Let $\mathcal{F}$ be a family of $r$-uniform hypergraphs. Denote by $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{F})$ the maximum number of hyperedges in an $n$-vertex connected $r$-uniform hypergraph which contains no member of $\mathcal{F}$ as a subhypergraph. Denote by $\mathcal{B}C_k$ the Berge cycle of length $k$, and by $\mathcal{B}P_k$ the Berge path of length $k$. F\"{u}redi, Kostochka and Luo, and independently Gy\H{o}ri, Salia and Zamora determined $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ provided $k$ is large enough compared to $r$ and $n$ is sufficiently large. For the case $k\le r$, Kostochka and Luo obtained an upper bound for $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$. In this paper, we continue investigating the case $k\le r$. We precisely determine $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ when $n$ is sufficiently large and $n$ is not a multiple of~$r$. For the case $k=r+1$, we determine $\ex^{\mathrm{conn}}_r(n,\mathcal{B}P_k)$ asymptotically.

There are two particular $\Theta_6$-graphs - the 6-cycle graphs with a diagonal. We find the planar Tur\'an number of each of them, i.e. the maximum number of edges in a planar graph $G$ of $n$ vertices not containing the given $\Theta_6$ as a subgraph and we find infinitely many extremal constructions showing the sharpness of these results - apart from a small additive constant error in one of the cases.

Given two graphs $H$ and $F$, the generalized planar Tur\'an number $\mathrm{ex}_\mathcal{P}(n,H,F)$ is the maximum number of copies of $H$ that an $n$-vertex $F$-free planar graph can have. We investigate this function when $H$ and $F$ are short cycles. Namely, for large $n$, we find the exact value of $\mathrm{ex}_\mathcal{P}(n, C_l,C_3)$, where $C_l$ is a cycle of length $l$, for $4\leq l\leq 6$, and determine the extremal graphs in each case. Also, considering the converse of these problems, we determine sharp upper bounds for $\mathrm{ex}_\mathcal{P}(n,C_3,C_l)$, for $4\leq l\leq 6$.

We prove Jones' famous conjecture for Halin graphs and a somewhat more general class of graphs too. A based planar graph is a planar one that has a face adjacent to every other face. We confirm Jones' conjecture for based planar graphs. Namely, if a based planar graph does not contain $k+1$ vertex-disjoint cycles, then it suffices to delete $2k$ vertices to make it acyclic.

A subgraph of an edge-colored graph is rainbow if all of its edges have different colors. Let $G$ and $H$ be two graphs. The anti-Ramsey number $\ar(G, H)$ is the maximum number of colors of an edge-coloring of $G$ that does not contain a rainbow copy of $H$. In this paper, we study the anti-Ramsey numbers of $K_k$ in complete multi-partite graphs. We determine the values of the anti-Ramsey numbers of $K_k$ in complete $k$-partite graphs and in balanced complete $r$-partite graphs for $r\geq k$.

Bollob\'as proved that for every $k$ and $\ell$ such that $k\mathbb{Z}+\ell$ contains an even number, an $n$-vertex graph containing no cycle of length $\ell \bmod k$ can contain at most a linear number of edges. The precise (or asymptotic) value of the maximum number of edges in such a graph is known for very few pairs $\ell$ and $k$. In this work we precisely determine the maximum number of edges in a graph containing no cycle of length $0 \bmod 4$.

Chung and Graham considered the problem of minimizing the number of edges in an $n$-vertex graph containing all $n$-vertex trees as a subgraph. We consider the problem of extending partial edge colorings of (iterated) cartesian products of even cycles and paths, focusing on the case when the precolored edges constitute a matching. We prove the conjecture of Casselgren, Granholm and Petros that a precolored distance 3 matching in the Cartesian product of two even cycles can be extended to a 4-coloring of the edge set of the whole graph. Actually, a generalization for the Cartesian product of two bipartite graphs is proved.

