Simultaneously achieving economic development and environmental protection is a shared global challenge. While the positive effect of environmental regulations on protecting the environment has been widely recognized, the attention paid to low-carbon governance and corporate green transformation remains insufficient. Based on the two-stage least square regression model (2SLS) of instrumental variables, this paper utilizes panel data from China to identify the influence mechanism of government low-carbon governance on enterprise green development. It explores the effect of low-carbon governance on enterprise green development from the perspective of fiscal decentralization. The findings show that (1) Low-carbon governance significantly promotes corporate green development, primarily through improving industrial structure and technological innovation; (2) Low-carbon governance notably promotes the green development of private enterprises but has little effect on state-owned enterprises. There are also geographical differences, and the results are better in Eastern China than in the Central and Western parts of China; (3) Fiscal decentralization at both central and local levels inhibits the effect of low-carbon governance on driving corporate green development by causing a mismatch of human resources. Therefore, to promote corporate green development, low-carbon governance must prioritize green development, actively guide industrial structural upgrading and enterprise technological innovation, implement differentiated low-carbon governance measures tailored to different ownership enterprises, and optimize the assessment indicators for fiscal decentralization. This paper helps deepen the understanding of the relationship between government low-carbon governance and enterprise green development in developing countries. Under the influence of the dual policies of sustainable economic development and the national dual-carbon target, the establishment of an environmental protection department for the treatment of heavily polluting industries is imminent, and the country has launched pollution control policies and regulations to restrict the emission rights of heavily polluting industries. Therefore, this paper focuses on whether the restriction of emission rights in key industries has reduced carbon emissions. To achieve this, this paper uses panel data of prefecture-level cities in China from 2006 to 2019 and adopts a two-way fixed-effects DID model to systematically analyze the impact of the key pollution industry governance policies launched by the Ministry of Environmental Protection on CO2 emissions in 2017. And further analyze the role of variables such as green technology innovation patents and energy efficiency using this model, while parallel trend tests and placebo tests, and related policies are used to ensure the robustness of the regression results. This paper reveals that: (1) The heavy pollution industry governance policy implemented in 2017 can effectively reduce CO2 emissions in the cities of the treated group, and the effect is more significant in the year of policy implementation; (2) Green utility patents and energy-use efficiency are the effective mediating mechanisms to reduce CO2 emissions; (3) Over time, the effect of heavy pollution industry governance policy on CO2 emissions gradually decreases; (4) The reliability of the baseline regression results of this paper is proved by the use of parallel trend tests, placebo tests, and tests excluding the influence factors such as relevant policies in the same period. Therefore, the key polluting industries treatment policy launched by China's Ministry of Environmental Protection in 2017 under the recent dual-carbon policy development goals formulated by China, can effectively reduce carbon emissions; however, in the future economic development process, the government should give more consideration to the continuity of the policy impact and its coherence on economic development when implementing the policy. Green innovation (GI) has the dual attributes of green development and being innovation driven, and it has become an inevitable choice for solving the prisoner's dilemma of environmental protection and economic development under the action of the concept of sustainable development in the new era. This paper aims to clarify how environmental regulation (ER) can achieve a win‒win situation of GI and environmental protection by using data from prefecture-level cities in China and creating a dynamic panel model, quantile model, spatial econometric model, and panel threshold model to empirically analyze the dynamic effect and spatial effect of ER on GI as well as the nonlinear characteristics of the relationship between them and to examine the moderating effect of foreign direct investment (FDI). The results show that ER significantly promotes the development of the GI level and that FDI can play a positive moderating role. The impact has regional heterogeneity, time period heterogeneity, and resource endowment heterogeneity. After several robustness tests, the empirical conclusions are still credible. This paper is an overview of comparison of bioeconomy indicators, in Romania and European Union, related to Green Deal Pact of the EU. The so called European Green Deal, is a set of proposals adopted by European Commission in order to reduce the climate change by 2050.Official statistical data related to green transition were retrieved from Eurostat database. Specific indicators taken into consideration were circular material use rate, raw material consumption, valued added at factor cost and environmental protection expenditure. Comparison of the dynamics of these indicators for Romania vs other European Union member states, for latest available data, was plotted. When analyzing the data it can be observed that steps are being taken in each state towards fulfilling the objectives of green transition. However, Romania's bioeconomy is still underdeveloped as compared to most of the EU's member states. "green" + "innovation" has become a new concept of development. The integration of the two can bring win-win for the environment and economy. This paper selects the annual data of 14309 A-share companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2020 as the research sample. And it uses the two-way fixed effect model to empirically test the impact of green finance on enterprise innovation performance. The study found that the development of green finance can promote the improvement of enterprise innovation performance. The analysis of influence mechanism shows that the development of green finance can reduce the financing constraints of enterprises, and then improve the innovation performance of enterprises; the development of green finance can increase the R&D investment of enterprises, and then improve the innovation performance of enterprises; green finance development can increase corporate investment in environmental protection, which in turn can improve corporate innovation performance. The results of heterogeneity test analysis show that compared with the western region, private enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and high energy consumption and high pollution enterprises, the development of green finance in the central and eastern regions, state-owned enterprises, large enterprises, and non double high enterprises has more obvious role in promoting enterprise innovation performance. The introduction of an environmental protection tax enables a smooth shift from the sewerage charge system to the environmental protection tax scheme. This, in turn, promotes a more sustainable development of enterprise growth, emphasizing eco-friendliness. This is of immense importance in advancing environmentally aware practices and sustainability. Based on data collected from A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2014 to 2021, this paper investigates the influence of environmental protection taxes on the advancement of green technology and the underlying mechanisms. Taking the execution of the Environmental Protection Tax Law in 2018 as a quasi-natural experiment, a double-difference model is employed to examine the causal relationship between environmental