Wedang uwuh is a functional beverage prepared by boiling a combination of spices, namely sappan wood, ginger, nutmeg leaves, cinnamon leaves, cloves, and clove leaves. It is reported to have antioxidant, antibacterial, and immune-enhancing properties due to its active compounds. This traditional beverage shows potential in reducing infections caused by Escherichia coli, highlighting the importance of proper preparation methods. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial activity of wedang uwuh prepared by different boiling duration (5, 10, 15, and 20 min) to determine the optimal time for maximum effectiveness. Phytochemical changes, as indicated by color alterations, were assessed by a descriptive approach while a disc diffusion method was used as an antibacterial assay to measure the inhibition zone diameter against E. coli. Compounds in each treatment were analyzed using GC-MS. Phytochemical screening confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids, and tannins in all variations. Antibacterial testing revealed that boiling for 15 min exhibited the highest activity, with an inhibition zone diameter of 10.43±1.33 mm, reflecting strong antibacterial efficacy. This result significantly differed from the 5 and 10 min treatments. The 5 min boiling treatment demonstrated a smaller inhibition zone with an average diameter of 5.71±1.67 mm, indicating moderate antibacterial activity, but it did not differ significantly from the 10 min treatment. A chemical analysis by GC-MS for the 15 min boiling sample successfully identified 23 compounds, and among these chemicals, hexadecanoic acid was found as the predominant component.

Nitrogen fertilization plays a crucial role in supporting plant growth. However, nitrogen in the soil can be lost through rainwater leaching. To address this issue, the concept of fertilizing N-stabilizer-coated urea was proposed. The aim is to reduce nitrogen loss on the field due to vaporization and minimize greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of this N-stabilizer-coated urea in reducing nitrogen loss through vaporization, improving GHG emissions, and its impact on plant growth and leaf quality. The research was conducted at IPB-Cargill Jonggol, Bogor, West Java, oil palm education and research station from August 2021 to March 2022. The experimental design employed a completely randomized block design. The fertilizer treatments included four types of nitrogen fertilizers: urea (46% N), coated urea with N-stabilizer (46% N), ZA (21% N), and NPK (15-15-15, 15% N). Additionally, a control treatment without any fertilizer application was included. All treatments were replicated three times. Data analysis was done using the SAS (Statistical Analysis System) 9.0 program. The F-test was conducted, followed by DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) advanced tests at a 5% error level. The results revealed that urea with N-stabilizer fertilization significantly reduced NH3-vaporization by 53% in the first week compared to the application of normal urea. NH3-vaporization level from ZA and NPK was < 1% compared to urea application. Field application of urea with N-stabilizer showed no significant difference in greenhouse gas emission (GHG) compared to the other nitrogen fertilizer types. The GHG values ranged from 7.10 to 7.29 g CO2-e.m-2 per day. The use of N-stabilizer-coated urea could be an effective approach to minimize nitrogen loss through vaporization and reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining comparable results to other nitrogen fertilizer types in terms of GHG emissions on the field.

Sustainable agriculture involves complex interactions among social, economic, and ecological dimensions, each with distinct interests and goals. Achieving sustainable agricultural development is challenging and requires a comprehensive response. This study focuses on Indonesia’s garlic production, employing a systems thinking approach to provide a holistic understanding of the interconnected factors influencing sustainable agricultural systems. We utilized the first two steps of the five-step systems thinking methodology—problem articulation and the formulation of dynamic hypotheses. This process involved developing a causal loop diagram (CLD) to represent the dynamic hypotheses and identifying system archetypes to determine leverage and potential intervention points. Our analysis identified three system archetypes—Drifting Goals, Fixes that Fail, and Limit to Growth—as key patterns influencing the sustainability of garlic production. The Drifting Goals archetype reveals that efforts to boost local garlic stock in Indonesia are hindered by the allocation of garlic for seeds, due to the lack of a clear distinction between garlic for consumption and seed. The Fixes that Fail archetype illustrates the long-term detrimental effects of short-term agricultural practices, such as the overuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The Limit to Growth archetype underscores the critical need for enhanced market access and a shift in consumer preferences to sustain garlic farming. To address these challenges, we recommend establishing clear distinctions between garlic for consumption and seed production, developing the seed industry, promoting integrated pest management, and reducing reliance on chemical inputs through environmentally friendly technology. Additionally, ensuring market and price stability is vital to maintain farmers’ interest in garlic cultivation. Therefore, the government should prioritize market penetration for local garlic and consistently enforce import restrictions to ensure the sustainability of garlic production in Indonesia.

CO2 and SO2 gases are utilized in various industrial applications and are subjects of environmental research. However, these gases are considered toxic and pose dangers at certain concentrations. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor and control the exposure to these gases in the environment to prevent reaching hazardous levels that could endanger both humans and the environment. A non-contact detection and monitoring system is essential to minimize the adverse effects of direct gas exposure. In this research, a non-contact detection system for CO2, SO2, and mixed gases was developed using optical imaging analysis generated by infrared cameras. The images were captured using the FLIR Vue Pro-R infrared camera, with infrared absorbing gas sourced from a 50-watt tungsten lamp. Visual identification of these gases through optical imaging is challenging; however, this study successfully identified these gases using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The CNN architecture used in this study is DenseNet (Densely Connected Convolutional Networks), comprising 169 convolution layers. The CNN model was trained and tested on experimental optical imaging data, categorized into three classes: CO2, SO2, and a mixture of gases. A total of 1030 optical imaging data points were utilized for training. Training was conducted using the AdamW optimization function over 28 epochs. The evaluation of results yielded accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The novelty of this study lies in the successful identification of CO2, SO2, and their mixture by the CNN model with an accuracy of 85%. Precision, recall, and F1-score values are all 0.85. These results indicate that the CNN model effectively distinguishes optical imaging of each gas (CO2, SO2, and their mixture) consistently and accurately. Consequently, it can be concluded that the CNN model performs well in distinguishing between these gases in optical imaging analysis.

