In this study, glass fiber reinforced composite layers which are with and without additives of 0.1 wt.% multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) of epoxy were manufactured by vacuum infusion method. Unlike the conventional methods, punching was used in processing and drilling of these materials. The 62 - 64 HRC hard punches made of 1.3343 material with specially designed 90 degrees, 30 degrees, 15 degrees, V, C profiles were used for punching of composites. Additionally, made of 1.2379 material with 62 - 64 HRC hardness, the mold with 0.05, 0.01 and 0.16 mm clearance values was used. Fujifilm prescale and chatillon load cell were used for force measurement that showed the pressure applied by punches with different cutting profiles. Hole diameter, delamination and burring were analyzed by 3d laser scanner. In test values with mold's 0.05 mm clearance, no burr was observed. The cutting surface of MWCNTs doped composite materials was found to be cleaner and material strength was higher.

Bu çalışmada 60-62 HRC sertlik değerine sahip Sleipner Soğuk İş Takım Çeliğinden Bakır Krom Zirkonyum Alaşımı Elektrot kullanılarak elektro erozyon işleme (EEİ) yöntemi ile talaş kaldırılmıştır. Bu kapsamda üç farklı boşalım akımı (6,25; 12,5; 25 A), üç farklı ark süresi (3; 6; 9 µs), üç farklı bekleme süresi (4; 6; 8 µs) işleme parametreleri kullanılarak deneyler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kullanılan işleme parametrelerinin yüzey pürüzlülüğü, kerf açısı, işleme süresi gibi temel performans çıktıları üzerindeki etkileri analitik ölçümler ve makro analizlerile belirlenmiştir. Yapılan analizler neticesinde bekleme süresinin artması ile işleme süresi büyük ölçüde artmış boşalım akımının ve ark süresinin artması ile azalmıştır. Boşalım akımının artması iş parçası ve elektrot arasında kıvılcımlanmayı arttırarak noktasal erime ve buharlaşma arttırmıştır bunun neticesinde yüzey pürüzlülüğü artmıştır. Düşük ark süresi ve yüksek bekleme süresi elektrotu birim zamanda daha fazla çalıştırarak aşındırmış bu aşınma sonucunda ortalama kerf açısı artmıştır. Boşalım akımının % 100 ve % 300’lük artışı neticesinde ortalama yüzey pürüzlülüğü sırasıyla % 62 ve % 87 oranında artmıştır. EEİ esnasında hem iş parçasının hemde elektrot malzemesinin aşınmasıyla ortaya çıkan debris ve kalıntıların ortamdan tahliye edilememesi veya elektrot uç kısımlarına yapışması işleme süresinde, yüzey pürüzlülüğünde ve elektrot aşınmasına bağlı kerf oluşumunda düzensizliğe sebep olmuştur., In this study, metal was removed by electro erosion processing method using Copper Chromium Zirconium Alloy Electrode from Sleipner Cold Work Tool Steel with 60-62 HRC hardness value. In this context, experiments were carried out using three different discharge currents (6,25; 12,5; 25 A), three different pulse on times (3; 6; 9 µs), three different pulse off times (4; 6; 8 µs). The effects of the used processing parameters on the fundamental performance outputs such as surface roughness, kerf angle, processing time were determined by analytical measurements and macro analysis. As a result of the analysis, the processing time increased significantly with the increase in the pulse off time and decreased with the increase of the working current and pulse on times. The increase in the working current increased the spark between the workpiece and the electrode, increasing the point melting and evaporation, as a result of which the surface roughness increased. The electrode was worn out due to the effect of the low pulse on time and high pulse off time parameters, as it worked more per unit time, as a result of this wear, the average kerf angle increased. As a result of the % 100 and % 300 increase in the discharge current, the average surface roughness increased by % 62 and % 87, respectively. Failure to evacuate debris and residues caused by wear of both the workpiece and the electrode material during EDM or sticking to electrode tips were caused irregularity in the processing time, surface roughness and kerf formation due to electrode wear.

