This present study aims to contribute to the literature in understanding the roles of roller burnishing parameters and conditions on Inconel 718 alloy fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). The roller burnishing process was performed with three burnishing forces (300 N, 600 N, 900 N) and under three cooling conditions (namely cryogenic, dry, and preheat). The effects on surface integrity characteristics including surface roughness, microstructure, microhardness, and XRD were investigated. The results illustrate that the burnishing force remarkably influences the decrease the surface roughness under all burnishing conditions. It was possible to reduce the surface roughness from 23 µm to 0.794 µm after turning applied to the as-built part followed by roller burnishing with 900N under dry conditions. When the microstructures were examined, the roller burnishing process caused plastic deformations and reductions in grain sizes. It was observed that the affected layer depth could reach 4.3 µm with 900N under preheat conditions. With the roller burnishing process, it was possible to increase the surface microhardness by 21% depending on the parameter and condition. The roller burnishing process had notable effects on XRD patterns of Inconel 718 alloy fabricated by LPBF. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

18. Comparison of finite element and empirical model prediction of surface residual stress in inconel 718 parts fabricated by laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing

- Abstract
Inconel 718 parts produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) generally have excessive residual stresses (RS) due to the extreme temperature gradients and high cooling rates that occur during production. These stresses can damage the mechanical properties and fatigue life of parts. Therefore, RS are one of the main reasons that hinder the widespread use of the LPBF process. The main purpose of this study is to predict the RS that may occur by finite element modeling and empirical approach of the production process in order to minimize the RS and distortions that occur during production. According to the simulation and theoretical calculation results, it has been observed that the RS in the build direction are generally large tensile stresses in the upper and lower regions and compressive stresses in a large middle region in between. One of the most important parameters that determine the residual stress magnitude is the scanning speed, which affects the energy density. The change in energy density due to constant laser power and increasing laser speed alters the amount of residual stress in the parts. This paper illustrates that when fabricating components with lower energy density leads to an increase of tensile residual stress, however, increasing energy density with altering process parameters results in reduced tensile residual stress., Journal of Additive Manufacturing Technologies, Vol. 1 No. 3 (2021): J AM Tech

Informal work is one of the biggest problems of Turkey and will be examined within the scope of this thesis. Informal employment is one of the deeprooted problems that need to be solved in the country. Informal employment occurs when the services of perso are not reported to government institutions at all or are underns reported. As a result of this event, there is a great damage to the country's economy and the loss of taxes that Turkey can obtain. In addition, with the nonpayment of SSI premiums, this i nstitution comes to the stage of collapse and the health system of the country is also affected by this. In order to better understand unregistered employment, it is necessary to comply with the regulations in the Labor Law. Thus, the solution of the prob lem is reached faster within the framework of legal rules. Informality in employment is seen in smallscale enterprises. These businesses choose this way in order to be able to compete with large businesses in their business life. In addition, there is an intense migration to our country due to reasons such as war and economic problems in the surrounding countries. The incoming people are employed as illegal workers in order to earn their livelihood. This hurts both those people and the citizens of our cou ntry. The aim of this thesis is to provide a solution to the unregistered employment problem both for our country and for our citizens. No sponsor

Additive manufacturing is a rapidly developing field due to the production of complex geometry parts with rapid prototyping with a wide range of applications. In addition to the great advantages, Additive manufacturing produces components with relatively poor surface quality. For this reason, post-processing operations are inevitable to have ready-to-use products. Various post-processing operations including mechanical, chemical and thermal are being implemented to components fabricated by additive manufacturing processes. The purpose of this article is to review chemical post-processing operations and their effect on surface enhancement. This review study shows that chemical post-processing operations have great potential to improve surface aspects of components fabricated by additive manufacturing.

