In this paper, our purpose is to study the classical continuous boundary optimal triple control vector problem (CCBOTCVP) dominating by nonlinear triple parabolic boundary value problem (NLTPBVP). Under suitable assumptions and with given classical continuous boundary triple control vector (CCBTCV), the existence theorem for a unique state triple vector solution (STVS) of the weak form W.F for the NLTPBVP is stated and demonstrated via the Method of Galerkin (MGa), and the first compactness theorem. Furthermore, the continuity operator between the STVS of the WFO for the NLTPBVP and the corresponding CCBTCV is stated and demonstrated. The continuity of the Lipschitz (LIP.) operator between the STVS of the WFo for the QNLPBVP and the corresponding CCBTCV is proved. The existence of a CCBOTCV is stated and demonstrated under suitable conditions.

The study was conducted to estimate the mean performance, genetic parameters along with traits association and path coefficients from data collected on 48 Transplanted Aman (T. Aman) rice landraces. In mean performance, Manik Digha, Goirol, Jesso Balam, Dal Katra, Chinri Gushi, Indrasail, Sunadiga, Bad Kalamkati, Raj Mondal and Blue Stick were found as elite landraces. High heritability along with genetic advance (GA) and genetic advance in per cent of mean (GAMP) was observed for basal leaf width, plant height, culm length, filled grain/panicle, unfilled grain/panicle, days to flowering, days to maturity, test weight, grain length, grain breadth, decorticated grain length breadth ratio and yield showed high genetic advance that helped in effective and reliable selection through these characters for crop improvement. A positive and significant association was found for filled grain per panicle, days to flowering, days to maturity, grain length and decorticated grain length breadth ratio with yield/hill at both genotypic and phenotypic levels. Though days to maturity and decorticated grain length breadth ratio have a negative direct effect on yield but made the total association positive and significant. A study was undertaken during 2008-2009, 2009-2010 and 2010-11 cropping seasons to isolate the variability(s) of Streptomyces spp. from lesion of common scab affected potato tubers in the Northern parts of Bangladesh (Rangpur division). There were twelve different pathogenic species isolated, which were different for colony colour, spore colour, spore ornamentation, spore chain morphology, other physiological characteristics (temperature, pH, melanin production, colour secret in oatmeal broth medium, carbon utilization and growth response in NaCl solution) and pathogenic reaction. Overall all collected isolates grow well within temperature range of 25°C to 30°C. In the present investigation, it was observed that isolates S2 and S11 could grow at pH 4.50. It was found that the growth of isolates increased as the pH value of medium increased. Considering all the characteristics of different isolates, isolate S5 agreed with the description of S. scabies having smooth, grey spores borne in spiral chains, producing melanin and utilizing eight recommended ISP diagnostic sugars with raffinose as a sole source of carbon. Rest eleven isolates could not identify.

Nowadays, overproduction of secondary metabolites in remedial herbs through giving biotic/abiotic stresses is an interesting area of research. In the current study, the influences of various concentrations of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) were evaluated on several morphological and physio-biochemical traits, such as the steviol glycosides level in Stevia. The findings showed that the herbs incubated with 400-ppm Ag NPs own the highest dry and fresh weight of shoot, while those incubated with 80- up to 200- ppm Ag NPs own the highest steviol glycosides content. As a result, we successfully improve the content of stevioside glycoside up to 1.75-fold by applying the 80- up to 200-ppm Ag NPs in Stevia medicinal plant. Moreover, our findings revealed that low concentrations the Ag NPs lead to an increase of glutathione content and total antioxidant capacity, and a decrease of MDA, whereas treatments at higher concentrations induced adverse effects for the plant. As a result, the treatment with Ag NPs low concentrations had a favorable efficacy on physio-biochemical and morphological characteristics of Stevia. These achievements are very promising, because they revealed a considerable capability for the Ag NPs application in enhancing the secondary metabolites in Stevia remedial herb. The present study is the first case assessing the desirable influences of Ag NPs on the Stevia, in regard with shifting of biosynthetic pathway of steviol glycosides in a concentration-dependent manner.

Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) is one of the vital grain legume crops that originated from L. culinaris Medik.ssp. orientalisin the Near East. It is an essential food source that is capable of contributing energy, proteins and iron to human diet. Major concern of lentil producing countries is to have a stable high seed yield in addition to resistance against abiotic and biotic stresses. The activities of domestication and selection in the course of crop evolution have led to reduction in genetic variation in the current cultivars and species, which is a major drawback for lentil breeding. The improvement of many monogenic traits has been carried out by conventional breeding techniques like selection and recombination. However, these improvements still lack in addressing economic traits like yield as they are governed by polygenes and G x E interaction. Various species in the genus Lens can aid to enhancement of genetic variation for target lentil traits to develop new varieties. Induced mutagenesis is another vital breeding method which can ease the availability of lentil genomic resources. Commendable success stories in applications of molecular markers and biotechnological techniques will further speed-up the development of improved varieties. This review article majourly dealt on present status on genetic improvement in lentil and a compendium of important aspects of lentil diversity, genetics and breeding with the way forward.

Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) R. Wilczek) is a short duration farmer preferred warm-season pulse crop. The crop has shown a balanced growth worldwide, especially in developing countries. Mungbean being a great source of protein with higher folate and iron levels attracts high demand and price on the market making the farmers happy and satisfied. Moreover, it can fix atmospheric nitrogen through symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, making it perfect for rice based cropping systems and intercropping with other crops. Despite having so many benefits, mungbean has been a neglected crop compared to other pulses with limited efforts aiming at its breeding and development. Higher productivity, breeding for biotic and abiotic stresses resistance and nutritional quality improvement are future challenges for mungbean breeders. Several researchers are working in the direction of collecting and maintaining mungbean genetic resources. Mutation breeding and genetic engineering has also been enhanced in mungbean varietal improvement. Genomic information is limited compared to other legume species. However, the recent successful sequencing of mungbean genome has opened new vistas into the crop’s R&D. It is a self-pollinated pulse with small genome size, which could be used as a model for studying other legumes. Mungbean breeders at present times aim to identify useful alleles from diverse germplasm and markers closely associated with desirable traits. The high-throughput marker genotyping system has now made it feasible to pinpoint the exact gene locations and mutations contributing target phenotypes. In this review we present the current status of conventional and molecular breeding of the crop and summary of efforts in the utilization of genetic information and genomic resources for further mungbean improvement.

Models of digital elevation (DEMs), which provide elevation information for the ground surface of the catchment, are core components of computer-based analyzes for drainage basins. Many production methods are available, including contour interpolation, DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) interpolation, and digital photogrammetry techniques. However, data on the precision and often contradictory nature of these three techniques are sparse. This study aims at identifying some of the contributing factors and comparing the accuracy of various approaches quantitatively. Changes in land coverage break ecosystem cycles, which may directly affect land ability to sustain human activity resulting in long-term trends of decline and inter-annual variability. It can be monitored at a spatial level of detail to enable the study of human-induced changes. Remote sensing techniques (RS) and geographical information system (GIS) methods have been used to extract the spatial and temporal changes of urban land use in the city of Al-Kut. The land sat satellite images taken in periods encompassing 1997, 2007, and 2017 are used. As a result, the city has lost a large part of its urban specificity and gained randomness and disorder in most of its residential neighborhoods, which was especially exacerbated after the change in the governing system in 2003. The results show an increase of 314% and 219% in industrial and residential areas, respectively, whereas agricultural land and open spaces have decreased by 66 % and 32%. The data analysis reveals a diagnostic relationship between land-use conversion and socio-economic drivers. This research sheds light on the total area changes of the Al-Kut city before and after 2003. It highlights the significant destruction of the city life, which was established over almost three centuries.

Here we demonstrate a method for performing X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) on airborne aerosols. XAS provides unique insight into elemental composition, chemical and phase state, local coordination and electronic structure of both crystalline and amorphous matter. The aerosol is generated from different salt solutions using a commercial atomizer and dried using a diffusion drier. Embedded in a carrier gas, the aerosol is guided into the experimental chamber for XAS analysis. Typical particle sizes range from some 10 to a few 100 nm. Inside the chamber the aerosol bearing gas is then confined into a region of about 1-2 cm

The goal of this work is to characterize preservation technique for deteriorating items in order to lessen the rate of deterioration. This study looks at a degrading inventory model with time-dependent demand that is a quadratic function of time. The rate of degradation in this model is determined by deterministic deterioration, which is a quadratic function of time. The main objective is to determine the effect of preservation technology for deteriorating items where the demand function is time variable and analyze the significance of preservation technology. The major goal of this article is to look at the inventory model's minimum cost per unit time. With the help of a numerical example, the results are validated. The ideal solution is subjected to a sensitivity analysis with regard to several parameters. Finally, a graph depicts the behavior of the relationship between parameters and total inventory cost.