protection taxes and the adoption of green technology by companies. The findings indicate that the introduction of an environmental tax could markedly enhance the extent of green technological innovation within corporations. The evidence arising from the testing mechanism implies that such a tax can encourage firms to boost their investments in research and development, upgrade their innovative human capital, and mitigate financing limitations. The study found that there is heterogeneity in the promotion effect of the environmental protection tax on the green technological innovation of businesses in different regions and provinces with varying tax burdens and types of equity capital. Further research shows that the environmental protection tax has a greater impact on the promotion of utility model patent applications for green technology innovation. This paper presents empirical evidence to support further enhancement of the environmental protection tax system. It recommends designing the environmental protection tax policy with consideration for enterprises and local conditions and bolstering the system's capacity for guiding and stimulating enterprises' green development. The construction of a green financial system can promote economic transformation and development, scientifically and effectively evaluate the green environmental protection level of finance in different cities, and provide a strong impetus for its future promotion. This paper introduces a BP neural network into the evaluation system of urban green finance progress and optimizes the model through GA. According to the constructed evaluation index system, this paper makes empirical analysis of the experimental city. The optimization results show that GA can improve the training error range of the BP neural network and increase the stability of evaluation model performance and the accuracy of evaluation results. Through empirical analysis, it is concluded that the development status of the urban economy, the mode and efficiency of capital distribution, and the degree of support for the environmental protection industry in terms of policy and capital will have a great impact on the development of its environmental protection finance. The support attitude of the local government and society in energy conservation, environmental protection, and green city construction provides a broad development space for green finance to a great extent. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the sustainable development strategy of green finance under the background of big data. Design/methodology/approach: From the perspective of big data, this paper uses quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to judge the correlation among green finance, environmental supervision and financial supervision. Green finance gives the entropy method to calculate the score of green finance and environmental regulation, and establishes the spatial lag model under the double fixed effects of time and space. Findings: Spatial autocorrelation test shows that economic spatial weight matrix has obvious spatial effect on green innovation. Through the model selection test, the space lag model with fixed time and space is selected. The regression coefficients of green finance, environmental regulation and their interaction are 0.1598, 0.0541 and 0.1763, respectively, which significantly promote green innovation. The regression coefficients of openness, higher education level and per capita GDP are 0.0361, 0.0819 and 0.0686, respectively, which can significantly promote green innovation. Originality/value: In view of the current situation of large-scale application of big data technology in green innovation of domestic energy-saving and environmental protection enterprises, this paper establishes a fixed time lag evaluation model of green innovation. Balancing economic growth with resources and the environment to achieve sustainable development is a key issue in the development of all countries, and researchers are trying to find feasible development paths. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of human capital levels on green economic efficiency (GEE) and the underlying mechanisms in 280 prefecture-level cities in China and covering the 2003–2019 period. In addition, we calculate GEE including undesired outputs based on a super-efficiency slack-based measure (SBM) model, and we construct panel regression and moderating effect models for empirical studies. The results of the baseline regression study show that the improvement in the human capital level contributes to the GEE of prefecture-level cities. Among the control variables, the economic development level, foreign direct investment (FDI), city size, and the science and technology innovation (STI) level positively affect GEE, while industrialization and environmental regulation negatively affect GEE. The study results concerning the mechanism of action indicate that industrial structure upgrading plays a positive moderating role. That is, industrial structure upgrading can strengthen the effect of human capital on GEE, which is further clarified. This study suggests that government policies must favor the cultivation of high-level human capital, especially in the environmental protection industry, and that talent support strategies should be differentiated between regions to promote industrial structure upgrading and human capital matching through green technology development. Modern human capital theory reveals the important role of human capital in improving economic efficiency and provides new ideas for achieving sustainable development. Enhancing the low-carbon effect of green finance development (GFD) is an effective way for China to accelerate the comprehensive deepening of supply side structural reform, better realise the high-quality development of green economy and better protect the environment. Therefore, based on the green technology innovation theory and endogenous growth theory, from the four dimensions of green innovation (GI) in the GLOBIO model, the unbalanced panel data of 8976 manufacturing listed companies from 2009 to 2021 were used. This paper deeply explores the low-carbon effect of GI on the development of green finance (GF) in China's manufacturing industry. The results show that: on the whole, GI based on environmental protection has a significant incentive effect on the low-carbon effect of GFD. Compared with green material innovation and green process innovation, green product design innovation and green equipment innovation have more incentive effect. Further analysis shows that green product design innovation and green equipment innovation can produce incremental effect on the low-carbon effect of green financial development through green material innovation. The conclusion not only provides empirical support for green technology innovation theory and endogenous growth theory, but also provides effective evidence for the path of GF to achieve low-carbon development. The paper analyses the environmental impact of three forms of waste PET bottle management, i.e. through recycling, energy recovery and as a result of its disposal. The analysis was carried out using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) technique enabling comprehensive assessment covering both direct and indirect environmental impacts. The research carried out included changes resulting from technological progress and the development of environmental protection technologies, which may have a significant impact on the obtained results. An attempt has been made to take into account these changes and assess the environmental benefits of various forms of PET bottle management. The study confirmed the results of research carried out by Chinese and British scientists indicating that the most environmentally friendly form of waste PET bottle management is recycling (1.38 mPt). Energy recovery (2.73 mPt) shows a higher environmental burden, while disposal is the most unfavourable form of waste PET bottles management (7.31 mPt). As a result, despite differences in environmental technologies used a decade ago and today, as well as legal differences in force in the compared regions of the world, the main conclusions of the study remain