Bu çalışmada elektro erozyon yöntemi ve Cupro MAX CuCrZr elektrot kullanılarak, ısıl işlem görmüş 60-62 HRC sertliğe sahip soğuk iş takım çeliğinden talaş kaldırma neticesinde meydana gelen elektrot aşınması incelenmiştir. Dielektrik ortamda elektrot ve iş parçası arasında meydana gelen elektriksel ark (kıvılcımlanma) neticesinde ergime ve buharlaşma yoluyla iş parçası ve elektrot malzeme aşınır. Bu aşınmalar elektrot form ölçüleri ve yüzey pürüzlülüğündeki değişimlerle yorumlanabilir. Bu kapsamda sırasıyla üç farklı akım değeri (6.25, 12.5, 25 A), üç farklı ark süresi (3, 6 , 9 µs) ve bekleme süreleri (4, 6, 8 µs) kullanılarak erozyon işlemi gerçekleştirilmiş ve bu işleme parametrelerinin elektrot aşınma hızı, kerf açısı ve yüzey pürüzlülüğüne etkileri makro ve analitik ölçümlerle analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler neticesinde, akımının artmasıyla, iş parçası ve elektrot arasında artan kıvılcımlanmaya bağlı olarak işleme süresi azalmıştır fakat elektrodun ortalama yüzey pürüzlülüğü, kerf açısı ve aşınma hızı artmıştır. Ark süresi arttıkça elektrot aşınma hızının azaldığı tespit edilmiştir. Elektrot aşınmasındaki azalma, dielektrik sıvı ve iş parçasından salınan karbon partiküllerinin elektrot yüzeyine yapışarak oluşan koruyucu tabaka nedeniyle elektrotun mukavemetinin artmasından kaynaklanmıştır., In this study, electrode wear caused by machining from cold work tool steel with heat treated 60-62 HRC hardness was investigated by using electro erosion method and Cupro MAX CuCrZr electrode. The workpiece and electrode material are eroded by melting and evaporation as a result of the electrical arc (sparking) that occurs between the electrode and the workpiece in the dielectric environment. These erosions can be interpreted by changes in electrode form measurements and surface roughness. In this context, erosion process was performed using three different current values (6.25, 12.5, 25 A), three different pulse on times (3, 6, 9 µs) and pulse off times (4, 6, 8 µs), respectively, and the electrode wear rate of these processing parameters, the effects on kerf angle and surface roughness were analyzed by macro and analytical measurements. As a result of the analysis, with increasing current, machining time decreased due to increased sparking between workpiece and electrode, but the average surface roughness, kerf angle and wear rate of the electrode increased. It has been determined that as the pulse on time increases, the electrode wear rate decreases. The reduction in electrode wear resulted from the increase in the strength of the electrode due to the protective layer formed by the adhesion of the dielectric fluid and carbon particles released from the workpiece to the electrode surface.

Bu çalışmada, farklı malzemelerin en iyi özelliklerini tek bir malzemede toplayıp, fiziksel ve mekanik ihtiyaçları karşılayarak birçok kullanım alanına sahip stratejik malzeme üreterek; nanopartikül takviyesi ile daha dayanıklı, daha hafif, alışılandan farklı ve üstün malzeme özellikleri/üretim süreçleri elde edilmiştir. Vakum infüzyon yöntemi kullanılarak; 8 katmanlı düz örgülü cam elyafı ile epoksi reçinenin ağırlıkça % 0,1 oranında çok cidarlı karbon nanotüp (ÇCKNT) katkılı ve katkısız kompozit tabakalar üretilmiştir. İmalatı tamamlanan her bir kompozit tabakadan örnekler alınarak; çekme testi, yoğunluk ve yakma testi, sertlik analizi yapılarak mekanik özellikleri tespit edilmiştir. Nanopartikül katkısının elastik modül, çekme dayanımı, poison oranı, yoğunluk, fiber hacim oranı, matriks hacim oranı, boşluk hacim oranı, yüzey sertliği üzerine etkisi tespit edilmiştir. Saf ve katkılı kompozit tabakalardan aynı sayıda ve ölçülerde test numuneleri hazırlanarak, aynı şartlar altında ayrı ayrı işlenebilirlik çalışmaları yapılmıştır. Farklı kesme profilli zımba ve kalıp kullanarak delme, parmak freze kullanarak orbital delme ve frezeleme, farklı nokta açısına sahip matkaplar kullanarak konvansiyonel delme, lazer kesim ve su jeti kesim gibi imalat yöntemleri kullanılarak işlenebilirlikleri analiz edilmiştir. Zımba ile delme çalışmalarında; yük ölçümü için Amatek (Load Cell), basınç ölçümleri için Fujifilm (Prescale) , boyut ve yüzey kontrolleri için 3 boyutlu lazer tarama (Romer Absolute Arm) kullanılmıştır. Freze çakısı ve matkap kullanılarak yapılan delme