By analyzing 4.48 × 108 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, we observe the decays χ cJ → nK S 0 Λ ¯ $$ {nK}_S^0\overline{\Lambda} $$ + c.c. (J = 0, 1, 2) for the first time, via the radiative transition ψ(3686) → γχ cJ . The branching fractions are determined to be (6.65 ± 0.26stat ± 0.41syst) × 10 −4, (1.66 ± 0.12stat ± 0.12syst) × 10 −4, and (3.58 ± 0.16stat ± 0.23syst) × 10 −4 for J = 0, 1, and 2, respectively.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is treated with anti-CD 20 and multi-drug chemotherapy for cure. Positron emission tomography (PET) scans are performed at end of treatment (EOT) to assess response. EOT Deauville scores (DS) are equivocal for treatment response in some situations, requiring physicians to determine the need for further investigations or treatment. Studies have suggested the delta maximum standardised uptake value (ΔSUVmax) to be superior to DS for assessment of metabolic response at interim PET, although its use at EOT PET, especially in cases of equivocal response, has yet to be established. We investigated whether ΔSUVmax could better discriminate prognosis than DS 3 or 4 at EOT. ΔSUVmax did not outperform DS. Combination of DS 3 and International Prognostic Index (IPI)

A memristor‐transistor hybrid ternary content addressable memory (MTCAM) with a memristor‐based ternary memory cell is proposed. New emerging devices like memristors have recently been explored to overcome the limitations of CMOS‐based memory circuits. The memristor is used as a binary memory cell in these MTCAM designs to replace a CMOS‐based memory cell. This proposed design used a memristor as a ternary memory cell by exploiting its variable resistance characteristics. The associated wiring is reduced almost by a factor of 2 as a ternary cell is used instead of two binary cells. Area efficiency is further enhanced as the MTCAM cell is comprised of two transistors and two memristors (2T2M). A segmentation technique of match line along with a robust write/search operation method is presented to enhance the search speed of the proposed MTCAM. Simulation based on a mathematical model of memristor is presented and analysed using 65 nm TSMC MOS model parameters. Corner simulations and Monte Carlo simulations are carried out to substantiate the robustness of the design against process variation. Simulation results show the worst search delay of 0.75 ns and the energy/bit/search of 0.866 fJ for the 128 × 128 bit MTCAM.

