Este trabalho aborda a resistência dos agricultores familiares frente à expansão urbana. O lugar da pesquisa é o Assentamento Santa Rita de Cássia II, localizado em Nova Santa Rita, Rio Grande do Sul. Os agricultores familiares neste assentamento adotam estratégias de resistência para manter os seus campos ocupados com as suas atividades agrícolas. Como está organizado o espaço do assentamento de Santa Rita de Cássia II, com destaque para as atividades agrícolas desenvolvidas? Quais são as estratégias de resistência que permitem às famílias de agricultores permanecerem vivas face à expansão urbana em Nova Santa Rita? É a todas estas questões que este trabalho de pesquisa pretende responder. A pesquisa foi realizada com o uso de entrevistas nas suas formas semiestruturadas através da aplicação de questionários, que combinam perguntas fechadas e abertas e observações feitas em saídas de campo. De acordo com os resultados da pesquisa, as formas de estratégias de resistência que os agricultores familiares utilizam no assentamento são os canais de produção agroecológica, especialmente a produção de arroz ecológico e hortaliças, sem esquecer a contribuição do PAA e do Grupo Gestor Arroz Ecológico, hortaliças, COCEARGS e COOTAP. A partir da importância da produção agroecológica, foi possível identificar que seria interessante para todos os agricultores familiares adotarem a produção orgânica como estratégia de resistência à expansão urbana, construída nos assentamentos os quais são frutos da Reforma Agrária; são produtos que carregam o simbolismo do MST, dos agricultores familiares que fazem esta luta, mas são também produtos ligados à discussão da economia sustentável e solidária. Motriz por detrás da resistência dos agricultores familiares, 80 famílias assentadas produziram na Safra 2021-2022. Num contexto de desenvolvimento da agricultura familiar, uma expressão de resistência contínua, a produção agroecológica desenvolvida no PA SRC II não pode ser absorvida pela expansão urbana. Aqui é expresso o conteúdo das estratégias de resistência dos agricultores familiares, gerando territórios de produção agroecológica de resistência e emancipação. This paper addresses the resistance of family farmers to urban expansion. The research site is the Santa Rita de Cassia II Settlement, located in Nova Santa Rita, Rio Grande do Sul. The family farmers in this settlement adopt resistance strategies to keep their fields occupied with their agricultural activities. How is the space of the Santa Rita de Cassia II settlement organized, with emphasis on the agricultural activities developed? What are the resistance strategies that allow farming families to stay alive in the face of urban expansion in Nova Santa Rita? It is to all these questions that this research work intends to answer. The research was carried out with the use of semi-structured interviews through the application of questionnaires, which combine open and closed questions, and observations made during field trips. According to the results of the research, the forms of resistance strategies that family farmers use in the settlement are the channels of agro-ecological production, especially the production of ecological rice and vegetables, not forgetting the contribution of PAA and the Grupo Gestor Arroz Ecológico, vegetables, COCEARGS and COOTAP. From the importance of agro-ecological production, it was possible to identify that it would be interesting for all family farmers to adopt, being mainly linked to organic production as strategies of resistance to urban expansion, built in the settlements that are fruits of Agrarian Reform; they are products that carry the symbolism of the MST, for the family farmers that make this struggle, but they are also products linked to the discussion of sustainable and solidarity economy. The driving force behind the resistance of family farmers, 80 settled families produced in the 2021-2022 harvests. In a context of family farming development, an expression of ongoing resistance, the agroecological production developed in PA SRC II cannot be absorbed by urban expansion. Here is expressed the content of resistance strategies of family farmers, generating territories of agro-ecological production of resistance and emancipation.

The various forms of resistance materialize in different spaces from the relationship between society and nature, in this context the agroecological processes in urban environments emerge as a process of r-existence from the territorial aspect, thus, the importance was sought as the main theme. of agroecology as a tool for socio-environmental development in peripheral areas, aimed to analyze the productive backyards of the Ilha de Caratateua, located 25Km from the urban center of the city of Belém, capital of the state of Pará, under the bases of agroecology. The research methodology initially consisted of a bibliographical survey on the geoenvironmental characteristics of the island, and a field survey of territorialities, dynamics, structure and function of productive backyards. From the research results, productive backyards were understood as a territorial typology of agroecological experience in urban areas of paramount importance for the construction of other territories and territorialities, geographies and landscapes capable of contributing to Food Sovereignty, People's Autonomy, Right to City and promotion of decolonial discourses., Las diversas formas de resistencia se materializan en diferentes espacios de la relación entre sociedad y naturaleza, en este contexto los procesos agroecológicos en entornos urbanos emergen como un proceso de r-existencia desde el aspecto territorial, por lo que se buscó la importancia como tema principal. de la agroecología como herramienta para el desarrollo socioambiental en áreas periféricas, tuvo como objetivo analizar los patios productivos de la Ilha de Caratateua, ubicada a 25Km del centro urbano de la ciudad de Belém, capital del estado de Pará, bajo las bases de la agroecología . La metodología de investigación consistió inicialmente en un relevamiento bibliográfico sobre las características geoambientales de la isla, y un relevamiento de campo de territorialidades, dinámicas, estructura y función de los patios productivos. A metodologia da pesquisa constou inicialmente com