The review article presents an analysis of the literature on environmental literacy in sustainable development. By utilizing techniques to examine multiple documents published between 2013 and 2023, including citation analysis, co-authorship analysis, subject area analysis, and keyword analysis, this study aims to provide valuable information and insights into the research landscape surrounding environmental literacy and its contribution to promoting sustainable development. A systematic search was conducted to gather several scientific articles, conference papers, and publications from the Scopus database from 2013 to 2023. The findings of this analysis shed light on authors, influential institutions, and active research groups that contributed to the study of environmental literacy and sustainable development. This comprehensive review offers an understanding of the state of research in this field while identifying areas for further exploration and research gaps. The insights gained from this study can be highly beneficial for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking to advance knowledge and take action toward promoting literacy's role in sustainable development. This analysis is a foundation for advancing our understanding of literacy's significance while emphasizing its vital role in sustainable development efforts.

Current paper reports the findings of a content analysis of Open Educational Resources. Twenty three studies were collected for the analysis. The studies were collected from different journals depending on open access policy. Every study was categorised by author, year of publication, title of the study, author characteristics and analysis. The analysis refers to the information about Open Educational Resources variables. Therefore the investigators categorize the research papers based on OER. An analysis of research papers was formed in conclusion and finalizing the common dimensions of content analysis of OER studies.

The higher education efficiency evaluation model using the data envelopment analysis method has interested many researchers. This paper uses bibliometric analysis on publications extracted from the Scopus database to provide a comprehensive overview of research publications on the measurement of higher education efficiency based on data envelopment analysis: its growth rate, major collaboration networks, the most important and popular research topic. A total of 169 related publications were collected and analyzed from 1988 to 2021. The analysis results show that: Publications published every year have increased sharply in the last six years; The quality of publications is relatively high as publications tend to be published in journals with high-ranking indexes; Countries with the most influence in studies on this topic are: Italy, China, Spain, the USA, and the United Kingdom; Authors with the most influence in this research direction are Agasisti T., Abbott M., Doucouliagos C., Avkiran N.K., and Johnes J.; The research cooperation among countries and among affiliations is not strong. Finally, the paper has provided recommendations for future studies based on the findings.

In today's society, information technology transforms the way people do business and activities. Such phenomenon eliminates the previous jobs and creates a new job title. In this regards, professional writers offer new jobs in this digital age. Books and papers are substituted with new platforms because of industrial changes. Web portals, paperless media, tablets, smartphones and other gadgets were created to spread information. However, these have become tools and media for authors in the 21st century. User generated content platform is the most promising tunnel for technopreneur writer. A lot of features can be used to write and asses the author's materials. For example, analytic dashboard or perception content analysis are powerful tools to asses the effectiveness of author's work. There are certain strategies for technopreneur authors to be considered to gain benefits from user generated content platform. Those factors are: characteristics for content, audience assessment, effectiveness of materials and profitable contents. In a nutshell, this paper exposes news tunnels; the most promising way that writers can express their talents in digital age as technopreneurs.

