Dentro deste contexto, questões relacionadas a segurança se tornam é um dos grandes desafios em todas as redes interligadas. As Metodologias de Segurança podem variar de acordo com a tecnologia utilizada. Dentro do um ambiente de Nuvem podemos encontrar várias opções para habilitar diversos mecanismos de segurança, que são capazes de controlar, monitotorar e restringir o acesso à rede. Neste artigo faço uma analise acerca das noções fundamentais do Sistema de Deteccção de Intrusão e Prevenção (IDPS) em Ambientes de Nuvem. Aditaremos a pesquisa a nossa metodologia de configuração de um sistema IDPS Snort Software.

Abstract The exhaust gases in production of burnt clay bricks is responsible for greenhouse gases (GHGs) emission which increase the carbon footprint in the ecosystem. Here, we report carbon emission and thermal performance based evaluation of 8 ft. × 9 ft. × 8 ft. building. The bricks used in building construction are manufactured from fly ash, agro-forestry wastes, construction & demolition wastes (C&D), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) using NaOH as activator in order to provide compressive strength in the range of 3–6 MPa with ambient curing at 30 °C for 28 days. Life cycle analysis (LCA) reveals the total CO2 emission for fly ash and burnt clay bricks estimated to be 43.28 gCO2 and 290 gCO2 per brick, respectively. Considering the current scenario, by replacing 1–2% of brunt clay bricks with agro-forestry waste, C&D waste based fly ash bricks can potentially reduce 0.5–1.5 million tons of CO2 emission annually. The embodied energy calculation shows fly ash based bricks consumes 10–15 times less energy as compared to burnt clay bricks. Thermal paremeters viz., U-value (0.5–1.2 W/m2K), thermal conductivity (0.4–0.5 W/mK) show adequate insulation of agro-forestry waste based fly ash bricks highlighting its importance of thermal comfort, CO2 reduction along with sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices.

Van Dijk revela como a exclusão digital exacerba as disparidades socioeconômicas, tornando as comunidades marginalizadas mais vulneráveis ao cibercrime e dificultando o seu acesso às oportunidades econômicas e à integração social. O trabalho de Van Dijk sublinha a necessidade urgente de esforços concentrados por parte do meio acadêmico dos decisores políticos e dos profissionais para abordar a exclusão digital e promover um futuro digital mais equitativo.

Reading the viral genome through whole genome sequencing (WGS) enables the detection of changes in the viral genome. The rapid changes in the SARS-CoV-2 viral genome may cause immune escape leading to an increase in the pathogenicity or infectivity. Monitoring mutations through genomic surveillance helps understand the amino acid changes resulting from the mutation. These amino acid changes, especially in the spike glycoprotein, may have implications on the pathogenicity of the virus by rendering it immune-escape. The region of Vidarbha in Maharashtra represents 31.6 % of the state's total area. It holds 21.3 % of the total population. In total, 7457 SARS-CoV-2 positive samples belonging to 16 Indian States were included in the study, out of which 3002 samples passed the sequencing quality control criteria. The metadata of 7457 SARS-CoV-2 positive samples included in the study was sourced from the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP). The metadata of 3002 sequenced samples, including the FASTA sequence, was submitted to the Global Initiative on Sharing Avian Influenza Data (GISAID) and the Indian biological data centre (IBDC). This study identified 104 different SARS-CoV-2 pango-lineages classified into 19 clades. We have also analysed the mutation profiles of the variants found in the study, which showed eight mutations of interest, including L18F, K417N, K417T, L452R, S477N, N501Y, P681H, P681R, and mutation of concern E484K in the spike glycoprotein region. The study was from November 2020 to December 2022, making this study the most comprehensive genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 conducted for the region.

