Prescribed burns are used to maintain wildland ecosystems and decrease fuel loads and associated wildfire hazard. Prescribed burns may produce enough smoke to cause adverse health outcomes. The aim of this review is to understand what communication materials exist for disseminating health risk information related to prescribed burn smoke and challenges to developing such communication. We examined United States peer-reviewed literature from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases and conducted an environmental scan of grey literature including materials from federal, and several US state and local governments, organisations, and newspapers. While 63% of the included peer-reviewed literature focuses on wildfire health risk communication, the review suggests similar methods and messages can be adapted for prescribed burns. The environmental scan review indicates effective strategies use several communication modes, and reliable and timely messaging. There are state regulations for prescribed burn notification, but these do not require communication or education of health risks associated with smoke exposure. Smoke management guidelines often contain information about prescribed burn health risks, but these do not discuss health risk education. Opportunities to expand effective health risk communication include improving inconsistent messaging and inter-agency collaborations, and increasing public interactions, especially with vulnerable populations. This review identifies current health risk communications for prescribed burn smoke exposure in the United States. While this review highlights several effective communication strategies, further research is needed to better understand prevention and intervention approaches and the efficacy of communication strategies to minimise health risks of prescribed burns. Radon is a known carcinogen, and the accurate assessment of indoor levels is essential for effective mitigation strategies. While long-term testing provides the most reliable data, short-term testing (STT) offers a quicker and more cost-effective alternative. This review evaluated the accuracy of STT in predicting annual radon averages and compared testing strategies in Europe (where long-term measurements are common) and the United States (where STT is prevalent). Twenty (20) studies were systematically identified through searches in scientific databases and the grey literature, focusing on STT accuracy and radon management. This review revealed several factors that influence the accuracy of STT. Most studies recommended a minimum four-day test for initial screening, but accuracy varied with radon levels. For low levels (<75 Bq/m3), a one-week STT achieved high confidence (>95%) in predicting annual averages. However, accuracy decreased for moderate levels (approximately 50% success rate), necessitating confirmation with longer testing periods (3 months). High radon levels made STT unsuitable due to significant fluctuations. Seasonality also played a role, with winter months providing a more representative picture of annual radon averages. STT was found to be a useful method for screening low-risk areas with low radon concentrations. However, its limitations were evident in moderate- and high-level scenarios. While a minimum of four days was recommended, longer testing periods (3 months or more) were crucial for achieving reliable results, particularly in areas with potential for elevated radon exposure. Cancer genomic services (CGS) can support genetic risk‐stratified cancer prevention and treatment. Racial/ethnic minority groups are less likely to access and utilize CGS compared with non‐Hispanic Whites. Little research has described characteristics of interventions targeted at CGS among Latinos. This scoping review aimed to (1) describe interventions promoting uptake of CGS among Latinos in the United States and Latin America, (2) describe intervention adaptations for Latino participants, and (3) summarize intervention implementation factors suggested by reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance (RE‐AIM) framework. We conducted a search in English and Spanish of literature published between 2005 and 2022 across PubMed and Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature databases. Sixteen of 2344 papers met the inclusion criteria of the analysis. Efforts to promote CGS among Latino communities were limited in the US and lower in Latin America. This review highlights the need for in‐depth exploration of acculturation‐informed interventions and better reporting on implementation factors to enhance their scalability across diverse settings. Background: Good communication is an important professional attribute for radiologists. However, explorations of communication education and their outcomes in radiology residents are sparse. This scoping review aims to evaluate the existing literature on communication education for radiology residents, identify gaps in current practices, and suggest directions for future studies. Methods: A scoping review following the six-step approach of Arksey and O'Malley was undertaken. We searched through PubMed, Embase, ERIC, and Web of Science databases, focusing on communication education in radiology residents. Results: Sixteen of the 3096 identified articles were included in the analysis. Most studies (13/16) originated from the United States. The studies varied in study design, including quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches. The sample sizes of most studies were small to moderate, with more than half of the studies had fewer than 30 participants. The identified studies predominantly focused on communication with patients and healthcare professionals. The need for communication education, the efficacy of specific communication education programs, and the capability of some assessment tools for evaluating residents' communication skills were investigated. Conclusions: This scoping review reveals the gap between the need for communication education and the lack of comprehensive education programs in radiology residents globally. Future studies should develop tailored interventions and use reliable assessment tools, engaging more participants with extended follow-up periods, and expand the scope of communication training to include all relevant stakeholders. This scoping review explores the potential of electronic health records (EHR)-based studies to characterize long COVID. We screened all peer-reviewed publications in the English language from PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases until 14 September 2023, to identify the studies that defined or characterized long COVID based on data sources that utilized EHR in the United States, regardless of study design. We identified only 17 articles meeting the inclusion criteria. Respiratory conditions were consistently significant in all studies, followed by poor well-being features (n = 14, 82%) and cardiovascular conditions (n = 12, 71%). Some articles (n = 7, 41%) used a long COVID-specific marker to define the study population, relying mainly on ICD-10 codes and clinical visits for post-COVID-19 conditions. Among studies exploring plausible long COVID (n = 10, 59%), the most common methods were RT-PCR and antigen tests. The time delay for EHR data extraction post-test varied, ranging from four weeks to more than three months; however, most studies considering plausible long COVID used a waiting period of 28 to 31 days. Our findings suggest a limited utilization of EHR-derived data sources in defining long COVID, with only 59% of these studies incorporating a validation step. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Lateral interbody fusion (LIF) is an increasingly popular minimally-invasive spine procedure. This study identifies notable trends in LIF literature and provides a detailed review of the bibliometric aspects of the top 100 most-cited articles. Methods: Articles were queried from the Web of Science database. Inclusion criteria consisted of peer-reviewed articles, full-text availability, and LIF focus. Network analysis including co-authorship mapping and bibliographic coupling were complemented by trend analysis to determine prominent contributors and themes. Analyses were conducted using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (RStudio). Results: There has been a rapid increase in LIF publication and citation count since 1998. Leading journals were Spine (n = 24), Journal of Neurosurgery Spine (n = 22), and European Spine Journal (n = 12). NuVasive funded the most publications (n = 17), followed by DePuy Synthes Spine (n = 4). The United States was the most represented country (n = 81); however, trend analysis suggests a steadily growing international contribution. The most prolific author was J.S. Uribe (n = 16), followed by a tie in second place by E. Dakwar and L. Pimenta (n = 8). The most frequent keywords, "complication" (n = 34), "surgery" (n = 30), and "outcomes" (n = 24), demonstrated a patient-centric theme. Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis provides in-depth insights into the evolution and trends of LIF over the last two decades. The trends and themes identified demonstrate the innovative, collaborative, and patient-focused characteristics of this subfield. BACKGROUND: With the continuous improvement and progress of the magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the field of the treatment of spinal deformities, numerous studies have been put into this field, but the main research status, hot spots, and development trends are not clear enough. OBJECTIVE: Based on bibliometrics, this paper discusses the quality and quantity of articles in the field of using magnetically controlled growing rods to treat spinal deformities from different countries, aiming to clarify the global development trend of magnetically controlled growing rods and evaluate the research productivity, research trends, and research hotspots in the world. METHODS: The articles published from 1998 to 2023 were retrieved mainly based on the Web of Science database. CiteSpace 5.8 and VOSviewer 1.6.19 software were used to analyze the data and generate a visual knowledge map. The following parameters were evaluated for all studies: the total number of published papers, centrality, h index, the contribution of countries, authors, and journals, and the trend and hot spots were explored through the analysis of co-citation, highly cited literature, and literature keyword explosion. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Finally, 138 articles were included. From 2009 to 2020, the number of published articles in this field gradually increased. The United States has the largest number of articles (53, 37.32%), and the United States has the highest h index and centrality of articles. (2) The results of keyword analysis showed that: the top ten keywords, such as early-onset scoliosis, surgery, complications, and so on, objectively and truly reflected the current situation and hot spots of magnetically controlled growing rod in the field of spinal deformity treatment. In recent years, the research focus in this field is the treatment failure caused by risk factors such as the pull-out of the magnetically controlled growing rod, implantation failure, and rod fracture, the accurate use of the corresponding medical classification, the monitoring and treatment of complications such as quality of life and cerebral palsy. (3) The co-citation results showed that: combined with the innovative and effective research of the magnetically controlled growing rod technology, the classification application of spinal deformity and the monitoring and treatment of related complications may be the research trend in this field. (4) Many highly cited articles further emphasized the therapeutic effect of magnetically controlled growing rod technology, providing an effective new idea and technical support for the field of spinal deformity correction. (5) The results of literature keyword explosion analysis demonstrate that the risk factors, medical classification, quality of life, and cerebral palsy of the application of magnetically controlled growing rods may become the research frontier in this field. (6) It can be seen that the application of magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the classification of spinal deformities and the in-depth study of related complications are the development trend in this field, but to further understand the effectiveness and safety of magnetically controlled growing rod technology in the treatment of spinal deformities, we still need long-term follow-up evidence. The overall research level of this field has steadily improved in recent years, but there are also problems such as the small number of high-quality articles and the unbalanced development of research in various regions. Objective of this narrative review was to assess current literature regarding acquisition and consolidation of physician practices in the United States (US). The acquisition and consolidation of physician practices is a trend affecting patient care, quality of services, healthcare economics and the daily practice of physicians. As practices are acquired by fellow physician groups, private equity investors and entities such as hospitals or large healthcare systems, it is important to better understand the underlying forces driving these transactions and their effects. This is a narrative review of peer-reviewed publications to determine what current literature has covered regarding the acquisition and consolidation of physician practices in the US regarding risks and benefits of this trend. Sources included the SCOPUS, Medline- PUBMED and Web of Science databases. Peer reviewed publications from 2009 to 2022 were included for initial review and curation for relevance using the search terms "physician" and "practice" with either "acquisition" or "consolidation". Synthesis conducted after narrowing down of relevant articles did not use quantitative measurements, but instead examined overall trends, as well as risk and benefits of ongoing acquisition and consolidation in a narrative format. Journal articles focused on physician consolidation in the US often reported increases in physician numbers with decreases in numbers of individual practices. Private equity quantitative analyses reported rapidly accelerating acquisitions driven by these investors, and vertical integration scholarly work reported frequent geographic consolidation of nearby practitioners. Risks associated with these transactions included such items as decreased physician autonomy and higher cost of care. Though currently considered a 'black box,' machine learning (ML) has a promising future to ameliorate the health-care burden of stroke which is the second leading cause of mortality worldwide. Through this study, we sought to review the most influential articles on the applications of ML in stroke. Web of Sciences database was searched, and a list of the top 50 most cited articles, assessing the application of ML in stroke, was prepared by 2 authors, independently. Subsequently, a detailed analysis was performed to characterize the most impactful studies. The total number of citations to the top 50 articles were 2959 (range 35–243 citations) with a median of 47 citations. Highest number of articles were published in the journal Stroke and the United States was the major contributing country. The majority of the studies focused on the utilization of ML to improve stroke risk prediction, diagnosis, and outcome prediction. Statistical analysis revealed an insignificant association between the total and mean number of citations and the impact factor of the journal (P = 0.516 and 0.987, respectively). Recent years have witnessed a surge in the application of ML in stroke, with an enhancement in interest and funding over the years. Summary: The escalating demand for ultra‐processed foods poses a growing concern due to its potential adverse effects on human health. This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of research and review articles investigating the intricate relationship between ultra‐processed foods and the gut microbiota. Employing rigorous search strategies across Scopus and Web of Science databases, we identified 211 English‐language articles. Utilising Biblioshiny and R‐tool Bibliometrix, we analysed publication and citation trends, prominent contributors, collaborative networks and influential journals. Our investigation reveals a consistent upward trajectory in both publications and citations over the past 42 years. Notably, the articles by Chassaing et al. (Nature, 519, 2015 and 92) and Thomas et al. (Frontiers in Microbiology, 2, 2011 and 93) stand out with the highest citation counts, highlighting their impact in research and review domains. The United States emerges as a key player, leading in both citations and productivity. 'Nutrients' emerges as a dominant journal in disseminating knowledge in this field. Importantly, our analysis extends beyond bibliometrics to glean insights into the actual impact of ultra‐processed foods on the gut microbiota. Synthesising findings from the reviewed articles, we observe a nuanced relationship between ultra‐processed food consumption and alterations in the gut microbiota composition. While the specific 'dry' impact remains a focal point, our results underscore the need for targeted research to elucidate the molecular and functional implications of these dietary patterns on gut microbial communities. This 42‐year bibliometric journey underscores the increasing awareness and concern surrounding the impact of ultra‐processed foods on the gut microbiota. The rising trend in publications and citations, coupled with our nuanced insights, emphasises the continued significance of this field. Carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) are widely used, which has caused huge pressure on the ecological environment, especially human health. It is necessary to have a detailed understanding and real-time tracking of the current research progress and hot spots on the toxicity of carbon nanomaterials, so as to provide guidance for researchers in this field to carry out new research. In this paper, CiteSpace software was used to perform bibliometric and visual analysis of all publications related to the toxicity of carbon nanomaterials in the Web of Science database. The results show that the number of annual articles has increased significantly since 2004, and 83.1% of the articles were published in the last decade (2013–2022). China has the largest number of publications, while the United States plays an authoritative role in this field. ACS Appl Material Inter is the most published journal, and ACS Nano is the most cited journal. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dayong Wang were the institutions and authors with the largest number of papers, respectively. The toxicity and mechanism of CNMs (such as oxidative stress, cell death, and cell membrane damage) and their applications in biomedicine, material synthesis, and sensors, etc., are the research hot topics in this field. The comprehensive risk assessment and safe utilization of CNMs may be an urgent problem to be solved currently. Our findings present the hot topics and development trends in the field of carbon nanomaterials toxicity, which would be helpful to provide a reference for future research directions. Background: Relapsing polychondritis (RP) is an inflammatory disease with significant individual heterogeneity that involves systemic cartilage tissues. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of RP-related publications to quantitatively assess the scholarly productivity in the field. Methods: We extracted the RP-related original research articles and reviews published during 1960–2023 from the Web of Science database by using the keyword "relapsing polychondritis." By using R, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and SCImago Graphica, the bibliometric analysis was performed on the retrieved publications. Results: A total of 1096 articles, consisting of 909 original research articles and 187 reviews, were identified. A mean annual growth rate of 6.71% was found in the number of RP-related publications during 1960–2022. The United States accounted for the highest number of publications (21.9%), exhibited the highest mean citation number per publication (40.7), and engaged in the most frequent academic collaboration. Three clusters of RP-related journals were identified: 1) otology, rhinology, and laryngology; 2) respiratory and radiology medicine; and 3) rheumatology. Journals with a focus on rheumatology issued the most publications, and most of the RP-related publications were from The Journal of Rheumatology (n = 27). Most of these publications were co-authored by Dr. Jean-Charles Piette (n = 19), who also had the highest H-index (13) among all the authors. The co-citation network analysis revealed 11 highly connected clusters of RP research and indicated the "VEXAS Syndrome" as a hotspot. Conclusion: This overview of the RP research field comprehensively describes the progress in the field. The number of publications on RP has progressively increased but remains insufficient. The United States and European countries are at the forefront of RP-related research, and the journals related to rheumatology have covered the majority of publications. Additionally, several key topics for future investigations, such as "VEXAS Syndrome," have been identified. Objective: The aim of this study is to scope the literature on what is currently known between physical activity and presenteeism. Data Source: A search strategy was conducting in six scientific databases. Study Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria: Studies written in English about the relation between physical activity and presenteeism were considered for inclusion. Data Extraction: Data on definitions and measurement of presenteeism and physical activity were extracted. Data Synthesis: The data is categorized according to the understanding of presenteeism of the studies to give a better idea of how this phenomenon is studied in relation to physical activity. Results: After screening 9773 titles and abstracts and 269 full-text articles, 57 unique articles fulfilled our eligibility criteria. The majority of the articles were published since 2010 and originated predominantly in the United States. Most studies (70%) define presenteeism as lost productivity due to health problems, according to the American line of research, whereas 19% of the studies define it as "working while ill" which refers to the European line of research. The studies that reflected the American school of thought tends to report more results that supported their hypothesis (i.e., that more physical activity is associated with less presenteeism). Conclusion: This review has highlighted the homogeneity in how presenteeism is conceptualized and measured in studies included in our sample. Research on physical activity and presenteeism should be expanded across various disciplines in social sciences to respond to the needs that many researchers have expressed to promote healthier organizations. Glaucoma is similar to a neurodegenerative disorder and leads to global irreversible loss of vision. Despite extensive research, the pathophysiological mechanisms of glaucoma remain unclear, and no complete cure has yet been identified for glaucoma. Recent studies have shown that microRNAs can serve as diagnostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets for glaucoma; however, there are few bibliometric studies that focus on using microRNAs in glaucoma research. Here, we have adopted a bibliometric analysis in the field of microRNAs in glaucoma research to manifest the current tendencies and research hotspots and to present a visual map of the past and emerging tendencies in this field. In this study, we retrieved publications in the Web of Science database that centered on this field between 2007 and 2022. Next, we used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Scimago Graphica, and Microsoft Excel to present visual representations of a co-occurrence analysis, co-citation analysis, tendencies, hotspots, and the contributions of authors, institutions, journals, and countries/regions. The United States was the main contributor. Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science has published the most articles in this field. Over the past 15 years, there has been exponential growth in the number of publications and citations in this field across various countries, organizations, and authors. Thus, this study illustrates the current trends, hotspots, and emerging frontiers and provides new insight and guidance for searching for new diagnostic biomarkers and clinical trials for glaucoma in the future. Exploring the international research status, hotspots and future development trend of quantum computing is significant for China's strategic deployment and technological planning. The literature related to quantum computing collected in the Web of Science database from 2007 to 2021 is taken as the research object. Based on bibliometric and content analysis methods, text mining and visualization analysis tools are used to explore the research status in this field from the dimensions of publication trend, major countries, institutions, researchers, hotspots, and development trends. Studies have shown that: quantum computing literature presents an increasing trend year by year; the United States ranks first in literature number and citations per article, and has strong scientific research strength; China has a group of influential institutions and scholars in this field, but the cooperation intensity between institutions is low; research hotspots are distributed in quantum algorithms, quantum computing models, the physical realization of quantum computers and the application of quantum computing; research frontiers focus on quantum computing model and the application in artificial intelligence, cryptanalysis and other fields. Retraction is a mechanism for eliminating and correcting serious problems in the scientific literature and increasing awareness among members of the scientific community about unreliable literature. The objectives of this study were to identify the characteristics and reasons for retraction, analyze citations, and describe the scientific, altmetrics, and technological impacts of hematology retracted papers. Retracted papers were searched using the hematology category of the Web of Science database. The search yielded 101 retracted papers in WoS. Statistics methods such as frequency, mean, interquartile range (IQR), and Pearson's Correlation were used for data analysis. The findings showed the retracted papers were published in 28 different hematology journals. The majority of retracted documents were in Article type (n = 81). The mean time interval of the retracted papers from the first