Chemistry assigns phosphorus and its most oxidized form, inorganic phosphate, unique roles for propelling bioenergetics and metabolism in all domains of life, possibly since its very origin on prebiotic Earth. For plants, access to the vital mineral nutrient profoundly affects growth, development and vigour, thus constraining net primary productivity in natural ecosystems and crop production in modern agriculture. Unlike other major biogenic elements, the low abundance and uneven distribution of phosphate in Earth's crust result from the peculiarities of phosphorus cosmochemistry and geochemistry. Here, we trace the chemical evolution of the element, the geochemical phosphorus cycle and its acceleration during Earth's history until the present (Anthropocene) as well as during the evolution and rise of terrestrial plants. We highlight the chemical and biological processes of phosphate mobilization and acquisition, first evolved in bacteria, refined in fungi and algae and expanded into powerful phosphate-prospecting strategies during land plant colonization. Furthermore, we review the evolution of the genetic and molecular networks from bacteria to terrestrial plants, which monitor intracellular and extracellular phosphate availabilities and coordinate the appropriate responses and adjustments to fluctuating phosphate supply. Lastly, we discuss the modern global phosphorus cycle deranged by human activity and the challenges imposed ahead. Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a model organism for unicellular green microalgae, is widely used in basic and applied research. Nonetheless, proceeding towards synthetic biology requires a full set of manipulation techniques for inserting, removing, or editing genes. Despite recent advancements in CRISPR/Cas9, still significant limitations in producing gene knock-outs are standing, including (i) unsatisfactory genome editing (GE) efficiency and (ii) uncontrolled DNA random insertion of antibiotic resistance markers. Thus, obtaining efficient gene targeting without using marker genes is instrumental in developing a pipeline for efficient engineering of strains for biotechnological applications. We developed an efficient DNA-free gene disruption strategy, relying on phenotypical identification of mutants, to (i) precisely determine its efficiency compared to marker-relying approaches and (ii) establish a new DNA-free editing tool. This study found that classical CRISPR Cas9-based GE for gene disruption in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is mainly limited by DNA integration. With respect to previous results achieved on synchronized cell populations, we succeeded in increasing the GE efficiency of single gene targeting by about 200 times and up to 270 times by applying phosphate starvation. Moreover, we determined the efficiency of multiplex simultaneous gene disruption by using an additional gene target whose knock-out did not lead to a visible phenotype, achieving a co-targeting efficiency of 22%. These results expand the toolset of GE techniques and, additionally, lead the way to future strategies to generate complex genotypes or to functionally investigate gene families. Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (Pi) are essential macronutrients that affect plant growth and development by influencing the molecular, metabolic, biochemical, and physiological responses at the local and whole levels in plants. N and Pi stresses suppress the physiological activities of plants, resulting in agricultural productivity losses and severely threatening food security. Accordingly, plants have elaborated diverse strategies to cope with N and Pi stresses through maintaining N and Pi homeostasis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) as potent regulators fine-tune N and Pi signaling transduction that are distinct and indivisible from each other. Specific signals, such as noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), interact with miRNAs and add to the complexity of regulation. Elucidation of the mechanisms by which miRNAs regulate N and Pi signaling transduction aids in the breeding of plants with strong tolerance to N and Pi stresses and high N and Pi use efficiency by fine-tuning MIR genes or miRNAs. However, to date, there has been no detailed and systematic introduction and comparison of the functions of miRNAs in N and Pi signaling transduction from the perspective of miRNAs and their applications. Here, we summarized and discussed current advances in the involvement of miRNAs in N and Pi signaling transduction and highlighted that fine-tuning the MIR genes or miRNAs involved in maintaining N and Pi homeostasis might provide valuable sights for sustainable agriculture. Background: Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo (D. officinale) is parasitic on rocks or plants with very few mineral elements that can be absorbed directly, so its growth and development are affected by nutritional deficiencies. Previous studies found that phosphorus deficiency promotes polysaccharides accumulation in D. officinale, the expression of DoCSLA6 (glucomannan synthase gene) was positively correlated with polysaccharide synthesis. However, the molecular mechanism by which the low phosphorus environment affects polysaccharide accumulation remains unclear. Results: We found that DoSPX1 can reduce phosphate accumulation in plants and promote the expression of PSIs genes, thereby enhancing plant tolerance to low phosphorus environments.Y1H and EMSA experimental show that DoMYB37 can bind the promoter of DoCSLA6. DoSPX1 interact with DoMYB37 transiently overexpressed DoSPX1 and DoMYB37 in D. officinale protocorm-like bodies, decreased the Pi content, while increased the expression of DoCSLA6. Conclusions: The signaling pathway of DoSPX1-DoMYB37-DoCSLA6 was revealed. Background: An aortoenteric fistula (AEF) is a rare and lethal complication of esophagectomy. Fistulas frequently result from problems regarding acute infections or leaks, which are typically evident weeks after the treatment. However, some cases exhibit AEF years after the initial operation. Here, we describe a rare case of AEF caused by chronic friction of the stapler toward the aortic arch, in which stent graft repair and surgery were successful. Case presentation: A 71-year-old man had undergone esophagectomy for esophageal carcinoma and reconstruction with a gastric conduit through the posterior mediastinal route 11 years previously. He visited our outpatient clinic with the chief complaint of hematemesis. However, after arrival, he experienced massive hematemesis and severe shock due to bleeding from an AEF. Endoscopic hemostasis using a Sengstaken-Blakemore tube followed by stent graft repair controlled the bleeding. We performed a partial resection of the gastric conduit, including the fistula, followed by digestive reconstruction using a jejunal interposition graft. The patient recovered gradually after receiving intensive care and was discharged 115 days after hospitalization. Conclusions: We present a rare case of bleeding due to AEF long after esophagectomy, which was successfully treated with endovascular stent graft repair and surgery. Phosphorus (P) is an important and irreplaceable macronutrient. It is central to energy and information storage and exchange in living cells. P is an element with a "broken geochemical cycle" since it lacks abundant volatile compounds capable of closing the P cycle. P fertilizers are critical for global food security, but the