The smooth operation of the power system is of significant importance for ensuring societal stability. Therefore, regular inspections of the power system are necessary. The most efficient method for power inspection is to utilize Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to assist inspection. However, the UAV inspection still needs human resources to operate and manage the UAVs effectively. This paper proposes a UAV-airport power inspection system, where the airport can operate and manage UAVs instead of humans. The key contribution of the system is the computation offloading technology and the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) capability. In other words, the airport can help UAVs execute electrical image fault detection and the UAVs can be charged by the airport. We propose a joint optimization strategy for UAV flight speed, local execution frequency for fault detection, and WPT time to maximize the number of images in the electrical dataset captured by the UAV that have undergone power fault detection within the inspection time. The mechanical properties of wheat grains were measured and analyzed using discrete element software, which provided crucial data for their processing in a mill. The foundational Hertz–Mindlin model was used as a theoretical framework to evaluate the accumulation angle of wheat grains. The Plackett–Burman, steepest ascent, and Box–Behnken methods were utilized in a series of experiments, with the accumulation angle serving as the dependent variable. Targeting the actual angle of repose in the response surface, the optimal parameters were derived using the regression equations. These included a static‐friction coefficient of 0.3 between individual wheat grains, rolling‐friction coefficient of 0.04 for wheat–wheat interactions, static‐friction coefficient of 0.554 for wheat–tooth roller interactions, collision recovery coefficient of 0.5 for wheat–wheat collisions, collision recovery coefficient of 0.45 for wheat–tooth roller collisions, and rolling‐friction coefficient of 0.05 for wheat–roller interactions. Relying on the bonding contact model of Hertz–Mindlin, virtual uniaxial compression tests were conducted to calibrate the wheat grain bonding parameters. A regression equation for the critical load was subsequently generated using the critical load of the wheat grain bonding model as the response variable. The optimal parameters were calculated and incorporated into the EDEM model for computation, which resulted in a relative error of 1.6% between the calculated and observed values, confirming the accuracy and feasibility of the calibration method, suggesting that the calibrated parameters were accurate. Hydrogen production modules (HPMs) play a crucial role in harnessing abundant photovoltaic power by producing and supplying hydrogen to factories, resulting in significant operational cost reductions and efficient utilization of the photovoltaic panel output. However, the output of photovoltaic power is stochastic, which will affect the revenue of investing in an HPM. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of HPMs, starting with the modeling of their operational process and investigating their influence on distribution system operations. Building upon these discussions, a deterministic optimization model is established to address the corresponding challenges. Furthermore, a two-stage stochastic planning model is proposed to determine optimal locations and sizes of HPMs in distribution systems, accounting for uncertainties. The objective of the two-stage stochastic planning model is to minimize the distribution system's operational costs plus the investment costs of the HPM subject to power flow constraints. To tackle the stochastic nature of photovoltaic power, a data-driven algorithm is introduced to cluster historical data into representative scenarios, effectively reducing the planning model's scale. To ensure an efficient solution, a Benders' decomposition-based algorithm is proposed, which is an iterative method with a fast convergence speed. The proposed model and algorithms are validated using a widely utilized IEEE 33-bus system through numerical experiments, demonstrating the optimality of the HPM plan generated by the algorithm. The proposed model and algorithms offer an effective approach for decision-makers in managing uncertainties and optimizing HPM deployment, paving the way for sustainable and efficient energy solutions in distribution systems. Random Forest (RF) is a widely used machine learning method with good performance on classification and regression tasks. It works well under low sample size situations, which benefits applications in the field of biology. For example, gene expression data often involve much larger numbers of features (p) compared to the size of samples (n) . Though the predictive accuracy using RF is often high, there are some problems when selecting important genes using RF. The important genes selected by RF are usually scattered on the gene network, which conflicts with the biological assumption of functional consistency between effective features. To improve feature selection by incorporating external topological information between genes, we propose the Graph Random Forest (GRF) for identifying highly connected important features by involving the known biological network when constructing the forest. The algorithm can identify effective features that form highly connected sub-graphs and achieve equivalent classification accuracy to RF. To evaluate the capability of our proposed method, we conducted simulation experiments and applied the method to two real datasets—non-small cell lung cancer RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas, and human embryonic stem cell RNA-seq dataset (GSE93593). The resulting high classification accuracy, connectivity of selected sub-graphs, and interpretable feature selection results suggest the method is a helpful addition to graph-based classification models and feature selection procedures. The solid-fuel rotating detonation engine with gas generator is experimentally studied in this paper. This study solved the problems of ignition and stable detonation of pre-combustion gasification injection. The feasibility of solid pre-combustion rotating detonation is verified. A set of gas generators was designed and ignition tests were carried out. The detonation wave velocity is about 2625 m/s in the stable stage, which is about 20% higher than that generated by hydrogen/oxygen detonation. A maximum thrust of 69 N is obtained. Stable detonation pressure signal was obtained in our experiments. It is found that the detonation wave has experienced four stages in the formation process: deflagration, deflagration to detonation transition (DDT) process, galloping detonation, and stable detonation. Over the last decades, growing crop production across China has had far-reaching consequences for both the environment and human welfare. One of the emerging questions is "how to meet the growing food demand in China?" In essence, the consensus is that the best way forward would be to increase crop yield rather than further extend the current cropland area. However, assessing progress in crop production is challenging as it is driven by multiple factors. To date, there are no studies to determine how multiple factors affect the crop production increase, considering both intensive farming (using yield and multiple cropping index) and large-scale farming (using mean parcel size and number of parcels). Using the Logarithmic-Mean-Divisia-Index (LMDI) decomposition method combined with statistical data and land cover data (GlobeLand30), we assess the contribution of intensive farming and large-scale farming changes to crop production dynamics at the national and county scale. Despite a negative contribution from MPS (mean parcel size, −25%), national crop production increased due to positive contributions from yield (+77%), MCI (multiple cropping index, +27%), as well as NP (number of parcels, +21%). This allowed China to meet the growing national crop demand. We further find that large differences across regions persist over time. For most counties, the increase in crop production is a consequence of improved yields. However, in the North China Plain, NP is another important factor leading to crop production improvement. On the other hand, regions witnessing a decrease in crop production (e.g., the southeast coastal area of China) were characterized by a remarkable decrease in yield and MCI. Our detailed analyses of crop production provide accurate estimates and therefore can guide policymakers in addressing food security issues. Specifically, besides stabilizing yield and maintaining the total NP, it would be advantageous for crop production to increase the mean parcel size and MCI through land consolidation and financial assistance for land transfer and advanced agricultural infrastructure. Inflatable tubes, owing to their lightweight and foldable characteristics, have important applications in soft robots and space expandable structures. The application of a bending