valid. For this reason, it is important adopt environmentally friendly waste PET bottles management and to include them in the global material balance for the implementation of circular economy solutions that correspond directly with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development. Green innovation possesses dual externalities of "innovation" and "environmental protection", and enhancing energy efficiency serves as a crucial means to promote high-quality economic development. Building upon the energy rebound effect, we use the balanced panel data of cities at prefecture level and above in China from 2008 to 2018 to explore the impact of urban green innovation on total factor energy efficiency (TFEE). The findings of this study indicate that, firstly, the impact of green innovation on TFEE exhibits a positive U-shaped pattern, characterized by initial suppression followed by subsequent promotion. This conclusion remains robust after undergoing a series of rigorous robustness tests. Second, high-quality green innovation is found to reach the turning point more quickly, implying that substantial green innovation can cross the turning point in smaller quantities. Thirdly, on the whole, in comparison to non-resource-based cities, resource-based cities are capable of reaching the turning point at an earlier stage. Finally, the new energy demonstration cities have not yet reached the turning point, while the non-new energy demonstration cities have crossed the turning point. This study contributes novel insights into the relationship between green innovation and TFEE, which holds significant implications for the formulation and implementation of sustainable development policies. This paper analyzed the current situation and development trends of energy consumption and carbon emissions, and the current situation and development trend of coal consumption in China. In the context of recently established carbon peak and carbon neutralization targets, this paper put forward the main problems associated with the green and low-carbon development and utilization of coal. Five key technological innovation directions in mining were proposed, including green coal development, intelligent and efficient mining, low-carbon utilization and conversion of coal, energy conservation and emission reduction, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). Focusing on the above technological innovation directions, it is suggested to carry out three basic theories, including the theory of green efficient intelligent mining, clean and low-carbon utilization and transformation of coal, and CCUS. Meanwhile, it is proposed to develop 12 key technologies, including green coal mining and ecological environment protection, efficient coal mining and intelligent mine construction, key technologies and equipment for efficient coal processing, underground coal gasification and mining, ultra-high parameter and ultra-supercritical power generation technology, intelligent and flexible coal-fired power generation technology, new power cycle coal-fired power generation technology, the development of coal-based special fuels, coal-based bulk and specialty chemicals, energy conservation and consumption reduction, large-scale and low-cost carbon capture, CO2 utilization and storage. To achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", it is crucial for China to effectively control environmental pollution in low-carbon action (LCA). Based on the evidence from 283 cities in China from 2007 to 2019, the difference-in-differences (DID) method is applied to explore the impact of LCA on pollutant emissions represented by the pilot of low-carbon city construction (LCCC) in China. The main findings are as follows. First of all, the LCCC suppresses pollution emissions, and the basic conclusions are still stable after endogenous treatment and robustness testing. Secondly, the mechanism analysis reveals that the main path of LCCC affecting pollution reduction comes from the progress of green technology and the upgrading of industrial structure. Finally, the heterogeneity analysis shows that the pollution reduction effect of the LCCC is better in the eastern region and cities with higher level of green economy development. Based on the policy standpoint of environmental protection, the LCCC has opened up a reasonable exploration path for China and other countries in the world to carry out effective pollution reduction. To achieve high-quality economic development in the process of promoting the development of China's environment quality, and green economy, green total factor productivity is an important indicator to measure high-quality economic development. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the impact of changes in energy and industrial structure on green total factors. Each specific province in China is taken as the research object, and the green total factor productivity index into green technology efficiency and green technology progress are decomposed in this paper. On the basis of constructing the industrial structure upgrading index and energy structure upgrading index, a fixed-effect model and threshold regression model are used to analyze the influence of industrial structure and energy structure on green total factor productivity and its internal mechanism. Results shows that green total factor productivity, industrial structure and energy structure all show a trend of "continuous rise in small fluctuations," but there is a spatial disequilibrium; the upgrading and optimization of industrial structure and energy structure can effectively promote the improvement of green total factor productivity, and the growth mainly comes from the improvement of green technology progress, not the improvement of green technology efficiency; the impact of the improvement of industrial structure and energy structure on green technology efficiency has a significant nonlinear trend of increasing marginal effect; the upgrading of the industrial structure has a stronger role in promoting green total factor productivity in the central and western regions than in the eastern region; while the optimization of the energy structure has a significant promoting effect on green total factor productivity in the eastern region, but has a certain inhibitory effect on the central and western regions. The ecological pressure of humanity on the planet measured by ecological footprint has been enlarging, which upsurges environmental threats. At this point, green innovation emerges as an optimal solution to sustainable development which brings together economic growth and environmental protection. This paper explores the nexus between green innovation and ecological footprint for the case of the top 20 green innovator countries. As a comprehensive environmental sustainability indicator, the ecological footprint is employed to observe the environmental impacts of green innovation. We apply cross-sectional dependence tests, panel unit root tests and panel cointegration tests covering the period of 1993-2016. The results show that economic growth is the primary reason for environmental degradation while urbanization does not have a statistically significant effect. Renewable energy consumption has a moderating influence on ecological footprint. More importantly, environment-related technologies have a statistically significant effect on ecological footprint. Specifically, a 1% increase in environment-related technologies leads to a 0.129% decrease in ecological footprint. The findings of the study clearly demonstrate that it is possible to achieve economic growth while protecting the environment. The results of the study are expected to be motivating for countries' transition toward green innovation in that sustainable development can be achieved if countries invest in green innovation. Enhancing green total factor productivity (GTFP) is essential for achieving the objective of green development, and the effect of environmental protection tax (EPT), a crucial instrument for addressing environmental challenges, on green TFP is crucial. Based on provincial panel data from 2004 to 2020 in China, this study uses inter-provincial differences in environmental protection tax rates as a