Monochoria vaginalis is an invasive weed that thrives in rice paddies across Indonesia. Herbicide control is challenging since Monochoria vaginalis is known to be sulfonylurea-resistant in Indonesian rice fields. This weed is highly competitive, with a rapid growth pattern that may diminish rice production. Metsulfuron-methyl, a widely used herbicide, can potentially eliminate sensitive weeds at low dosage levels. This study aimed to identify the optimal dosage of metsulfuron-methyl for controlling Monochoria vaginalis and assess the impact of monoculture rice growing patterns and herbicide application in controlling weeds. The experimental design was a split-plot design with four replications, conducted from June to July 2023 in the Cikabayan Greenhouse at IPB University. The major plot was the Monochoria vaginalis accession: exposed or not exposed to herbicide, consisting of seven sites. The subplot represented the dosage of the active ingredient (a.i.) metsulfuron-methyl: 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 g.ha-1. In addition to the field experiments, interviews were performed with five farmers from each of the seven Monochoria vaginalis sample accessions to assess rice planting patterns and herbicide usage history. The results showed that metsulfuron-methyl at 1 g.ha-1 reduced weed populations by over 50% in rice accessions Bugel, Palumbonsari, and Ciasem Hilir. Variability in Monochoria vaginalis indicated resistance to metsulfuron-methyl, necessitating greater dosages up to 8 g a.i. per ha-1 for Pasirkaliki and Rancajaya accessions. Our study also indicated that some areas could use lower dosages of herbicides to effectively control Monochoria vaginalis. In contrast to other places that required larger, three-yearly dosages of 100 to 125 g.ha-1, Bugel, Palumbonsari, and Ciasem Hilir used a twice-yearly dosage of 20 g.ha-1. These findings highlight the importance of tailored herbicide application strategies based on local resistance patterns and historical herbicide use to manage Monochoria vaginalis effectively.

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang menerapkan sistem pemerintahan demokrasi dikenal dengan demokrasi Pancasila. Demokrasi yang berkualitas akan menciptakan stabilitas politik yang kokoh dan dapat berpotensi menjadi instrumen untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Tulisan ini mengkaji pengaruh indeks demokrasi yang terdiri dari aspek kebebasan sipil, hak-hak politik, dan lembaga demokrasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Dasar teori yang digunakan adalah demokrasi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat gabungan, yakni secara kuantitatif, yang berbasis analisis regresi data panel dan secara kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka yang diperoleh secara daring. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan aspek lembaga demokrasi berpengaruh secara langsung dan nyata terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia. Sementara itu, aspek kebebasan sipil dan hak-hak politik tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Temuan ini memperkuat teori dan hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait demokrasi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Pemerintah pusat dan daerah, serta masyarakat harus terus menjaga kualitas demokrasi supaya stabilitas politik dapat terkendali dan pertumbuhan ekonomi dapat berkontribusi bagi masyarakat dan negara.

Agroforestry systems, particularly the coffee agroforestry system (CAS), represent a promising approach to achieving sustainable development and promoting a green economy in Indonesia. Our research aims to explore the potential of CAS to provide ecosystem services and socio-economic benefits and address environmental risks in Indonesia. To critically analyze the current state of CAS in Indonesia, its potential for sustainable development, and the challenges that should be addressed to increase its uptake, we conducted a systematic review of published academic literature. Our findings suggest that CAS has the potential to turn a profit in the future thanks to rising global and domestic market demand as well as environmental benefits like reducing carbon emissions and improving resource efficiency. However, several challenges should be addressed to improve coffee quality and sustain green economy activities, including product certification, collaboration with NGOs and business entities, and coordination of government policies at the site level. Overall, this study highlights the importance of CAS as a green economy approach in Indonesia and suggests policy recommendations to support its promotion and adoption. By addressing the challenges and promoting the potential of CAS, sustainable development and green economic growth can be achieved in Indonesia.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of digital marketing on purchasing decisions, word of mouth on purchasing decisions as well as the effect of service quality on online shop purchasing decisions. The variables studied include digital marketing, word of mouth, service quality and consumer purchasing decisions. The types in this study used quantitative survey research. This study used data collection techniques using online questionnaire methods distributed among online shop consumers. The number of samples in this study were 630 online shop consumers. The research used simple random sampling techniques. Variable measurement used a Likert scale from 1 to 5. The data analysis technique in this study implemented Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis tool. The results of this study indicated that digital marketing had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, Word of mouth had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, and service quality had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions.

ABSTRAK Dalam penelitian ini akan diukur tingkat kecerahan langit untuk mengetahui waktu menghilangnya cahaya merah syafaq yang ada di langit setelah matahari terbenam pada malam hari. Awal waktu malam atau waktu isya diisyaratkan oleh beberapa ulama dengan menghilangnya mega merah atau saat langit benar-benar gelap. Dalam pengukuran tingkat kecerahan langit menggunakan alat Sky Quality Meter (SQM) yang merupakan salah satu teknologi sensor cahaya non image dengan pendekatan pengolahan menggunakan metode Moving Average. Data diperoleh dari SQM yang diambil selama 12 hari berturut-turut pada bulan Maret saat Matahari berada di dekat Ekuator. Hasil penelitian dalam data yang telah diolah dan diproses menunjukkan bahwa awal waktu langit mulai gelap paling awal pada pukul 19:39:19 WIB pada dip matahari 16° 22’ 17” dan paling akhir pada pukul 19:46:12 WIB pada dip 17° 28’ 47”. Dapat disimpulkan dalam penelitian ini cahaya syafaq menghilang berdasarkan pengamatan dan pengolahan menggunakan metode Moving Average menunjukkan pada range 16° 22’ 17” sampai 17° 28’ 47”. ABSTRACT In this study, the night sky brightness was measured to determine the disappearance time of the reddish light of syafaq in the sky after sunset. The beginning of the night or Isya is hinted at by some scholars with the disappearance of the red sky or when the sky is completely dark. The measurement of the sky brightness using the Sky Quality Meter (SQM) instrument which is one of the non-image light sensor technologies with the Moving Average approach method. The data were obtained from 12 consecutive days in March when the Sun was near the Equator. The results of this study show that at the beginning of the time the sky begins to darken earliest at 19:39:19 WIB on the solar dip at 16° 22' 17" and the latest at 19:46:12 WIB at dip 17° 28' 47". It can be concluded in this study that the light disappear based on observation and processing using the Moving Average method shows in the range of 16° 22' 17" to 17° 28' 47". This study, titled “Chronicles of the Midnight Strain: Exploring Graveyard Shift Stress and Its Impact on Employee Burnout in Call Centers,” delves into the intricate relationship between the demanding nature of graveyard shift work in call centers and its potential consequences on employee burnout. The research adopts a comprehensive approach, investigating various factors such as electronic performance monitoring, job demands, physiological indicators, and the role of lifestyle factors in cardiovascular health. Drawing from a vast array of literature, the study explores the causal links and mechanisms of action, emphasizing the significant role of sleep disruption and circadian rhythm desynchronization in contributing to cardiovascular disease among shift workers. Additionally, it considers the impact of stress, working hours, and dietary patterns on the overall well- being of employees working during the unconventional hours of the night. The study reviews existing theories proposing connections between shiftwork, sleep loss, and cardiovascular diseases. It scrutinizes factors like inflammation, blood coagulation, cardiac autonomic function, and the interplay between stress-related hormones and cardiovascular health. Multiple hypotheses are examined, including the influence of a stressful work environment, disturbed sleep on the immune system, and lifestyle factors such as dietary habits and substance use. Despite over two decades of continuous research, the findings in this area remain inconclusive regarding the precise role of shiftwork in cardiovascular disease. The study aims to contribute valuable insights into mitigating the potential adverse effects of graveyard shift stress on employee burnout in call centers, providing a foundation for further research and the development of targeted interventions.