A graph is outerplanar if it has a planar drawing for which all vertices belong to the outer face of the drawing. Let $H$ be a graph. The outerplanar Tur\'an number of $H$, denoted by $ex_\mathcal{OP}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex outerplanar graph which does not contain $H$ as a subgraph. In 2021, L. Fang et al. determined the outerplanar Tur\'an number of cycles and paths. In this paper, we use techniques of dual graph to give a shorter proof for the sharp upperbound of $ex_\mathcal{OP}(n,C_k)\leq \frac{(2k - 5)(kn - k - 1)}{k^2 - 2k - 1}$., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

The generalized Tur\'an number $\ex(n,K_s,F)$ denotes the maximum number of copies of $K_s$ in an $n$-vertex $F$-free graph. Let $kF$ denote $k$ disjoint copies of $F$. Gerbner, Methuku and Vizer [DM, 2019, 3130-3141] gave a lower bound for $\ex(n,K_3,2C_5)$ and obtained the magnitude of $\ex(n, K_s, kK_r)$. In this paper, we determine the exact value of $\ex(n,K_3,2C_5)$ and described the unique extremal graph for large $n$. Moreover, we also determine the exact value of $\ex(n,K_r,(k+1)K_r)$ which generalizes some known results.

Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a set of graphs. The planar Tur\'an number, $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,\mathcal{H})$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex planar graph which does not contain any member of $\mathcal{H}$ as a subgraph. When $\mathcal{H}=\{H\}$ has only one element, we usually write $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,H)$ instead. The topic of extremal planar graphs was initiated by Dowden (2016). The planar Tur\'an number, $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex planar graph which does not contain $H$ as a subgraph. The topic of extremal planar graphs was initiated by Dowden (2016). He obtained sharp upper bound for both $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,C_4)$ and $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,C_5)$. Later on, D. Ghosh et al. obtained sharp upper bound of $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,C_6)$ and proposed a conjecture on $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,C_k)$ for $k\geq 7$. In this paper, we give a sharp upper bound $ex_\mathcal{P}(n,C_7)\leq {18\over 7}n-{48\over 7}$, which satisfies the conjecture of D. Ghosh et al. An independent vertex subset $S$ of the directed graph $G$ is a kernel if the set of out-neighbors of $S$ is $V(G)\setminus S$. An independent vertex subset $Q$ of $G$ is a quasi-kernel if the union of the first and second out-neighbors contains $V(G)\setminus S$ as a subset. Deciding whether a directed graph has a kernel is an NP-hard problem. In stark contrast, each directed graph has quasi-kernel(s) and one can be found in linear time. In this article, we will survey the results on quasi-kernel and their connection with kernels. We will focus on the small quasi-kernel conjecture which states that if the graph has no vertex of zero in-degree, then there exists a quasi-kernel of size not larger than half of the order of the graph. The planar Tur\'an number ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_k)$ is the largest number of edges in an $n$-vertex planar graph with no cycle of length $k$. Let $k\ge 11$ and $C,D$ be constants. Cranston, Lidick\'y, Liu and Shantanam \cite{2021Planar}, and independently Lan and Song \cite{LanSong} showed that ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_k)\ge 3n-6-\frac{Cn}{k}$ for large $n$. Moreover, Cranston et al. conjectured that ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_k)\le 3n-6-\frac{Dn}{k^{lg_23}}$ when $n$ is large. In this note, we prove that ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_k)\ge 3n-6-\frac{6\cdot 3^{lg_23}n}{k^{lg_23}}$ for every $k$. The Wiener index of a (hyper)graph is calculated by summing up the distances between all pairs of vertices. We determine the maximum possible Wiener index of a connected $n$-vertex $k$-uniform hypergraph and characterize for every~$n$ all hypergraphs attaining the maximum Wiener index.

