To prevent and control foodborne diseases, there is a fundamental need to identify the foods that are most likely to cause illness. The goal of this study was to rank 25 commonly consumed food products associated with Salmonella enterica contamination in the Central Region of Mexico. A multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) framework was developed to obtain an S. enterica risk score for each food product based on four criteria: probability of exposure to S. enterica through domestic food consumption (Se); S. enterica growth potential during home storage (Sg); per capita consumption (Pcc); and food attribution of S. enterica outbreak (So). If $\mathrm{char}(F)=2$ and $|F|>2$, then $\varphi$ is a (in general, non-proper) Lie automorphism of $I(X,F)$. Finally, if $F=\mathbb{Z}_2$, then $\varphi$ is the composition of a bijective shift map and a Lie automorphism of $I(X,F)$. AimA series of knowledge has been developed on burnout syndrome in the sports context that has allowed to generate a solid theoretical structure that requires new contributions to delve into those aspects that have been less addressed, as is the case of optimism and resilience when it comes to linking them to the syndrome in top-performance athletes. For this purpose, the Burnout Inventory for Athletes (IBD-r), the Resilience Scale adapted to Spanish, and the Life Orientation Scale-Revised (LOT-R) for optimism were used.MethodsFrom this perspective, the study was approached with 121 Uruguayan athletes who participated in the last Pan-American Games, assuming practically all the subjects who have this level of sport (142) considering gender and type of sport.ResultsThe results indicate that 67% of the sample presents burnout symptoms for the emotional exhaustion dimension, and moderate resilience and optimism. Although there are no significant differences attributable to gender or type of sport, this contribution allows us to continue focusing on future work and further analysis. The type of sport presented statistically significant differences in relation to the personal competence dimension and the type of sport.ConclusionResilience and optimism obtained a clear influence on the occurrence of burnout, in a statistically negative sense, showing themselves as interesting prevention strategies for future lines of research, where it is essential to design interventions that teach emotional skills to manage adversity and prevent burnout.