Bangladesh needs an average rough rice yield of 9.11 t ha-1 by 2050 which can not be achieved equally across all the geographic regions since the country has various ‘rice types’ with varying yield potentials. This paper focuses on strategic innovations for reaching the yield target by refining rice types. Based on rice ecosystems and the pressing needs, we divided rice areas of Bangladesh in 17 different types. We estimated year-wise land areas and allocated achievable yield targets for each of the rice types. Finally, we compared the target yields and the yields of top-yielding rice varieties in Bangladesh by 2020 across the rice types to understand the current status of our varietal improvement programmes. We sorted out how much improvement is needed in each rice types. Among the rice types, cold-tolerant (Northern and Western) was sorted out as the most potential area of rice yield improvement where rice varieties will be released having a yield advantage of 4.04 t ha-1 by 2050. The chronology of next priority areas for high yielding variety development and their target yield advantages in t ha-1 are saline Boro (4.03), Favourable Boro (long duration) (4), cold-tolerant (Haor) (3.83), tidal submergence (3.8), Healthier rice (Boro) (3.58), Favourable Boro (short duration) (3.33), Healthier rice (Aman) (3.3), Favourable Aman (3.23), Flash flood (3.09), upland rice (2.89), Saline Aman (2.8), Healthier rice (Aus) (2.53), Premium quality rice (2.53), drought (2.38), T. Aus (2.05) and deepwater. Combined genetic interventions like population improvement through cyclic breeding, genomic selection, marker-assisted selection, genome editing, genetic transformation, germplasm utilization through genome-wide association study and phenomics, and development of super hybrid rice are being used in the country to attain yield target for different rice types. Built on deep-rooted political and cultural heritage, ‘rice security’ is the foundation of ‘food security’ in Bangladesh. The country has been in production-surplus of rice in the current decade feeding over 165 million people. This on-going ‘selfsufficiency momentum’ would require to maintain to meet increased demand from growing future population. On developmental side, Bangladesh is placed among the three of the world’s fastest growing economies in the years through to 2050. Rice sector would need to match with the pace of this growth. In addition, agriculture sector, that includes rice, is to double the productivity as the government commits to meet the SDG goal 2.3.1. This study addresses those issues through scoping increased rice production and productivity in Bangladesh, developing a plan of work (POW) on translating the scope and designing implementation plans and actions, incorporating efficiency, resilience, stability and sustainability issues, to achieve the POW. The study has used brainstorming, and rigorous analysis to achieve the objectives. The productivity has been explained in terms of yield- and labour-productivity. The developed three-winged ‘doubling rice productivity (DRP)’ framework directs yield enhancement and production accumulation in unexplored spaces (Wing-1); increased adoption of mechanization to impact on labour productivity (Wing-2), and improvements in nutritional quality and rice-based product diversity, and stabilizing the farmgate price (Wing-3). Analyses show, from the baseline figure of 35.29 MT in 2015, rice production in the country can be raised to 46.90 MT in 2030, 54.09 MT in 2040 and 60.85 MT in 2050 with combined contributions of three pillars – yield improvements by enhanced varietal potential (Pillar 1), reduction in existing yield gap (Pillar 2) and production increase by exploring unexplored spaces for rice (Pillar 3) of Wing-1 of the DRP. This production will produce a surplus of 6.50, 10.29 and 13.65 MT in 2030, 2040 and 2050, respectively, over the production target (40.40, 43.80 and 47.20 MT in 2030 and 2050, respectively). Results further reveal that through scale-appropriate mechanization backed up by estimated fair price, labour productivity in rice will be doubled by 2029, meeting the SDG 2.3.1. Good number of released varieties have been identified to have specific nutritional trait, and value adding quality. We have emphasized on much needed actions on demand-driven research for varietal development and field-adoptable management, mechanization for transplanting and harvesting operations, accommodation of rice in unexplored spaces, farmer-based speedy seed multiplication and dissemination system, establishment of commission for agricultural costs and prices, input buffer stock terminals for managing production risk, long-term storage and export of surplus production, and research-publicity-market development for rice-based products through public-private partnership. It is concluded that efficiency, resilience and sustainability around the three wings of DRP in the rice production systems to be ensured to achieve the rice production, productivity and labour use estimates. A study was undertaken to determine the contents of trace metals in 60 topsoils and 80 brinjal fruits samples from a famous brinjal-producing area of Bangladesh using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The study also looked at soil pollution levels, dietary intake of nutritionally important trace elements, and human health risks from toxic metals induced by dermal soil exposure and consumption of brinjal. The content of Pb, Ni, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn in brinjal fruits harvested from farmer′s fields ranged from 0.204–0.729, 0.031–0.212, -1, respectively, while the amount of Cr was negligible. The calculated enrichment factors showed that 70, 50, and 25% of soil sampling sites had values in the 2.00–5.00 range for Pb, Zn, and Cd, respectively, while 30% of sites had values > 5.00 for Cd, indicating moderate to significant enrichment of these metals in the soil. The study also revealed that brinjal consumption provides a tiny amount of nutritionally important trace elements required for an adult human. Regarding the computed incremental lifetime cancer risks (ILCR), the study revealed that the values for Pb and Ni in all samples and Cd in 40% of samples were several hundred times higher for males and females than the USEPA threshold level due to oral ingestion of brinjal fruits. In contrast, dermal exposures to soil trace elements were within an acceptable range. The PCA results revealed that the contents of Cd, Pb, Ni, and Cu in soils showed strong positive correlations with those elements present in brinjal. The current study suggests future traceability research, focusing on pinpointing potential entry routes for toxic elements into the vegetable food chain.

