Vietnam and China have a shared history of collaboration and conflict, with economic interdependence becoming an important pillar in recent decades. China's larger worldwide policy of economic and cultural expansion (or the ‘go-out strategy') is crucial in facilitating Chinese migration to Vietnam, notably in the form of contract labour migration. Simultaneously, China's borderland and economic corridor development policies contribute greatly to commerce flows and social visits connecting the two nations’ border regions. Since its inception in 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has strengthened these economic ties and created an environment conducive to educational exchanges. In the context of Vietnam's long history of student exchanges with the West, this article examines how both China and Vietnam respond to new educational and economic opportunities presented by the BRI. It focuses on (a) the role of student mobility in the development of Vietnam's education system, (b) the state and institutional initiatives centred on academic collaboration and scholarship programmes, including BRI, that facilitate Vietnam-China educational exchanges, and (c) the significance of cultural and language learning as a basis for student mobility flows against the backdrop of educational diplomacy and deepening economic ties between the two nations. The Medical University of Warsaw is one of Poland's largest medical universities, currently enrolling nearly 10,000 students, including 608 international undergraduates. This manuscript aims to share our experience with a literature review on organizing and coordinating clinical classes for English Division undergraduate medical students at a single centre in a country where English is not an official language. We would like to highlight certain aspects that have proven highly beneficial in our educational efforts and offer universal advice applicable to clinical classes in any specialty. In this publication, we summarize and emphasize the critical aspects of creating conducive conditions for acquiring knowledge and practical skills by English Division students. We provide readers with good practices for tutor selection, organizational aspects, preparation of educational materials, presenting theoretical knowledge, teaching practical skills, medical simulations, doctor-patient communication, learning progress evaluation, comparison of diverse healthcare environments, students' feedback, and creating opportunities for further development after course completion. This study explores development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) as it aspires to become a leading international education hub, set against the backdrop of established hubs in Malaysia, Qatar and the San Francisco Bay Area. Through a comparative analysis grounded in an adapted George Keller framework, the research investigates the internal and external dynamics influencing the internationalization strategies of these regions. The findings highlight the critical role of leveraging unique regional identities, navigating global trends alongside local adaptations and prioritizing collaboration over competition. Interviews with experts within the GBA provide formative insights into the necessary steps for advancing its internationalization, including the need for a unified regional strategy, addressing systemic and policy barriers and fostering a unique cultural identity. The study contributes to both theoretical and policy discourses on higher education internationalization by offering a comprehensive framework for understanding and analysing strategic development in emerging education hubs. It underscores the importance of adaptive strategies that are responsive to global educational trends, rooted in local strengths and geared towards fostering collaborative, innovative ecosystems. Chinese students represent a substantial portion of the UK university student population, with most of them being postgraduates. However, whilst the UK remains a top choice for Chinese students seeking to complete a higher degree programme, competition within the global Higher Education (HE) landscape is intensifying. Consequently, popular HE destinations such as the USA and the UK must now contend with growing academic markets in Australia and New Zealand (Marginson, 2006) as well as some non-English speaking countries which offer appealing university degrees through English-Medium-Instruction (EMI) (Mok, 2007). It is therefore salutary to ensure that Chinese students continue to find the UK appealing. This is vitally important both for the economy and the intellectual diversity and talents these students bring to UK HE institutions. This study thus revisits the core motives which drive Chinese students to UK universities. Significantly, unlike other investigations which have treated the topic of motivation rather marginally and through broad research scopes, this paper uses a 'small-lens approach' (Ushioda, 2016), which here is operationalised through the combination of practitioner research and narrative analysis. Pursuing education overseas is a high impact practice in higher education. Students who identify as LGBTQIA + —commonly referred to as "queer," an umbrella term—may be more likely to participate yet face additional unique challenges. Using a systematic review of literature across multiple disciplines, this paper explores LGBTQIA + students' motivations, identity development, and university experiences while participating in education overseas. It also aims to define the term queer international student and examines the theoretical frames used to understand this population in the literature. Findings show that literature carves out a composite of students who view, and