reserves of minable P are scarce and non-evenly distributed between countries of the world. Accordingly, the risks of global crisis due to limited access to P reserves are expected to be graver than those entailed by competition for fossil hydrocarbons. Paradoxically, despite the scarcity and value of P reserves, its usage is extremely inefficient: the current waste rate reaches 80% giving rise to a plethora of unwanted consequences such as eutrophication leading to harmful algal blooms. Microalgal biotechnology is a promising solution to tackle this challenge. The proposed review briefly presents the relevant aspects of microalgal P metabolism such as cell P reserve composition and turnover, and the regulation of P uptake kinetics for maximization of P uptake efficiency with a focus on novel knowledge. The multifaceted role of polyPhosphates, the largest cell depot for P, is discussed with emphasis on the P toxicity mediated by short-chain polyPhosphates. Opportunities and hurdles of P bioremoval via P uptake from waste streams with microalgal cultures, either suspended or immobilized, are discussed. Possible avenues of P-rich microalgal biomass such as biofertilizer production or extraction of valuable polyPhosphates and other bioproducts are considered. Main conclusion: SlGCC, a GARP transcription factor, functions as a root-related transcriptional repressor. SlGCC synchronizes auxin and ethylene signaling involving SlPIN3 and SlIAA3 as intermediate targets sketching a molecular map for lateral root development in tomato. The root system is crucial for growth and development of plants as it performs basic functions such as providing mechanical support, nutrients and water uptake, pathogen resistance and responds to various stresses. SlGCC, a GARP family transcription factor (TF), exhibited predominant expression in age-dependent (initial to mature stages) tomato root. SlGCC is a transcriptional repressor and is regulated at a transcriptional and translational level by auxin and ethylene. Auxin and ethylene mediated SlGCC protein stability is governed via proteasome degradation pathway during lateral root (LR) growth development. SlGCC over-expressor (OE) and under-expressed (UE) tomato transgenic lines demonstrate its role in LR development. The medicinal herb Artemisia annua L. is prized for its capacity to generate artemisinin, which is used to cure malaria. Potentially influencing the biomass and secondary metabolite synthesis of A. annua is plant nutrition, particularly phosphorus (P). However, most soil P exist as insoluble inorganic and organic phosphates, which results to low P availability limiting plant growth and development. Although plants have developed several adaptation strategies to low P levels, genetics and metabolic responses to P status remain largely unknown. In a controlled greenhouse experiment, the sparingly soluble P form, hydroxyapatite (Ca5OH(PO4)3/CaP) was used to simulate calcareous soils with low P availability. In contrast, the soluble P form KH2PO4/KP was used as a control. A. annua’s morphological traits, growth, and artemisinin concentration were determined, and RNA sequencing was used to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) under two different P forms. Total biomass, plant height, leaf number, and stem diameter, as well as leaf area, decreased by 64.83%, 27.49%, 30.47%, 38.70%, and 54.64% in CaP compared to KP; however, LC–MS tests showed an outstanding 37.97% rise in artemisinin content per unit biomass in CaP contrary to KP. Transcriptome analysis showed 2015 DEGs (1084 up-regulated and 931 down-regulated) between two P forms, including 39 transcription factor (TF) families. Further analysis showed that DEGs were mainly enriched in carbohydrate metabolism, secondary metabolites biosynthesis, enzyme catalytic activity, signal transduction, and so on, such as tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, glycolysis, starch and sucrose metabolism, flavonoid biosynthesis, P metabolism, and plant hormone signal transduction. Meanwhile, several artemisinin biosynthesis genes were up-regulated, including DXS, GPPS, GGPS, MVD, and ALDH, potentially increasing artemisinin accumulation. Furthermore, 21 TF families, including WRKY, MYB, bHLH, and ERF, were up-regulated in reaction to CaP, confirming their importance in P absorption, internal P cycling, and artemisinin biosynthesis regulation. Our results will enable us to comprehend how low P availability impacts the parallel transcriptional control of plant development, growth, and artemisinin production in A. annua. Enhancing plant productivity and mitigating the impact of environmental stressors require a thorough understanding of phytomonitoring and physiological features indicative of plant health. This study delves into the response of cucumber plants to phosphorus deficiency employing diverse tools to identify key indicators and unravel the underlying mechanisms. Under phosphorus deficiency, a rapid response in older leaves was observed through the analysis of chlorophyll and carotenoid content. Molecular-level changes in photosynthetic performance were found to be age-dependent, as revealed by multidimensional statistical methods, highlighting the interconnectedness of examined features with the experimental setup timing. In this paper, a discrete Boltzmann method (DBM) for plasma kinetics is proposed and further used to investigate the non-equilibrium characteristics in Orszag–Tang (OT) vortex and Richtmyer–Meshkov instability (RMI) problems. The construction of DBM mainly considers two aspects. The first is to build a physical model with sufficient capability to capture underlying physics. The second is to devise schemes for extracting more valuable information from massive data. For the first aspect, the generated model is equivalent to a magnetohydrodynamic model, and a coarse-grained model for extracting the most relevant thermodynamic non-equilibrium (TNE) behaviors including the entropy production rate. For the second aspect, the DBM uses non-conserved kinetic moments of (f − f e q ) to describe the non-equilibrium states and behaviors of complex systems. It is found that (i) for OT vortex, the entropy production rate and compression difficulty first increase and then decrease with time. (ii) For RMI with interface inversion and re-shock process, the influence of magnetic field on TNE effects shows stages: before the interface inversion, the TNE strength is enhanced by delaying the interface inversion; while after the interface inversion, the TNE strength is significantly reduced. Both the global average TNE strength and entropy production rate contributed by non-organized energy flux can be used as physical criteria to identify whether or not the magnetic field is sufficient to prevent the interface inversion. Multiphase Richtmyer–Meshkov instability (RMI) is often accompanied by a dispersed phase of particles, where the evolution of the mix zone width (MZW) is a significant issue. The Stokes number (S t) is a key dimensionless parameter for particle-containing multiphase flows because it represents the ability of particles to follow the fluid. However, our theoretical analysis and numerical simulation indicate that the Stokes number is not the only dominant parameter for the evolution of multiphase RMI. This study uses the derivation of particle and fluid momentum equations to demonstrate the inability of the Stokes number to predict MZW evolution, that is, even at the same Stokes number, increasing the