This study examines the short-run and long-run impacts of foreign aid and remittances on economic growth in a panel of 31 African countries from 1980 to 2019 utilizing the ARDL Pool Mean Group (PMG) estimation technique. The PMG is utilized based on the outcome of the Hausman test which justifies it appropriateness. There is long-run association among the regressors and the regressand in the model. Our results indicate that, in the short-run, remittance and foreign aid respectively have a negative impact on economic growth but that impact is statistically insignificant. In the long-run, however, remittances have a positive and significant impact on economic growth while foreign aid has a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth on the continent. These results have substantial policy implications. African governments should adopt effective policies to maximize the usefulness and effectiveness of foreign capital, such as foreign aid and remittances, in boosting economic growth. This study investigates the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows and economic growth at sectoral levels in Bangladesh, employing a panel study framework. Utilizing sectoral-level panel data spanning six sectors from 2007–08 to 2018–19, the analysis is conducted using Panel Vector Error Correction Model (Panel VECM). Results from panel unit root tests confirm that all variables are integrated of order one I (1), indicating stationarity. The Pedroni panel co-integration test further supports the presence of co-integration among the variables. Notably, the Panel VECM reveals evidence of a unidirectional causal relationship from Real Gross Domestic Product (RGDP) to Real Foreign Direct Investment (RFDI) across all six sectors of Bangladesh. The findings underscore the significance of formulating pragmatic policies and implementing them effectively to attract FDI across sectors, thereby contributing to the overall economic growth of Bangladesh. Background: Recent years have witnessed a growing interest among academics and policymakers in understanding the mechaninsms through which Chinese outward direct investment (OFDI) impact economic growth in Africa. Method: This study utilzes a dataset spanning 41 African countries from 2005 to 2020,employing panel‐corrected standard error (PCSE) and quantile regression. Objective: This study explore the mechanisms through which Chinese OFDI stock contributes to economic growth in Africa,with a particular focus on financial development and transport infrastructure. Results: The results indicate a significant and positive impact of the interaction between Chinese OFDI stock and both financial development and transport infrastructure on economic growth. The subregional analysis reveals varying correlations across regions, while the quantile regression analysis demonstrates a stronger effect on economic growth as we move to higher quantiles. Conclusion: The study underscores the importance of enhancing infrastructure and financial sector development to attract more Chinese OFDI and maximize its positive impact of economic growth in African nations. Hence, we recommend that African countries improve the infrastructure and financial sector of their country to attract more chinese OFDI and also enhance its effectiveness on their economic growth. Countries devote a lot of time and effort to develop economically, but they nevertheless struggle to attain that growth consistently. Research into economic growth should have provided some guidance as to which actions these countries should adopt, but multiple studies using different methods and datasets generally have led to an array of outcomes that contradict one another. However, Granger causality analysis can provide better insight into the relationship between some key variables and economic growth to give these countries more direction. Granger causality results establish a stronger connection between variables, even though they do not depict true causation. We therefore use a Vector Auto Regression method with Generalized Method of Moments estimation and then Grangercausality to discover how commonly used variables in the literature individually impact economic growth and in what way for a selection of OECD and non-OECD countries. We choose government expenditure, foreign direct investment (FDI), education (as a proxy for human capital), population growth, urbanization, and trade openness as our variables of interest. We also utilize updated datasets from the World Development Indicators (WDI) ranging from the years 2000-2016, based on the availability of the data. We find that FDI and population growth do Granger-cause economic development for OECD countries but that government expenditures, education, urbanization, and trade openness do not show such Granger causality. However economic growth Granger-causes government expenditures, FDI, and education for these OECD countries. For the non-OECD countries, we find that FDI, population growth, and trade openness Granger-cause growth but Granger causality does not occur from government expenditure, education, and urbanization to economic development. Yet similar to the OECD countries, economic growth does Granger-cause FDI and trade openness for the non-OECD countries as well. The overall results indicate that all countries should encourage the expansion of foreign direct investment to grow their economy, which then in turn can lead to additional investment as well as more resources available for the country as a whole. We also suggest further studies should focus on the economic development of individual countries rather than regions, particularly in terms of how technology can drive growth and impact these other variables. This study examines the important manifestations of economic globalization, such as increased international trade, inward foreign direct investment (FDI), and air passenger transport (PAX) on economic growth and environmental quality in Southeast Asian countries. The results of data analysis for the period 1990–2019 using the panel autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL) have confirmed the long run impact of these factors on economic growth and environmental quality (the reduction of CO2 emissions into the environment per unit of production) in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, international trade and PAX positively affect economic growth in both groups of lower-middle-income countries and upper-middle and high-income countries. Inward FDI, however, only has a positive effect on economic growth for the group of lower-middle-income in the short run. In the long run, it has a negative impact. On the other hand, when the manifestations of economic globalization increase, they lead to an increase in CO2 emissions, but there is