sometimes actively seek, overseas education to develop themselves, express their identities, and live in communities that are more welcoming and safer than those at home. However, they also face conflict in English language classrooms, on campuses, and with their families as they navigate expectations, with some switching between cisheteronormative and queer identities in different communities. On university campuses, scholars noted, queer international students can be viewed singularly as international students, with their sexual orientations and other intersectional identities going unrecognized or being erased. Moreover, higher education scholars and practitioners often do not designate—or perhaps exclude—international students in studies and programming for LGBTQIA + students. As a result, queer international students may not feel like they belong in any group and risk being double-marginalized in higher education. Over the past decade, micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) have garnered significant attention due to their frequent detection in and potential toxic effects on the environment and organisms, making them a serious threat to human health. To comprehensively understand the research on MNPs' toxicity, we employed the R language-based Bibliometrix toolkit (version 4.3.0), VOSviewer (version 1.6.11) and CiteSpace (version 6.3.R1) to perform statistical and visual analyses of 3541 articles pertaining to MNPs' toxicity between 2014 and 2023, which were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. The analysis revealed that research related to MNPs' toxicity has experienced a rapid increase in recent years. China's particularly prominent influence in the field of MNPs' toxicity is evidenced by its academic exchanges and the establishment of a mature cooperation system with other countries (regions), such as the USA and Germany. Studies related to MNPs' toxicity are primarily published in leading journals, including the Science of the Total Environment, Environmental Pollution, and the Journal of Hazardous Materials. The Chinese Academy of Sciences was identified as the leading institution in terms of research on MNPs' toxicity, contributing 203 papers to the total number of studies published. Keyword co-occurrence and burst analyses indicated that the current research on MNPs' toxicity mainly focuses on the toxic effects of MNPs on aquatic organisms, the combined toxicity of MNPs and other contaminants, and the toxic effects and mechanisms of MNPs. Future research should integrate computational toxicology and toxicomics to enhance our understanding of MNPs' toxicity mechanisms and assess the potential health risks posed by atmospheric MNPs. Narratives of international educational exchange programmes such as the US–sponsored Fulbright and the Commonwealth–centred Carnegie grants reveal the formative role these exchanges played in extending the geographical, scholarly, and professional boundaries of women's worlds. Notably, these award schemes influenced, shaped and expanded the career aspirations and professional experiences of a group of women from Australia and New Zealand. In this article, we take up the question of the distinctive opportunities each programme presented for women awardees and consider their differing experiences primarily due to the specific programme on which they embarked. We argue that the extent to which participation in an exchange programme might have provided benefits to individual Australian and New Zealand women could also become the spur for awardees to advocate for an expansion of opportunities for other women. Whereas corporate insiders at U.S.-listed, U.S.-domiciled companies must disclose their stock sales electronically within two business days on Form 4, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) exempts insiders at U.S.-listed, foreign-domiciled companies from this requirement. Instead, these "foreign insiders" report their sales on a paper form mail-filed with the SEC. Using a unique data set compiled from digitized versions of thousands of paper forms, we examine the stock sales of foreign insiders and compare their trading to that of their U.S. counterparts. Consistent with a lack of public scrutiny facilitating opportunism, we show that foreign insiders' stock sales are highly opportunistic and opportunistic trading is concentrated in companies that are domiciled in nonextradition countries beyond the reach of U.S. legal authorities: specifically, Russia and China. The average stock sale by foreign insiders affiliated with companies domiciled in these countries is more than four times larger than that of U.S. insiders and occurs prior to stock price declines of at least −18%. In our sample, we estimate that insiders at these companies have traded to avoid losses of more than $9 billion. Collectively, our results suggest that corporate insiders associated with Chinese and Russian companies listed on U.S. exchanges trade in a highly opportunistic and abusive manner. The SEC's decision to exempt these insiders from Form 4 reporting requirements prevents much needed public scrutiny of their trading and, in turn, prevents market forces from disciplining their trading. Social exchange theory (SET) is a leading sociopsychological theory that has enriched understanding of consumers' behavior. In this study, we examine application of SET in consumer research over last 52 years (1971–2022) in terms of predominant topics, publications, outlets, networks, and clusters. We adopt a holistic approach by amalgamating systematic literature review (SLR) using Scientific Procedures and Rationales for SLRs protocol; scientometric analysis utilizing bibliographic coupling and betweenness centrality; and topic