This research study aims to find out the research productivity of Nigerian and Indian authors to the library philosophy and practice from 2008 to 2013. The present study also finds the frequency of productivity, author collaboration, papers length, most cited papers, and most references as well as most productive authors. The present research finds the 226 research articles have been contributed by Nigerian authors and 193 papers have been contributed by Indian authors. The highest number of papers has been written by Nigerian authors was 76 in 2010 and from the Indian 60 papers were contributed in 2013. This present study identifies those 114 single authors from Nigeria and 80 from India. 116 papers from Nigerian authors those range 6-10 pages while 57 from India. The total numbers of references were used by Nigerian authors those were 4140 while Indian was used 3243 references from 2008 to 2013. The most productive authors S.Thanuskodi from India who wrote 09 papers and Dike Agah from Nigeria have contributed only 5 papers. Objectives: The main objective of this research is to identify highly cited papers in clinical pharmacology and to analyze their publication and citation data to study their citation characteristics, and understand what role contributing authors, participating research organizations as well as international collaborative countries play in Indian clinical pharmacology research. Design: The publications output of Indian clinical pharmacology papers published during 2000-14 were screened in Scopus database and highly cited papers, with at least 100 citations since publication, were identified and shortlisted for their bibliometric analysis. The statistics cover collaboration across authors, institutions, foreign participating countries in the publication of highly cited papers. To assess comparative contributions of authors/organizations, a new indicator, the Major Contributor Index (MCI), was used. Citation trends for all papers, as well as for top papers, are presented. Results: A total of 76 highly cited articles, constituting 1.45% share of world highly cited papers output and 0.75% share of India's publications output, were published by India in clinical pharmacology output during 2000-14. This study covered only those papers that received at least 100 citations since publication. In recent years, top-cited articles have reached their citation peak in the early years of their citation life cycle, but have shown a more-rapid decreasing trend compared to top-cited articles from past decades. These 76 highly articles have received 14059 citations, with an average citation per paper of 184.99. The leading Indian organizations participating in highly cited research papers were All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (7 papers), Panjab University, Chandigarh (6 papers), Jadavpur University, Kolkata (5 papers), National Institute of Mental Health & Allied Sciences, Bangalore, Aligarh Muslim University, Annamalai University, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Sathyabama University, Guru Jambeshwar University, Hisar, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar and Drug Research & Development Center, Kolkata (2 papers each). The leading authors were S.K. Bhattacharya (3 papers), J.K. Grover, S.P. Yadav, S. Garg, A.K. Singla, A.Garg, S. Ghosal, A. Bhattacharya, S. Khanna, A. Bhattacharya, S. Praveen and S.K.Sahoo (2 papers each). The leading international collaborative countries were USA (10 papers), Germany and U.K. (3 papers each), Japan, Russia Federation, Belgium and Canada (2 papers each). The MCI varied among leading organizations, as well as among individual authors. Conclusions: The output of highly cited papers by Indian authors in clinical pharmacology is still not significant given the fact that 208 authors contributed only one paper each once in 15 years, 11 contributed two papers each once in 15 years, and 1 contributed three papers once in 15 years. India still ranks 10th highest country with 1.45% share to the world output of highly cited papers compared to 61.41% share by USA. The quality of research in clinical pharmacology in India is though growing significantly over time, but there is very little evidence of corresponding growth in publication rate of highly cited papers in India. The paper brings into focus how Syed Manzoorul Islam, in his three-decade-long literary career, has mastered a narrative style that sets him apart from many of his Bengali contemporaries. It demonstrates all the traits unique to his storytelling: blurring of boundaries between dream and reality, self-reflexivity, irony, and humor. The research also encapsulates how Syed Islam is different from his contemporary short story writers in terms of constructing plot and character. It foregrounds the author's capability of developing a diction which is completely his own. The paper discusses the postmodern features prevailing in his stories. It shows us how the author invites the readers to be a part of his discourses. It summarizes the author's surrealist imagination which creates a world that is strangely familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Overall, the research analyzes how the postmodern elements relate to the major themes of Syed Manzoorul Islam's short stories.

Writing reflects some of the different characteristics of the language being used and of the people who are communicating. The present paper focusses on the internal written communication in international and inter-disciplinary research projects. Using a case study of an international public health research project, it argues that the authorship and the languages used in internal project communication are not neutral but help to generate or reinforce power hierarchies. Within research partnerships, language thus raises ethical issues that have so far been neglected. Current ethics guidelines often focus on interactions between scientists and participants of social research and clinical trials, with less attention paid to the interactions among the scientists themselves. Describing all the different project phases based on writing within a research project, the paper distinguishes different influences on the distribution of power that emerge through a focus on written communication. The focus of the present paper is to illuminate the issues of ethics, power and the dimensions of hierarchy, physical location and native versus non-native English speakers that arise from paying attention to such communications.

The aim of this study was to determine the examination of the researches about the use of technology by fine arts teachers. The study was conducted according to the content and citation analysis model. In this context, Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection indexes were included. In the document scanning in the WOS environment, the keywords 'Fine arts', 'Teachers' and 'Technology' were searched. In total, 169 documents were examined and analysed one by one. They were analysed according to year, document type, WOS content category, country, source title, organisation and citation, authors, publication language and categories. As a result of this research, the first study was conducted in 2004, while the most studies were conducted in 2016. It was concluded that the published studies had the most Proceedings papers as the document type. The area where the studies of fine arts teachers on the use of technology are mostly carried out is Education Educational Research, according to the Web of Science content category. The most researched title in the distribution according to the Source Title field is 'International Multidisciplinary Scientific Conferences on Social Sciences and Arts.' The university with the most studies is Kazan Federal University. The 19 authors who conducted the studies have a large number of studies in this field. It was concluded that other authors had only one study in the field. Again, when we look at the distribution of the countries and documents according to the language of writing, the country with the most studies is China and the language of the documents is English. The area continues to evolve.

