Abstract

In the agriculture field, the production yield is often less than the farmer's expected value because a few parts of the crops are damaged by pests and insects. Chemical pesticides have wide applications in the agriculture field. Through the agricultural run-off, these pesticides contaminate the water sources. So, there is a need for highly efficient La-doped ZnO photocatalytic material for pesticide degradation. Photocatalytic material was synthesized via a hydrothermal route. Zn (NO)3.6H2O and La (NO3)3.6HM2O was used as zinc and lanthanum precursor in ethanol. Abstract

Complex vanadium oxide is an excellent multifunctional material. Various forms of vanadium oxide was synthesized out of them orthorhombic V2O5 form is more stable. In this manuscript hydrothermal process and mechanochemical process is adopted of the synthesised of Vanadium oxide in different morphological phases. The samples are characteristics by XRD methods using a hydrothermal technique, the V2O5 precursor was successfully synthesised by mixing NH4VO3 and C2H2O4 in a 1:1 molar concentration ratio and conducted the reaction at 150 °C for 7 hours. The orthorhombic phase V2O5 formation is confirmed by the X-ray diffraction. The position of the peak and the quality of the phase formation is tabulated in the paper. Hydrothermal method displays high crystalline belt like formation while mechanochemical method shows formation of nano-particle with deteriorated degree of crystalline confirmed by SEM. The synthesis of high crystalline vanadium oxide orthorhombic phase in different morphologies opens up a way to utilize such materials towards the energy storage and sensing applications. Abstract

Chlorpyrifos insecticide is one of the most extensively used organophosphorus pesticides due to its low cost and excellent performance in controlling pests in agriculture fields and gardens. The presence of pesticides in the aquatic environment produces a slew of issues for both humans and ecosystems. The purpose of this research is to assess the photocatalytic detoxification of chlorpyrifos in wastewater utilizing g-C₃N₄/GO nanoparticles. The g-C₃N₄/GO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by using calcinations and hydrothermal methods. Additionally, the photocatalytic detoxification of chlorpyrifos was examined by optimizing several parameters such as catalyst type, irradiation period, catalyst concentrations, and pH. The photocatalytic efficiency of g-C₃N₄/GO nanoparticles was determined by using a UV–visible spectrophotometer. According to the findings of this study, the photo detoxification effectiveness of chlorpyrifos pesticides rises with increasing illumination time, and detoxification of chlorpyrifos by using a photo-catalyst was strongly influenced by the operational parameters. Rising pollution levels worldwide has moved governments to switch from carbon based fuels to alternative fuels. Hydrogen, a clean energy carrier can rightly be called as the fuel of future. Hydrogen is produced through various methods but water electrolysis is by far one of the most efficient approaches. Abstract

The current research work incorporates the synthesis of pure polyaniline and ternary nanocomposite by in situ chemical oxidation polymerization. XRD study proclaims the formation of NiCo2O4/rGO/PANI with both broader polyaniline and sharp NiCo2O4/rGO peaks. Infrared spectroscopy of NiCo2O4/rGO/PANI shows the presence of all vibrational bands that are present in pure polyaniline with some additional bands of spinel metal oxide. The particle size from the FESEM micrograph using ImageJ software affirms the formation of a synthesized composite in the nanometer range. The electrochemical testing (CV, GCD, and EIS) of the NiCo2O4/rGO/PANI nanocomposite affirms that the ternary composite exhibits higher electrochemical activities than pure polyaniline owing to the frequent movement of electrons at the interface of electrode–electrolyte, greater porosity, and multiple redox reactions. Higher doping of NiCo2O4/rGO (≥ 10%) in PANI also degrades the properties of pure PANI rather than increasing it due to the high agglomeration of rGO molecules with the PANI matrix. Abstract

The present work represents the implementation of the various fuzzy controller with robust sliding mode control (SMC) technique on a nonlinear system considering various external disturbances and model uncertainties. The nonlinear system considered here is a single link inverted pendulum. The proposed work combines the advantages of the sliding mode controlling technique and fuzzy logic controller. A set of linguistic rules are designed in fuzzy logic control, which causes the system to be chattering free. Parameters of the nonlinear system are adjusted according to fuzzy adaptive laws, while the uncertainties of the nonlinear system have been approximated using a fuzzy system. Abstract

Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is the most fatal form of lung cancer. Intratumoral heterogeneity, marked by neuroendocrine (NE) and non-neuroendocrine (non-NE) cell states, defines SCLC, but the cell-extrinsic drivers of SCLC plasticity are poorly understood. To map the landscape of SCLC tumor microenvironment (TME), we apply spatially resolved transcriptomics and quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics to metastatic SCLC tumors obtained via rapid autopsy. The phenotype and overall composition of non-malignant cells in the TME exhibit substantial variability, closely mirroring the tumor phenotype, suggesting TME-driven reprogramming of NE cell states. We identify cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) as a crucial element of SCLC TME heterogeneity, contributing to immune exclusion, and predicting exceptionally poor prognosis. Our work provides a comprehensive map of SCLC tumor and TME ecosystems, emphasizing their pivotal role in SCLC’s adaptable nature, opening possibilities for reprogramming the TME-tumor communications that shape SCLC tumor states.

Abstract

In this study, sol–gel combining with hydrothermal methods were successfully used to synthesize N and S co-doped TiO2 nanotubes (N@S-TiO2 NTT) for efficient photocatalytic degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The obtained characterization results indicated that the synthesized N@S co-doped TiO2 existed as nanotubes. Specific surface areas of these synthesized nanotubes was greatly that of these nanoparticles. The largest surface area recorded at N@S-TiO2 nanotubes was 105.3 m3/g. FTIR spectrum results showed that the presence of N–H and S–O bond, which confirmed that nitrogen and sulfur were successfully doped into TiO2 lattice. We also investigated that N@S dopants significantly improved the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanotubes for efficient degradation of gaseous VOCs. Therefore, photocatalytic activity for VOCs degradation by the N@S-TiO2 nanotubes was greater than that by the undoped TiO2 nanotube. Optimized humidity for degradation of VOCs was medium condition (55–70%). Under dry conditions, lack of water for hydroxyl radical production led to decrease in photocatalytic activity. Under humidity conditions, the excess water molecules competed with VOCs for adsorbing on material surface leading to decrease in photocatalytic degradation efficiency. Under the optimized humidity, the highest photocatalytic efficiency of the synthesized N@S-TiO2 nanotubes for degradation of gaseous VOCs for 3 h was approximately 94%. The VOCs degradation capacity by the synthesized N@S-TiO2 nanotubes was approximately 90 (ppm/g h). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
