Liver cirrhosis remains a major health concern globally, but its epidemiology and etiology evolve with time. However, the changing pattern in etiology and cause of liver‐related mortality for patients with cirrhosis are not fully elucidated. Herein, our aim was to characterize the temporal trend of the etiological spectrum and evaluate the impact of etiology on liver‐related death among patients with compensated cirrhosis (CC) in Beijing, China. Clinical profiles of patients with CC discharged between January 2008 and December 2015 were retrieved from the Beijing hospital discharge database. The mortalities of different etiologies of cirrhosis were calculated. The risks of readmission and liver‐related death associated with etiologies were evaluated by the Cox regression model. A total of 23 978 cirrhotic patients were included. The predominant cause was hepatitis B virus (HBV) (58.93%), followed by alcohol (21.35%), autoimmune (14.85%), miscellaneous etiologies (3.55%), and hepatitis C virus (HCV) (1.32%). From 2008 to 2015, the proportion of HBV‐related cirrhosis decreased to 28.11%. Meanwhile, the proportions of autoimmune‐ and miscellaneous‐related cirrhosis increased to 28.54% and 13.11%. The risk of liver‐related death ranked the highest in patients with miscellaneous cirrhosis, followed by HBV‐related cirrhosis, alcohol‐related cirrhosis, autoimmune‐related cirrhosis, and HCV‐related cirrhosis. The 5‐year rates of liver‐related death were 22.56%, 18.99%, 18.77%, 16.01%, and 10.76%, respectively. HBV‐related cirrhosis caused the highest risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)‐related death, whereas alcohol‐ and miscellaneous‐related cirrhosis caused higher risks of decompensation (DC)‐related death than HBV‐related cirrhosis, with hazard ratios of 1.35 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.24–1.48) and 1.20 (95% CI: 1.03–1.40), respectively. HBV remained a common cause of liver cirrhosis but gradually decreased. Mortality disparities existed in etiologies, with higher risks of HCC‐related death in HBV‐related cirrhosis, and DC‐related death in alcohol‐ and miscellaneous‐related cirrhosis. Background: Left ventricular (LV) geometry is closely associated with cardiovascular disease; however, few studies have evaluated the relationship between basal septal hypertrophy (BSH) and LV geometry. In this study, we examined the relationship between BSH and LV geometry in a Beijing community population. Methods: The clinical and echocardiographic data of 1032 participants from a community in Beijing were analyzed. BSH was defined as a basal interventricular septal thickness ≥ 14 mm and a basal septal thickness/mid-septal thickness ≥ 1.3. On the basis of their echocardiographic characteristics, patients were described as having a normal geometry, concentric remodeling, concentric hypertrophy, or eccentric hypertrophy. Multivariable logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between BSH, LV mass index (LVMI), and relative wall thickness (RWT). Results: The prevalence of BSH was 7.4% (95% confidence interval [CI] 5.8–9.0%). Basal and middle interventricular septal thickness, LV posterior wall thickness, and RWT were greater, while LVMI and LV end-diastolic dimension were lower in the BSH group than in the non-BSH group (p < 0.05). The BSH group accounted for the highest proportion of patients with concentric remodeling. A multivariable regression analysis showed that BSH increased by 3.99-times (odds ratio [OR] 3.99, 95% CI 2.05–7.78, p < 0.01) when RWT was > 0.42, but not when LVMI increased (OR 0.16, 95% CI 0.02–1.19, p = 0.07). There were no interactions between BSH and age, body mass index, sex, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, stroke, and smoking in relation to an RWT > 0.42. Background: We examined the relationship between epicardial fat thickness (EFT) measured by echocardiography and left ventricular diastolic function parameters in a Beijing community population.Methods: We included 1004 participants in this study. Echocardiographic parameters including E and A peak velocity, the early diastolic velocities (e') of the septal and lateral mitral annulus using tissue doppler imaging, E/e', and EFT were measured. EFT1 was measured perpendicularly on the right ventricular free wall at end diastole in the extension line of the aortic root. EFT2 was the maximum thickness measured perpendicularly on the right ventricular free wall at end diastole. Multivariable linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between EFT and the mean e' and E/e'.Results: The mean age of the participants was 63.91 ± 9.02 years, and 51.4% were men. EFT1 and EFT2 were negatively correlated with lateral e', septal e', and mean e' (p < 0.05), and the correlation coefficient for EFT1 and EFT2 and mean e' was - 0.138 and - 0.180, respectively. EFT1 and EFT2 were positively correlated with lateral E/e', septal E/e', and mean E/e' (p < 0.05), and the correlation coefficient for EFT1 and EFT2 and mean e' was 0.100 and 0.090, respectively. Multivariable egression analysis showed that EFT2 was independently and negatively associated with e' mean (β = - 0.078 [95% confidence interval = - 0.143, - 0.012, p = 0.020]). There were no interactions between EFT2 and any covariates, including age or heart groups, sex, BMI, or presence of hypertension, diabetes, or coronary heart disease, in relation to left ventricular diastolic dysfunction.Conclusions: EFT2 was negatively and independently associated with e' mean, which suggests that more attention to this type of adipose fat is required for cardiovascular disease therapy. Background: There is a strong need to include training of research methods in training programs for physicians. International clinical research training programs (CRTP) that comprehensively introduce the methodology of clinical research and combined with practice should be a priority. However, few studies have reported a multimodal international CRTP that provides clinicians with an introduction to the quantitative and methodological principles of clinical research. Objective: This manuscript is intended to comprehensively describe the development process and the structure of this multimodal training program. Methods: The CRTP was comprised of three distinct, sequential learning components: part 1 – a six-week online eLearning self-study; part 2 – a series of three weekly interactive synchronous webinars conducted between Durham, North Carolina, USA and Beijing, China; and part 3 – a five-day in-person workshop held at Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University (BFH-CMU). Self-assessment quiz scores and participation rates were used to evaluate effectiveness of the training program. Participants' demographic characteristics, research experience, satisfaction and feedback on the program were collected using questionnaires. Results: A total of 50 participants joined the CRTP. Forty-four participants (88%) completed the program satisfaction questionnaires. The average quiz score of the six eLearning units varied from 31% to 73%. Among the three components of the program, the online eLearning self-study was felt to be the most challenging. Thirty-nine (89%) of the surveyed respondents were satisfied with all components of the training program. Among the respondents, 43 (98%) felt the training was helpful in preparing them for future clinical research projects and expressed willingness to recommend the program to other colleagues. Conclusions: We established a multimodal international collaborative training program. The program demonstrated acceptable participation rates and high satisfaction among Chinese clinicians. Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) can convert insoluble forms of phosphorus (P) to accessible forms. 11 strains of PSB, including five inorganic phosphate solubilizing bacteria (IPSBs) and six organic phosphate solubilizing bacteria (OPSBs), were isolated from rhizosphere soils of three plants Scirpus planiculmis, Zizania latifolia, and Phrnagmites australis in the Yeyahu Wetland of Beijing, China to investigate P-solubilizing activities. In addition, the distributions of P fractions in soil samples were also observed. All strains evaluated above 1.0 by the ratio of transparent circle diameter to colony diameter (D/d) on Ca3(PO4)2 or lecithin plates were identified by 16S rRNA sequencing. Results showed that Ca-bound P (Ca-P) was the main species of inorganic P (IP), and highly resistant organic P (HR-OP) accounted for the most part of organic P (OP). These strains were identified as bacterial species of Enterobacter asburiae, Acinetobacter sp., Bacillus cereus strain, and so on. The most efficient IPSB strain could convert over 430 mg L−1 orthophosphate, while the equivalent OPSB strain only liberated less than 4 mg L−1 in liquid culture, which indicated that IPSBs have a better P-solubilizing ability than OPSBs in rhizosphere soils of the Yeyahu Wetland and IPSBs are likely to regulate the P transformation process in this wetland. Traffic congestion is now nearly ubiquitous in many urban areas. The improvement of road infrastructure is an effective way to ease traffic congestion, especially the key road links. So, it is a fundamental and important step to identify the key link for improving transportation efficiency. However, most approaches in the current literature use simulated data and need many assumption conditions. The result shows the low comprehensibility and the bad exactitude. This paper provides a new identification method of key links for urban road traffic network (URTN) based on temporal-spatial distribution of traffic congestion. The method involves identifying congestion state, computing time distribution of congestion state and determining key road link. By the cluster analysis of the history field data of URTN, the threshold to determine the traffic congestion of each link can be obtained. Then the time-interval of the traffic congestion can be computed by median filtering. At last, the time-interval coverage is defined and used to determine the target road link whether it is a key road link or not. Objective: Since July 1, 2011 antiviral therapy for hepatitis B virus infection has been listed as a reimbursable expense for medical insurance in