modeling employing latent Dirichlet allocation. Based on text analysis of 215 full research papers, the study extracts five predominant areas of extant consumer research leveraging SET: (1) relationship marketing, (2) collaborative consumption, (3) gifting behavior, (4) brand experience, and (5) tourism and hospitality. Scientometric mapping reveals six cohesive clusters and identifies seminal studies in SET‐based consumer research. Over the last two decades, the knowledge production, research, and reconfiguration of universities have been understood as ways of giving new meanings to the university–society binomial. In this regard, humanities are the subject of multiple debates in the face of ideas about their impact in relation to the "other sciences". Based on these premises, this article sets out to explore possible meanings attributed by researchers to the concepts of commitment, mobilization, and transfer of research in humanities in view of the debates on the university–society interaction and the third mission of the university. The methodology used will address bibliographical analysis, theoretical background, and statements from different institutions, as well as the analysis of material from four interviews. As a first instance, the preliminary results show that strengthening critical thinking as forms of commitment emerge as central senses, focusing on Hungarian characteristics and productions in order to unravel the ways of understanding and imagining Eastern European reality. The theory of academic exchanges emphasises the importance of international cooperation to improve the quality of education, stimulate innovation and promote cultural diversity. China and Russia are two major world powers with rich history and culture. The exchange of international students between the countries is an important aspect of the friendly format of cooperation in higher education. During such exchange, students can improve their foreign language skills, enrich their personal life experience, ensure high competitiveness in employment, and expand their knowledge and skills in the field of their profession. This paper analyses the current situation and predicts future directions of educational exchange through various prisms, including the experience of academic student exchange between universities in the two countries. It analyses the attitudes of Chinese students studying at SPbSU towards higher education in Russia. The author notes that academic exchanges and foreign learning experiences provide opportunities for international students to broaden their horizons and fulfil their emotional needs in study and life. Students from both countries have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different cultural and academic environment, improve their intercultural communication skills and broaden their global perspectives. It also focuses on the opinion of Chinese students about the quality of higher education in Russia. Academic exchanges of students are of great importance for the state, as they act as instruments of forming «soft power» in another country, strengthen diplomatic relations between countries, form a positive image of the state, attract investments, etc. Thus, academic exchanges are a way for countries to develop cooperation at various levels - from educational to economic. To investigate the current state of the concept of academic student exchange between China and Russia, to study the significance of this international co-operation for the development of the higher education system. Methodology. The paper uses collection and analysis of information sources, historical method, comparison and generalisation, survey with the help of the author's questionnaire. SPSS Statistics 23 software is used to analyse empirical data. Results. The result of the work is the identification of the peculiarities of the sphere of academic exchange of students between China and Russia, the determination of the importance of this cooperation for the development of the higher education system at the international level. The author concludes that cooperation in the development of innovations in key areas of education contributes to the smoothing of cultural differences between the countries, and expands opportunities for students of both countries in higher education. Practical implications. The results of the study can be used in the educational sphere of international cooperation. Teachers and specialists involved in planning the educational process in the university sphere have the opportunity to create an innovative approach to improve the academic exchange programme for students, taking into account the socio-cultural criteria analysed in the article.

It highlights the absence of a strategic approach in managing this tourism sector and aims to assess the current state of religious tourism, identify challenges, and recommend strategic directions for enhancing religious tourism destinations. The research reveals a fragmented approach to managing religious tourism, characterized by poor coordination among stakeholders, inadequate promotion, underdeveloped infrastructure, and challenges in cultural heritage preservation. The study emphasizes the necessity for stronger collaboration among religious communities, tourism organizations, and governmental authorities, advocating for enhanced promotional efforts, infrastructure investments, and robust measures for cultural and religious heritage conservation. Workforce indigenization in Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries is under-researched in international business literature, especially among expatriate academics from the Middle East and North Africa regions working in GCC countries. Therefore, drawing from the social