This paper explores whether a Serbia preschool institution is prepared for education during the pandemic. The research subject is nine kindergarten-preschool units where 140 teachers work with about 2500 children up to 6.5 years. We examined all teachers that work in preschool units. The study aims, for a case study of music education, to answer: Whether the COVID-19 pandemic affected the change in the educational work in the field of music in preschool; Can web-based applications and educational resources improve preschool music outcomes, especially during a pandemic; Would web applications and educational resources reduce financial costs; Would web applications and educational resources enhance parent-teacher communication. The findings show preschool teachers mostly use traditional offline educational techniques and tools but need more online learning tools, Web resources, and applications, especially when working remotely. They believe such resources can reduce financial costs and improve parent-teacher communication. The study found that the pandemic has forced changes in practice. However, according to teachers, these changes can enhance future post-pandemic practice thanks to web-based educational technologies that more closely connect all participants in early childhood education. - Abstract
In Serbia, modern pork production systems with implemented control measures, including the detection of Trichinella larvae in meat (ISO18743), have eliminated farmed pork from pigs slaughtered at abattoirs as a source of trichinellosis. Epidemiological data from 2011 to 2020 indicate that the number of human cases and the number of infected domestic pigs has decreased significantly. Over the years, pork was the most frequent source of human infection. Cases generally occurred in small family outbreaks, and the infection was linked to consumption of raw or undercooked pork from backyard pigs. In most of the outbreaks, T. spiralis was the aetiological agent of infection, but in 2016, a large outbreak was caused by consumption of uninspected wild boar meat containing T. britovi larvae. To achieve safe pork, it is important that consumers of pork from animals raised in backyard smallholdings and of wild game meat are properly educated about the risks associated with consumption of untested meat. Laboratories conducting Trichinella testing should have a functional quality assurance system to ensure competency of analysts and that accurate and repeatable results are achieved. Regular participation in proficiency testing is needed.

- Abstract
Naša iskustva pokazuju da redovno učešće u eksternim kontrolama kvaliteta pregleda dovodi do postizanja boljih rezultata laboratorija kroz vreme i bolje zaštite potrošača. Takođe, poželjno je da sve ove laboratorije imaju referentni materijal (larve trihinela u alkoholu) i po potrebi zatraže probne uzorke radi treninga., In the European Union countries regular quality controls (PT) are carried out for the examination of meat samples for the presence of Trichinella larvae. All laboratories that use the method of artificial digestion of meat participate in these tests. The first such control in Serbia was successfully organized by INEP in 2017. In the following years, such controls were carried out regularly. During 2022, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine successfully organized control for laboratories from veterinary specialist institutes, some veterinary stations and slaughterhouses. At the end of 2022, INEP was appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Veterinary Directorate as the National Reference Laboratory for the detection of Trichinella in meat (NRLT). During 2023, NRLT organized a new quality control. Our experience shows that regular participation in external quality control leads to better laboratory results over time and better consumer protection. It is necessary that all laboratories in Serbia (which control meat for the presence of Trichinella larvae) and in the surrounding countries participate in such controls at least once a year, as well as aditionally when they have a new team member. Also, it is desirable that all these laboratories have a reference material (Trichinella larvae in alcohol) and, if necessary, request test samples for training purposes.

- Abstract
This paper examines ideas, meanings, and motives in The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. By studying the symbols present in this literary curiosity, we point out the multiplicity of meanings that make this modern fantasy story a read for children and adults. The complexity of The Little Prince, the ambiguity of its elements, and the intertwining of motives, ideas, and messages of this paper, can be a real challenge for young readers when it comes to proper interpretation. There is a question of whether this literary work is intended for children at all? To facilitate students’ understanding and provide a complete emotional experience, we propose the application of individualized teaching, a model of work that allows each child following their intellectual, cognitive, emotional, and other abilities, to adopt a literary text and appropriately engage reception. Literature, as the art of words, should be able to provide an opportunity for recipients to get to know a literary work in their way, that is, following their abilities and sensibility, and to understand all its compositional layers.

- Abstract
2. In Serbia Trichinellosis is one of the most important foodborne zoonotic diseases. The first report of swine infection was in 1918 and first human case was in 1923. From 1984 artificial digestion was adopted for use in preventing human trichinellosis. Modern pork production systems, implemented control measures, artificial digestion method have eliminated farm pork as a source for trichinellosis. For the first time in Serbia National Reference Laboratory for trichinellosis (NRLT) organized in 2017 proficiency test (PT) for the detection of Trichinella larvae in meat by Magnetic Stirrer Method (MSM). All participants (veterinary institutes) successfully passed the testing. Members of NRLT team made (in 2019) new cELISA test for detection of Trichinella infection in animals and humans and the ICT recognized the test as useful for international use. Epidemiological data from the last decades indicate that the number of human cases as well as the number of infected animals has decreased significantly. Over the years, pork was the most frequent source of human trichinellosis. Cases generally occurred in family outbreaks and risk is linked to untested backyard pork consumption. Meat and meat products offered to relatives and friends may be source of infection with Trichinella when backyard pigs are raised without any compliance with hygienic rules and animals are not veterinary tested. In most numbers of outbreaks T. spiralis were the etiological agent of infection but in 2016 we had a large outbreak provoked by consumption of wild boar meat containing T britovi larvae. It is important that: 1. Hunters and consumers of backyard pigs and wild game meat should be educated about the risk associated with consumption of untested meat. 2. Control of Trichinella QA system in veterinary subjects (testing for Trichinella presence in meat samples) and regularly participation in PTs are needed to achieve safe food for consumers.

