The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the work environment, career development, work motivation on employee performance. The research object and population in this study were employees of the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office (DPRKP) and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (DPUPR) of Sumbawa Regency. The number of samples is 200 people who work at the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office (DPRKP) and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (DPUPR) of Sumbawa Regency. The data analysis technique used is path analysis. Based on the results of the classical assumption test, it was found that the model met the required assumptions. The results of hypothesis testing show that 1) the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Sumbawa Regency; 2) The work environment has a positive but not significant effect on the Work Motivation of employees of the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Sumbawa Regency; 3) Career Development has a negative but not significant effect on the Employee Performance of the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Sumbawa Regency; 4) Career Development has a positive and significant effect on the Work Motivation of the Public Housing and Residential Area Office Employees and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Sumbawa Regency; 5) Work Motivation has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at the Public Housing and Settlement Area Office and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Sumbawa Regency.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between workplace bullying, supervisor support, and turnover intention that is mediated by work-family conflict among banking employees in Indonesia. A quantitative method study with a total of 200 banking employees as respondents was conducted in Indonesia. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the relationship between workplace bullying, supervisor support, and turnover intention, with the mediation of work-family conflict. Workplace bullying increased work-family conflict and turnover intention among Indonesian banking employees. However, it was found that supervisor support does not influence the increase in work-family conflict and turnover intention. The research presented in this paper is mainly limited to databases that were searched due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the quantitative articles from the databases, there were few supporting works of literature accessible on workplace bullying in Asia because research on workplace bullying is uncommon. Using the findings of this research, practitioners may become aware of various behavioral and psychological aspects that may influence employee turnover intention and prevent them from occurring within the organization. This paper itself builds on the concept of Yoo and Lee (2018)’s work because of its focus in Asia. The present results of this research also prove that the trust and relationship between supervisor and subordinate can help retain employees, especially those who experience personal problems. This study aims to examine the critical role of proactive personality on the employee service innovative behavior and the indirect effect of mediation of work engagement. 323 complete responses from full-time frontline employees in Indonesia’s public service organization were used and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that proactive personality positively influences employee service innovative behavior, both directly and indirectly, through work engagement. Furthermore, this research is expected to contribute to policymakers in human resources to identify proactive personality in talent recruitment and selection and pay attention to increasing work engagement as a significant mediator to stimulate innovative behavior in employee services, especially in the public sector.

This study analyzes the relationship between employees’ paradox mindset and IWB. This study also investigates thriving as mediating variable in the relationships between employees’ paradox mindset and IWB. Individual innovation is accompanied by paradoxical tension. Adopting a paradox mindset, which reflects the extent to which individuals embrace and are energized by tensions, can help people deal with tensions and innovate. Data were collected from 202 banking employees and analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. Findings reveal that employees’ paradox mindset positively affects IWB and is improved when the organization drives the employees to practice thriving at work.

The demands of Bureaucratic Reform and the ministry of finance faced the challenges of the COVID-19 Pandemic "accelerate" the implementation of New Thinking of Working in all its organizational units including FinanceGov within the Regional Office of the Ministry Finance of East Java Province in order to improve employee performance, especially during the pandemic. The results of previous studies Most Implementations of Working from Home and Transformational Leadership are able to improve employee performance. In this regard, the researcher conducted research on 152 employees in the FinanceGov unit by using online surveys and direct interviews with Human Resources managers in the unit. by Job Satisfaction can improve employee performance. Furthermore, this study is quantitative using data processing with SMARTPLS, as for the results of this study are Working from Home and Transformational Leadership affect employee performance, and job satisfaction is able to play its role as a mediating variable that strengthens the impact of Working from Home and Transforming Leadership in employee performance.