exchange and conservation of resources theories, this study examines the moderating effect of perceived fairness on the relationship between positive affectivity (PA) and creativity in the context of enhanced indigenization of human resource (HR) policies in GCC countries. This study collects data from 228 mobile academics working in Saudi universities. Principal least squares structural equation modeling results show that PA positively impacts creativity. Further, perceived fairness is found to reinforce the connection between PA and creativity. This study's results indicate that host universities must build appealing HR policies to cope with the diverse challenges related to the indigenization of HR policies. Founded in 2008 through a partnership between Northwestern University and Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q) educates creative, ethical, and impactful communicators, and contributes both to Northwestern's excellence and the rise of Qatar as a knowledge-based society. NU-Q's vision is multidisciplinary, multimodal, multilingual, and focused on the Global South as an intellectual and creative space for research and teaching. In the historical higher education (HE) context of early post-independence Africa, little was done to unpack or critique the dominant notion of African universities as "developmental" and to create workable models for the future. The resultant conflictual role of African universities, caught between the demands of academic excellence, on the one hand, and local demands of development and regional and communal impact, on the other, have not yet been adequately resolved. Conceptually and organisationally, "engagement", "transfer" and "outreach" activities serve as mechanisms to bridge the divide between the traditional academy and the needs and expectations of societal stakeholders located outside of formal HE structures. This is now often referred to as the third mission (TM) of HE, the first and second missions being teaching and research. In recent years, many of the existing DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) African Centres of Excellence (ACE) have established partnerships and networks with actors from the political, social and economic sector to increase their relevance and impact in their regions, especially relating to Sustainable Development Goals. Against this backdrop, a qualitative exploratory study was conducted to determine the experiences and perceptions of participating representatives from ten ACE, located in their different and specific regional and societal contexts, about their university-society community engagement (CE) or TM activities. This article reports on the findings of this study, which contributes to the larger aims of identifying long-term synergies and collaboration potential and the development of conceptual models that are scalable. Meeting the needs of students in schools has been challenging for many years. Consequently, some schools have responded with comprehensive, multi-tiered intervention systems (e.g., MTSS) aimed at addressing students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. However, most educators have a rudimentary understanding of these systems and the impact of trauma and traumatic experiences on students' response to interventions. Currently, there is limited research on how building level-administrators integrate trauma-informedness into these tiered systems. This conceptual article outlines the importance of administrators' perception, understanding, and implementation of using a trauma-informed lens in educational decision making, specifically regarding MTSS implementation. This article presents an overview of the literature and an approach to trauma-informed approach that administrators can utilize when making educational decisions, specifically within multi-tiered systems of intervention and student supports. This article provides a comparative analysis of international education strategies employed by the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It explores how both superpowers sought to disseminate their ideologies globally, leading to direct competition. The US and Soviet Union utilized international education to cultivate friendly elites and countries aligned with their respective values. Both nations implemented educational exchange programs and aimed to establish or reform educational systems abroad. This article discusses the successful academic exchange program between Soka University in Japan and St. Stephen's College in India. The program has fostered long-term relationships between the two universities through administrative interaction, a shared founding spirit, a trusted study abroad coordinator, and a bi-directional flow of exchange students. The article also explores study abroad trends in both countries and the challenges faced by Japanese students studying in India. Texting has been identified as a tool that has the potential to enhance informational exchanges between academic advisors and students. We use focus group and survey data from a recent texting intervention to assess student and advisor receptivity to texting as a new mode of communication. The data reveal that most students immediately saw the benefits of this new tool. In contrast, advisors initially were very skeptical of its value. They raised concerns about having a voice in the content of the messages and the time commitment that would be needed to respond to students' texts. Over time, this feedback led to modifications in the texting protocol and, in turn, advisors came to view texting as an important mechanism for improving communication with students. We introduce a simple geometric model of opinion polarization. It is a model of political persuasion