Long years of work experience with younger school pupils has demon-strated to us that contemporary teaching practices face multiple diffi-cult challenges when it comes to the realization of educational goals and assignments, and consequently the successful adoption of the appropriate teaching content envisaged by the plan or curriculum. One of the difficulties is the interpretation and seizing of literary prose texts for children of younger school ages, a challenge which should be given much more attention, since this type of literature significantly influen-ces the formation of students’ attitudes and opinions as well as influen-cing the formation of their entire personality. Through this research project, we are attempting to seek out and propose an appropriate met-hodical solution to the challenge of the interpretation and appreciation of literary prose works. In order to be able to propose an appropriate solution we first need to investigate the ability of children of younger primary school grades to seize and appreciate literary prose texts. Therefore, it is necessary to examine and discover which problems students are most often faced with, in order to be able to suggest possible ways of better interpretation of prose works for the purpose of their more complete reception, under-standing and appreciation by the children. We propose individualized teaching as a possible solution, since it adapts to the individual abilities and preferences of each student and enables him to progress at a pace that suits him. Thus, the subject matter of this research is the experi-mental examination and study of the efficacy of the application of indi-vidualized teaching in the processing of prose literary texts. Accor-dingly, the aim of the research is to examine how the application of individualized teaching in the preparation of prose literary works for children in younger primary school grades works to contribute to their more complete reception and understanding by students, and to what extent it can contribute to the successful realization of the set goals of the teaching plan. A well-designed implementation of individualized teaching based pre-cisely on the adaptation of the content, methods and forms of teaching to students' abilities, enables a realization of expected results and offers an opportunity for students to progress at a pace consistent with their psycho-physical uniqueness. In this research project, we attempt to demonstrate that an adequate application of individualized teaching in the processing of literary prose work contributes to their successful interpretation and understanding, and thus to the elimination of the shortcomings found in the traditional way of presenting these literary works.

This paper discusses the possibility of teaching prose literary texts in the first cycle of primary education using individualized instruction in order to highlight its effectiveness in helping students grasp this type of learning content. The conducted experimental research aimed to examine how the application of individualized teaching to the process of teaching prose literary works in the lower grades of primary school contributes to their more complete understanding. The results obtained have shown that the experimental group, which learned the planned teaching units by using the individualized instruction approach achieved significantly better results compared to the control group, which worked in the usual way. linear distance ,hierarchical distance ,kombinovano slaganje ,konjunkcijsko slaganje ,grammatical number ,grammatical gender ,gramatički broj ,conjunct agreement ,linearna distanca ,hijerarhijska distanca ,mixed agreement ,gramatički rod - Abstract
This dissertation will use the experimental method to examine the influence of grammatical characteristics of coordinated conjuncts, such as the value of grammatical gender, the value of grammatical number, linear and hierarchical distance, as well as semantic properties such as referential properties, division of modifiers, on the verb agreement with the whole coordinated subject (i.e. resolved agreement), on the first conjunct agreement, or last conjunct agreement. The aim is to give a model for processing agreement in the Serbian language, but also to respond to significant theoretical questions such as whether agreement also occurs in the interface with phonology, and what is the role of gender and number in the process of agreement in the Serbian language. The aim is to also determine which factors influence the verb gender agreement with the first member of the coordinated subject, as well as to determine if the Serbian language supports the hypothesis according to which gender and number are separate and they separately participate in the agreement process. The results of the production experiments and acceptability judgments experiments which test the verb agreement with the coordinated modified subject show that verb agreement with the last conjunct is the most frequently used pattern of agreement. This pattern is significantly less productive for the condition where the first member of the coordinated subject is modified than when the last member is modified, or when both members are modified. For that same condition, the first conjunct agreement is significantly more productive than for the other two conditions. When the linear distance between the first conjunct and the verb is minimized, that also reduces the chances of gender agreement of the verb with the last conjunct which is linearly closest to it. Our results confirm that linear distance is a factor that affects not only last conjunct agreement, but also the verb gender agreement with the first conjunct. The results also confirm that the patterns of agreement compete in determining the agreement controller in the same grammar.12 The results of elicited production experiments and acceptability judgments experiments which test the effect of syncretism on the verb gender agreement show that resolved agreement is more significantly reduced when the last member of the coordinated subject is plural, than when the first member of the coordinated subject is plural. These results confirm that linear distance more significantly reduces the chances of unsuccessful agreement than hierarchical distance. In the conducted experimental research the occurrence of mixed agreement in the Serbian language has been confirmed, contrary to the claims of Maretić (1899), Korbet (1983a), Bošković (2009) for Serbian, Marušić et al. (2015) for Slovenian, and in agreement with recent research conducted by Arsenijević and Mitić (2016a) for Serbian, and Fuchs et al. (2015) for the Spanish language. The pattern of mixed agreement, as a pattern where the controller of the gender agreement is female singular, while the controller for number agreement is plural, confirms that there are situations in the Serbian language where gender value can prevail in competition with the number value. The results support the hypothesis that gender and number are separate in the Serbian language, and that they can separately participate in the agreement process.