load to the inflated tube might induce local instability on its compressed side, leading to the formation of wrinkles that could potentially compromise the structural strength. Therefore, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the wrinkling behavior exhibited by inflated tubes under bending load. Initially, a theoretical solution is developed for the critical wrinkling behavior of inflated tubes under pure bending, drawing upon the principle of minimum potential energy. According to the energy expression of the system, the critical wrinkling behavior of inflated tubes depends on dimensionless geometrical and internal pressure parameters. The critical wrinkling load and wrinkle pattern of the system are influenced by the thickness-radius ratio and the ratio of internal air pressure to Young's modulus. Subsequently, the theoretical solutions are validated through several finite element analysis examples and a systematic investigation is conducted into the influence of dimensionless geometrical and internal pressure parameters. Finally, the evolution of morphology in post-buckling is investigated through numerical results. The findings suggest that during post-buckling, the wrinkles may undergo a secondary bifurcation and evolve into a non-axisymmetric diamond-like pattern. Background: To analyze the characteristics of basal thyroid hormone levels in infertile women consulting for assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment.Methods: This was a retrospective study. Serum TSH, FT3 and FT4 levels of women seeking ART consultation were tested routinely. Analyses were performed based on age and sampling time. One-way ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test was used to compare the continuous data among the groups, and the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test was used to compare categorical data where appropriate.Results: A total of 6426 women were initially included in the study. After exclusion criteria were applied, the remaining 4126 women were categorized into different groups. The prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism significantly decreased with age and sampling time, from 21.09 to 11.91% and from 28.57 to 10.67%, respectively (P < 0.001, respectively). Mean serum TSH, FT3, and FT4 levels decreased significantly with age (P = 0.017, < 0.001, < 0.001, respectively). In the context of sampling time, TSH levels from early in the morning were significantly higher (P < 0.001), while FT4 and FT3 levels were similar in different groups (P = 0.258, 0.300, respectively).Conclusions: The prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism significantly decreased with increasing age and sampling time, as did the serum TSH levels. Even though, the establishment of reference interval of TSH level based on age or sampling time was not recommended. In this study, we employed a straightforward in-situ synthesis strategy to fabricate multi-site adsorption functional composites known as aminated chitosan@ZIF-8 (AmCs@ZIF-8) for the efficient removal of Cu(II) and Congo red. The AmCs@ZIF-8 adsorbed Cu(II) at pH 5 and Congo red at pH 3 with excellent removal efficiency values of 94 % and 100 % respectively. The maximum adsorption capacity for Cu(II) and Congo red are obtained as 785 mg g−1 and 1156 mg g−1, respectively. Interestingly, AmCs@ZIF-8 composites exhibited an excellent removal efficiency (>80 %) after reusing them for four sequential cycles. Analysis of the adsorption isotherm and kinetic data indicated that chemisorption primarily governed the adsorption of Cu(II) and Congo red by AmCs@ZIF-8. Furthermore, we elucidated the adsorption energy of Cu(II) and Congo red on the AmCs@ZIF-8 composite through density functional theory. Specifically, the adsorption energy values for Cu(II) with AmCs and ZIF-8 were −20.907 and −57.809 kcal·mol−1, and −26.514 and −16.242 kcal·mol−1 for Congo red, respectively. The efficient adsorption mechanism of Cu(II) and Congo red on the AmCs@ZIF-8 composite can be attributed to the synergistic effects of chelation, electrostatic attraction, ion exchange, and hydrogen bonding through the analysis of experimental characterization and theoretical calculation. Therefore, AmCs@ZIF-8 composites elevate the adsorption capacity of Cu(II) and Congo red in a single-component system and exhibit high removal efficiency (>90 %) in the context of the Cu(II)-Congo red binary system. With the emergence and massive spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it is urgent to develop new bactericidal technologies. Photocatalytic sterilization is a technique that uses solar energy to produce reactive oxygen species to kill pathogenic bacteria, and ROS effects depends on the charge separation characteristics of photocatalysts, so the development of strategies to promote charge separation is crucial. Here, we use the strategy of introducing sulfur vacancy on SnS 2 , effectively improving the separation of photogenerated charge. The femtosecond transient absorption results confirm that the charge lifetime of SnS 2 (Sv-SnS 2) after the introduction of the sulfur vacancy is 13.33 times that of pristine SnS 2. The DFT theoretical results confirm that sulfur vacancy causes spin polarization. It is easier to separate when the spin direction of the electrons and holes changes. In addition, the sulfur vacancy also expands the light absorption range and exposes the surface catalytic site. These phenomena lead to a higher ROS yield of Sv-SnS 2 (confirmed by electron paramagnetic resonance results). Thus, Sv-SnS 2 killed 99.99 % of E. coli and MRSA within 40 min under visible-light illumination. This efficient bactericidal performance can be attributed to improved photogenerated charge separation. This study confirms the effectiveness of sulfur vacancy strategy to improve charge separation and extend charge life, and applies it to the killing of antibiotic resistant bacteria, providing a new idea for the killing of resistant bacteria. Purpose. To investigate the association between high-normal preconception TSH levels and reproductive outcomes in infertile women undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer. Methods. This was a retrospective study. Euthyroid patients undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer from January 2018 to May 2019 were initially included. The patients were divided into a low-TSH (0.27–2.5 mIU/L) group and a high-normal TSH (2.5–4.2 Miu) group. The reproductive outcomes were compared between the groups. Results. A total of 1786 women were ultimately included, in which 1008 of whom had serum TSH levels between 0.27 and 2.5 mIU/L and 778 of whom had serum TSH levels between 2.5 and 4.2 mIU/L. The patients were highly homogeneous in terms of general characteristics. High-normal TSH levels had no adverse impact on the clinical pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate, or live birth rate (respectively, aOR = 0.92, 1.30, and 0.88 and P = 0.416, 0.163, and 0.219). No significant differences were observed in terms of gestational age, single live birth rates, and birth weight, or birth length. Conclusion. High-normal TSH levels did not significantly influence reproductive outcomes in infertile women undergoing the first fresh D3 embryo transfer. Global food trade has become an increasingly crucial element for feeding the world's population. Enhancing bilateral or multilateral trust in food safety in international food trade is not only important for promoting the sustainable development of trade but is also beneficial for cooperation when facing a global food crisis. However, highly credible traceability systems (TSs) for the cross‐border movement of food are still absent in many countries and regions. Blockchain is regarded as a promising technology that can help build trust for transparency and security issues. In this paper, an interconnected conceptual traceability framework based on blockchain is proposed in order to increase trust in food safety during food trade. Taking the food trade between China and the European Union as an example, a conceptual framework is designed in order to take full advantage of existing TSs in these two locations, and the features of logistical flow, data flow, and blockchain flow are analyzed. Considering the data capacity and data privacy level, a hybrid data storage method combining on‐chain and off‐chain is adopted. Smart contracts according to the features of cross‐border food trade—including the recording of exportation data, exporter inspection data, shipment data, importer inspection data, importation data, and tracing queries—are packaged and deployed to a blockchain network. An effective operation mechanism involving the distribution of related rights for different roles is presented. The blockchain‐based TS framework has the advantages of enhancing bilateral trust in cross‐border food trade, providing a flexible and intelligent technical framework, and having effective operability. Background: Non-intubated thoracoscopic lung surgery has been reported to be technically feasible and safe. Spontaneous rupture of the