The generalized filtered method of moments was developed in the recent papers by Alomari et al., 2020, and Ayache et al., 2022. It used functional data obtained from continuously sampled cyclic long-memory stochastic processes to simultaneously estimate their parameters. However, the majority of applications deal with discretely sampled processes or time series. This paper extends the approach to accommodate discrete-time scenarios. It proves that the new discrete estimates exhibit analogous properties to the continuous case and are strongly consistent with the same rates of convergence. The numerical study results are presented to illustrate the theoretical findings and to indicate the sampling rates and resolution levels required for accurate estimates., Comment: 22 pages, 6 figures

Non-Gaussian Harmonizable Fractional Stable Motion (HFSM) is a natural and important extension of the well-known Fractional Brownian Motion to the framework of heavy-tailed stable distributions. It was introduced several decades ago; however its properties are far from being completely understood. In our present paper we determine the optimal power of the logarithmic factor in a uniform modulus of continuity for HFSM, which solves an open old problem. The keystone of our strategy consists in Abel transforms of the LePage series expansions of the random coefficients of the wavelets series representation of HFSM. Our methodology can be extended to more general harmonizable stable processes and fields.

We consider a modified quadratic variation of the Hermite process based on some well-chosen increments of this process. These special increments have the very useful property to be independent and identically distributed up to asymptotically negligible remainders. We prove that this modified quadratic variation satisfies a Central Limit Theorem and we derive its rate of convergence under the Wasserstein distance via Stein-Malliavin calculus. As a consequence, we construct, for the first time in the literature related to Hermite processes, a strongly consistent and asymptotically normal estimator for the Hurst parameter.

Wavelet-type random series representations of the well-known Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) and many other related stochastic processes and fields have started to be introduced since more than two decades. Such representations provide natural frameworks for approximating almost surely and uniformly rough sample paths at different scales and for study of various aspects of their complex erratic behavior. Hermite process of an arbitrary integer order $d$, which extends FBM, is a paradigmatic example of a stochastic process belonging to the $d$th Wiener chaos. It was introduced very long time ago, yet many of its properties are still unknown when $d\ge 3$. In a paper published in 2004, Pipiras raised the problem to know whether wavelet-type random series representations with a well-localized smooth scaling function, reminiscent to those for FBM due to Meyer, Sellan and Taqqu, can be obtained for a Hermite process of any order $d$. He solved it in this same paper in the particular case $d=2$ in which the Hermite process is called the Rosenblatt process. Yet, the problem remains unsolved in the general case $d\ge 3$. The main goal of our article is to solve it, not only for usual Hermite processes but also for generalizations of them. Another important goal of our article is to derive almost sure uniform estimates of the errors related with approximations of such processes by scaling functions parts of their wavelet-type random series representations.

Spectral singularities at non-zero frequencies play an important role in investigating cyclic or seasonal time series. The publication [2] introduced the generalized filtered method-of-moments approach to simultaneously estimate singularity location and long-memory parameters. This paper continues studies of these simultaneous estimators. A wide class of Gegenbauer-type semi-parametric models is considered. Asymptotic normality of several statistics of the cyclic and long-memory parameters is proved. New adjusted estimates are proposed and investigated. The main goal of this paper is to construct a wavelet-type random series representation for a random field $X$, defined by a multistable stochastic integral, which generates a multifractional multistable Riemann-Liouville (mmRL) process $Y$. Such a representation provides, among other things, an efficient method of simulation of paths of $Y$. In order to obtain it, we expand in the Haar basis the integrand associated with $X$ and we use some fundamental properties of multistable stochastic integrals. Then, thanks to the Abel's summation rule and the Doob's maximal inequality for discrete submartingales, we show that this wavelet-type random series representation of $X$ is convergent in a strong sense: almost surely in some spaces of continuous functions. Also, we determine an estimate of its almost sure rate of convergence in these spaces.