Chicken meat is often associated withSalmonella entericacontamination worldwide. This study proposes a risk assessment model for human salmonellosis linked to the domestic consumption of chicken meat in the central region of Mexico, incorporating genotypic and phenotypic data. SixS. entericagroups were used, considering the presence of specific virulence genes and multidrug resistance (MDR). Sixteen exposure scenarios were established considering retail point (RP1 = fresh market/butcher shop; RP2 = mini-super/supermarket), transportation, home storage, cooking, and cross-contamination. COVID-19 pandemic-related confinement may be a fruitful opportunity to use individual resources to deal with it or experience psychological functioning changes. This study aimed to analyze the evolution of different psychological variables during the first coronavirus wave to identify the different psychological response clusters, as well as to keep a follow-up on the changes among these clusters. The sample included 459 Spanish residents (77.8% female, Mage = 35.21 years, SDage = 13.00). Linear mixed models showed that the scores on positive functioning variables worsened from the beginning of the confinement, while emotional distress and personal strength improved by the end of the state of alarm. Clustering analyses revealed four different patterns of psychological response: “Survival”, “Resurgent”, “Resilient”, and “Thriving” individuals. Four different profiles were identified during mandatory confinement and most participants remained in the same cluster. The “Resilient” cluster gathered the largest number of individuals (30–37%). We conclude that both the heterogeneity of psychological profiles and analysis of positive functioning variables, emotional distress, and post-traumatic growth must be considered to better understand the response to prolonged adverse situations. Context. The eclipsing close binary UU Cas is an interacting massive double-periodic system with a gainer star partly hidden in an accretion disk. Aims. In order to study the physics of the accretion process in greater detail, along with the structure and dynamics of the circumstellar matter in the system, we supplement our previous results obtained from photometry with an analysis of the spectra of UU Cas. Methods. We collected all available spectra used in previous publications on UU Cas and we acquired new ones. The method of disentangling was applied to this set of spectra spanning the years 2008 2021. The orbital parameters were disentangled and a fit of the separated component spectra by synthetic ones has been used to determine the physical parameters of the component stars. We compared the results to models of the evolution of interacting binaries. Results. We found that in addition to the dominant role of the donor star and a weak contribution of the gainer, the line profiles are strongly influenced by the circumstellar matter. The absorption lines reveal a presence of a disk wind emanating above the orbital plane. The variability of Hα emission yields evidence of changes in the structure of the circumstellar matter on a timescale of several orbital periods. © ESO 2022. El objetivo de esta investigación fue describir los síntomas conductuales, cognitivos y fisiológicos del síndrome de burnouten deportistas, así como conocer si existen diferencias en la percepción del síndrome de burnoutentre un grupo de expertos que habían tenido algún deportista con burnout y otro que no lo había tenido. Los participantes del estudio fueron 28 expertos en Psicología del Deporte, 11 mujeres y 17 hombres (M edad = 46,75 años; DT= 10,98) a quienes se les administró tres cuestionarios semiestructurados Delphi diseñados específicamente por los investigadores. Ambos grupos destacan como síntomas conductuales: falta de adherencia al entrenamiento y bajo rendimiento deportivo; como síntomas cognitivos: desvalorización de la práctica deportiva e ideas de abandono del deporte; y como síntomas fisiológicos: tensión, y agotamiento físico. Con el acercamiento a la sintomatología característica presentada por los deportistas con el síndrome en este estudio se ha pretendido obtener una mejor comprensión del burnouten el ámbito deportivo. En función de esta información, se podrían desarrollar estrategias tanto de prevención como de intervención, dirigidas a prevenir o tratar la principal sintomatología. ABSTRACT: The aim of the current researchwas to increase the knowledge of the behavioural, cognitive and physiological symptoms of burnout in athletes, additionally knowing if there are differences in the perception of burnout syndrome between a group of experts who had had an athlete with burnout and another who did not have it. The study participants were 28 experts in Sports Psychology, 11 women and 17 men (M age = 46.75 years; SD = 10.98) being administered three semi-structured Delphi questionnaires specifically designed by researchers. Bothgroups highlight as behavioural symptoms: lack of training adherence and low sport performance; as cognitive symptoms: sport devaluation and ideas of drop out of sport; and as physiologicalsymptoms: tension and physical exhaustion. With the approach to the characteristic symptomatology presented by athletes with the syndrome in this study, we tried to get a better understanding of burnout in the sports field. Related to this information, both prevention and intervention strategies might be developed, aimed at preventing or treating the main symptomatology. Os participantes do estudo foram 28 especialistas em Psicologia do Esporte, 11 mulheres e 17 homens (idade M = 46,75 anos; DP = 10,98) que receberam três questionários Delphi semiestruturados, especificamente projetados por pesquisadores. Ambos os grupos se destacam como sintomas comportamentais: falta de adesão ao treinamento e baixo desempenho atlético; como sintomas cognitivos: desvalorização da prática esportiva e idéias de abandono do esporte; e como sintomas fisiológicos: tensão e exaustão física. Se plantean propuestas de futuro como analizar otras variables relacionadas con el síndrome. Com a abordagem da sintomatologia característica apresentada pelos atletas com a síndrome neste estudo, procuramosobter uma melhor compreensão do burnout no campo esportivo. Com base nesta informação, estratégias de prevenção e intervenção poderiam ser desenvolvidas, visando prevenir ou tratar os principais sintomas.

In ultra-high vacuum systems, obtaining the composition of a mass spectrum is often a challenging task due to the highly overlapping nature of the individual profiles of the gas species that contribute to that spectrum, as well as the high differences in terms of degree of contribution (several orders of magnitude). This problem is even more complex when not only the presence but also a quantitative estimation of the contribution (partial pressure) of each species is required. This paper aims at estimating the relative contribution of each species in a target mass spectrum by combining a state-of-the-art machine learning method (multilabel classifier) to obtain a pool of candidate species based on a threshold applied to the probability scores given by the classifier with a genetic algorithm that aims at finding the partial pressure at which each one of the species contributes to the target mass spectrum. For this purpose, we use a dataset of synthetically generated samples. We explore different acceptance thresholds for the generation of initial populations, and we establish comparative metrics against the most novel method to date for automatically obtaining partial pressure contributions. Our results show a clear advantage in terms of the integral error metric (up to 112 times lower for simpler spectra) and computational times (up to 4 times lower for complex spectra) in favor of the proposed method, which is considered a substantial improvement for this task.