An edge-colored graph is said to contain a rainbow-$F$ if it contains $F$ as a subgraph and every edge of $F$ is a distinct color. The problem of maximizing edges among $n$-vertex properly edge-colored graphs not containing a rainbow-$F$, known as the rainbow Tur\'an problem, was initiated by Keevash, Mubayi, Sudakov and Verstra\"ete. We investigate a variation of this problem with the additional restriction that the graph is planar, and we denote the corresponding extremal number by $\ex_{\p}^*(n,F)$. In this work, we give the sharp upper bound for the number of cliques in graphs with bounded odd circumferences. This generalized Tur\'an-type result is an extension of the celebrated Erd\H{o}s and Gallai theorem and a strengthening of Luo's recent result. The same bound for graphs with bounded even circumferences is a trivial application of the theorem of Li and Ning.

Extensions of Erd\H{o}s-Gallai Theorem for general hypergraphs are well studied. In this work, we prove the extension of Erd\H{o}s-Gallai Theorem for linear hypergraphs. In particular, we show that the number of hyperedges in an $n$-vertex $3$-uniform linear hypergraph, without a Berge path of length $k$ as a subgraph is at most $\frac{(k-1)}{6}n$ for $k\geq 4$.

Let $H$ be a graph and $p$ be an integer. The edge blow-up $H^p$ of $H$ is the graph obtained from replacing each edge in $H$ by a copy of $K_p$ where the new vertices of the cliques are all distinct. Let $C_k$ and $P_k$ denote the cycle and path of length $k$, respectively. In this paper, we find sharp upper bounds for $ex(n,K_3,C_3^3)$ and the exact value for $ ex(n,K_3,P_3^3)$ and determine the graphs attaining these bounds.

Let $f_k(n,H)$ denote the maximum number of edges not contained in any monochromatic copy of~$H$ in a $k$-coloring of the edges of $K_n$, and let $ex(n,H)$ denote the Tur\'an number of $H$. In place of $f_2(n,H)$ we simply write $f(n,H)$. Keevash and Sudakov proved that $f(n,H)=ex(n,H)$ if $H$ is an edge-critical graph or $C_4$ and asked if this equality holds for any graph $H$. All known exact values of this question require $H$ to contain at least one cycle. In this paper we focus on acyclic graphs and have the following results: (1) We prove $f(n,H)=ex(n,H)$ when $H$ is a spider or a double broom. (2) A \emph{tail} in $H$ is a path $P_3=v_0v_1v_2$ such that $v_2$ is only adjacent to $v_1$ and $v_1$ is only adjacent to $v_0,v_2$ in $H$. We obtain a tight upper bound for $f(n,H)$ when $H$ is a bipartite graph with a tail. This result provides the first bipartite graphs which answer the question of Keevash and Sudakov in the negative. (3) Liu, Pikhurko and Sharifzadeh asked if $f_k(n,T)=(k-1)ex(n,T)$ when $T$ is a tree. We provide an upper bound for $f_{2k}(n,P_{2k})$ and show it is tight when $2k-1$ is prime. This provides a negative answer to their question.

In this paper we estimate the planar Tur\'an number $\mathrm{ex}_\mathcal{P}(n,H)$ of some graphs $H$, i.e., the maximum number of edges in a planar graph $G$ of $n$ vertices not containing $H$ as a subgraph. We give a new, short proof when $H=C_5$, and study the cases when $G$ is bipartite or triangle-free and $H$ is a short even cycle. The proofs are mostly new applications or variants of the "contribution method" introduced by Ghosh, Gy\H{o}ri, Martin, Paulos and Xiao in arXiv:2004.14094.

We determine the maximum number of copies of $K_{s,s}$ in a $C_{2s+2}$-free $n$-vertex graph for all integers $s \ge 2$ and sufficiently large $n$. Moreover, for $s\in\{2,3\}$ and any integer $n$ we obtain the maximum number of cycles of length $2s$ in an $n$-vertex $C_{2s+2}$-free bipartite graph.