Introduction Social assistance programs create an income effect that allows low-income groups to raise their consumption to improve their well-being. However, this may unintentionally induce an increase in their consumption of temptation goods, including tobacco. By analyzing five massive social assistance programs distributed by the government since 2007, we explore whether those programs may induce increased smoking intensity in Indonesia. Methods This study is a quantitative study that applies a Tobit regression, Difference-in-Differences (DiD) regression, Difference regression, and two-sample t-test, using the 2017 Susenas (National Socioeconomic Survey) and the 2007 and 2014 Indonesia Family Life Survey. Estimations using sociodemographic, regional, and social assistance dummy variables are used to explore the impact of the programs on the intensity of cigarette consumption in Indonesia, simultaneously assessing the relationship between cigarette consumption and socioeconomic conditions. Results Our estimations using Tobit regressions confirm that social assistance recipients consume 3.39 cigarettes per capita per week more than non-recipients. The DiD regressions on IFLS panel data show that social assistance programs significantly increase cigarette consumption by 2.8 cigarettes per capita per week. We also find that: 1) smokers have lower socioeconomic indicators than non-smokers in terms of nutrition and health and education expenditures, and 2) younger household members living with smokers have less educational attainment and higher average sick days. Conclusions There is reasonable evidence to support the hypothesis that social assistance programs in Indonesia have contributed to the greater intensity of tobacco consumption among the recipients. The findings call for policy reforms in social assistance programs to be warier with the eligibility conditions for social assistance recipients. Adding new conditions related to smoking behaviors might reduce the smoking intensity of those in low-income groups and, in the long run, might improve the effectiveness of social assistance programs in raising the socioeconomic welfare of the low-income population.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya hasil penilaian kinerja yang kurang memuaskan pada Direktorat Sistem Informasi dan Teknologi Perbendaharaan. Pada kenyataannya kinerja Direktorat SITP sudah banyak dirasakan oleh stake holder. Hal lain yang menjadi perhatian adalah adanya beban kerja yang besar namun tidak mengurangi motivasi pegawai untuk tetap memberikan hasil kinerja yang maksimal. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah: (1) bagaimana pengaruh penilaian kinerja terhadap kinerja pegawai; (2) bagaimana pengaruh penilaian kinerja terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan; (3) bagaimana beban kerja mempengaruhi kinerja pegawai; (4) bagaimana beban kerja mempengaruhi motivasi kerja karyawan dan (5) bagaimana motivasi karyawan mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan survei online kepada 135 staf Direktorat SITP pada seluruh Subdirektorat. Analisis data menggunakan model persamaan struktural atau Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan pengolahan data menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS) versi 3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penilaian kinerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan; (2) penilaian kinerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan; (3) beban kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai; (4) beban kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja pegawai dan (5) motivasi kerja memberikan mediasi parsial antara penilaian kinerja dan beban kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai.

This research is motivated by the an unsatisfactory results of performance appraisal at Directorate of Treasury Information System & Technology. In fact, the performance of the Directorate of SITP has been felt by many stakeholders. Another thing that is of concern is that a large workload does not reduce employee motivation to continue to provide maximum performance. The formulations of the problems are: (1) how do performance appraisal affect the employee performance; (2) how do performance appraisal affect the employee motivation; (3) how do workload affect the employee performance; (4) how do workload affect the employee motivation and (5) how do employee motivation affect the employee performance. This research is a quantitative research. Data collection was carried out by distributing on-line surveys to 135 Directorate of SITP staff in all division. Data analysis uses a structural equation model or Structural Equation Model (SEM) with data processing using Partial Least Square (PLS) version 3. The results showed that : (1) performance appraisal had a positive and significant effect on the employee performance; (2) performance appraisal had a positive and significant effect on the employee motivation; (3) workload had a positive and significant effect on the employee performance; (4) workload had a positive and significant effect on the employee motivation and (5) employee motivation gave partial mediation between performance appraisal and workload to employee performance.

The National Police Education and Training Institute is a supporting element in the Indonesian National Police whose task is to plan, develop and carry out educational functions in the context of “Creating Tribrata Persons who are moral, professional, modern and superior”. This study aims to determine the effect of organizational culture and work motivation on employee performance with employee engagement as a mediating variable at the Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institute. The population in this study were all personnel of the National Police Education and Training Center and a sample of 202 people was obtained using the slovin formula. Data was collected using a online questionnaire. The data that has been collected is analyzed by path analysis using PLS. The results of data analysis show that: (1) Organizational culture variable has a direct and significant influence on employee performance, (2) Work motivation variable has a direct and significant influence on employee performance, (3) Organizational culture variable has a direct but not significant effect on employee engagement, (4) Variables of work motivation have a direct and significant influence on employee engagement (5) Variables of organizational culture and work motivation have an indirect influence on employee performance with employee engagement as a mediating variable at the National Police Education and Training Institute (6) Variables of employee engagement have an influence on employee performance

