Resumen Caso clinico Presentamos el caso de una mujer de 54 anos con una coriorretinopatia serosa central diagnosticada erroneamente de enfermedad de Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada y tratada con corticoides sistemicos. La paciente desarrollo un desprendimiento de retina exudativo bulloso en ambos ojos. Discusion La interrupcion del tratamiento con corticoides junto con el drenaje quirurgico del liquido subretiniano y la aplicacion de terapia fotodinamica consiguio la mejoria anatomica y funcional. El correcto diagnostico de las formas atipicas de la enfermedad podria evitar las complicaciones del uso inadecuado de los corticoides.

Case report The case is presented on a 54-year-old woman with a central serous chorioretinopathy, misdiagnosed as Vogt–Koyanagi–Harada disease, and treated with systemic corticosteroids. The patient presented with a bilateral bullous exudative retinal detachment. Discussion Discontinuation of corticosteroid therapy, surgical drainage of subretinal fluid, and photodynamic therapy, led to anatomical and functional improvement. The recognition of an atypical presentation of central serous chorioretinopathy may avoid complications of the inappropriate treatment with corticosteroids.

Resumen Caso clinico Paciente con un melanoma coroideo que desarrollo un edema macular secundario a maculopatia por radiacion a los 75 meses del tratamiento con braquiterapia. La enferma recibio 3 inyecciones intravitreas de bevacizumab. Discusion La respuesta al tratamiento con bevacizumab fue favorable, con disminucion del edema macular observable en la tomografia de coherencia optica y mejoria de la agudeza visual. No se produjeron recurrencias del edema macular, y la agudeza visual permanecio estable durante un periodo de seguimiento de 3 anos.

Case report A 47 year-old woman with a choroidal melanoma developed a macular edema secondary to radiation therapy 75 months after brachytherapy plaque. The patient received 3 intravitreal Bevacizumab injections. Discussion The patient had a good response to bevacizumab treatment. In fact, there was a reduction in the macular edema measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan, as well as an improvement in best corrected visual acuity. There was no recurrence of macular edema, and visual acuity remained stable after 3-years follow-up.

Case report The case is presented of a 39 year-old man with a combined hamartoma of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium, who experienced progressive visual loss and worsening of metamorphopsia. The patient underwent vitrectomy and epiretinal component peeling, with improvement in visual acuity, metamorphopsia, and retinal architecture, assessed by optical coherence tomography. Discussion Selected patients with combined hamartomas of the retina and retinal pigment epithelium may benefit from surgical management.

Resumen Caso clinico Presentamos el caso de un paciente varon de 39 anos, con un hamartoma combinado de retina y epitelio pigmentario de retina. El paciente referia disminucion progresiva de la vision y empeoramiento de la metamorfopsia. Se realizo una vitrectomia con pelado de la membrana epirretiniana, consiguiendo una mejoria de la agudeza visual y de la metamorfopsia, asi como de la arquitectura retiniana en la tomografia de coherencia optica. Discusion Algunos pacientes seleccionados con hamartomas combinados de retina y epitelio pigmentario podrian beneficiarse de la realizacion de una vitrectomia.

Resumen Caso clinico Varon de 61 anos seudofaco, con episodios recurrentes de vision borrosa asociados a uveitis, hipema, glaucoma y hemorragia vitrea. Se objetivaron defectos de transiluminacion del iris y contacto entre la optica de la lente y el iris siendo diagnosticado de sindrome de uveitis-glaucoma-hipema (UGH). Discusion La irritacion mecanica del iris consecuencia del mal posicionamiento de la lente intraocular origina el sindrome de UGH. Ocasionalmente se asocia a hemorragia vitrea. La malposicion de la lente se confirma mediante tomografia de coherencia optica y/o biomicroscopia ultrasonica.

Case report A 61-year-old pseudophakic male with recurrent blurred vision episodes associated with uveitis, hyphema, glaucoma and vitreous hemorrhage. Iris transillumination defects and apposition of the optic and iris were found. The patient was diagnosed with uveitis-glaucoma-hyphema (UGH) syndrome. Discussion Mechanical irritation of the iris is a consequence of intraocular lens malposition and causes UGH syndrome. Occasionally it is associated with vitreous hemorrhage. Lens malposition is detected by optical coherence tomography and/or ultrasound biomicroscopy.