Palm oil (Elaeis guenesis jacq) is an important commodity in Indonesia. Assessments of the underlying causes of yield gaps in oil palm production systems worldwide are lacking in exploring existing knowledge about oil palm productivity from a crop physiological perspective. Modifying the roots of oil palm plants through root cutting can affect the availability of carbon stocks in the soil because roots are one of the sources of organic carbon input into the soil. The purpose of the study was to analyses the effect of cutting the roots of oil palm plants on the availability of carbon stocks and soil fertility for these crops. The land where the study took place had a relatively low soil fertility status, there were several parameters observed showing low availability status in the soil. The low content of nutrients in the soil causes limited soil in providing nutrients to support plant growth.

Food systems encompass complex and interconnected networks involved in the production, processing, distribution, and consumption of food. Currently, the food system confronts significant challenges related to the environment, society, and economy. A 2023 joint report by FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO underscored the major obstacles impeding the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the food system. The report emphasized the challenges associated with meeting the needs of the growing global population. These challenges, particularly in addressing hunger, are exacerbated by rapid population growth, resource scarcity, climate change, the impact of COVID-19, and conflicts. Recognizing the imperative need to transform the food system towards sustainability to fulfil the dietary demands of the expanding global population, the pivotal roles of food technology and regulatory science in addressing these challenges were highlighted. It’s essential to prioritize the development and promotion of food technology innovations, especially for microand small-scale food producers, to enhance the safety, quality, nutritional value, shelf life, functionality, accessibility, affordability, diversity, and appeal of food, thus promoting healthier dietary practices. Moreover, the crucial role of regulatory science was emphasized, specifically in formulating and enforcing regulatory and policy frameworks conducive to fostering innovation and ensuring alignment of the food industry with the SDGs. Both food technology and regulatory science are indispensable components in facilitating the transformation towards a sustainable food system.

Crude oil of common ponyfish (Leiognathus equulus) is a by-product of fish protein hydrolysate manufacturing at PT. Berikan Teknologi Indonesia. The quality of the crude fish oil produced falls below the International Fishmeal and Oil Manufacturers Association Standard. Therefore, to improve its quality, a purification process comprising of three stages was employed, degumming with NaCl (5-10%), neutralization with NaOH (10-18°Be), and bleaching with activated charcoal (6-10%). The purification process was optimized using RSM with the Box-Behnken Design. The 15 concentration formulations were obtained with response variables taken based on chemical test parameters (free fatty acids (FFA), acid value, peroxide value, and iodine value). The optimal point of NaCl, NaOH, and activated charcoal concentration was determined at 10%, 18°Be, and 9.4%, respectively with a desirability of 0.744. The purified common ponyfish oil exhibited FFA at 9.52±0.21%, acid value at 3.42±0.17 mg KOH/g, peroxide value at 1.25±0.03 mEq/Kg, and iodine value at 4.12±0.13 mEq/Kg. Pure common ponyfish oil resulting from the optimal conditions has been verified. All parameters indicate that the quality of common ponyfish oil is improved by the refining process. This indicates that the optimized process may be applied in real production in the field with a high degree of confidence.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Despite the fact that various therapeutic compounds have shown potential prevention or treatment, no specific medicine has been developed for the COVID-19 pandemic. Natural products have recently been suggested as a possible treatment option for COVID-19 prevention and treatment. This study focused on the potential of Coriander sativum L. (CSL) against COVID-19 based on network pharmacology approach. Interested candidates of CSL were identified by searching accessible databases for protein–protein interactions with the COVID-19. An additional GO and KEGG pathway analysis was carried out in order to identify the related mechanism of action. In the end, 51 targets were obtained through network pharmacology analysis with EGFR, AR, JAK2, PARP1, and CTSB become the core target. CSL may have favorable effects on COVID-19 through a number of important pathways, according to GO and KEGG pathway analyses. These findings suggest that CSL may prevent and inhibit the several processes related to COVID-19.

Life in the New Normal era makes adjustments in education. When the situation was still in a pandemic, learning was carried out fully online, now we had to switch to face-to-face learning, but it is still limited. This study aims to explain the assumption of using a blended learning model implemented using Simpel-12 in the New Normal era. The method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Participants in this study were representatives of students at SMAN 12 Semarang who carried out blended learning. The research was carried out in Indonesian class subjects. The results showed that teachers and students agreed that the blended learning model was more effective in teaching. Students' understanding of the material is recognized as better when blended learning is compared to fully online learning.

