The syntheses, structures, luminescence and magnetic properties of a new series of Ln(III) complexes of the formula [Ln(L)(H2O)2(DMF)2][Ln(L)2] (in which H2L is N,N′-ethylaminebis[1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-formylimino-2-pyrazoline-5-one]; Ln(III) – Gd (1), Tb (2), or Dy (3) ions). The crystal structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurements for all the above-mentioned complexes. The crystals of these compounds consist of cationic [Ln(L)(H2O)2(DMF)2]+ and anionic [Ln(L)2] moieties which form a 3D supramolecular architecture by the H-bonds and electrostatic forces. Luminescence emission in the visible range was observed for Tb(III) and Dy(III) compounds upon ligand sensitization, with moderate quantum yields of 3.2% for the Dy complex and 24.2% for the Tb analogue. Moreover the Tb(III) complex demonstrates triboluminescence activity. The dynamic magnetization studies revealed that 1 and 2 demonstrate field-induced magnetic relaxation with effective energy barriers, ΔE‖kB = 24 K (for 1) and 85 K (for 2), while the Dy complex 3 exhibits slow relaxation of magnetization in zero field with an activation energy of 256 K. Two new Schiff base compounds of N‐{2‐[(E)‐сyclohexyliminomethyl]phenyl}‐4‐methylbenzenesulfonamide, N‐{2‐[(E)‐(4‐сyclohexylphenyl)iminomethyl]phenyl}‐4‐methylbenzenesulfonamide and their Zn(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT‐IR and UV–Vis spectra, and single crystal X‐ray determination. In both complexes, Zn2+ ions have a tetrahedral environment with two nitrogen atoms of the tosylamide groups and two nitrogen atoms of the imine fragment. Time‐dependent density functional theory calculations have been performed on two zinc(II) complexes in order to assign their experimental UV–visible absorption bands. Zinc(II) complexes showed thermal stability up to 335–340°C under a nitrogen atmosphere by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The photoluminescent spectra show that both Zn(II) complexes in the solid state at room temperature emit blue luminescence with high emission quantum yields of 20% and 29%. The doped devices with configurations of indium tin oxide (ITO)/poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)/N,N′‐Di(1‐naphthyl)‐N,N′‐diphenyl‐(1,1′‐biphenyl)‐4,4′‐diamine (NPD)/4,4′‐N,N′ ‐dicarbazolebiphenyl (CBP):Zinc(II) complex (5%)/1,3,5‐tris(N‐phenylbenzimidazole‐2‐yl) benzene (TPBI)/LiF/Al have been fabricated and investigated. The doped device based on the complex with the сyclohexylphenyl substituent of the ligand showed the best electroluminescent characteristics with maximum brightness Lmax of 3415 cd/m2, maximum current efficiency of 2.8 cd/A, and power efficiency of 1.9 lm/W, while the doped device with emitter on the base of the complex with the сyclohexyl substituent showed slightly worse electroluminescence (EL) performance with Lmax of 2105 cd/m2, maximum current efficiency of 2.1 cd/A, and power efficiency of 1.6 lm/W. Three new mononuclear heteroleptic copper(I) halide complexes, [CuL(PPh3)2X] (X = Cl, Br, I), based on 3-phenyl-5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (L) and triphenylphosphine (PPh3) ligands, have been prepared by reaction of CuX (X = Cl, Br, I), L and PPh3 in a molar ratio of 1 : 1 : 2 in MeCN solutions. The synthesized complexes exhibit blue light emission in solutions and bright green emission in the crystal state with quantum yields of up to 100%. The luminescence decay analysis and density functional theory calculations revealed that the emission of solid samples at room temperature corresponds to the thermally activated delayed fluorescence, while that at 77 K is assigned to phosphorescence. Utilizing the studied complexes in OLED heterostructures resulted in high-performing green-emitting devices with an external quantum efficiency of up to 13.4%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The results of the asymmetric magneto-optical rotation in the magnetoplasmonic nanocomposite study are presented. The asymmetry is observed in spectra of magneto-optical rotation when a magneto-optical medium with a plasmonic subsystem is magnetized along or against the radiation wave vector. The asymmetry is observed as vertical displacement of a magneto-optical hysteresis loop too. Such asymmetry is detected in magnetoplasmonic nanocomposite, which consists of a magneto-optical layer of Bi substituted iron-garnet intercalated with a plasmonic subsystem of gold self-assembled nanoparticles. It is shown that the physical reason for the asymmetric magneto-optical rotation is the manifestation of the Cotton–Mouton birefringence effect when the normal magnetization of the sample to a radiation wave vector appears due to the magnetic component of the electromagnetic field of resonating nanoparticles. Magnetically recyclable direct Z-scheme CoFe2O4-loaded g-C3N4 photocatalyst material was fabricated using a facile hydrothermal technique and subsequently characterized by XRD, VSM, PL, FT-IR, EDX, DRS, SEM, and BET techniques. The characterization results confirmed that nanoparticles of CoFe2O4 are loaded on the surface of g-C3N4 sheets. The optical band gap of g-C3N4 has been decreased from 2.65 eV to 1.30 eV by means of the loading of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles onto the nanosheets of g-C3N4. This has enhanced the separation process of electron-hole. Under visible light irradiation, the photocatalytic activity of the developed direct Z-scheme CoFe2O4-loaded g-C3N4 photocatalyst was evaluated for the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB); during this process the MB decomposed by up to 98.86% in 140 min. Meanwhile, under the same irradiation and time conditions, the g-C3N4 and CoFe2O4 themselves degraded MB up to 74.92% and 51.53%, respectively. The direct Z-scheme CoFe2O4-loaded g-C3N4 material was recovered from the solution after the photocatalytic activity using an external magnet and studied to determine its stability.