levantamento bibliográfico sobre as características geoambientais da ilha, e levantamento em campo das territorialidades, dinâmica, estrutura e função dos quintais produtivos. Diante da necessidade de mudanças na produção agrícola convencional, os sistemas agroflorestais, vertente da agroecologia, busca conferir autonomia, cultivo simultâneo, melhoria na qualidade do solo e retorno econômico. Com isso, o SAF Doceiro tem a intenção de salvaguardar a tradição doceira da região, reconhecida nacionalmente pelo IPHAN, como patrimônio cultural imaterial, a partir de frutas produzidas de forma agroecológicas, em sistemas agroflorestais. Nesse sentido, o estudo teve como objetivo analisar o Grupo SAF Doceiro a partir dos principais aspectos de participação e pertencimento ao Grupo. Foram realizadas observações participantes durante as reuniões do Grupo e foram realizadas entrevistas com participantes selecionados. Para a análise dos dados foi feito análise de conteúdo, com notas de campo, provenientes das observações participantes e das transcrições das entrevistas. A partir dessa análise, foram extraídos códigos que originaram categorias, subcategorias e temas, nos quais são Desenvolvimento territorial, Aspectos ecológicos e Tradição doceira. A grande maioria dos agricultores pertencem ao Grupo, dentre outros fatores, para aprendizado sobre SAF e troca de saberes, que se referem ao tema Desenvolvimento Territorial. Por outro lado, os relatos sobre a tradição doceira foram mais escassos entre os agricultores e mais predominantes entre os representantes das instituições. Além disso, a pesquisa mostrou que os aspectos de pertencimento ao Grupo relatados pelos integrantes nas entrevistas, estão sendo atendidos pelas ações do Grupo SAF Doceiro. Portanto, para a maioria agricultores, o Grupo possui a função de aprendizado, relacionamento, troca de mudas, além de aspectos ecológicos, principalmente para amenizar os períodos de seca. A inserção de novos agricultores, detentores do saber-fazer doceiro, bem como a divulgação do Grupo, devem estar dentre os incentivos do poder público, além de assistência técnica em todas as etapas para a produção e comercialização do produto agroflorestal. This study aimed to produce knowledge about the Grupo Sistema Agroflorestal Doceiro (SAF Doceiro), formed by farmers, technicians, researchers and agents of the SMDRTur de Morro Redondo, since there are few studies in this relation of sustainable agriculture and the preservation of cultural heritage. In view of the need for changes in conventional agricultural production, agroforestry systems, an aspect of agroecology, seek to confer autonomy, simultaneous cultivation, improvement in soil quality and economic return. With this, SAF Doceiro intends to safeguard the region's sweet tradition, recognized nationally by IPHAN, as an intangible cultural heritage, from fruits produced in agroecological ways, in agroforestry systems. In this sense, the study aimed to analyze the SAF Doceiro Group from the main aspects of participation and belonging to the Group. Participating observations were made during the Group's meetings and interviews were conducted with selected participants. For data analysis, content analysis was carried out, with field notes, from the participant observations and the interview transcripts. From this analysis, codes were extracted that originated categories, subcategories and themes, in which they are Territorial Development, Ecological Aspects and Sweet Tradition. The majority of farmers belong to the Group, among other factors, to learn about SAF and exchange knowledge, which refer to the theme Territorial Development. On the other hand, reports on the sweet tradition were scarcer among farmers and more prevalent among representatives of the institutions. In addition, the research showed that the aspects of belonging to the Group reported by the members in the interviews, are being attended to by the actions of the SAF Doceiro Group. Therefore, for the most of farmers, the Group has the function of learning, relating, exchanging seedlings, in addition to ecological aspects, mainly to mitigate drought periods. The insertion of new farmers, owners of the sweet know-how, as well as the disclosure of the Group, must be among the incentives of the public power, in addition to technical assistance in all stages for the production and commercialization of the agroforestry product.

This paper offers an approach to Yucatecan social reality in terms of entrepreneurship and the process of creating companies dedicated to the production and/or commercialization of agroecological products, considering its contribution to sustainable rural development. The key actors&rsquo, perspective towards the existence of policies that favor land sustainability, assist in the development of rural areas and their population, and support these business initiatives is also presented. Likewise, it illustrates the small entrepreneurs&rsquo, standpoint on the role of public institutions in promoting wealth generation and sustainable development in lower growth areas, such as the state of Yucatan, in Mexico. A qualitative methodology was used for this research, based on in-depth interviews with a group of businessmen and -women from the region. The main results give a pessimistic view of institutional concern regarding both production and consumption of agroecological products and, therefore, the promotion of these enterprises for the socioeconomic development of Yucatan. From these findings, we detect: (a) A policy of scarce support for this type of production, due to political priorities, (b) inadequate management that prevents the consolidation of certain structures needed to support agroecological enterprises, (c) a lack of confidence in the Yucatecan government, which does not promote or support a social network of collaboration between agroecological producers and marketers, (d) a difficulty in undertaking agroecological enterprises because of social and cultural norms and poor environmental awareness among the population, (e) significant training deficiencies among entrepreneurs in agroecological agriculture, (f) absence of adequate distribution channels for agroecological products, and (g) excessive bureaucratic obstacles through laws that hinder entrepreneurial processes.