particle density or the radius leads to completely different MZW evolution trends. This study proposes a novel dimensionless number, S d , to measure the effect of drag on the fluid owing to the particles. S d is the ratio of the relaxation time of the fluid velocity affected by the particle force to the characteristic time of the shock wave. We developed theoretical models of MZW at different S d values. Subsequently, a set of multiphase RMI numerical simulations on uniformly distributed particles with different S t and S d values was conducted. The numerical results verify the theoretical predictions and effectiveness of the proposed dimensionless number. The phase diagram containing different simulation cases demonstrates that the Stokes number cannot be used to predict MZW and must be combined with S d to determine its evolution. Little attention has been paid to neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in high-income countries and no literature provides an overview of NTDs in Japan. This scoping review aims to synthesize the latest evidence and information to understand epidemiology of and public health response to NTDs in Japan. Using three academic databases, we retrieved articles that mentioned NTDs in Japan, written in English or Japanese, and published between 2010 and 2020. Websites of key public health institutions and medical societies were also explored. From these sources of information, we extracted data that were relevant to answering our research questions. Our findings revealed the transmission of alveolar echinococcosis, Buruli ulcer, Chagas disease, dengue, foodborne trematodiases, mycetoma, scabies, and soil-transmitted helminthiasis as well as occurrence of snakebites within Japan. Other NTDs, such as chikungunya, cystic echinococcosis, cysticercosis, leishmaniasis, leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, rabies, and schistosomiasis, have been imported into the country. Government agencies tend to organize surveillance and control programs only for the NTDs targeted by the Infectious Disease Control Law, namely, echinococcosis, rabies, dengue, and chikungunya. At least one laboratory offers diagnostic testing for each NTD except for dracunculiasis, human African trypanosomiasis, onchocerciasis, and yaws. No medicine is approved for treatment of Chagas disease and fascioliasis and only off-label use drugs are available for cysticercosis, opisthorchiasis, human African trypanosomiasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis, and yaws. Based on these findings, we developed disease-specific recommendations. In addition, three policy issues are discussed, such as lack of legal frameworks to organize responses to some NTDs, overreliance on researchers to procure some NTD products, and unaffordability of unapproved NTD medicines. Japan should recognize the presence of NTDs within the country and need to address them as a national effort. The implications of our findings extend beyond Japan, emphasizing the need to study, recognize, and address NTDs even in high-income countries. Author summary: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are an umbrella term for 20 diseases and disease groups recognized by the World Health Organization. Although NTDs are usually considered to be a public health problem in low- and middle-income countries, people living in high-income countries could also be affected. In this scoping review, we aimed to summarize the latest evidence and information to understand the epidemiology of and public health response to NTDs in Japan. Japan officially reported a yearly average of 340 NTD cases between 2014 and 2017; however, we found that it does not accurately reflect the current status of NTDs in the country. Our review suggests that 15 of 20 NTDs can be considered to be important public health concerns. While echinococcosis, chikungunya, dengue, and rabies are under control by law, many other NTDs are largely neglected by Japan's health systems and solely addressed by a limited number of physicians and researchers. We recommend that the Government of Japan should assume responsibility for enhancing surveillance, expanding access to diagnostics and medicines, and ensuring affordability of unapproved NTD drugs. Phosphorus (P) is a macronutrient that plays a crucial role in critical plant functions. Phosphate transporters (PHTs) ensure the acquisition and translocation of Pi in the plant, thereby playing a key role in maintaining normal plant growth under Pi deficiency conditions. In Brachypodium distachyon, the grass model system, the function of individual PHT genes, remains largely unknown. Here, we identified the complete PHT gene family in B. distachyon, for the first time, and analyzed their expression profiles under Pi deficiency. Overall, 25 PHT genes in B. distachyon (BdPHTs) were identified, which were divided into four clades (PHT1-4). BdPHT genes were found to be unevenly distributed across the five chromosomes. Both segmental and tandem duplication events contributed to PHT gene expansion in B. distachyon which underwent a strong purifying selection. Moreover, exon-intron organization and motif composition were conserved within each PHT group consolidating the classification of the phylogenetic tree. Motif composition differs among the four PHT groups, indicating their functional divergence. Gene expression analysis using real-time quantitative PCR revealed that two BdPHT1 genes (BdPHT1.9 and BdPHT1.10) were upregulated in leaves, and seven (BdPHT1.9, BdPHT1.8, BdPHT1.7, BdPHT1.11, BdPHT1.12, BdPHT1.5, and BdPHT1.13) in roots under P deficiency suggesting their involvement in P uptake and translocation. The GARP transcription factors have been identified for multiple biological functions throughout the life cycle of a plant. Despite of its involvement in crucial functions, systematic study of GARPs remains obscure in plants. In this study, we explored the genomic, molecular, and evolutionary perspectives of the GARP gene family in the three major leguminous plants, namely chickpea (Cicer arietinum), soybean (Glycine max), and barrel clover (Medicago truncatula). Here, we identified 53, 56, and 107 GARP genes in Cicer, Medicago, and Glycine, respectively. They were classified into four clades and two sub-clades as per phylogenetic analysis, and the result was supported by consensus motifs, domain organization, and exon–intron structures. Detailed comparative analysis indicates conservation of the GARP gene family in plants. Identification of paralogous and orthologous gene pairs revealed that the expansion of this family occurs mainly through genome duplication in legumes. Additionally, the three-dimensional structure and functional enrichment analysis indicated their major role in signaling, growth, development, and stress processes. The chickpea GARP genes were also characterized for their transcript modulation in diverse plant organs and during pathogenic stress. Differential regulation of 24 CaGARP genes was observed during Ascochyta Blight (AB) stress. Characterization of AB-responsive genes reveals an over-representation of stress and hormone-binding elements on the promoter of CaGARPs. Additionally, interactome analysis also confirms the role of GARPs in plant stress and development. In the context of phosphorus (P) exhaustion and low P use efficiency (PUE) in crop production, a field trial was designed on a low-P soil in southwestern Germany in 2020 and 2021 to investigate the effects of P fertilizer type and liming