Beijing. This study aimed to assess the impact of this program on liver‐related death for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Methods: Profiles of patients with CHB discharged between January 2008 and December 2015 were retrieved from the Beijing hospital discharge database. Liver‐related deaths in these patients occurring between January 2008 and December 2017 were retrieved by linking them to the death certification database. Liver‐related mortality (number of deaths divided by the observed person‐years) before and after this program was launched was calculated and compared. A Poisson regression was performed to assess the strength of association (risk ratio [RR]) between the reimbursement program and liver‐related mortality. Results: Information on 35 943 discharged patients (17 114 patients with non‐cirrhotic and 18 829 with compensated cirrhotic CHB) was retrieved. Altogether 3 832 liver‐related deaths during the 190 695 person‐years were observed. After the reimbursement program was launched, liver‐related mortality per 100 person‐years dropped from 0.38% to 0.16% for patients with non‐cirrhotic CHB, and from 4.03% to 3.39% for those with compensated cirrhosis. The program was associated with a lower risk of developing liver‐related death for patients with non‐cirrhotic CHB (RR 0.40, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.30‐0.52) and those with compensated cirrhosis (RR 0.84, 95% CI 0.78‐0.89). Conclusion: Coverage of antiviral therapy by basic medical insurance reduced the risk of developing liver‐related death for patients with non‐cirrhotic and with compensated cirrhotic CHB. In recent years, urban flooding has been a frequent occurrence, and seriously threatens the safety of lives and properties. Rational placement of distributed storage tanks is one of the effective ways to solve urban flooding, addressing stormwater management and rainwater reuse. However, existing optimization methods (such as genetic algorithm (GA) and other evolutionary algorithms) for determining the placement of storage tanks typically have a high computational burden; as such, they can be very time-consuming, and are not conducive to energy saving, carbon reduction and work efficiency improvements. In this study, a new approach and framework based on a resilience characteristic metric (RCM) and reduced modelling requirements are proposed. In this framework, the resilience characteristic metric, which is based on the linear superposition principle of system resilience metadata, is introduced, and a small number of simulations based on a coupling of MATLAB with SWMM are used to obtain the final placement scheme of storage tanks. The framework is demonstrated and verified with two cases in Beijing and Chizhou, China, and compared with a GA. The GA requires 2000 simulations for two cases (considering the placement of 2 and 6 tanks respectively), while the proposed method needs 44 simulations for the Beijing case and 89 simulations for the Chizhou case. The results show that the proposed approach is feasible and effective, and cannot only obtain a relative better placement scheme, but also considerably reduce computational time and energy consumption. It significantly improves the efficiency of determining the placement scheme of storage tanks. This method provides a new approach for the determining better storage tank placement schemes, and is useful for informing device placement in sustainable drainage systems. Background/Objective: Inadvertent intraoperative hypothermia (core temperature <360 C) is a recognized risk in surgery and has adverse consequences. However, no data about this complication in China are available. Our study aimed to determine the incidence of inadvertent intraoperative hypothermia and its associated risk factors in a sample of Chinese patients. Methods: We conducted a regional cross-sectional survey in Beijing from August through December, 2013. Eight hundred thirty patients who underwent various operations under general anesthesia were randomly selected from 24 hospitals through a multistage probability sampling. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were applied to explore the risk factors of developing hypothermia. Results: The overall incidence of intraoperative hypothermia was high, 39.9%. All patients were warmed passively with surgical sheets or cotton blankets, whereas only 10.7% of patients received active warming with space heaters or electric blankets. Pre-warmed intravenous fluid were administered to 16.9% of patients, and 34.6% of patients had irrigation of wounds with pre-warmed fluid. Active warming (OR = 0.46, 95% CI 0.26–0.81), overweight or obesity (OR = 0.39, 95% CI 0.28–0.56), high baseline core temperature before anesthesia (OR = 0.08, 95% CI 0.04–0.13), and high ambient temperature (OR = 0.89, 95% CI 0.79–0.98) were significant protective factors for hypothermia. In contrast, major-plus operations (OR = 2.00, 95% CI 1.32–3.04), duration of anesthesia (1–2 h) (OR = 3.23, 95% CI 2.19–4.78) and >2 h (OR = 3.44, 95% CI 1.90–6.22,), and intravenous un-warmed fluid (OR = 2.45, 95% CI 1.45–4.12) significantly increased