Medically refractory cases of trigeminal neuralgia often require treatment escalation. Surgical options include microvascular decompression and percutaneous ablation. This paper provides a bibliometric analysis of the most influential articles on the surgical management of trigeminal neuralgia. The Web of Science database was queried to identify the top 100 cited articles concerning surgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. The search terms used included ALL=(("trigeminal neuralgia" OR "tic douloureux" OR "Fothergill's disease" OR "Trifacial neuralgia") AND ("surgical treatment" OR "surgical management" OR "surgery" OR "neurosurgery") NOT ("radiosurgery" OR "gamma knife")). The extracted variables included the first and senior author names, journal, publication year, institution, and surgical modality. Our bibliometric search yielded 2104 studies, with 41,502 citations overall. Within the top 100 articles, Zakrzewska had the most first author papers (n = 5), and Burchiel had the most senior author papers (n = 6). The Massachusetts General Hospital was the most represented institution (n = 5). The United States was the most represented country (51%). Microvascular decompression was the most studied surgical strategy (51%), followed by percutaneous radiofrequency coagulation (9%), balloon/nerve compression (7%), and glycerol rhizolysis (7%). Some studies assessed multiple treatment modalities (22%). The types of studies included retrospective articles (58%), prospective articles (26%), reviews (10%), anatomic studies (2%), and basic science (1%). Neurosurgery (35%) and the Journal of Neurosurgery (33%) were the most represented journals. The current literature consists of retrospective reviews and mostly describes microvascular decompression for trigeminal neuralgia. Future studies should include further characterization of other surgical modalities such as percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation, glycerol injection, and balloon compression. Different disciplines continue to place more and more importance on design. This growth results in a variety of terminology relating to design being used in different studies. This study aims to reveal the current state of design education in two phases: (1) a bibliometric analysis to show the patterns in design education studies published in the Web of Science database, (2) a content analysis to examine how the design education studies use design related terminology. In the bibliometric analysis five themes emerged: science, engineering, technology, literacy and design-based research. The largest theme in our analysis is engineering. Science and technology also became prominent themes in addition to engineering's predominance. Technology and engineering journals served as the main publishing platform for design research, with the qualitative approach and theoretical studies in design education coming in second and third, respectively, in terms of frequency of use. 192 design-related keywords were found in the content analysis of 2062 abstracts, and they were divided into four groups in the design glossary: 8 keywords for design framework, 47 keywords for design types, 29 keywords for teaching design, and 108 keywords for design concepts. This study employs bibliometric analysis through CiteSpace to comprehensively evaluate the status and trends of MANF (mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor) research spanning 25 years (1997–2022). It aims to fill the gap in objective and comprehensive reviews of MANF research. MANF-related studies were extracted from the Web of Science database. MANF publications were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed for various factors by CiteSpace, including publication volume, journals, countries/regions, institutions, and authors. Keywords and references were visually analyzed to unveil research evolution and hotspot. Analysis of 353 MANF-related articles revealed escalating annual publications, indicating growing recognition of MANF's importance. High-impact journals such as the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and Journal of Biological Chemistry underscored MANF's interdisciplinary significance. Collaborative networks highlighted China and the USA's pivotal roles, while influential figures and partnerships drove understanding of MANF's mechanisms. Co-word analysis of MANF-related keywords exposed key evolutionary hotspots, encompassing neurotrophic effects, cytoprotective roles, MANF-related diseases, and the CDNF/MANF family. This progression from basic understanding to clinical potential showcased MANF's versatility from cellular protection to therapy. Bee pollen is recognized for its nutritional and health benefits, drawing attention from both the scientific community and consumers as a natural functional food. This study employed bibliometric analysis, using the R program bibliometrix package and VOS viewer, to examine scientific research on bee pollen. We were evaluated 921 articles in the Web of Science databases using the keyword 'bee pollen' published between 2011-2022. Among these, 90.45% were research articles, 6.73% were reviews, 2.06% were meeting abstracts, and 0.76% were book chapters. China led with 562 articles, followed by Brazil (330), Turkey (295), Italy (190), Portugal (189), the USA (175), and Spain (158). Bee pollen was the most used keyword, followed by pollen, propolis, and honey. This is the first bibliometric study to evaluate the researchs on bee pollen, and it is considered important in terms of organizing the scientific studies to be conducted on this subject. Background: Paragonimus is a genus of parasitic flatworms known as lung flukes that cause the parasitic disease paragonimiasis in humans and other mammals. We aimed to use bibliometric analysis to identify the global characteristics and temporal trends of published literature about paragonimiasis. Methods: Using the Web of Science database, we identified all original articles on paragonimiasis 1997 to 2022. After collecting the bibliographic and citation data, keywords, citation networks, and co-citations pertaining to paragonimiasis was carried out using the VOSviewer program. Results: The study identified 563 paragonimiasis articles published in 250 journals. Publications in paragonimiasis research have been cited 6190 times and 2803 times without self-citations. The years with the most publications were 2013, 2016, and 2021. The minimal threshold for analysis was met by 19 of the 52 countries investigated. The study included 19 items, yielding 170 links between countries. The total strength of these links was discovered to be 104772. The journal with the most publications in this category was Parasitology Research (n=31). The most frequently used terms in paragonimiasis study were "paragonimiasis", "Paragonimus westermanii", and "lung-fluke." Conclusion: The study concluded by providing an overview of the paragonimiasis research field, including current trends, development, and researcher collaboration. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) have changed how people access academic information. Over the last few years MOOCs have become one of the leading modes of imparting education to people sitting throughout the world in their comfort zones. The pandemic has given more credence to it, and the platform has reached the student community and helped them ubiquitously. The popularity of MOOCs has resulted in a significant increase in research across many disciplines, especially during pandemic. The study discussed in this article explores the bibliometric analysis of scholarly literature on MOOCs, covering all the countries' publications indexed on the Web of Science. The study aimed to analyze the research trends on MOOCs worldwide. The data was collected from the Web of Science database in July 2021, using the bibliometric approach to identify prolific journals, productive authors, top countries, collaborations, co-occurrences of keywords, etc. The results reveal that a significant increase has occurred in MOOCs' research apart from a remarkable increase in publications. Scientific development can be extracted from published literature through its footprints. The information visualisation software, CiteSpace, was used to study relevant data in the field of port logistics from 2000 to 2020 in the Web of Science database, including literature, keywords, co-cited literature, etc., to generate visual knowledge mapping. The number of publications has increased annually, and the growth rate has accelerated since 2015. The country with the largest number of papers is China, followed by the United States and South Korea. China's Shanghai Maritime University has the most published literature. The productive author (with the most published papers so far) is Jasmine Siu Lee Lam. Keywords, such as modelg, management, systems, performance, transport, supply chain, and optimization are the most frequently used. Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) has attracted increasing research interest in sustainable management and decision-making in recent years. To further understand the research status and trend, the purpose of this study is to adopt bibliometric and visual methods to analyze the knowledge structure and the evolution path in the research field of ESG. Based on 1735 papers on ESG in the Web of Science Collection database from 2004 to 2021, this study uses CiteSpace and VOSviewer to present a bibliometric overview of publications, citation structure, authors, universities, countries/regions, journals, and keywords that work on this Topic. Results indicate that scholars increasingly regard ESG as an integrated sustainability analysis framework and pay more attention to the connection among its dimensions. According to the growth trend, ESG may remain a hot research topic for the next few years. The USA is the most productive country, followed by England and China. Journals on ESG research with higher effective factors have higher cocitation frequency and publications. And Sustainable development, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, ESG, and ESG ratings as the research hotspots are presented. Additionally, this study provides an overview of the ESG research trends for future researchers. Humanitarian supply chain (HSC) has attracted enormous interest from both practitioners and academics lately, mainly because of its essential role in curbing the increase in human-made and natural disasters. Knowing what has been done in the field so far as to design a robust research agenda to tackle future HSC challenges is an important research objective. In this study, a bibliometric analysis was conducted to assess the current level of research on the HSC. A search of documents dealing with HSC was realized in the Web of Science database, a world-leading publisher-independent global citation database. The search identified 1152 documents, and the data collected was analyzed by means of a bibliometric tool called Bibliometrix. Using past material and spiritual remains, cultural heritage examines communities' identity formation across time. Cultural heritage requires public and private institutions to care about its restoration, maintenance, conservation, and promotion. Through a bibliometric perspective, this study has analyzed, quantified, and mapped the scientific production of the fourth industrial revolution applied to heritage studies from 2016 to 2021 in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Biblioshiny software from RStudio was employed to categorize and evaluate the contribution of authors, countries, institutions, and journals. In addition, VOSviewer was used to visualize their collaboration networks. As a main result, we found that augmented reality and remote sensing represent the research hotspot concerning heritage studies. Those techniques have become common in archaeology, as well as museums, leading to an increase in their activity. Perhaps, more recent tools, such as machine learning and deep learning, will provide future pathways in cultural heritage from data collected in social networks. Root traits have an important impact on plant growth, which reflects the adaptation of plants to nutrients. This paper describes the focus and progress of root traits research and provides references for future research. Based on the Web of Science