Seamless learning has a significance that has been increasing in recent years, and an increasing number of studies on the subject in the literature draws attention. This study aimed to examine the research on seamless learning between 1996 and 2020 with the bibliometric analysis method. The Scopus database was used in the collection of the data. After various screening processes, a total of 389 publications were included in the analysis. Descriptive analysis and bibliometric analysis were used in the analysis of the data. The distribution of publications by years, types of publications, sources, and languages were analyzed in the research. Additionally, visual maps were created with analyses of co-author, cocitation, and co-word. At the end of the study, it was seen that there has been an increase in the number of publications from the past to the present, articles and papers were predominant, and that most of the studies were carried out in English. As a result of bibliometric analysis, it was concluded that the most efficient countries in seamless learning were the United Kingdom, the United States, and Singapore. Also, it has been determined that the National Institute of Education, Center for International Education and Exchange, and Kyushu University institutions are dominant. The most frequently mentioned authors cited in studies in many different fields are M. Sharples, L.-H. Wong, and H. Ogata. According to the co-word analysis, the keywords seamless learning, mobile learning, ubiquitous learning, and mobile-assisted language learning stand out in the field of seamless learning.

This review paper synthesizes peer-reviewed empirical research published between 2010 and 2021 about wildland fire communication practices. Our goal was to systematically review and provide an overview of how wildland fire communication has been empirically studied, and theoretical and methodological underpinnings and representativeness of this work. We found that researchers employ diverse theoretical and methodological approaches, yet most work originates from the western United States or Australia. Studies were published in diverse disciplinary journals, most frequently looked at residents as study subjects, and many sought to understand the effectiveness of communication. There is a need to build theoretical and methodological consistency in wildland fire communication research.

Jane Austen's "Mansfield Park," which has written based on English identity earned by slave trade and also the English people who are very much obsessed with property, money, status, elite class attitudes and heedless towards their subordinate people. On the other hands, Kazi Nazrul Islam upholds the position of anti colonial writer. He was very much against the British rule and their despotic rulers. Therefore, Kazi Nazrul Islam has established the notion of anti British ideology and activities through his writings and showed the world about his rebellious nature.

Indian women have always been viewed as the object of desire. In the advent of Technological Advancement women are still thought of as inferior to men. Though there is an increase in the literacy rate of the girl child, it does not imply the emancipation of the girl child. Women are bound by the social customs and traditions. In this sense women are not empowered. The word empowerment is misrepresented as the increase in working women. In such a scenario Indian women writers in English have portrayed the challenges women confront at home, in the workplace as well as in their social interactions. Indira Goswami in her Novel "The Moth Eaten Howdah of the Tusker" boldly describes the plight of the women especially the widows and hopes to instill change in the minds of the society. The present paper aims to analyse the characters of Indranath and Giribala from the perspective of Young Adult Dystopian protagonist.