Coffee is one of the most important commodities traded widely in the world. To increase coffee productivity, maintenance efforts are needed such as maintenance, land clearing, fertilization, and cultivation. All of these steps require a large amount of money. For this reason, Chinese coffee farmers need loan funds to increase their productivity and income. This study aims to determine the results of the financing provided by BLU to coffee farmers in Cinanggela Village. Data collection includes primary and secondary data. Then, the study was carried out using the Microsoft Office Excel program and the Multi-Dimensional Scaling Method through the Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (Rapfish) software. The results obtained indicate that there is a significant increase in the income of farmers, increased by Rp12,578,381 per ha with a production yield of 7496.9 kg per ha. This means that the maintenance of coffee trees in Cinanggela Village is included in profitable farming with an R/C ratio of 2.94. Meanwhile, the results of the sustainability analysis on the economic dimension show sufficient sustainability status with an index of 56.71. The ecological dimension shows a less sustainable status with a value of 49.93. And the social dimension shows the lowest sustainability status, namely 44.09 with the attribute value of coffee sales (2.4), community participation (3.2), and the frequency of conflicts between farmers (2.6). The low values of some of these attributes need to be used as inputs to the Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH) as the successor to the financing previously carried out by BLU. During the northwest monsoon (NWM), southerly flow off the Natuna Islands appeared as the extension of the turning Vietnam coastal jet, known as Natuna off-shelf current (NOC). NOC is generated by the interaction of wind stress and the North Natuna Sea’s bottom topography. The purposes of the present study is to investigate the vertical variability of NOC and its relation to El Niňo Southern Oscillation (ENSO) using Marine Copernicus reanalysis data. The vertical variability refers to the spatial distribution of NOC pattern at the surface layer, thermocline layer, and deep/bottom layer. in 2014 as representative of normal ENSO condition. To investigate the effect of ENSO, the spatial distribution of NOC in 2011 and 2016 were compared which represent the La Niňa and El Niňo conditions, respectively. The results show that NOC starts to generate at the southeast monsoon season to the transition I season and peaks in the northwest monsoon season. The occurrence of NOC is identified at all depth layers with the weakened NOC at the deep layer. Related to the ENSO effect, La Niňa tends to strengthen NOC while El Niňo tends to weaken NOC. These are releted with the strengthening and weakening northerly wind speed during La Niňa and El Niňo, Respectively. During La Niňa events, the NOC occurs more frequently than during El Niňo. Thus, beside affecting the magnitude of NOC, ENSO also influence the frequency occurrence of NOC.

Aquaponics is a technology that combines fish and vegetable cultivation at one system. Aquaponics can be used as an alternative to drive food resilience at the family level. For it can also provide benefits for improving family nutrition by fulfilling animal and vegetable protein, it is necessary to disseminate this technology to the public. The implementation of this service community program aims to disseminate aquaponic technology to the community, especially in Kampung Wolulas Group, Turen District of Malang Regency. The method used in the program was to provide solutions and basic information related to aquaponics, which was implemented through training and applications as well as partner assistance. There were three models of appropriate aquaponic technology applied, namely the bucket pond, the round tarpaulin pond, and the square tarpaulin pond. The cultivation results showed the survival rate of catfish by 65% and the feed conversion ratio of 1,1. Based on the results of the aquaponics, it is more expected to be a solution for family food resilience, especially in partner groups. Akuaponik merupakan teknologi yang menggabungkan budidaya ikan dan tanaman sayuran dalam satu periode budidaya. Teknologi akuaponik bisa dijadikan alternatif untuk menggerakkan kemandirian pangan di tingkat keluarga. Karena sangat berguna untuk memberikan manfaat bagi peningkatan gizi keluarga melalui pemenuhan gizi protein hewani dan nabati, perlu adanya diseminasi teknologi akuaponik ini kepada masyarakat. Pelaksanaan program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan teknologi akuaponik pada masyarakat khususnya di Kelompok Kampung Wolulas Kecamatan Turen, Kabupaten Malang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan Program Pengabdian Kelompok ini adalah memberikan solusi dan informasi dasar terkait teknologi akuaponik di kelompok mitra, yang dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan pelatihan dan aplikasi teknologi, serta pendampingan mitra. Terdapat 3 model teknologi tepat guna akuaponik yang diaplikasikan, yaitu model akuaponik dengan kolam bak ember, kolam terpal bundar, dan kolam terpal kotak. Hasil budidaya menunjukkan keberhasilan hidup ikan lele sebesar 65% dan rasio konversi pakan (FCR) sebesar 1,1. Dengan hasil penerapan teknologi akuaponik ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi kemandirian pangan keluarga khususnya di kelompok mitra.

Urban forests have a high intensity of exposure from external factors such as air pollution and human activity disturbances. As a result, fallen trees and tree defects often occurred and can endanger the people around the city. This study aimed to assess tree health in Cianjur Urban Forest and formulate tree health management strategies. The tree health assessment used the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method. The management strategy was formulated using the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Matrix and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM). Tree sampling using FHM plots determined about 534 trees from 30 species. The results showed that Cianjur Urban Forest had high land productivity and biodiversity. The canopy condition was 86.41% in good condition. The results revealed that 92.70%, 5.34%, 1.31%, and 0.56% of the trees were in healthy, lightly, moderately, and heavily damaged conditions, respectively. The tree species that suffered the most damage was Acacia denticulosa. The most types of tree damage were leaf damage and rotten wood. Cianjur Urban Forest benefits the community as a place for natural tourism, sports, education, and expand job opportunities. However, the management of Cianjur Urban Forest has not been implemented effectively. There are three priority strategies to improve tree health management in Cianjur Urban Forest, i.e., conducting the assessment, evaluation, and action on damaged trees, community cooperation, institutional strengthening development programs, and optimizing collaboration and government commitment with managers. This study discusses the structure of Ibn Sina's thought and its contextualization in the contemporary era from a subjective point of view referring to aspects of soul purification. Ibn Sina divides the human soul into three parts, they are: "nabatiyyah," "hayawâniyyah," and "insâniyyah" souls. According to Ibnu Sina, human morals are in the "nabatiyyah," so the education that must be taught is education related to morals, cleanliness, and the arts, this education is carried out at the Early Childhood Education level. When the child is in the "hayawaniyyah," that is when the child can respond and move through sensing, then the student is in a state of stimulation through understanding the Qur'an, especially reading, and interpreting it, followed by lessons to be able to study, analyze and be critical of the meaning from every verse of Allah SWT, both "kauliyyah" (the Qur'an) and "kauniyyah" (the universe). In the "insâniyyah" soul, the child is endeavored to be educated so that they can integrate intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence, to create an integrative education, they are education that can unite the dimensions of service ("al-'Amilah") and spiritual ("al-'Alimah"). This literature review confirms that to achieve the goals of Islamic education, the educational model that is applied wherever possible leads to purification of the soul, because with a pure soul the process of entering knowledge into students' souls will be easy. Abstract Giant prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) is a crustacean class that has the larg- est size and its habitat in Sembakung waters included brackish water (estuarine) with a salinity variable of 6.5+0.5 ppt and a temperature variable of 28.5+0.5OC and a variable pH of 6 (acidic). The objective of this research was to analyze the growth and mortality model of giant prawns (M. rosenbergii) that was taken from the catch of fisherman in the estuary, Sembakung sub-district, Nunukan Regency, Indonesia. The study was conducted for 3 months from November 2019 to Janu- ary 2020. The sampling was by using a survey method with purposive judgment sampling based on a catch of 14 fishermen who used the bottom fish pot from Sembakung waters, Nunukan Regency (Indonesia). The data collection included data of sex, total length, and the total weight of giant prawns. While analysis was employed for growth pattern, condition index, Von Bertalanffy growth, and mor- tality. The results obtain the sex ratio of male and female giant prawns 1:3.67. The growth pattern of male and female giant prawns were allometric negative. The growth of the von Bertalanffy model for infinitive growth of male giant prawns were 21.219 cm and female were 18.42 cm, respectively the mortality from giant prawns obtain total male mortality is 2,257, catch mortality is 1.92 and natural mortality is 33.75% with an exploitation rate of 0.85 (85%). The total female mor- tality is 1.528, catch mortality is 120.1% and natural mortality is 32.69% with an exploitation rate of 0.786 (78.6%).