online database, articles related to root traits from 2000–2021 were evaluated using bibliometric methods. The results showed that the study of root traits has been growing steadily in the last two decades. Wang Yan is the author with the highest number of published papers, the most citations and the highest H-index. The top three published countries are the USA, China and India. The top three institutions are the University of Western Australia, China Agricultural University and Nanjing Agricultural University. Plant and Soil, Frontiers in Plant Science and PLoS One have the highest number of published articles. In terms of co-occurrence of keyword analysis, growth, soil and plant diversity are highly correlated with root traits. It was found that cooperation between authors, institutions and countries are not close enough and that z global network of cooperation has not yet been formed. This study presents a bibliometric analysis study presuming the concept of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) management in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. This bibliometric analysis provides information about the trend of article publication topics, the production of the most relevant authors, references cited as well as institutions and countries. It also discusses the most common themes, joint citations and bibliographic networks. The bibliographic data was collected through the web of science database between 2000 and 2021. The analysed documents were 449 documents; the analytical tools used R Programming and VOSviewer. These tools generate graphical representations of bibliographic data based on cooccurrence and their coupling. These findings suggest that the journal is increasing its publication volume and reputation in the field, with 449 Scopus indexed research articles to date. Altmetrics are new bibliometric methods with increasing popularity, meant to reveal the impact and public attention for scientific research. In addition to the traditional bibliometric scores (such as article citation counts, h-index, or journal impact factor), any research paper published online can have algorithm-generated Altmetric scores linked to a digital identifier (for example, DOI-Digital Object Identifier). In this article, we have analyzed five papers withdrawn from publication: 4 papers with the highest citation scores until December 2020 according to the Retractionwatch.com database and one COVID-19-related paper with the highest Altmetric score. By contrasting traditional bibliometrics according to the Web of Science database (like article citation counts before and after retraction) with Altmetric details (like Attention score, Mendeley mentions, Twitter mentions, News outlets) we have shown that the highest citation scores for bibliometrics were not reflected in Altmetric scores and vice-a-versa. We observed that all the cases of retracted papers with the highest citation counts came from the top 25% most appreciated scientific journals. Moreover, these articles attracted citations even long after retraction from publication, and if these articles were to be selected for the creation and application of secondary scientific literature, we fear it could lead to inaccurate results. Introduction: Massage therapy is a popular form of alternative medicine that has been used for centuries to alleviate muscle soreness and promote relaxation. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in understanding the scientific basis behind the effectiveness of massage in managing muscle soreness. This bibliometric research aims to explore relations of massage on muscle soreness trends over time. Method: This research employs descriptive bibliometrics to gather scientific production data from the Scopus and Web of Science online databases. The analysis was conducted using Scientopy and VoSviewer. A query string, specifically “massage” AND (“muscle soreness” OR “muscle pain”), was employed, resulting of 526 papers. After eliminating 159 papers, a total of 367 papers were selected for comprehensive examination in this study. Results: Over the span of 46 years, the publication output was reached in 2020 with 32 published papers. The most cited paper, published in 2003 was 888 citations. The United States emerged as the predominant contributor with 88 publications and 2,752 citations, surpassing other countries. A comprehensive examination of 1,997 keywords with a minimum co-occurrence of 20 revealed 35 keywords meeting the established threshold. Overlay visualization indicated an evolutionary pattern between 2010 and 2020, highlighting shifts in research focus. Towards the end of 2020, there was a surge in interest regarding the reliability and effectiveness of sports massage, cold-water immersion, and self-myofascial release in improving muscle soreness, motion, and flexibility. The analysis conducted indicates a consistent global increase in contributions to the understanding of the relationship between massage and muscle soreness. However, a notable decline in interest suggests a potential shift towards investigating other factors associated with massage. Conclusion: The findings underscore the need for ongoing investigation and exploration to comprehensively understand the evolving dynamics of the relationship between massage and muscle soreness. Simple Summary: Neuropterida is a relatively primitive group of Holometabola including about 6500 extant species. Many species of this group are natural enemies and can prey on a variety of agricultural pests. This research analyzed the relevant literature in the core database of Web of Science by using CiteSpace, and then summarized the beginning and development of the research in the field of Neuropterida. The results showed that the United States and China had the most publications on the Neuropterida and were the main countries for research. These two countries have had the most productive authors and institutions. Representative institutions for research on natural enemies of Neuropterida included the China Agricultural University and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Due to the late start of Neuropterida research in China, the early research