publication to retraction was 50.83 months. The largest number of retracted papers belonged to the United States (n = 46). The most frequently reported reason for retraction was misconduct (n = 55). The findings of this study provide a landscape into the characteristics and citations of retracted papers before and after retraction in addition to the scientific, technological, and altmetrics impacts of hematology retracted papers in the scientific community. Purpose: To examine a series of papers from top ranked orthopaedic journals with respect to the number of citations over a 10-year observation period to identify factors that lead to high citation rates. Methods: The Web of Science database was consulted to identify all published papers from the first-year term of 2010 (January-May) from four top orthopaedic journals: AJSM, Arthroscopy, JBJS Am and KSSTA. The database was used to analyze and compare the papers with respect to their characteristics and citations up to 2019. Basic information for each paper was collected including the author, country, study type and average citations per year (ACY). The most (Top20%) and least (Bottom20%) frequently cited papers were identified and differences were extracted. Results: Five hundred sixteen papers were included with a total of 19,261 citations. Most of the published papers were from the United States (n = 245). On average, a paper received 37.3 citations over the 10-year observation period. The most cited paper was cited 322 times. The most cited study type was randomized controlled trial (RCT) (Ø80.8). The Top20% papers were cited 37 times more often than the Bottom20%. Among the Top20%, the largest group was cohort study (n = 20) followed by case series (n = 19). Among others, the number of authors, the number of keywords and the number of references significantly correlated with the number of citations (p < 0.001). The authors of this systematic review examined service utilization and outcomes among youths from ethnoracially minoritized groups after the youths initiated treatment for a psychotic disorder—that is, the youths' "pathway through care." Also examined were potential moderating variables in pathways through care for these youths at the clinic, family, and cultural levels. The goal was to describe methodologies, summarize relevant findings, highlight knowledge gaps, and propose future research on pathways through care for young persons from ethnoracially minoritized groups who experience early psychosis. The PubMed, PsycInfo, and Web of Science literature databases were systematically searched for studies published between January 1, 2010, and June 1, 2021. Included articles were from the United States and focused on young people after they initiated treatment for early psychosis. Eighteen studies met inclusion criteria. Sixteen of the 18 studies were published in the past 5 years, and 11 had an explicit focus on race and ethnicity as defined by the studies' authors. Studies varied in terminology, outcomes measures, methodologies, and depth of analysis. Being an individual from an ethnoracially minoritized group appeared to affect care utilization and outcomes. Insufficient research was found about potential moderating variables at the clinic, family, and cultural levels. Many species of plants and animals thrive in urban habitats and stand to gain from the global trend in increased urbanization. One such species, the Red-crowned Parrot (Amazona viridigenalis), is endangered within its native range but seems to thrive in urban landscapes. While populations of endangered synanthropic species may be uncommon, they can act as genetic reservoirs and present us with unique conservation and research opportunities. We sought to determine the red-crowned parrot's level of dependency on urban areas, as well as the climatic and anthropogenic drivers of their distribution throughout the United States. We built national level species distribution models for the USA using Maxent and correlated presence points derived from field work and citizen science databases to environmental variables for three Red-crowned Parrot populations: two naturalized (California and Florida) and one native (Texas). We found current occupancy to be 18,965 km2 throughout the three states. These three states also contained 39,429 km2 of high- and medium-quality habitats, which, if occupied, would represent a substantial increase in the species range. Suitable habitat showed a strong positive correlation with urbanization in areas where average monthly temperatures were at least 5 °C. The current and predicted distributions of Red-crowned Parrots were closely aligned with urban boundaries. We expected populations of Red-crowned Parrots and other synanthropic species to grow due to a combination of factors, namely, continued urbanization and the effects of climate change, which increase the size and connectivity of a suitable habitat. Objectives: The aim of this bibliometric analysis was twofold: to identify the 100 most cited research articles on thymoma and to highlight future research opportunities in light of past and current research efforts. Methods: The Web of Science database was queried to identify the 100 most cited articles on thymoma. Imformations relevant to scientific research were extracted and analyzed: first author, journal, impact factor, type of article, year of publication, country, organization and keywords. Results: The publication year of the top 100 most cited articles ranged from 1981 to 2018, and the number of citations ranged from 97 to 1182. Most of the included articles are original (75/100) and are mainly retrospective studies (52/75). The United States has the most published articles and citations, and the Annals of Thoracic Surgery is the most sourced journal (n = 16). Through VOSviewer analysis, high-density keywords mainly come from thymic carcinoma/invasive thymoma management, immune-related diseases, and laboratory research. Conclusions: To our knowledge, this is the first bibliometric study on thymoma. We found most of the top 100 most cited articles are original and retrospective research. The United States has the published and cited works. Presently, the hot keywords for thymoma research has gradually tilted towards immune-related diseases and laboratory research. Bibliometric analysis allows the analysis and evaluation of scientific studies by different methods. This study aims to present an overview of the "Accounting Standards" literature in the journals indexed on the Web of Science. This subject area is scanned in 1851 publications within the "Business-Finance" category on June 25, 2021. R-Studio program is used in the analysis and this study contributes by applying bibliometric analysis to articles published in these fields since 1970. This study compares attributes (authors, journals, populations, theories, methods) of information seeking behavior studies based in the United States and India, based on a search of published articles from 2011 to 2020 in relevant information science databases. The findings indicate major differences in information behavior research among the two countries. Information behavior research in the United States tends to focus more on health and medicine-related research populations, employ greater use of information behavior theories, and use a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods (as well as mixed methods). Information behavior research in India tends to focus more on general populations, use less theory, and rely heavily on quantitative research methods—particularly questionnaires (88% of studies). These findings suggest a healthy and intellectually-diverse information behavior research area in the United States and ample room for growth of the research area within India. Aims: To explore the research hot topics and main contents in the field of the influence of mental fatigue on athletic performance, and to provide new ideas and directions for future research in this field. Methods: Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer visualization tool software core collection of Web of Science database to TS = (“mental fatigue” OR “mental exertion” OR “cognitive fatigue” OR “Cognitive exertion” OR “mental exhaustion” OR “mental tiredness”) AND (“athletic performance” OR “technical skill*” OR “Skill*” OR “technique” OR “decision making” OR “performance”) AND (“Humans”) searched for the influence of mental fatigue on athletic performance from 2001 to 2021 to conduct visual analysis. Research hot topics were analyzed from the aspects of high-impact countries/regions, institutions, authors, high-frequency keywords, and mutation terms. Results: A total of 658 publications were identified finally, and there has been an increasing trend in the annual number of publications, with the United States ranking first in the number of publications and influence. Future research will focus on promoting the application of EEG technology as an objective indicator for assessing mental fatigue, exploring