a decrease in this ratio per unit of production in the long run and in most countries in the short run. This study examines the dynamic relationship between good governance and economic growth in Oman. The research uses financial and macroeconomic data to assess this relationship and test the proposed hypotheses. The data and variables are analyzed using EViews software, employing the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model. The study findings reveal that the Foreign Investment Competitive Index significantly moderates economic growth, albeit with some adverse effects. The findings of this study have important implications for policymakers seeking to foster Oman's economic growth. First, the study suggests that the government should improve good governance, particularly transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. Second, the study suggests that the government should improve the Foreign Investment Competitive Index. These steps include reducing bureaucratic red tape, improving the legal framework for foreign investment, and providing incentives for foreign investors. The findings of this study also have implications for scholars investigating governance and economic growth. The study provides empirical evidence of the link between good governance and economic growth, and it suggests that the Foreign Investment Competitive Index plays a moderating role in this relationship. The growing demand for digitalization in different economic sectors has garnered considerable attention from researchers to explore the effects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on economic growth. In this study, we explore the direct and indirect effects of ICT on economic growth, through its interaction with institutional quality, financial development, research and development (R&D) expenditures, and foreign direct investment (FDI), for 13 emerging economies from 2000 to 2020. We find that ICT use has a significantly positive effect on economic growth. It is found that the interaction effects of ICT with financial development and R&D expenditures are favorable to economic growth, whereas ICT does not act synergistically with institutional quality and FDI. This implies that the emerging economies should increase R&D expenditures on ICT services and increase digitalization of the financial sector, along with advancing their ICT infrastructure, strengthening the institutional quality, and encouraging more FDI inflows to maintain their growth momentum. We investigated the effects of international financial inflows (remittances, foreign direct investment and foreign aid) on economic complexity in Africa and the moderation role of institutional quality. We used the dynamic system GMM framework for a panel of 31 African countries over the period 2010–2020. We find that these international financial inflows are significant drivers of economic complexity in Africa, and that institutional quality is significantly moderating and enhancing their effects on economic complexity. Among other recommendations, we encourage policymakers in Africa to continually create an enabling environment to attract these financial inflows in order to promote sustainable investment and economic growth. Foreign investment can increase economic growth and create prosperity in a country. However, sometimes foreign investment can increase economic growth and fail to create prosperity. This problem is of course related to the laws governing foreign investment. This article wants to discuss the regulations in law regarding the role of foreign investments in increasing economic growth and creating prosperity in Indonesia. Regulations in Indonesian law and experience show that foreign investment is widely open to enter Indonesia so it is felt to be able to encourage economic growth. However, Indonesia's experience in practice shows that things often happen that cause some people to suffer because of the presence of foreign investment. From the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the regulations in the foreign investment law in Indonesia still prioritize economic growth, while the aspect of achieving people's welfare from the presence of foreign investment receives less attention. Therefore, it would be better if the investment laws were revised to create a balance between economic growth and prosperity. The world's climate‐related policies need to be revised to combat environmental issues. Therefore, adopting renewable energy technologies in conjunction with energy efficiency measures are needed to make safe pathways to reduce over 90% of energy related CO2. In this context, this study intends to assess the influence of foreign direct investment (FDI), economic growth, and banking and development on renewable energy consumption in South Africa from 1970 to 2020. The study uses a novel 'bootstrap Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL)' testing to empirically analyse the short and long links among the tested variables. The ARDL estimations demonstrate a FDI and economic growth have positive effect on renewable energy consumption. Furthermore, the outcomes reveal that banking sector development affects positively renewable energy use in long run. Therefore, it is suggested that government and playmakers of South Africa must make more efforts to link the economic and baking development with renewable energy by investing capital and funds in renewable energy infrastructure. It will not only boost the economy of the country but also provide an opportunity to clean and green the environment with decreasing rate of greenhouse gases emission like carbon dioxide. Following the approval of sustainable development goals at the global level, the link between fiscal policy, institutional quality, and economic growth has attracted special attention in economic literature. This study scrutinizes the effect of government revenue-institutional quality interaction on the economic growth of 43 Sub-Saharan Africa countries for the period of 2012–2022. Methodology-wise, the study employed the System Generalized Method of Moment (SGMM) to analyze the panel data gained from dependable data sources; the World Development Indicator and the Heritage Economic Freedom Index. The novelty of this study emanates from the estimation technique designated and the introduction of revenue-institutional quality into the economic growth model of SSA. The result of the study reveals that government revenue adversely affects economic growth while institutional quality positively enhances economic growth before interacting with each other. However, the interactive coefficient of government revenue and economic growth positively affected the real GDP growth rate of SSA countries over the study periods. Precisely, before interacting with