quasi-natural experiment and utilizes a synthetic control method to assess the impact of the "changing sewage charge to tax" on regional GTFP. The empirical results suggest that EPT can help enhance GTFP, a finding that still holds after regional placebo tests, time placebo tests, and difference-in-differences robustness tests. The mechanism test demonstrates that EPT influences GTFP via the industrial structure impact and the green technological innovation effect. According to heterogeneity research, regions with a high level of marketization and financial growth are more significantly affected by environmental protection tax policy. The need to protect the environment protection, the climate change and the increasingly dynamic global context have made the green transition a topical issue. At European and Member States level, action has been taken and funding will be provided in various sectors such as green technologies, biodiversity, energy efficiency, building renovation and the circular economy. It is necessary to promote sustainable growth, to decouple economic growth from resource use and focus on the circular economy. The paper presents the financial instrument and the plan of measures addressed to investments in the field of green economy, investments that private companies can implement. There are real opportunities for the businesses to attract funds. Companies need to take environmental issues into account in their actions, prioritizing resource efficiency and competitiveness. In recent years, human activities especially in construction industry are causing negative impacts towards the environment. Construction industry currently faces challenges towards the implementation of sustainable development worldwide where we need to enhance and protect our natural environment without damage and destruction. Hence, the responsibilities of construction industry towards sustainable development are vital to be taken by implementing green technology into their project. Applications of green technology have been implemented internationally in order to reduce negative impacts to the environment. However, the use of green technology in Malaysian construction industry especially in Sarawak is one of the crucial issues since it is still at the low level of application. Hence, the aim of this research paper is to identify the adoption of green technology among the contractor in Central Region of Sarawak, Malaysia. This paper presents the result by using distribution of questionnaire as a main research method. About 200 respondents of construction player in Sarawak has been participated with have a strong experienced in the said issues highlighted. The survey however, has identified that most of construction player in Sarawak were refuse to use the existing green technology and choose to stick with the conventional types of projects due to their limited knowledge and expertise. It is of theoretical and practical significance to study the impact of mixed-ownership reform, the core measure of stateowned enterprise (SOE) reform, on the green innovation of SOEs. Using the data of SOEs listed in the China A-share stock market from 2010 to 2019, this study empirically tested the impact, mechanisms, and heterogeneous impact of mixed-ownership reform on the green innovation of SOEs through a Propensity Score Matching+Difference-in-Differences (PSM-DID) model based on the shareholding ratio of non-state-owned shareholders among the top ten shareholders of state-owned enterprises. On this basis, this paper further explored the spillover effect of mixed-ownership reform on the green innovation of SOEs. The results showed that: ① Mixed-ownership reform could effectively promote the green innovation of SOEs. After using the placebo test and instrumental variable method to alleviate the endogenous problem and replacing the matching basis for the robustness test, the conclusion was still valid. ② The mechanism test showed that the improvement of corporate governance level and the knowledge spillover effect were important channels for mixed ownership reform to promote the green innovation of SOEs. The profit-seeking nature of non-state-owned shareholders might have a dampening effect on the green innovation of SOEs in mixed-ownership reform. ③ The heterogeneity analysis of industry characteristics showed that in competitive industries and environmental protection industries, mixed-ownership reform had a more obvious impact on promoting the green innovation of SOEs. ④ Although the mixed-ownership reform promoted the green innovation of SOEs, it was not the higher the better in terms of the proportion of non-state-owned shareholders. When non-state-owned shareholders accounted for 15% to 30%, the promotion effect on the green innovation of SOEs was most obvious. ⑤ The mixed-ownership reform had a spillover effect on the green innovation of unreformed SOEs, effectively promoting the substantive green innovation of these SOEs in the same industry. Therefore, the study proposes that the important role of mixed-ownership reform in green development should be fully recognized and the mixed-ownership reform of SOEs should be further promoted. We should promote the formation of a mutually balanced equity structure and rationally allocate the proportion of non-state-owned capital. Buildings account for nearly 2/5ths of global energy expenditure. Due to this figure, the 90s witnessed the rise of green buildings (GBs) that were designed with the purpose of lowering the demand for energy, water, and materials resources while enhancing environmental protection efforts and human well-being over time. This paper examines recent studies and technologies related to the design, construction, and overall operation of GBs and determines potential future research directions in this area of study. This global review of green building development in the last two decades is conducted through bibliometric analysis on the Web of Science, via the Science Citation Index and Social Sciences Citation Index databases. Publication performance, countries' characteristics, and identification of key areas of green building development and popular technologies were conducted via social network analysis, big data method, and S-curve predictions. A total of 5246 articles were evaluated on the basis of subject categories, journals' performance, general publication outputs, and other publication characteristics. Further analysis was made on dominant issues through keyword co-occurrence, green building technologies by patent analysis, and S-curve predictions. The USA, China, and the UK are ranked the top three countries where the majority of publications come from. Australia and China had the closest relationship in the global network cooperation. Global trends of the top 5 countries showed different country characteristics. China had a steady and consistent growth in green building publications each year. The total publications on different cities had a high correlation with cities' GDP by Baidu Search Index. Also, barriers and contradictions such as cost, occupant comfort, and energy consumption were discussed in developed and developing countries. Green buildings, sustainability, and energy efficiency were the top three hotspots identified through the whole research period by the cluster analysis. Additionally, green building energy technologies, including building structures, materials, and energy systems, were the most prevalent technologies of interest determined by the Derwent Innovations Index prediction analysis. This review reveals hotspots and emerging trends in green building research and development and suggests routes for future research. Bibliometric analysis, combined with other useful tools, can quantitatively measure research activities from the past and present, thus bridging the historical gap and predicting the future of green building development. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between green initiatives, green performance, and a firm’s financial performance in the world. The existing literature on environmental initiatives and their impacts is limited to the context of a particular country. This gap points to a lack of clarification of variations in environmental regulation and in economic disparity which may affect the impact of green initiatives on green performance and on financial performance.Design/methodology/approach Data on the world top 500 publicly traded companies are collected from Compustat, a database of financial, statistical and market information on global companies, and from Newsweek, an information gatekeeper that enables consumers to access a list of environmentally friendly companies. The paper adopts linear regression to test the relationships between variables.Findings The results show that green initiatives have a positive impact on green performance, which in turn has a positive impact on financial performance. However, the impact of green initiatives varies by country. The study revealed that companies in European countries and Canada lead in the green initiatives and green performance, followed by the USA and Japan. China and Hong Kong lag behind compared to other countries.Research limitations/implications The small sample size in some of the countries used in this study may impact the validity of the results.Practical implications This study suggests that companies that seek financial benefits of pursuing green initiatives should have a long-term orientation when implementing these initiatives and should consider the country where they operate.Originality/value The current study provides a global understanding of the relationship between green initiatives, green performance, and financial performance, and contributes to the literature by highlighting variation among countries and by year. Environmental protection and sustainable development are now profoundly ingrained in the public consciousness in the modern era of the global green revolution. First, this paper uses an evolutionary game model to theoretically analyse the impact of environmental regulation and green finance on enterprises by dissecting the game behaviour between local governments, banks and enterprises. Then, we incorporate entrepreneurial spirit into the model to determine whether entrepreneurial spirit accelerates the achievement of green sustainability objectives. Environmental regulation and green finance are found to contribute substantially to the innovation of green technologies by local enterprises, while entrepreneurial spirit accelerates this process. Finally, we empirically test the findings based on a prefecture-level panel dataset from 2007 to 2020. We find that green finance has a positive impact in Central and Western cities of China, while Eastern cities are in greater need for government environmental regulation controls. For entrepreneurial spirit, the incentive effect of entrepreneurial spirit on the level of green technology innovation is more significant in Central and Western regions of China. "Carbon peaking and carbon neutralization" is an important measure to promote China's ecological and environmental protection and high-quality economic development, and the innovation and application of green technology are critical factors in achieving the "double carbon" goal. Based on the number of citations of green patents of listed enterprises in 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020, this paper uses GGDP to replace traditional GDP and calculate carbon emission intensity. Based on the relevant panel data at the provincial level, this paper constructs a spatial Durbin model to analyze the impact mechanism of whether the promotion and application of green technologies promote regional carbon emission reduction. The specific research results are as follows: (1) Through regression of the core explanatory variables with a one-stage lag, it is verified that the promotion and application of green technology has a significant positive promoting effect on regional carbon emission reduction, and there are significant spatial spillover effects and "learning by doing" effects. (2) In the part of heterogeneity test, the impact of green technology promotion and application on carbon emission reduction presents apparent regional heterogeneity and factor endowment heterogeneity. (3) The mediating effect test verifies the mediating effect of energy structure and industrial structure on the influence of green technology promotion and application on regional carbon emission reduction. (4) In the part moderating effect test, it is verified that marketization level and new infrastructure construction have a positive moderating effect in their influencing process, financial development, and government support will weaken the influence of green technology promotion and application on carbon emission reduction effect, and human capital level has a nonlinear regulating effect. In the context of China' s active construction of a multi-party environmental governance system, it is worth discussing how environmental regulation policies affect the market contractual relationship. In fact, government environmental regulation can trigger interactions between enterprises. When an enterprise gets environmental penalties such as fines and halts production, this enterprise will affect the customers, and the customers may adjust their buying strategies or replace this supplier in order to avoid risks. Given that environmental regulation will increase the risk of polluting enterprises and further affect the operation of downstream customers, this paper empirically tested the impact of environmental regulation on market contractual relationship based on the data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2019. We found that: ① The strengthening of environmental regulation on suppliers would cause the customers to reduce the purchase quantity; thus, environmental regulation could trigger a negative market response. ② Between 2015 and 2019, with the overall and long-term tightening of environmental regulation, enterprises usually increased investment and innovation in environmental protection, resulting in a weakening of the negative market response. ③ When customers had a green reputation or the suppliers belonged to a polluting industry, the customers' negative response was significantly stronger, but when the suppliers were state-owned enterprises, customers were no longer sensitive to their environmental risks. ④ Further analysis showed that environmental regulation affected customers' adjustment of purchase share through 'risk' mechanism and 'environmental governance' mechanism. This article reveals that the government environmental regulation will impact the market contractual relationship, which complements and enriches the relevant literature on environmental governance from the micro perspective, and makes a solid attempt to promote corporate environmental governance from the perspective of the supply chain. The policy implication of this article is that we should strengthen the fairness of the implementation of environmental regulation policies and encourage the development of green supply chains. The system as a whole is composed of various interrelated sub-systems. The effect of a system will be affected by the coordination of other systems associated with it. Only when the complementarity and coordination between systems increase can the implementation effect of the system be fully brought into play. As an informal system, social trust can affect the implementation effect of formal environmental regulations, but there are few studies on the moderating effect of social trust on the impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions. Based on this, the panel data of 281 prefecture-level cities in China from 2010 to 2019 were selected as research samples. The moderating effect model and mediated moderating effect model were used to study the moderating effect and mechanism of social trust on the impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions. In addition, the heterogeneity of this moderating effect was tested by region. The results showed that: ① The impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions showed an inverted Ushaped nonlinear relationship, and the promotion effect of environmental regulations on carbon emissions was dominant in the present stage. FDI, the upgrading of industrial structures, and R&D innovation were important mediating channels for