esophagus, also known as Boerhaave's syndrome (BS), is rare after chest surgery.Case Presentation: A 60-year-old female non-smoker underwent non-intubated uniportal thoracoscopic wedge resection for a pulmonary nodule. Ultrasound-guided serratus anterior plane block was utilized for postoperative analgesia. However, the patient suffered from severe emesis, chest pain and dyspnea 6 h after the surgery. Emergency chest x-ray revealed right-sided hydropneumothorax. BS was diagnosed by chest tube drainage and computed tomography. Besides antibiotics and tube feeding, a naso-leakage drainage tube was inserted into the right thorax for pleural evacuation. Finally, the esophagus was healed 40d after the conservative treatment.Conclusions: Perioperative antiemetic therapy is an indispensable item of fast-track surgery. High-normal TSH levels had no adverse impact on the clinical pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate, or live birth rate (respectively, aOR = 0.84, 0.65, 0.61, and P = 0.234 , 0.145, 0.083). No significant differences were observed in terms of gestational age, single live birth rates, birth weight, or birth length. Conclusion. High-normal TSH levels did not significantly influence reproductive outcomes in infertile women undergoing the first single fresh D5 blastocyst transfer. Information on global cropland distribution and agricultural production is critical for the world's agricultural monitoring and food security. We present datasets of cropland extent and agricultural production in a two-paper series of a cultivated planet in 2010. In the first part, we propose a new Self-adapting Statistics Allocation Model (SASAM) to develop the global map of cropland distribution. SASAM is based on the fusion of multiple existing cropland maps and multilevel statistics of the cropland area, which is independent of training samples. First, cropland area statistics are used to rank the input cropland maps, and then a scoring table is built to indicate the agreement among the input datasets. Secondly, statistics are allocated adaptively to the pixels with higher agreement scores until the cumulative cropland area is close to the statistics. The multilevel allocation results are then integrated to obtain the extent of cropland. We applied SASAM to produce a global cropland synergy map with a 500 m spatial resolution for circa 2010. The accuracy assessments show that the synergy map has higher accuracy than the input datasets and better consistency with the cropland statistics. The synergy cropland map is available via an open-data repository (10.7910/DVN/ZWSFAA; Lu et al., 2020). This new cropland map has been used as an essential input to the Spatial Production Allocation Model (SPAM) for producing the global dataset of agricultural production for circa 2010, which is described in the second part of the two-paper series. Objective. To evaluate the impact of preconceptional serum TSH levels on the clinical outcomes of infertile patients undergoing their first IUI treatment cycle. Method. This was a retrospective study. Euthyroid patients undergoing the first cycle of IUI treatment from Jan 2017 to Aug 2018 were included. The patients were divided into a normal high TSH level (2.5–4.0 mIU/L) group and a low TSH level (0.4–2.5 mIU/L) group. Then, different factors were included separately to compare the outcomes between normal high and low TSH levels. The primary outcomes were clinical pregnancy rates, implantation rates, and miscarriage rates. The secondary outcomes were obstetric outcomes such as single live birth rates, birth length, birth weight, and duration of gestation. Results. Initially, 1856 patients were included, and 371 patients were excluded for different reasons. A total of 1485 patients were finally included in the analysis. The general parameters between normal high and low TSH levels were similar except for infertile duration and female BMI, which were, however, significantly different between AID-IUI patients and AIH-IUI patients (P = 0.005 and P = 0016). No significant differences were found in terms of either primary outcomes or secondary outcomes. Conclusion. Normal high-serum TSH levels within the reference range (0.4–4.0 mIU/L) measured before treatment seemed to have no adverse impact on the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing their first IUI treatment cycle. The pairwise separability index (SI) has been demonstrated as an effective indicator for capturing crucial phenological differences between two plant species. However, its application to crop types, which have more obvious phenological characteristics than natural vegetation, has received less attention, and extending the pairwise SI to multiple crops for feature selection still remains a challenge. This paper presented two SI extension approaches (\textSI\mathrm{ave} and \textSI\min) to select the optimal spectro-temporal features for multiple crops, and investigated their classification performance using Heilongjiang Province, China, as a study area. Feature interpretability and classification accuracy of different crops were evaluated for the two approaches. The results showed that the \textSI\mathrm{ave} approach generally has relatively high feature interpretability due to its better description of crucial phenological characteristics of different crops. Those crops with high separability are insensitive to the extension approach and have similar classification accuracy for the two approaches, whereas those crops with poor separability show good performance with the \textSI\min method. Due to the higher temporal autocorrelation, the optimal features for crop classification that are selected by the \textSI\mathrm{ave} approach exhibit greater information redundancy across the time domain than those that are selected by the \textSI\min approach, which largely explains the relatively low classification accuracy achieved using the \textSI\mathrm{ave} approach. These comparison results between \textSI\min and \textSI\mathrm{ave} approaches also indicate that time-series images with high temporal resolution do not necessarily produce high classification accuracy, regardless of their ability to describe the seasonal characteristics of crops. Photodetector based on two‐dimensional (2D) materials is an ongoing quest in optoelectronics. 2D photodetectors are generally efficient at low illuminating power but suffer severe recombination processes at high power, which results in the sublinear power‐dependent photoresponse and lower optoelectronic efficiency. The desirable superlinear photocurrent is mostly achieved by sophisticated 2D heterostructures or device arrays, while 2D materials rarely show intrinsic superlinear photoresponse. This work reports the giant superlinear power dependence of photocurrent based on multilayer Ta2NiS5. While the fabricated photodetector exhibits good sensitivity (3.1 mS W−1per □) and fast photoresponse (31 µs), the bias‐, polarization‐, and spatial‐resolved measurements point to an intrinsic photoconductive mechanism. By increasing the incident power density from 1.5 to 200 µW µm−2, the photocurrent power dependence varies from sublinear to superlinear. At higher illuminating conditions, prominent superlinearity is observed with a giant power exponent of γ = 1.5. The unusual photoresponse can be explained by a two‐recombination‐center model where density of states of the recombination centers (RC) effectively closes all recombination channels. The photodetector is integrated into camera for taking photos with enhanced contrast due to superlinearity. Photocatalytic CO2 reduction to valuable hydrocarbon solar fuel is of great significance but still challenging. Strong CO2 enrichment ability and easily adjustable structures make metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) potential photocatalysts for CO2 conversion. Even though pure MOFs have the potential for photoreduction of CO2, the efficiency is still quite low due to rapid photogenerated electron–hole recombination and other drawbacks. In this work, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) were in situ encapsulated into highly stable MOFs via a solvothermal method for this challenging task. The GQDs@PCN-222 with encapsulated GQDs showed similar Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD) patterns to PCN-222, indicating the retained structure. As most of the GQDs were covered by thick PCN-222, it was hard to observe those GQDs using a transmission electron microscope (TEM) and a high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) directly, the treatment of digested GQDs@PCN-222 particles by immersion in a 1 mM aqueous KOH solution can make the incorporated GQDs visible in TEM and HRTEM. The introduction of GQDs inside PCN-222 can effectively promote the spatial separation of the photogenerated electron–hole pairs during the photocatalytic process, which was proved by the transient photocurrent plot and photoluminescence emission spectra. Compared with pure PCN-222, the obtained GQDs@PCN-222 displayed dramatically enhanced CO production derived from CO2 photoreduction with 