institutional quality, a percentage change in government revenue, keeping all other things constant, leads to a 0.0866 percent decline in economic growth while it marks a 0.2329 percent upsurge in economic growth in the presence of institutional quality. The result of the study further shows that government revenue promotes the economic growth of the region when combined with institutional quality. On the other hand, foreign direct investment and openness to trade were the key sources of economic growth whereas the population growth rate adversely impacted economic growth in SSA countries. The policy implication of the study is that SSA needs to strengthen government revenue management. Further, the finding of the study implies that SSA countries need to improve institutional quality through promoting efficiency of the regulatory quality and the size of the SSA governments. In addition to this, the fast real GDP growth rate of SSA countries demands improved institutional quality indicators such as the rule of law and extended access to the open market. Globally, science, technology and innovation are gaining prominence. Research and development (R&D) is India’s main driving force for sustainable economic growth. The ‘Make in India’ (MII) initiative by the Government of India (GoI) motivates the Indian manufacturing sector with aim to make India a global centre for manufacturing via foreign investors. In this regard, India became a hub for foreign investors with a 76% rise in the foreign direct investment (FDI) equity inflow of the manufacturing sector from financial year (FY) 2020–21 (USD 12.09 billion) to FY 2021–22. One of the key objectives of MII is job creation and skill enhancement in the country. In this context, the Department of Science and Technology, GoI, continuously contributes to improving the science and technology infrastructure through several funding programmes. Global economies are facing geopolitical and ongoing economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings back the topic of growth determinants. This study focuses on the United States, the world's largest economy and a significant recipient of foreign direct investment (FDI). For this reason, we analysed whether there is a positive correlation between the volume of FDI inflows and the growth of gross domestic product (GDP). A multiple linear regression (MLR) model was used to examine the effects of various exogenous control variables on the quarterly GDP growth in the USA from 1999 to 2022. During these 96 quarters, FDI was found to have a positive effect on GDP growth at statistical significance of 5% (p < 0.05). Specifically, a one-million increase in FDI ceteris paribus caused an estimated GDP growth of approximately 743.43 dollars. The results ultimately propose positive implications for less developed countries that could utilize emphasising their FDI management policies to achieve higher economic growth. Remittances from migrant workers are the major sources of financial inflows into the Nepalese economy. The World Bank's data of 2021 suggests that Nepal is one of the top ten recipients of remittances in terms of its share of GDP. Even though remittances make up a significant portion of foreign capital flows, the macroeconomic impact of these transfers on economic growth has not been sufficiently studied. Therefore, the aim of our study is to investigate the impact of remittances on the Nepalese economy for the period 1990 -2021 using the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model. The ARDL approach is applied to identify the long-term and short-term effects of worker remittances on the Nepalese economy. The model uses real GDP as a proxy for economic growth and uses workers' remittances as main explanatory variable along with gross fixed capital formation, trade openness, foreign aid, and human capital as the control variables. The findings of the bound test suggest that there is a long-run relationship between remittances and economic growth. Furthermore, it is also demonstrated that remittances, gross fixed capital formation and foreign aid have a positive effect on real GDP. While we found a negative effect of trade openness and human capital on real GDP in short run and long run dynamics. The positive influence of remittances appears to be very weak, as a significant portion of remittances to Nepal are used for private domestic consumption. Moreover, the negative contribution of imports to economic growth suggests that a larger portion of remittances is spent on daily consumption and consumer durable items such as television, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioning, and so on. Based on the analysis of the results, Nepal needs to develop an integrated policy to motivate migrants in intensity of saving and investment on multiple productive sectors rather spending on basic consumption. In doing so, such practice helps in channelising the remittances into economic growth through the multiplier effect. The transaction cost of remitting money is another challenging issue in Nepal. This study assessed the moderating effects of security threats on investment-economic growth nexus in Nigeria from 1986 to 2021 using the Vector Error Correction Model approach. Domestic investment and FDI were found to have a positive impact on Nigeria's long-term economic growth. The study also found that security threats have a strong negative effect on economic growth in Nigeria, and that the presence of security threats significantly reduced the positive influence of investment on economic growth in Nigeria. Thus, the marginal effects of investment when there are security threats in Nigeria was worsened. The study therefore emphasized that security threats significantly hinder the positive contributions of domestic and foreign investments to economic growth, especially foreign direct investment. Therefore, the study recommends that Nigerian government should enhance security measures to combat political instability, terrorism, and social unrest in order to create a more favourable business environment and encourage both domestic and foreign investment. For the purpose of this paper, we examine the association between foreign direct investment, openness to trade, infrastructure, innovation, and economic development in 10 members of the Commonwealth Independent States between 2000 and 2020 using a panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag model. According to the results, none of the elements that are researched for this paper has a statistically significant influence on economic growth over the short term. On the other hand, in the long run, each of the variables, including foreign direct investment, infrastructure, innovation, and trade openness, has a statistically favorable and substantial