Abstract

In the present work, magnetic properties of single crystal (Fe$_{1-x}$Mn$_x$)$_2$Mo$_3$O$_8$ ($00.3$. Meanwhile, sizeable electric polarization of spin origin is commonly observed in all samples, no matter what the magnetic state is. For the samples hosting a ferrimagnetic state, square-like magnetic hysteresis loops are revealed, while the remnant magnetization and coercive field can be tuned drastically by simply varying the Mn-content or temperature. Possible coexistence of the antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic phases is proposed to be responsible for the remarkable modulation of magnetic properties in the samples.

Abstract

Linear magnetoelectric effect is an attractive phenomenon in condensed matters and provides indispensable technological functionalities. Here a colossal linear magnetoelectric effect with diagonal component alfa_33 reaching up to ~480 ps/m is reported in a polar magnet Fe2Mo3O8, and this effect can persist in a broad range of magnetic field (~20 T) and is orders of magnitude larger than reported values in literature. Such an exceptional experimental observation can be well reproduced by a theoretical model affirmatively unveiling the vital contributions from the exchange striction, while the sign difference of magnetocrystalline anisotropy can also be reasonably figured out., Comment: 14 pages and 4 figures

13. Construction of Aptamer-Functionalized DNA Hydrogels for Effective Inhibition of Shiga Toxin II Toxicity

Abstract

Bacterial infections have been seriously endangering public health and life, making it imperative to explore novel anti-infection strategies for their control. Herein, we constructed a DNA hydrogel encoded with aptamers (Apt-hydrogel) to inhibit Shiga toxin II (Stx2) toxicity, thereby alleviating Escherichia coli(EHEC) infection. The Apt-hydrogel was formed by two Y-shaped DNA scaffolds through rational design, where one end of Y was encoded with an aptamer sequence targeting the B subunit of Shiga toxin II (Stx2B). The Apt-hydrogel not only retained the high affinity of the aptamer but also provided protection for the aptamer, endowing it with better stability and biocompatibility. The results from in vitro and in vivo demonstrated good mediation effects of the Apt-hydrogel on Stx2 toxicity and confirmed its excellent inhibition activity. We hypothesized that the mechanism could be attributed to the high affinity of Apt-hydrogel for Stx2B, which effectively occupies the active site of Stx2B and its receptor Gb3. This interaction enhanced steric hindrance, thereby mediating their interaction and preventing Stx2 from entering the cell to exert toxicity. We anticipate that the novel Apt-hydrogel will expand the usage of aptamers and provide a new dimension for the Apt-hydrogel as a promising blocking assistant to inhibit Shiga toxin infections via a strong steric hindrance effect.

As an effective tool for evaluating the non-financial performance of a company, the ESG rating has been widely used in investment, risk management, corporate governance, and sustainable development. Investors, consumers, and regulators increasingly rely on ESG ratings to assess the sustainability of companies. Visualization techniques play a crucial role in showing ESG ratings and their differences more intuitively. With the help of visualization technology, investors can quickly grasp the ESG performance of companies, gain insight into the root causes of rating divergence, and make more informed investment decisions. At the same time, companies can use visualization technology to demonstrate their strengths and efforts in ESG and enhance public trust. Research shows that as data science and artificial intelligence technologies continue to advance, the visualization of ESG ratings will become more accurate, efficient, and personalized. This will help further promote the popularization and practice of the concept of sustainable development and contribute to the realization of global green development and corporate social responsibility.

Abstract

Single crystalline polar magnets (Mn1−xCox)2Mo3O8 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) have been synthesized, and their magnetic properties have been studied. Magnetic interactions of the samples can be modulated drastically by Co-doping, and a ferrimagnetic to antiferromagnetic phase transition is identified at x = 0.35. For the samples hosting a ferrimagnetic state (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3), square-like magnetic hysteresis loops are commonly identified, and the remnant magnetization and coercive field are revealed to strongly depend on the Co-content and temperature. The occupation ratio and magnetic nature of Co2+ are key ingredients to dictate the competition of various magnetic exchange couplings in the samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

In the present work, the magnetic properties of a single crystal (Fe1–xMnx)2Mo3O8(0 ≤ x≤ 1) have been studied by performing extensive measurements. A detailed magnetic phase diagram is built up, in which the antiferromagnetic state dominates for x≤ 0.25 and the ferrimagnetic phase arises for x≥ 0.3. Meanwhile, a sizeable electric polarization of spin origin is commonly observed in all samples, no matter what the magnetic state is. For the samples hosting a ferrimagnetic state, square-like magnetic hysteresis loops are revealed, while the remnant magnetization and coercive field can be tuned drastically by simply varying the Mn content or temperature. A possible coexistence of the antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic phases is proposed to be responsible for the remarkable modulation of magnetic properties in the samples.

Abstract

The homogeneous Cu–ZnO and heterogeneous Ag/ZnO nanorods were synthesised by controlling the ionic radius of Cu and Ag with lattice of ZnO. The structure of Cu–ZnO and Ag/ZnO was investigated by a series of methods. The study of the photoelectric properties suggested both the homogeneously and heterogeneously doped ZnO displayed an increased photocatalytic performance. It was worth noting that the Cu–ZnO and Ag/ZnO composites shown different degradation activities of methylene blue under the visible and UV light irradiation. The data suggested that the Cu species incorporated into the crystal lattice of ZnO nanorods could promote the utilisation of visible light, leading to 2.5- and 2.7-fold increase in the degradation rates compared with Ag/ZnO and ZnO nanorods. However, when UV light was employed, on the one hand, the significant increase of the activity for both Cu–ZnO and Ag/ZnO compared with ZnO was observed and on the other hand, the degradation rate of Cu–ZnO was close to that of Ag/ZnO. The investigation suggested that the metallic Cu in the ZnO crystal lattice could promote the separation of electrons and holes generated by ZnO under visible light. As for the UV light, both doping styles could favour the separation process. The present work could provide a further insight for the design of ZnO-based nanomaterials and development of their applications in environmental catalysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The Dempster-Shafer (D-S) theory is widely applied in various fields involved with multi-sensor information fusion for radar target tracking, which offers a useful tool for decision-making. However, the application of D-S evidence theory has some limitations when evidences are conflicting. This paper proposed a new method combining the Pignistic probability distance and the Deng entropy to address the problem. First, the Pignistic probability distance is applied to measure the conflict degree of evidences. Then, the uncertain information is measured by introducing the Deng entropy. Finally, the evidence correction factor is calculated for modifying the bodies of evidence, and the Dempster’s combination rule is adopted for evidence fusion. Simulation experiments illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method dealing with conflicting evidences.

Abstract

Objective: To explore the factors associated with recurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) after loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)., Methods: A total of 236 patients with CIN owing to high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection underwent LEEP and followed up with thinprep cytologic test (TCT), HPV genotype test and biopsy histology., Results: Among them, 22 patients (9.3%) developed recurrent disease at 12 months post-LEEP. And the persistent infection rate of high-risk HPV was 10.6% (25/236). The odds ratio for recurrent CIN in patients with persistent infection of high-risk HPV was 38.9 (P < 0.01). Recurrent rate was associated with HPV DNA load pre-LEEP (P < 0.05), HPV16 infection (P < 0.01) and positive margin (P < 0.05)., Conclusion: HPV DNA load >1 000 RLU/CO, HPV 16 infection and positive margin are risk factors for recurrence. And persistent infection of high-risk HPV is a significant predictor of recurrent CIN.