This study aimed to find the impact of emotional exhaustion (EE) mediation between work-family conflict (WFC), perceived organiza-tional support (POS), and turnover intention (TI) in Indonesia garment industry’s worker. This study is a part of the research conducted by the University of Indonesia (UI) research team, Tufts University (TU), Better Work-ILO (BW) and Real-Time Analytics (RTA) Vietnam. Data were collected based on survey questionnaires that obtained from surveys which was carried out by the core research team. The survey involved 2071 garment workers around DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and Central Java Provinces. Hypotheses were tested with Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The main result of this study showed that EE did not mediate the linkage between both WFC and TI, also the linkage between both POS and TI. Therefore, EE played an important role as a mediating variable in affecting the WFC and POS on TI.

Many of organization implement code of conduct as an explicit guidance to help employees knowing the standard of ethics from management“s viewpoints, with the aim to gain productivity achieving organization“s goal. The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of ethics institutionalization on organizational citizenship behavior and to analyze the role of organizational commitment in mediating the impact of ethics institutionalization on organizational citizenship behavior with psychological empowerment as a moderator in one of State Institution in Indonesia. This research will use a quantitative approach with online survey method to 250 respondents which were determined by purposive sampling method. Respondents come from employees of XYZ State Institution who already work at the institution for minimum 2 years. Based on analysis from preliminary literature, it can be concluded that all variables used in this research are valid, reliable and having correlation with each others. This research is still on progress and result will be discussed further. BackgroundThe current tobacco control policies in Indonesia are known to be ineffective in reducing tobacco consumption. Therefore, increasing cigarette prices is one of the effective instruments that should be supported by governments and society. This study aims to assess public support for cigarette price increases as well as to generate scientific evidence for the government and policymakers.MethodThis cross-sectional survey obtained data through telephone interviews with 1000 respondents aged ≥18 years old in Indonesia. The interviews started from 1 May 2018 to 31 May 2018.ResultRespondents were varied in terms of age, gender, level of education, income, occupation, area of living and smoking status. This study found that 87.9% of the respondents including 80% of smokers support cigarette price increase to prevent children from buying cigarettes. Approximately 74.0% of smokers said they would stop smoking if cigarette prices were Rp70 000 (US$5) per package. The multivariate analysis revealed that age, income, money spent on cigarettes per day and the perception of current cigarette prices are the factors influencing support for higher cigarette prices.ConclusionThe increase in cigarette prices is supported by society at large, including active smokers. The government must consistently adjust cigarette prices through an excise taxing and cigarette retail price mechanism. Governments, academicians, non-governmental organisations and tobacco control activists should generate a unified understanding that increasing cigarette prices will improve overall life quality.

Setiap organisasi memiliki tujuan yang ingin dicapainya, yaitu kelangsungan hidup dari organisasi tersebut. Sumber daya manusia merupakan salah satu faktor produksi yang terpenting, tanpa mereka organisasi akan mengalami kesulitan dalam mencapai tujuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi turnover intention di sekolahku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kausal. Teknik sampling dimana seluruh guru yang berjumlah 119 digunakan sebagai sampel dan data yang diperoleh dari kuesioner diolah menggunakan teknik analisis Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa semua hipotesis diterima. Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan perilaku supervisi (supervisory behavior), budaya organisasi dan motivasi terhadap kepuasan kerja. Terdapat pengaruh negatif dan signifikan perilaku supervisi, budaya organisasi, motivasi dan kepuasan kerja terhadap turnover intention. Dalam hasil uji pengaruh tidak langsung didapati perilaku supervisi, budaya organisasi dan motivasi memiliki pengaruh terhadap turnover intention melalui mediasi kepuasan kerja. Dengan demikian kesepuluh hipotesis diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa untuk mengurangi tingkat turnover, manajemen harus memperhatikan kepuasan kerja guru di sekolah atau karyawan pada perusahaan dan variabel-variabel yang memengaruhinya.