impact on economic growth; furthermore, the findings are in line with the findings of the baseline static panel data models. It is crucial to examine the impact between foreign direct investment (FDI) and net exports (NE) for unveiling international trade dynamics, and the economic development of different geographical regions. It yields sharp insights into how FDI inflows, driven by theories such as backward linkage, export platform, and knowledge transfer, enhance a host country's export capacity and contribute to economic growth. Moreover, studying the reciprocal linkages between FDI and NE helps recognise the aspects of domestic factors, such as productivity and the product life cycle, in attracting FDI and increasing export performance. Based on those theories, the study aims to ascertain the dynamic causality or correlation between FDI and NE across all regions with the utilisation of panel data gathered from 110 countries, considering the period from 2002 to 2020. The Wavelet coherence method is used to investigate the relationship between these variables across different frequencies and periods, followed by a Granger causality test. The findings demonstrated that FDI and NE have a significant relationship in most regions, with a bidirectional relationship between FDI and NE across all continents. The results could assist respective governments and policymakers in formulating policies related to FDI flows and offer insights into how a host country can attract more FDI and boost NE. Objective: The objective of this paper was to analyze the bidirectional relationship between financial development and economic growth for a dataset of Latin American and Asian developing countries between 2001 and 2019. Method: This research employed an empirical approach to analyze the statistical relationship between financial development and economic growth, by presenting an estimation of a system of simultaneous equations for a panel of Asian and Latin American countries using 3SLS. Main Results: The results presented in this research provided evidence that financial development does not appear to have a significant impact on economic growth, although growth appears to have a significant and positive influence on financial development. Moreover, the results also suggested that regulatory quality and domestic credit directed to the private sector have a positive effect on economic growth, while urbanization and education showed a negative influence on growth. The estimated model also indicated that urbanization has a positive influence on financial development while foreign direct investment presented a negative effect on the development of the financial sector. Relevance / Originality: Most of the research agenda on the topic of finance and growth has focused on identifying correlation or causality between these variables, with little attention given to the simultaneous relationship between them. This is still a clear gap in economic literature. Following this premise, the objective of this paper was to analyze the bidirectional relationship between financial development and growth by estimating a system of simultaneous equations using the Zellner and Theil’s (1962) 3SLS methodology. In this sense, the main contribution will be given empirically, based on data and analysis from emerging countries in Latin America and Asia. The fact that financial development has an influence on growth and growth plays a role on the development of the financial sector indicates a simultaneous relationship between these variables. Another relevant contribution is to update the debate on financial systems and economic development for emerging countries, highlighting institutional aspects and financial cycles. Theoretical / Methodological Contributions: The main contribution of this study is in the empirical strategy, whose results dialogue with part of the literature on the financial system and development presented along the text. The aim of this study is to explore the impact of economic growth (GDP), energy consumption, foreign direct investment, oil price, and exports on carbon emissions by employing yearly time series data for Italy for the period 1971–2019. For this purpose, we employed the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model and wavelet coherence approach to analyze the interconnections among variables. The cointegration results confirm the long-run association between our variables. Our findings show that GDP has a positive impact on carbon emissions, while the square of GDP has a negative impact, thus confirming the presence of the EKC hypothesis. Further, oil prices have a detrimental impact on carbon emissions both in the long- and short-term; on the contrary, foreign direct investment, energy consumption, and exports promote environmental degradation. We present a country-specific analysis on the effect of tourism on the economic growth of five small Pacific Island Countries (PICs) – Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. The results show tourism development is growth-enhancing for all five countries. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is growth-enhancing for Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, and in the short run, a delayed negative association for Fiji and Vanuatu is found. Remittances are growth-retarding for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, with a short-run delayed positive association for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. Financial development is growth-retarding for Solomon Islands and Tonga, with a short-run positive association for Fiji and Samoa. While the results underscore the huge importance of tourism in generating growth and FDI in the Pacific, given the ongoing adverse effects of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, PICs will have to focus on alternative sectors to progress economic activities. During the last decades, several authors have been concerned about the relationship between foreign direct investment and the economic growth of a country. This work aims to identify if there is a correlation among these economic indicators, using China as study country. The foreign investment and economic growth relationship in developing countries have attracted considerable attention in comparative international sociology. However, despite nearly fifty years of research, this relationship is still not well understood. I bring new cross-national evidence to bear upon this issue with analyses that improve upon previous research on the foreign direct investment and economic growth nexus in developing countries. I analyze cross-national longitudinal data using panel regression models with fixed effects and instrumental variables to account for possible endogeneity. Foreign capital penetration appears