Bulgular: Çalışmaya aldığımız hastaların 12 (%40)'si kadın, 18 (%60)'i erkekti. Yine hastaların 11 (%37)'i sağ taraftan ve 19 (%63)'u sol taraftan operasyon geçirdi. Introduction and Objectives: Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is the gold standard for the treatment of symptomatic patients with atherosclerotic carotid disease. However, benefit of the CEA procedure depends on the rate of peri- and postoperative adverse neurological events. Stroke is related to perioperative morbidity and mortality associated with CEA. Therefore, neuromonitoring is important for being detected cerebral ischemia during and after CEA, and also allows the surgeon to perform appropriate action during surgery. Traditional methods of cerebral monitoring are being replaced with new, easy-to-use techniques that allow continued monitoring of regional cerebral oxygen saturation. The aim of this study is to evaluate cerebral oxygenation changes induced especially by carotid cross clamping using NIRS (Near Infrared Spectroscopy) monitoring in patients undergoing CEA under general anesthesia.Material and Method: The study includes 30 patients of ASA II-Ⅲ individuals who will undergo CEA surgery under general anesthesia. Patients with uncontrolled cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic disease, any intracranial pathology and difficult airway criteria, patients with preop hemoglobin values below 10 gr/dl and above 17 gr/dl and patients refusing to participate in the study have not been included. In our study, preop age, weight, gender, EF (ejection fraction), hemoglobin values and carotid stenosis levels of patients have been recorded. Half an hour before the operation, premedication has been performed by applying midazolam (Midolam Pharmada, 5mg/1ml) 0.025-0.05 mg/kg intramuscularly. After the patients have been taken to the operating table and their respiratory and cardiac monitoring has been achieved, systolic blood pressure (SBB), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), and peripheral oxygen saturation (SpO2) and regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) values have been recorded as right and left sides. These values have been recorded as baseline values. After 2 minutes of preoxygenation, patients have been administered thiopenthal sodium (Pental Sodium İbrahim Etem Ulaga 1gr/1 flk) at a dose of 5-7 mg/kg in anesthesia induction. Fentanyl (Talinat Vem, 0.5mg/10ml) has been administered at a dose of 1-1.5 micrograms/kg in order to suppress the stress response. Then, the muscle relaxant agent rocuronium (Myocron Vem 50mg/5ml) has been intubated with the appropriate endotracheal tube using a dose of 0.5 mg/kg. During the operation, the patients' SBP, DBP, MAP, HR, SpO2, rSO2 and end tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2) values have been measured and recorded postoperatively before the carotid cross clamp, at the 3rd-5th and 10th minute of the carotid cross clamp start, 1 minute and 5 minutes after the cross clamp has been lifted. Results: Twelve (40%) of the patients having been enrolled in the study have been female and 18 (60%) of patients have been male. 11 (37%) of the patients have had an operation on the right side and 19 (63%) of patients have had an operation on the left side. That Cross-clamp time of the patients is 7 minutes low, the highest 14 minutes, and an average of 9.96±1.9 minutes has been found. When the rSO2 values having been measured at different times of the individuals having been included in the study have been compared, that the difference is significant has been considered (p0.05). While the difference between the left side mean rSO2 values of the patients who have been included in the study and undergoing surgery on the left side (n:19) is significant has been considered (p0.05). In 3 (n:30) of patients have included in the study, there has been more than 20% decrease compared to baseline. The lowest rSO2 percentages of these 3 patients having been measured during basal cross-clamp have been found to be 24.5%, 27.02% and 27.8%, and the cross-clamp times of these patients have been remarked as 10 min, 8 min and 11 min, respectively. None of the patients having been included in the study has had any postoperative neurological complications. Conclusion: As a result, we have observed that there has been a significant decrease in cerebral oxygen saturation in patients undergoing CEA surgery under general anesthesia during cross-clamping and after cerebral clamp-opening, cerebral oxygen saturation has reached the basal value again or exceeded its baseline value. We think that cross-clamp time and the percentage of rSO2 decrease during cross-clamp can be effective in making shunt decision in patients under general anesthesia. We think that further studies are needed about this subject. 74

