Background: Mental disorders can significantly impact children's lives and affect their emotional, cognitive, and behavioral development. Family support and care is critical to the well-being of children, particularly children with mental disorders. However, given the “gap” between research and practice“,” there have been very few studies in the Arab region that focus on the role of the family in supporting children with mental disorders. The study also examines how families cope with caring for a person with mental disorders and what behaviors may influence the patient's distress. In addition, the study will examine the importance of family rehabilitation and integration of people with mental disorders into society. Methods: The study adopts the descriptive-analytical method and uses a questionnaire to gather data from the participants. The 350-parents sample (with 113 boys, 237 girls) was selected from the Shafallah Center for Integrating People with Disability. Morgan's law is used to determine the sample size. Results: The results show that there are statistically significant differences in the role of family members in supporting people with mental disorders due to two variables: Gender and Work. Age has no statistically significant effect on the role of family members in supporting people with mental disorders. Conclusion: This study is the first study conducted to investigate the role of family in supporting children with mental disorders in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in general and Qatar in particular. The results show that families should cope with the needs of a person with a mental disorder. Family rehabilitation is important in the care of people with mental disorders. There are certain behaviors of family members that can increase or decrease stress for the person. The results suggest that the family plays an essential role in supporting and promoting the lives of people with mental disorders and recommending effective ways to cope with them.

Objectives: This research aims at identifying levels of fear of Covid-19, neuroticism, and health anxiety among university students in Qatar. In addition, it aims to identifying gender differences in fear of Covid-19, neuroticism, and health anxiety, and testing whether fear of Covid-19 mediates the relationship between neuroticism and health anxiety. Methods: This research utilized a descriptive correlational approach. The research sample included 236 participants from colleges of Arts, Education, and Engineering (age range= 18-46, M= 24.98, SD= 6.24). Results: Results show that levels of Fear of Covid-19, neuroticism, and health anxiety range from moderate to extremely low (32.15-59.24 %). No gender differences were found and fear of Covid-19 mediated the relationship between neuroticism and health anxiety. Conclusions: Based on the results. It is recommended to do further research on the psychological impacts of Covid 19 and its relationship to other psycho-social variables.

In addition to its well-known role in calcium metabolism, vitamin D regulates both innate and adaptive immunity, and subsequently modulates the antiviral and antibacterial inflammatory immune responses. In view of the emerging coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, searching for potential therapeutic and protective strategies is of urgent interest, and vitamin D is one of the promising agents in this field. In this review, we present data from literature that supports the promising role of vitamin D in treatment and/or prevention of several infections including severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This review summarizes vitamin D metabolism and its role in inflammation, thrombosis and immune regulation. It also reviews, in short, the role of vitamin D and the impact of its deficiency in several infections namely tuberculosis, influenza, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and SARS-CoV-2. Considering the roles of vitamin D on immune modulation, controlling of thrombosis, and attacking several microorganisms, the current review will elaborate on the association between these salient roles of vitamin D and the pathogenicity of various infectious agents including COVID-19. Consequently, the comprehensive finding of the current review shows a possible significant impact of vitamin D supplement as a hope in preventing, treating, and/or improving the progression of certain infections, specifically during the worldwide attempts to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and minimize the severity of health complications encountered accordingly. The children underwent an ophthalmological examination and completed questionnaires on physical function (CHAQ) and vision-related (VR) QoL (EYE-Q).Results: No differences regarding visual acuity (VA), refraction, intraocular pressure or physical or VRQoL were found between those with JIA without (n=33) and those with JIA-associated uveitis (n=7). When comparing physical function measured by CHAQ disability index and JIA subtype, a difference was found; children with polyarthritis scored the worst (p=0.0098). Children with subnormal VA scored worse on EYE-Q compared with those with normal VA (p=0.013). We found correlations between duration of JIA and CHAQ disability index (r=−0.42, p=0.0007) and CHAQ well-being (r=−0.34, p=0.022).Conclusion: This study indicates the importance of measuring not only physical function but also VRQoL in children with JIA and JIA-associated uveitis.Keywords: child arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, PROM, uveitis, quality of life