to be positively associated with economic growth in developing countries, which supports the expectations of neoclassical economic theory. Rather than critiquing any particular theoretical paradigm, this research hopefully serves to help reinvigorate scholarly discussion amongst comparative international social scientists regarding the economic growth effects of foreign direct investment in developing countries. Economic growth characterizes the quantitative changes that occur in economic variables and attributed to overall increase in production per capital. This study examined the economic impact of exchange rate, foreign direct investment, inflation rate and the trade balance on Nigeria GDP over the period of 1970-2022. The dynamic causal association among the selected macroeconomic variables and economic growth in Nigeria was evaluated via the implementation of vector error correction model (VECM) procedures and impulse response functions. The VECM estimates and the impulse response shows that the response of GDP to inflation and exchange rates is positive while the response of GDP to a one period shock to the trade balance yields a marginal negative depreciation. The result justifies that the place of Exchange rate, Inflation and Trade Balance to Nigeria economic growth cannot be overstated. The results of the work suggest that to promote stable and sustainable economic growth, policy makers should lay more emphasis on encouraging stable and reasonable exchange rate. Also, the work recommends that to promote economic growth and keep inflation low in Nigeria, Anti-inflationary policies should be accompanied to attract foreign investors and frustrate capital fleeing from the country. The production and export of high-tech products have strategic importance for countries. The technological content of the exported products is an indicator of countries technology level. Therefore, it is important the relationship between high- tech product exports and economic growth among studies based on export-oriented growth strategy. The aim of this study is to reveal the effect of high-tech products exports on economic growth in the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for the period of 2008-2020 with panel data analysis method. In this context, different independent variables were included in the analysis and economic growth was determined as the dependent variable and the Panel ARDL/PMG (Pooled Average Group) method was applied. The relationship between economic growth, high-tech products export, research and development expenditures and foreign direct investments in 26 selected OECD member countries has been analysed. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is one of the instruments that plays an important role in the economic development and economic growth of countries. Apart from the physical capital and competitiveness they add to the countries, they are structures that contain many advantages such as employment, technology, management and the concept of supervision. They include a commitment to a long-term business effort in a foreign country. Therefore, where they prefer as a location depends on many criteria. This study focuses on measuring the performance of selected G-20 countries in terms of inward FDI flows. In this context, the factors affecting inward FDI flows in countries were compiled using literature and investment reports, and the collected data were evaluated by applying the COPRAS (Complex Proportional Assessment) method. Developing countries are strongly interested in attracting foreign direct investment to improve the lack of capital and finance economic growth. To do this, they usually implement less stringent environmental policies for foreign investment. However, this strategy comes with the expense of more pollution and environmental disasters in some cases. This study aims to reveal the relationship between foreign investment, growth, and environmental pollution. However, the type of investment matters when it comes to pollution. Thus, we consider the components of foreign investment as greenfield and brownfield investments, where the former is an investment made from scratch and the latter is a purchase of an existing firm. The empirical analysis covers the period between 1990 and 2020. The primary data sources are the World Bank and OECD. We used three VAR models to investigate the effects of greenfield and brownfield investments on carbon emission and growth. We highlight that the change in total foreign direct investment and greenfield variables was statistically significant in explaining the change in CO2 emissions, but brownfield investments were found to be statistically insignificant in explaining CO2 emissions. The idea behind the spillover effect of FDI on economic growth is based on the idea that multinational companies can bring technological innovation and rich knowledge to host countries. Therefore, FDI plays a vital role in technological innovations. This study aims to investigate the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the technological innovation of BRICS countries from 2000 to 2020. This study uses the latest econometric techniques, such as the cross-sectional dependence (CD) test, second-generation unit root tests, panel cointegration tests and the Dumitrescu-Hurlin causality test. For long-run run estimation, this study uses the augmented mean group (AMG) panel estimator and the common correlated effects mean group (CCEMG) estimator for empirical analysis. The findings of the study show that foreign direct investment (FDI), trade openness, economic growth, and research & development expenditure positively impact technological innovation in BRICS countries. Also, the model's long-term causality and lagged error correction term (ECT) are significantly negative. This paper investigates the relationship between geothermal energy consumption, economic growth, and foreign direct investments in countries where geothermal energy production is possible. Panel Fourier Granger causality and panel Fourier Toda–Yamamoto causality tests (2020–2021) were applied, which can take into account smooth transitional structural breaks with trigonometric functions using quarterly data for the period 2016 Q1–2020 Q3. Data were obtained from the International Energy Agency (IEA), Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED), and the OECD official website. According to the results obtained based on panels, there is one-way causality from economic growth to geothermal energy and one-way causality from geothermal energy consumption to foreign direct investments. The results obtained based on individual countries indicate that one-way causality from foreign direct investment to geothermal energy consumption was found for Mexico and Portugal, and