as well as marketing and advertising, utilizing social values. It focuses on the interplay between different topics and persuasion efforts. We demonstrate that societal opinion polarization often arises as an unintended by-product of influencers attempting to promote a product or idea. We discuss a number of mechanisms for the emergence of polarization involving one or more influencers, sending messages strategically, heuristically, or randomly. We also examine some computational aspects of choosing the most effective means of influencing agents and the effects of those strategic considerations on polarization. Funding: J. Although in the educational context the virtual exchange practices have become popular since pandemic, there is a need to examine and provide more evidences and lessons learned from this kind of international experiences in order to advance in teaching on line and to train students how to be efficient when working in virtual teams. This paper studies the results of a virtual collaboration among three universities in two different countries (Peru and India). It discusses the methodologies and pedagogies of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and global virtual team (GVT) and presents an instrument that was developed to understand student's needs and interests in several aspects (work in international teams, acquisition of intercultural knowledge and skills). A survey was applied to 77 students in Peru and India. The results showed the development of students' communication and collaboration skills as well as cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of other cultures. Despite the challenges that appeared during the project such as time difference, schedule, language barriers and engagement of some team members, students appreciated the opportunity to engage with peers from another country and to learn more about their culture. The COIL methodology, in contrast to GVT method, offers students more holistic and transformative learning experience supported and guided by lecturers. Purpose: The objective of the argument in this paper is to attempt at answering the question whether learning and knowledge exchange are the key factors determining online work preferences for Generation Z employees. Design/methodology/approach: The essence of knowledge management is that all knowledge, both explicit and tacit, accumulated by an organization becomes easily accessible to each of its members. This is important for decision-making processes and allows the organization to become more agile. Knowledge management is most often associated with modern information technologies. Thanks to them, streams of various data can be processed and analyzed in many different ways. However, in the literature there is an increasingly common attitude that more attention should be paid not only to the technological but also to the human aspect of knowledge management. The processes of knowledge exchange among employees have been subject to extensive research and studies, yet the recent years have added another thread to the discussion about the matter, i.e. a significant proportion of employees switching to the online work model. Based on the findings of the studies conducted on a group of employees representing Generation Z, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique was applied to organize the factors with the highest relevance for the respondents in online work. Findings: PCA demonstrated that the components recognized as most important were those relating to knowledge transfer and their impact on employee efficiency, and on the other hand employee relations as a factor that supports the learning processes. Research limitations/implications: In order to dwell upon the underlying causes of this situation, it should be recommended to proceed with further in-depth qualitative research. Practical implications: What the research communicates to the organization is that although Generation Z members are aware of the significance of the knowledge transfer and learning processes and they understand the role of peer relations in these processes, they are unable to overcome the social barriers created by the online working system due to lack of appropriate skills. Originality/value: The paper reveals new aspects that play crucial role in shaping Generation Z attitude to online work from one side. Pakistan has limited trade with Central Asian Republics (CARs). Facing with stagnant exports and widening trade gap, CARs offer a great opportunity to Pakistan to diversify and expand its trade. The study analyzed the existing trade profile of Pakistan generally and with Central Asian states particularly. Additionally, the potentials for trade with CARs were also explored. The analysis suggests that trade with the CARs has not been encouraging as trade volume with these countries is nominal as total exports to CARs rose from US$ 40.4 M in 2016 to US$109 M in 202. Similarly imports also grew at nominal rate from US$ 28.0 M IN 2016 to US$ 59.1 M in 2021. Great trade potential exists for trade with Central Asian Countries. Pakistan has comparative advantage in different products like cotton and cotton products, pharmaceuticals, sports items, surgical items, cement, sugar, IT and telecommunication etc. and can export cheaper goods to the Central Asian states. Moreover, Central Asian Republics are rich in natural resources and Pakistan can import a number of products to meet local needs and accelerate economic development. However, Pakistan’s trade with the CARs has been facing upheavals, mainly due to continuous insecurity in Afghanistan, money exchange issues, banking and transaction problems, tariff issues and absence of direct flights. It is recommended that trad with