environmental regulations to affect carbon emissions. ② As a moderating variable, social trust positively moderated the impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions and accelerated the arrival of the inflection point of the inverted U-shaped curve. ③ In terms of the mediating effect, the moderating effect of social trust on the impact of environmental regulations on carbon emissions was realized through the mediating effect of FDI, the upgrading of industrial structures, and R&D innovation, and the impact of social trust on the inflection points of the three intermediary channels was heterogeneous. ④ The moderating effect of social trust had regional heterogeneity. In small cities, the impact of social trust on environmental regulations on carbon emissions was greater than that in large and medium-sized cities. The moderating effect of social trust was greater in the cities without environmental protection than in the cities with environmental protection. The above conclusions were still valid after a series of robustness tests. It is hoped that this paper can enrich the relevant research on environmental regulations and social trust and be helpful for local governments to formulate relevant policies according to local conditions, improve the carbon emission reduction effect of environmental regulation, and accelerate the green development and transformation of Chinese cities. Green innovation efficiency takes environmental and energy factors into consideration. Enhancing green innovation efficiency is a fundamental requirement for China's innovation-driven development. This paper uses the data of industrial enterprises from 30 provinces (cities, districts) in China from 2007 to 2019 and the data envelopment analysis-slack-based measure (DEA-SBM) method to establish a new model for measuring the efficiency of green innovation in industrial enterprises, and compares that efficiency in three major regions of China. In short, the paper examines the relationship between environmental regulations and the green innovation efficiency of industrial enterprises. The research results show that there are significant regional differences in the efficiency of green innovation in Chinese industrial enterprises, and the relevant regions can basically take into account innovation incentives and environmental protection. Industrial enterprises in the eastern region have higher levels of green innovation efficiency, while the central and western regions have lower levels. There is a significant U-shaped relationship between environmental regulations and green innovation efficiency in the whole country and the eastern region; that is, regional green innovation efficiency decreases first and then increases. The environmental regulations in the central and western regions have no significant impact on green innovation efficiency. Relevant research conclusions have important policy implications for setting reasonable forms of environmental regulations to promote the improvement of green innovation efficiency, and then to build a green economic support belt in China. To protect environmental sustainability, organizations are moving their focus towards greening the business process. Similarly to any other business function, financial management has also turned to environmentally friendly activities. Green finance is a new financial pattern that integrates environmental protection and economic profits. This paper analyses the publications on green finance, and their intellectual structure and networking. The bibliometric data on green finance research have been extracted from the Scopus database. This study finds the most productive countries, universities, authors, journals, and most prolific publications in green finance, through examining the published works. Also, the study visualizes the intellectual network by mapping bibliographic coupling (BC) and co-citation. The study's essential contribution is the analysis of green finance developments and trajectories that can help scholars and practitioners to appreciate the trend and future studies. Is it possible for industrial development to co-exist with environmental protection? This paper empirically analyzes the impact of technological innovation and industrial development on environmental pollution in the inland river region in China from 2004 to 2016. The research results show that an inverted U-shaped of a nonlinear relationship occurs between the synergistic effect of industrial development and technological innovation and environmental pollution. Through the judgment of the development stage, the inland river region in China has now crossed the environmental mountains, and it is in the critical period of the integration of industrial development and environmental protection. In the current context of sustainable development and environmental protection, finding and applying green technologies for textile finishing of cellulosic materials is a priority, being among the main objectives of current researches. Bioscouring treatment is one of the green processes for treating cellulosic textile materials that has successfully replaced classic alkaline treatment. Waste waters resulting from bio preparation are considered biodegradable and with low toxicity unlike alkaline treatment. An analysis and characterization of residual waters from the finishing processes is necessary in order to establish optimal parameters for disposal and low environmental impact, for reducing costs of waste water treatment and for efficient recovery and re-used. The paper presents a characterization of water resulted from a new bioscouring treatment of cotton fabrics using a commercial enzymatic product in ultrasound with sodium citrate as a chelating agent in comparison with bioscouring treatment were EDTA was and alkaline classical treatment. The main quality indicators of the residual waters analyzed were: pH, turbidity, conductivity, TSD, salinity, dry residue, total oxygen dissolved and chemical oxygen demand (COD-CCOMn). After analyzing the obtained data, similar values were observed for the two enzymatic treatments except the pH value which was lower for the process were EDTA was used, requiring a slight correction. Purpose While there has been a great deal of research to distinguish the factors that promote the adoption of sustainable consumption, however there has been a very little attention given to the contribution of justice, coping appraisal, and psychological distance. The purpose of this paper is to explore the potential role of deontic justice, protection motivation, and construal level theories to elucidate the green purchase intention.Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 471 participants in a laboratory experiment. Then, structural equation modeling was carried out to analyze the data.Findings Protection motivation theory is valuable to apply specifically since it introduces the concept of coping appraisal. The findings demonstrate that deontic justice theory (DJT) is a suitable framework that can be employed to shed more light on sustainable consumption. The study shows that consumer can conceptualize a green product at different levels of concreteness or abstraction.Originality/value This study is a pioneering effort to look at sustainable consumption within the context of DJT. It departs from the more traditional research by repositioning moral obligation as the primary driver of green purchase intention and by elucidating when green purchase intention is elevated in investigating the moderating role of mindset. Since the PVSYST simulator is the most well-known software among researchers and PV experts, we chose to compare its results to those of the manual method. Thus, the objective of the article was to obtain the degree of similarity between the results of the PVSYST simulation and the manual calculation of the same parameters, based on the study of the photovoltaic systems of the University Ibn Tofail. Those installations are installed in the Faculty of Letters, Science, the Presidency and CFC. The later used in our study, have different parameters. Hence, to collect these parameters and their distinct data we used multiple sources. The datasheets of each components of the PV