on maize growth and P uptake and PUE. The experimental factors were (i) two P fertilizer types, rock phosphate (RP) and diammonium phosphate (DAP); (ii) lime application, lime and no lime; and (iii) two maize cultivars. The results showed that RP resulted in a lower leaf area index and light interception compared with DAP, a 33% lower silage yield, and a 29% lower P content at harvest. The PUE of RP was 18%, which was 37% lower than DAP. Soil liming reduced shoot biomass and led to 35% less shoot P content at the six-leaf stage. The maize cultivar Stabil expressed higher yielding and P acquisition characteristics. In conclusion, DAP cannot be replaced by placed RP, regardless of the lime application in silage maize production in this study. Cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor 1 (COA1), a mitochondrial respiratory chain complex assembly factor protein of inner mitochondrial membrane (IMM), is involved in translating many mitochondrial components and assembling nuclear-encoded components within mitochondria. Given the lack of extensive research on COA1 in cancer, this study undertakes a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of COA1, which is overexpressed across various cancer types, shedding light on its multifaceted role in tumorigenesis, prognosis, and tumor microenvironment (TME) modulation. Leveraging bioinformatics tools and public databases, we elucidated its potential as a diagnostic cancer biomarker as well as a target for novel anti-cancer therapeutics. Gene expression analysis using "TIMER2.0", "UALCAN" and "GEPIA2" platforms, supported by protein expression data, revealed a significant correlation between COA1 upregulation and poor prognosis in Kaplan-Meir analysis, underscoring its clinical relevance. Additionally, genetic mutation analysis of COA1 with the help of "cBioPortal" warrants further exploration into its functional significance. Moreover, our investigation of the tumor microenvironment unveiled the interplay of COA1 with fibroblast and T cell infiltration implicating the role of COA1 in the tumor immune microenvironment. Furthermore, COA1-related gene enrichment study in "GeneMANIA" and pathway cross-talk analysis with Gene Ontology (GO) gene sets established comprehensive clarifications about the molecular pathways and protein networks associated with COA1 deregulation. Low phosphorus (P) availability is a major problem for cotton production. However, little is known about cotton agronomic and physiological traits associated with low P tolerance. Therefore, the agronomic and physiological performance of three cotton genotypes with strong tolerance to low P (STGs) and three cotton genotypes with weak tolerance (WTGs) was characterized under low and normal P conditions in hydroponic and pot culture. The results showed that low P significantly reduced dry matter production, photosynthesis, and carbon metabolism in both STGs and WTGs; however, the reduction was more in WTGs. In contrast, low P improved root morphology, carbohydrate accumulation, and P metabolism, especially in STGs genotype Jimian169, whereas the opposite responses were observed for WTGs mainly DES926. The multivariate analysis suggested that root morphological traits, carbohydrate contents, and enzymes related to P metabolism were strong positively correlated and contributed more to the genotypic variation, suggesting the importance of root over shoot in low P tolerance. Moreover, plants grown under low P produced low yields than normal P, whereas WTGs yields were lower than the STGs yield. Overall, it was suggested that the low P tolerance of cotton genotypes is closely related to root morphology and physiology. In the future, the identified contrasting low P tolerant cotton genotypes Jimian169 and DES926 will be used to understand the molecular mechanisms of low P tolerance in cotton. Low phosphorus (P) is one of the limiting factors in sustainable cotton production. However, little is known about the performance of contrasting low P tolerant cotton genotypes that might be a possible option to grow in low P condition. In the current study, we characterized the response of two cotton genotypes, Jimian169 a strong low P tolerant, and DES926 a weak low P tolerant genotypes under low and normal P conditions. The results showed that low P greatly inhibited growth, dry matter production, photosynthesis, and enzymatic activities related to antioxidant system and carbohydrate metabolism and the inhibition was more in DES926 as compared to Jimian169. In contrast, low P improved root morphology, carbohydrate accumulation, and P metabolism, especially in Jimian169, whereas the opposite responses were observed for DES926. The strong low P tolerance in Jimian169 is linked with a better root system and enhanced P and carbohydrate metabolism, suggesting that Jimian169 is a model genotype for cotton breeding. Results thus indicate that the Jimian169, compared with DES926, tolerates low P by enhancing carbohydrate metabolism and by inducing the activity of several enzymes related to P metabolism. Bioluminescence is light emission based on the luciferin–luciferase enzymatic reaction in living organisms. Optical signals from bioluminescence (BL) reactions are available for bioanalysis and bioreporters for gene expression, in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo bioimaging, immunoassay, and other applications. Although there are numerous bioanalysis methods based on BL signal measurements, the BL signal is measured as a relative value, and not as an absolute value. Recently, some approaches have been established to completely quantify the BL signal, resulting in, for instance, the redetermination of the quantum yield of the BL reaction and counting the photon number of the BL signal at the single-cell level. The GARP genes are plant-specific transcription factors (TFs) and play key roles in regulating plant development and abiotic stress resistance. However, few systematic analyses of GARPs have been reported in allotetraploid rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) yet. In the present study, a total of 146 BnaGARP members were identified from the rapeseed genome based on the sequence signature. The BnaGARP TFs were divided into five subfamilies: ARR, GLK, NIGT1/HRS1/HHO, KAN, and PHL subfamilies, and the members within the same subfamilies shared similar exon-intron structures and conserved motif configuration. Analyses of the Ka/Ks ratios indicated that the GARP family principally underwent purifying selection. Several cis-acting regulatory elements, essential for plant growth and diverse biotic and abiotic stresses, were identified in the promoter regions of BnaGARPs. Further, 29 putative miRNAs were identified to be targeting BnaGARPs. Differential expression of BnaGARPs under low nitrate, ammonium toxicity, limited phosphate, deficient boron, salt stress, and cadmium toxicity conditions indicated their potential involvement in diverse nutrient stress responses. Notably, BnaA9.HHO1 and BnaA1.HHO5 were simultaneously transcriptionally responsive to these nutrient stresses in both hoots and roots, which indicated that BnaA9.HHO1 and BnaA1.HHO5 might play a core role in regulating rapeseed resistance to nutrient stresses. Therefore, this study would enrich our understanding of molecular characteristics of the rapeseed GARPs and will provide valuable candidate genes for further in-depth study of the GARP-mediated nutrient stress resistance in rapeseed. Microalgae constitute a highly diverse