En las últimas décadas se han producido importantes cambios en los servicios de salud, ocurriendo al mismo tiempo la cobertura universal de las prestaciones asistenciales y un enorme crecimiento en el número y coste de las tecnologías sanitarias. Por otra parte, los cambios en la sociedad afectan también a la configuración y transformación de los servicios de salud, que se tienen que ir adaptando a una población más educada y exigente, al mismo tiempo que demográficamente más envejecida. Todo ello ha ido llevando a un panorama complejo en la gestión sanitaria, desde la necesidad de contener el crecimiento del gasto sanitario, hasta la de manejar cantidades ingentes de información, pasando por la implicación de múltiples actores en la toma de decisiones, que irían desde el ciudadano de a pie, hasta el gestor político. En este sentido, las tendencias actuales se orientan a una mayor implicación de los usuarios y pacientes en los procesos asistenciales y de planificación. La epidemiología puede considerarse a un tiempo disciplina científica y herramienta útil para ayudar a la toma de decisiones en todos los ámbitos de la gestión. Su papel se centra en aportar información fiable, conocimiento y previsión relevante para introducir racionalidad en la toma de decisiones. Esto es aplicable al entorno más macro de la gestión, es decir al proceso político y planificador (políticas de salud y salud pública), al de la meso gestión (cuyo ámbito de decisión afectaría a los centros e instituciones), y al nivel micro, que se correspondería con la gestión clínica, es decir con las decisiones que afectan directamente a los individuos de forma aislada o colectiva. Es quizás en este último ámbito, con el fenómeno de la medicina basada en la evidencia, donde la intersección entre epidemiología y gestión ha sido más amplia, por lo que queda mucho más camino por recorrer en otros ámbitos.

In a first objective, we improve our understanding about surjective and bijective bounded linear operators preserving orthogonality from a JB*-algebra $$\mathcal {A}$$ into a JB*-triple E. Among many other conclusions, it is shown that a bounded linear bijection $$T: \mathcal {A}\rightarrow E$$ is orthogonality preserving if, and only if, it is biorthogonality preserving if, and only if, it preserves zero-triple-products in both directions (i.e., $$\{a,b,c\}=0 \Leftrightarrow \{T(a),T(b),T(c)\}=0$$ ). In the second main result, we establish a complete characterization of all one-parameter groups of orthogonality preserving operators on a JB*-algebra.

