BackgroundBurnout has become a prominent issue as the increase of workload in family doctor team members in primary healthcare institutions during the promotion of contracted family doctor services. There is still a lack of research comparing the differences in burnout among family doctor team members in different types of primary healthcare institutions.ObjectiveTo compare burnout prevalence and associated factors between family doctors in community/township health centers, and those in community health stations/village clinics, providing a basis for improving the mental health status and team stability of family doctors, as well as the quality of services provided by them.MethodsFrom August 1 to 21, 2020, a multistage cluster random sampling method was used to select 760 family doctor team members〔201 (26.4%) working at community/township health centers, and 559 (73.6%) working at community health stations/village clinics〕 as the participants from primary healthcare institutions in 6 counties/county-level cities /districts of Taian City, Shandong Province. They were invited to attend a survey to complete Demographic Questionnaire and the Chinese version of Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) .ResultsOverall, the prevalence of burnout among the participants was 68.9% (524/760) . Overall, the prevalence of burnout among the participants was 68.9% (524/760) , and the prevalence of burnoutof family doctor team members in community/township health centers and community health stations/village clinics was 63.7% (128/201) and 70.8% (396/559) , respectively. The levels of burnout of family doctor team members in community health stations/village clinics was higher than that of those in community/township health centers, with a statistically significant difference (P4 000 yuan is lower than that with monthly income

Background: Little empirical evidences were provided on the disparity in the level of loneliness between the migrant older with children (MOC) and their local counterpart in China. This study aimed to explore the association between social participation and loneliness and verify whether there was a local-migrant difference in this association. Methods: A total of 1332 older people (60 +) were included in this study with 656 MOC and 676 natives. Loneliness was assessed by the University of California Los Angeles Loneliness Scale with eight items (ULS-8). Social participation was evaluated by three kinds of social activities concerning sports activities, hobby activities and community resident interaction. Univariate analysis was conducted to compare the local-migrant disparity as well as the level of loneliness between different subgroups. Hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the proposed relationship and the moderating influence of migration status. Results: The average ULS-8 scores were 11.73 ± 4.02 for local subjects and 12.82 ± 4.05 for MOC respectively, indicating a lower level of loneliness among local older people. Participating in hobby activities (β = -0.092, P = 0.003) and interacting with residents (β = -0.216, P = 0.001) more frequently were related to lower level of loneliness while participating in square dancing was related to higher level of loneliness (β = 0.087, P = 0.001). The negative relationships between hobby activities as well as resident interaction and loneliness were more profound in migrants than natives. Conclusions: Only two types of social participation could help alleviate loneliness. More attention to older migrants' loneliness and extending the scale and types of social activities were recommended for policymakers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Our research intended to explore the association and mediators (perceived social support and sleep quality) between the impact of oral health‐related quality of life (OHRQoL) and depression among Chinese older adults. Methods: A stratified, multi‐stage random sampling approach was used in our study. A total of 3896 older individuals aged 60 years and older were included. Process macro 3.5 for SPSS was utilized for testing mediation hypotheses. Results: The mean score of the OHRQoL of the elderly was 3.26 ± 7.15. The correlation coefficient between OHRQoL and depression was 0.25 (p < 0.001). Perceived social support (β = 0.009, 95% CI = 0.006, 0.012) and sleep quality (β = 0.073, 95% CI = 0.074, 0.093) mediated the relationship between OHRQoL and depression, respectively. The association between OHRQoL and depression was mediated sequentially by perceived social support and sleep quality (β = 0.004, 95% CI = 0.002, 0.006). Conclusions: The participants reported relatively good OHRQoL. OHRQoL and depression showed a significant positive correlation. The relationship between OHRQoL and depression among Chinese seniors was mediated by perceived social support and sleep quality. Both directly and indirectly, OHRQoL can affect depression. The low efficiency of light and nitrogen resources, poor yield and profit, and environmental pollution of maize production are main problems in many areas of China. We hypothesized that optimizing nitrogen fertilizer density management strategies could alleviate the above issues. To address this, a 3-year on-site experiment with three planting densities and four nitrogen rates was conducted in the Sichuan Hilly Region. The results indicated that increasing the planting density could increase the extinction coefficient and solar radiation interception of maize populations as well as enhance the utilization efficiency of light and nitrogen resources and yield. For every 100 kg ha−1 increase in nitrogen fertilizer, RUE increased by 0.16%, NUE decreased by 25.0%, and soil apparent nitrogen loss quantity increased by 67.8 kg ha−1. There was a certain interaction between planting density and nitrogen rate. The appropriate planting density and nitrogen rate combination was 67,500 plants ha−1 with 180 kg N ha−1 under the experimental condition. Excessive close planting in weak-light areas and excessive nitrogen reduction after densification are not advisable. This study indicated that nitrogen–density strategies should be matched with the local natural resources such as sunlight. Soil amendments aiming to enhance soil quality and bolster carbon sequestration have been extensively investigated. However, the specific impacts of diverse soil amendment types on soil total organic carbon content (TOC), soil aggregate and the growth of ryegrass remain largely unexplored, particularly within the unique context of alpine grassland soils in northwest Sichuan. For this, four soil amendments (CK: no soil amendment, CM: cattle manure 2000 kg ha−1, CS: straw amendment 12,000 kg ha−1 and MS: mushroom substrate 18,000 kg ha−1) were applied to alpine grassland soils over a 2‐year duration, conducted in situ during 2017 and 2018, to investigate the influences of these soil amendments on 0–30 cm soil of TOC, total nitrogen (TN), microbial biomass carbon (MBC), soil aggregation, the above‐ground biomass (DMA) and root traits of ryegrass. Compared to CK, the above‐ground biomass exhibited an average of 348.78% in MS, 287.18% in CS and 115.54% in CM, all reaching statistical significance (p <.05). In the topsoil (0–10 cm), the large soil aggregate rate (LSAR > 0.25 mm) showed a significant increase in CM, CS and MS, particularly in 2018, compared to CK. Our findings further indicated that the improvement in alpine grassland LSAR > 0.25 mm was correlated with a rise in TOC by over 69.89% and MBC by more than 27.14%. The MS treatment resulted in a significant increase in above‐ground biomass and TRL (total root length), while also increasing the levels of TN, MBC and soil aggregates (0.25 ~ 0.5 mm) within the 0–10 cm soil. A similar result of CS treatment was observed to increase the total chlorophyll content and RD (root diameter), as well as an increase in SWC and TOC levels. The TN, MBC, TOC and LSAR contributed 44.77%, 20.87%, 6.46% and 6.45% for ryegrass growth. The SEM indicated that soil amendments promote the growth of ryegrass by improving soil agglomerate and increasing MBC, TOC and TN. Our analysis revealed that ryegrass biomass production was limited by soil nutrients in the alpine grassland of northwest Sichuan.