In 1952, Dirac proved that every $2$-connected $n$-vertex graph with the minimum degree $k+1$ contains a cycle of length at least $\min\{n, 2(k+1)\}$. Here we obtain a stability version of this result by characterizing those graphs with minimum degree $k$ and circumference at most $2k+1$. We present applications of the above-stated result by obtaining generalized Tur\'an numbers. In particular, for all $\ell \geq 5$ we determine how many copies of a five-cycle as well as four-cycle are necessary to guarantee that the graph has circumference larger than $\ell$. In addition, we give a new proof of Luo's Theorem for cliques using our stability result.

The generalized Tur\'{a}n number $ex(n,K_s,H)$ is the maximum number of complete graph $K_s$ in an $H$-free graph on $n$ vertices. Let $F_k$ be the friendship graph consisting of $k$ triangles. Erd\H{o}s and S\'os (1976) determined the value of $ex(n,K_3,F_2)$. Alon and Shikhelman (2016) proved that $ex(n,K_3, F_k)\le (9k-15)(k+1)n.$ In this paper, by using a method developed by Chung and Frankl in hypergraph theory, we determine the exact value of $ex(n,K_3,F_k)$ and the extremal graph for any $F_k$ when $n\ge 4k^3$.

We resolve a conjecture of Cox and Martin by determining asymptotically for every $k\ge 2$ the maximum number of copies of $C_{2k}$ in an $n$-vertex planar graph.

In this paper we disprove a conjecture of Lidick\'y and Murphy about the number of copies of a given graph in a $K_r$-free graph and give an alternative general conjecture. We also prove an asymptotically tight bound on the number of copies of any bipartite graph of radius at most $2$ in a triangle-free graph.

We say that $k$ graphs $G_1,G_2,\dots,G_k$ on a common vertex set of size $n$ contain a rainbow copy of a graph $H$ if their union contains a copy of $H$ with each edge belonging to a distinct $G_i$. We provide a counterexample to a conjecture of Frankl on the maximum product of the sizes of the edge sets of three graphs avoiding a rainbow triangle. We propose an alternative conjecture, which we prove under the additional assumption that the union of the three graphs is complete. Given a graph $F$, the planar Tur\'an number of $F$, denoted $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n, F)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex $F$-free planar graph. Such an extremal graph problem was initiated by Dowden while determining sharp upper bound for $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_4)$ and $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_5)$, where $C_4$ and $C_5$ are cycles of length four and five respectively. In this paper we determined an upper bound for $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,2})$, $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,3})$, $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,4})$, $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,5})$, $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{3,3})$ and $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{3,4})$, where $S_{m,n}$ is a double star with $m$ and $n$ leafs. Moreover, the bounds for $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,2})$ and $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{2,3})$ are sharp.

Let $H$ be a graph. The generalized outerplanar Tur\'an number of $H$, denoted by $f_{\mathcal{OP}}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of copies of $H$ in an $n$-vertex outerplanar graph. Let $P_k$ be the path on $k$ vertices. In this paper we give an exact value of $f_{\mathcal{OP}}(n,P_4)$ and a best asymptotic value of $f_{\mathcal{OP}}(n,P_5)$. A $k$-book in a hypergraph consists of $k$ Berge triangles sharing a common edge. In this paper we prove that the number of the hyperedges in a $k$-book-free 3-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices is at most $\frac{n^2}{8}(1+o(1))$.

In a generalized Tur\'an problem, two graphs $H$ and $F$ are given and the question is the maximum number of copies of $H$ in an $F$-free graph of order $n$. In this paper, we study the number of double stars $S_{k,l}$ in triangle-free graphs. We also study an opposite version of this question: what is the maximum number edges/triangles in graphs with double star type restrictions, which leads us to study two questions related to the extremal number of triangles or edges in graphs with degree-sum constraints over adjacent or non-adjacent vertices., Comment: 18 pages, 4 figures

The Tur\'an number of a graph $H$, denoted by $\text{ex}(n, H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex graph that does not have $H$ as a subgraph. Let $TP_k$ be the triangular pyramid of $k$-layers. In this paper, we determine that $\text{ex}(n,TP_3)= \frac{1}{4}n^2+n+o(n)$ and pose a conjecture for $\text{ex}(n,TP_4)$.