The well-being of cotton crops is of utmost importance for maintaining agricultural productivity, and the early detection of diseases plays a critical role in achieving this objective. This study introduces a comprehensive approach for creating a machine learning-based system capable of identifying diseases in cotton plants through the analysis of leaf images. The research encompasses stages such as acquiring the dataset, pre-processing the data, training the model, developing an ensemble model, evaluating the models, and analyzing the results. Several machine-learning models are trained and evaluated to determine how well they can classify cotton leaves as “Healthy” or “Diseased.” These models include Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multi-Class SVM, and an Ensemble model. This investigation yields a practical and visually informative system for disease detection, which can contribute to disease prevention, thereby enhancing both crop yield and quality. This work underscores the significance of continuous improvement by periodically updating the models and explores the potential of advanced techniques such as deep learning.

Introduction: Berberine is a poorly water-soluble alkaloid compound showing significant anti-inflammatory characteristics. It reduces the levels of pro-inflammatory and inflammatory cytokines, including tumour necrosis factor (TNF-????, IFN-????) and interleukin (IL-23, IL-12, and IL-23). Diacerein significantly reduces the splenomegaly associated with psoriasis. It downregulates the production of TNF-α and IL-12. Method: This study reported the development of transferosomes containing berberine HCl and diacerein using a film hydration method followed by optimization using a Box-Behnken design. Sodium deoxycholate was used as an edge activator. The impact of independent variables (amount of phosphatidylcholine, amount of edge activator, and sonication cycles) on dependent variables (particle size and entrapment efficiency) was examined. The optimized formulation was characterized for polydispersity index, vesicle size, entrapment efficiency, ζ potential, spectral analysis like Fourier transform infrared, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, deformability, transmission electron microscopy, antioxidant assay, in-vitro release, and ex-vivo skin permeation studies. Results: The optimized formulation had a particle size of 110.90±2.8 nm with high entrapment efficiency (89.50±1.5 of berberine HCl and 91.23±1.8 of diacerein). Deformability, polydispersity index, ζ potential, and antioxidant activity of the optimized formulation were 2.44, 0.296, -13.3, and 38.36 %, respectively. Optimized transferosomes exhibited 82.093±0.81 % and 85.02±3.81 % release of berberine HCl and diacerein after 24 h of dissolution study. The transdermal flux of optimized formulation was 0.0224 µg cm-2 h-1 (2.24 cm h-1 permeation coefficient) and 0.0462 µg cm-2 h-1 (4.62 cm h-1 permeation coefficient), respectively, for berberine HCl and diacerein. Raman analysis of treated pig skin confirmed that the transferosomes can permeate the skin. No change in the skin condition or irritation was observed in BALB/c mice. Formulation stored at 4 and 25±2 °C / 60±5 % relative humidity was stable for 3 months. Conclusions: Thus, the results demonstrated successful optimization of the transferosomes for the efficient topical delivery of berberine HCl and diacerein in the effective management of psoriasis.

Objectives External control arms (ECAs) provide useful comparisons in clinical trials when randomised control arms are limited or not feasible. We conducted a systematic review to summarise applications of ECAs in trials of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs).Design Systematic review with an appraisal of ECA source quality rated across five domains (data collection, study populations, outcome definitions, reliability and comprehensiveness of the dataset, and other potential limitations) as high, low or unclear quality.Data sources Embase, Medline and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trial were searched through to 12 September 2023.Eligibility criteria Eligible studies were single-arm or randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of inflammatory bowel disease, pouchitis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis in which an ECA was used as the comparator.Data extraction and synthesis Two authors independently screened the search results in duplicate. The characteristics of included studies, external data source(s), outcomes and statistical methods were recorded, and the quality of the ECA data source was assessed by two independent authors.Results Forty-three studies met the inclusion criteria (inflammatory bowel disease: 16, pouchitis: 1, rheumatoid arthritis: 12, juvenile idiopathic arthritis: 1, ankylosing spondylitis: 5, psoriasis: 3, multiple indications: 4). The majority of these trials were single-arm (33/43) and enrolled adult patients (34/43). All included studies used a historical control rather than a contemporaneous ECA. In RCTs, ECAs were most often derived from the placebo arm of another RCT (6/10). In single-arm trials, historical case series were the most common ECA source (19/33). Most studies (31/43) did not employ a statistical approach to generate the ECA from historical data.Conclusions Standardised ECA methodology and reporting conventions are lacking for IMIDs trials. The establishment of ECA reporting guidelines may enhance the rigour and transparency of future research.