Disease risk associated with contaminated water, poor sanitation, and hygiene in informal settlement environments is conceptually well understood. From an analytical perspective, collecting data at a suitably fine scale spatial and temporal granularity is challenging. Novel mobile methodologies, such as spatial video (SV), can complement more traditional epidemiological field work to address this gap. However, this work then poses additional challenges in terms of analytical visualizations that can be used to both understand sub-neighborhood patterns of risk, and even provide an early warning system. In this paper, we use bespoke spatial programming to create a framework for flexible, fine-scale exploratory investigations of simultaneously-collected water quality and environmental surveys in three different informal settlements of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. We dynamically mine these spatio-temporal epidemiological and environmental data to provide insights not easily achievable using more traditional spatial software, such as Geographic Information System (GIS). The results include sub-neighborhood maps of localized risk that vary monthly. Most interestingly, some of these epidemiological variations might have previously been erroneously explained because of proximate environmental factors and/or meteorological conditions.

Hospital wastewaters are produced in large volumes in Pakistan (∼362–745 L/bed.day) and are discharged without proper treatment. They are widely used by farmers for crop irrigation and induce a phytotoxic effect on plant growth. The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of untreated and treated hospital wastewater on seed germination of a fodder crop Trifolium alexandrinum (Berseem clover) and a food crop Solanum lycopersicum (tomato). A bacterial consortium was formed with three bacterial strains, i.e., Alcaligenes faecalis and Bacillus paramycoides spp., which were individually proven efficient in previous studies. The concentrations of untreated and treated hospital wastewater (25, 50, 75 and 100%) were used to irrigate these crop seeds. To assess the efficiency of treatment, the germination percentage, delay index, germination index, stress tolerance indices, seedling vigour index and phytotoxicity index were calculated and were statistically proven significant. The seeds grown in treated wastewater concentrations showed negative values of phytotoxicity indices (tomato: −0.36, −0.47, −0.78 and −1.11; Berseem clover: −0.23) which indicate a stimulatory or non-toxic effect on seedling growth. Our work proposes that this bacterial consortium is efficient for hospital wastewater treatment before crop irrigation. Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are an indispensable component of the tumor microenvironment (TME). Along with the role of MDSC immunosuppression and antitumor immunity, MDSCs facilitate tumor growth, differentiation, and metastasis in several ways that are yet to be explored. Like any other cell type, MDSCs also release a tremendous number of exosomes, or nanovesicles of endosomal origin, that participate in intercellular communications by dispatching biological macromolecules. There have been no investigational studies conducted to characterize the role of MDSC-derived exosomes (MDSC exo) in modulating the TME. In this study, we isolated MDSC exo and demonstrated that they carry a significant level of proteins that play an indispensable role in tumor growth, invasion, angiogenesis, and immunomodulation. We observed a higher yield and more substantial immunosuppressive potential of exosomes isolated from MDSCs in the primary tumor area than those in the spleen or bone marrow. Our in vitro data suggest that MDSC exo are capable of hyper-activating or exhausting CD8 T-cells and induce reactive oxygen species production that elicits activation-induced cell death. We confirmed the depletion of CD8 T-cells in vivo by treating mice with MDSC exo. We also observed a reduction in pro-inflammatory M1-macrophages in the spleen of those animals. Our results indicate that the immunosuppressive and tumor-promoting functions of MDSCs are also implemented by MDSC-derived exosomes which would open up a new avenue of MDSC research and MDSC-targeted therapy.

This study was carried out at different villages of Palash Upazila under the Narsingdi district in Bangladesh to envisage the storage system of straw, feeding system, genotype distribution, productive and reproductive performances of dairy cows. Hence, a total of 100 small-scale dairy farm owners were randomly selected and interviewed with a pre-tested structured questionnaire. Overall, 40% of farmers were raised indigenous cows in the studied villages, while 60% were reared Holstein crossbred cows. Around 75 and 25% farmers were collected green grass from the arable and non-arable lands, respectively. Results revealed that 11.43% farmers from each village of Balucharpara, Kandapara, Gazaria, Sultanpur, and Malita were stored straw as a stack on the field, and the lowest percentage (4.29%) farmers of Sanerbari village were followed this system of storage. About 14.81% farmers of each Paiksha and Sanerbari villages were stored straw inside their houses. Calving interval (P=0.04) of indigenous cows and milk yield (P=0.05) of Holstein crossbred cows were both differed significantly among the studied villages. Overall, both indigenous and Holstein crossbred cows performances were observed better in Balucharpara village than that of other villages. However, farmers should be motivated and given training on fodder cultivation, feed processing, and preservation to accelerate the sustainable production and reproduction of cows.

