25. Effects of high contents of dielectric inclusions on ferroelectricity in dielectric-ferroelectric nanocomposites with dimethylammonium aluminum sulfate hexahydrate.

Abstract

The present study is devoted to analyzing effects of high contents (85 wt.%) of dielectric inclusions, including nanocellulose and silicon dioxide nanoparticles, on ferroelectricity of composites which are made by combining dimethylammonium aluminum sulfate hexahydrate with each of them. The obtained results revealed that in the case of using nanocellulose, the ferroelectricity was not detected in fresh composite samples, but then gradually appeared over time. Meanwhile, the ferroelectricity was not observed in the composite with silicon dioxide during the observation time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The DTA signal was studied in comparison with X-ray phase analysis of potassium nitrate particles in carbon nanotubes. It is shown that, for potassium nitrate particles in nanotubes, the temperature range of the existence of the KNO3 ferroelectric phase expands up to 300 K and the ferroelectric and low-temperature paraelectric phases coexist. Abstract

The temperature dependences of the dielectric constant, the third harmonic coefficient and the DTA signal of the (KNO3)0.9/(NaNO2)0.1 double salt system in comparison with pure potassium nitrate have been investigated. The studies were carried out in the temperature range 300–455 K. The expansion of the temperature range of the existence of the potassium nitrate ferroelectric phase in (KNO3)0.9/(NaNO2)0.1 was found. It is shown that the ferroelectric phase of potassium nitrate in (KNO3)0.9/(NaNO2)0.1 can occur not only upon cooling, but also upon heating. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The dielectric properties of (SC(NH2)2)0.90/(BaTiO3)0.10 and (SС(NH2)2)0.90/(C6H16NBr)0.10 composites have been studied in the temperature range covering the phase transitions in thiourea. A decrease in the Curie temperature of thiourea in the (SC(NH2)2)0.90/(BaTiO3)0.10 and (SС(NH2)2)0.90/(C6H16NBr)0.10 composites was found. Abstract

The study aims at investigating dielectric properties and DTA signal of composite ceramics (BiFeO3)1-x/(BaTiO3)x (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) from 300 to 720 K. The obtained results indicated that the Neel temperature determined at the peaks of dielectric constant near the antiferromagnetic phase transition in (BiFeO3)1-x/(BaTiO3) shifted toward lower temperatures with increasing barium titanate content. This anomaly was also confirmed by the movement of DTA signal peaks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
