement, nous avons conduit des simulations par dynamique moléculaire [2] (Fig., droite). En utilisant des potentiels relativement classiques, nous retrouvons qualitativement une forme de surface de charge proche de celle que nous avions identifiée à partir des expériences. En outre l'approche locale permet de donner corps à l'hypothèse que c'est le comportement de flambement de la structure locale, initialement très ouverte, qui est à l'origine de ce comportement très caractéristique. Nous montrerons alors en quoi cette vision de la plasticité de la silice amorphes est cohérente avec les autres propriétés mécaniques et physiques remarquables de la silice amorphe comme la nonlinéarité élastique anormale, le faible coefficient de Poisson et le faible coefficient de dilalation.

Internationale.; International audience; Alors que la plasticité des cristaux bénéficie d'un cadre théorique bien établi (faisant appel à la notion de dislocation), la déformation plastique dans les matériaux amorphes (désordonnés) nécessite de faire appel à de nouveaux concepts, du fait de l'absence de régularité dans l'empilement atomique. Depuis les travaux précurseurs de A.Argon et F.Spaepen, de nombreux progrès ont pu être faits dans les dernières années grâce à l'apport des modélisations mésoscopiques, et surtout des simulations numériques atomistiques. Celles-ci permettent d'identifier les mécanismes de déformation à petite échelle et d'étudier, dans certaines limites, leur organisation au cours du chargement mécanique. Nous présenterons dans cet exposé un bilan des connaissances sur la réponse élastique, plastique et vibrationnelle des matériaux amorphes. Nous discuterons tout particulièrement le rôle de la composition chimique sur les mécanismes élémentaires de dissipation plastique dans les matériaux amorphes, ainsi que les méthodes de mesure actuelles permettant de les observer et si possible de les anticiper.