We present the results of the study of the close binary UU Cassiopeiae based on previously published multi wavelength photometric and spectroscopic data. Based on eclipse timings of the last 117 years, we find an improved orbital period of $\rm P_{o} = 8.519296(8)$ d. In addition, we find a long cycle of length $T$ $\sim$ 270 d in the $I_c$-band data. There is no evidence for orbital period change during the last century, suggesting that the rate of mass loss from the system or mass exchange between the stars should be small. Sporadic and rapid brightness drops of up to $\Delta$$V$ = 0.3 mag are detected during the whole orbital cycle and infrared photometry clearly suggests the presence of circumstellar matter. We model the orbital light curve of 11 published datasets fixing the mass ratio and cool star temperature from previous spectroscopic work; $q$= 0.52 and $T_c$= 22 700 K. We find a system seen at angle 74 degrees with a stellar separation of 52 ${\rm R_{\odot}}$, a temperature for the hotter star $T_h$= 30 200 $K$ and stellar masses 17.4 and 9 ${\rm M_{\odot}}$ , radii 7.0 and 16.9 ${\rm R_{\odot}}$ and surface gravities log g = 3.98 and 2.94, for the hotter and cooler star, respectively. We find an accretion disk surrounding the more massive star, with a radius of 21 ${\rm R_{\odot}}$ and vertical thickness in its outer edge of 6.5 ${\rm R_{\odot}}$, mostly occulting the hotter star. Two active regions hotter than the surrounding disk are found, one located roughly in the expected position where the stream impacts the disk and the other one in the opposite side of the disk. Introduction The aim of this study was to explore the views of experts on the use of big data (BD) advanced analytics (i.e: machine learning, deep learning or artificial intelligence techniques) on the identification of frail older patients with non-malignant diseases who could benefit from early palliative care (PC). Methods This descriptive study corresponds to the first round of a Delphi study currently under performance. Participants were asked through a questionnaire survey about the level of agreement regarding i) the use of advanced analytics on specific clinical scenarios and ii) the critical aspects when using these applications on the frame of PC. The sample included professionals from different countries and disciplines with expertise on chronicity, geriatrics and/or PC. Consensus was defined as >70% of subjects agreement. Results At this time, fifteen experts have answered the questionnaire (37.5% of whom invited to participate). 78.6% were women, 71.4% were working in a clinical setting >15 years as physicians (57.1%), nurses (35.7%) and psychologists (7.1%) 80% of them considered that the strategy based on an automatic tool (BD based) combined with front-line healthcare staff is the best way for identification of patients who could benefit from early PC approach. They assessed as ‘very’ and ‘extremely useful’ the use of BD models on research applications, both as a population health management tool (clinical clustering) and as a tool to improve the prediction of an outcome risk. However, the need for clinical validation and the dearth of evidence of practical benefits are the main critical aspects on the implementation of these tools. Conclusions The view of experts can contribute to guide BD applications on advanced stages of illnesses. The consensus about the opportunities and gaps on the implementation of these tools will support clinicians in decision making processes.

Señalar posibles indicadores psicológicos sobre cómo percibe su misma conducta, permite concretar las referencias sobre cómo orientar la misma de cara a ayudar al deportista a crecer a través del deporte que practica. En constante interactividad y bidireccionalidad (tanto positiva como negativa), las vivencias deportivas permiten la percepción de determinadas respuestas psicológicas, así como las características personales ejercen influencias determinantes para la práctica deportiva. Con el objetivo de describir y establecer relaciones entre algunas de estas diferencias individuales y contextuales, se realiza un estudio con una muestra aleatoria de jóvenes deportistas (N = 436). Utilizando cuestionarios de personalidad (BFQ), creencias sobre el éxito (POSQ) y toma de decisiones (CETD), se obtiene que la perseverancia es el indicador más característico de la muestra. Los deportistas federados difieren significativamente en dominancia, perseverancia y apertura a la experiencia, y los que practican deportes colectivos señalan significativamente mejor cooperación y apertura a la cultura que los que practican deportes individuales, que se orientan a ser más dominantes y estar más abiertos a nuevas experiencias. Además, los federados indican significativamente que están peor en ansiedad y que tienen un nivel más alto en competencia y compromiso para la toma de decisiones. Estos datos se reafirman cuando se establecen relaciones de correlación entre las variables estudiadas.

We prove that every surjective isometry between the unit spheres of two trace class spaces admits a unique extension to a surjective complex linear or conjugate linear isometry between the spaces. This provides a positive solution to Tingley's problem in a new class of operator algebras.

We introduce n-orthogonality (and completely orthogonality) preserving operators between C⁎-algebras. Our main theorem states that every completely orthogonality preserving bounded linear mapping between C⁎-algebras is a weighted TRO homomorphism. We also give several characterisations of TRO homomorphisms among triple homomorphisms.