147.8 μmol/g/h in a 10 h period under visible light irradiation with triethanolamine (TEOA) as a sacrificial agent. To investigate whether there is a relationship between TSH levels on the 14th day post embryo transfer (D14 TSH levels) and the reproductive outcomes in euthyroid women who are free from levothyroxine (LT4) treatment and undergo the first in vitro fertilization /intracytoplasmic sperm injection embryo transfer (IVF/ICSI-ET) cycles with the homogeneous ovarian stimulation protocols. This was a prospective study including a total of 599 euthyroid women undergoing the first IVF/ICSI ET cycles. Serum samples were collected and frozen on the 14th day post embryo transfer. TSH levels were measured after the confirmation of clinical pregnancy. The patients were divided into three groups (low-normal ≤ 2.5 mIU/L; high-normal 2.5–4.2 mIU/L; and high > 4.2 mIU/L) based on D14 TSH levels. Reproductive outcomes were compared among the three groups. Binary logistic regression analyses and generalized additive mixed models with smoothing splines were used to investigate the relationship between TSH levels and reproductive outcomes. D14 TSH levels were significantly elevated compared to basal TSH levels, and the degree of TSH elevation was significantly higher in pregnant women compared to that in non-pregnant women. The clinical pregnancy and live birth rates increased significantly in the high-normal D14 TSH groups, and doubled in the high D14 TSH groups compared to the low TSH groups. When adjusted by age, basal TSH, AMH, E2, endometrial thickness, type and causes of infertility, and transferred embryos, the dose-dependent relationships between D14 TSH and clinical pregnancy and live birth were observed. Obstetric outcomes in singleton or twins live birth among the different D14 TSH groups were similar. Elevated D14 TSH levels were associated with better clinical pregnancy and live birth rates, and were not associated with worse obstetric outcomes. Background. The isolation of tigecycline-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in recent years has brought great difficulties to clinical prevention and treatment. Purpose. To explore the effect of efflux pump system and other resistance related gene mutations on tigecycline resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii. Methods. Fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression levels of major efflux pump genes (adeB, adeJ, and adeG) in extensive drug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of tigecycline was detected by the broth microdilution testing and efflux pump inhibition experiment to assess the role of efflux pump in tigecycline resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii. Efflux pump regulatory genes (adeR and adeS) and tigecycline resistance related genes (rpsJ, trm, and plsC) were amplified by PCR and sequenced. By sequence alignment, tigecycline sensitive and tigecycline-insensitive Acinetobacter baumannii were compared with standard strains to analyze the presence of mutations in these genes. Results. The relative expression of adeB in the tigecycline-insensitive Acinetobacter baumannii was significantly higher than that in the tigecycline sensitive Acinetobacter baumannii (114.70 (89.53-157.43) vs 86.12 (27.23-129.34), P = 0.025). When efflux pump inhibitor carbonyl cyanide 3-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP) was added, the percentage of tigecycline-insensitive Acinetobacter baumannii with tigecycline MIC decreased was significantly higher than that of tigecycline-sensitive Acinetobacter baumannii (10/13 (76.9%) vs 26/59 (44.1%)), P = 0.032); the relative expression of adeB in the MIC decreased group was significantly higher than that in the MIC unchanged group (110.29 (63.62-147.15) vs 50.06 (26.10-122.59), P = 0.02); The relative expression levels of efflux pumps adeG and adeJ did not increase significantly, and there was no significant difference between these groups. One adeR point mutation (Gly232Ala) and eight adeS point mutations (Ala97Thr, Leu105Phe, Leu172Pro, Arg195Gln, Gln203Leu, Tyr303Phe, Lys315Asn, Gly319Ser) were newly detected. Consistent mutations in trm and plsC genes were detected in both tigecycline-insensitive and tigecycline-sensitive Acinetobacter baumannii, but no mutation in rpsJ gene was detected in them. Conclusion. Tigecycline-insensitive Acinetobacter baumannii efflux pump adeABC overexpression was an important mechanism for tigecycline resistance, and the mutations of efflux pump regulator genes (adeR and adeS) are responsible for adeABC overexpression. Lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) is the most widely used cathode materials in electronic devices due to the high working potential and dense tap density, but the performance is limited by the unstable interfaces at high potential. Herein, LiF thin film is sputtered on the surface of LCO electrodes for enhancing the electrochemical performance and reducing the voltage polarization. The polarization components are discussed and quantified by analyzing the relationship between electrochemical polarization and charger transfer resistance, as well as that between concentration polarization and Li-ion diffusion coefficients. In addition, the decreased charge transfer resistance, increased lithium-ion diffusion coefficients, and stabilized crystal structure of LiF-coated LCO are confirmed by various electrochemical tests and in-situ XRD experiments. Compared to that of pristine LCO, the capacity and cycling performance of LiF-coated LCO is improved, and the overpotential is reduced upon cycling. This work provides reference for quantifying the various polarization components, and the strategy of coating LiF film could be applied in developing other analogous cathode materials. Background: Pulmonary sequestration (PS) is a rare lesion with independent blood supply from an anomalous systemic artery. A timely resection is considered as the best treatment for PS. Three-dimensional computed tomography angiography (3D-CTA) has been widely utilized for precise thoracic surgery. This study aimed to investigate the role of preoperative 3D-CTA and resection simulation in uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) anatomical lung surgery for PS.Methods: The data of 20 consecutive PS patents undergoing anatomic lung resection between April 2011 and May 2021 in a single centre were retrospectively reviewed. These patients were divided into the 3D-CTA group (10 patients) and the control group (10 patients) according to the initial surgical planning with or without 3D-CTA. The perioperative parameters regarding safety and fluency such as the incidence of conversion to open thoracotomy, operation time, blood loss, complications and chest tube duration were analyzed.Results: This cohort included 12 female and 8 male patients, with a mean age of 45 years old (range 24-60 years). Nine cases demonstrated recurrent febrile, cough, or hemoptysis; whereas the other 11 patients were asymptomatic on admission. Eighteen (90.0%) intralobar and 2 extralobar PS were confirmed, whereas 18 (90.0%) lesions were located in the left thorax. The feeding vessels originated from the thoracic aorta in 16 patients (80.0%), the abdominal aorta in 3 (15.0%), and the inferior phrenic artery in 1 patient (5.0%). There was no major bleeding or 30 days mortality. The initial surgical planning included 9 uniportal and 1 two-port VATS in the 3D-CTA group, as compared with 10 two-port VATS in the control group. Thirteen lobectomies, 5 segmentectomies and 2 mass excisions were performed. However, no conversion was needed in the 3D-CTA group; whereas 6 (60.0%) conversions (4 to multiple-port and 2 to thoracotomy) occurred in the control group, indicating a significant difference (P = 0.003). In addition, the operation time in the 3D-CTA group was significantly shorter than those in the control group [(108.5 ± 24.9) min vs. (154.5 ± 39.4) min, P = 0.006]. The other surgery-related outcomes were similar between the two groups.Conclusion: Preoperative 3D-CTA facilitates the safe and fluent performance of uniportal VATS anatomical lung resection for PS with shortened operation time and lessened surgical conversions. In this study, we introduce a novel magnetic core–shell adsorbent, Fe 3 O 4 @UiO-66-PDA. It features a polydopamine (PDA) modified zirconium-based metal–organic framework (UiO-66) synthesized through a simple solvothermal method. The adsorbent boasts a unique core–shell architecture with a high specific surface area, abundant micropores, and remarkable thermal stability. The adsorption capabilities of six metal ions (Fe3+, Mn2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, Hg2+, and Cd2+) were systematically investigated, guided by the theory of hard and soft acids and bases. Among these, three representative metal ions (Fe3+, Pb2+, and Hg2+) were scrutinized in detail. The activated Fe 3 O 4 @UiO-66-PDA exhibited exceptional adsorption capacities for these metal ions, achieving impressive values of 97.99 mg/g, 121.42 mg/g, and 130.72 mg/g, respectively, at pH 5.0. Moreover, the adsorbent demonstrated efficient recovery from aqueous solution using an external magnet, maintaining robust adsorption efficiency (>80%) and stability even after six cycles. To delve deeper into the optimized adsorption of Hg2+, density functional theory (DFT) analysis was employed, revealing an adsorption energy of -2.61 eV for Hg2+. This notable adsorption capacity was primarily attributed to electron interactions and coordination effects. Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of TSH levels on clinical outcomes 14 days after frozen-thawed embryo transfer.Methods: Blood samples were collected on the first visit to our department and 14 days after embryo transfer. Women were divided into three groups based on D14 TSH levels, which were compared to basal TSH levels in groups with different clinical outcomes. TSH levels between pregnant and nonpregnant women were also compared.Results: The clinical pregnancy rate in women with lower TSH levels 14 days after transfer was slightly but significantly lower (56%, P = 0.05) compared to those with higher TSH levels. Furthermore, TSH levels were significantly elevated 14 days after transfer compared to basal TSH levels in pregnant women and in women who successfully became pregnant (P < 0.001, respectively).Conclusions: Elevated TSH levels 14 days after embryo transfer compared to basal TSH levels seem to play a protective role and predict favorable clinical outcomes under specific conditions. Background: Neurogenic tumor arising within the pulmonary sequestration (PS) is rare.Case Presentation: A 42-year-old asymptomatic female was referred to our hospital for work-up of extralobar PS. The independent feeding artery from the thoracic aorta was confirmed by three-dimensional computed tomography angiography (3D-CTA). Uniportal thoracoscopic resection of the sequestrated lung with mediastinal lymph node sampling was performed successfully. Ganglioneurofibroma within the PS was diagnosed as the specimen revealed positive expression of SRY-related HMG-box 10 protein, neuron-specific enolase, S-100, chromogranin A and synuclein. Tumor recurrence was not recorded 1 year after the surgery.Conclusion: Preoperative 3D-CTA is useful to identify the aberrant vessels of PS. In order to investigate the mechanical property deterioration and fracture characteristics of granite under different temperature drop and thermal cycle conditions, the evolution laws of mechanical properties, acoustic emission event distribution, and macro and micro failure characteristics of granite under different temperature changes were studied and analyzed by the servo loading, acoustic emission monitoring, and scanning electron microscope systems. The following conclusions were gained from the test results. (1) The peak stress and elasticity modulus of the three temperature drop treatments all decreased with the increase of the number of thermal cycles. In terms of magnitude, the following relationship was satisfied: 10°C > 15°C > 20°C. After 8 cycles, the peak stress and elasticity modulus tended to be stable for 15°C and 20°C temperature drops. (2) At a temperature drop of 20°C, the heterogeneity first increased and then tended to be stable; when the temperature was dropped by 15°C at each cycle, however, the heterogeneity first decreased and then became stable; as for the case of 10°C, the heterogeneity showed an overall decreasing trend. After 4 cycles, the heterogeneities were ranked as 15°C > 20°C > 10°C. After 8 cycles, 20°C > 15°C > 10°C. (3) With the decrease of temperature drop amplitude or the increase of cycles, the connectivity of microcracks in granite improved on the whole, the aperture and shape factor of microcracks increased, the damage of granite intensified, and the duration of the quiet period in the acoustic emission ringing count rate prolonged. (4) The tensile failure dominated at a temperature drop amplitude of 10°C. When the temperature drop was 15°C, the failure mode transitioned from hybrid tension-shear failure to tensile failure as the cycle times increased, whereas the hybrid tension-shear failure dominated with a temperature drop of 20°C. Accumulating evidence has shown that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) released by activated neutrophils are important for initiating and perpetuating synovial inflammation and thereby could be a promising therapeutic target for RA. K/B × N serum transfer-induced arthritis (STIA) is a rapidly developed joint inflammatory model that somehow mimics the inflammatory response in patients with RA. Human gingival-derived mesenchymal stem cells (GMSCs) have been previously shown to possess immunosuppressive effects in arthritis and humanized animal models. However, it is unknown whether GMSCs can manage neutrophils in autoimmune arthritis. To evaluate whether infusion of GMSCs can alleviate RA by regulating neutrophils and NETs formation. If this is so, we will explore the underlying mechanism(s) in an animal model of inflammatory arthritis. The effects of GMSCs on RA were assessed by comparing the symptoms of the K/B × N serum transfer-induced arthritis (STIA) model administered either with GMSCs or with control cells. Phenotypes examined included clinical scores, rear ankle thickness, paw swelling, inflammation, synovial cell proliferation, and immune cell frequency. The regulation of GMSCs on NETs was examined through immunofluorescence and immunoblotting in GMSCs-infused STIA mice and in an in vitro co-culture system of neutrophils with GMSCs. The molecular mechanism(s) by which GMSCs regulate NETs was explored both in vitro and in vivo by silencing experiments. We found in this study that adoptive transfer of GMSCs into STIA mice significantly ameliorated experimental arthritis and reduced neutrophil infiltration and NET formation. In vitro studies also showed that GMSCs inhibited the generation of NETs in neutrophils. Subsequent investigations revealed that GMSCs secreted prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) to activate protein kinase A (PKA), which ultimately inhibited the downstream extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway that is essential for NET formation. Our results demonstrate that infusion of GMSCs can ameliorate inflammatory arthritis mainly by suppressing NET formation via the PGE2-PKA-ERK signaling pathway. These findings further support the notion that the manipulation of GMSCs is a promising stem cell-based therapy for patients with RA and other autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Whether China can achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) largely depends on the ability of main food-producing areas to cope with multiple land use change challenges. Despite the fact that the Yangtze River basin is one of the key regions for China's food security, the spatiotemporal dynamics of cropland abandonment and recultivation remain largely unexplored in this region. The present study assesses the evolution of the agricultural system within the Yangtze River basin between 2000 and 2020 by mapping cropland abandonment and recultivation using MODIS time series and multiple land cover products. The results highlight a widespread cropland abandonment process (i.e., 10.5% of the total study area between 2000 and 2020), predominantly in Western Sichuan, Eastern Yunnan, and Central Jiangxi. Although 70% of abandoned cropland is situated in areas with slopes less than 5°, the highest rates of abandonment are in mountainous regions. However, by 2020, 74% of this abandoned cropland had been recultivated at least once, whereas half of the abandoned croplands got recultivated within three years of their initial abandonment. Hence, as this is one of the first studies that unravels the complex interaction between cropland abandonment and recultivation in a spatiotemporal explicit context, it offers (i) scientists a novel methodological framework to assess agricultural land use issues across large geographical entities, and (ii) policy-makers new insights to support the sustainable transition of the agricultural sector. Global food demand will increase over the next few decades, and sustainable agricultural intensification on current cropland may be a preferred option to meet this demand. Mapping cropping intensity with remote sensing data is of great importance for agricultural production, food security, and agricultural sustainability in the context of global climate change. However, there are some challenges in large-scale cropping intensity mapping. First, existing indicators are too coarse, and fine indicators for measuring cropping intensity are lacking. Second, the regional, intra-class variations detected in time-series remote sensing data across vast areas represent environment-related clusters for each cropping intensity level. However, few existing studies have taken into account the intra-class variations caused by varied crop patterns, crop phenology, and geographical differentiation. In this research, we first presented a new definition, a normalized cropping intensity index (CII), to quantify cropping intensity precisely. We then