The hypertension care continuum is a public health model that outlines the steps or stages that people with hypertension go through from diagnosis to achieving and maintaining blood pressure (BP) under control through care and treatment. Despite diagnosis being straightforward and treatments widely available and relatively inexpensive, there are significant gaps in delivery at the level of awareness, treatment, adherence, and control of hypertension. This article reviews the correlates of client acquisition and retention at the primary care level for hypertension management along the continuum of care context of the public health system in India. The PubMed database was searched to identify relevant literature using appropriate search terms. The search was restricted to original articles published in English language between January 2012 and December 2022 on data collected from India only. Considering the heterogeneity in the available literature, this article will be a scoping review. The hypertension status awareness rate among all hypertensives ranged from 12% to 65%. The proportion of hypertensives being currently treated ranged from 4% to 62%, and the proportion of hypertensives with controlled BP was between 1% and 57%. Large proportions of hypertensives are lost at each step of the hypertension care continuum. The greatest loss in the cascade was seen at the level of hypertension status awareness. Women had better rates across the care continuum when compared to men. Strategies must be strengthened to improve outcomes across the hypertension care continuum. Strengthening and reorienting health systems to provide people-centered health care should now be on the health agenda.

A tumor is carried on by rapid and uncontrolled cell growth in the brain. If it is not treated in the initial phases, it could prove fatal. Despite numerous significant efforts and encouraging outcomes, accurate segmentation and classification continue to be a challenge. Detection of brain tumors is significantly complicated by the distinctions in tumor position, structure, and proportions. The main disinterest of this study stays to offer investigators, comprehensive literature on Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging’s ability to identify brain tumors. Using computational intelligence and statistical image processing techniques, this research paper proposed several ways to detect brain cancer and tumors. This study also shows an assessment matrix for a specific system using particular systems and dataset types. This paper also explains the morphology of brain tumors, accessible data sets, augmentation methods, component extraction, and categorization among Deep Learning (DL), Transfer Learning (TL), and Machine Learning (ML) models. Finally, our study compiles all relevant material for the identification of understanding tumors, including their benefits, drawbacks, advancements, and upcoming trends.

Abstract Identification of Plasmodium-resistance genes in malaria vectors remains an elusive goal despite the recent availability of high-quality genomes of several mosquito vectors. Anopheles stephensi, with its three distinctly-identifiable forms at the egg stage, correlating with varying vector competence, offers an ideal species to discover functional mosquito genes implicated in Plasmodium resistance. Recently, the genomes of several strains of An. stephensi of the type-form, known to display high vectorial capacity, were reported. Here, we report a chromosomal-level assembly of an intermediate-form of An. stephensi strain (IndInt), shown to have reduced vectorial capacity relative to a strain of type-form (IndCh). The contig level assembly with a L50 of 4 was scaffolded into chromosomes by using the genome of IndCh as the reference. The final assembly shows a heterozygous paracentric inversion, 3Li, involving 8 Mbp, which is syntenic to the extensively-studied 2La inversion implicated in Plasmodium resistance in An. gambiae involving 21 Mbp. Deep annotation of genes within the 3Li region in the IndInt assembly using the state-of-the-art protein-fold prediction and other annotation tools reveals the presence of a tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) like gene, which is the homolog of the Eiger gene in Drosophila. Subsequent chromosome-wide searches revealed homologs of Wengen (Wgn) and Grindelwald (Grnd) genes, which are known to be the receptors for Eiger in Drosophila. We have identified all the genes in IndInt required for Eiger-mediated signaling by analogy to the TNF-alpha system, suggesting the presence of a functionally-active Eiger signaling pathway in IndInt. Comparative genomics of the three type-forms with that of IndInt, reveals structurally disruptive mutations in Eiger gene in all three strains of the type-form, suggesting compromised innate immunity in the type-form as the likely cause of high vectorial capacity in these strains. This is the first report of the presence of a homolog of Eiger in malaria vectors, known to be involved in cell death in Drosophila, within an inversion region in IndInt syntenic to an inversion associated with Plasmodium resistance in An. gambiae.