focused on practical applications. In addition, there is more cross-research in the fields of agriculture and biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, etc., indicating that the research of Neuropterida can be covered from the macroscopic study to the microscopic study. In addition, it was found that the early research focused on the biological control of Neuropterida by analyzing the keyword burst, whereas the current research has focused on the phylogeny of Neuropterida more. China Agricultural University ranked the highest in the number of publications and centrality in this field. In addition, it was found that the early research focused on the biological control of Neuropterida by analyzing the keyword burst, whereas the more recent research focused on the phylogeny of Neuropterida. As the first representative chromosome-level genome of Neuropterida has been published, the future research of Neuropterida will focus on the genomic studies and molecular mechanisms of their morphological characters, behavior, historical evolution and so on. Background: The number of research articles on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) has been strikingly increasing. This study aimed to explore the general trends and hotspots of HRQoL.Methods: Based on the Web of Science database, research on HRQoL published between 2000 and 2019 were identified. A bibliometric analysis was performed based on the number of articles, citations, published journals, authors' addresses, and keywords. Descriptive analysis, visualization of geographic distribution and keyword clustering analysis were applied to the collected data.Results: The annual number of articles showed growth over the past twenty years, but the annual total citations and annual citations per article were both in decreasing trends. Articles about HRQoL were more likely to be published in journals of multi-subject categories. The HRQoL research was mainly distributed across North America and Europe throughout the twenty years and ushered in a vigorous development worldwide after 2015. Cooperation strength between domestic institutions was much greater than that of international institutions. HRQoL research had six concentrated clusters: HRQoL, Depression, Obesity, Disability, Oncology, Fatigue.Conclusion: This study provided an overall perspective of global research trends and hotspots in HRQoL, and a potential insight for future research. HRQoL research had experienced significant increasing development during 2000-2019, especially the HRQoL measurement instruments, however, there were significant regional disparities in scientific output in HRQoL. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive and endocrine disease. However, there have not been any bibliometric studies on the latest scientific results and research trends of PCOS. This study aimed to review the state of research in PCOS worldwide. Publications on PCOS from 2009 to 2019 were identified and evaluated from the database Web of Science. A total of 7814 articles were retrieved. Shanghai Jiao Tong University published the most articles, with 218 publications. Gynecol Endocrinol had the greatest number of publications (n = 541). J Clin Endocr Metab was cited the most, with a total of 32,207 times. An article written by March et al. in 2010 had the most global citations (737 times) and local citations (463 times). From 2009 to 2019, the number of PCOS global publications gradually increased. Gynecol Endocrinol and Endocr Metab were popular journals for PCOS research. Research trends gradually shifted from treatment and methodology to genetics and basic research. This article is part of an ongoing research. The research aims to analyze the national scientific production of Information Science, from 2010 to 2020, published in journals indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. In order to achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives were chosen: Analyze the scientific production of teachers\researchers from postgraduate programs in Information Science; Identify the most important themes approached in the scientific production of graduate programs in Brazil; Identify the most productive authors of each postgraduate program; Check collaboration in the area; Survey the titles of the most productive journals in the studied period; Characterize the most productive programs. It is a descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative approach will use bibliometric and scientometric techniques to assist in measuring the researcher's productivity. When the scientific production was surveyed from 2010 to 2020 in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, 3,000 articles and reviews were found. So as to identify the main themes addressed, it was chosen to identify the keywords and the relevance in the studied period. 1,093 authors were found in the Web of Science database and in the Scopus database 6,886 authors who produced 2,206 articles and reviews in the period from 2010 to 2020. When verifying the existing collaboration in the area of Information Science in the period 2010-2020, there is an expressive institutional collaboration in the total academic production. Institutional collaboration corresponds to 34% of academic production. To survey the most productive journals in the period studied, publications in 48 journals were found in both databases. To characterize the most productive programs, the following references were adopted: year of beginning of the programs, number of teachers of the programs, areas of concentration of the programs, the stricto sensu postgraduate modalities of each program, the evaluation by CAPES of the master's and doctorate and the regional location. Objective: With the population aging, there is an associated rise in the prevalence of adult degenerative scoliosis (ADS). However, limited data were found to elaborate the trend of ADS research. Our study aims to investigate the global trend of ADS research in this decade. Methods: ADS-related publications from 2010 to 2019 were extracted from the Web of Science and Medline database. Excel 2016, GraphPad Prism 6, and VOSviewer software were adopted to analyze the search