El optimismo es un factor psicológico moderador en el rendi- miento deportivo. El objetivo de este trabajo es revisar la evidencia empíri- ca de los trabajos relacionados con optimismo en el rendimiento deportivo, analizando la calidad metodológica de los estudios. Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática siguiendo las indicaciones de las guía PRISMA (Urrútia y Bon- fill, 2013). Las bases de datos consultadas fueron PubMed, WOS, Scopus, Psycinfo y SportDiscus. Se seleccionaron para el análisis los trabajos que evaluaban el optimismo y el rendimiento en contexto deportivo (n = 7). Pa- ra el análisis de la calidad se utilizó el Instrumento para la lectura crítica y la evaluación de estudios epidemiológicos de Berra, Elorza-Ricart, Estrada y Sánchez (2008). Posteriormente se calculó la fiabilidad interjueces, con dos jueces participantes,mediante el coeficiente kappa de Cohen. La metodolo- gía utilizada en los estudios seleccionados fue en su mayor parte análisis co- rrelaciónales entre resultados de la escala LOT y el rendimiento de los de- portistas, evaluado de distintas formas. En general, las medidas de opti- mismo fueron relacionadas con un aumento del rendimiento deportivo. La calidad de los estudios se considera media. Investigaciones futuras debe mejorar mediante procedimientos más experimentales, con calidad y rigor metodológico. Optimism is a moderating psychological factor in sports perfor- mance. The aim of this study is to review the current evidence regarding optimism and sports performance. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was conducted, taking in consideration only those that followed PRISMA guidelines (Urrútia & Bonfill, 2013). The following databases were used with the predefined inclusion criteria (optimism and sports per- formance): PubMed, WOS, Scopus, Psycinfo and SportDiscus. The study was assessed using the Critical Reading and Evaluation of Epidemiological Studies (Berra, Elorza-Ricart, Estrada & Sanchez, 2008). Interrater reliabil- ity was verified withCohen’s Kappacoefficient (2 judges). The majority of the studies performed correlational analyses between LOT scale results and athletic performance (n = 7). As a result, a positive correlation was ob- served between optimism and athletic performance. In general, the quality of the studies was considered average. Future studies should take in con- sideration the use of additional, higher quality and more rigorous experi- mental procedures.

This article proposes an innovative theoretical framework for applying the Living Lab approach, traditionally adopted in entrepreneurial contexts, to the context of alternating training (AT) at school in co-designing, implementing and evaluating AT scenarios, with the final aim of fostering the role of the school as a social hub connecting several societal actors.