Sociological analysis ,Sociology ,Wood, Ellen Meiksins ,Sosyoloji ,Social class - Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ellen Meiksins Wood'un sosyolojinin tartışmalı kavramlarından biri olan toplumsal sınıfa yaklaşımını incelenmektir. İlk bölümde, sınıf kavramının nasıl ve hangi koşullarda ortaya çıktığı araştırılmış; bunun ardından, sınıf teorisinin temellerini atan Karl Marx'ın sınıf analizi değerlendirilmiştir. Buna göre, Marx diyalektik materyalist düşünce çerçevesi bağlamında, ekonomiyi bir toplumun belirleyici temeli olarak tanımlarken; mevcut sınıfları da toplumdaki hâkim üretim biçimine referansla, üretim ilişkilerindeki pozisyonları baz alarak açıklamıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, Louis Althusser, Nicos Poulantzas, Ernesto Laclau ve Chantal Mouffe gibi klasik Marksist anlayışa eleştirel yaklaşan isimlerin sınıf konusundaki görüşleri tartışılmıştır. Bunların seçilme gerekçesi, Wood'un sınıf üzerine yazılarında, bu isimlerin çağdaş sosyalist kanatta yer alma iddialarına rağmen, Marx'ın sınıf kuramını adeta ters yüz ettikleri varsayımıyla eleştirilerinin odağında yer almaları olmuştur. Üçüncü bölümde ise, Wood'un, Yeni Hakiki Sosyalist hareket ve post-Marksist yaklaşımlara getirdiği eleştiriler çerçevesinde, sınıfı nasıl kavramsallaştırdığına dair ayrıntılı bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Yazar, bu kapsamda, öncelikle iktisadî ilişkilerin sınıf pozisyonlarının belirlenmesindeki önceliğini vurgulamaktadır. Bunun yanında ise, eleştirdiği isimlerin aksine, günümüzde işçi sınıfının çıkarları aleyhinde gelişen kapitalist üretim düzen ve ilişkilerini devrim yoluyla alaşağı edecek yegâne aktör olduğunun altını ısrarla çizmektedir.Anahtar kelimeler: Karl Marx, post-Marksistler, Ellen Meiksins Wood, toplumsal sınıf. The aim of this study is to examine Ellen Meiksins Wood's approach to social class which is one of the controversial concepts of sociology. In the first part, how and under what conditions the concept of class emerged is investigated. Then, Karl Marx's class analysis, which laid the foundations of class theory, is evaluated. Accordingly, in the context of the dialectical materialist framework, Marx defined the economy as the decisive basis of a society. Besides, he described classes with reference to the dominant mode of production in the society, based on the positions in the antagonistic relations of production. In the second part of the study, the class conceptions of Louis Althusser, Nicos Poulantzas, Ernesto Laclau, and Chantal Mouffe who are critical of classical Marxist understanding are discussed. The reason for their selection is about the fact that these names have been harshly criticized by Wood in her writings on class, assuming that they distinctly contradict Marx's class theory despite their claims to take part in the socialist wing.In the third part, a detailed assessment of how Wood conceptualizes the class is made within the framework of her criticism of the New True Socialist movement and post-Marxist approaches. In this context, the author emphasizes the priority of economic relations in the determination of the class positions. Besides, she insists that, unlike the names she has criticized, the working class is the only actor to overthrow the capitalist system and its relations of production through revolution since they are against the interests of this class. Keywords: Karl Marx, post-Marxists, Ellen Meiksins Wood, social class. 101