Pectoral nerve blocks (Pecs I and Pecs II) are superficial thoracic wall blocks which block the pectoral and intercostal nerves. They can be used as analgesia/anesthesia for breast surgery and other procedures/surgeries involving the anterior chest wall (arteriovenous graft creation surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and thoracotomy, etc.). The aim of this study is to evaluate publications in the scientific field of pectoral nerve blocks. ISI Web of Knowledge-Science was used for the analysis. All scientific works published included in the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) from 1975 to January 27, 2019, were analyzed. A retrospective search was performed using key words "pectoral nerve block," "PECS I," "PECS II," "pecs block," "PECS block,""Pecs I," "Pecs II," "PECS 1," "PECS 2," and "modified pecs I block." We further analyzed these results by the "analyze" function of the software in terms of number of papers for each country, type of documentation, number of publications per year, and name of journals and authors. The number of citations to published works was also calculated by using the citation function of the same software. 72 papers were found related to pectoral nerve block. The biggest contribution was from India (24.28%), and followed by Japan (14.28%), USA (14.28%), Canada (7.14%), Egypt (7.14%), Italy (5.71%), and South Korea (5.71%). The total number of publications increased sharply in years from 2014 (n = 1) to 2018 (n = 28). We have detected that papers on the use of pecs block in breast cancer surgery, which is one of the most common surgical procedure in the world, are few in the literature. With this study, we hope to increase the awareness on this area. Signature is a biometrics trait widely used for personal verification in financial and most other organizations where financial and relevant types of transactions are done manually with signed authorized papers. A signature verification system aims to verify the minor structural differences between genuine and forged signatures, as most skilled forgery signatures look similar to their respective genuine signatures with specific deformations. Signature verification in a multi-cultural country like India is challenging in both writer-independent and script-independent scenarios where the Indian population uses multiple scripts to write their signatures. This paper reports a writer-independent offline signature verification system that uses Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture for feature extraction and classification. The objective of the proposed work is to model a CNN-based adaptable system to verify multi-scripted offline signatures. The model has been trained and tested on two publicly available databases, viz. CEDAR and BH-Sig260, which consist of Hindi, Bengali, and English signatures. Individual signature classes of unique scripts and a combination of these scripts have been considered for testing the proposed model that determines verification accuracies of 90%, 95%, 98.33%, and 93.33%, respectively. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has made research publications in indexed medical journals an obligatory requirement for promotion of medical teachers. In 2015, MCI guidelines said the first and the second author would receive credit for a research paper. In 2017, the amended guidelines provided credit to the first and the corresponding authors instead. We reviewed the common types of authorship order in medical publications from across the world and noted that before the 1990s, corresponding authors were rarely acknowledged and were not considered more important than any of the co-authors. By 2016, the corresponding author was usually the first or the last author. With an increase in collaborative research globally, more and more papers are published with multiple first, last or corresponding authors. Some journals have revised their Instructions to Authors to acknowledge co-first authors equally. Since 2017, PubMed also displays equal contributors in the author byline while still allowing searches for 'First author' and 'Last author' supporting the 'first and last author emphasis'. However, most guidelines mention that the authorship order is a collective decision of the authors. Any association between authorship sequence and credit for an article is debatable. Some journals allow or even insist on authorship statements to explain each contributor's role. Standardized vocabularies and taxonomies such as the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) system can highlight contributions of individual authors. Some suggest doing away with the authorship order altogether. Readers and assessors should look at the 'author contribution details' rather than the 'authorship order' before drawing any conclusions about contributions of each author. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: The high-cited publications (HCPs) (with 50 or more citations) on orthopedic research from India were analyzed on various parameters. Methodology: The HCPs that were published between 2002 and 2021, on the Indian orthopedic research and indexed in the Scopus database were evaluated on various parameters. A network analysis was used to evaluate and visualize the collaborative interaction among the most productive organizations, authors, and keywords using VOSviewer and Biblioshyn software. Results: Of the total 4606 publications, 179 (3.88%) were HCPs, that were cited 22767 times (averaging 127.19 citations per publication). An external funding was received in 24.58% of publications and 36.87% of publications had an international collaboration. The most productive organizations were the Indian Institute of Science - Bengaluru (n = 11), All India Institute of Medical Sciences - New Delhi, and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences - Kochi (n = 8 each) and the most impactful organizations in terms of citations per paper and relative citation index were Vellore Institute of Technology - Vellore, TIET - Patiala, and Lovely Professional University. The most productive authors were K. Chatterjee, D. Lahiri, and R. Vaishya. The most impactful authors were P. Mukherjee, S. Rajasekaran, and J. N. Babu in terms of citations per paper and relative citation index. Delhi was the epicenter of research and publications (n = 27). Material science and medicine contributed the largest number of publications (n = 77 and n = 73), followed by Engineering (n = 51). Treatment and clinical studies accounted maximally (24.58% and 8.38%) and hydroxyapatite (n = 40) was the most significant keyword appearing in the literature. Conclusion: This study provided an insight into understanding of research status including trends identified and studied