one-way causality from geothermal energy consumption to economic growth was found for Italy and Mexico. On the other hand, causality from economic growth to geothermal energy consumption was observed for Germany, Japan, and USA. No significant results were found for Turkey and New Zealand, and it is understood that the macroeconomic structures of these countries are not affected by geothermal energy. Through some empirical studies, the flow of FDI and trade openness have proven to support economic growth in developing countries. This paper examines the significance of FDI and trade openness in five African countries (Ghana, Morocco, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia). The study employed the panel data analysis method using data from the World Bank for the period 1994-2019 for the five selected countries. The result from the Random effect model indicated that FDI positively supports growth, whereas trade openness harms economic growth in these countries. The outcome further revealed that Uganda enjoys more significance than the other countries using the countries' dummies through the pooled model estimation. The primary objective of this study is to examine the direct effect of sports tourism, FDI inflows, and legal restrictions on alcohol consumption during sporting events on the economic development of Arab Gulf nations. The study also investigated the moderating effect of alcohol consumption during sporting events on the relationship between sports tourism and economic growth. The panel data methodology and fixed effect are utilized in the study, and GMM estimates are utilized for data analysis. The data for variables from 1995 to 2022 come from the databases of the world bank and national statistical offices. FDI, sports FDI, the organization of mega sports events, alcohol consumption, and sports tourism all appeared to have a positive relationship with economic growth, as indicated by the fixed effect estimates. However, there is no correlation between alcohol consumption and economic growth. The findings of the GMM estimates corroborate those of the fixed effect estimates. Further findings indicate that the relationship between sports tourism and alcohol consumption is positive and statistically significant, which suggests that allowing alcohol consumption in the presence of sports tourism will boost the economic development of Arab Gulf nations. In Arab Gulf countries, where alcohol is frequently regarded as incompatible with religious and cultural values, it is vital to consider the potential cultural and social consequences of alcohol consumption. Therefore, any policy decisions regarding the legality of alcohol consumption in these nations should be thoroughly weighed against other social and cultural concerns. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la evolución de las relaciones comerciales y de las inversiones entre la Argentina y China en la posconvertibilidad. En lo que respecta a las exportaciones argentinas, el comercio con China muestra un patrón de primarización mayor en relación con otros socios comerciales. En el mercado interno argentino, los efectos negativos de la competencia china para la producción nacional están acotados a sectores específicos. Sin embargo, se destaca un desplazamiento significativo de las exportaciones argentinas hacia el Brasil por parte de la competencia china. En lo relativo a la inversión extranjera directa, esta se concentra en la búsqueda de recursos naturales, con escasos derrames productivos y tecnológicos. Foreign direct investment (FDI) plays a paramount role in economic and social growth of every country. FDI acts as a source of external capital and helps in economic growth of the host country. Making decision for FDI during uncertain business environment is a challenge for all stakeholders. Therefore, in this study, we are proposing a decision making framework for FDI. Through literature review, we have identified the factors, on which FDI depends. A process‐based, multi‐criterion, integrated hierarchical approach for deciding about FDI, has been illustrated. In this study, five sectors are considered, that is, petroleum and natural resource, retailing and e‐commerce, healthcare, information technology, and road and highways for illustrating the proposed framework. It is observed that information technology sector has got top priority for FDI followed by retailing and e‐commerce and health care sector. Findings will help in taking appropriate decision by stakeholders for FDI. Ultimately it will also help in creating employment, economic growth, and welfare of society at large in the host country. Financial inclusion is critical to inclusive growth, proffering policy solutions to eradicate the barriers that exclude individuals from financial markets. This study explores the effects of financial inclusion on economic growth in a global perspective with a large number of panels classified by income and regional levels from 2002–2020. The analysis begins with the development of a comprehensive composite financial inclusion index comprised of penetration, availability, and usage of financial services and the estimation of heterogeneous panel data models augmented with well-known variables. The results obtained from the panel cointegration test support a long-run relationship between economic growth, financial inclusion, and the control variables in the full panel, income-level, and regional-level economies. Furthermore, the study employs a GMM (generalized method of moment) approach using System-GMM estimators to examine the effects of financial inclusion and the control predictors on economic growth. The results of the GMM model clearly indicate that financial inclusion has a significantly positive impact on economic growth across all panels, implying that financial inclusion is an effective tool in fostering rapid economic growth in the world. Finally, the study delves into the causality relationship between the predictors and provides statistical evidence of bidirectional causality between economic growth and financial inclusion, whereas it only supports unidirectional causality relationships from credit to the private sector, foreign direct investment, inflation rate, the rule of law, school enrollment ratio, and trade openness with no feedback causality. This study examines the causal nexus between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the economic growth of seven (7) regions encompassing 117 countries. A more recent panel dataset over the period 2010–2020 was analysed using the Granger causality approach and panel VAR/block exogeneity test to conduct predictive analysis among the panel series. Wavelet coherence techniques too were adapted in bringing novelty and further justifications to the research in