The objective of the study was to determine the growth pattern of clam Potamocorbula faba inhabited the estuarine of Permisan Bay, Indonesia by using the Linear Allometric Model (LAM). Its also evaluated by using the length-weight relationships (LWR) and Fulton’s condition factor (K–value). A total of 7 996 specimens with length intervals of 3.5 mm to 17 mm and weight intervals of 0.013 g to 0.636 g were collected from nine sites in Permisan Bay. Based on the length-weight relationships (LWR), equations in ST–1 (0.000886870 L2.17379); ST–2 (0.000884219 L2.15471); ST–3 (0.000832626 L2.18971); ST–4 (0.000746758 L2.21150); ST–5 (0.000687148 L2.28593); ST–6 (0.000765876 L2.23830); ST–7 (0.000657461 L2.31064); ST–8 (0.000379673 L2.52229); and ST–9 (0.000799816 L 2.22922) were obtained. Regarding the b–value, almost all sites showed b < 3, and thus the growth pattern could be categorized as negative allometric. Condition factor (K-value) in all nine sites ranged between 1.1101 to 1.1552. The highest K-value was from ST–7 while ST–2 showed the lowest. During the study period (September 2014 to April 2015), Fulton’s condition factor (K–value) of all nine sites was not significantly different (P > 0.05).

Degradation of peatland ecosystem on community land is controlled by the article 32 A paragraph (3) of Government Regulation Number 57 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 71 of 2014 concerning Protection and Management of Peatland Ecosystems which provide explicit direction that the restoration of peatland ecosystem forest and functions owned by the community or indigenous peoples is their responsibility. To assist the community to have countermeasures actions for peatland ecosystem degradation on the community land, the government has implemented the Peatland Self-supporting Villages (Desa Mandiri Peduli Gambut) program since 2016 in several provinces including Central Kalimantan Province. This study aims to: (1) analyze the current policy for controlling degradation to the peatland ecosystem if it applied to community land, and (2) Analyze the implementation of the policy for controlling degradation to the peatland ecosystem through the implementation of the Peatland Self-supporting Villages in the ex PLG area of Central Kalimantan Province by assessing the sustainability and implementation strategy of the program. The results of the study are: (1) The peatland ecosystem destruction control policy that has been applied to the licensed land can be applied to community land as long as they has sufficient capacity (2) the sustainability assessment of the implementation of the Peatland Self-supporting Villages program in the ex-PLG Area of ​​Central Kalimantan Province is included in the “moderate” category with an index value of 68.54, while the main strategy for proper implementation is by conducting exposure meetings of the Community Work Plan (Rencana Kerja Masyarakat, RKM) document to the relevant agencies and collaborating through programs that are in accordance with their duties.

Applying and optimizing an intercropping system between oil palm and seasonal crops such as maize in the immature palm oil plantation is one way of obtaining additional income for farmers until the main crop (oil palm) mature and ready to harvest. The aim of the research was to determine the effects of fertilizers, particularly nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) on the growth and production of maize in an intercropping system with oil palm. The experiment, using one-factor randomized complete block design, was conducted at the Cikabayan Experimental Station, IPB University, Indonesia, from August to December 2020. Four set-ups were prepared corresponding to four different fertilizer applications as follows: A0 (without treatment), A1 (240 g Urea + 80 g KCl + 320 g SP-36 per plot), A2 (480 g Urea + 160 g KCl + 320 g SP-36 per plot), A3 (720 g Urea + 240 g KCl + 320 g SP-36 per plot). Applying the highest dosages of N and K (A3), significantly increased plant height, fresh weight, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, cob length, cob weight, and husk-free cob weight. Intercropping maize with immature oil palm did not affect the oil palm growth.

KUD Tunas Muda is one of the cooperatives active in using information technology to serve the needs of its members, especially related to oil palm activities. However, not all palm oil activities have been carried out through digitization. This paper aims to provide an overview of the readiness of the KUD located in Riau Province in digitizing smallholder oil palm plantations, which include activities in preparing inputs, cultivation, marketing, and receiving payments. This study also aims to analyze strategic priorities that cooperatives can carry out in digitizing smallholder palm oil. This study uses two methods in its analysis, namely descriptive analysis, and analytical hierarchy process. Based on the study, cooperative management is quite prominent in initiating and building digital systems in services for their members. This is because the KUD already has experience in digitalization, although the function is still limited. According to the analysis, the prioritized strategy is to increase the understanding of oil palm farmers, especially among members, in using digital technology and information to support the digitalization of oil palm plantations. Abstract CO2 gas injection is one of the recommended enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods by injecting CO2 through reservoir pores after the residual saturation is reached, since CO2 dissolves easily in oil phase as confirmed by many other researchers in pertaining field studies. An integrated system is urgently required for assessing CO2-EOR study, covering multi-disciplinary aspects as follows: geology, geophysics, reservoir, production, process and economic. Hence, those systems must be reliable in suggesting final decision for feasibility of CO2-EOR operation program, applicable either for pilot scale or for full scale. This paper is proposing an integrated system evaluation, which has the following features: (1) estimate fraction of dissolved CO2, (2) estimate viscosity reduction, (3) estimate future oil productivity index resulted, (4) forecast incremental oil production, (5) estimate surface facilities equipment design, (6) evaluate economical aspects and (7) generate final decision for feasibility of CO2-EOR operation program. Finally, as the main objective of this program, those systems will present a picture of essential reason why we need to promote or reject CO2-EOR plan program, and also some recommendations will be presented in case the CO2-EOR plan does not perform as expected.