the most influential contributions and performance of Indian organizations and authors and indicated broad and narrow subject fields contributing to this medical specialty. Purpose: The study is an attempt to measure the research output of Indian Institute Technology (IITs) in quantitative manner as appeared in Web of Science (WoS) database from 1989 - 2018 (14.09.2018). In addition to measure the research output, the study aims to investigate the contribution made by the IITs, the most productive authors and their collaborative attitude with highly cited articles etc. Design/Methodology/Approach: To accomplish the objectives of the study, the relevant data for the study was obtained from Web of Science (WoS) database. The bibliographical data were recorded in MS-Excel 2007 sheet for the analysis and interpretation. Findings: The research output during the period of 1989-2018 (Till 14/09/2018) was 1,36,156 in total and the year 2017 appears to have the highest research output with 13,651 publications of the total 1,36,156. And year 1990 followed by 1999 and 2000 were found with least number of publications with negative growth. Research Limitations/Implications: The present study is confined to the contribution of the IITs available in WoS database and the research results are confined to this database only. Originality/Value: The study examines the research output of IITs with special reference to WoS database for the period of 29 years i.e. 1989 - Sept., 2018. Indian surgeons have a substantial workload. But how much of it do we document and publish thus facilitating evidence-based practice? We undertook to document the contribution of Indian authors to the world literature in general surgery and to elicit the view of Indian surgeons regarding scientific publications. We carried out a search of articles in general surgical journals, published by Indian authors working in India. The journals chosen were those with an impact factor of more than 2. In addition, the Indian Journal of Surgery, with an impact factor of 0.55, was included as it is our flagship journal. The period of study was between January 2014 and April 2020. Additionally, a survey was carried out among the members of the Karnataka State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India. The survey was designed to elicit responses from surgeons regarding their attitude towards surgical publications. In American Journal of Surgery, British Journal of Surgery and Annals of Surgery only one original publication each was found. In Canadian Journal of Surgery and Journal of American Medical Association Surgery there were no publications in the study period. Surgeons put forth several reasons for this lack of publication culture—the main ones being lack of motivation, lack of data and lack of training to write. It is clear that Indian authors contributed to a minuscule number of papers in scientific surgical journals. The culture of publication must be inculcated from an early stage of surgical training. The present study is an attempt to discover quantitative research out of Webology journal for the year 2007-2013. It is observed from the analysis that the maximum numbers of research output were written by solo authors, whereas the minimum quantities of research articles were published by multiple authors. Maximum number of scholarly articles were published in 2008 whereas the minimum numbers of articles were in 2009. The maximum articles were contributed by Indian authors i.e. (18.99 %), followed by Australia and Iran (12.64%) with second rank. The maximum research output i.e. 40 contributions (50.64%) by multiple authors and the minimum research outputs of 39 contributions (49.36%) have been contributed by single author. In 1814, A.W. Roth received a herbarium collection of some 1500 plants from Benjamin Heyne. Most of these specimens came from southern India where Heyne had worked as a doctor and naturalist since 1792. Roth wrote up the material in his book Novae plantarum, which was published in 1821. However, he provided a manuscript copy to Roemer and Schultes, who were compiling an edition of Systema vegetabilium. Many of Roth's new names based on the Heyne material first appeared in the first six volumes of the Systema. In this paper, 411 names published in Novae plantarum are listed with their correct citation and typification. The typification of Roth's names is complicated by the loss of a high proportion of his personal herbarium in Berlin in 1943. Notable points include: Jasminum montanum Roth is the correct name for J. arborescens Roxb., Panicum pilosissimum Roth is the correct name for P. rudgei Roem. & Schult. and Euphorbia linearifolia Roth does not need to be replaced by E. deccanensis V.S.Raju. Edward B Taylor observes, "Culture is that complex whole which includes knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, laws, customs and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society" (Jayaseelam, 1999, p. 12). An Indian immigrant who migrates to different countries of the world has to encounter with different cultures; these cultures made India a country of pluralism. Nevertheless, plurality in Indian society is not the result of people moving into India, for India already had intrinsic plurality. The Hindu way of life with its umpteen philosophical systems and immense linguistic and literary diversities has given an Indian the advantage of being absorbed into any country in the world. The migrant cultures have only given the country a unique cultural enrichment that has been mutual. This article presents a thorough bibliometric analysis of research published in Annals of Library and Information Studies (ALIS), an India-based journal, for the period 2011–2017. Specifically, it compares this journal's trends with those of other library and information science (LIS) journals from the same geographical area (India, and Asia as a whole) and with the 10 highest-rated LIS journals worldwide. The source of the data used was the multidisciplinary database Scopus. To perform this comparison, ALIS' production was analyzed in order to identify authorship patterns; for example, authors' countries of residence, co-authorship trends, and collaboration networks. Research topics were identified through keyword analysis, while performance was measured by examining the number of citations articles received. This study provides substantial information. The research lines detected through examining the keywords in ALIS articles were determined to be similar to those for the top LIS journals in both Asia and worldwide. Specifically, ALIS authors are focusing on metrics, bibliometrics, and social networking, which follows global trends. Notably, however, collaboration among Asia-based journals was found to be lower than that in the top-indexed journals in the LIS field, showing lesser internationalization. Unlike Kamala Das and Maitreyi Devi, Pritam made a conscious decision to not self-translate her autobiography in English despite being a multilingual female author. In the twentieth century, when Pritam wrote about female emancipation and the strength of feminine authorship, English education was not offered to most women in the country.