exploring the interaction effects of the variables, which are yet to be popularised in the studied discipline. The empirical results indicate the presence of bi-directional causality between FDI and economic growth globally and in the Asian region. In contrast, the causality is uni-directional in the American region. A non-directional causality was discovered in European, Oceanian, Mediterranean, and African regions, and the findings were consistent with the outcome of the wavelet coherence technique results. The study further classifies the regions into three cross-market categories such as developed, emerging and frontier markets. The results imply no causality for most developed and emerging economies in the regional analysis. Findings also provide insights for governments and policymakers worldwide to formulate policies on directing FDI flows and propositions for a host country to become a more conducive destination for FDI and accelerate economic growth. The present study investigates the effects of renewable energy, nonrenewable energy, and foreign direct investment (FDI) on output growth in the five South Asian economies. For this purpose, a panel growth model has developed over the period 1990–2018. Pedroni cointegration estimates indicate that renewable, nonrenewable energy, FDI, and gross domestic product (GDP) are cointegrated. The results from the panel fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) depict the nonrenewable energy stimulates output growth. FDI also has a positive impact on output growth. Besides, the empirical results confirm that renewable energy has a significant and positive impact on output growth in the South Asian economies. Thailand has been productive in attracting FDI flows since the beginning of economic development in 1986. It is to continue to increase inward FDI, thus the objective of this research is to investigate the inward FDI on economic growth in Thailand. The main question is what determinants attract, promote, and sustain the inward FDI in Thailand. In addition, this research also adapts the concept of the eclectic paradigm to establish the research framework. The 22 independent variables which are grouped into 4 factors such as human capital, economic, infrastructure, and policy and related factors. The correlation result shows the positive relative strength and direction of a linear relationship among independent variables at the 1% level of significance. A total data collection between 1981 and 2021 were collected various sources such as worldbank, board of investment of Thailand, stock exchange of Thailand, bank of Thailand, International Monetary Fund, UNCTAD, and office of national economic and social development board. The results show 11 variables are positive and significant, but 2 variables are negative and significant. This paper analyses the intensity of the influence of foreign direct investments, exports of goods and services, and research and development expenditure on GDP growth of developed and developing countries. Panel regression analysis determined that the exports of goods and services make the largest contribution to growth on middle levels of income. In fact, the contribution the export of goods and services makes to growth on middle levels of income is two times larger than in countries with a high GDP. The most essential impact on countries with a high GDP level was made by research and development expenditure, which is 3.5 times larger than its impact on the developing Balkan countries. The phenomenon of the Middle-Income Trap can be explained by insufficient research and development expenditure. Foreign direct investments are not statistically significant for the GDP growth of observed countries, but they achieve far better results on low development levels. Fiscal credibility plays an important role in creating favorable scenarios for investment and economic growth. Adequate management of public finances can be decisive in the perception of country risk and the attraction of foreign capital. The aim of this paper is to build a fiscal credibility index and evaluate its impact on investment expectations in Colombia for the 2005-2019 period. Using monthly data on fiscal credibility, investment expectations, and a set of control variables, estimates were made using OLS and GMM methods. Robustness tests were performed using impulse-response functions. The findings reveal that fiscal credibility directly influences the investment decisions of private agents, and that local interest rates and international volatility negatively affect investors' expectations. This research study examines the factors that determined economic growth measured by gross domestic product, gross value added, final consumption expenditure of households, and gross fixed capital formation across a sample of 36 European countries during the time frame Q3 2018−Q3 2021. We conducted a panel data analysis with the first-difference generalized method of moments (GMM) approach and cross-section fixed effects. Empirical results estimated with four econometric models indicated a significant robust impact of the independent variables exports, imports, foreign direct investment inflow, foreign direct investment outflow, social contributions, and wages on economic growth proxies. In addition, multiplex network analysis was used to investigate the connection architectures of the 36 countries, and it yielded statistical measurements for all layers in the multi-layered structure. Previous studies have shown that pathwise outward foreign direct investment can promote the long-term economic growth of developed economies and some developing countries with sufficient technology, human capital, and financial efficiency. However, the contribution of inverse outward foreign direct investment from developing countries, especially China, on the economic growth of developed economies has not yet been demonstrated. Based on the endogenous growth theory, this article uses panel data of China's inverse outward foreign direct investment and economic growth indicators of 26 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development countries from 2003 to 2017 to empirically study the contribution of China's inverse outward foreign direct investment to the economic growth of developed economies and its mechanism, and furthermore to study the mediation effect of research and development capital and technological advances in the contribution. The empirical results show that China's inverse outward foreign direct investment has a significant contribution to the economic growth of developed host countries, with a contribution rate of 3.01%. The contribution rate of the mediating effect is 24.3% when only considering technological advances and 54.34% when considering the multiple mediators of