Central Asian states shall be improved through transit and free trade agreements. Moreover, rationalization of tariff and provision of banking facilities in CARs, trade exhibitions, simplification of processes, tourism and cultural and educational exchange programs facilitated by direct flights and easy visa processes can help boost mutual trade. Construction of road and railways infrastructure in Afghanistan and extension of CPEC project to Afghanistan will connect Afghanistan and CARs to Pakistan which will reduce time and cost of transportation and hence will improve trade among Pakistan, Afghanistan and Central Asian Republics. Purpose: The aim of this paper is to investigate the social interaction between international students and the local community in the small university town of Famagusta, North Cyprus. The objectives of the study are, firstly, to investigate the nature of interaction between two communities; secondly, to ascertain the main factors impacting social interaction and, finally, to identify the impact of this interaction on cultural exchange. Design/methodology/approach: Using a qualitative approach, the researchers conducted 39 semi-structured interviews with international students and members of the local community to gain depth and detail. Findings: The results showed that there was a lack of interaction between the international students and locals due mainly to language barriers. Originality/value: This study addresses a gap in the literature on educational tourism by focusing on the social interaction between foreign students and the host community in a nontraditional destination. In an ever-evolving, technology-driven world, STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) holds a central and vital place, equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to confront 21st-century challenges. This paper examines the influential role of international networks and experiences in shaping pedagogical practices within the STEM education field, with a particular emphasis on the international network for STEM educators, Science on Stage Europe. Through a questionnaire, we aimed to gather data on educators' knowledge of STEM education, participation in professional development, utilization of STEM-focused curriculum or instructional materials, and, crucially, the pedagogical approaches they employ in their teaching. The collected data reveal diverse levels of familiarity with STEM education, a wide range of pedagogical approaches employed by educators, and a high interest in professional development to enhance their ability to integrate STEM education in their teaching methods. This paper recommends fostering collaboration between educational institutions and international organizations to facilitate the exchange of experiences among educators. This collaboration aims to strengthen the network of STEM educators in North Macedonia, providing them with international innovative experiences and practices to enhance the future development of STEM education in the country. International educational exchanges have brought favorable conditions for bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Taking 54 countries along the "Belt and Road" as a sample, the article links the "Belt and Road" education exchange with China's export and analyzes the internal logic mechanism of education exchange affecting China's export. The study found that studying in China and opening Confucius Institutes significantly promoted China's export to countries along the line. Among them, Confucius Institutes promote China's export less than overseas education, and the trade creation effect of overseas education in China is significantly different in different types, regions, and economic development levels. Further research shows that education exchanges can promote China's export by promoting human capital accumulation in trade partners and establishing internationally friendly relations. Because of this, the international community should actively carry out educational exchanges, enrich exchange forms, improve the level and quality of educational exchanges, and provide international talent support for trade cooperation while promoting the construction of friendly economic and trade relations. International economic exchanges have become more frequent, and the degree of the mutual influences of investor sentiment in the stock markets of various countries has been increasing. Therefore, the study of cross‐country spillover effects of investor sentiment is of great relevance to the analysis of financial market linkage and the diffusion mechanisms between countries. This study examined the directions and levels of investor sentiment spillovers in 10 countries from 2003 to 2020 by constructing aggregate and directional spillover indices and analyzing the static and dynamic characteristics as well as the network structures of the spillover effects. The results revealed that (1) investor sentiment had significant cross‐country spillover effects and their intensities were time‐varied, with the total sentiment spillover index rising sharply in response to extreme events, such as the subprime mortgage crisis, the European sovereign debt crisis, the United Kingdom's (U.K.) Brexit policy, and the coronavirus pandemic. (2) The spillover effects were impacted by the level of economic and financial development. Overall, developed countries had higher levels of spillover than did developing countries. (3) Countries that were highly correlated with extreme events had stronger spillover effects. For example, the United States and the U.K. were the main net "exporters" of sentiment during the subprime crisis, and Germany became the top "exporter" during the European sovereign debt crisis.