Abstrak. Selama satu tahun, Matahari tidak selalu berada di daerah khatulistiwa, namun terkadang berada di daerah utara khatulistiwa serta daerah selatan khatulistiwa. Kedudukan Matahari di khatulistiwa disebut ekuinoks, kedudukan Matahari saat berada di titik terjauh di utara dari khatulistiwa disebut solstis musim panas (summer solstice), kedudukan Matahari saat berada di titik terjauh di selatan dari khatulistiwa disebut solstis musim dingin (winter solstice). Matahari di Observatorium Ilmu Falak Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara menunjukkan posisi yang berbeda saat ekuinoks, summer soltice, dan winter solstice. Matahari terbit di arah timur dan terbenam di arah barat hanya terjadi pada saat ekuinoks. Meskipun saat ekuinoks, namun Matahari tidak dapat menunjukk arah timur dan barat sepanjang hari. Hal ini disebabkan pergerakan Matahari tidak tegak lurus terhadap horizon melainkan miring sesuai dengan lintang tempat. Abstract. During one year, the Sun is not always in the equator, but sometimes it is in the north of the equator and the south of the equator. The position of the Sun at the equator is called the equinox, the position of the Sun when it is at its farthest point north of the equator is called the summer solstice, the position of the Sun when it is at the farthest point south of the equator is called the winter solstice. The Sun at Obervatorium Ilmu Falak Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara shows a different position during the equinox, summer solstice, and winter solstice. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west only at the equinox. Even at the equinox, the Sun can't show east and west all day. This is due to the movement of the Sun not perpendicular to the horizon but tilted in accordance with the latitude of the place.

One of the consequences of deforestation is the spread of critical land both inside and outside the forest area. Agroforestry or intercropping is developed to provide benefits and improve welfare for the community, and to optimize the results of a form of sustainable land use to ensure and improve food needs. Eucalyptus is one type of plant that is suitable for forest land rehabilitation because of its ability to live on marginal lands. The purpose of the study was to assess the feasibility of eucalyptus oil business and formulate business sustainability development from seven aspects/feasibility parameters, which are namely: (1) legal aspects, (2) social, economic and cultural aspects, (3) market aspects, (4) management and human resources, (5) risk management aspects, (6) technical aspects, and (7) financial aspects. Meanwhile, to find out whether the eucalyptus business activity as a whole can be sustainable, and its development model, a sustainability analysis was carried out using the cobweb (Amoeba) method. Within the framework of sustainability, eucalyptus concessions must make changes and innovations (Estimated business feasibility on a planting area of 5,200 ha obtained a Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp. 950,734,956,062, - with a discounted interest rate of 12% shows that the eucalyptus oil industry will get a net profit of Rp 7,076,409,779,281, - BC Ratio of 12.56, Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 55%, Payback Period in the 5th year 4 months shows that in a period of 5 years and 4 months from the investment can be returned from business revenues. The results showed that the seven aspects/parameters were declared feasible and continued with a sustainability analysis and concluded that the eucalyptus oil concession was declared sustainable.

The agricultural sector is annually included in the top three after the manufacturing sector and wholesale and retail trade sectors as Indonesia’s largest contributor to gross domestic product (GDP). The average contribution of the agricultural sector to the country’s income is around 11–13% of total GDP. The GRDP of the agricultural sector (AgriGRDP) is an indicator of the economic growth of Indonesia’s agricultural sector. This study aims to examine the contribution of plantation crop production (PPC), food crop production (PFC), horticultural crop production (PHC), and farmer terms of trade (FTT) to the AgriGRDP. This study uses secondary data sourced from BPS-Statistics Indonesia. This research method uses panel data regression analysis with time series data for 2018–2021 and cross-sectional data from 33 provinces in Indonesia, resulting in 132 observations. The results of this study found that the best econometric model to answer the research objectives is the random effect model (REM). The findings of this study indicate that simultaneously and partially, the variables PPC, PFC, PHC, and FTT have a significant positive effect on AgriGRDP. An increase in PPC, PFC, PHC, and FTT will increase Indonesia’s AgriGRDP.

In future decades, Indonesia will increase its exports of poultry meat products in response to an increasing trend. To our knowledge, no study has investigated the differences between native and broiler chicken meat post gamma irradiation treatment. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the effect of gamma irradiation on color, pH and surface image of native and broiler chicken meat. The treatments observed in this study were two types of chicken meat (native vs broiler) which were gamma irradiated at doses of 0, 5 and 10 kGy. This research aimed to determine the effect of practicum learning methods on Geographic Information System (GIS) learning outcomes and high school students activities. The subjects of this research were students of class X Senior High School 1 Pare, Kediri Regency, even in the semester 2018/2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. The research instrument used essay questions and student activity rubrics. The data are in the form of learning outcomes and student activities. Data collection techniques include a pretest, posttest, and student activity observation. The gain score data were analyzed using parametric inferential statistics with MANOVA. The hypothesis test results showed that the significance value of the practical method on learning outcomes was 0.000, and the practice method to activity was 0.000. The significance value of the two variables is below 0.05. This test shows that the practicum method affects the learning outcomes of GIS and the activity of high school students. Improved learning outcomes from a score of 55.4 to 82.7. Increased activity from 30 inactive categories to 75.8 active categories. This influence is reflected during learning, where practicum provides a deepening that involves many senses, making learning meaningful, collaborative, and student-centered.

Pada campuran perkerasan aspal dibutuhkan bahan pengisi (filler) untuk mendukung kinerja konstruksi perkerasan jalan agar dapat menahan beban lalu lintas. Berbagai jenis filler telah banyak digunakan antara lain limestone, semen portland dan lain-lain. Namun keterbatasan sumber daya alam mendorong upaya pemanfaatan bahanbahan buangan dalam konstruksi perkerasan jalan. Pada penelitian ini, digunakan limbah kaca sebagai filler karena limbah kaca mengandung silika yang memiliki sifat adhesi tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosentase filler limbah kaca yang paling optimum terhadap kinerja campuran perkerasan aspal. Kinerja tersebut diukur melalui pengujian stabilitas, flow, Marshall Quotient, rongga dalam campuran, rongga di antara mineral agregat, rongga terisi aspal, Marshall immersion, tegangan tarik tidak langsung dan Cantabro loss. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan limbah kaca dengan proporsi 75% terhadap total berat filler meningkatkan stabilitas dan kekakuan campuran sehingga lebih mampu untuk menerima pembebanan. Campuran dengan proporsi 75% filler limbah kaca menghasilkan nilai VIM dan VMA lebih kecil serta nilai VFB lebih besar yang mengindikasikan bahwa campuran memiliki daya ikat dan sifat saling mengunci yang kuat sehingga menghasilkan rongga lebih kecil serta selimut aspal lebih tebal. Berdasarkan hasil uji Marshall immersion dan Cantabro loss, campuran dengan proporsi tersebut lebih tahan terhadap rendaman air sehingga memiliki durabilitas lebih tinggi serta lebih tahan terhadap potensi disintegrasi.

