Abstract

The aim of this work is detection of the effect of PRP on wound healing on diabetic wound in ischemic patients, this study is randomized controlled clinical trial that was conducted on ( 30 ) patients who was divided in 2 groups; group (A) received PRP, and group (B) received the traditional dressing after revascularization of the previous ischemic diabetic limbs, both groups were divided randomly by randomization block at the department of Vascular and General surgery, Beni - Suef University Hospital. Results: There was no significant association between the both groups regarding the post-operative complication (p value; 0.698). There was significant strong inverted correlation between rate of healing and size of ulcers. And there was significant strong proportional correlation between size of ulcers and treatment time (p=0.002) and there was significant strong proportional correlation between size of ulcers and the number of injections (p=0.040). However, the cost of the PRP technique was much higher than the traditional technique and p value was statistically significant.

Abstract

Objective: Applying the morphological descriptors described in the MRI breast imaging and reporting data system (BIRADS) in characterizing enhancing breast lesions seen on CESM. Methods: 178 breast lesions in patients with mean age 46 years in a prospective study were included. Morphological categorization of the included lesions was presented into focus, mass and non-mass forms. Furthermore classifications included (1) the margin, enhancement intensity for “focus” (2), the shape, margin and internal enhancement for “mass” and (3) the distribution and internal enhancement for “non-mass”. Each morphology descriptor was evaluated separately (irrespective of the other descriptors) by calculating its sensitivity, specificity, (PPV) and (NPV). Results: This study included 104 malignant lesions versus 74 benign. Diagnostic accuracy parameters for CESM were sensitivity 98% (102/104) and specificity 76% (56/74). Irregular margin intense enhancement focus (1/8) was diagnosed malignant, (7/8) while regular margin faint enhancing foci were benign.Irregular shape, spiculated margin and heterogeneous internal enhancement descriptors of mass lesion descriptors conformed to malignancy (PPV 92.5% of the former and 88.7% of the latter, p value ≤ 0.001).Asymmetry with segmental distribution, (17/27) (70.8%) heterogeneous and clumped internal enhancement patterns were indicative for malignancy in non mass enhancement (PPV

Abstract

Background: Children who are deprived from parental care for any reason are eligible to enter the foster care. Foster care children are at increased risk for developing emotional and behavioral problems for a variety of reasons. This study aimed at assessing the relationship between self-esteem and aggressive behavior among foster care children at Minia governorate. Research Design: A descriptive correlational research design was utilized in this study. Study subjects: 51 foster care children in age group 6-12years.were included in the study. Tools; Aggressive behaviors scale and Hare Self-Esteem Scale were used. Results: Majority of participants were males. More than two thirds of the foster children (74.5%) had low level of self-esteem and foster boys had high mean scores of physical aggression than girls and there was a significant negative correlation between aggression and self-esteem (r = 0.33). Conclusion: there was a significant negative correlation between aggression and self-esteem. Recommendation: Frequent assessment of aggressive behavior and self-esteem among foster care children are needed.

Abstract

BACKGROUND AND AIM Renal abnormalities can occur at any time point during the course of Wilson disease (WD). We aimed to fill a literature gap in this respect by studying urinary abnormalities in children and adolescents with WD. METHODS This study included 60 children with WD presenting to the Pediatric Hepatology Unit, Cairo University. The following data were retrieved from the patients' files including age, sex, liver function tests, serum ceruloplasmin, 24-h urinary copper, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, urinalysis, urinary albumin/creatinine ratio, urinary calcium/creatinine ratio, urinary β2-microglobulin, liver and renal biopsy results when available. RESULTS All studied cases had no symptoms related to renal involvement. Microscopic hematuria was detected in 11% and 12% at baseline and within 5 years of therapy, respectively. Moderate microalbuminuria was detected in 34%, 50%, and 33% at baseline, within 5 years and > 5 years after therapy, respectively. Hypercalciuria was detected in 23% at baseline, 34% in those patients treated for up to 5 years and 37.5% > 5 years of therapy. Age and international normalized ratio were significantly higher in patients with high calcium/creatinine ratio compared with those with normal values at initial evaluation. Frequency of elevated urinary β2-microglobulin was 36%, 36%, and 37% in patients at baseline, up to 5 years and > 5 years of therapy, respectively. CONCLUSION Asymptomatic urinary abnormalities are present in patients with WD at any time point of the disease and during treatment with d-penicillamine. They have to be searched for, as early intervention may prevent progression to renal insufficiency.