the risk of hypothermia. Conclusions: The incidence of inadvertent intraoperative hypothermia in Beijing is high, and the rate of active warming of patients during operation is low. Concern for the development of intraoperative hypothermia should be especially high in patients undergoing major operations, requiring long periods of anesthesia, and receiving un-warmed intravenous fluids. Based on graph theory, this paper presents a topological heterogeneity and vulnerability analysis of metro networks where transfer constraint is taken into account. The statistical measurements based on minimal transfer times are defined, such as betweenness, the shortest path and the average transfer times. Based on above, on the one hand, heterogeneity of network is analyzed by adopting entropy theory; on the other hand, travel efficiency and connectivity based on effective paths are proposed to measure the topological vulnerability of metro network. The feasibility and rationality of the methods described above are verified through the Beijing metro network. The results show that the topological analysis neglecting transfer constraint would underestimate the heterogeneity and vulnerability of the metro network: the topological heterogeneity and vulnerability of Beijing metro network with considering transfer constraint are smaller than without considering transfer constraint; in the case of considering transfer constraint, with the scale expansion of network, travel efficiency and convenience increase, and topological heterogeneity and vulnerability of network decrease, but the connectivity of metro network is more vulnerable to node-based attack. • Metro network is abstracted as a model transfers constraint is taken into account. • The statistical measurements based on minimal transfer times are defined, such as betweenness and the shortest path. • Travel efficiency and connectivity based on effective paths are proposed to measure the topological vulnerability of metro network. • The feasibility and rationality of the methods are verified through the Beijing metro network. This paper investigates immersion mode ice‐nucleating particle (INP) concentrations measured with a continuous flow diffusion chamber at temperatures of −20°C, −25°C, and −30°C in Beijing from 4 May to 4 June 2018. Aerosol conditions in the experiment period are classified into four types: clean, light PM2.5 pollution, heavy PM2.5 pollution, and dust. The PM mass concentrations and the aerosol size distributions are distinctly different in the four aerosol conditions. INP concentration increases as temperature decreases from −20°C to −30°C for all the four aerosol conditions. At a given temperature, INP concentrations progressively increase as the aerosol condition changes from clean to light PM2.5 pollution and to heavy PM2.5 pollution condition. At −25°C and −30°C, the dust condition has a much higher INP concentration than the other aerosol conditions. The INP concentration is closely related to the number concentration of aerosols with diameters of 1.0–2.5 μm (n1.0 ${n}_{1.0}$). Using a similar method as in the previous parameterization of INP concentrations for global and fairly clean aerosol conditions, a new parameterization of the INP concentration based on n1.0 ${n}_{1.0}$ is provided for the complicated aerosol conditions with high aerosol number concentrations in Beijing. In this study, measurements of aerosols and INPs under various aerosol conditions in Beijing are used to investigate the aerosol–INP relationship. It is found that the immersion mode INP concentration in the experiment period is not only dependent on temperature but also substantially influenced by aerosol conditions. At temperatures between −20°C and −30°C, the condition with the heavier PM2.5 pollution has the higher INP concentrations, and the dust condition has the highest INP concentrations. The number concentration of aerosols with diameters of 1.0–2.5 μm is a better parameter for predicting the INP concentration than the number concentration of aerosols with diameters of 0.5–2.5 μm, which was proposed to predict the INP concentration in previous studies under relatively clean aerosol conditions. The new parameterization of aerosol–INP relationship provided in this study can be applicable for complicated aerosol conditions with high aerosol number concentrations including anthropogenic sources. This study explored the patterns and predictors of aspect marker acquisition of Chinese preschoolers speaking Mandarin Chinese as their first language (L1). Based on a corpus drawn from 157 preschoolers from Beijing, China, this study set out to explore (1) the developmental pattern of aspect marker acquisition; (2) the interactional pattern between grammatical aspect markers and lexical aspects; (3) the production of temporal adverbs with aspect markers; and (4) the predictors of aspect marker acquisition. The main research findings included the following: (1) the Jonckheere–Terpstra test revealed an age-related increase in children's production of aspect markers, and in particular, there was a significant increase in grammatical aspect markers and