We call a $4$-cycle in $K_{n_{1}, n_{2}, n_{3}}$ multipartite, denoted by $C_{4}^{\text{multi}}$, if it contains at least one vertex in each part of $K_{n_{1}, n_{2}, n_{3}}$. The Tur\'an number $\text{ex}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}})$ $\bigg($ respectively, $\text{ex}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}},\{C_{3}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}}\})$ $\bigg)$ is the maximum number of edges in a graph $G\subseteq K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}$ such that $G$ contains no $C_{4}^{\text{multi}}$ $\bigg($ respectively, $G$ contains neither $C_{3}$ nor $C_{4}^{\text{multi}}$ $\bigg)$. We call a $C^{multi}_4$ rainbow if all four edges of it have different colors. The ant-Ramsey number $\text{ar}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}})$ is the maximum number of colors in an edge-colored of $K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}$ with no rainbow $C_{4}^{\text{multi}}$. In this paper, we determine that $\text{ex}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}})=n_{1}n_{2}+2n_{3}$ and $\text{ar}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}})=\text{ex}(K_{n_{1},n_{2},n_{3}}, \{C_{3}, C_{4}^{\text{multi}}\})+1=n_{1}n_{2}+n_{3}+1,$ where $n_{1}\ge n_{2}\ge n_{3}\ge 1.$

A tree $T$ on $2^n$ vertices is called set-sequential if the elements in $V(T)\cup E(T)$ can be labeled with distinct nonzero $(n+1)$-dimensional $01$-vectors such that the vector labeling each edge is the component-wise sum modulo $2$ of the labels of the endpoints. It has been conjectured that all trees on $2^n$ vertices with only odd degree are set-sequential (the "Odd Tree Conjecture"), and in this paper, we present progress toward that conjecture. We show that certain kinds of caterpillars (with restrictions on the degrees of the vertices, but no restrictions on the diameter) are set-sequential. Additionally, we introduce some constructions of new set-sequential graphs from smaller set-sequential bipartite graphs (not necessarily odd trees). We also make a conjecture about pairings of the elements of $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ in a particular way; in the process, we provide a substantial clarification of a proof of a theorem that partitions $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ from a 2011 paper by Balister et al. In this note we show that the maximum number of edges in a $3$-uniform hypergraph without a Berge cycle of length four is at most $(1+o(1))\frac{n^{3/2}}{\sqrt{10}}$. This improves earlier estimates by Gy\H{o}ri and Lemons and by F\"uredi and \"Ozkahya.

For given graphs $G$ and $F$, the Tur\'an number $ex(G,F)$ is defined to be the maximum number of edges in an $F$-free subgraph of $G$. Foucaud, Krivelevich and Perarnau and later independently Briggs and Cox introduced a dual version of this problem wherein for a given number $k$, one maximizes the number of edges in a host graph $G$ for which $ex(G,H) < k$. Addressing a problem of Briggs and Cox, we determine the asymptotic value of the inverse Tur\'an number of the paths of length $4$ and $5$ and provide an improved lower bound for all paths of even length. Moreover, we obtain bounds on the inverse Tur\'an number of even cycles giving improved bounds on the leading coefficient in the case of $C_4$. Finally, we give multiple conjectures concerning the asymptotic value of the inverse Tur\'an number of $C_4$ and $P_{\ell}$, suggesting that in the latter problem the asymptotic behavior depends heavily on the parity of $\ell$., Comment: updated to include the suggestions of reviewers