Early childhood education is a developmental period in which early symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can be observed. This work examines the educational background of 206 children, from the ages of three to five years (109 of them with an ADHD diagnosis and 97 without a clinical diagnosis), by analysing 306 reports from their teachers. The aim of this study is to discover if these educational reports reflect differences in academic performance and behaviour between both groups. The 123 educational goals analysed in the reports have been classified into 15 categories. A nonparametric analysis (Chi square) was performed on each variable to compare ADHD/control groups. Our results claim that ADHD children show more difficulties in different curricular and behavioural aspects like attention, self-regulation, independence, motivation, basic learning, social relationships, motor skills and communication. O objetivo desse trabalho é de analisar a relação entre o construto otimista, a síndrome de burnout e o estado de humor em esportistas em situação pré-competitiva. A amostra foi constituída por 227 lutadores que participaram do Campeonato de Espanha de Lutas Olímpicas. Os instrumentos utilizados são o LOT-R adaptação espanhola de Otero et al. (1998) do teste de Scheier e Carver (1985), em sua revisão Scheier, Carver e Bridges (1994) em o Inventario de Burnout para Esportistas (IBD). O IBD é uma adaptação para populações desportivas realizadas por Garcés de Los Fayos (1999) do Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach & Jackson, 1981) e o Profile of Mood States (POMS). Para a avaliação dos estados de humor foi aplicado de forma abreviada e adaptada por Fuentes, Balguer, Melía e García-Merita (1995), do instrumento original de McNair, Loor y Dropplemam (1971). Os questionários foram administrados durante o Campeonato de Espanha de Lutas Olímpicas, nos escalões Cadete e Sénior. Background: Visceral Adiposity Index (VAI) has been strongly associated with adipocytokine synthesis, proinflammatory activity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, hypertension and atherosclerosis. VAI is a model that includes and correlates anthropometric and metabolic markers and has been proposed as a risk factor index associated with cardiovascular risk in adults. Some studies conducted in pediatric population have extrapolated VAI calculation in order to predict these abnormalities; nonetheless, no adjustment has been done for pediatric ranges in any of the variables included in the formula. The aim of this study was to design a new sex-specific VAI model adjusted for pediatric population. Subjects and methods: Cross-sectional study, 548 children (290 males and 258 females) aged 3-17 years were included for analysis. Eutrophic, apparently healthy children (n = 223) were recruited from 3 public schools located nearby the hospital. Overweight (n = 89) and obese subjects (n = 236) were patients that regularly attend at the Pediatric Obesity Clinic from “Hospital General de México”. Anthropometric evaluation included weight, height, waist circumference (WC). Body mass index (BMI) was calculated and Tg and HDL measured in a 12 hour fasting condition (mMol/L). La piel es el órgano con mayor extensión en el cuerpo humano, una de sus principales funciones es proteger, sin embargo, es el más susceptible. Los mecanismos de inmunidad de los recién nacidos, y particularmente de los prematuros, son relativamente deficientes debido a inmadurez del sistema inmune, así como a una disminución del pasaje transplacentario de anticuerpos maternos, todo lo que contribuye a la vulnerabilidad a infecciones graves bacterianas, fúngicas y virales. Debido a la vulnerabilidad del paciente, a las distintas limitantes que se producen al atender el tema e incluso a la ausencia de información para los cuidados necesarios se ha decidido hacer un procesos investigativos a fin de identificar algunos cuidados que hay que mantener en la pile del recién nacido para evitar patologías o complicaciones dermatológicas. Se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica a través de ficheros virtuales, utilizando palabras claves como dermatología, recién nacido, pediatría, patologías de piel, se ha escogido de estos trabajos la información que nos interesa para exponer una revisión bibliográfica referencial en cuanto a los cuidados necesarios para el cuidado dermatológico de los recién nacidos. Encontrando que la prevención de la sepsis neonatal comienza con la prevención del parto prematuro, se debe dirigir los esfuerzos en colaborar como parte de un equipo multidisciplinario asegurando el cumplimiento de las estrategias de prevención. El cuidado inadecuado de la piel es una causa de morbilidad y aún la mortalidad en ésta primera etapa de la vida. Es importante considerar la trascendencia de éste órgano como barrera contra las infecciones, protección de los órganos internos, colaborador en el mantenimiento de la temperatura y regulador de agua y electrolitos. Reducir al mínimo las lesiones debe ser considerado un componente clave en el cuidado diario brindado a los recién nacidos.

FRIDA will be a near infrared imager and integral field spectrograph covering the wavelength range from 0.9 to 2.5 microns. FRIDA will work in two observing modes: direct imaging and integral field spectroscopy. This paper presents the main structure of the FRIDA mechanisms control system. In order to comply with a high level of re-configurability FRIDA will comprise eight cryogenic mechanisms and one room temperature mechanism. Most of these mechanisms require high positioning repeatability to ensure FRIDA fulfills with high astronomical specifications. In order to set up the mechanisms positioning control parameters a set of programs have been developed to perform several tests of mechanisms in both room and cryogenic environments. The embedded control software for most of the FRIDA mechanisms has been developed. A description of some mechanisms tests and the software used for this purpose are presented.