işlemi Makino S33 model CNC tezgahında faklı tezgâh devri ve ilerleme parametreleri seçilerek yapılmıştır. Yüzey frezeleme işlemleri ARION GEVS 500A NC freze tezgâhı kullanılarak tamamlanmıştır. Kesici takım aşınmaları Zoller Genius 3s tezgâhı kullanılarak tespit edilmiştir. Yüzey pürüzlülüğü ölçümleri için Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-310, ölçüsel kontroller için Mitutoyo 150 mm dijital kumpaslar kullanılmıştır. Frezelenen yüzeyler Olympus BX-53 PHAKO stereo mikroskobu ile muayene edilmiştir. Lazer ve su jeti kesimde elde edilen mikroskobik bulgular Nikon SMZ 745T mikroskobu ile analiz edilmiştir. Garnet aşındırıcılı su jeti ve CO2 lazer yöntemleri kullanılarak yapılan kesimlerden elde edilen termal ve mekanik hasarlar, ölçüsel problemler ve hassasiyetler rapor edilmiştir. In this study, by gathering the best properties of different materials in a single material, meeting the physical and mechanical needs, producing strategic materials having many uses; with nanoparticle reinforcement, more durable, lighter, different than usual and superior material properties / production processes were obtained. Composite plates of 8-layer flat braided glass fiber and epoxy resin with 0.1 % by weight of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) doped and undoped were produced by vacuum infusion method. Samples were taken from each composite layer completed; mechanical properties were determined by tensile test, density and burning test, hardness analysis. The effect of nanoparticle additive on elastic modulus, tensile strength, poison ratio, density, fiber volume ratio, matrix volume ratio, void volume ratio, surface hardness were determined. Test samples were prepared from pure and doped composite sheets at the same number and dimensions, and individual machinability studies were carried out under the same conditions. Machinability of the produced composites were analyzed by using manufacturing methods such as punching using different cutting profile punch and die, orbital drilling and milling using end mill, conventional drilling using different point angles, laser cutting and water jet cutting. In punching by punchs; Amatek (Load Cell) was used for load measurement, Fujifilm (Prescale) was used for pressure measurements, 3D laser scanning (Romer Absolute Arm) was used for dimension and surface controls. Drilling process using milling knife and drill was performed by selecting different machine speed and progress parameters on Makino S33 model CNC machine. Surface milling was completed using the ARION GEVS 500A NC milling machine. Cutting tool wear was determined using Zoller Genius 3s machine tool. Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-310 was used for surface roughness measurements and Mitutoyo 150 mm digital calipers were used for dimensional controls. The milled surfaces were examined with Olympus BX-53 PHAKO stereo microscope. Microscopic findings obtained from laser and water jet cutting were analyzed with Nikon SMZ 745T microscope. WOS: 000510107300008, In this study, cutting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)-doped composite sheets by abrasive water jet machining (AWJM) and the effects of the water jet on cut composite materials were analyzed. The influence of MWCNTs doping to glass fiber-reinforced polymer composite plates was investigated. In addition, mechanical properties of doped composite and the effects of cutting by AWJM method were determined. It has been found that the addition of nanoparticles to layered glass fiber composite materials plays an effective role in the strength of the material and affects the abrasive water jet (AWJ) cutting quality. Additionally, composite materials were drilled using different water jet cutting parameters such as cutting speed, fixed nozzle diameter, cutting pressure and abrasive garnet. The entry-exit hole diameter, kerf, delamination, splintering, burring, thickness and hardness change were investigated. As the cutting speed increased, rotational slip, cutting start point, circularity and circular error increased. The thickness of the composites cut by water jet method increased and surface hardness decreased due to delamination. As the cutting speed increased, the hole inlet and outlet dimensions increased, which leads to an increased in size of the kerf.