Indonesia has ranked third among countries with the highest number of smokers in Asia because the price of cigarettes in those countries is still affordable. The strategy to make the price of cigarettes is not affordable is increasing cigarette excise tax. This instrument is considered the most effective way to control cigarette consumption. The purpose of this study was to find out how the public perceive the increase of the cigarette excise tax to cover the National Health Insurance (NHI) deficit and to identify the factors which affect such perception. This study used mobile phone survey and the sample were 1000 respondents. The list of potential respondent’s mobile phone numbers was selected using the systematic random sampling method with an interval of 100,000 to 200,000. The result showed that 87.9% respondents agree to increase cigarette price so that the children do not start to smoke. The majority of respondents (86.2%) also agree to increase the price of cigarettes to finance the JKN deficit. Perceptions of respondents who agreed to increase the price of cigarettes to prevent smoking initiation in children also tended to accede the increase in cigarette prices for financing the JKN deficit. Abstrak Indonesia menempati peringkat ketika jumlah perokok tertinggi di Asia karena harga rokok masih terjangkau. Strategi agar harga rokok tidak terjangkau adalah menaikkan cukai rokok. Instrumen tersebut dinilai paling efektif untuk mengendalikan konsumsi rokok. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana persepsi masyarakat terhadap kenaikan cukai rokok untuk pembiayaan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) dan mengidentifikasi faktor yang memengaruhi persepsi tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan survei melalui telepon dengan sampel 1000 responden. Daftar nomor telepon seluler calon responden dipilih dengan cara systematic random sampling interval 100.000 sampai 200.000. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 87,9% setuju harga rokok dinaikkan agar anak-anak tidak mulai merokok. Mayoritas responden (86,2%) juga setuju mengenai kenaikan harga rokok untuk pembiayaan defisit JKN. Persepsi responden yang setuju terhadap kenaikan harga rokok agar mencegah inisisasi merokok pada anak-anak juga cenderung setuju terhadap kenaikan harga rokok untuk pembiayaan defisit JKN.

Indonesia is the real champions of smoking with nearly 32% of the adult populations are smokers. The prevalence of youth smoking has jumped more than fourfold during last two decades. This calls for serious effort on tobacco controlling. A high prevalence of tobacco consumption may have an adverse consequence for the future socioeconomic condition of household especially for children development. Since tobacco is addictive consumption, household often reduce other consumption to fulfil the elderly’s consumption of tobacco. As many cases that children are likely powerless in the household decision making, elderly who over controlled consumption’s decision might prioritize their tobacco consumption instead of investing on children development such as education, health, quantity and quality of food. This study utilize a longitudinal dataset of Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) aims at evaluating the impacts of parent smoking behavior on stunting indicated by children’s weight and height growth. An increase in tobacco consumption around two percentage point (1997-2014) has been compensated by a decrease in expenditure share of rice, protein and fat sources of food and education. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh gaya kepemimimpinan ethical leadership terhadap kreativitas pegawai dengan menggunakan variabel leader member exchange, motivasi intrinsik dan pemberdayaan psikologis sebagai variabel mediasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada 296 pegawai di Kementerian Desa, Pembangunan Daerah Tertinggal dan Transmigrasi Republik Indonesia. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode structural equational modeling (SEM). Variabel motivasi intrinsik dan pemberdayaan psikologis memediasi secara penuh hubungan gaya kepemimpinan ethical leadership terhadap kreativitas pegawai. Sedangkan variabel leader member exchange tidak memediasi hubungan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran motivasi intrinsik dan pemberdayaan psikilogis sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kreativitas pegawai dalam bekerja.

Digital disruption leads to high-level risk in innovation management that will impact established firms in disrupted industries. This study sampled the managers of two largest established firms in telecommunication and banking industries in Indonesia. Both industries are in top five of the most disrupted industries. Entrepreneurial leadership (EL) is essential in formulating innovation strategy. This leadership variable has multicollinearity with that of entrepreneurial culture (EC). It indicates that both variables are symbiotic. While in implementing innovation strategy, the configuring core innovation capabilities that combine exploring the opportunity and exploiting the firm’s advantage enhance the IP. Due to core rigidities, this configuring core innovation capabilities should not be orchestrated with collaborative innovation.