Os procedimentos metodológicos compreenderam a realização de uma pesquisa exploratória e de campo. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, realizada no período de agosto a novembro de 2017, em visita aos dez lotes dos agricultores associados à APECOL, produtores de sementes de olerícolas, milho e feijão. Em maio de 2018, em cada área de produção e em duas áreas de vegetação nativa foram coletadas amostras de solo na camada de 0,00-0,20m para a determinação do pH do solo, dos teores dos macronutrientes, do teor de matéria orgânica, da textura, da espessura do horizonte A, dos organismos da mesofauna edáfica, da densidade do solo, da porosidade total, da macroporosidade e da microporosidade. Ao caracterizar os principais manejos do sistema solo-água-cobertura vegetal utilizados pelos agricultores assentados nas áreas de produção agroecológica de sementes identificou-se que, majoritariamente, os agricultores utilizam um manejo que baseia-se em manter a cobertura verde, com um planejamento da rotação de culturas, preparo do solo com grade aradora e cultivo de feijão e milho. Os indicadores de qualidade do solo mais facilmente percebidos pelos agricultores assentados foram àqueles relacionados às características morfológicas (profundidade do Hz A), químicas (teor de MO e nutrientes), biológicas (presença de organismos) e físicas (textura, densidade e porosidade). A avaliação dos diferentes indicadores físicos, químicos e biológicos do solo permitiu identificar, em geral, uma adequada qualidade dos solos das áreas cultivadas sob manejo agroecológico após um período de pelo menos 10 anos. Ao estabelecer as relações entre a qualidade do solo e o manejo do sistema solo-água-cobertura vegetal adotado pelos agricultores assentados associados à APECOL, verificou-se que estas se relacionaram positivamente, tendo em vista que na maioria das áreas analisadas os indicadores de qualidade do solo tiveram valores dentro dos limites aceitáveis. The objective of the study was to evaluate the soil quality carry out diagnosis using indicators built through the scientific knowledge integrated with the locally developed knowledge of the farmers in the certified areas of agroecological production in the Conquest of Freedom Settlement. The methodological procedures included exploratory and field research. The data were collected through a semistructured Interview, carried out from August to November 2017, during a visit to the ten lots of farmers associated with APECOL, producers of oilseed, corn and bean seeds. In May 2018, in each production area and in two native vegetation areas, soil samples were collected in the 0.00-0.20m layer to determine soil pH, macronutrient content, organic matter content, texture, horizon thickness, edaphic mesophyne organisms, soil density, total porosity, macroporosity and microporosity. In characterizing the main management of the soilwater- cover system used by the settled farmers in the areas of agroecological production of seeds, it was identified that, in the majority, farmers use a management that is based on maintaining the green cover, with a crop rotation planning, soil preparation with harrow and cultivation of beans and corn. The soil quality indicators more easily perceived by settled farmers were those related to the morphological (depth of Hz A), chemical (MO content and nutrients), biological (presence of organisms) and physical (texture, density and porosity) characteristics. The evaluation of the different physical, chemical and biological indicators of the soil allowed identifying, in general, an adequate soil quality cultivated in the areas under agroecological management after a period of at least 10 years. In establishing the relationships between soil quality and the management of the soil-water-cover system adopted by settled farmers associated with APECOL, it was verified that these were positively related, considering that in most of the analyzed areas the quality indicators of the soil had values within acceptable limits.

Multi-services cover crops (MSCC) grown during fallow period between two cash crops provide various ecosystem services. Among species used as MSCC, crucifers can efficiently prevent nitrate and sulphate leaching by catching residual soil mineral nitrogen (N) and sulphur (S) afterthe preceding cash crop (N and S catch crop services). Crucifers also have a unique capacity to suppress pathogens due to the biocidal hydrolysis products of endogenous secondary metabolites called glucosinolates (GSL). The aim of our study was to assess the provision of various ecosystem services linked to N, S cycles and biocontrol potential for a wide range of bispecific crucifer-legume mixtures in comparison to sole cover crops of legume and crucifer. We carried out experiments in 2 contrasted sites (Toulouse and Orléans regions, France) during 2 years in order to assess these services and the compatibility of various bi-specific crucifer-legume mixtures. We tested a great diversity of species, such as i) crucifers : rape, white mustard, Indian mustard, Ethiopian mustard, turnip, turnip rape, radish and rocket, and ii) legumes: Egyptian clover, crimson clover, common vetch, purple vetch, hairy vetch, pea, soya bean, faba bean, and white lupin. Our study demonstrated that crucifer-legume mixtures can provide and mutualize various ecosystem services by reaching from 2 thirds (GSL production, S and N green manure) to the same level ofservice (N and S catch crop) than the best sole family of species. GSL profile and concentration did not change in mixtures meaning that crucifer-pests interactions were identical. Through a literature review we also illustrated that biocontrol services of crucifers could be largely maintained in crucifer-legume mixtures for a wide range of pathogens and weeds while reducing potential disservices on beneficials and increasing N related service

Considerada um alimento funcional, ela pode ser utilizada no tratamento de doenças e melhora de condicionalidades clínicas. Este trabalho foi conduzido na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, no distrito de Alagoinha, zona rural de Mossoró-RN, no período de janeiro a fevereiro de 2017, com o objetivo de avaliar a viabilidade agronômica da rúcula, hortaliça funcional sob o efeito residual de espécies do bioma caatinga. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos completos ao acaso com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 5 x 3, com três repetições. O primeiro fator foi constituído por quatro quantidades de adubos verdes (0,0; 0,8; 1,6; 2,4; 3,2 kg/m2 em base seca) e segundo fator pelos tipos de adubos verdes (jitirana, flor-de-seda e mata-pasto). Inicialmente foi plantado rabanete nas parcelas de 1,4 x 1,4 m. Após a retirada da cultura, plantou-se a rúcula cultivar Cultivada. As características avaliadas foram: altura e número de folhas por planta, rendimento; número de molhos e massa da matéria seca da parte aérea. O melhor desempenho agronômico da rúcula foi observado na quantidade de 2,4 kg/m2, com rendimento de 902,3 g/m2 e 30 molhos de rúcula. Entre os tipos de adubos, a jitirana apresentou superioridade estatística em relação a flor-de-seda e mata-pasto para rendimento e número de molhos. É importante o incentivo ao cultivo da rúcula pois seus benefícios estão diretamente relacionados aos agricultores que produzem e também comercializam, e aos consumidores que adquirem essa hortaliça. Arugula is a nutritionally rich vegetable. Considered a functional food, it can be used to treat diseases and improve clinical conditions. This work was conducted at the Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, in the Alagoinha district, rural area of Mossoró-RN, from January to February 2017, with the objective of evaluating the agronomic viability of arugula, functional vegetable under the residual effect of species of the caatinga biome. The experimental design was the complete randomized blocks with treatments arranged in a 5 x 3 factorial scheme, with three replications. The first factor was constituted by four green fertilizer (0.0, 0.8, 1.6, 2.4, 3.2 kg/m2 dry basis) and second factor by the types of green fertilizers (jitirana, flor silk and grass). Initially radish was planted in plots of 1.4 x 1.4 m. After the crop was withdrawn, the arugula cultivated Cultivada was planted. The evaluated characteristics were: height and number of leaves per plant, yield; number of sauces and dry matter mass of the aerial part. The best agronomic performance of the arugula was observed in the amount of 2.4 kg/m2, with yield of 902.3 g/m2 and 30 arugula sauces. Among the types of fertilizers, jitirana presented statistical superiority in relation to silk flower and mattock for yield and number of sauces. The incentive for the cultivation of arugula is important because its benefits are directly related to the farmers who produce and commercialize, and the consumers who acquire this vegetable.

Este trabalho foi conduzido na fazenda experimental Rafael Fernandes, do Departamento de Ciências Vegetais da Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA), Mossoró-RN, no período de janeiro a fevereiro de 2016, objetivando-se avaliar o coentro cultivado em sistema orgânico de produção sob o efeito residual da adubação orgânica. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental em blocos completos casualizados com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 4 x 4, com três repetições, sendo o primeiro fator constituído pelas doses de esterco bovino (0,0; 3,0; 4,5 e 6,0 kg/m2), o segundo pelos períodos de incorporação ao solo (28, 49, 64 e 84 dias antes a semeadura - DAS). A cultivar de coentro plantada foi a Verdão. As características avaliadas foram: altura e número de hastes por planta, produtividade, número de molhos e massa seca de coentro. Não houve interação entre as características avaliadas para a cultura do coentro. A dose de 6,0 kg/m2 aos 28 dias de incorporação foi o que promoveu o maior efeito residual nas características avaliadas. O esterco bovino foi eficiente em promover efeito residual no cultivo do coentro. The residual effect of previous fertilization on subsequent crops is of the utmost importance, since fertilizing the soil in such intense activity as the olericulture would increase the cost of production whenever a new crop is implanted. This work was carried out in the experimental farm Rafael Fernandes, Department of Plant Sciences, Federal Rural Semi-Arid University (UFERSA), Mossoró-RN, from January to February 2016, with the objective of evaluating coriander grown in organic system under the residual effect of organic fertilization. The experimental design was a randomized complete block design with treatments arranged in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme, with three replications. The first factor was the bovine manure (0.0, 3.0, 4.5 and 6.0 kg/m2), the second by the soil incorporation periods (28, 49, 64 and 84 days before sowing - DAS). The planted coriander cultivar was Verdão. The evaluated characteristics were: height and number of stems per plant, productivity, number of sauces and dry mass of coriander. There was no interaction between the characteristics evaluated for the coriander culture. The dose of 6.0 kg/m2 at 28 days of incorporation was what prompted the greatest residual effect in the evaluated characteristics. Bovine manure was efficient in promoting residual effect in coriander cultivation.

O experimento foi conduzido no período de 12/07/2017 a 12/10/2017 na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, no distrito de Alagoinha, zona rural de Mossoró – RN, com o objetivo de avaliar a produtividade do coentro em função de diferentes quantidades e formas de aplicação do mata-pasto (Senna uniflora L.). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos completos casualizados com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 5 x 2, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos consistiram da combinação de cinco quantidades de mata-pasto (0,0; 1,2; 2,4; 3,6 e 4,8 kg m-2 em base seca), duas formas de aplicação da biomassa do mata-pasto (incorporado e em cobertura). A cultivar de coentro utilizada foi a “Verdão”. As características avaliadas foram as seguintes: altura de planta, número de hastes/planta, produtividade, número de molhos e massa seca. A maior eficiência agronômica foi obtida na quantidade de 3,6 kg/m2 de mata-pasto e forma de aplicação incorporado com produtividade e número de molhos de coentro da ordem de 1053,5 g/m2 e 21,4 unidades/m2, respectivamente. A leguminosa mata-pasto apresenta-se como viável para ser utilizado como adubo orgânico na produção de coentro. Green fertilization with spontaneous caatinga species is an alternative for small farmers in the semi-arid region. The experiment was conducted from 07/07/2017 to 10/12/2017 at the Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, in the Alagoinha district, rural area of Mossoró – RN, in order to evaluate the productivity of coriander in function of different amounts and forms of application of the wood-pasture (Senna uniflora L.). The experimental design used was in randomized complete blocks with treatments arranged in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, with four replications. The treatments consisted of the combination of five amounts of wood-pasture (0.0, 1.2, 2.4, 3.6 and 4.8 kg m-2 in dry basis) pasture (incorporated and covered). Cultivate of coriander used was the "Verdão". The evaluated characteristics were as follows: plant height, number of stems / plant, productivity, number of sauces and dry mass. The highest agronomic efficiency was obtained in the amount of 3.6 kg / m2 of pasture and the application form incorporated with productivity and number of coriander sauces in the order of 1053.5 g / m2 and 21.4 units / m2, respectively . The leguminous wood-pasture presents itself as viable to be used as organic fertilizer in the production of coriander.