results for number of publications, citation, and H-index. Results: A total of 1282 papers were included and were cited 16,770 times. The USA accounted for 40.41% of the articles, 60.35% of the citations, and the highest H-index of 51. China ranked second in total number of articles, third in citation frequency (1373), and fourth with an H-index of 18. The journal Spine (IF = 2.903, 2019) had the highest number of publications. Shaffery CI published the most articles in this field (40). Key words of ADS research were classified into three clusters: "Surgical technique," "Mechanism," and "Radiological parameter." The "Radiological parameter" cluster became the most popular, and it came with the latest hot spots of "slope," "cervical lordosis," "mismatch," and "PI-LL." Conclusion: Literature growth in ADS was rapidly expanding in this decade. The USA was the most productive country and also had a largest quantity of top authors and institutes, so that scholars can keep following and cooperated with. Introduction SYSVAC is an online bibliographic database of systematic reviews and systematic review protocols on vaccines and immunisation compiled by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) through their National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAG) resource centre ( www.nitag-resource.org ). Here the development of the database and a bibliometric review of its content is presented, describing trends in the publication of policy-relevant systematic reviews on vaccines and immunisation from 2008 to 2016. Materials and methods Searches were conducted in seven scientific databases according to a standardized search protocol, initially in 2014 with the most recent update in January 2017. Abstracts and titles were screened according to specific inclusion criteria. All included publications were coded into relevant categories based on a standardized protocol and subsequently analysed to look at trends in time, topic, area of focus, population and geographic location. Results After screening for inclusion criteria, 1285 systematic reviews were included in the database. While in 2008 there were only 34 systematic reviews on a vaccine-related topic, this increased to 322 in 2016. The most frequent pathogens/diseases studied were influenza, human papillomavirus and pneumococcus. There were several areas of duplication and overlap. Discussion As more systematic reviews are published it becomes increasingly time-consuming for decision-makers to identify relevant information among the ever-increasing volume available. The risk of duplication also increases, particularly given the current lack of coordination of systematic reviews on vaccine-related questions, both in terms of their commissioning and their execution. The SYSVAC database offers an accessible catalogue of vaccine-relevant systematic reviews with, where possible access or a link to the full-text. Conclusions SYSVAC provides a freely searchable platform to identify existing vaccine-policy-relevant systematic reviews. Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) are toxic chemicals that stay in the environment for a long time. To address the toxicity issues, global nations, including 53 African countries, ratified the Stockholm Convention to minimize or eliminate the production of 12 POPs known as the "Dirty Dozen". However, these Dirty Dozen Chemicals (DDCs) still exist in significant concentration in the African environment, prompting numerous research to investigate the level of their occurrences. Here, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to examine the publication trends in DDCs-related research in Africa using articles published between 1949 and 2021 from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. A total of 884 articles were published within the survey period, with a publication/author and author/publication ratio of 0.36 and 2.76, respectively. South Africa ranked first in terms of number of publications (n = 133, 15.05%), and total citations (n = 3115), followed by Egypt (n = 117), Nigeria (n = 77), USA (n = 40), and Ghana (n = 38). Research collaboration was relatively high (collaboration index = 2.88). The insignificant difference between the theoretical and observed Lotka's distribution indicates Lotka's law does not fit the DDC literature. Simple Summary: Reproduction in small animals is an expanding research area, with focus on breeding improvement and clinical management of domestic carnivores. The aim of the present study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature of the last decade on small animal reproduction, to point out main sources, most prolific countries, and emerging and neglected topics. Results show that research in biotechnologies for assisted reproduction has a central and increasing role in this field. Diversity in author keywords was also pointed out and a consensus to better categorize research in this field is proposed to reduce this problem in the future. Small animal reproduction (SAR) is a main research field in veterinary medicine and bibliometric analyses are useful to investigate trends in specific research areas. The objective of the present study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature of the last decade on SAR. A search equation was created, and documents were retrieved from the Web of Science database. Documents were manually revised, categorized and R software version 4.1.2 with Bibliometrix R package version 3.1 and MS Excel were used to perform the analyses. The included documents (n = 1470) were mainly research articles (78%). The top countries for the number of documents and citations were Brazil, United States, Italy, Poland, and Korea. These also account for the most prolific authors and institutions. Analyses by author keywords, categories, and recent reviews of the literature suggest that research on the canine species is more abundant than research on the feline one and that reproductive biotechnologies are a main research focus. Some clinical topics are still considered niche or neglected themes (e.g., semen collection in tomcats, neonatology). However, heterogeneity and ambiguity in keywords and categories are undeniable.