- Abstract
Our results confirm that linear distance is a factor that affects not only last conjunct agreement, but also the verb gender agreement with the first co

SLAVIC languages ,VERBS - Abstract
A recurring hypothesis about the agreement phenomena generalized as closest‐conjunct agreement takes this pattern to result from reduced clausal conjunction, simply displaying the agreement of the verb with the nonconjoined subject of the clause whose content survives ellipsis (Aoun, Benmamoun & Sportiche 1994, 1999; see also Wilder 1997). Closest‐conjunct agreement is the dominant agreement pattern in the South Slavic languages Slovenian and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. A natural question is whether closest‐conjunct agreement in these varieties may indeed be analyzed as entirely derived from conjunction reduction. In this article, we report on two experiments conducted to test this. The results reject the hypothesis as far as these languages are concerned, thereby upholding the relevance of models developed to account for closest‐conjunct agreement within theories of agreement. Recent studies indicated that Trichinella spiralis infection could successfully ameliorate or even prevent a number of autoimmune diseases established in animal models, such as experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), experimental colitis, type 1 diabetes mellitus. During the course of infection parasite T. spiralis communicates with the host organism and affects cells of the immune system through excretory-secretory products (ES L1) released from the muscle larvae. Mechanisms by which ES L1 influences polarization of immune response and its role in immunomodulation of autoimmune diseases has not been elucidated yet. In the current study, the potential of T. spiralis ES L1 products, injected directly or co-cultivated with dendritic cells (DCs), to promote immune regulation and control EAE development were investigated in order to reveal mechanisms of ongoing immunomodulation and the role of DCs in it. Results presented here confirmed that in vitro stimulation of DCs with T. spiralis ES L1 antigens led to partial maturation of these cells, as indicated by expression of the surface markers. Stimulation of DCs from DA rats with T. spiralis ES L1 antigens (DCs/ES L1) also resulted in significant reduction in IL-12p70 production and increased production of IL-10. In this study it was shown for the first time that application of DCs/ES L1 was able to reduce the clinical signs and duration of the EAE in a dose-dependent way, with the dose of 5 x 106 cells being most efficient in reduction of disease severity. The analysis of underlying mechanisms indicated that amelioration of EAE in DCs/ES L1 pretreated animals was due to decreased production of pro-inflammatory (IFN-γ and IL-17), increased production of Th2 and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-4, IL-10 and TGF-β), as well as activation of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulatory T cells (Treg) both on systemic level in spleen and in target organ, i.e. spinal cord. Another approach included assessment of the immunomodulatory capacity of prophylactic administration of T. spiralis ES L1 antigens in DA rats applied in different doses and time points before EAE induction...

We conducted a comparison of preverbal and postverbal subjectverb agreement in an elicited production study carried out with 60 speakers of different language varieties in South Slavic, spanning Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, and Slovenian at six local universities. These languages have three genders, and we measured the response type and total reaction time for production for the nine possible combinations of two plural noun phrases. Elicited production experiments for the preverbal and postverbal versions were conducted separately, with 54 items and 54 fillers. A sample target item involved a model sentence, immediately followed by a replacement phrase, and participants had to produce the entire sentence that resulted from combining the new replacement subject noun phrase (a coordination, such as the books and the magazines), with the remaining predicate, making morphosyntactic adjustments where necessary (e.g. in agreement). Our analysis of the gender agreement reveals that preverbal versus postverbal positioning make a large difference in the availability with the linearly furthest conjunct: while highest agreement is possible preverbally (e.g. the FN and NF columns), lowest-conjunct agreement is essentially unattested postverbally. In terms of reaction times, we find longest latencies for the conditions where speakers have the most grammatical options to choose among, suggesting that all three strategies are in principle available, although constrained by syntactic (hierarchical) and morphological factors (default masculine and relative markedness). The consequences of these results will be discussed with respect to three recent theoretical models of closest-conjunct agreement in South Slavic (Boskovic 2009, Puskar & Murphy 2014, Marusic, Nevins & Badecker 2015).

- Abstract
Hierarchical structure has been cherished as a grammatical universal. We use experimental methods to show where linear order is also a relevant syntactic relation. An identical methodology and design were used across six research sites on South Slavic languages. Experimental results show that in certain configurations, grammatical production can in fact favor linear order over hierarchical structure. However, these findings are limited to coordinate structures and distinct from the kind of production errors found with comparable configurations such as "attraction" errors. The results demonstrate that agreement morphology may be computed in a series of steps, one of which is partly independent from syntactic hierarchy., Competing Interests: The authors declare no conflict of interest., (Copyright © 2018 the Author(s).