lexical aspect subclasses from age 4;6 (Year; Month) onwards; (2) the Friedman's ANOVAs indicated that -LE was frequently used in combination with most of the lexical aspect subclasses, among them the achievement was the most frequently co-occurring subclass, while the activities came second; (3) a series of Chi-square tests showed that using temporal adverbs in combination with aspect markers became increasingly common among older children; (4) the hierarchical regression analysis identified children's preschooling experience as a significant predictor of their early aspectual development, after controlling for the other variables. Concerning the complexity and diversity of demands in historic and cultural districts, the protection and regeneration planning (PRP) practice has been gradually shifted from spatial design to pluralistic and participatory community governance. Previous studies have pointed out that community trust is an essential means to eliminate social resistance and improve community cohesion and executive capability. However, the trustbuilding mechanism has been given little attention in urban planning. This study intends to improve the theoretical cognition of trust in community governance and provide suggestions for addressing issues of protection and regeneration planning in historic and cultural districts. With Shijia Hutong in Dongcheng District of Beijing, as an empirical case, this paper conducts a household survey and applies the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to explore the influencing elements and community trust-building path in the protection and regeneration planning from the perspective of residents. Through analyzing the influencing mechanism of residents' perception, it reveals that, firstly, pluralistic governance that is composed of the grass-roots government, NGOs, and residents can directly promote residents' perception of the protection and regeneration planning, and have a greater influence by facilitating public participation in building up community trust. Secondly, residents' perception of the protection and regeneration planning would not be improved if public participation failed to build up community trust. Thirdly, community trust consists of neighborhood trust and leadership trust, of which the latter is more important. These findings contribute a new perspective and solution to urban regeneration and heritage protection in the future. Drawing on Self-Determination Theory, the current study analysed the relationship between teachers' perceived autonomy support and work engagement while it also explored the mediating effect of basic psychological need satisfaction and intrinsic motivation. The study investigated 520 elementary teachers in Beijing, and we found the following: (1) teachers in different groups reported diverse senses of perceived autonomy support, in that teachers with less teaching experience as well as those with a master's degree have a higher score regarding the perceptions of teacher autonomy; and (2) teacher autonomy can affect work engagement not only in terms of the satisfaction of basic psychological needs but also by the chain of satisfaction of basic psychological needs and intrinsic motivation. Teachers with more autonomy support will have higher basic psychological need satisfaction and stronger teaching motivation, which will further enhance their work engagement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As China's urbanization has transformed from extensive development to "refined operation," urban regeneration is more significant. This paper analyzes changes in research perspectives of urban regeneration in recent years at home and abroad and the innovative concept of inclusive development proposed in the context of globalization, finding that the connotation of urban regeneration in European countries has been gradually enriched in order to promote social integration. Based on this, the paper examines how Paris, the first European city, combined inclusive development and urban regeneration and addressed social integration and equity in urban regeneration by taking accessibility as a key point in solving the most fundamental transportation problems. Based on lessons learned from Paris in developing a barrier-free transportation system, it proposes specific optimization strategies at the micro level in accordance with the status quo of public transportation accessibility in Beijing's urban regeneration. The secondary circulation (SC) plays a vital role in the vertical exchange of meteorological variables and aerosol particles between the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) and the free atmosphere. We show that, under favorable synoptic‐scale weather conditions aggravating PM2.5 pollution, heavy particle contaminations reduce wind speed in the low ABL via an aerosol feedback mechanism that perturbs the SCs. We examine the aerosol feedback impact on the reinforcement of SCs subject to heavy PM2.5 pollution occurring in Beijing and its surroundings in China. Results reveal that episodic and composite heavy PM2.5 events simulated by the aerosol feedback model runs