group of photosynthetic microorganisms that are widely distributed on Earth. The rich diversity of microalgae arose from endosymbiotic events that took place early in the evolution of eukaryotes and gave rise to multiple lineages including green algae, the ancestors of land plants. In addition to their fundamental role as the primary source of marine and freshwater food chains, microalgae are essential producers of oxygen on the planet and a major biotechnological target for sustainable biofuel production and CO2 mitigation. Microalgae integrate light and nutrient signals to regulate cell growth. Recent studies identified the target of rapamycin (TOR) kinase as a central regulator of cell growth and a nutrient sensor in microalgae. TOR promotes protein synthesis and regulates processes that are induced under nutrient stress such as autophagy and the accumulation of triacylglycerol and starch. A detailed analysis of representative genomes from the entire microalgal lineage revealed that the highly conserved central components of the TOR pathway are likely to have been present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor, and the loss of specific TOR signaling elements at an early stage in the evolution of microalgae. Phosphorus (P) plays an important role in soybean growth and reproduction. Wild soybean (Glycine soja) expressed higher tolerance to P-limited environment compared to cultivated soybeans (Glycine max). In this study, wild and cultivated soybean were used to compare the changes and differences in young and old leaves by ion contents and the kinds, number, and metabolic pathways of small molecule metabolites analysis under low P conditions. Our results showed that under low P conditions, Mg2+, Fe3+, and SO42− increased in young and old leaves of wild soybean; NO3− increased in young leaves of wild soybean and decreased in old leaves; H2PO4− was relatively stable in young leaves of wild soybean. And then, tricarboxylic acid (TCA) metabolism was enhanced and hexose-phosphate metabolism was inhibited in young and old leaves of wild soybean; aspartic acid family amino acids, glutamic acid family amino acids, serine family amino acids, aromatic amino acids metabolisms in young and old leaves of wild soybean were enhanced which contributed to the reuse of amino acids; disaccharides metabolism in young leaves of wild soybean was enhanced. Our experiment indicated that wild soybean could tolerate low P by promoting ion, disaccharides and amino acid metabolites accumulation and reuse in young and old leaves, and enhancing the energy metabolism in young and old leaves, and promoting the decomposition of hexose-phosphate in old leaves for reuse in young leaves. Key message: An efficient Agrobacterium-mediated transient expression method was developed, which contributed to the functional characterization of the transcription factor CqPHR1, and demonstrates the potential application of gene editing in quinoa. Chenopodium quinoa is a crop expected to ensure global food security in future due to its high resistance to multiple abiotic stresses and nutritional value. We cloned one of the paralogous genes of the Arabidopsis homolog PHR1 (PHOSPHATE STARVATION RESPONSE 1) in quinoa-inbred lines by reverse genetic approach. Overexpression of CqPHR1 driven by the constitutive CaMV 35S promoter in Arabidopsis phr1 mutant can complement its phenotypes, including the induction of phosphate starvation-induced (PSI) genes and anthocyanin accumulation in leaves. By Agrobacterium-mediated gene transient expression, we found that CqPHR1 localized in the nucleus of quinoa cells, and overexpression of CqPHR1 in quinoa cells promoted PSI genes expression, which further revealed the function of CqPHR1 as a transcription factor. We have also shown that the transient expression system can be used to express Cas9 protein in various quinoa-inbred lines and perform effective gene editing in quinoa tissue. The method developed in this study will be useful for verifying the effectiveness of gene-editing systems in quinoa cells and has potential application in the generation of gene-edited quinoa with heritable traits. In this paper, we present the effects of a radiative shock (RS) on the morphology of jet-like objects subjected to hydrodynamic instabilities. To this end, we used an experimental platform developed to create RSs on high energy laser facilities such as LULI2000 and GEKKO XII. Here, we employed modulated targets to initiate Richtmyer–Meshkov and Rayleigh–Taylor instability (RTI) growth in the presence of an RS. The RS is obtained by generating a strong shock in a dense pusher that expands into a low-density xenon gas. With our design, only a limited RTI growth occurs in the absence of radiative effects. A strongly radiative shock has opposite effects on RTI growth. While its deceleration enhances the instability growth, the produced radiations tend to stabilize the interfaces. Our indirect experimental observations suggest a lower instability growth despite the interface deceleration. Background: GARP transcription factors perform critical roles in plant development and response to environmental stimulus, especially in the phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) sensing and uptake. Spirodela polyrhiza (giant duckweed) is widely used for phytoremediation and biomass production due to its rapid growth and efficient N and P removal capacities. However, there has not yet been a comprehensive analysis of the GRAP gene family in S. polyrhiza. Results: We conducted a comprehensive study of GRAP superfamily genes in S. polyrhiza. First, we investigated 35 SpGARP genes which have been classified into three groups based on their gene structures, conserved motifs, and phylogenetic relationship. Then, we identified the duplication events, performed the synteny analysis, and calculated the Ka/Ks ratio in these SpGARP genes. The regulatory and co-expression networks of SpGARPs were further constructed using cis-acting element analysis and weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA). Finally, the expression pattern of SpGARP genes were analyzed using RNA-seq data and qRT-PCR, and several NIGT1 transcription factors were found to be involved in both N and P starvation responses. Conclusions: The study provides insight into the evolution and function of GARP superfamily in S. polyrhiza, and lays the foundation for the further functional verification of SpGARP genes. Soil available phosphorus (AP) deficiency and shortage of phosphate rocks limit cotton production in China. Therefore, pool-culture experiments were conducted in 2019 and 2020 using two cotton cultivars (CCRI-79, low-P tolerant; SCRC-28, low-P sensitive) under three soil AP levels (P0: 3 ± 0.5, P1: 6 ± 0.5, and P2 (control): 15 ± 0.5 mg kg−1) to ascertain the effect of soil AP on boll biomass and lint yield. P0 and P1 decreased the P concentration and net photosynthetic rate (Pn) of subtending leaves, thus, reducing boll biomass and lint yield. Additionally, soil AP deficiency decreased boll wall:boll, lint:boll, and lint:seed, and increased seed:boll ratio. Upper fruiting branch positions (FB9–12) had higher lint:seed ratio and proportion of the total lint yield under low soil AP. Moreover, soil AP deficiency also reduced the sucrose transformation rate (Tr) and activities of sucrose-metabolizing enzymes, such as ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase-oxygenase (Rubisco), sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS), and