Nesse sentido, objetivou-se avaliar doses de película de castanha de caju no desempenho agronômico do consórcio de hortelã com cenoura. O experimento foi conduzido em uma área experimental pertencente a uma universidade federal rural semi-árida, no período de setembro de 2016 a fevereiro de 2017. A área de estudo foi delineada em blocos ao acaso, dispostos em esquema fatorial 2 x 4, com três repetições. O primeiro fator foi constituído pelo cultivo solteiro e consorciado da hortelã e da cenoura, sendo o segundo fator pelas doses de película de castanha de caju (0,0; 1,5; 3,0 e 4,5 kg m-2 de canteiro). As características avaliadas para a cultura de hortelã foram: altura da biomassa, massa verde, número de cachos, massa seca, teor de óleo e rendimento de óleo. Para a cultura da cenoura foram avaliadas as seguintes características: altura da biomassa, comprimento das raízes, diâmetro das raízes, produtividade das raízes, massa seca das raízes, massa fresca e seca da parte aérea. O uso do resíduo da castanha de caju foi eficiente em promover aumento nas características produtivas do consórcio, com 40 unidades de molhos m2 de hortelã e rendimento de óleo de 133,57 g 100 m-2. Para a cultura da cenoura, foi observado rendimento comercial de 4852,6 g m-2 na dose de 4,5 kg m-2 de resíduo de castanha de caju. O consórcio mostrou-se eficiente com razão de área equivalente de 1,83. The intercropping of plants presents itself as one of the most appropriate methods for the practice of olericultura, in agroecological molds, with innumerable advantages in the environmental, productive and economic aspect. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate residue cashew nuts doses in the agronomic performance of the intercropping of mint with carrot. The experiment was conducted in an experimental area belonging to a semi-arid rural federal university, in the period from September 2016 to February 2017. The study area was designed in a randomized block, arranged in a 2 x 4 factorial scheme set up, with three replications. The first factor set up consisted of single crop and intercropping of mint and carrot, and the second was doses of cashew nut residue (0.0, 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 kg m-2).The evaluated characteristics for the mint crop these were biomass height, green mass, number of bunches, dry mass, oil content and yield oil. For the carrot crop, the following characteristics were evaluated: biomass height, root length, root diameter, root yield, root dry mass, green mass and dry of the area. The use of cashew nut residue was efficient in promoting increase in the productive characteristics of the intercropping, with 40 units of sauces m2 of mint and oil yield of 133.57 g 100 m-2. For the carrot crop, commercial yield of 4852.6 g m-2 at the 4.5 kg m-2 dose of cashew nut residue was observed. The intercropping proved to be efficient with equivalent area ratio of 1.83.

The experiment was carried out during a period of 91 days, from March 23 to June 21, 2016, in an agroecological production unit of olericultura, where 2 fallow pickets and 1 shed were used in Fazenda Arca de No?, in the municipality of Sapucaia in the State of Rio de Janeiro. An initial population of 130 day-old chicks of the Label Rouge lineage was evaluated. The initial 28 days were defined as the growth phase and the next phase until the 91 days of fattening phase. Initially the animals were housed in a shed (shelter) of 21 m? of total area, all animals being ratified with organic feed based on corn and soybean. In the fattening phase, the animals were raised in a semi-intensive and rotated regime, with daily access to 2 paddocks of 84 m? each, in fallow after the cultivation of olive groves, used alternately for grazing, and the diet was supplemented by feeding in the afternoon with organic feed. All animals were weighed weekly, with 14 weighings in total, 6 in the growth phase and 8 in the fattening phase. For the analysis of the performance of the animals, mortality, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, feed efficiency index and production cost were evaluated. During the experimental period, there was a total mortality of 19%, being: 5% in the growth phase and 14% in the fattening phase, reaching the age of slaughter 106 animals. The average body weight gain of the animals was 529.94 g per animal in the growth phase, and 1729 g in the fattening phase. The average feed intake was 1200 g and 6000 g, respectively, the growth and fattening phases, giving a feed conversion value of 2.4 and 3.5 and a mean of 2.95 kg per kg of body weight, and the productive efficiency index of 0.44 and 0.29 respectively for the two phases evaluated. The production cost per slaughtered chicken was U$ 12.12, the frozen caraway sold for an average value of US$ 13.55, obtaining an average revenue of US$ 1436.46, consequently a profit of US$ 146.88. International audience; In agroecosystems,biodiversity-supported regulating services include many ecological and social components interacting with each other; several guilds can be involved in the delivery of a single service, and a single guild can contribute to several services. Habitats on which guilds directly depend are managed by multiple stakeholders. Understanding dynamics, trade-offs, complementarities or even synergies between those services is a challenge in itself: in order to support the development of an agroecological production, is it possible to suggest agricultural management modalities that benefit several services or do social compromises need to be considered? In the latter case, at which spatiotemporal scale? The thesis aims to develop a spatial model of regulating services in agricultural landscapes over seasons and years, according to different scenarios of agricultural management. The approach consists in coupling 2 actions. First, a bibliographic analysis will be conducted on the effects of spatial and temporal habitat heterogeneity in agricultural landscapes on regulating services and their interactions (focusing on top-down and bottom-up biological controls and pollination). Second, a spatial modelling of regulating services will be implemented in the multi-agent platform MAELIA which simulates landscape dynamics. Furthermore, the study will benefit from data provided by the experimental evaluation of the crop fields' capacity to sustain the regulating services by supplying several resources to beneficial species (SEcoMod project).