Abstract This paper discusses about the oil losses due to emulsion, flash, and mixing oil phenomena that frequently happened in the oil and gas companies. The goals of this work are to calculate the emulsion and vapor correction volumes, shrinkage correction volume of the mixture of two or more crude oils with different densities, and to compare between the common proportional method that usually utilized in petroleum industries and the new proposed stratified method for determining of sharing oil losses. The mixing of crude oils from 7 shippers in Krisna field would be used as a case study, and the equation of API 12.3 was chosen to calculate a shrinkage correction volume. Oils from shippers S1, S2, and S3 were first mixed together in TANK-1 of the 1st station; the mixed oil of TANK-1 was then transported to the next station and stored in the TANK-2 and mixed with other oils from shippers S4 and S5; and finally, the mixed oil of TANK-2 was transported to the final station and stored in the TANK-3 and mixed with other oils from shippers S6 and S7. The proportional method gave almost the same shrinkage correction factor (SCF) for all shippers about 0.20%, while stratified method resulted SCF in between 0.05 and 0.31%. Based on our analysis, more often oil mixes with others its volume would be more decreased. The stratified method is therefore recommended to determine sharing oil losses since it gives a fair result.

Forest clove (Zyzygium aromaticum) is a type of wild clove found in Moluccas. The increasing interest of farmers in cultivating this plant leads to complete their information of morpho-agronomical characteristics which could provide diversity reflecting morpho-agronomical their distribution areas. This study aimed to characterize the morpho-agronomical traits of Forest clove plants in Moluccas. By survey, Forest clove more than 15 year old tree totalling of 50 populations were observed their 54 morpho-agronomical characteristics in two areas (Ambon and Seram) from March to June 2018. Two aromatic cloves, namely Tuni and Zanzibar were used for comparative analysis. The results showed that Forest cloves had a similarity of 78% among the population and grouped into 3 groups with a morpho-agronomical variation of 22%. On the contrary, Forest cloves and comparators (Tuni and Zanzibar) had morpho-agronomical differences of 58%. Based on the main component analysis, there were 11 most influential characters of Forest cloves (leaf size index, leaf length, leaf width, leaf area, petiole length, flower length, diameter of flower tube, ripe flower weight, fruit length, fruit width, and fruit weight) which could be descriptors for this plant species.

This study aims to develop a system of crop spraying in the greenhouse using a microcontroller ATMega8535 automated. The benefits of automa-tion is the reduction in consumption of spraying time on the process of spraying, reduced manpower requirements, and increase the volume of spray so that the plants are watered harvest results as expected. The research was done by design, give depth and implement components system that includes: (1) mikorokontroler as process controllers, (2) DC motor as a driving force to open and close the roof, (3) the LDR as the light detector, (4) the detector TGS 2610 air humidity, and (5) water sensors to detect rain.

This study aims to describe the effect of application of SQ3R method and PQ3R method to students' reading skill. This research uses experimental method, Quasi Experimental Design research form with Nonequivalent Control Group Design design. Population in this research is all student of Study Program of Language and Literature of Indonesia semester 6 which amounted to 243. The sample used is class C Morning and class C afternoon obtained by simple random sampling technique. The technique used is the measurement with the tool in the form of reading test in the form of multiple choice which amounted to 30 items. Data analysis technique used in this research is anava 2 lane. Based on the result of data analysis, it is known that the application of SQ3R method and PQ3R method is good with the details as follows: (1) The average value before given treatment 20,476 with enough category; (2) the average application of the SQ3R method is 22.097 with good category; (3) the average percentage of PQ3R method is 22,045 with good category. Oil palm has the ability to sequester carbon dioxide stored as carbon stock. This study aimed to estimate carbon stock in some age classes, to determine the relationship between Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and carbon stock, and to estimate the distribution of oil palm carbon stock in Landscape Sembilang Dangku. Estimation of carbon stock were carried out at the non productive age plant phase namely 10 years. The carbon stock estimation used allometric equations. Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) /Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) was analyzed to determine NDVI. Making a map of the classification of carbon stock distribution using Software QGIS Las Palmas 2.18.0. The results showed that the carbon stock in the age class 10 was 79.83 ton C/ha. The relation between NDVI with carbon stock had a strong correlation (r = 0.9972) with regression equation Y = 638.13x - 242.65. Investigation of the electrical resistivity of Cu-doped PbS thin films has been carried out. The films were prepared using a DC sputtering technique. The doping was achieved by introducing the Cu dopant plate material directly on the surface of the PbS sputtering target plate. SEM-EDX data shows the Cu concentration in the PbS film to be proportional to the Cu plate diameter. The XRD pattern indicates the film is in crystalline cubic form. The Hall effect measurement shows that Cu doping yields an increase in the carrier concentration to 3.55 × 1019 cm−3 and a significant decrease in electrical resistivity. The lowest resistivity obtained was 0.13 Ωcm for a Cu concentration of 18.5%. Preferential orientation of (1 1 1) and (2 0 0) occurs during deposition. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sikap bahasa terhadap bahasa Indonesia di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IKIP-PGRI Pontianak. Sebuah penelitian survei dengan menggunakan bentuk penelitian deskritif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi bahasa Inggris IKIP PGRI Pontianak dengan sampel berjumlah 40 mahasiswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi langsung dan wawancara mendalam, selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan teknik survei dengan alat pengumpul data berupa angket semi tertutup. Interpretasi data disajikan dengan mengggunakan metode informal (a natural language). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan data skor kebanggaan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia rata-rata mahasiswa tergolong tinggi dengan skor 34.90 atau 77,56%. Hasil analisis data skor kesetiaan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia rata-rata mahasiswa tergolong tinggi dengan skor 25,88 atau 73,93%. Hasil analisis data skor kesadaran akan norma bahasa rata-rata mahasiswa tergolong tinggi dengan skor 26,90 atau 76,86%. Hasil analisis data skor sikap bahasa dilihat dari keseluruhan aspek rata-rata mahasiswa tergolong tinggi dengan skor 87,68 atau 76,24%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris IKIP PGRI Pontianak memiliki sikap positif terhadap bahasa Indonesia.

