This article aims to outline different pedagogical strategies with applications (apps) in the classroom. Every year the use of mobile devices like tablets and smartphones increases. At the same time, applications are being developed to meet this demand. It is therefore essential that educators investigate their use as a motivational technological medium that can possibly be used in the classroom. Apps can be used both as a source of information as well as a tool for creating material. Thus, this article will present the results of a study applying teaching strategies in different contexts. It therefore highlights the importance of mobile learning as a viable alternative in the classroom. In order to do so, there was a multiple case study in the undergraduate pedagogy program and a digital inclusion course for seniors, both offered in the first semester of 2017 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Educational applications and examples of teaching strategies using apps were created in these classes. Educational applications offer the possibility to bring innovations to teaching practices, as well as new forms of communication, interaction and authorship, thus contributing to the process of teaching and learning.

Background: Electronic Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (ePROMs) have emerged as valuable tools in cancer care, facilitating the comprehensive assessment of patients' physical, psychological, and social well-being. This study synthesizes literature on the utilization of ePROMs in oncology, highlighting the diverse array of measurement instruments and questionnaires employed in cancer patient assessments. By comprehensively analyzing existing research, this study provides insights into the landscape of ePROMs, informs future research directions, and aims to optimize patient-centred oncology care through the strategic integration of ePROMs into clinical practice. Methods: A systematic review was conducted by searching peer-reviewed articles published in academic journals without time limitations up to 2024. The search was performed across multiple electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using predefined search terms related to cancer, measurement instruments, and patient assessment. The selected articles underwent a rigorous quality assessment using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT). Results: The review of 85 studies revealed a diverse range of measurement instruments and questionnaires utilized in cancer patient assessments. Prominent instruments such as the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and the Patient Reported Outcome-Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (PROCTCAE) were frequently referenced across multiple studies. Additionally, other instruments identified included generic health-related quality of life measures and disease-specific assessments tailored to particular cancer types. The findings indicated the importance of utilizing a variety of measurement tools to comprehensively assess the multifaceted needs and experiences of cancer patients. Conclusion: Our systematic review provides a comprehensive examination of the varied tools and ePROMs employed in cancer care, accentuating the perpetual requirement for development and validation. Prominent instruments like the EORTC QLQ-C30 and PRO-CTCAE are underscored, emphasizing the necessity for a thorough assessment to meet the multifaceted needs of patients. Looking ahead, scholarly endeavours should prioritize the enhancement of existing tools and the creation of novel measures to adeptly address the evolving demands of cancer patients across heterogeneous settings and populations. Background: More than 30% of women experience at least one abortion. To date, there has been no comprehensive mobile health project on the impact of technology on access to abortion, contraception, and post abortion follow up. The purpose of this study was to review published studies on the role of electronic health in the prevention of unwanted pregnancy, abortion, and post abortion follow up. Materials and Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and EMBASE databases were searched to find relevant articles published between 2008 and 2018. A systematic review study was conducted on 33 relevant articles. All studies related to the use and impact of electronic health on unwanted pregnancy prevention, abortion and post abortion follow up in English from January 2008 to December 2018 were included. The quality of the studies was evaluated using the PRISMA S. Results: Thirty three studies met the inclusion criteria for the review. The Studies were divided into four main groups of women's experiences on the use of mobile health and telemedicine technologies for at home medical abortion, unwanted pregnancy prevention, abortion, and post abortion follow up. The results showed the significant impact of using electronic health on unwanted pregnancy prevention, abortion, and post abortion follow up. Conclusions: Health technologies have the potential to be used as a low cost and accessible method to replace abortion services. They can facilitate remote care and quick access to information to complete the gaps in access to abortion. Introduction: Patients with colorectal cancer experience disabilities and complications that lead to reduced quality of life. To reduce the symptoms and complications of the disease, reduce the costs, and increase the quality of life, patients should manage and control their disease. The aim of this study was to identify the requirements of a mobile-based application for self-management of patients with colorectal cancer. Methods: The present descriptive-applied research was conducted from 2020 to 2021. The requirements of the colorectal cancer application (including educational content, data elements, and capabilities) were assessed using needs assessments from patients, physicians, and nurses. The questionnaire was distributed among 114 people at the Cancer Institute and Firouzgar Hospital in Tehran. The obtained data (88 cases) were analyzed using the SPSS software, and the required components were identified. Results: Except the need for training for fatigue, other educational needs were considered necessary. In terms of essential data elements and according to the perspective of the patients, physicians, and nurses, the clinical data were more important than the demographic data. In addition, out of 79 features in 10 categories including drug management, nutrition and diet management, pain management, fatigue management, stress reduction and control, anxiety and depression, sleep management, exercise and physical activity, smoking and alcohol cessation, communication, and ancillary tools of a self-management application, 39 features were considered necessary. Conclusion: Applying the requirements mentioned in the present study can improve the self-management of the patients with colorectal cancer. Introduction: Recent advancements in generative AI, exemplified by ChatGPT, hold promise for healthcare applications such as decision-making support, education, and patient engagement. However, rigorous evaluation is crucial to ensure reliability and safety in clinical contexts. This scoping review explores ChatGPT's role in clinical inquiry, focusing on its characteristics, applications, challenges, and evaluation., Methods: This review, conducted in 2023, followed PRISMA-ScR guidelines (Supplemental Digital Content 1, http://links.lww.com/MS9/A636). Searches were performed across PubMed, Scopus, IEEE, Web of Science, Cochrane, and Google Scholar using relevant keywords. The review explored ChatGPT's effectiveness in various medical domains, evaluation methods, target users, and comparisons with other AI models. Data synthesis and analysis incorporated both quantitative and qualitative approaches., Results: Analysis of 41 academic studies highlights ChatGPT's potential in medical education, patient care, and decision support, though performance varies by medical specialty and linguistic context. GPT-3.5, frequently referenced in 26 studies, demonstrated adaptability across diverse scenarios. Challenges include limited access to official answer keys and inconsistent performance, underscoring the need for ongoing refinement. Evaluation methods, including expert comparisons and statistical analyses, provided significant insights into ChatGPT's efficacy. The identification of target users, such as medical educators and nonexpert clinicians, illustrates its broad applicability., Conclusion: ChatGPT shows significant potential in enhancing clinical practice and medical education. Background: The Minimum Data Set (MDS) plays a vital role in data exchange, collection and quality improvement. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need for a tailored MDS that aligns with the specific information needs of the Iranian community and integrates seamlessly into the country's Hospital Information Systems (HIS)., Objective: The study aimed to develop a comprehensive MDS for COVID-19 patients in Iran, with objectives to identify essential data elements and integrate the MDS into HIS, enhancing data exchange and supporting decision-making., Method: This study employed a comparative-descriptive approach to design COVID-19 patient data elements based on World Health Organisation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. The Delphi technique involved 35 experts in two rounds for checklist refinement. The finalised MDS consisted of 9 main terms and 80 sub-terms, analysed using descriptive statistics and IBM SPSS software., Results: Of 35 experts involved with the study, 69% were male and 31% female, and Health Information Management experts were the majority (34%). The refined MDS for COVID-19 in Iran comprises 50 data elements, while 30 elements were excluded. The MDS includes 8 main terms and 80 sub-terms, with unanimous approval for identity, underlying disease, and treatment sections., Conclusion: The customised MDS for COVID-19 patients in Iran addresses data collection challenges and supports effective disease prevention and management.