proposed a Bayesian network model fusing prior knowledge (BNPK) to address the issue of intra-class variations when mapping CII over large areas. This method can fuse regional differentiation factors as prior knowledge into the model to reduce the uncertainty. Experiments on five sample areas covering the main grain-producing areas of mainland China proved the effectiveness of the model. Using solid particles as fuel can reduce costs, and experiments have demonstrated the feasibility of gas-solid two-phase rotating detonation. However, numerical simulation research is required that examines the flow field characteristics of a rotating detonation engine. In order to explore the role of carbon particle fuel in a gas-solid two-phase rotating detonation wave, the weighted essentially non-oscillating scheme and third-order total variation diminishing Runge-Kutta scheme are used to solve the gas-solid unsteady Eulerian–Eulerian equations. Finite rate chemical and surface reaction models are used to simulate the combustion of gaseous substances and carbon particles. The influence of the proportion of carbon particles in the fuel and the diameter of the carbon particles on the rotating detonation flow field characteristics is analyzed. The results indicate that when the size of carbon particles is in the micrometer scale or below, the two-phase rotating detonation waves exhibit double-front or single-front detonation structures, respectively. Introduction: Centranthus kellereri is a Bulgarian endemic plant species, found only in two locations in the world: The Balkans Mountains (Stara Planina), above the town of Vratsa, and The Pirin Mountains, above the town of Bansko, Bulgaria. Being endemic and endangered species precluded any significant research on it. The hypothesis of this study was that the populations of C. kellereri may represent genetically, phytochemically, and morphologically distinct forms and these will differentiate from C. ruber. Furthermore, C. kellereri possibly imperfect embryology may preclude its more widespread distribution under natural conditions. Results: This study revealed the phytochemical profile, antioxidant activity, embryology, surface microstructural morphological traits, and genetic differences between the C. kellereri plants from the only two natural populations and compares them to the ones of the related and better-known plant C. ruber. The essential oil (EO) content in aboveground plant parts and in roots was generally low and the EO composition varied significantly as a function of plant part, year of sampling, location, and species. Methylvaleric acid was a major EO constituent in the C. kellereri EO, ranging between 60.2% and 71.7% of the total EO. The EO included monoterpenes, sequiterpenes, long-chain alkanes and fatty acids. Phytochemical analyses of plant tissue revealed the occurrence of 32 compounds that were tentatively identified as 6 simple phenolics, 18 flavonoids, 1 quinone, 1 lipid, 1 alkaloid, 2 diterpenes, and 3 triterpenes. There were differences in detected compounds between the C. kellereri plants at the two locations and between the roots and shoots in both species. The total phenols and flavonoids varied between the two species but were also dissimilar between the plants from the two populations of C. kelleri. Free radical scavenging activity, measured with ABTS and DPPH in aqueous and methanol extracts, had similar values; however, overall, C. kellereri from Vratsa showed the highest antioxidant activity while C. ruber had the lowest activity. Genetic analyses showed a clear differentiation between C. kellereri and C. ruber, and between the two populations of C. kellereri. Embryological studies revealed the peculiarities of the male and female generative spheres of the two species that were defined as being sexually reproducing. The pollen had high viability; however, the low viability of seeds demonstrated possible high sensitivity of C. kellereri to the environmental conditions, perhaps the main factor modifying and restricting the population sizes. The SEM analyses exposed differences in surface microstructural traits between the species (C. kellereri and C. ruber) but also between the two populations of C. kellereri. The observed dissimilarities in genetic makeup, micromorphological characteristics, and phytochemical composition strongly indicate that the two populations can be classified as distinct subspecies or varieties of C. kellereri; var. pirinensis and var. balkanensis. Further research is needed to introduce C. kellereri into culture and develop it as a high-value specialty crop or ornamental in order to conserve C. kellereri natural populations. C. kellereri may be utilized as a source for phytochemicals of interest and as an ornamental plant like C. ruber; however, it may have a greater environmental plasticity and adaptation as evidenced by its current locations. Background. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a major global health problem. The prevalence of the disease appears to be increasing. There is no curative therapy for IPF except lung transplantation. Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) are showing promise for treatment of IPF. However, their effectiveness and safety are still unclear and deserve further investigation. The aim of this systematic review is to access the efficacy and safety of CHMs in treating IPF. Methods. The protocol of this review is registered at PROSPERO. We searched seven main databases for randomized clinical trials (RCTs) on CHMs for IPF from their inception to June 4, 2018. The methodological quality of RCTs was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. All trials included were analyzed according to the criteria of the Cochrane Handbook. Review Manager 5.3, R-3.5.2 software, and Grade pro GDT web solution were used for data synthesis and analysis. Results. Thirteen randomized clinical trials enrolling 733 patients were included. All trials included had clear outcome indicators. The methodological quality of included trials was generally "poor." Few trials reported methods of randomization. One trial on Xuefu-zhuyu capsule assessed rate of acute exacerbation and mortality after treatment for 72 weeks and found no statistically significant difference between two groups. This meta-analysis demonstrated a significant improvement in QOL of IPF patients when CHMs was applied or combined with conventional medicine treatment. 6MWT was significantly improved in IPF patients after using CHMs or combined with conventional medicine treatment. CHMs treatment also had a certain improvement in TLC and DLCO, but the effect on FVC was not significant. Besides, CHMs failed to provide benefits in terms of PaO2. The reported adverse events were not obvious and severe. Conclusions. Some CHMs seem effective and safe as alternative remedies for patients with IPF, suggesting that further study of CHMs in the treatment of IPF is warranted. Although this systematic review suggests that CHMs may have positive effect on quality of life, 6-minute walk test distance, and lung function (TLC, DLOC%) and seem to be relatively safe during the course of treatment, the results must be treated with great caution because of the methodological flaws of the included trials. Abstract Accurate observations on multiple cropping practices are required to better understand the status and potential of cropland use intensity. However, previous studies largely relied on multiple cropping index (MCI), which only measures the average state for an administrative unit. In this study we use various satellite images to observe the multiple cropping frequency (MCF), in order to know how MCF improves the observation of multiple cropping practices as an alternative of MCI, and how temporal and spatial resolution affect the observation of MCF. We apply the NDVI time-series curve to observe cropland phenology, and subsequently to estimate the MCF by counting the number of peaks. Three MCF maps are developed for the experimental region (Jinxian County, Poyang Lake Plain, South China) in the year 2015 based on MODIS, GF (GF-1/WFV) and GF-MODIS fusion, which represent a character of higher temporal resolution, higher spatial resolution, and higher temporal-spatial resolution, respectively. All these maps have detected multiple cropping patterns, including various single-, double- and triple-cropping pixels: 90.38%, 9.54%, and 0.08% from the MODIS map, 70.32%, 29.27%, and 0.41% from the GF map, and 64.85%, 33.62%, and 1.53% from the GF-MODIS map. The confusion matrix containing 161 field samples shows that the overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient are 62.11% and 0.34, 78.88% and 0.65, and 90.06% and 0.84, for the MODIS, GF, and GF-MODIS maps, respectively. Moreover, the statistics show that the county-level MCI is 1.42, while the aggregated MCI for these maps are 1.10, 1.30, and 1.37, respectively. Our study indicates that the GF-MODIS map not only has highest accuracy but also has a closest estimation on MCI. It implies that higher spatial resolution is the first necessity for mapping the MCF in