The landscape changed of palm oil plantation PTPN III (Persero) Afdeling I became The Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (SEZ), it gaves essential impact to the basic problems divided the households livelihood of casual workers (BHL) palm oil plantation in the Sei Mangkei village. This study was illustrated the resilience of the BHL households livelihood in the Sei Mangkei village. This paper aims to measured community resilience of a landscape changed afdeling I PTPN III (Persero) to divided Sei Mangkei SEZ. Analysis of livelihood resilience used a concept of rules is called an index, resilience indicators and households resilience were then collected through questionnaires. The respondent are many 30 BHL households, the sampling located at Sei Mangkei Village. From the calculation of the index has been obtained that result households resilience index a value of 0,35. That means livelihood resilience of BHL household is low when there has been a landscape change at afdeling I divided Sei Mangkei SEZ

Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (SEZ) have been designed by Government of Indonesia as industrial cluster for palm oil derivative product industries. In many cases, selected areas for industrial cluster developed into an industrial aglomeration than industrial clustering. To ensure industrial cluster accomplishment, sustainability and integration analysis should be done. The aim of paper was to conduct management strategic, sustainability and integration analysis of Sei Mangkei SEZ cluster development. Multicriteria Decision Making (MDM) analithycal hierarchy processs (AHP) was used to determine the value of strategic priority index. There considered for measuring the index categorized in 5 dimensions : economic, social, enviromental/ecological, laws regulations and institutional, industrial and technology. The index score of sustainability priority index of Sei Mangkei SEZ that showing that the industrial cluster development categorized as sufficient category. The lowest index was found for industrial and technology (0.195) and the highest was environment/ecological dimension and economic dimension (0.236). From the leverage analysis, some critical attributes in each dimensions were found and need improvement to increase the management strategic of Sei Mangkei SEZ into sustainability and integration. Institutional strengthening and accelerated development of infrastructure are the crucial factor should be prioritized for the development of palm oil based industrial cluster at Sei Mangkei SEZ. This could be a significant reference for the decision makers, in this case is Government (PTPN III State-Owned Enterprises and Administrator) in cooperation with private sectors (tenant) to develop Sei Mangkei SEZ

A study was conducted to study the morphology of the forest cloves groups based on their sizes of their leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds, and to determine their potential yield and optimize their production system. The research was conducted for six months from January until June 2018 in Ambon, Maluku Province, Indonesia. The research used a random sampling technique to > 15-year-old trees in productive clove forest maintained by the local farmer in Ambon. The observation and recording was conducted at several stages of clover growth, namely bud sprouting, flower bud, blooming, perianths and anthers senescence, unripe green and ripe fruits. Different size groups of forest cloves have significant differences in the duration of flower and fruit formation. Forest cloves with large leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds had quicker ripening process than the othersize groups, but their fruits were longer to ripen. Flower from the medium size group had the shortest duration to develop its flower and form its fruit, whereas the smallest type took the longest time in fruit formation process but the duration of fruit ripening was similar to those from large morphology. Among the three different sizes of forest cloves in Maluku, the trees with large leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds group are the best to be commercially developed due to its earliest time to harvest and large flower sizes. Forest cloves are best harvested when the flowers are fully matured, indicated by one or two flower buds from one inflorescence have bloomed.

The ethnoscience-based reflective learning model has been implemented in the classroom while the learning process has its own strengths and weaknesses. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between learning models and arguments for creative thinking. A mixed methods research design was applied to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data were collected using argumentation observations and essay tests which were analyzed with SPSS. Qualitative data sourced from one lecturer and 40 students of National Islamic Institute of Kerinci, Jambi Province were collected using interviews and observations. The results shows that there is an interaction between learning models and arguments for creative thinking. This can be seen from the whole learning process students have achieved indicators of creative thinking involving argumentation skills. We discussed this and formulated recommendations that can be implemented in the future.

Motivated by increasing religious intolerance, we study the socio-economic covariates of individual-level religious intolerance in Indonesia, the largest Muslim democracy in the world. We use panel data from 2007 and 2014 of more than 20,000 adult individuals (representing 83% of the population) and apply fixed-effect regression analysis to identify relevant socio-economic characteristics that are highly associated with religious intolerance at the individual level. We utilize survey questions on willingness to accept someone with different faith living in the same village, living in the same neighborhood, renting a house, marrying relatives or children, and building a place of worship in the neighborhood as our measures of religious intolerance. We find that higher individual income and educational attainment are positively correlated with the tolerance level. At the same time, a higher level of self-declared religiosity is negatively correlated with a tolerant attitude. For location-specific characteristics, higher income inequality and extent of poverty in the location where an individual resides are associated with a higher level of religious intolerance. These patterns are generally robust across different measures of religious intolerance, although there is heterogeneity in the magnitudes of the correlations, where these covariates have the smallest correlations with the willingness to accept interfaith marriage in the family.

Indonesian Sustainability Palm Oil (ISPO) is requirement for palm oil private business in the effort to preserve the environment, increase economic activities, and social activities of the community. The environmental management conducted by the company is analyzed by qualitative descriptive approach by comparing the condition of management before and after the implementation of ISPO. Measurement of the influence of CSR program as implementation in ISPO to the changing socio-economic condition of the community is done by quantitative approach with simple linear regression statistic analysis method. This study aims, first to analyze eh impacts of ISPO adoption in improving the environmental management performances of the company, second to analyze the influence of CSR program to the socio-economic condition of the community. ISPO implementation impacts on; first, environmental benefits obtained by the company include; (1) increase discharge and quality of processed wastewater for Land Application, (2) reduce of CO2 emissions 2.134.299 tons/year; (3) reduce of air emission and noise level in plant area; (4) reduce case of land fires and work accidents, (5) improve groundwater quality and Kandis river water quality, (6) improve of worker's capability and welfare. Second, the economic benefits obtained by the company, including; (1) increase of CPO production by 827 tons/year, and PKO production by 75 tons/year, (2) cost savings IDR 98.228.703/year from IPAL management improvements, and (3) Increase of company's revenue from selling hazardous waste to third party by IDR 343.734.000/year. Third, CSR program positively increase of community's income, education improvement of community family member, and better public perception to company.
