Introduction: One of the main forms of land settlement that generates serious impacts in water bodies is the construction of highways close to these systems. Objective: To identify the socio-environmental impacts associated with two events: the widening of BR-040 (in 2007) and the construction of BR-440 (between 2010 and 2020), near the banks of São Pedro Dam reservoir, a public water supply source in Juiz de Fora, MG. Methodology: A review of data from published papers, in which the area of study was the same and Water Quality Index (WQI) was used, was carried out in order to assess the water quality of this source, classified as a Class 1 water body. Data on water quality parameters provided by CESAMA were also analyzed. In addition, the progress of land development projects in the vicinity of the dam reservoir was regularly monitored from 2006 to 2017, allowing the gathering of information to be used in the analysis of associated consequences. Results: The dataset showed that the aforementioned events caused severe damage at the socio-environmental level, such as suppression of riparian vegetation, silting of the water body, compaction and contamination of the soil, filling of springs with land, and diversion of its waters. As a consequence, WQI values in these periods were the worst, indicating poor water quality for supply purposes. Conclusion: It is possible to double the volume of water treated by the local plant. Theorical reflections about current diet habits and the culinary workshop in the teaching/learning process demonstrate the importance of the cuisine as a field practice to promote an exchange of knowledge, dietary and nutritional education and to motivate healthy eating habits and social emancipation, answering to current Brazilian necessities, where the culinary practices are reduced, the diet choices are leaned towards fast preparing and palatable foods and the professional capacitation represents an inclusive productive strategy. This paper reports the experience of a culinary workshop, realized through the extension-program project (Productive Inclusion through the culinary workshop in a social program in Juiz de Fora city, MG. The action, subject feeding habits in the adulthood was destined to women who attend the Social Program. The Brazilian Population Feeding Guide was used and group dynamics as ludic-pedagogical strategies and the participants received materials to make a pot salad. This action had stimulated the participants to develop a healthy diet and put themselves in the labor market. The culinary promotes dietary and nutritional education, and productive inclusion, because it values autonomy in dietary choices and social emancipation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Araçuaí-West Congo orogen is a confined orogen, formed by the inversion of a gulf of the São Francisco-Congo paleocontinent during the Neoproterozoic assembly of Gondwana. In this convergent process, fragments of the gulf's continental margin were tectonically dismembered and involved in the growing orogenic pile, and these domains are now exposed by the erosion as basement inliers within the orogen. These basement assemblages (i.e. rocks older than 1.8 Ga) occupy almost 30% of the orogen and occur in various domains along its external zone , amid Meso-to Neoproterozoic metaigneous and metasedimentary rocks. The main recognized basement domains are named Itarantim, Gavião, Porteirinha, Guanhães, Gouveia, Quadrilátero Ferrífero, Mantiqueira and Juiz de Fora (South America), and Kimezian (Africa). They comprise Archean gneisses, granitoids and metavolcanosedimentary sequences and various Rhyacian-Orosirian plutonics and supracrustal units, whose history trace back to the Minas-Bahia orogeny, event responsible for the assembly of the São Francisco-Congo paleocontinent. In this paper we present a detailed and unprecedented review of literature that aims to condensate the state-of-the-art of the geological knowledge about each of these basement inliers and, based on that, to discuss and propose paleogeographic scenarios for the Minas-Bahia orogeny. Due to the confined nature of the Araçuaí orogen, all their basement inliers correspond to fragments of the São Francisco-Congo paleocontinent reworked during the Neoproterozoic Brasiliano orogeny. In the context of the Rhyacian-Orosirian Minas-Bahia orogeny, Guanhães, Gouveia, Porteirinha and Gavião domains are understood as parts of the continents involved in the collision, while the Mantiqueira, Kimezian, Juiz de Fora and Itarantim domains mostly record magmatic arcs, formed in various environments. This review revealed that the density of geological information available for each basement inlier is very uneven, and that there are many gaps for further investigation in all the domains. • We present the state-of-the art of the geological knowledge about the basement inliers of the Araçuaí orogen • Basement assemblages (>1.8 Ga) occupy ca. 30% of the Araçuaí-West Congo orogen, in various domains along its external zone • As Araçuaí is a confined orogen, all their basement inliers are reworked fragments of the S.