system contains the parameters that distinguish the devices therefore it was mandatory to look for that information, since it will facilitate our study. The meteorological database PVGIS, was our reference for the temperature and irradiation data. What's more is the PVSYST software that helps in the simulation of the PV system and thus having a detailed report with massive information. All this collection of data was aiming to help us comparing the results of yields and other parameters by manual calculation versus simulation in PVSYST. Morocco has demonstrated a strong commitment to combat climate change by embracing renewable energy, particularly photovoltaic systems. In this pursuit, universities like Ibn Tofail University (UIT) play a crucial role in addressing climate challenges and developing research solutions for mitigation. UIT actively participates in projects related to environmental protection and sustainable development, contributing to Morocco's growth and higher education advancement. As part of its efforts, UIT has been involved in implementing sustainable green projects and promoting renewable energy technologies. A specific study at UIT aimed to compare PVSYST simulation results with manual calculations for four PV systems on campus, considering parameters such as orientation, electrical installation, and panel types. The International Energy Agency (IEA) Photovoltaic Systems Program has established standards and a key concept, the yield factor, measuring the net energy production over a facility's lifetime compared to the energy used for construction, operation, and supply. By evaluating the accuracy and efficiency of PVSYST, researchers sought to advance the use of PV systems and contribute to Morocco's renewable energy goals. Green development is an important path to achieve sustainable development, which has attracted worldwide attention. However, the evaluation system of green development efficiency (GDE) and the spatial-temporal heterogeneity of factors affecting GDE are still critical gaps that need to be filled. Here, based on the panel data of 59 prefecture-level cities in Yellow River Basin from 2007 to 2019, we improve the evaluation system to measure GDE, and explore the influencing factors of GDE and their spatial-temporal heterogeneity. From our results, the GDE of Yellow River Basin has improved from 0.56 to 0.87, but it still needs further improvement. Industrial upgrading, technological innovation and transport infrastructure are main factors affecting GDE. More importantly, the influence of these factors has significant time-lag effect and spatial differences. Therefore, the green development of Yellow River Basin should not only restore the ecological environment, but also take account of key factors affecting regional GDE according to local conditions, ultimately achieving a win-win situation between ecological environmental conservation and social-economic development. BACKGROUND:Under the background of coordinated development of resources, environment and economy, the development of green mining has become a national strategic focus and has been widely recognized. Environmental investigation and evaluation is one of the main content in investigation and assessment of large lithium metallic mineral bases in Sichuan Province, which will play an important role in solving the bottleneck problems, such as prospecting deployment and environmental protection in the ecologically fragile district of the Western Sichuan Plateau. OBJECTIVES:To put forward the green investigation method and to establish an index system of environmental evaluation and demonstration of typical mining areas. METHODS:Green investigation and environmental assessment were combined, an indicator framework in four levels was constructed, and the status quo and change information of the ecological environment through 3S technology were extracted. Based on three years of surface water, soil and other multi-environmental media field survey and analysis data, a mature evaluation method has been optimized, and a large-scale lithium resource base environment evaluation model based on support vector machine was established by using a more compatible and scalable Python language programming. RESULTS:Using this model, the current status of large-scale bases was divided into four categories:environmentally poor areas, general environmental areas, better environmental areas, and good environmental areas. The overall accuracy rate was 97.77%. CONCLUSIONS:The set of a targeted evaluation index system established and reported on in this paper effectively evaluates the environmental status of large-scale lithium resource bases in Western Sichuan, and realizes the visual level of ‘pixel-level’ environmental status of large-scale lithium resource bases through technological innovation. The method objectively reflects the development and environmental impacts of the Jiajika mining area and surrounding resources, and to a certain extent, can assist in regulating the management and decision-making of the development and utilization of large-scale mineral resources. In the scientific community, various conceptual models are developed that are based on the aerospace activities of humanity for the purpose of exploration and use of the aerospace environment (Sky, Space) for survival and development. In the paper, the authors consider an important component of conceptual models of aerospace environment exploration, that is, preservation and restoration of the natural state of ambient air under intensive development of road and aerospace transport. The authors will analyze the legal acts of Ukraine and the European Union that regulate the protection of ambient air from pollutants in exhaust gases of road and aerospace transport, as well as emphasize the search for ways to improve the legislative framework in this area. In recent years, heavy pollution enterprises often adopt green merger and acquisition (GMA) strategy to obtain green technology and resources, so as to realize the transformation and upgrading of pollution industry. Can GMA increase the environmental protection investment (EPI) and promote the green development of enterprises? The important marginal contribution of this paper is to explore the impact of GMA on EPI of heavy pollution listed companies, and compare the impact of different types of GMA on EPI. In this paper, PSM-DID method and nonlinear DID method are used for empirical analysis. The results show that GMA can promote EPI, and the marginal effect of horizontal GMA on EPI is greater than that of vertical GMA and mixed GMA. From the perspective of time effect, GMA has a U-shaped effect of first decreasing and then increasing on EPI. Impact path test shows that GMA inhibits EPI by increasing merger and acquisition cost and management cost, and promotes EPI by improving corporate reputation, environmental awareness, enhancing financing ability and subsidies. Based on the heterogeneity analysis of enterprise life cycle, horizontal GMA has a great impact on EPI in the growth stage. THe central challenge facing China's sustainable development is how to strike a balance between economic growth and environmental conservation. In China's ongoing economic revolution, green finance is more important than ever. The study empirically examined how green finance and innovation affect carbon emissions using panel data from 30 Chinese provinces gathered between 2010 and 2020. The empirical analysis is undertaken to utilize a series of methods to investigate the impact of green finance on carbon emissions. The findings show that increased green finance, innovation, and industrial structure reduce carbon output. Moreover, carbon emissions increase with increasing trade openness and economic growth. In order to achieve sustainable development goals through economic and environmental sustainability, it has been discovered that green finance can foster green technology innovation and green business. China's innovation development relies heavily on government and enterprises' large investments in R&D activities, but regional sustainable innovation efficiency (RSIE) remains low in most areas of China. The economic and social development in China is facing continuously