reduce the ABL wind speeds and enhance the SC. We identify the SC signals by the differences of resultant wind speeds and PM2.5 concentrations between "feedback" and "nonfeedback" simulations under the presence of a hill topographic forcing, which is conducive to the vertical exchange of PM2.5 between the ABL and free atmosphere. Plain Language Summary: Vertical exchange of an air pollutant between the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) and free atmosphere has been a major concern for the transfer of the pollutant out of the ABL. The secondary circulation (SC) provides one of the pathways for the vertical mixing of air pollutants. Following the classical SC formation mechanism in the ABL, in the present study, we demonstrate that heavy PM2.5 pollution reduces the wind speed and temperature near the surface via an aerosol feedback mechanism, which reinforces the SC. We carried out extensive model simulations of heavy PM2.5 pollution cases in Beijing and surrounding regions in China, subject to feedback and nonfeedback modeling scenarios. The differences between the feedback and nonfeedback model runs revealed enhanced SCs associated with heavy PM2.5 contamination. The reinforced SCs could also be discerned in the presence of hill topography. The results fill our knowledge gaps in the understanding of how and to what extent the aerosol feedback could contribute to the change in SCs, in addition to meteorological factors. The purpose of this paper is to retrieve and study the highly cited papers as well as the correlation between the citation frequency and the download frequency of the 20 traditional Chinese medicine journals in China, in order to provide the guidance for improving the influence and academic quality of these journals. Bibliometric analyses were conducted on 1103 papers of 20 traditional Chinese medicine journals from 2011 to 2020 by retrieving for the China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database (CAJD) in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between the citation frequency and the download frequency via conducting regression fitting and establishing the mathematical models. The results showed that the total citations of the 1103 papers were 93051 times and the average citations were 84.36 times per paper. The total downloads of the 1103 papers were 2058442 times, and the average downloads were 1866.22 times per paper. China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica ranked first according to the number of papers, total citations and total downloads. The citations of Journal of Chinese Medicinal Materials ranked first based on the number of citations per paper. One of Li's paper had been cited the most (983 times). There were 629 (57.03%) papers whose first author was from universities. The scopes of the first authors were distributed in 29 regions and 2 special administrative regions (Macao, Hong Kong) in China. The authors from Beijing published 283 (25.66%) papers, ranking number one. The number of papers supported by funds was 882 (79.96%). The research results of correlation showed that the citation frequency and the download frequency of the highly cited papers had a highly positive correlation from both journal and paper level for whether the sample data of journals was normally distributed or nonnormally distributed. The correlation coefficients of the 20 journals at journal level and that at paper level were 0.9765 and 0.6677, respectively. The correlation was better at journal level than that at paper level, while the optimal regression fitting was all cubic polynomial. Among the 1103 papers, there were 684 (62.01%) research papers and 419 (37.99%) review papers. The main citation period of the top 15 papers was from the 2nd year to the 6th year after publication, accounting for 78.39%. Papers on clinical therapeutics research, papers on the pharmacological effects and its mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine, and papers on traditional Chinese medicine and natural medicine were the main source of the highly cited papers of the traditional Chinese medicine journals. Editors of the journals should focus on the above-mentioned research areas to select manuscripts for exploiting the excellent sources extensively, while paying attention to review papers, focusing on national major or key projects, paying attention to network spreading, stabilizing authors with quality services, in order to improve the influence and the academic quality of journals. While cities witness the dramatic changes in external morphology amid rapid urban transition, their internal governance structure should be adjusted accordingly. Based on investigations, this study summarizes the urban management model of the S District of Beijing characterized by "integration" and a "downward shift." It finds that, in practice, there are often such problems as having a defective organization, single participant, imperfect institution and mechanism, weak comprehensive law enforcing, and backward urban management informatization. To solve these problems, it is urgent to transform the old urban administration framework to