Interactions in the healthcare system today involve an important new set of actors: evaluative health platforms (EHPs). These platforms are not neutral intermediaries, but active moderators of how patients express opinions, choose providers, and consume health-related information. This paper adds to our understanding of the varied and evolving commercial interests of EHPs and the implications these have for patient voice. We analyze 71 platforms in the USA, UK, and Germany and identify five ideal types: subscribers, analyzers, advertisers, regulators, and scammers. Each platform type enacts a unique competitive strategy through an evaluative infrastructure which constrains but also generates possibilities for patient voice. Based on our typology, we develop three contributions. First, we nuance universalizing claims about the consequences of platform capitalism by specifying the diverse strategies underpinning competition between EHPs in different countries, and showing how each strategy leads evaluative infrastructures to develop in ways that impact patient voice. Second, we show how patients can navigate the challenges of a complex EHP space by exercising their ability to choose between platforms. Finally, we outline the conditions platforms need to fulfil to become empowering. Discrete-event simulation is an established method to support decision making for planning tasks in production and logistics. However, there are still many enterprises, especially smaller companies that do not use discrete-event simulation because of the high costs associated with buying and maintaining commercial simulation tools. The question is whether or not free discrete-event simulation software is an alternative to commercial tools for solving typical planning tasks in production and logistics. The paper analyzes the modeling process with the three free and open-source discrete-event simulation tools Salabim, JaamSim and CloudSim and compares them with the two standard commercial simulation packages Arena and Plant Simulation. JaamSim provides everything which is necessary to model typical planning tasks in production and logistics and proves as a real alternative to commercial discrete-event simulation tools. Introduction: Communication of hazards related to chemical products is an essential aspect for improving customer confidence in electronic commerce. Objective: To examine the regulated hazard statements for swimming pool chemicals advertised and sold to the public over the Internet. Methodology: We randomly selected 40 hazardous chemicals for swimming pools sold in online stores over the Internet. Data were captured from 8 different companies' websites with headquarters in Andalusia (Spain). Results: Chemical advertisements without visible hazard statements were predominant (n = 25). In all cases, hazard statements on product labels displayed on the websites were illegible. Only 3 chemical products showed codes and visible hazard statements on their website. Conclusion: The protection of e-commerce consumers and customers concerning chemical safety could be compromised due to the lack of relevant information about selling hazardous products over the Internet. Digital applications and tools that capture and analyze consumer behaviors are proliferating at a bewildering rate. Analysis of data from large numbers of consumers is transforming advertising, generating new revenue streams for mobile apps, and leading to new discoveries in health care. Introduction: In this research we will focus on online contents offered by the Red Bull brand either through its website www.redbull.tv or through its Red Bull TV App. As a brand, Red Bull needs to stand out amongst all the advertising noise, it needs to make itself be noticed and reach its consumers, but today audiences are fragmented, audiences are not submitted to the programmatic dictates of televisions. More and more, and especially in the young public, which is the one that identifies with the brand the most, it is an active public that generates its own programming grids, looking for what it really wants to see. So, how does a brand achieve to be heard? Through Rock&Love: surprise and give love. Hypothesis: Our hypothesis from the start is that Red Bull, in the search of connecting with its public, it offers contents of its interest which reaffirm the approach towards the brand, thus achieving Rock&Love. Objectives: According to the hypothesis, three objectives will guide this research: first, to know the codes of Red Bull in the digital environment. Second, to carry out an analysis of contents used by the brand to approach its users keeping in mind the new consumption habits. Third, to analyse the difference of contents depending on the media where it is issued. Methodology: In order to confirm our hypothesis or not, we will use the qualitative and quantitative method. The techniques to be used will be the documental observation and contents analysis. Conclusions: This Ad Hoc contents analysis enabled obtaining quantitative data and made the approach to our objectives in a qualitative manner easier, therefore, the starting hypothesis has been responded and it is confirmed that the brand uses Rock&Love in the contents shown through the different platforms of Red Bull TV.