Farmers near towns and cities are using a wide range of highly polluted wastewaters for crop irrigation in Pakistan due to severe freshwater shortage. The present study aimed to promote indigenous bacterial strains isolated from domestic, hospital, textile, pharmaceutical and mixed wastewaters to remove contaminants and colour and render these wastewaters safer for irrigation. Thirty seven bacterial strains were isolated from five wastewater samples collected from different sites in Lahore, Pakistan. Under optimal growth conditions, three isolates (D6, D7 and P1) showed >93% decolourisation potential in the treatment of hospital wastewater. 16S rDNA sequencing identified two of these isolates (D6 and D7) as showing 100% and 99.86% homology to Bacillus paramycoides spp. - novel strains from B. cereus group. Isolate P1 showed 97.47% homology to Alcaligenes faecalis. GCMS analysis of the untreated hospital wastewater revealed the presence of pharmaceutic pollutants, i.e. Phenol (876 µg/L), Salicylic acid (48 µg/L), Caffeine (7 µg/L), Naproxen (23 µg/L), Octadecene (185 µg/L) and Diazepam (14 µg/L). The analysis of treated hospital wastewaters showed percentage degradation of pharmaceutic pollutants (100%-43%) and significant reduction in the BOD5 (91%-68%), COD (89%-52%) and heavy metals concentrations. These strains therefore can represent a low-cost and low-tech alternative to bioremediate complex matrices of hospital wastewater prior to crop irrigation to support the achievement of clean re-usable water in developing countries like Pakistan.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation not only increases the growth but also improves the quality of many commercial plants. Tea (Camellia sinensis) plants were grown on different growth medium (with and without AMF inoculation) and the chemical properties of the leaves were assayed and compared. The growth media were sterilized soil with AMF, sterilized soil, natural soil inoculated with AMF, natural soil, and natural soil in natural condition with AMF. The highest root colonization (23 %) was found in tea plants grown on natural soil with AMF, whereas no colonization was found in the sterilized soil treatment. The highest level of leaf chlorophyll-a (2.74±0.06 μg.mL-1), chlorophyll-b (1.77±0.03 μg.mL-1) and carotenoid (0.35±0.01 μg.mL-1) contents were found in tea plants grown on natural soil under natural condition with AMF. The highest polyphenol concentration (64.46 mg.L-1) was found in natural soil inoculated with AMF whereas the lowest (38.09 mg.L-1) was recorded in sterilized soil. The highest contents of tannin (30.34 mg.mL-1) and reducing sugar (46.61 mg.L-1) were recorded in plants grown on natural soil under natural condition with AMF and the lowest values (21.22 mg.mL-1, 33.16 mg.L-1, respectively) in sterilized soil treatment. Though antioxidant properties (% scavenging effect) did not differed due to treatments, the highest IAA (Indole-3-acetic acid) concentration (3.16 μg.mL-1) was recorded in tea plants grown on natural soil under natural condition with AMF. We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction of the inclusive decay $$\Lambda _c^+ \rightarrow K_S^0X$$ Λ c + → K S 0 X . The analysis is performed using an $$e^+e^-$$ e + e - collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 taken at $$\sqrt{s}$$ s = 4.6 GeV with the BESIII detector. Using eleven Cabibbo-favored $${\bar{\Lambda }}_c^-$$ Λ ¯ c - decay modes and the double-tag technique, this absolute branching fraction is measured to be $${\mathcal {B}}(\Lambda _c^+ \rightarrow K_S^0X)=(9.9\pm 0.6\pm 0.4)\%$$ B ( Λ c + → K S 0 X ) = ( 9.9 ± 0.6 ± 0.4 ) % , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The relative deviation between the branching fractions for the inclusive decay and the observed exclusive decays is $$(18.7\pm 8.3)\%$$ ( 18.7 ± 8.3 ) % , which indicates that there may be some unobserved decay modes with a neutron or excited baryons in the final state.

Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has infected millions of people worldwide and has contributed to over 650,000 deaths. This review synthesizes the literature on COVID-19 pharmacotherapy to inform practice and policymaking. Areas covered: The authors systematically review the published literature on COVID-19 therapeutics, grouping candidate treatments into repurposed, adjunct, and experimental agents. They conducted meta-analysis where appropriate and provide recommendations based on compilation from real-time/interim therapeutic guidelines. They then advise on how to navigate and advance the evidence in the current context of uncertainty and urgency and provide expert opinion on suggested framework. Expert opinion: Current evidence does not support a clear role for pharmacotherapy in COVID-19. While promising signals have been found through limited number of RCTs, these must be interpreted with caution. Without proper protection from bias and confounding we risk exposing patients to treatments where the potential for benefit is at best unclear, yet the potential for harm from adverse effects is high leading to a trade-off dilemma in decision making. Advancing the evidence requires a coordinated effort to design and conduct robust trials and to systematically synthesize and critically evaluate findings. Therapies should be reserved for use in clinical trials, emergency or compassionate access until we gain more confidence in the balance of benefit and harm.

In the present paper, we study a Newton-like method for solving the variational inclusion defined by the sums of a Frechet differentiable function, divided difference admissible function and a set-valued mapping with closed graph. Under some suitable assumptions on the Frechet derivative of the differentiable function and divided difference admissible function, we establish the existence of any sequence generated by the Newton-like method and prove that the sequence generated by this method converges linearly and superlinearly to a solution of the variational inclusion. Specifically, when the Frechet derivative of the differentiable function is continuous, Lipschitz continuous, divided difference admissible function admits first order divided di_erence and the setvalued mapping is pseudo-Lipschitz continuous, we show the linear and superlinear convergence of the method. The behavior of anodic porous alumina film formed on an aluminum surface by anodizing in chromic acid solutions was optimized using Box–Wilson experimental design. The film thickness was correlated as a function of temperature, acid concentration, applied voltage, and time. A mathematical model was suggested and optimized. Results of coating thickness indicate that both temperature and time play an important role in the anodizing process. The interaction effect of variables on the film thickness is less pronounced compared with the effect of the main variables. Optimum film thickness obtained during the anodizing process was 10.43 µm at the optimum value of temperature (45 °C) and time (68 min). The polarization measurement of anodized aluminum ASA 6061 in chromic acid shows a high corrosion resistance in the presence of coating. The results confirmed by using surface morphology investigations.

There are more than 522 towns and cities in Bangladesh, which generate thousands of tons of solid waste known as Municipal Solid Waste. Low collection coverage and disposal facilities are responsible for unsatisfactory waste management. The composting technology is a good alternative method for managing MSW. The present study was conducted to assess the quality of the MSW compost produced from the solid wastes of Mymensingh Pourashava. For quality assessment physical, chemical and biological properties of prepared compost namelye bulk density, porosity, water-holding capacity, moisture content, pH, organic matter content, C:N ratio, NPKS content, buffering capacity, soluble salts content, heavy metal content and the presence of harmful organisms in the MSW compost were studied. The results indicated that the MSW compost was matured and stable having pH 7.3 and buffering capacity of the MSW compost were good but the organic matter content and C : N (14.5) ratio were low. The N, P, K and S content of the MSW compost were 0.9, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.45 percent of the total volume. The soluble salts content and heavy metal content of the compost were found to be within the permissible limits. The MSW compost contained no E. coli and Salmonella. From the results, it can be concluded that, the composting could produce acceptable quality of compost, which can be used as fertilizer or soil amendment.

Background: Peptic ulcer perforation management is still an enigma. Though the overall incidence has been reduced worldwide due to wide use of anti-ulcerants, still it is not uncommon. But there is a debate regarding its conservative management over surgical management. Objective: To determine whether surgery could be avoided in selected patients with perforated peptic ulcer disease Methods: This study was conducted in the department of Surgery of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital during the period from 1st March 2016 to 31st August 2016. After approval from the institutional ethics committee, 30 patients of suspected perforated peptic ulcer disease were successively assigned in this study on clinical and radiological basis. All were given non-operative regimen up to 24 hours. Then they were closely monitored to see improvement of clinical condition or development of any complication. Non-operative treatment was abandoned if the patient failed to improve or deteriorated within 24 hours of non-operative treatment. The data were collected by active participation of patients’ interview in preformed data collection sheet. Results: The data analysis of 30 patients yielded that most of them (86.67%) recovered well after receiving non-operative management, whereas only 4 patients (13.33%) showed no progression and were treated by laparotomy. 73.08% patients with uneventful outcome left the hospital within 10 days of admission and the others were a little late to leave. Conclusion: Patients with perforated peptic ulcer disease can be effectively treated by conservative approach in properly selected cases by proper monitoring under strict supervision of an experienced consultant.