strengthened constraints of energy and environment. Sustainable innovation is an efficient way to achieve green development of economy, energy and environment. Previous studies on innovation efficiency did not pay attention to the undesirable outputs and did not study the convergence of innovation efficiency. This research empirically evaluates the sustainable innovation efficiency on regional level based on a slack-based measurement (SBM) model considering energy consumption and environmental pollutions. Furthermore, this research analyses the convergence of regional sustainable innovation efficiency. Results show that sustainable innovation efficiency in central, western regions and the entire country is slowly increasing. Provinces with high levels of technological innovation and environmental protection, pollutant emissions reduction and energy consumption have higher sustainable innovation efficiency. In addition, obvious δ and absolute β convergence trends exist in sustainable innovation efficiency, indicating that the regional differences among the three regions are shrinking. Regions with backward technological innovation are catching up with advanced regions. The heavy-polluting industry is inexorably to responsible for the deterioration of the environment. Improving environmental performance is an unavoidable decision for heavy-polluting firms to ensure sustainable development under the policy framework of the carbon peak target. This study provides theoretical and empirical evidence for the effect of environmental protection subsidies on environmental performance. This study constructs basic and mediating effect models to measure how environmental protection subsidies affect environmental performance using panel data of China's heavy-polluting listed firms from 2008 to 2019. This is an important outcome of industrial green transformation in environmental governance and provides a scientific basis for government departments to formulate environmental policies. The results of the empirical analysis show that environmental protection subsidies can improve the environmental performance of heavy-polluting listed firms. After receiving environmental protection subsidies, firms engaged in clean and green production through green technology innovation, thereby reducing external environmental pollution and improving their environmental performance. The mediating role of green technology innovation in the relationship between environmental protection subsidies and environmental performance is significant only in state-owned firms and firms in Eastern China. The research results may further guide the direction of green development of heavy-polluting industries, and thus promote harmonious development between the environment and the economy. The target responsibility system of environmental protection is one of the vital channels to achieve a win–win situation for both economic development and environmental protection. Comprehensively investigating how local environmental target constraints drive enterprises to improve their green innovation quality is of enormous theoretical and practical significance for optimizing the implementation effect of environmental target constraints policies and boosting enterprises' green and high-quality development. We empirically examine the mechanism of the impact of the intensity of different types of local environmental target constraints on the quality of corporate green innovation and the nonlinear relationship between them through innovatively constructing indicators of local environmental target constraint intensity and utilizing the knowledge width of green patents of listed companies as a proxy variable for enterprise green innovation quality. First, the strength of indirect environmental target constraints has a significant positive effect on the quality of green innovation, but further nonlinear characteristics reveal a significant inverse U-shaped relationship between them. Second, indirect environmental target constraint intensity has an inverted U-shaped trend in increasing the intensity of environmental regulation and influencing the digitalization of enterprises, which in turn forms an inverted U-shaped relationship with the quality of green innovation. The article presents the results of data analyses based on the European Values Study surveys (2017-2020) conducted in 34 European countries, in relation to attitudes towards environmental protection. It is underlined, that personal motivations influence also real possibilities of introducing environmental technologies. The article describes environmental attitudes in the perspective of almost the entire European continent, as well as the differences in these attitudes across individual countries and regions of Europe. It is noted that environmental attitudes vary significantly depending on how the problem is defined -- in a macro-social vs. micro-social perspective. Green innovation plays an important role in coordinating the relationship between ecological environment and economic development and has become a new driving force for the development of a resource-saving and environment-friendly economy. To explore the effects and logic of innovation efficiency and environmental protection, using the inter-provincial (city) panel data of the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2007 to 2017 in China, the green innovation efficiency and environmental protection level of the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt were analyzed. Results show that the overall environmental protection level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is on the rise. From a regional perspective, the environmental protection level in the upper reaches is the highest, which is greater than the overall level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, followed by the lower and middle reaches, which are less than the overall level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The efficiency of green innovation has promoted the overall environmental protection level of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, inhibited the environmental protection level in the downstream areas, promoted the environmental protection level in the upstream areas, and has no obvious impact on the environmental protection level in the middle reaches. Further mechanism analysis shows that the possible transmission path of green innovation efficiency to environmental protection is as follows: green innovation efficiency promotes the environmental protection level by improving the ecological environmental efficiency. The robustness of the above conclusion is tested, and it has good robustness. The research conclusions of this study provide reliable empirical evidence and policy enlightenment for the development and optimization of green innovation efficiency and the realization of green innovation efficiency driving environmental protection. Innovation has been valued as a main driving force of social development, and the need for environmental protection has further raised green innovation development. Previous studies have confirmed that industrial agglomeration has an innovation spillover effect, and furthermore it varies with different agglomeration modes. However, the addition of environmental regulation could exert effects on the innovation spillover of industrial agglomeration. Based on Chinese provincial panel data from 2003 to 2017, this paper tested the effect of different agglomeration modes on green technology innovation (green process innovation and green product innovation) under environmental regulation. Research found that: when industrial agglomeration promotes green technology innovation, environmental regulation will inhibit agglomeration innovation; when industrial agglomeration hinders green technology innovation, environmental planning will promote agglomeration innovation. The regional difference of cluster development are obvious in China, and the effect of agglomeration innovation in different regions is also different. In the implementation of environmental regulation for each region, it is necessary to combine the current situation of cluster development to effectively promote green technology innovation.