Being the second most populous country in the world, India presents valuable lessons for the world about dealing with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. From this perspective, we attempted a retrospective evaluation of India’s SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance strategy and also gave some recommendations for undertaking effective genomic surveillance. The dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic are continuously evolving, and there is a dire need to modulate the genomic surveillance strategy accordingly. The pandemic is now settling towards a low positivity rate scenario, so it is required to revise the practices and policies formulated for a high positivity rate scenario. The perspective also recommends adopting a decentralised approach for SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance with a focus on optimising the workflow of SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance to ensure early detection of emerging variants, especially in the low positivity rate scenario. The perspective emphasises a key observation that the SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance is an important mitigation effort during the pandemic, the guards of such mitigation efforts should not be lowered during the low positivity rate scenario. We attempt to highlight the limitations faced by the Indian healthcare administration during the SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance and, simultaneously, suggest policy interventions derived from our first-hand experience, which may be implementable in a vast, populated country like India.

Background: Inguinal hernia is one of the diseases that has haunted humanity from its very beginning to the modern times. Groin hernias are the most common conditions referred to surgeons all over the world and over five lakh hernia repairs are performed annually. The lifetime risk for men is 27.0% and for women is 3.0%. Approximately 75.0% of all abdominal wall hernias occur in the groin. Inguinal hernias are more common on the right than on the left and are seven times more likely in males than in females. Aims and Objectives: Aim and objective of the study is to compare extended total extra peritoneal (e-TEP) and total extra peritoneal (TEP) repair in terms of complications and recurrence. To evaluate ease of operability of e-TEP and TEP for inguinal hernia repair. Materials and Methods: Patients with inguinal hernia who were hospitalized to the Department of General Surgery at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, and who were over the age of 18 years of both sexes were studied from December 2019 to October 2021 after signing a consent form. Abstract Crop residue management is a massive problem in the agriculture sector. Agricultural waste in the form of stubble which is usually burnt in the farm fields, causes severe air pollution and poses a threat to the environment. The present study investigates the addition of agro-waste (rice straw) in gypsum hollow-core blocks for partition walls. Various compositions of agro-waste-based gypsum samples have been studied for compressive strength, thermal, sound absorption, sound transmission loss, and fire-resistant properties. The addition of rice straw in gypsum reduces the density and compressive strength of the test sample, thus making it lightweight for non-load bearing wall application. The thermal conductivity of the rice straw added gypsum samples show a decrease in thermal conductivity from 0.2 to 0.11 W/m K. Acoustic properties viz., noise reduction coefficient (NRC) increases from 25 to 45% with increase in rice straw addition and a decreasing trend in sound transmission class (STC) from 37 to 28 dB. The fire-resistant properties viz., surface spread of flame, and fire propagation index test have shown good fire-resistant properties. The agro-waste-based hollow gypsum blocks may be used as a promising material for drywall partitions owing to its thermal insulation, low density, good acoustic and fire-resistant properties.

Background: Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is associated with poor outcomes in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Objectives: We conducted a nationally representative cohort study to evaluate the impact of recurrent CDI (rCDI)-related hospitalization on longitudinal unplanned healthcare utilization in patients with IBD. Design: This was a retrospective cohort study that utilized the 2017 Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD). Methods: We identified 13,446 patients with IBD, hospitalized at least twice from January to June 2017 and followed through December 2017; of these, 1,148 had CDI-related hospitalizations. We compared the annual burden of hospitalization and IBD-related surgery in IBD patients with rCDI-related admission versus single CDI-related admission (primary reference), and those with one or more CDI-related admission versus no CDI-related admission (secondary reference). Results: There were no significant differences in risk and burden of unplanned healthcare utilization (time spent in-hospital, 27 days versus 27 days, p = 0.62), 6-month readmission (63% versus 64.3%, p = 0.8) or IBD-related surgery in patients with recurrent (two or more) CDI-related hospitalizations versus single CDI-related admission. However, patients with ⩾1 CDI-related admission versus no CDI admissions experienced higher rate of 6-month readmission (61.1% versus 55.7%, p
