Abstract

India is a country whose roots are buried deep in agriculture. The livelihood of about 58% of the population depends on farming. Yet technological progress in the country’s agricultural practices is lacking. The growing technology and increased demand for agriculture calls for the incorporation of technology into sustainable agriculture. The proposed work, therefore aimed at building a drone to serve this purpose. The rapid growth of the Electric Vehicle (EV) market and India’s aim to shift to the complete use of EVs by the year 2023 demand a paradigm shift in the agriculture sector. The use of aerial electric vehicles would be an impeccable execution of EVs in agriculture, serving a vast set of functions. The proposed work focuses on one specific application: remote spraying of pesticides in an efficient way so that the overhead costs of farming are reduced. The harmful effects of exposure to pesticides are eminent. Farmers who take it upon themselves to spray these pesticides are at risk of contracting a wide range of health adversities and deadly chronic diseases. As a solution to this imminent need, it is proposed to design a drone to spray pesticides according to the requirement, as directed by the farmer. The Agriculture Drone has a hexagonal structure controlled using BLDC motors and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs). For flight control, Pixhawk 2.4.6 is used. It is equipped with a GPS module that can track the location of the drone and plan its mission. The drone operates on autopilot and requires no manual control for flight. Specific coordinates are given to the Drone so that it moves along the given coordinates for its flight using the software ‘Mission Planner.’ The designed drone has a removable tank for the storage of pesticides, which is placed under the landing gear. The tank has a spraying system that operates on the instructions of the farmer, which are given to the drone using a Radio transmitter.

Abstract

To achieve enhanced flux dissipation, microchannels heat sink are being effectively implemented in various engineering processes. Here, a numerical analysis is to be carried out on an open stepped micro pin fin heat sink (MPFHS) with different step size. The stepped pin fin heat sink (PFHS) having varied fin height in an array of two fins having inline arrangement. For the simulation purpose, a single-phase water was used as working fluid with variable thermophysical properties. The present configuration has operated for Reynolds number =100-500, heat flux of 500 kW/m2. The step variation of 100 µm, 200 µm and 300 µm has been considered. It was observed that with increase in step size, the heat transfer augmentation also increases. However, at higher Reynold number, the present studies does not provide effective results in terms of sustainability.

Abstract

This study provides an in-depth bibliometric analysis of the research land-scape of Geopolymer concrete using data from two of the leading scientific databases, Scopus and Web of Science. The analysis covers a time span of 2010 to 2022 and provides a comprehensive evaluation of the growth, age, impact, and collaboration of research in the field. The results show that the annual growth rate of research in Geopolymer concrete is substantial, with a 43.92% increase in the number of documents in Scopus and 15.76% in Web of Science. Furthermore, the document average age is relatively low, with 1.59 years in Scopus and 3.11 years in Web of Science, suggesting that the research in this field is recent and dynamic. The study also found that the research in Geopolymer concrete is highly cited, with an average of 11.69 ci-tations per document in Scopus and 18.69 in Web of Science.The authorship and document type analysis provides valuable insights into the research col-laboration and output in the field. The results show a high level of collabora-tion, with an average of 4.29 co-authors per document in Scopus and 3.47 in Web of Science. Additionally, the majority of the documents in the field are articles, with a smaller number of conference papers, book chapters, and re-views. In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the research landscape of Geopolymer concrete and highlights the areas of strength and potential for future research. The results of the analysis can be useful for researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders in the field of Geopol-ymer concrete to understand the current state of the research, identify poten-tial gaps and opportunities, and plan future research activities.Page layout

Abstract

PMMA Composites have become the most popular materials due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, graphite reinforced for engineering applications. Researchers have used a variety of reinforcements to enhance the mechanical and tribological characteristics of various polymer matrixes, including carbon fiber, glass fiber, and carbon-based nanoparticles, graphite, alumina, silica, silicon carbide, titanium oxide, bacterial cellulose, Nano-cellulose, and zirconium oxide.This project focuses on the characteristics of composites made with graphite reinforcements that are based on polymethyl methacrylate. Die casting was used to manufacture this reinforced composite. To enhance the mechanical qualities (impact strength and hardness), tribological parameters (slide distance, normal load, and sliding velocity are employed for wear rate). Therefore, in this study, greater focus has been placed on on PMMA-based composites with graphite reinforcement.

40. Deep learning to combat knee osteoarthritis and severity assessment by using CNN-based classification.

Abstract

Background: In today's digital age, various diseases drastically reduce people's quality of life. Arthritis is one amongst the most common and debilitating maladies. Osteoarthritis affects several joints, including the hands, knees, spine, and hips. This study focuses on the medical disorder underlying Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) which severely impairs people's quality of life. KOA is characterised by restricted mobility, stiffness, and terrible pain and can be caused by a range of factors such as ageing, obesity, and traumas. This degenerative disorder leads to progressive wear and tear of the knee joint. Methods: To combat arthritis in the kneecap, this study employs a 12-layer Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to reach deep learning capabilities. A collection of data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI) is used to classify KOA. Through the use of medical image processing; the study ascertains whether an individual has this ailment. A sophisticated CNN architecture created especially for binary classification and KOA severity utilising deep learning algorithms is the main component of this work. Results: The cross-entropy loss function is an important component of the model's laborious design that classifies data into two groups. The remaining section uses the Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grade to classify the disease's severity. In the binary classification, the proposed algorithm outperforms previous methods with an accuracy rate of 92.3%, and in the multiclassification, its accuracy rate is 78.4% which is superior to the previous findings. Conclusion: Looking ahead, the research broadens the scope of this work by gathering information from various sources and using these methods on a wider range of datasets and situations. The potential for major advancements in the field of osteoarthritis detection and classification is highlighted by this forward-looking approach.