Chacras, which are Amazonian agricultural systems, are examples of traditional agricultural management that are sustainable. They are also characteristic of the identities of different ethnographic groups in tropical America. However, information regarding the botanical characterization of chacras is scant. In tropical rural communities, there is a gender bias hypothesis that makes women potential reservoirs of traditional chacras plant knowledge. We present an experimental study in order to demonstrate if this knowledge difference really exists and to plan accordingly. We performed workshops in an isolated Kichwa community from Amazonian Ecuador. We calculated the cultural signififcance index (CSI) for 97 local flora plants. Our results revealed statistically significant differences. They were coherent with the Kichwa worldview and the structure of their society. We concluded that gender perspective must be taken into account in biodiversity conservation programs, such as, for example, those to implement the resilient agricultural practices of tropical contexts promoted by The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SGD2).

A produção de sementes, mudas e raças crioulas está presente na realidade das comunidades e dos grupos camponeses, garantindo a reprodução social e a continuidade das famílias no campo. É por meio dessas variedades que conhecimentos tradicionais são passados entre as gerações, o alimento consumido pelas famílias torna-se seguro e compatível com a realidade sociocultural da região, as atividades desenvolvidas tornam-se mais diversificadas e a agrobiodiversidade é preservada. Esta dissertação teve como objetivo principal conhecer a produção das variedades crioulas nas Comunidades Taquaral e Santana, em Orizona e Vianópolis, onde foram encontradas seis famílias produtoras de sementes crioulas. Por meio de visitas de campo, observação participante e relatos dos guardiões e guardiãs camponeses(sas) entrevistados(as), pode-se constatar que os locais de produção dos grupos camponeses possuem uma elevada diversidade de espécies, se comparadas aos modelos de produção agropecuária adotados na região e que as sementes crioulas contribuem para esse elevado número de espécies e variedades cultivadas. A identidade e autonomia proporcionadas aos guardiões das sementes crioulas através de seu manejo e uso trazem um sentido de empoderamento e singularidade aos grupos camponeses e a possibilidade de que sejam assistidos e reconhecidos pela sociedade. The production of seeds, seedlings and creole breeds is actually present in the communities and peasant groups ensuring their social reproduction and permanence of the families in the field. It is through these varieties that traditional knowledge is passed between the generations, the food consumed by the families becomes safe and compatible with the socio-cultural reality of the region, the activities developed become more diversified and agrobiodiversity is preserved. This dissertation had as main objective to know the production of the creole varieties in the Taquaral and Santana Communities, in Orizona and Vianópolis, where were found six families producing creole seeds. Through local visits, participant observation and reports of peasants guardians interviewed, we can see that production places of the peasant groups have a great diversity of species if compared to the models of agricultural production adopted in that region and creole seeds contribute to this number of cultivated varieties. The identity and autonomy provided to their guardians of the creole seeds through their handling and use bring a sense of empowerment and uniqueness to the peasant groups and a possibility that it assists and recognized by society. Para a cultura da hortelã utilizou-se a cultivar “Mentha piperita”. Para o coentro utilizou-se a cultivar “Verdão”. As características avaliadas para a cultura da hortelã foram as seguintes: altura da biomassa, massa fresca, número de molhos, massa seca, teor e rendimento de óleo. Para a cultura do coentro foram avaliadas as seguintes características: altura de planta, número de hastes planta-1, produtividade, número de molhos e massa seca. Também foram utilizados indicadores econômicos, tais como: razão de área equivalente (RAE), custo de produção, renda bruta, renda líquida, taxa de retorno e índice de lucratividade. A utilização de jitirana mais esterco bovino contribuiu para o aumento das características produtivas do consórcio nas duas épocas de cultivo, com número de molhos de hortelã de 17,6 e 5,8 nas doses de 3,0 e 2,2 kg m-2, respectivamente. Para a cultura do coentro, os valores foram de 16,5 e 15,3 molhos m-2 na dose de 3,0 kg m-2, respectivamente. A razão de área equivalente obtida nos dois experimentos foram de 1,72 e 1,78, respectivamente. A maior eficiência econômica do consórcio foi observada na primeira época de cultivo com a aplicação de 3,0 kg m-2 de jitirana mais esterco bovino em uma área de 100 m-2, com renda bruta de R$ 3.761,00; renda líquida de R$ 2.727,50; taxa de retorno de R$ 3,64 e índice de lucratividade de 72,52%. The intercropping of plants comes as one of the most suitable methods for the practice of olericulture, in agroecological molds, with innumerable advantages in the environmental, productive and economic aspect. Two experiments were conducted at the Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, in the