A subgraph of an edge-colored graph is rainbow, if all of its edges have different colors. For a graph $G$ and a family $\mathcal{H}$ of graphs, the anti-Ramsey number $ar(G, \mathcal{H})$ is the maximum number $k$ such that there exists an edge-coloring of $G$ with exactly $k$ colors without rainbow copy of any graph in $\mathcal{H}$. In this paper, we study the anti-Ramsey number of $C_{3}$ and $C_{4}$ in the complete $r$-partite graphs. Let $\mathcal{F}$ be a nonempty family of graphs. A graph $G$ is called $\mathcal{F}$-\textit{free} if it contains no graph from $\mathcal{F}$ as a subgraph. For a positive integer $n$, the \emph{planar Tur\'an number} of $\F$, denoted by $\ex_{\p}(n,\F)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex $\F$-free planar graph. Let $\Theta_k$ be the family of Theta graphs on $k\geq 4$ vertices, that is, graphs obtained by joining a pair of non-consecutive vertices of a $k$-cycle with an edge. Lan, Shi and Song determined an upper bound $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,\Theta_6)\leq \frac{18}{7}n-\frac{36}{7}$, but for large $n$, they did not verify that the bound is sharp. In this paper, we improve their bound by proving $\text{ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,\Theta_6)\leq \frac{18}{7}n-\frac{48}{7}$ and then we demonstrate the existence of infinitely many positive integer $n$ and an $n$-vertex $\Theta_6$-free planar graph attaining the bound., Comment: 27 pages, 21 figures

Hakimi and Schmeichel determined a sharp lower bound for the number of cycles of length 4 in a maximal planar graph with $n$ vertices, $n\geq 5$. It has been shown that the bound is sharp for $n = 5,12$ and $n\geq 14$ vertices. However, the authors only conjectured the minimum number of cycles of length 4 for maximal planar graphs with the remaining small vertex numbers. A hypergraph is linear if any two of its edges intersect in at most one vertex. The Sail (or $3$-fan) $F^3$ is the $3$-uniform linear hypergraph consisting of $3$ edges $f_1, f_2, f_3$ pairwise intersecting in the same vertex $v$ and an additional edge $g$ intersecting all $f_i$ in a vertex different from $v$. The linear Tur\'an number $ex_{lin}(n, F^3)$ is the maximum number of edges in a $3$-uniform linear hypergraph on $n$ vertices that does not contain a copy of $F^3$. F\"{u}redi and Gy\'arf\'as proved that if $n = 3k$, then $ex_{lin}(n, F^3) = k^2$ and the only extremal hypergraphs in this case are transversal designs. They also showed that if $n = 3k+2$, then $ex_{lin}(n, F^3) = k^2+k$, and the only extremal hypergraphs are truncated designs (which are obtained from a transversal design on $3k+3$ vertices with $3$ groups by removing one vertex and all the hyperedges containing it) along with three other small hypergraphs. However, the case when $n =3k+1$ was left open. In this paper, we solve this remaining case by proving that $ex_{lin}(n, F^3) = k^2+1$ if $n = 3k+1$, answering a question of F\"{u}redi and Gy\'arf\'as. We also characterize all the extremal hypergraphs. The difficulty of this case is due to the fact that these extremal examples are rather non-standard. Let ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,T,H)$ denote the maximum number of copies of $T$ in an $n$-vertex planar graph which does not contain $H$ as a subgraph. When $T=K_2$, ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,T,H)$ is the well studied function, the planar Tur\'an number of $H$, denoted by ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,H)$. The topic of extremal planar graphs was initiated by Dowden (2016). He obtained sharp upper bound for both ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_4)$ and ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_5)$. Later on, Y. Lan, et al. continued this topic and proved that ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_6)\leq \frac{18(n-2)}{7}$. In this paper, we give a sharp upper bound ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_6) \leq \frac{5}{2}n-7$, for all $n\geq 18$, which improves Lan's result. We also pose a conjecture on ${\rm ex}_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_k)$, for $k\geq 7$., Comment: 27 pages, 17 figures