effective methods and measures for pharmacological or non-pharmacological interventions against fatigue, and focusing on the effects of mental fatigue on endurance performance, technical skills, and sports-related decision-making. The main purpose of this study is to identify the trends in predatory publishing and to compile a core reading list of documents on the topic of 'predatory journals.' The study examined 541 documents on the topic of 'predatory journals' indexed in the Web of Science database published between 2012 and 2021. The data set was analyzed quantitatively (bibliometric study) and qualitatively (document classification). For bibliometric analysis, parameters like year, disciplines, number of citations, countries, document types, and journals were used. The documents were classified into four groups, namely, General (326), Empirical Studies (89), Technical Specifics (71), and Cautionary Texts (55). The results of the analysis and co-relation between quantitative and qualitative parameters reveal that publications in medical sciences (221) form the majority in almost all groups. There is a steady growth in publications in all groups during 2018 and 2019. Research papers and editorial materials are greater in number. The largest number of documents are from the United States (163 documents). A large number of papers have been published in the journals Scientometrics (22) and Learned Publishing (28). The most highly cited (17) papers have been published in Nature. The core reading list of forty documents on predatory journals is the outcome of the study after examining the co-relationship between the two methods. Coporate volutering has been highlighted in academic and practional business literature. This article prepared a bibliometric analysis related to corporate volunteering in the Web of Science database. Articles from the beginning of the database until 2019 were analyzed and the VOSviewer software was used to determine the areas of emphasis for researchers, the language of publication of this research, the trend in the number of publications from year to year, the most relevant journals for publication and the most cited authors. The study revealed that 97.08% of the articles are in English, with 29.7% being produced in the United States. The research provides guidance for those who wish to produce research on organizational performance, pointing to the most prominent researchers and resources on the subject. Community gardens offer broad research opportunities and analytical resources encompassing urban planning to environmental sustainability, food systems, and social capital. However, little is known about the knowledge structure and research development related to community gardens. This study presents an in-depth bibliometric performance analysis and visual scientific mapping analysis of the literature on community gardens by examining 487 published papers selected from the Web of Science database. The results indicated a considerable rise in research papers in this subject area from 2012 onwards, with most contributions from the United States. Studies from high-income countries accounted for 93.22%, and 38 countries have cooperated 167 times in this field. "Health" is the most frequent keyword, and the terms "ecosystem services" has been gaining popularity over the last five years. A combination of co-citation clustering and keyword co-occurrence clustering analysis identified three major research themes in the field of community gardens: "ecosystem services and disservices", "multidimensional association", and "sustainable garden systems". The development of ecosystem value assessment frameworks, the establishment of region-wide soil monitoring databases, accounting for the cost-effectiveness of nature-based solutions, the integration of garden systems into smart cities, and the integration of water management into regulation will be important future research directions regarding community gardens. The formation of an academic field is evidenced by many factors, including the growth of relevant research articles and the increasing impact of highly cited publications. Building upon recent scoping reviews of journal publications in STEM education, this study aimed to provide a systematic review of high impact empirical studies in STEM education to gain insights into the development of STEM education research paradigms. Through a search of the Web of Science core database, we identified the top 100 most-cited empirical studies focusing on STEM education that were published in journals from 2000 to 2021 and examined them in terms of various aspects, including the journals where they were published, disciplinary content coverage, research topics and methods, and authorship's nationality/region and profession. The results show that STEM education continues to gain more exposure and varied disciplinary content with an increasing number of high impact empirical studies published in journals in various STEM disciplines. High impact research articles were mainly authored by researchers in the West, especially the United States, and indicate possible "hot" topics within the broader field of STEM education. Our analysis also revealed the increased participation and contributions from researchers in diverse fields who are working to formulate research agendas in STEM education and the nature of STEM education scholarship. Stroke is a significant disability and death cause worldwide and is conventionally defined as a neurological impairment relating to the intense focal harm of the central nervous system (CNS) by vascular causative components. Although the applicability of robotic rehabilitation is a topic with considerable practical significance because it has produced noticeably higher improvements in motor function than regular (physical and occupational) therapy and exempted the therapists, most of the existing bibliometric papers were not focused on stroke survivors. Additionally, a modular system is designed by joining several medical end-effector devices to a single limb segment, which addresses the issue of potentially dangerous pathological compensatory motions. Searching the Web of Science database, 31,930 papers were identified, and using the VOSviewer software and science mapping technology, data were extracted on the most prolific countries, the connections between them, the most valuable journals according to certain factors, their average year of publication, the most influential papers, and the most relevant topical issues (bubble map of term occurrence). The most prolific country in the analyzed field and over the entire period evaluated (1975–2022) is the United States, and the most prolific journal is Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair, observing a marked increase in the three periods of scientific interest for this field. The present paper assesses numerous scientific publications to provide, through statistical interpretation of the data, a detailed description of the use of robotic rehabilitation in stroke survivors. The findings may aid scientists, academics, and clinicians in establishing precise goals in the optimization of the management of stroke survivors via robotic rehabilitation, but also through easier access to scientifically validated literature. The purpose of this study is to identify and characterize the state of social construction of learning in virtual communities within online learning environments and to identify the advances and research challenges of social learning. The method was a systematic mapping to analyze the evidence published on the topic in 2015-2020. We automatically searched the Scopus and Web of Science databases, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria to obtain the maximum relevant information. The pre-designed search strategy resulted in 187 articles. The main research topic addressed in most of these is learning as a social construction in training contexts, primarily virtual communities. In higher education, the United States is the country with the most active researchers on this topic. In addition, the most significant findings show that in a virtual learning community, social and cognitive interactions with teaching presence are crucial for students to build knowledge and achieve a higher level of learning. Background: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relentlessly progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting the motor neurons. Although much research has been conducted in this field, few bibliometric studies have been conducted. This study aimed to provide an overview of publishing characteristics and trends in ALS research since 2000 using a bibliometric analysis. Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature search in the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection database for scientific output related to ALS from 2000 to 2022. The retrieved dataset was refined using Google OpenRefine and analyzed using bibliometrix. Results: A total of 29,391 articles published since 2000 were retrieved, with an average annual growth rate of 6.35%. Ninety-six countries and regions contributed to ALS research, among which the United States had the dominant position with the highest number of publications (n = 8,202) and citations (n = 558,561). An association analysis was performed to form networks of country collaboration and keyword cooccurrence. The evolution of topic trends was demonstrated in terms of both frequency and proportion. Conclusion: The output of ALS research has increased steadily over the years, and the United States and Western Europe are leaders in this field. The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) (the largest all-payer inpatient database in the United States) is an important instrument for big data analysis of neurosurgical inquiries. However, earlier research has determined that many NIS studies are limited by common methodological pitfalls. In this study, we provide the first primer of NIS methodological procedures in the setting of neurosurgical research and review all reported neurosurgical studies using the NIS. We designed a protocol for neurosurgical big data research using the NIS, based on our subject matter expertise, NIS documentation, and input and verification from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project. We subsequently used a comprehensive search strategy to identify all neurosurgical studies using the NIS in the PubMed and MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science databases from inception to August 2021. Studies underwent qualitative categorization (years of NIS studied, neurosurgical subspecialty, age group, and thematic focus of study objective) and analysis of longitudinal trends. We identified a canonical, 4-step protocol for NIS analysis: study population selection; defining additional clinical variables; identification and coding of outcomes; and statistical analysis. Methodological nuances discussed include identifying neurosurgery-specific admissions, addressing missing data, calculating additional severity and hospital-specific metrics, coding perioperative complications, and applying survey weights to make nationwide estimates. Inherent database limitations and common pitfalls of NIS studies discussed include lack of disease process–specific variables and data after the index admission, inability to calculate certain hospital-specific variables after 2011, performing state-level analyses, conflating hospitalization charges and costs, and not following proper statistical methodology for performing survey-weighted regression. In a systematic review, we identified 647 neurosurgical studies using the NIS. Although almost 60% of studies were reported after 2015, <10% of studies analyzed NIS data after 2015. The average sample size of studies was 507,352 patients (standard deviation = 2,739,900). Most studies analyzed cranial procedures (58.1%) and adults (68.1%). The most prevalent topic areas analyzed were surgical outcome trends (35.7%) and health policy and economics (17.8%), whereas patient disparities (9.4%) and surgeon or hospital volume (6.6%) were the least studied. We present a standardized methodology to analyze the NIS, systematically review the state of the NIS neurosurgical literature, suggest potential future directions for neurosurgical big data inquiries, and outline recommendations to improve the design of future neurosurgical data instruments. Gliomas are the most common primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system. At the present time, radiotherapy (RT) is the cornerstone of therapeutic approaches, but the worldwide research trends in RT for gliomas in the world are unclear. This bibliometric analysis aimed to investigate trends in glioma RT research since 2011. The Web of Science database was searched, and SigmaPlot 14.0 and VOSviewer software were used to analyze and visualize the trends. Bibliometric analysis of 5106 articles was conducted. While the number of publications per year was relatively steady, the number of citations grew exponentially from 356 in 2011 to 21,051 in 2020. Articles originated from 89 countries, with the majority from the United States. Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Texas A&M University were the journal and institution, respectively, with the highest number of publications. The articles mainly involved oncology, neurology, radiology, and surgery. This bibliometric analysis found an increased focus on glioblastoma, survival, and chemotherapy in glioma RT research. Introduction: Massage therapy is a popular form of alternative medicine that has been used for centuries to alleviate muscle soreness and promote relaxation. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in understanding the scientific basis behind the effectiveness of massage in managing muscle soreness. This bibliometric research aims to explore relations of massage on muscle soreness trends over time. Method: This research employs descriptive bibliometrics to gather scientific production data from the Scopus and Web of Science online databases. The analysis was conducted using Scientopy and VoSviewer. A query string, specifically “massage” AND (“muscle soreness” OR “muscle pain”), was employed, resulting of 526 papers. After eliminating 159 papers, a total of 367 papers were selected for comprehensive examination in this study. Results: Over the span of 46 years, the publication output was reached in 2020 with 32 published papers. The most cited paper, published in 2003 was 888 citations. The United States emerged as the predominant contributor with 88 publications and 2,752 citations, surpassing other countries. A comprehensive examination of 1,997 keywords with a minimum co-occurrence of 20 revealed 35 keywords meeting the established threshold. Overlay visualization indicated an evolutionary pattern between 2010 and 2020, highlighting shifts in research focus. Towards the end of 2020, there was a surge in interest regarding the reliability and effectiveness of sports massage, cold-water immersion, and self-myofascial release in improving muscle soreness, motion, and flexibility. The analysis conducted indicates a consistent global increase in contributions to the understanding of the relationship between massage and muscle soreness. However, a notable decline in interest suggests a potential shift towards investigating other factors associated with massage. Conclusion: The findings underscore the need for ongoing investigation and exploration to comprehensively understand the evolving dynamics of the relationship between massage and muscle soreness. Nearly six million people residing in the United States do not have access to safely managed sanitation. Housed populations may lack access to centralized wastewater treatment systems or functioning onsite wastewater treatment systems, which subsequently places them at higher risk for adverse health outcomes associated with unsafe sanitation. We sought to understand the various social barriers that impact access to safe sanitation in the United States. We included peer-reviewed studies published between January 2000 and March 2023. The publication search was conducted using Scopus, ProQuest Social Science Database, and HeinOnline. We extracted data on social barriers and physical factors associated with access to sanitation. Twenty publications met the inclusion criteria, and data relating to 11 social barriers and two physical factors were extracted. The social barriers to safe sanitation access mentioned most frequently were found to be socioeconomic status and race-based discrimination. Studies discussed sanitation in communities in five states. Barriers pertained to lack of access to centralized wastewater treatment system, inadequate repair or replacement of septic systems, and lack of safely managed onsite sanitation systems. We discuss the intersectionality of the barriers, the underlying policy and history that leads to them, and make recommendations to address inequitable access to safe sanitation. Legislation and policy must be critically reviewed at national, state, and local levels to limit or eliminate ability for utilities to be extended on the basis of a community's income and property values or racial makeup. Policy recommendations also include additional community engagement, onsite sanitation system monitoring, and knowledge dissemination and education of septic system users. More geographically diverse research and research on sanitation in specific communities such as those of migrant farmworkers, undocumented persons, and tenants are recommended. Background: Ketamine is an intravenous anesthetic with analgesic effects that has a rapid onset and short duration of action. Many studies have been conducted on the use of ketamine; however, the quantity and quality of such studies have not been reported. Therefore, we aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of research on ketamine from 2001 to 2020. Methods: We used the Web of Science database to get publications on ketamine from January 2001 to December 2020. Various bibliographic information was collected, including the number of publications, year of publication, country of origin, journal name, research hotspots, citation count, and author information. Results: A total of 5,192 articles were included in the analysis. The United States published the highest number of papers on ketamine and the United States participated in publishing the most papers and disclosure funds. The types of articles in clinical trials were cited more frequently. Most articles on ketamine were published in the journal Anesthesia and Analgesia. Furthermore, the antidepressant effect of ketamine has been a research hotspot for the last 20 years. Recent estimates suggest that more than 70-million relevant CT scans are performed annually in the United States; thus, IAMs represent a significant clinical entity. Most clinical guidelines recommend an initial follow-up evaluation that includes imaging and biochemical testing after index IAM detection. Systematic review of literature in the PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science databases to determine whether guidelines regarding IAM evaluation are followed and to identify effective management strategies. Our initial search was in January 2018 and updated in November, 2019. 31 studies met inclusion criteria. In most institutions, only a minority of patients with IAMs undergo initial follow-up imaging (median 34%, IQR 20%-50%) or biochemical testing (median 18%, IQR 15%-28%). 2 interventions shown to improve IAM evaluation are IAM-specific recommendations in radiology reports and dedicated multi-disciplinary teams. Interventions focused solely on alerting the ordering clinician or primary care provider to the presence of an IAM have not demonstrated effectiveness. Patients who are referred to an endocrinologist are more likely to have a complete IAM evaluation, but few are referred. Most patients with an IAM do not have an initial evaluation. The radiology report has been identified as a key component in determining whether IAMs are evaluated appropriately. Care teams dedicated to management of incidental radiographic findings also improve IAM follow-up. It was purposed in this study to reveal the trend in the relevant field by making a bibliometric evaluation of the educational research articles published on botanic gardens, national parks, and natural monuments in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Within the scope of quantitative methodology, the bibliometrics was applied in the study. The data were taken from the WoS database generated by Clarivate Analytics. The study data covered the years between 1975 and 2020. Bibliometric analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the data. 44,138 records related to the study subject were obtained in the WoS database, and 98 of them were determined in the category of educational research. Analyses were conducted on 58 articles in the category of educational research. As a result of the analyses, it was observed that half of the articles were published in the last 5 years. It was also concluded that the publication language of the articles was predominantly English and that the researchers working in the United States provided the highest contribution to the related literature by producing 20 articles. In addition, it was determined that the most effective journals related to the study subject were "Environmental Education Research" and "Journal of Environmental Education". A total of 180 different keywords were included in the analyzed articles, and the most used ones were "environmental education" and "botanic garden". It was also concluded that 1885 different publications, 1596 authors, and 1309 sources were cited in the articles examined within this research. The articles in the WoS database were examined in this study, and it is important to carry out similar studies in different publication types and databases in terms of revealing the trend in this subject. In scientific fields, various methods of statistical analysis such as bibliometric analysis have been used to determine the effectiveness of journals, research, and articles. The aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis to systematically and understandably characterise publications on impacted third molar surgery (ITMS) from 2000 to 2020. The articles were retrieved on the same day (1 January 2021) from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database of the Web of Science to prevent bias due to daily updates of the databases. A total of 3326 publications from 2000 to 2020 were analysed. The United States of America (USA) had the highest number of publications and h -index value. The highest number of co-citations were of Pell GJ. ITMS research was collected under nine 'clusters'. In this study, developments, the most influential publications, journals, and countries in the research of ITMS were determined based on the evidence gained through bibliometric analysis. Goal: This paper performs a literature review to identify and analyze the main gaps related to crisis management and risk management in the engineering projects context. Design / Methodology / Approach: A literature review research design was carried out merging bibliometrics, network and qualitative and quantitative content analysis. Data were obtained from the scientific database Scopus. Results: Publications per year illustrates that in 2016 as concentrated the major number of papers. Only 1% of the authors published 4 papers about models for software engineering risks analysis and reduction. The paper distribution by country shows that the United States has the highest percentage, about 16% of the total. The network of co-occurrence of all keywords has three well-defined clusters. Limitations of the investigation: The quantity of papers analyzed and the selection of a single database. Practical implications: This research encourages project managers to develop pertinent skills for crisis management and risk management in the engineering projects context. Furthermore, this study can guide decision-makers on how to manage risks during the crisis, and also highlights the importance of creating a lessons learned database. Aims: The Communities That Care Youth Survey (CTCYS) is an assessment for youth risk and protective factors focused on antisocial behaviors, drug abuse, violence, and delinquency. The systematic review aimed to analyze psychometric validations and cross‐cultural adaptation processes of CTCYS to prepare its Brazilian validation. Methods: PubMed, SpringerLink, Scopus, and Web of Science were the databases included. The study followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses) protocol. Results: Twenty articles were selected based on the inclusion/exclusion criteria. In general, the construct validity indexes were considered adequate, and the measures of risk and protective factors were equivalent between ethnic groups, gender, and populations at risk. Reliability values for most scales are good, averaging about 0.78. We found cultural adaptations from six different countries with some satisfactory results, but not so good as the original properties of CTCYS and the adjustments to other ethnic groups or subpopulations in the United States. Conclusion: This survey may be a potentially reliable and valid instrument to assess risk and protection in different cultures and populations. In this study, 59 SSCI-indexed articles published between 2012 and 2017 in the Web of Science database were analyzed by systematic review, identified by the keywords "Learning Management Systems / LMS" in their titles. This study aims to determine the current situation and future trends in using LMSs as one of the tools that are getting increasingly popular both in blended and online environments. Accordingly, our study has revealed that the highest number of the articles were published in 2016, Moodle is the most popular LMS, the open-source LMSs are preferred over other types, LMSs are most often used to measure success, South Korea and the United States (US) are the pioneering countries in this field, the quantitative method and questionnaire tool are the preferred methodological approaches in the LMS scientific research, students are more likely to be selected as a sample group, with the 0-100 range as the most common sample size, and that the technology acceptance model (TAM) is the most frequently used model. The article is devoted to the study of the leading positions and principles of Artemis. We are going to consider 13 provisions, including purpose and scope, implementation, peaceful purposes, transparency, interoperability, emergency assistance, registration of space objects, publication of scientific data, preservation of space heritage, space resources, space de-conflict. Actions, Orbital Debris, and Final Provisions. The article opted for exploratory research using an