Alagoinha district, rural area of Mossoró-RN, with the goal of evaluating the agroeconomic viability of the mint intercropping with coriander fertilized with jitirana plus bovine manure. The first experiment was conducted in the period from 08/11/2015 to 05/11/2015 and the second experiment was in the period of 11/27/2015 to 03/22/2016, in a randomized complete block design with the treatments arranged in 2x4 factorial scheme, with three replicates. The first factor consisted of single and intercropping of mint and coriander, and the second factor composed of the different doses of the jitirana mixture with bovine manure (0,0, 1,0, 2,0 and 3,0 kg m-2 of bed). The cultivar "Mentha piperita" was used for the mint crop. For the coriander the cultivar "Verdão" was used. The evaluated characteristics for the mint crop were the following: biomass height, fresh mass, number of bunches, dry mass, oil content and yield. For the coriander culture the following characteristics were evaluated: plant height, number of stems plant-1, productivity, number of bunches and dry mass. Economic indicators were also used, such as equivalent area ratio (RAE), cost of production, gross income, net income, rate of return and profitability index. The use of jitirana plus bovine manure contributed to the increase of the productive characteristics of the intercropping in the two growing seasons, with a number of mint bunches of 17.6 and 5.8 at 3.0 and 2.2 kg m-2, respectively. For the coriander culture, the values were 16.5 and 15.3 m-2 sauces at the dose of 3.0 kg m-2, respectively. The equivalent area ratio obtained in the two experiments was 1.72 and 1.78, respectively. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, no distrito de Alagoinha, zona rural de Mossoró-RN, com o objetivo de avaliar o cultivo orgânico da hortelã sob diferentes doses de jitirana e épocas de colheita. O primeiro experimento foi conduzido no período de 13/08/2015 a 09/12/2015, e o segundo no período de 09/11/2015 a 10/12/2015, no delineamento experimental de blocos completos casualizados com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 4 x 3, com três repetições. O primeiro fator foi constituído por quatro doses de jitirana (0,0; 0,5; 1,0 e 1,5 kg m-2 de canteiro em base seca) e o segundo fator, correspondendo a três épocas de colheita (30; 60 e 90 dias após o transplantio). Para a cultura da hortelã utilizou-se a cultivar “Mentha piperita”. As características avaliadas foram as seguintes: altura da biomassa, produção de biomassa, número de molhos, massa seca, teor e rendimento de óleo. Alguns indicadores econômicos foram observados, tais como: custo de produção, renda bruta, renda líquida, taxa de retorno e índice de lucratividade. Houve interação entre os fatores-tratamentos para o primeiro cultivo (produção, número de molhos e teor de óleo) e na rebrota da hortelã, nas características (rendimento e teor de óleo). No primeiro cultivo, houve acréscimo no número de molhos de hortelã em função dos fatorestratamentos com valores máximos de 1300; 3503 e 2651 unidades/100m2 nas épocas 30;60 e 90 dias, correspondendo as doses 1,3; 0,2 e 0,2 kg/m2, respectivamente. Na rebrota apresentou número médio de molhos de 2805 unidades/100 m2 (30 dias) e 2542 unidades/100 m2 (60 dias). A dose de 0 kg m2 de jitirana na época de colheita de 60 dias em primeiro cultivo, proporcionou rentabilidade liquida de R$ 3.458,00, taxa de retorno da ordem de R$ 3,26 e índice de lucratividade de 69,3%. Para a rebrota ocorreu rentabilidade liquida de R$ 2.753,00, taxa de retorno de 2,80 e índice de lucratividade de 64,2% na dose de 0 kg m-2 e época de colheita de 30 dias. The first experiment was conducted in the period from 08.11.2015 to 11.05.2015 and the second experiment in the period from 11.27.2015 to 22.03.2016, in a randomized complete block with treatments arranged in a 2x4 factorial design with three replications. The first factor consisted of monocropping and intercropping mint and coriander, and the second factor was the different doses of jitirana mixed with manure (0.0, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 kg m- 2 site). For mint culture was used to cultivate "Mentha piperita". For the coriander was used to cultivate "Verdão". The characteristics evaluated for the Mint culture were as follows: height of biomass, fresh weight, number of sauces, dry mass, oil content and yield. For the coriander crop the following characteristics were evaluated: plant height, number of stems plant-1, productivity, number of sauces and dry mass. Also economic indicators were used, such as land equivalent ratio (LER), cost of production, gross income, net income, rate of return and profitability index. The use of more manure jitirana cattle contributed to the increase of the productive characteristics of the consortium in the two growing seasons, with number of mint sauces 17.6 and 5.8 in 3.0 doses and 2.2 kg m-2 respectively. For coriander crop, the values were 16.5 and 15.3 m2 sauces in 3.0 kg dose m-2, respectively. The equivalent area obtained in the two experiments were 1.72 and 1.78, respectively. The greater economic efficiency of the consortium was observed in the first growing season with the application of 3.0 kg m-2 of more manure jitirana cattle in an area of 100 m2, with gross income of R $ 3,761.00; net income of R $ 2,727.50; return rate of R $ 3.64 and 72.52% profitability index.