the landscape fragmented region. Despite heated debates over the safety of genetically modified (GM) food, GM crops have been expanding rapidly. Much research has focused on the expansion of GM crops. However, the spatiotemporal dynamics of non-genetically modified (non-GM) crops are not clear, although they may have significant environmental and agronomic impacts and important policy implications. To understand the dynamics of non-GM crops and to inform the debates among relevant stakeholders, we conducted spatiotemporal analyses of China's major non-GM soybean production region, the Heilongjiang Province. Even though the total soybean planting area decreased from 2005 to 2010, surprisingly, there were hotspots of increase. The results also showed hotspots of loss as well as a large decline in the number and continuity of soybean plots. Cr(VI) is one of the most toxic heavy metals, posing multiple threats to humans and ecosystems. Photoreduction of toxic Cr(VI) to para-toxic Cr(III) is one of the most effective ways to remove heavy metal chromium but is still challenging. Herein, Ti3C2/UiO-66-NH2 composites with different ratio of Ti3C2 were synthesized via an in situ solvothermal process and used for the enhanced photocatalytic removal of Cr(VI) for the first time. The UiO-66-NH2 nanoparticles were dispersed on the surface and slits of accordion-like Ti3C2 homogeneously. A strong interfacial interaction between Ti3C2 and UiO-66-NH2 was formed, which was indicated by the XPS. The Fermi level of the MXene cocatalyst is lower than UiO-66-NH2; thus, Ti3C2 can serve as the electron sink and accumulate photogenerated electrons from UiO-66-NH2 on its surface. A depletion layer was also formed due to the different Fermi levels of UiO-66-NH2 and Ti3C2, which prevents electrons from flowing back to UiO-66-NH. The strong interfacial interaction and formed depletion layer are beneficial for the following charge transfer from UiO-66-NH2 to Ti3C2 after light irradiation and for suppressing the photogenerated charge recombination. With suitable band positions and enhanced charge separation ability, Ti3C2/UiO-66-NH2 composites exhibited better photoreduction efficiency of Cr2O72− than pure Ti3C2 and UiO-66-NH2, with optimized samples reaching 100% in 40 min. The photoreduction kinetics of Cr2O72− by 2-T/U was also studied, with a photoreduction rate of 0.0871 min−1, which is about 2.6 times higher than that of the pure UiO-66-NH. Osteoclasts, bone-specialized multinucleated cells, are responsible for bone destructive diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. Natural plant-derived products have received substantial attention given their potential therapeutic and preventive activities against bone destructive diseases. In the present study, we investigated the effects of total saponin (TS) from Anemone flaccida Fr. Schmidt, on receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL)-induced in vitro osteoclast differentiation. We observed that TS concentration-dependently inhibited RANKL-induced osteoclast formation from RAW 264.7 cell and bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMMs), as well as decreased extent of actin ring formation and lacunar resorption. The RANKL-stimulated expression of osteoclast-related transcription factors were also diminished by TS. Moreover, TS blocked the RANKL-triggered TRAF6 expression, phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and IκB-α, and inhibited NF-κB p65 DNA binding activity. Furthermore, TS almost abrogated the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFATc1) and c-Fos expression. Taken together, our results demonstrated that TS suppresses RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation and inflammatory bone loss via the down-regulation of TRAF6 level, suppression of JNK and p38 MAPKs and NF-κB activation, and subsequent decreased expression of c-Fos and NFATc1. A total of 39 novel cyclotryptamine alkaloid derivatives were prepared from 2-(1H-indol-3-yl) acetonitrile. The prepared compounds were evaluated against six plant pathogen fungi. Bioassay results revealed that most of the compounds displayed higher in vitro antifungal activities than the positive control. Notably, compound b2 displayed the broadest and most effective activity among the tested cyclotryptamine alkaloid derivatives and might be a novel potential leading compound for further development as an antifungal agent. Leaf area index (LAI) and canopy chlorophyll content (CCC) are important indicators that describe the growth status and nitrogen deficiencies of crops. Several studies have been performed to estimate LAI and CCC using multispectral cameras onboard an unmanned airborne vehicle (UAV) system. However, the impacts of illuminations during UAV flight and problems of how to invert still need more investigation. UAV flights with a multispectral camera were performed under clear (diffuse ratio 0) and cloudy illumination conditions (diffuse ratio 1) over rapeseed, wheat and sunflower (only clear) fields. One-dimension radiative transfer model PROSAIL was run twice to generate a clear-sky model and a cloudy-sky model, respectively. The LAI and CCC of flights under a clear sky were inverted from the clear-sky model, and the flights under cloudy conditions were inverted from both clear-sky and cloudy-sky models to compare the results. Moreover, three Look-Up-Tables (LUT) were built with same input variables but different distributions of LAI. Results showed that LAI from uniform dense LUT had better correspondence with ground measurements for all crops (R2 = 0.51~0.69). The illumination condition had little impact on small to medium LAI (LAI < 5) and CCC. However, the inversion of imageries during cloudy sky conditions from the clear-sky model led to an overestimation of high LAI values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

OpenMOC-HEX, a neutron transport calculation code with hexagonal modular ray tracing, has the capability of domain decomposition parallelism based on an MPI parallel programming model. In this paper, the optimization of inter-node communication was studied. Starting from the specific geometric arrangement of hexagonal reactors and the communication features of the Method of Characteristics, the computation and communication of all the hexagonal assemblies are mapped to a graph structure. Then, the METIS library is used for graph partitioning to minimize the inter-node communication under the premise of load balance on each node. Numerical results of an example hexagonal core with 1968 energy groups and 1027 assemblies demonstrate that the communication time is reduced by about 90%, and the MPI parallel efficiency is increased from 82.0% to 91.5%. Tobacco smoke exposure is a major environmental risk factor that facilitates the development and progression of asthma. Our previous study showed that CpG oligodeoxynucleotide (CpG-ODN) inhibits thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP)-dendritic cells (DCs) to reduce Th2/Th17-related inflammatory response in smoke-related asthma. However, the mechanism underlying CpG-ODN -downregulated TSLP remains unclear. A combined house dust mite (HDM)/cigarette smoke extract (CSE) model was used to assess the effects of CpG-ODN on airway inflammation, Th2/Th17 immune response, and amount of IL-33/ST2 and TSLP in mice with smoke-related asthma induced by adoptive transfer of bone-marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) and in the cultured human bronchial epithelium (HBE) cells administered anti-ST2, HDM, and/or CSE. In vivo, compared to the HDM alone model, the combined HDM/CSE model had aggravated inflammatory responses, while CpG-ODN attenuated airway inflammation, airway collagen deposition, and goblet cell hyperplasia and reduced the levels of IL-33/ST2, TSLP, and Th2/Th17-cytokines in the combined model. In vitro, IL-33/ST2 pathway activation promoted TSLP production in HBE cells, which could be inhibited by CpG-ODN. CpG-ODN administration alleviated Th2/Th17 inflammatory response, decreased the infiltration of inflammatory cells into the airway, and improved the remodeling of smoke-related asthma. Agroecosystems benefit from many ecosystem services and are frequently managed to increase productivity. In recent years, agricultural industrialization has caused the loss of some important ecosystem services in agroecosystems, hindering some sustainable development goals (SDGs). In order to promote sustainable agricultural development, it is necessary to restore the damaged agroecosystems and improve agroecosystem services (AES). However, there are relatively few studies on AES, and fewer studies concerning the definition or connotation of AES. Therefore, this paper reviews current AES research, indicators, and assessment methods, as well as directions for future research. AES are determined by agroecosystem functions and human agricultural practices, with both positive and negative effects, scale effects, and trade-offs and synergies between AES. AES indicators can be classified as provisioning services, regulating services, and cultural services, with