This systematic review of the literature since 2006 summarizes evidence for the use of RTX in the treatment of additional rheumatological diseases: antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody-associated vasculitis (AAV), hepatitis C virus-related cryoglobulinemic vasculitis, Henoch–Schönlein purpura, ankylosing spondylitis, and Raynaud’s phenomenon. Data from randomized controlled trials are available only for AAV, confirming efficacy for remission induction, including in disease resistant to conventional treatment, and maintenance of remission. Further studies are required to confirm optimal maintenance regimens in AAV, important questions needing to be addressed including protocol administration versus treatment in response to clinical relapse and the importance of maintaining B-cell depletion. Sufficient data are available in other diseases to suggest RTX to be useful and that randomized controlled trials should be conducted. Abstract Background Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and discovery of fetal cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) in the maternal circulation render possible prenatal screening for trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18, trisomy 13, and sex chromosome aneuploidies. The approach is called “fetal cfDNA screening” and in contrast to noninvasive conventional serum screening, it provides the identification of 98%–99% of fetuses with Down syndrome. Methods Retrospective analysis of targeted noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT) (Clarigo Test) pregnancies with moderate risk, which we have reported between 2016 and 2018 years is presented. Two separate laboratory workflows and NGS platforms are used for the same targeted NIPT analysis. Results In total, 4,594 pregnant women were investigated. Initial 3,594 cases are studied by MiSeq platform, the last 1,000 cases by NextSeq. Failure rate for MiSeq platform is 10.9% and for NextSeq is 8.7%. Automatically reported cases constitute 75% of the MiSeq group and 87% of the NextSeq group. Conclusions Targeted NIPT results suggest that MiSeq platform could be used for NIPT which would be an essential option particularly for laboratories with low sample flow. And, the NextSeq platform has easier wet lab process and also increased success rate in automatic reporting which is suitable for centers with high number of NIPT cases.

This study was devoted to exploring the natural nodulation and nitrogen fixation of wild legumes grown in different Egyptian habitats. These habitats are representative to four phytogeographical regions. Sites that inhabited by Melilotus indicus, Medicago polymorpha, Trifolium resupinatum, Trigonella hamosa and Vicia sativa in each region were selected for study. High nodulation, nitrogen fixation and plant biomass were recorded in plants grown at Nile region and Oases compared with those at Mediterranean region and Sinai. The inhibition in nodulation and potential of nitrogen fixation in legumes at MR and S were attributed to drought and low soil fertility. Differences in species, regions or their interaction have significant effect on nodulation, legheamoglobin, nitroginase activity and biomass of nodules, shoots and roots; the magnitude of effect due to different species was the greatest. Five rhizobial isolates (Sinorhizobium fredii, Rhizobium mesosinicum, Rhizobium daejeonense, Rhizobium huautlense, Rhizobium alamii) recovered from root nodules of the five species were identified by 16S rRNA gene sequence. The indigenous rhizobia of legumes grown at MR and S expected to be exhibit higher tolerance to the existing harsh environmental conditions. These rhizobia can be used as inoculants for crop legumes under unfavorable environmental conditions of agroecosystems or recently reclaimed desert. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.224013