sucrose synthase (SuSy), while increased carbohydrate levels (soluble sugar, sucrose, and starch) and the activity of cytosolic fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (cy-FBPase) in the subtending leaves. The sucrose and starch contents, cy-FBPase, and SPS activities of SCRC-28 were more sensitive to low soil AP than CCRI-79. Background: Magnesium ion is one of the essential mineral elements for plant growth and development, which participates in a variety of physiological and biochemical processes. Since there is no report on the research of magnesium ion transporter in grape, the study of the structure and function of magnesium ion transporters (MGT) is helpful to understand the dynamic balance mechanism of intracellular magnesium ions and their inter- or intra-cellular activities. Result: In this study, we identified the members of MGT protein family in grape and performed the phylogenetic and expression analysis. We have identified nine VvMGT genes in grape genome, which are distributed on eight different chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that MGT family members of grapes were divided into five subfamilies and had obvious homology with Arabidopsis, maize, and pear. Based on transcriptome data from the web databases, we analyzed the expression patterns of VvMGTs at different development stages and in response to abiotic stresses including waterlogging, drought, salinity, and copper. Using qRT-PCR method, we tested the expression of grape VvMGTs under magnesium and aluminum treatments and found significant changes in VvMGTs expression. In addition, four of the MGT proteins in grape were located in the nucleus. Conclusion: Overall, in this study we investigated the structural characteristics, evolution pattern, and expression analysis of VvMGTs in depth, which laid the foundation for further revealing the function of VvMGT genes in grape. Phosphate (Pi) starvation response (PHR) transcription factors play key roles in plant Pi homeostasis maintenance. They are negatively regulated by stand-alone SPX proteins, cellular receptors for inositol pyrophosphate (PP-InsP) nutrient messengers. How PP-InsP-bound SPX interacts with PHRs is poorly understood. Here, we report crystal structures of the rice SPX2/InsP6/PHR2 complex and of the PHR2 DNA binding (MYB) domain in complex with target DNA at resolutions of 3.1 Å and 2.7 Å, respectively. In the SPX2/InsP6/PHR2 complex, the signalling-active SPX2 assembles into a domain-swapped dimer conformation and binds two copies of PHR2, targeting both its coiled-coil (CC) oligomerisation domain and MYB domain. Our results reveal that the SPX2 senses PP-InsPs to inactivate PHR2 by establishing severe steric clashes with the PHR2 MYB domain, preventing DNA binding, and by disrupting oligomerisation of the PHR2 CC domain, attenuating promoter binding. Our findings rationalize how PP-InsPs activate SPX receptor proteins to target PHR family transcription factors. SPX receptors regulate plant phosphate response via PHR transcription factors. Here, based on crystal structure analysis of rice PHR2 complexes, the authors propose that SPX2 regulates PHR2 by preventing DNA binding and oligomerisation of the PHR2 CC domain. SUMMARY: Plants cope with low phosphorus availability by adjusting growth and metabolism through transcriptomic and proteomic adaptations. We hypothesize that selected genotypes with distinct phosphorous (P) use efficiency covering the breeding history of European Flint heterotic pool provide a tool to reveal general and genotype‐specific molecular responses to P limitation. We reconstructed protein and gene co‐expression networks by weighted correlation network analysis and related these to phosphate deficiency‐induced traits. In roots, low phosphate supply resulted in a decreasing abundance of proteins in the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway and a negative correlation with root and shoot phosphate content. We observed an increase in abundance and positive correlation with root and shoot phosphate content for proteins in sucrose biosynthesis, lipid metabolism, respiration and RNA processing. Purple acid phosphatases, superoxide dismutase and phenylalanine ammonia lyase were identified as being upregulated under low phosphate in all genotypes. Overall, correlations between protein and mRNA abundance changes were limited, with ribosomal proteins and the ubiquitin protein degradation pathway exclusively responding with protein abundance changes. Carbohydrate, phospho‐ and sulfo‐lipid metabolism showed abundance changes at the protein and mRNA levels. These partially non‐overlapping proteomic and transcriptomic adjustments to low phosphate suggest sugar and lipid metabolism as metabolic processes associated with improved P use efficiency specifically in Founder Flint lines. We identified a mitogen‐activated protein kinase‐kinase as a potential genotype‐specific regulator of sucrose metabolism at low phosphate in Founder Flint line EP1. We conclude that, during breedingt of Elite Flint lines, regulation of primary metabolism has changed to result in a distinct low phosphate response in Founder lines. Background: Golden 2-Like (G2-like) transcription factors play an important role in plant development. However, the roles of these G2-like regulatory genes in response to abiotic stresses in tomato are not well understood. Results: In this study, we identified 66 putative G2-like genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and classified them into 5 groups (I to V) according to gene structure, motif composition and phylogenetic analysis. The G2-like genes were unevenly distributed across all 12 chromosomes. There were nine pairs of duplicated gene segments and four tandem duplicated SlGlk genes. Analysis of the cis-regulatory elements (CREs) showed that the promoter regions of SlGlks contain many kinds of stress- and hormone-related CREs. Based on RNA-seq, SlGlks were expressed in response to three abiotic stresses. Thirty-six differentially expressed SlGlks were identified; these genes have multiple functions according to Gene Ontology (GO) analysis and are enriched mainly in the zeatin biosynthesis pathway. Further studies exhibited that silencing SlGlk16 in tomato would reduce drought stress tolerance by earlier wilted, lower superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) activities, less Pro contents and more MDA contents. Conclusions: Overall, the results of this study provide comprehensive information on G2-like transcription factors and G2-like genes that may be expressed in response to abiotic stresses. Although life-history trade-offs are central to life-history evolution, their mechanistic basis is often unclear. Traditionally, trade-offs are understood in terms of competition for limited resources among traits within an organism, which could be mediated by signal transduction pathways at the level of cellular metabolism. Nevertheless, trade-offs are also thought to be produced as a consequence of the performance of one activity generating negative consequences for other traits, or the result of genes or pathways that simultaneously regulate two life-history traits in opposite directions (antagonistic pleiotropy), independent of resource allocation. Yet examples of genes with antagonistic effects on life-history traits are limited. This study provides direct evidence for a gene--RLS1, that is involved in increasing survival in nutrient-limiting environments at a cost to immediate reproduction in the