Asian rice gall midge, Orseolia oryzae (Wood-Mason) is the important endemic pest of Rice crop in the North coastal zone of Andhra Pradesh causing grain yield losses. A field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2022 at Agriculture College farm, Naira to know the relationship of various abiotic parameters with rice gall midge incidence in four different dates of sowings. The peak incidence of rice gall midge was noticed with 13.14 per cent silver shoots during the 46th SMW (Standard Meteorological Week) on the fourth date of sowing (17-09-2022). The correlation studies between percent silver shoots (fourth date of sowing) and abiotic factors revealed that maximum temperature (r = -0.245), morning relative humidity (r = -0.384) and rainfall (r = -0.121) showed a non-significant negative correlation, whereas minimum temperature (r = 0.613) showed nonsignificant positive correlation and evening relative humidity (r = 0.774) showed a significant positive correlation.
