This study provides a web-based view of the University library website in India. The study intended to gain some insight into the user access and usability of the University Library website. The University library website is an access point for libraries in this digital era. This Covid-19 pandemic affected the Library usage pattern drastically. The library website gives the user access to library resources and services. Information Architecture examines the flow of Information on a website. A good website has a user-friendly information design and does not just focus on website appearance- 'looks'. The research design involved 40 participants at a given time and space. Testing was conducted on the Bangalore University library website using the post-graduate students studying at the University. The Usability testing was conducted to test the navigation through the Library website. A demographic study of the test subjects was also used to understand the needs and evaluate the homepage of the Bangalore University Library, Bangalore (BUBL) website. User experience and usability of the BUBL website were tested using a set of tasks performed by the library users. The study found the trust level of the BUBL website to be high in users. The digital library has gained significant importance in recent years as it provides a more suitable solution to access the knowledge or resources available anywhere and at any time. National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a digital platform that provides access to substantial digital storage of resources and encourages and inspires learning among the nation's people. This study aimed to analyze the awareness of the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) among the students, teachers and research scholars of India and tried to assess its utilization and backdrops for further improvement. The empirical study was conducted in India, and the primary data were collected using Google Forms. Snowball sampling was used to collect data from 384 respondents, including students, research scholars and teachers. The study detected that the overall level of awareness of NDLI was low (39.3%) among the different groups, and students had the lowest (50.2%) level of awareness among other groups of respondents comparatively. A strong association was seen to exist between educational qualification and respondents' level of awareness. Apart from these, the users found the NDLI app useful; 54% of respondents were able to access the required content using the app and 71% of the users rated 'good' the app's performance. Institutional Repositories (IRs) are an effective way of managing and disseminating institutions’ in scholarly communication. More specifically, an IR enhances the visibility and discoverability of the content and validates the repository’s importance. Knowledge Organisation System (KOS) strengthens the digital content organisation, connects users with collections, and improves information retrieval functionalities. This paper investigates the present status of user interface features and incorporates KOS in the institutional repository of technical institutions, restricted to Centrally Funded Technical Institutions in India. A group of twenty-four web-accessible institutional repositories was identified, and their KOS and user interface features were evaluated. It was found that user interfaces of all IRs under study comply with essential search and navigation functionalities, such as simple and advanced search, browsing, faceted or filtering approaches, and integration with multiple KOS. Only a few of them include complex KOS, such as control vocabulary. All repositories show their search results in both normal-text and metadata views. Some have specific display features, such as highlighting the query or displaying a thumbnail. Google is one of the most popular search engines that indexes IR content for visibility and discoverability, and approximately 90 per cent of repositories are linked with NDLI. The Department of Posts, Government of India, to date, has set up six full-time postal training centres (PTC) across India to meet the training requirements of its five-lakh strong workforce. PTC Madurai (PTCM), situated in Tamil Nadu, is one such training centre. PTCM has taken a proactive initiative to explore and adopt information technologies in the training and learning domains. It has partnered with the JRD Tata Memorial Library, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, through a small project to set up a digital infrastructure to manage its training programmes and the library collection. PTCM was looking for a digital library to manage its training materials, an online catalogue for its library collection, and a website. The consultants used three different open-source software to implement the requirements of PTCM viz; EPrints1 for developing the digital library, Koha2 for the integrated library management system, and WordPress3 content management system for developing the website. With the advent of ICT tools and techniques in library environment library website has served as a gateway to reach out to library system and services. The present study deals with analysis of the content of top ten NIRF ranked universities located within India as per the rank list published in the year 2021 by taking into account 58 criteria arranged in nine checklists. From the study it was found that all the university libraries taken under study have covered a whole range of information related to general information, library collection and E-resources possessed by them. Very few university libraries have included Information related to library sections and the volume and variety of information related to library services and value added services in the libraries is not satisfactory. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the level of awareness and usage of open source digital repository software (DRS). The paper also studies the factors, which influence the level of awareness and usage of different open source DRS by academic librarians in India. Design/methodology/approach: The study administered an online questionnaire to academic librarians in India to know their level of awareness and usage of open source DRS. The questionnaire aimed to gather the awareness and usage of open source DSR. In total, 374 complete responses were collected from academic librarians in India and the collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Moreover, Fishers' exact test was used to identify whether factors i.e. qualification and participation in workshop/seminar influence the level of awareness and usage of open source DRS. Findings: The results of the study reveal that the level of awareness and usage of open source DRS, namely, DSpace (Mean = 2.92, SD = 0.906) and Greenstone digital library software (GSDL) (Mean = 2.18, SD = 0.699) are high amongst the academic librarians in India. In total, 33.4%, 11.5% of the participants are using DSpace and GSDL, respectively, on regular basis. Fishers' exact test shows that factor(s) i.e. qualifications and participation in workshop/seminar affect the level of awareness and usage of open source DRS. The results show that there exits strong relation between participation in workshop/seminar and awareness and usage of DSpace (Fishers' exact test = 13.473, p < 0.05). Originality/value: This paper is the new type of study exploring level of awareness and usage of open source DRS by academic librarians in India. It identifies the factors that affect the awareness and usage of open source DRS. It is the first study to analyze the statistical significance between Indian librarians' participation in workshop/seminar and their level of awareness and usage of different open source DRS. The purpose of this article is to investigate the level of awareness, attitudes and skills of information communication technology ((ICT) among LIS professionals southern region of India. Further it investigate whether qualification of LIS professionals using ICT based applications, digital library software, skills to manage of ICT based library services attitudes towards impact of ICT applications. A survey was conducted through online questionnaires to assess the level of awareness, attitudes and skills by library science professionals of Pharmacy colleges in Bangalore of southern India. Total 55 questionnaires were distributed and 43 filled questionnaires were collected from LIS professionals. The collected data were analysed using recent MS excel sheet. LIS professionals are having excellent skills to manage e resources like library website, Open Access Journals and Books, ETD and library consortium and average skills to use OPAC by the majority of respondents followed by below average and above average skills to use online open access catalogue in their institutions. Electronic resources are a modern concept with latest techniques and methods and a step further towards digital library. Its main objects is to provide facilities of elearning, e-journals, e-sources, e-books, e-contents and e-publishing with the help of internet at regional, national and international level through consortia. To find the status of IT implementations in the digital library in universities of the Jammu and Kashmir region information was collected through questionnaire. Analysis of the responses helps understanding the status and level of digital library implementation by taking right steps within the existing resources. It will help formulation of recommendations for establishing, implementing and enhancing existing level of the component specially in pooling the resources by the universities. The purpose of this study is to conceptualize a digital library acceptance model and its validation. Based on the extant literature and interviews with experts, a sixty-three statement questionnaire was developed and a survey was conducted to test the proposed model. The target population included library professionals and users from academic institutions in India including faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students. These sixty-three statements were categorized into seventeen dimensions on the basis of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model and two information success models. The model was tested using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The findings suggest that digital libraries can become more useful and acceptable to targeted user groups when they are developed in accordance with four major factors: systemic aspects, informational aspects, perception of the relevant social group, and user learning. Digital library has taken a long stride towards the development and extension of library and its services not only beyond the four walls but beyond borders. Taking advantage of information technology, corporate bodies and institutions have already moved ahead in this area and created the digital library to harvest its rich fruit. In order to ascertain the status of IT application in the universities of Jammu & Kashmir, literature on the subject was surveyed. The literature search reveals existence of and access to e-journals, open archive journals, institutional repositories, knowledge management, digital divide, open source software, ICT and education.