[35] Unlike Das or Devi, Pritam, although educated and plurilingual, lacked formal English education. With increase in the scope, scale and sophistication of digitisation, the line between fake and real is blurred. In the recent years, digital disinformation in the form of fake news or morphed pictures/videos has become a new normal on internet. Adding to this list are the artificial intelligence generated-Deepfakes. The wide use of deepfakes in cinematography, fake pornography, political campaigns etc. have fascinated the legal fraternity across the globe. Deepfakes raises many legal alarms including threat to privacy, cyber security, right to publicity, forgery, defamation, criminal intimidation, sedition, copyright infringement, copyright protection, authorship and the list continues. The concern of this article is to understand the copyright issues embroiled in deepfakes in Indian context. The first point of discussion is the sustainability of the claim of copyright infringement or right of publicity arising out of the modification and republication of original work to create deepfakes. Secondly, the creative use of deepfakes like in advanced cinematography would require copyright protection to the author. Objective. The rise of zoonotic diseases has become a global health issue around the world. The present study is aimed at assessing the global status and the trends in scrub typhus (ST) research. Methods. Publications related to ST studies from 1945 to 21st July 2020 were retrieved from the Scopus database. The search for the ST literature was conducted using the entry terms of the MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) database. Full research articles and reviews were included in the analysis, and no limitation to the language was specified. Key bibliometric indicator analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel, Bibliometrix (an R package), GraphPad Prism 5, and VOSviewer (version 1.6.6). Results. A total of 1567 publications were retrieved. The results revealed a significant increase in the number of ST publications over time. The documents received an average of 11.22 citations per document. Mahidol University in Thailand (258, 16.46%) was the most productive institution, while the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene published the most ST articles (88, 5.62%). Korea (195, 12.44%) was the most productive country, followed by India (178, 11.36%) and China (106, 6.76%). Richards AL was the most productive author with 36 articles. Conclusions. The study findings provide useful insights into the global efforts and works related to the progress of ST research, which can be used to identify future research areas, such as vaccine development. Research collaboration is promoted by governments and research funders, but if the relative prevalence and merits of collaboration vary internationally then different national and disciplinary strategies may be needed to promote it. This study compares the team size and field normalized citation impact of research across all 27 Scopus broad fields in the 10 countries with the most journal articles indexed in Scopus 2008–2012. The results show that team size varies substantially by discipline and country, with Japan (4.2) having two‐thirds more authors per article than the United Kingdom (2.5). Solo authorship is rare in China (4%) but common in the United Kingdom (27%). While increasing team size associates with higher citation impact in almost all countries and fields, this association is much weaker in China than elsewhere. There are also field differences in the association between citation impact and collaboration. For example, larger team sizes in the Business, Management & Accounting category do not seem to associate with greater research impact, and for China and India, solo authorship associates with higher citation impact in this field. Overall, there are substantial international and field differences in the extent to which researchers collaborate and the extent to which collaboration associates with higher citation impact. Objective: To evaluate the disparity in authorship based on gender and nationality of institutional affiliation among journals from developed and developing countries.Materials and Methods: Original articles from two neuroscience journals, with a 5 year impact factor >15 (Neuron and Nature Neuroscience) and from two neurology journals from a developing country (Neurology India and Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology) were categorized by gender and institutional affiliation of first and senior authors. Articles were further divided by the type of research (basic/translational/clinical), study/target population (adult/pediatrics/both) and field of neurology. Data was collected for the years 2002 and 2012.Results: There are large disparities in authorship by women and from developing countries in high impact factor neuroscience journals. However, there was a non-statistical rise in female first and senior authorship over a 10 year period. Additionally there was a significant increase in first authorship from institutions based in developing countries in the two neuroscience journals examined (P < 0.05). In the two neurology journals based in India there was a significant increase in the number of articles published by international investigators between 2002 and 2012 (P < 0.05).Conclusions: Over the last decade, there has been a non-statistical increase in proportion of female first and senior authors, and a significant increase in authors from developing countries in high impact factor neuroscience journals. This article attempts to explore the cultural and patriarchal relevance of child sexual abuse in a conservative town in India, with a special interest in understanding the current problems experienced by teenage girls in India. A questionnaire was distributed to 100 respondents who belonged to Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Thiruparangundram, Madurai. The questionnaire was developed with special reference to the female protagonist, Lily in Jaishree Misra’sSecrets and Lies. The resulting article also includes an e-interview with Jaishree Misra. The researchers hypothesize that change can be envisioned when the social conscience is awakened to cruel events that happen in the Indian population.