a few studies including supporting services. Currently, the main AES assessment methods include public participation, empirical model, mechanism model, and value estimation. Multi-source data fusion for integrated models to assess multiple AES will be the future research trend. In addition, AES research should develop additional promising topics, including considering both AES and agroecosystem disservices (AEDS); assessing AES supply, demand, and flow; and analyzing AES trade-offs and synergies comprehensively. This will extend the research field to the links between AES and SDGs and their applications in agricultural landscape planning and governance. Information on crop spatial distribution is essential for agricultural monitoring and food security. Classification with remote-sensing time series images is an effective way to obtain crop distribution maps across time and space. Optimal features are the precondition for crop classification and are critical to the accuracy of crop maps. Although several approaches are available for extracting spectral, temporal, and phenological features for crop identification, these methods depend heavily on domain knowledge and human experiences, adding uncertainty to the final crop classification. This study proposed a novel Genetic Programming (GP) approach to learning high-level features from time series images for crop classification to address this issue. We developed a new representation of GP to extend the GP tree's width and depth to dynamically generate either fixed or flexible informative features without requiring domain knowledge. This new GP approach was wrapped with four classifiers, i.e., K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Decision Tree (DT), Naive Bayes (NB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM), and was then used for crop classification based on MODIS time series data in Heilongjiang Province, China. The performance of the GP features was compared with the traditional features of vegetation indices (VIs) and the advanced feature learning method Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) to show GP effectiveness. The experiments indicated that high-level features learned by GP improved the classification accuracies, and the accuracies were higher than those using VIs and MLP. GP was more robust and stable for diverse classifiers, different feature numbers, and various training sample sets compared with classification using VI features and the classifier MLP. The proposed GP approach automatically selects valuable features from the original data and uses them to construct high-level features simultaneously. The learned features are explainable, unlike those of a black-box deep learning model. This study demonstrated the outstanding performance of GP for feature learning in crop classification. In wired networks, monitor-based network tomography has been proved to be an effective technology for network internal state measurements. Existing wired network tomography approaches assume that the network topology is relatively static. However, the network topology of sensor networks is usually changing over time due to wireless dynamics. In this paper, we study the problem to assign a number of sensor nodes as monitors in large scale sensor networks, so that the end-to-end measurements among monitors can be used to identify hop-by-hop link metrics. We propose RoMA, a Robust Monitor Assignment, algorithm to assign monitors in large scale sensor networks with dynamically changing topology. RoMA includes two components, confidence-based robust topology generation and cost-minimized monitor assignment. We implement RoMA and evaluate its performance based on a deployed large scale sensor network. Purpose: The present study investigated the role of β-hCG in predicting reproductive outcomes and established optimal β-hCG cutoff values in women undergoing cleavage embryo transfer. Methods: The patients were transferred with fresh or frozen-thawed embryos and had serum β-hCG levels tested on the 14th day post-embryo transfer. Serum β-hCG levels were compared between different groups. Different cutoff values of β-hCG were established and used to divide the patients into different groups. Reproductive outcomes between groups based on β-hCG levels were compared. Results: Significant discrepancies in general characteristics were observed in the subgroups. The cutoff values of β-hCG for predicting the presence/absence of pregnancy, biochemical pregnancy/clinical pregnancy, presence/absence of adverse pregnancy outcomes, and singleton/twin live birth in the cleavage groups were 89.6, 241.1, 585.9, and 981.1 mIU/L, respectively. Biochemical pregnancy rates and adverse pregnancy outcome rates significantly decreased from the low β-hCG group to the higher β-hCG group in sequence. Significantly higher full-term live birth rates were observed in the highest β-hCG group (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Serum β-hCG levels were strongly associated with reproductive outcomes. However, the interpretation of β-hCG levels must consider the number and quality of embryos and transfer protocols. When β-hCG was tested on a fixed day post-ET, different cutoff values were required for the prediction of early clinical outcomes. The association between β-hCG and obstetric outcomes must be investigated. Constructing hydroxide precursors with radially oriented primary grains is the key factor for fabricating Ni-rich cathodes with sufficient cycle life. Herein, hydroxide precursors with composition of Ni 0.92 Co 0.04 Mn 0.04 (OH) 2 were synthesized to study the effects of pH and ammonia concentration on the phase, morphology, and orientation of grains, as well as the evolution of primary grains and secondary particles during industrial-scale continuous precipitation process. Results show that the preferential growth of primary grains varies significantly with change of pH, ammonia concentration and the growth of secondary particles. Meanwhile, the variation of grain size along direction parallel to [001] is more obvious than that perpendicular to [001] after decreasing pH or increasing ammonia concentration. Moreover, the size distribution of secondary particle varies with the increase of feeding time or the change of reaction condition in a regular manner. Although a steady state could be reached for continuous precipitation, the different residence times endow the size of secondary particles with normal distribution. The results disclosed in this work may provide a guiding significance for designing precipitation procedure for hydroxide precursor of high-end Ni-rich cathodes. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that deteriorates cognitive function. Patients with AD generally exhibit neuroinflammation, elevated beta-amyloid (Aβ), tau phosphorylation (p-tau), and other pathological changes in the brain. The kynurenine pathway (KP) and several of its metabolites, especially quinolinic acid (QA), are considered to be involved in the neuropathogenesis of AD. The important metabolites and key enzymes show significant importance in neuroinflammation and AD. Meanwhile, the discovery of changed levels of KP metabolites in patients with AD suggests that KP metabolites may have a prominent role in the pathogenesis of AD. Further, some KP metabolites exhibit other effects on the brain, such as oxidative stress regulation and neurotoxicity. Both analogs of the neuroprotective and antineuroinflammation metabolites and small molecule enzyme inhibitors preventing the formation of neurotoxic and neuroinflammation compounds may have potential therapeutic significance. This review focused on the KP metabolites through the relationship of neuroinflammation in AD, significant KP metabolites, and associated molecular mechanisms as well as the utility of these metabolites as biomarkers and therapeutic targets for AD. Effective control of magnetic anisotropy is important for developing spintronic devices. In this work, we performed a case study of stacking periods (N)-mediated reorientation of lateral magnetic anisotropy in ultrathin La0.67Ca0.33MnO3/SrRuO3 superlattices. As N increases from 1 to 15, the magnetic easy-axis switches from the orthorhombic [010] to [100]-axis. The maximum anisotropy constant of the superlattice (SL) (N = 15) reaches −1.83 × 105 erg/cm3. X-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray linear dichroism further suggest that the observed changes in lateral magnetic anisotropy are driven by in-plane orbital polarization. For SLs with small N, anisotropic strain-induced orbital polarization along the b-axis can result in the [010]-oriented magnetic easy axis. For SLs with large N, the dimension crossover from 2-dimension to 3-dimension could enhance the hybridization of Ru t2g and Mn d x 2 − y 2 orbitals, which can compete with the strain effect and switch the magnetic easy axis to [100]. Our results suggest a potential strategy for engineering magnetic anisotropy through the cooperation of strain engineering and interfacial orbital engineering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