During two successive sugar beet growing seasons; 2021/2022 and 2022 / 2023. This field study was carried out at the Experimental Farm of Sakha Agricultural Research Station for recording the various prey of Chrysoperla carnea (Stephens) (Neuroptera :Chrysopidae ( larvae predator by visual examination method, this predator feed upon their prey in the field. Moreover, investigated the toxicity of conventional, Clozemail, and biocides Xentari® insecticides on Spodoptera spp.) Noctuidae :Lepidoptera ( and C. carnea larvae. The obtained results proved that the total numbers of prey were 197 and 196 individuals in two seasons, respectively. The most common prey was Spodoptera spp. (Eggs + larvae), leafhoppers, aphids, Pegomyia mixta Vill. (Diptera: Anthomyiidae) larvae, and Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) throughout the two seasons. In addition, the general meaning of reductions to Spodoptera spp. Larvae population due to Clozemail® and Pleo® was (82.17 and 84.11%) and (83.33 and 89.9%) during the two seasons, respectively. While Xentari® caused (77.36 and 77.65%) in two seasons, respectively. On the other hand, the general mean reduction in C. carnea larvae numbers was (83.33 and 89.90%) for Clozemail®, and (92.32 and 89.95/) for Pleo® in two seasons, respectively. Regarding the biocide, Xentari® induced reductions to the same predators with (26.85 and 22.85%) in two seasons, respectively. In conclusion, the combination and integration between C. carnea predator and biocides application are very good tools in IPM of sugar beet insects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This work was undertaken at the experimental farm of Sakha Agricultural Research Station during 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 seasons. For investigating the role of resistant varieties and Aphidius colemani Viereck (Hymenoptera:Aphidiidae) parasitoid in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) of Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in sugar beet fields. Results indicate that significant difference among the three varieties (LP17B4011, FD18B4018 and FD17B4010) in the numbers of aphid populations and infested plants with this aphid throughout the two seasons LP17B4011 variety more resistant than FD18B4011 and FD17B4010 ones. Mean ±SE (Mean number of aphids and infested plants) were 0.807±0.01 and 0.471± 0.0 to LP17B4011 and 1.425± 0.02 and 0.614± 0.03 to FD 18B4018. Also, 7.661±1.2 and 2.377± 1.01to FD17B4010 during 2021/2022. While, (0.330 ± 0.01 and 0.235± 0.02), (0.567± 0.01and 0.520± 0.01), (9.044± 2.11 and 2.710 ± 1.03) for the three cultivars, respectively in 2022/2023. In such concern, the parasitism efficiency of A. colemani against M. persicae on the three varieties was 47.05, 36.66 and 34.78 % to the three varieties, respectively in 2021/2022. Moreover, 57.14, 39.39 and 36.84 % for three varieties respectively in 2022/2023. Consequently, planting the resistant variety + A. colmani parasitoids are very important and efficient elements in IPM of M. persicae in sugar beet fields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Clove plant (Syzygium aromaticum) is one of the Myrtaceae family. It's a common flavor in food and the traditional medicine. The study's objective was to ascertain whether the clove bud aqueous extract (CAE) and CAE + nanosilver have any biological effects on immune cells and HT-29 colon cancer cell line. Nanosilver was produced through green synthesis approach using CAE. Produced nanosilver was characterized via electron microscope (scanning, SEM) and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. CAE and CAE + nanosilver were examined for their active biomolecules using FTIR analysis, p53 contents using real-time PCR, apoptosis and cell cycle arrest power on HT-29 cancer cell line via flow cytometerty and immunomodulatory potential utilizing MTT assay. Results cleared that a spherical nanosilver with a diameter range of 53 nm was formed by CAE. There were several active biomolecules in CAE and CAE + nanosilver. CAE and CAE + nanosilver increased the p53 protein expression and apoptotic cell number in HT-29 colon cancer cells. CAE and CAE + nanosilver could arrest HT-29 cells at the phase G2/M. CAE and CAE + nanosilver stimulated quiescent and PHA-pre-treated splenic cells at higher concentrations, and CAE suppressed quiescent splenic cell when diluted. In conclusion, the safe edible Syzygium aromaticum plant can be utilized to make anti-tumor agent, essentially for colon tumor. As Syzygium aromaticum plant could stimulate immune cells, it can be used as immune-stimulatory agent that can help fight tumor and tumor development. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