Between 1919-1925, the thesis about Islamization of the Anatolian Greeks who did not want to /could not go or left behind was written based on the stories and narration of the people who experienced the period and the stories abstracted from their memories. In this work leading to the power of micro narration rather than macro narration, in the context of oral history studies, without generalizing, the approach of memories hidden in the minds of people become important. In this study aimed at listening to the people whose stories were conveyed, the narrative unity that emerged as the result of interviews with 6 people was aimed to comprehend remembering and forgetting together. Thesis field survey conducted mainly in Ankara and İzmir. Some of the interviewers were the children of who experienced the livings and the others were the grandchildren. In the study it was historically analyzed that context of nation-state and homogeneous society structure lead to forced migration, in addition, immigration, staying, Islamization, Assimilation and Culturalization experiences were traced descriptively in the context of before, during and after the "population exchange”. In the study, in accordance with rising voices from the fields, attention has been paid to how to stories were hidden for years by social pressure, the process of new identity and Islamization, the period of searching family stories and confrontation with them, reckoning with history and finally the change of the field subjects over time. The power and political sides of remembering took its place in the thesis. The assimilation and transculturation processes experienced by the families over the transmitted stories were also included in the analysis. Apparently, those who take place in the memories of the subjects of the field are strong enough to fill vacant places in the transmitted history. Key Words Nation-State, Forced Migration, Exchange, Memory, Islamization, Assimilation, Transculturation. Needle Biopsies are common medical procedures to remove tissue samples from the body to be examined for diseases. During these procedures, the needle and its tip are tracked using medical imaging devices to avoid damage to the tissues and to get samples from the targeted site.Ultrasound (US) is a common imaging method to localize the needles because it does not have any known side effects and provides a larger workspace. However, excessive artifacts and low resolution of the US images make it difficult to localize the needles in the biopsies. A possible solution to this problem is to detect the needle and its tip using an image processing algorithm. In this thesis, a novel needle localization method is proposed for 2D US images based on the Gabor filter. This method enhances the needle outline to localize the needle, while suppressing other structures in the US images. The needle tip is localized in real-time and the estimation noise is reduced using the Kalman filter. Using the bin packing method, the processing time is reduced by 56%, without a GPU. Also, a simulation study to understand the accuracy of the system within different mediums is conducted. The proposed needle localization scheme was tested using various phantoms. An external sensor was used to evaluate the accuracy of the needle insertion angle estimation and the needle tip localization methods. The Root mean square (RMS) error of the needle insertion angle was 2.29°; and the RMS error of the needle tip position was 1.17 mm. The results showed that this localization scheme can be used in the US image guided percutaneous needle procedures. 89

In the present study, phytoplankton composition in relation to mucilage and accompanied physicochemical conditions were investigated in the sea water samples collected from four stations in İzmit-Kocaeli, Fatih-İstanbul, Biga-Çanakkale (in the Marmara Sea), and Rivaİstanbul (in the Black Sea). Samplings were carried out before (i.e., during September 2020) and at the beginning stage of the mucilage formations (i.e., during April 2021) which was observed in the Marmara Sea during spring and summer months of 2021. Seawater temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen levels were measured in situ. Inorganic nitrogen, orthophosphate, and chlorophyll-a concentrations were analyzed spectrophotometrically. In total 83 phytoplankton species (44 Bacillariophyceae-BAC, 36 Dinophyceae-DIN, 2 Dictyochophyceae-DIC, and 1 Chlorophyceae-CHL) were identified during the study. BAC species were generally dominant. Among the 83 phytoplankton taxa identified, Cerataulina pelagica, Cylindrotheca closterium, Pseudo-nitzschia sp., Skeletonema costatum, Thalassiosira rotula, Alexandrium tamarense, Dinophysis acuminata, Dinophysis caudata, Dinophysis fortii, Gonyaulax fragilis, Gonyaulax spinifera, Gymnodinium sp., Gyrodinium sp., and Prorocentrum micans are known as the species associated with mucilage formation. The highest number of species was determined at the Biga-Çanakkale station (MDG25) with 38 taxa in September 2020. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sağlıklı ve düzenli yaşam tarzına sahip olarak uyku kalitesini etkileyen sorunlar ortadan kaldırılmalıdır., Aim: This study was carried out to investigate the sleep quality and affecting factors in Medical Faculty 1st and 6th grade students. Material and Methods: In the research, a questionnaire was applied to 126 students who continued in the 1st and 6th terms. Following the descritive questions, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire was used, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was used in the evaluation. PSQI score mean and standart deviation, Student t test, chi-square test were used between independent variables and PSQI score averages. Results: PSQI scores of 73,00% of the participants are 5 and above and they have poor sleep quality. 30,2% of medical students who participated in the study smoke. PSQI score average is 7,18 (± 2,46) for smokers and 5,80 ( ± 2,68 ) for non-smokers and there is statistically significant difference between groups ( t = 2,736 – p < 0,05 ). The quality of sleep was found to be significantly lower in those who sleep after 24.00 at night, fell asleep for more than 15 minutes, and those whose night sleep is less than 7 hours. Conclusions: The quality of sleep was generally low in Maltepe University Medical Faculty 1st and 6th term students. Smoking is one of the reasons for poor sleep quality. Metabolic and psychosocial problems experienced by students affect sleep integrity and sleep time negatively and cause bed sleep. Having a healthy and regular lifestyle, problems affecting sleep quality should be eliminated.