El medio subacuático constituye un entorno extremo que exige un proceso de adaptación humana con demandas psicofisiológicas específicas para garantizar la supervivencia y la actividad productiva. En este trabajo explicativo se analiza, bajo la óptica de los actuales modelos de inteligencia, personalidad y rendimiento, la contribución de las diferencias individuales para explicar la adaptación de personal militar en un entorno estresante. Se verifica, mediante análisis de ecuaciones estructurales, un modelo donde se contemplan los efectos directos de las variables psicológicas sobre la adaptación personal a un medio adverso, comprobando sus relaciones estructurales durante la realización de cursos básicos de buceo militar y su capacidad para predecir un tercio de la varianza de un criterio poco estudiado. De esta manera, se confirma en una muestra de profesionales (N = 575) la relación directa de ajuste emocional, responsabilidad y habilidad mental general con la adaptación subacuática, atribuyendo una relación inversa a reactividad emocional. Estos constructos constituyen el fundamento psicológico para desenvolverse con seguridad y trabajar bajo el agua, contribuyen a la mejora de la adaptación al medio subacuático y favorecen la prevención de riesgos y la seguridad en las actividades de buceo. Intelligence and personality traits are currently considered effective predictors of human behavior and job performance. However, there are few studies about their relevance in the underwater environment. Data from a sample of military personnel performing scuba diving courses were analyzed with regression techniques, testing the contribution of individual differences and ascertaining the incremental validity of the personality in an environment with extreme psychophysical demands. The results confirmed the incremental validity of personality traits (ΔR2 = .20, f2 = .25) over the predictive contribution of general mental ability (ΔR2 = .07, f2 = .08) in divers’ performance. Moreover, personality ($R_L^2$ = .34) also showed a higher validity to predict underwater adaptation than general mental ability ($R_L^2$ = .09). The ROC curve indicated 86% of the maximum possible discrimination power for the prediction of underwater adaptation, AUC = .86, p < .001, 95% CI (.82–.90). These findings confirm the shift and reversal of incremental validity of dispositional traits in the underwater environment and the relevance of personality traits as predictors of an effective response to the changing circumstances of military scuba diving. They also may improve the understanding of the behavioral effects and psychophysiological complications of diving and can also provide guidance for psychological intervention and prevention of risk in this extreme environment.

The aim of the present study is to analyse the relation between dispositional optimism, burnout syndrome and mood of athletes in a pre-competitive state. The sample was composed by 227 wrestling athletes who were competing in the National Wrestling Championship in Spain. The instruments used for this study were LOT-R a Spanish adaptation of Otero et al. (1998) of the Scheier and Carver (1985) test in the review of Scheier, Carver and Bridges (1994), and the Inventory of Burnout for Athletes (IBD). The IBD is an adaptation designed for populations involved in sports made by Garcés de Los Fayos (1999) of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach & Jackson, 1981) and the Profile of Mood States (POMS). To evaluate the profile of mood state a reduced and adapted version by Fuentes, Balaguer, Meliá and García-Merita (1995) of the original instrument of McNair, Loor and Dropplemam (1971) was used. The questionnaires were applied during the Wrestling National Championship in Spain, in the cadet and senior categories. The results indicate a relation between optimism and some dimensions of burnout, for example emotional exhaustion and despersonalization. Furthermore optimism was related with moods states like depression, exhaustion and anger.

We present a spectroscopic and photometric study of the eclipsing binary TU Canis Majoris aimed to obtain their fundamental stellar parameters and evolutionary stage. Our results indicate that the masses, radii, temperatures, and luminosities for the primary and secondary stars are: , , , , K, K, , and . We estimate an age for the system of years, and a distance of pc. In addition, we note that none of the components has filled their respective Roche lobe and both are on the main sequence.

A new diffusion model based on kinematic properties and supported by Metropolis Monte Carlo free energy minimization and density functional theory calculations is proposed in this work. This new mechanism breaks the isotropic features of random adatom diffusion over a single crystal surface, not only about the main directions but also about the sense of movement. The present model allows us to understand all the anomalous growing features characterizing the behaviour of an insulator film, such as aluminum fluoride, over a metallic Cu(1 0 0) single crystal surface. The growth process of this system is characterized by several non-fully understood features, including a large diffusion coefficient, sticking at both sides of steps, and island atomistic arrangement along special directions. Although we focus our analysis on the AlF3/Cu(1 0 0) system, our conclusions may be extended to the diffusion of other complex molecules over different surfaces. Fil: Gómez, L..