OBJECTIVE: The aim was to investigate the effect of dapagliflozin on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and dyslipidemia in type 2 diabetic rats by studying the histopathological structure of the liver and detecting possible underlying mechanisms for this impact by evaluating the potential anti-inflammatory action of dapagliflozin. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 100 albino rats were used in this work and divided into five equal groups: group I (Control group), group II (Control diabetic group), group III (was administered dapagliflozin, 0.75 mg/kg, p.o.), group IV (was administered dapagliflozin, 1.5 mg/kg, p.o.), and group V (was administered dapagliflozin, 3 mg/kg, p.o.). RESULTS: In our study, the total body weight, liver weight, liver index, blood glucose level, insulin level, insulin resistance, total cholesterol, triglycerides, liver enzymes, IL-1 ß, and MDA were significantly higher in the control diabetic group than the normal group. The dapagliflozin reduced all the above variables significantly in a dose-dependent manner compared to the control diabetic group (p-value = 0.001 for all). CONCLUSIONS: Dapagliflozin may be a promising novel treatment strategy for treating T2DM-related non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and dyslipidemia where it possesses anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and anti-dyslipidemic effects. The adsorption of SO2, NO2, and NH3 toxic gases on Al24N24 and Al24N23C nanocages was investigated by using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The adsorption energies, frontier orbitals, charge transfer using natural bonding orbital (NBO) analysis, dipole moment, the partial density of states (PDOS), thermodynamic relationships, non-covalent interaction (NCI), and quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) were considered. The results reveal that carbon-doped Al24N24 nanocage increases the adsorption energies for SO2 and NO2 gases while decreasing the adsorption energy of NH3 gas. The ΔG for all configurations were negative except the configurations A1 and G2 confirming the weak adsorption of these two complexes. In conclusion, Al24N24 and Al24N23C nanocages are in general promising adsorbents for the removal of SO2, NO2, and NH3 toxic gases. The Al24N24 and Al24N23C nanocages are ideal electronic materials. SLMAP3 is a constituent of the centrosome and is known to assemble with the striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase (STRIPAK) complex, where it has been reported to repress Hippo signalling. The global knockout of SLMAP3 in mice results in embryonic/perinatal lethality and stunted growth without changes in the phosphorylation status of YAP. Diverse phenotypes present in the SLMAP3−/− embryos include reduced body axis, small and abnormal organs resembling defects in planar cell polarity (PCP) signalling, while also displaying the notable polycystic kidneys, a known manifestation of ciliopathies. Analysis of cell polarity in primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) including cell migration, orientation and mitotic spindle angle did not reveal any changes due to SLMAP3 loss in these cells, although the expression of DVL3 was significantly reduced. Furthermore, MEFs lacking FGFR1OP2 or STRN3, two other STRIPAK members, did not reveal any significant changes in any of these parameters either. Significant changes in the number of ciliated cells and primary cilium length in SLMAP3 and FGFR1OP2 deficient MEFs were evident, while a reduced primary cilium length was notable in chondrocytes of SLMAP3 deficient embryos. Our findings suggest that SLMAP3 is essential for mouse embryogenesis through novel mechanisms involving the primary cilium/PCP and protein stability independent of Hippo signalling.

The positioning and communication between the nucleus and centrosomes are essential in cell division, differentiation and tissue formation. During skeletal myogenesis, the nuclei become evenly spaced with the switch of the microtubule-organizing centre (MTOC) from the centrosome to the nuclear envelope (NE). We report that the tail-anchored sarcolemmal membrane associated protein 3 (SLMAP3), a component of the MTOC and NE, is crucial for myogenesis because its deletion in mice leads to a reduction in the NE-MTOC formation, mislocalization of the nuclei, dysregulation of the myogenic programme and abnormal embryonic myofibres. SLMAP3−/− myoblasts also displayed a similar disorganized distribution of nuclei with an aberrant NE-MTOC and defective myofibre formation and differentiation programming. We identified novel interactors of SLMAP3, including pericentrin, PCM1 (pericentriolar material 1), AKAP9 (A-kinase anchoring protein 9), kinesin-1 members Kif5B (kinesin family member 5B), KCL1 (kinesin light chain 1), KLC2 (kinesin light chain 2) and nuclear lamins, and observed that the distribution of centrosomal proteins at the NE together with Nesprin-1 was significantly altered by the loss of SLMAP3 in differentiating myoblasts. SLMAP3 is believed to negatively regulate Hippo signalling, but its loss was without impact on this pathway in developing muscle. These results reveal that SLMAP3 is essential for skeletal myogenesis through unique mechanisms involving the positioning of nuclei, NE-MTOC dynamics and gene programming.

This paper explains and applies a numerical technique utilizing the cubic B-spline functions and the mean value theorem (MVT) to solve a general time fractional partial differential equation (FPDE). The MVT for integrals enables us to approximate the time fractional derivatives in an appropriate simple form. We use the cubic B-spline functions to construct the numerical solution and its spatial derivatives. The great advantage of our technique is that it enables us to approximate solutions of many time FPDEs for several choices of F(x, t, u, ux, uxx). Two numerical examples have been included to emphasize the accuracy and efficiency of the method. It is demonstrated that the numerical method is unconditionally stable by employing the Von Neumann method (VNM).