The most known example of a class of non-Gaussian stochastic processes which belongs to the homogenous Wiener chaos of an arbitrary order N > 1 are probably Hermite processes of rank N. They generalize fractional Brownian motion (fBm) and Rosenblatt process in a natural way. They were introduced several decades ago. Yet, in contrast with fBm and many other Gaussian and stable stochastic processes and fields related to it, few results on path behavior of Hermite processes are available in the literature. For instance the natural issue of whether or not their paths are nowhere differentiable functions has not yet been solved even in the most simple case of the Rosenblatt process. The goal of our article is to derive a quasi-optimal lower bound of the asymptotic behavior of local oscillations of paths of Hermite processes of any rank N, which, among other things, shows that these paths are nowhere differentiable functions., Comment: 21 pages

Let $Z^H= \{Z^H(t), t \in \R^N\}$ be a real-valued $N$-parameter harmonizable fractional stable sheet with index $H = (H_1, \ldots, H_N) \in (0, 1)^N$. We establish a random wavelet series expansion for $Z^H$ which is almost surely convergent in all the H\"older spaces $C^\gamma ([-M,M]^N)$, where $M>0$ and $\gamma\in (0, \min\{H_1,\ldots, H_N\})$ are arbitrary. One of the main ingredients for proving the latter result is the LePage representation for a rotationally invariant stable random measure. Also, let $X=\{X(t), t \in \R^N\}$ be an $\R^d$-valued harmonizable fractional stable sheet whose components are independent copies of $Z^H$. By making essential use of the regularity of its local times, we prove that, on an event of positive probability, the formula for the Hausdorff dimension of the inverse image $X^{-1}(F)$ holds for all Borel sets $F \subseteq \R^d$. This is referred to as a uniform Hausdorff dimension result for the inverse images.

This paper studies seasonal long-memory processes with Gegenbauer-type spectral densities. Estimates for singularity location and long-memory parameters based on general filter transforms are proposed. It is proved that the estimates are almost surely convergent to the true values of parameters. Solutions of the estimation equations are studied and adjusted statistics are proposed. A first type of Multifractional Process with Random Exponent (MPRE) was constructed several years ago in (Ayache, Taqqu, 2005) by replacing in a wavelet series representation of Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) the Hurst parameter by a random variable depending on the time variable. In the present article, we propose another approach for constructing another type of MPRE. It consists in substituting to the Hurst parameter, in a stochastic integral representation of the high-frequency part of FBM, a random variable depending on the integration variable. The MPRE obtained in this way offers, among other things, the advantages to have a representation through classical It\^o integral and to be less difficult to simulate than the first type of MPRE, previously introduced in (Ayache, Taqqu, 2005). Yet, the study of H\"older regularity of this new MPRE is a significantly more challenging problem than in the case of the previous one. Actually, it requires to develop a new methodology relying on an extensive use of the Haar basis.

The study of path behaviour of stochastic processes is a classical topic in probability theory and related areas. In this frame, a natural question one can address is: whether or not sample paths belong to a critical H\"older space? The answer to this question is negative in the case of Brownian motion and many other stochastic processes: it is well-known that despite the fact that Brownian paths satisfy, on each compact interval $I$, a H\"older condition of any order strictly less than $1/2$, they fail to belong to the critical H\"older space $\mathcal{C}^{1/2}(I)$. In this article, we show that a different phenomenon happens in the case of linear multifractional stable motion (LMSM): for any given compact interval one can find a critical H\"older space to which sample paths belong. Among other things, this result improves an upper estimate, recently derived in Bierm\'e, Lacaux (2013), on behaviour of LMSM, by showing that the logarithmic factor in it is not needed.

Studying sample path behaviour of stochastic fields/processes is a classical research topic in probability theory and related areas such as fractal geometry. To this end, many methods have been developed since a long time in Gaussian frames. They often rely on some underlying "nice" Hilbertian structure, and can also require finiteness of moments of high order. Therefore, they can hardly be transposed to frames of heavy-tailed stable probability distributions. However, in the case of some linear non-anticipative moving average stable fields/processes, such as the linear fractional stable sheet and the linear multifractional stable motion, rather new wavelet strategies have already proved to be successful in order to obtain sharp moduli of continuity and other results on sample path behaviour. The main goal of our article is to show that, despite the difficulties inherent in the frequency domain, such kind of a wavelet methodology can be generalized and improved, so that it also becomes fruitful in a general harmonizable stable setting with stationary increments. Let us point out that there are large differences between this harmonizable setting and the moving average stable one.