Due to copyright restrictions, the access to the full text of this article is only available via subscription. Percutaneous needle procedures are mostly carried out with the guidance of 2D ultrasound (US) imaging. US images are inherently noisy and their resolutions are low. Hence, target tracking can be challenging. Image based tracking methods can be used to track the needle and the target. This paper proposes visual tracking of multiple moving points, such as biopsy needles and targets, in 2D US images using normalized cross correlation and mutual information similarity functions. Both moving and deformable targets can be tracked. An affine motion model is used for small and moving target tracking and a thin plate spline motion model is used for deformable target tracking. During the tracking, needle and target template images are updated with a template update strategy. Also, tracking outputs of normalized cross correlation and mutual information are fused using the Kalman filter to reduce the tracking error. During the experiments, needle is inserted using a needle insertion robot. 2D US probe is attached to a robotic arm's end effector to servo the probe along the needle insertion path. Proposed needle and target tracking methods were tested with phantoms. Accuracies of the needle tip and moving target tracking methods were measured using an optical tracking system. Experimental results showed that the proposed tracking method could be used to simultaneously track the needle tip and the targets in real-time in 2D US guided percutaneous needle procedures. TÜBİTAK

Due to copyright restrictions, the access to the full text of this article is only available via subscription. Ultrasound (US) is one the most commonly used medical imaging techniques in percutaneous needle procedures. However, US images are inherently noisy and contain excessive number of artifacts. Hence, it is not easy to track the needle tip in the US images during the needle insertions. At this point, image based visual tracking techniques can be used for needle tip tracking. This paper presents a method for visual tracking of biopsy needles in 2D US images using sum of squared differences and sum of conditional variances. Second order Gauss-Newton optimization is used to decrease processing time and make the tracking more robust. The needle template images used in the method are updated with a strategy to prevent needle loss and detection failures during tracking. The paper also explains how to identify needle losses during tracking and how to recover the needle position without using a needle localization algorithm. We demonstrate the precision of the visual needle tip tracking method with experiments under challenging tracking conditions. TÜBİTAK

In this paper, real-time needle tip tracking method using 2D ultrasound (US) images for robotic biopsies is presented. In this method, the needle tip is estimated with the Gabor filter based image processing algorithm, and the estimation noise is reduced with the Kalman filter. This paper also presents the needle tip tracking simulation to test accuracy of the Kalman filter under position misalignments and tissue deformations. In order to execute proposed method in real-time, the bin packing method is used and the processing time is reduced by 56%, without a GPU. The proposed method was tested in four different phantoms and water medium. The accuracy of the needle tip estimation was measured with optical tracking system, and root mean square error (RMS) of the tip position is found to be 1.17 mm. The experiments showed that the algorithm could track the needle tip in real-time. TÜBİTAK