Nesse sentido, objetivou-se avaliar diferentes quantidades e períodos de incorporação da palha de carnaúba no desempenho agroeconômico do coentro. O experimento foi conduzido na Fazenda Experimental Rafael Fernandes, no distrito de Alagoinha, zona rural de Mossoró-RN, no período de julho a outubro de 2014. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos completos casualizados, com os tratamentos arranjados em esquema fatorial 5 x 4, com três repetições. O primeiro fator foi constituído da combinação de cinco quantidades de palha de carnaúba (0,0; 1,5; 2,5; 3,5; e 4,5 kg m-2 de canteiro) e o segundo fator pelos períodos de incorporação (21; 42; 63; e 84 dias antes da semeadura). A cultivar de coentro utilizado foi a “Verdão”. As características avaliadas foram: altura da planta, número de hastes, massa verde, número de molhos e massa seca de coentro. Foram utilizados indicadores econômicos, tais como: renda bruta, renda líquida, taxa de retorno e índice de lucratividade. Houve interação significativa entre os fatores-tratamentos para massa verde, número de molhos e massa seca, com exceção para a altura de planta e número de hastes. O melhor desempenho agronômico foi observado na quantidade de 4,5 kg m-2 de palha de carnaúba com o número médio de molhos de 7,5; 8,0; 15,4 e 16,0 nos períodos de 21; 42; 63 e 84 dias antes a semeadura respectivamente. A maior eficiência econômica foi observada na quantidade de 4,5 kg m-2aos 84 dias de incorporação da palha de carnaúba, com valores médios de renda bruta de R$ 2.445,00; renda líquida de 1.840,00; taxa de retorno de R$ 3,00 e índice de lucratividade de 75,3%, para uma área de produção de 100 m2 de canteiro. In this sense, the objective was to evaluate different amounts and periods of incorporation of the carnauba straw in the agroeconomic performance of the coriander. The experiment was conducted at the Rafael Fernandes Experimental Farm, in the Alagoinha district, in the rural area of ​​Mossoró-RN, from July to October 2014. The highest economic efficiency was observed in the amount of 4.5 kg m-2 to the 84 days of incorporation of carnauba straw, with average gross income values ​​of R $ 2,445.00; net income of 1,840.00; rate of return of R $ 3.00 and profitability index of 75.3%, for a production area of ​​100 m2 of plot.

A maior eficiência econômica foi observada na quantidade de 3,2 kg m-2 de canteiro aos 47 dias de incorporação de palha de carnaúba misturada com esterco bovino, com valores médios de renda bruta de R$ 5.521,00 e 4.605,00; renda líquida de R$ 5.223,20 e 3.831,00; taxa de retorno de R$ 7,60 e 6,00 e índice de lucratividade de 88,50 e 86,00%, respectivamente, para uma área de produção de 100 m2 de canteiro. A utilização de palha de carnaúba misturada com esterco bovino proporcionou desempenho agroeconômico para a rúcula, portanto, constitui-se em alternativa viável para o produtor. The best agronomic performance was observed in the amount of 3.2 kg m-2 mixed carnauba straw bed with cattle manure, after 47 days of incorporation, with productivity of 1.7 and 1.5 kg m-2 construction site green mass of arugula, respectively. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of organic fertilizer levels (castor bean) coverage and blades irrigation applied by an automatic starter irrigation (AAI) in organic production of onion (Allium cepa L.). The experiment was conducted in the period June to October 2014 in Fazendinha Agroecol?gica 47 km (Integrated System Agroecological Production - ISAP), located between the coordinates 22?45` S and 43?41`W in the municipality of Serop?dica-RJ. The experimental design was a randomized complete block in a factorial scheme 4 x 3, with 12 treatments and 5 repetitions. The treatments were characterized by applying 4 irrigation levels (L1, L2, L3 and L4) and three doses of organic fertilizer: 300g / m?, 200 g / m? and lack of castor bean. The evaluated production variables were total productivity bulbs (TPB), fresh weight of bulbs (FWB), dry matter content of the bulbs (DMCB), dry matter productivity bulb (DMPB), average diameter bulbs (ADB); the bulbs were divided into seven cross-sectional diameter classes. It was also determined the total soluble solids (TSS) and efficiency of water use (EWU).The data were tabulated and submitted to analysis of variance and means were evaluated with the help of regression and Tukey test for the blade factor irrigation and fertilizer doses. The water depth factor significantly influence the values of TPB, FWB, DMPB and ADB ranging, respectively, 19.42 to 31.95Mg ha-1 of 61.12 to 83.30 g, the 1.73 2.59 t ha-1and the 4.52 to 5.13mm.The DMCB variables, TSS and the EWU were not affected by water depth, which showed values from 7.9 to 8.6%, from 14.6 to 16.7 ? BRIX and 83.1 to 105.5kg ha-1 mm-1.Organic fertilizer applied in coverage factor did not influence in any of the production variables, and this fact, as a result, possibly fertilization used in planting the seedlings and the high fertility of the soil level of the experimental area. We conclude that the organic cultivation of onion is promising in the environmental conditions of the Baixada Fluminense region and automation in micro-irrigation system is able to provide water content suitable soil along the onion crop cycle. O fator l?mina de irriga??o influenciou significativamente os valores da PTB, MMFB, PMSB e DMB que variaram, respectivamente, de 19,42 a 31,95 Mg ha-1, de 61,12 a 83,30 g, de 1,73 a 2,59 Mg ha-1 e de 4,52 a 5,13 mm. As vari?veis TMSB, TSST e EUA n?o foram influenciadas pela l?mina de irriga??o, as quais apresentaram valores de 7,9 a 8,6 %, de 14,6 a 16,7 ?BRIX e de 83,1 a 105,5 kg ha-1 mm-1. O fator adubo org?nico aplicado em cobertura n?o exerceu influ?ncia em nenhuma das vari?veis de produ??o, sendo esse fato, decorrente, possivelmente da aduba??o usada no plantio das mudas e pelo n?vel elevado fertilidade do solo da ?rea experimental.