single-celled photosynthetic alga, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Specifically, we show that RLS1 mutants are unable to properly suppress their reproduction in phosphate-deprived conditions. Although these mutants have an immediate reproductive advantage relative to the parental strain, their long-term survival is negatively affected. Our data suggest that RLS1 is a bona fide life-history trade-off gene that suppresses immediate reproduction and ensures survival by downregulating photosynthesis in limiting environments, as part of the general acclimation response to nutrient deprivation in photosynthetic organisms. Summary: Phosphorus (P) is an essential element for plant growth and development. Vacuoles play a fundamental role in the storage and remobilization of P in plants, while our understanding of the evolutionary mechanisms of creating and reusing P stores are limited. Besides, we also know very little about the coordination of intercellular P translocation, neither the inorganic phosphate (Pi) signaling nor the Pi transport patterns. Here we summarize recent advances in understanding the core elements involved in cellular and/or subcellular P homeostasis and signaling in unicellular green algae and multicellular land plants. Background: Mangroves plants, an important wetland system in the intertidal shores, play a vital role in estuarine ecosystems. However, there is a lack of a very effective method for extracting protein from mangrove plants for proteomic analysis. Here, we evaluated the efficiency of three different protein extraction methods for proteomic analysis of total proteins obtained from mangrove plant Kandelia obovata leaves. Results: The protein yield of the phenol-based (Phe-B) method (4.47 mg/g) was significantly higher than the yields of the traditional phenol (Phe) method (2.38 mg/g) and trichloroacetic acid-acetone (TCA-A) method (1.15 mg/g). The Phe-B method produced better two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) protein patterns with high reproducibility regarding the number, abundance and coverage of protein spots. The 2-DE gels showed that 847, 650 and 213 unique protein spots were separated from the total K. obovata leaf proteins extracted by the Phe-B, Phe and TCA-A methods, respectively. Fourteen pairs of protein spots were randomly selected from 2-DE gels of Phe- and Phe-B- extracted proteins for identification by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS) technique, and the results of three pairs were consistent. Further, oxygen evolving enhancer protein and elongation factor Tu could be observed in the 2-DE gels of Phe and Phe-B methods, but could only be detected in the results of the Phe-B methods, showing that Phe-B method might be the optimized choice for proteomic analysis. Conclusion: Our data provides an improved Phe-B method for protein extraction of K. obovata and other mangrove plant tissues which is rich in polysaccharides and polyphenols. Devices interfacing with the brain through implantation in cortical or subcortical structures have great potential for restoration and rehabilitation in patients with sensory or motor dysfunction. Typical implantation surgeries are planned based on maps of brain activity generated from intact function. However, mapping brain activity for planning implantation surgeries is challenging in the target population due to abnormal residual function and, increasingly often, existing MRI-incompatible implanted hardware. Here, we present methods and results for mapping impaired somatosensory and motor function in an individual with paralysis and an existing brain–computer interface (BCI) device. Magnetoencephalography (MEG) was used to directly map the neural activity evoked during transcutaneous electrical stimulation and attempted movement of the impaired hand. Evoked fields were found to align with the expected anatomy and somatotopic organization. This approach may be valuable for guiding implants in other applications, such as cortical stimulation for pain and to improve implant targeting to help reduce the craniotomy size. Phosphorus (P) assimilation and polyphosphate (polyP) synthesis were investigated in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii by supplying phosphate (PO43−; 10 mg P·L−1) to P‐depleted cultures of wildtypes, mutants with defects in genes involved in the vacuolar transporter chaperone (VTC) complex, and VTC‐complemented strains. Wildtype C. reinhardtii assimilated PO43− and stored polyP within minutes of adding PO43− to cultures that were P‐deprived, demonstrating that these cells were metabolically primed to assimilate and store PO43−. In contrast, vtc1 and vtc4 mutant lines assayed under the same conditions never accumulated polyP, and PO43− assimilation was considerably decreased in comparison with the wildtypes. In addition, to confirm the bioinformatics inferences and previous experimental work that the VTC complex of C. reinhardtii has a polyP polymerase function, these results evidence the influence of polyP synthesis on PO43− assimilation in C. reinhardtii. RNA‐sequencing was carried out on C. reinhardtii cells that were either P‐depleted (control) or supplied with PO43− following P depletion (treatment) in order to identify changes in the levels of mRNAs correlated with the P status of the cells. This analysis showed that the levels of VTC1 and VTC4 transcripts were strongly reduced at 5 and 24 h after the addition of PO43− to the cells, although polyP granules were continuously synthesized during this 24 h period. These results suggest that the VTC complex remains active for at least 24 h after supplying the cells with PO43−. The different cortical activity evoked by a mechanical tactile stimulus depends on tactile stimulus patterns, which demonstrates that simple stimuli (i.e., global synchronous stimulation the stimulus area) activate the primary somatosensory cortex alone, whereas complex stimuli (i.e., stimulation while moving in the stimulus area) activate not only the primary somatosensory cortex but also the primary motor area. Here, we investigated whether the effects of a repetitive mechanical tactile stimulation (MS) on somatosensory evoked magnetic fields (SEFs) and cortical oscillations depend on MS patterns. This single‐blinded study included 15 healthy participants. Two types interventions of MS lasting 20 min were used: a repetitive global tactile stimulation (RGS) was used to stimulate the finger by using 24 pins installed on a finger pad, whereas a sequential stepwise displacement tactile stimulation (SSDS) was used to stimulate the finger by moving a row of six pins between the left and right sides on the finger pad. Each parameter was measured pre‐ and post‐intervention. The P50m amplitude of the SEF was increased by RGS and decreased by SSDS. The modulation of P50m was correlated with its amplitude before RGS and with the modulation of beta band oscillation at the resting state after SSDS. This study showed that the effects of a 20‐min MS on SEFs and cortical oscillations depend on mechanical tactile stimulus patterns. Lack of blood flow to the brain, i.e., ischemic stroke, results in loss of nerve cells and therefore loss of function in the effected brain regions. There is no effective treatment to improve lost function except restoring blood flow within the first several hours. Rehabilitation strategies are widely used with limited success. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of electrical stimulation on the impaired upper extremity to improve functional recovery after stroke. We developed a rodent model using an electrode cuff implant onto a single peripheral nerve (median nerve) of the paretic forelimb and applied daily electrical stimulation. The skilled forelimb reaching test was used to evaluate functional outcome after stroke and electrical stimulation. Anterograde axonal tracing from layer V pyramidal neurons with biotinylated dextran amine was done to evaluate the formation of new neuronal connections from the contralesional cortex to the deafferented spinal cord. Rats receiving electrical stimulation on the median nerve showed significant improvement in the skilled forelimb reaching test in comparison with stroke only and stroke with sham stimulation. Rats that received electrical stimulation also exhibited significant improvement in the latency to initiate adhesive removal from the impaired forelimb, indicating better sensory recovery. Furthermore, axonal tracing analysis showed a significant higher midline fiber crossing index in the cervical spinal cord of rats receiving electrical stimulation. Our results indicate that direct peripheral nerve stimulation leads to improved sensorimotor recovery in the stroke-impaired forelimb, and may be a useful approach to improve post-stroke deficits in human patients. In this study, biochemical responses and leaf gas exchange characteristics of fig (Ficus carica L.) to water stress, short-term elevated CO2 levels and brassinolide application were evaluated. The ‘Improved Brown Turkey’ cultivar of fig was propagated from mature two- to three-year-old plants using cuttings, and transferred into a substrate containing 3:2:1 mixed soil (top soil: organic matters: sand). The experiment was arranged as a nested design with eight replications. To assess changes in leaf gas exchange and biochemical responses, these plants were subjected to two levels of water stress (well-watered and drought-stressed) and grown under ambient CO2 and 800 ppm CO2. Water deficits led to effects on photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, vapour pressure deficit, water use efficiency (WUE), intercellular CO2, and intrinsic WUE, though often with effects only at ambient or elevated CO2. Some changes in content of chlorophyll, proline, starch, protein, malondialdehyde, soluble sugars, and activities of peroxidase and catalase were also noted but were dependent on CO2 level. Overall, fewer differences between well-watered and drought-stressed plants were evident at elevated CO2 than at ambient CO2. Under drought stress, elevated CO2 may have boosted physiological and metabolic activities through improved protein synthesis enabling maintenance of tissue water potential and activities of antioxidant enzymes, which reduced lipid peroxidation. In plants, iron (Fe) transport and homeostasis are highly regulated processes. Fe deficiency or excess dramatically limits plant and algal productivity. Interestingly, complex and unexpected interconnections between Fe and various macro- and micronutrient homeostatic networks, supposedly maintaining general ionic equilibrium and balanced nutrition, are currently being uncovered. Although these interactions have profound consequences for our understanding of Fe homeostasis and its regulation, their molecular bases and biological significance remain poorly understood. Here, we review recent knowledge gained on how Fe interacts with micronutrient (e.g. zinc, manganese) and macronutrient (e.g. sulfur, phosphate) homeostasis, and on how these interactions affect Fe uptake and trafficking. Finally, we highlight the importance of developing an improved model of how Fe signaling pathways are integrated into functional networks to control plant growth and development in response to fluctuating environments. Phosphorus is an essential nutrient taken up by organisms in the form of inorganic phosphate (Pi). Eukaryotes have evolved sophisticated Pi sensing and signaling cascades, enabling them to stably maintain cellular Pi concentrations. Pi homeostasis is regulated by inositol pyrophosphate signaling molecules (PP-InsPs), which are sensed by SPX domain-containing proteins. In plants, PP-InsP-bound SPX receptors inactivate Myb coiled-coil (MYB-CC) Pi starvation response transcription factors (PHRs) by an unknown mechanism. Here we report that a InsP8–SPX complex targets the plant-unique CC domain of PHRs. Crystal structures of the CC domain reveal an unusual four-stranded anti-parallel arrangement. Interface mutations in the CC domain yield monomeric PHR1, which is no longer able to bind DNA with high affinity. Mutation of conserved basic residues located at the surface of the CC domain disrupt interaction with the SPX receptor in vitro and in planta, resulting in constitutive Pi starvation responses. Together, our findings suggest that InsP8 regulates plant Pi homeostasis by controlling the oligomeric state and hence the promoter binding capability of PHRs via their SPX receptors. Plants regulate phosphate homeostasis via the interaction of PHR transcription factors with SPX receptors bound to inositol pyrophosphate signaling molecules. The members of myeloblastosis transcription factor (MYB TF) family are involved in the regulation of biotic and abiotic stresses in plants. However, the role of MYB TF in phosphorus remobilization remains largely unexplored. In the present study, we show that an R2R3 type MYB transcription factor, MYB103, is involved in phosphorus (P) remobilization. MYB103 was remarkably induced by P deficiency in cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.). As cabbage lacks the proper mutant for elucidating the mechanism of MYB103 in P deficiency, another member of the crucifer family, Arabidopsis thaliana was chosen for further study. The transcript of its homologue AtMYB103 was also elevated in response to P deficiency in A. thaliana, while disruption of AtMYB103 (myb103) exhibited increased sensitivity to P deficiency, accompanied with decreased tissue biomass and soluble P concentration. Furthermore, AtMYB103 was involved in the P reutilization from cell wall, as less P was released from the cell wall in myb103 than in wildtype, coinciding with the reduction of ethylene production. Phosphorus (P) is an essential nutrient for plant growth and development. Phosphate transporters (PHTs) are trans -membrane proteins that mediate the uptake and translocation of phosphate (Pi) in green plants. The PHT family including PHT1, PHT2, PHT3 and PHT4 subfamilies are well-studied in land plants; however, PHT genes in green algae are poorly documented and not comprehensively identified. Here, we analyzed the PHTs in a model green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and found 25 putative PHT genes, which can be divided into four subfamilies. The subfamilies of CrPTA, CrPTB, CrPHT3, and CrPHT4 contain four, eleven, one, and nine genes, respectively. The structure, chromosomal distribution, subcellular localization, duplication, phylogenies, and motifs of these genes were systematically analyzed in silico. Expression profile analysis showed that CrPHT genes displayed differential expression patterns under P starvation condition. The expression levels of CrPTA1 and CrPTA3 were down-regulated, while the expression of most CrPTB genes was up-regulated under P starvation, which may be controlled by CrPSR1. The transcript abundance of most CrPHT3 and CrPHT4 genes was not significantly affected by P starvation except CrPHT4-3 , CrPHT4-4 , and CrPHT4-6.