research and development capital and technological advances. This paper examines the relationship between total factor productivity, trade openness, and foreign direct investment to economic growth in 90 middle-income countries from 1990 to 2020. We employ the Generalized Method of Moments with country and period fixed effects to overcome heteroscedasticity and endogeneity issues. The findings indicate a percentage increase in net FDI inflows and Trade Openness improves economic growth by 0.13% and 0.19%, respectively. However, total factor productivity negatively impacts growth due to the improper allocation of resources across sectors. Our paper contributes policy implications to develop economies sustainably. This paper aims to determine whether economic complexity influences the efficacy of inward foreign direct investment (FDI). To this end, in the context of a theoretical framework, we estimate a model that relates economic growth to the flow as well as the stock of FDI while taking into account the role of complexity of the economy (measured by the Economic Complexity Index). This index captures the capabilities that are embodied in the productive structure of the economy. Our empirical work shows that economic complexity influences the growth effect of FDI on the host countries. Between 1980 and 2020, the study looks at "An Empirical Analysis of the Effects of Population Growth on Economic Growth in Ethiopia Using an Autoregressive Distributive Lag (ARDL) Model Approach." The appraisal coefficient of population growth (POP) and the implication is positive and significant, according to the findings of this study. However, in response to the long-term association between population expansion and economic growth in Ethiopia, the macroeconomic variables were subjected to a limit test and a broader causality test. From the finding of bound test, since the value of F-statics is greater than the upper boundary line, there are long run equilibrium relationships among RGDP, population size, foreign direct investment, personal remittance, population growth rate, rate of inflation, and gross capital formation. According to the findings of the Granger causality test, real gross domestic product can cause Ethiopian population size (POP), but population number (POP) cannot cause real gross domestic product at the same time. The motivation of doing this research was to know the sign and effects of population growth on economic growth. Finally, in order to boost Ethiopia's economic growth, the government should implement policies that would attract foreign investors. This research analyzed the relationship between openness to agricultural exchange, foreign direct investment, capital, consumer price index, and GDP in Pakistan utilizing time series data for the 1971-2019 period. We used autoregressive distributed lag ARDL-bound testing method to analyze the long-run and short-run correlation between projected variables. The study's findings also confirmed a positive and important long-term correlation between openness to agricultural trade, foreign direct investment and Pakistan's economic development. This study investigates the impact and transmission mechanism of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows on the economic growth of city clusters. Via theoretical analysis, a spatial Durbin model (SDM) and mediating effect model are applied based on panel data of the three major city clusters in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) from 1997 to 2018. The results reveal the following: (1) FDI inflows promote the economic growth of city clusters in the YREB, but the degrees of impacts on the three city clusters are different; (2) the spatial effects of FDI inflows differ across city clusters; the effects are negative in city clusters of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River Middle Reaches, and positive in the Chengdu-Chongqing city cluster; (3) urbanization and industrial structure upgrading are two important mechanisms by which FDI inflows promote the economic growth of city clusters. However, there are differences among the three major city clusters; the intermediary effect of urbanization is more significant in city clusters of Chengdu-Chongqing and the Yangtze River Middle Reaches, while the intermediary effect of industrial structure upgrading is more significant in the Yangtze River Delta and Chengdu-Chongqing city clusters. The need for economic development has preoccupied policymakers over the years. Especially the global south such as Nigeria, which is plagued with infrastructural deficit and less foreign direct investment and financial development attraction. This has drawn the attention of stakeholders and government officials for exploration of alternative routes for sustainable development, which is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals‐8 (UNSDG's). Thus, the current study focuses on the FDI‐led economic growth hypothesis if it holds or not for the case of Nigeria. The present study is distinct from previous studies in terms of scope by incorporation of more covariates, which has seemed to have been overlooked in the FDI argument. To this end, the current study re‐investigates the connection between FDI, financial development, total labour force, gross capital formation, and economic growth using Nigeria as a representation for Africa and Sub‐Saharan states specifically. Annual time‐series data from 1970 to 2018 is adopted for the econometrics analysis. Our study interest variables are foreign direct investment, economic expansion (GDP). The present study inculcates two additional financial development indicators; from the banking, and financial sectors. Using a battery of unit root and stationarity tests the study explores the stationarity properties of the outlined variables. Subsequently, the novel and recent robust Bayer and Hanck (2013) combined cointegration test in conjunction with Pesaran's ARDL bounds test was used to investigate the equilibrium relationship and regression analysis. While the Toda‐Yamamoto Granger causality was used to detect the direction of causality analysis among the variables. Empirical investigation traces a long‐run equilibrium relationship among the variables over the sampled period. Furthermore, empirical results show that FDI influences GDP, which suggests that FDI influences economic growth which is indicative of policymakers. Similarly, empirical outcomes establish a significant relationship between GDP and Financial Development from banking‐sector which is also corroborated in the causality results as an indirect causality is seen running from GCF to the financial sector. These outcomes suggest that FDI and Financial development are good predictors for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