a new urban governance system. Based on the theory of governance, this paper develops a theoretical framework of an urban governance system that consists of the four layers of goal, idea, driving force, and task, in order to guide the modernization of urban governance. Emergencies have a significant impact on the passenger flow of urban rail transit. It is of great practical significance to accurately predict the urban rail transit passenger flow and carry out research on its temporal and spatial distributions under emergency conditions. Urban rail transit operating units currently use video surveillance information mainly to process emergencies and rarely use computer vision technology to analyze passenger flow information collected. Accordingly, this paper proposes a passenger flow-based temporal and spatial distribution model for urban rail transit emergencies based on the CPT. First, this paper clarifies the categories and classification of urban rail transit emergencies, analyzes the factors affecting passenger route selection, and establishes a generalized travel cost model for passengers under emergencies. Second, this paper establishes a passenger route choice behavior model for urban rail transit based on the cumulative prospect theory. Finally, taking Beijing as an example, this paper analyzes passenger travel behavior under emergencies based on multiple logistic regression models and analyzes the impact of emergencies on rail transit travel behavior. The research results show that the cumulative prospect theory can better describe the route choice behavior of rail transit passengers under emergencies than the existing models, and this model is of great significance for handling urban rail transit emergencies. In the past decade, average PM 2.5 concentrations decreased rapidly under the strong pollution control measures in major cities in China; however, ozone (O3) pollution emerged as a significant problem. Here we examine a unique (for China) 12-year data set of ground-level O3 and precursor concentrations collected at an urban site in Beijing (PKUERS, campus of Peking University), where the maximum daily 8 h average (MDA8) O3 concentration and daytime Ox (O3+NO2) concentration in August increased by 2.3±1.2 ppbv (+3.3±1.8 %) yr -1 and 1.4±0.6 (+1.9±0.8 %) yr -1 , respectively, from 2005 to 2016. In contrast, daytime concentrations of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the OH reactivity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) both decreased significantly. Over this same time, the decrease of particulate matter (and thus the aerosol optical depth) led to enhanced solar radiation and photolysis frequencies, with near-surface J(NO2) increasing at a rate of 3.6±0.8 % yr -1. We use an observation-based box model to analyze the combined effect of solar radiation and ozone precursor changes on ozone production rate, P(O3). The results indicate that the ratio of the rates of decrease of VOCs and NOx (about 1.1) is inefficient in reducing ozone production in Beijing. P(O3) increased during the decade due to more rapid atmospheric oxidation caused to a large extent by the decrease of particulate matter. This elevated ozone production was driven primarily by increased actinic flux due to PM 2.5 decrease and to a lesser extent by reduced heterogeneous uptake of HO2. Therefore, the influence of PM 2.5 on actinic flux and thus on the rate of oxidation of VOCs and NOx to ozone and to secondary aerosol (i.e., the major contributor to PM 2.5) is important for determining the atmospheric effects of controlling the emissions of the common precursors of PM 2.5 and ozone when attempting to control these two important air pollutants. As a showcase for public well-being and urban identity, a better street should carry not only the constantly flowing traffic stream, but also diversified lifestyles and various streetscapes. Beijing is the capital of China, one of its ancient capitals, and a tier 1 international metropolis, both its street connotation and functions are extremely complex. Along with new requirements proposed in the Beijing City Master Plan (2016 - 2035) for controlling construction land, strengthening urban identity, and improving urban governance, the Urban Design Guidelines for Beijing Street Regeneration and Governance (the Guidelines) is not only an important breakthrough point for promoting urban transformation to sustainable urban regeneration and governance, but also the foundation of optimizing capital city construction and building a world-class, harmonious, and livable capital city. Taking full consideration of value orientation, technical methods, system design, and governance transformation, the Guidelines adopts five measures, including identity enhancement, coordinated design, enhancing cultural and aesthetic quality, building platforms, and managing "stubborn diseases" - problems which have plagued people for many years and have been intensifying with years to pass, to comprehensively improve the street design and governance, in the hope of making it a real typical space that represents the image and cultural charm of the capital city.