open, grounded theory approach, including regulations, abstracts of international conferences. The data was supplemented by legal documents, including materials from laws, acts and contracts. In this article, we will learn about the leading role of the Artemis Agreement for the signatory countries and why further agreements between the signatories and the United States are so important. The article explores the principle of adaptive management, which began to develop rapidly thanks to Artemis Accords, and its implications for international cooperation. The use of space resources in terms of the Artemis Agreement is also being analyzed, as today we see some differences between the provisions on innovation of the Artemis Agreement and the Outer Space Treaty. This article examines the compliance of Artemis Accords with international law and international standards, as its main purpose is to confirm the willingness of the signatory countries to work together on the basis of established principles. In the United States, rural areas have a higher burden of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) compared to urban areas. However, there is limited information on risk factors and interventions that improve the primary prevention and management of T2DM in rural areas. To synthesize current knowledge on T2DM in rural areas and to guide healthcare providers and policy makers, we reviewed five scientific databases and the grey literature over the last decade (2010–2020). We described classification systems for rurality and the T2DM burden based on rurality and region (West, South, Midwest, and Northeast). We highlighted risk factors for T2DM in rural compared to urban areas, and summarized interventions to screen and manage T2DM based on opportunistic screening, T2DM self‐management, community‐based initiatives, as well as interventions targeting comorbidities and T2DM. Several studies identified the co‐existence of T2DM and depression/psychological symptoms, which could reduce adherence to non‐pharmacologic and pharmacologic management of T2DM. We highlighted the role of technology in education and counselling of patients with geographic and financial barriers to accessing care, which is exacerbated by the SARS‐CoV‐2 coronavirus disease‐19 pandemic. We identified knowledge gaps and next steps in improving T2DM care in rural areas. There is an urgent need for interventions tailored to rural areas given that rural Americans currently experience a disproportionate burden of T2DM and are encumbered by its associated morbidity, mortality, and loss in economic productivity. Methods: A literature search was performed in January 23, 2018 at the Embase, LILACS, OpenThesis, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases through January 23, 2018, using keywords related to "asthma," "pharmacist," and "children." This systematic review followed the methodologic standards recommended by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. We included intervention studies on the effect of pharmacists' interventions on pediatric patients with asthma, performed in hospital or ambulatory care settings, with presenting process and outcome indicators as a result of pharmacists' interventions. The methodologic quality of the included studies was assessed independently by 2 researchers. The Cohen kappa index was used to measure the degree of agreement between the 2 investigators.Results: The search yielded 3671 records, of which 5 were included in this review. Most of these studies were conducted in the United States (n = 2) and in outpatient clinics (n = 4). All studies described components of pharmacists' interventions. The most reported category concerning pharmacists' work process was the initial assessment of patients' conditions, with the assessment of outcomes (at baseline and follow-up) as the only category present in all studies. The most assessed outcomes at baseline were asthma control, emergency department visits, medication use and technique, and adherence to asthma therapy. At follow-up, emergency department visits were the most evaluated outcome (n = 2), and no study assessed economic outcomes. The average consultation time ranged from 20 to 45 minutes, and the number of encounters ranged from 2 to 3.Conclusion: This study highlighted the limited number of studies, most with low quality, on the impact of the pharmacist on pediatric asthma. The most assessed outcome was the number of emergency department visits, with positive results after interventions. Background: Globally lung cancer is one of the most common cancers, and is responsible for almost 20% of all cancer care costs. As a potential treatment for lung cancer, anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy has become a novel scientific hotspot in recent decades. The present study aims at exploring the status and trends of the top frequently cited publications about the anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy for lung cancer via bibliometric analysis. Methods: The publications concerning anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy for lung cancer were searched on the core collection database of Web of Science, setting the time period for retrieval from 1950 to 2019. The top 100 most frequently cited publications were retrieved, and the bibliometric data were mainly accessed through an open online analysis platform and VOSviewer software. Results: The cited frequencies about the top 100 cited publications ranged from 218 to 6248. These articles were published in 39 publications, which were mainly ranked in Q1. The top journal in terms of the number of the articles was the New England Journal of Medicine (16 articles). The most frequently nominated author was Brahmer, JR from Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, while the most contributing institution was Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer. The United States acted as the pioneer in this new field of research and led plentiful of national and international co-operations. Immunotherapy, nivolumab, cell lung-cancer, safety, and docetaxel appeared more frequently as keywords. Discussions: To sum up, high quality journals, influential authors and institutions and research with high quality evidence were apt to attract more attention and possess more public credibility. Moreover, the bibliometric analysis is yielding up its advantage of identifying and analyzing the characteristics and changes in the intellectual structures of a special topic. When working with a citizen science database like eBird, there are many possible ways to filter or subsample observations. Here, we discuss the potential biases and assumptions that surround different subsampling approaches or filtering that can be done to the eBird database. Restricting observations to species that are known to frequently hybridize, a specific time of the year, or a specific location, has the potential to greatly inflate the calculated per‐individual rate of hybridization. Such filtering also assumes that researchers know a birds' capacity to hybridize with all other species in its range, which we argue is an unfounded assumption. We ultimately conclude that a limited filtering approach is ideal when using a citizen science database to attempt to address a broad question such as: what is the per individual rate of hybridization across all of the bird species in the United States? Global neurosurgery is the practice of neurosurgery with the primary purpose of delivering timely, safe, and affordable neurosurgical care to all who need it. The aim of this study is to identify the most frequently cited articles in global neurosurgery through a bibliographic review to characterize articles and trends around this growing topic. The top most-cited articles in global neurosurgery were determined by searching the Web of Science database using a priori search terms. Articles with at least 5 citations were selected, and there were no time period or language restrictions. The data were extracted from each included article and all characteristics were summarized. A total of 932 articles were identified using the search terms; 69 articles fulfilled inclusion criteria and 17 articles were selected that had more than 5 citations. The articles' number of citations ranged from 6 to 98 for the most-cited article. Authors from, or affiliated with, 14 countries contributed to the 17 articles, and the country that had the greatest representation was the United States. The main topic discussed was surgical capacity, the second topic was the treatment of different neurosurgical conditions, and volunteerism was the third topic. There is currently a deficit in both the amount of literature surrounding the topic of global neurosurgery and how much that literature is cited. Developing innovative ways to increase academic productivity within, or in collaboration with, low-middle income countries is essential to contribute to global neurosurgery. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
