The rapid dissemination of misinformation has become one of the most pressing issues of the modern world, as social media platforms enable misinformation to be spread incredibly quickly and unpredictably. To combat the misinformation epidemic, many misinformation models have been developed to simulate and study the spread of misinformation so that it may be understood and mitigated more effectively. While many survey papers review misinformation holistically, there is a gap in the literature for a survey of models in particular, mainly because the field is still relatively young. To overcome this gap, we compile a dataset of 28 papers, each using its model to study misinformation. In reviewing trends amongst these models, we find that a. there is a shortage of papers that evaluate countermeasures against misinformation or take their influence into account, and b. platforms other than Twitter/X are underused as sources for model validation data, considering their real-world importance. Medieval paper, a handmade product, is made with a mould which leaves an indelible imprint on the sheet of paper. This imprint includes chain lines, laid lines and watermarks which are often visible on the sheet. Extracting these features allows the identification of the paper stock and gives information about the chronology, localisation and movement of manuscripts and people. Most computational work for feature extraction of paper analysis has so far focused on radiography or transmitted light images. While these imaging methods provide clear visualisation of the features of interest, they are expensive and time consuming in their acquisition and not feasible for smaller institutions. However, reflected light images of medieval paper manuscripts are abundant and possibly cheaper in their acquisition. In this paper, we propose algorithms to detect and extract the laid and chain lines from reflected light images. We tackle the main drawback of reflected light images, that is, the low contrast attenuation of chain and laid lines and intensity jumps due to noise and degradation, by employing the spectral total variation decomposition and develop methods for subsequent chain and laid line extraction. Our results clearly demonstrate the feasibility of using reflected light images in paper analysis. This work enables feature extraction for paper manuscripts that have otherwise not been analysed due to a lack of appropriate images. We also open the door for paper stock identification at scale. In 3D building models, a large number of texture maps with different sizes increase the number of model data loading and drawing batches, which greatly reduces the drawing efficiency of the model. Therefore, this paper proposes a texture set mapping method based on vertex importance. Firstly, based on the 2D space boxing algorithm, the texture maps are merged and a series of Mipmap texture maps are generated, and then the vertex curvature, texture variability and location information of each vertex are calculated, normalized, and weighted to get the importance of each vertex, and then finally, different Mipmap-level textures are remapped according to the importance of the vertices. The experiment proves that the algorithm in this paper can reduce the amount of texture data on the one hand, and avoid the rendering pressure brought by the still large amount of data after merging on the other hand, so as to improve the rendering efficiency of the model. Version 1.1 of the editorial of Geoscientific Model Development (GMD), published in 2015 , introduced clarifications to the policy on publication of source code and input data for papers published in the journal. Three years of working with this policy has revealed that it is necessary to be more precise in the requirements of the policy and in the narrowness of its exceptions. Furthermore, the previous policy was not specific in the requirements for suitable archival locations. Best practice in code and data archiving continues to develop and is far from universal among scientists. This has resulted in many manuscripts requiring improvement in code and data availability practice during the peer-review process. New researchers continually start their professional lives, and it remains the case that not all authors fully appreciate why code and data publication is necessary. This editorial provides an opportunity to explain this in the context of GMD. The changes in the code and data policy are summarised as follows: The requirement for authors to publish source code, unless this is impossible for reasons beyond their control, is clarified. The minimum requirements are strengthened such that all model code must be made accessible during the review process to the editor and to potentially anonymous reviewers. Source code that can be made public must be made public, and embargoes are not permitted. Identical requirements exist for input data and model evaluation data sets in the model experiment descriptions. The scope of the code and data required to be published is described. In accordance with Copernicus' own data policy, we now specifically strongly encourage all code and data used in any analyses be made available. This will have particular relevance for some model evaluation papers where editors may now strongly request this material be made available. The requirements of suitable archival locations are specified, along with the recommendation that Zenodo is often a good choice. With the connection and integration of renewable energy, the on-load tap-changer (OLTC) has become an important device for regulating voltage in distribution networks. However, due to non-smooth and non-linear characteristics of OLTC, traditional bad data identification and state estimation methods for transmission network are limited when applied to the distribution network. Therefore, the nonlinearity and droop control constraints of the OLTC model are considered in this paper. At the same time, the quadratic penalty function is introduced to realize the fast normalization of the tap position. It proposes a two-stage bad data identification method based on mixed-integer linear programming. In the first stage, suspicious measurements are identified using projection statistics and maximum normalized residual methods for preprocessing the measurement data. In the second stage, a linearization approach utilizing hyhrid data-physical driven is applied to handle nonlinear constraints, leading to the development of a bad data identification model based on mixed-integer linear programming. Finally, the proposed methodology is validated using a modified IEEE-33 node test feeder example, demonstrating the accuracy and efficiency of bad data identification. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Although deep learning (DL) algorithms have been proved to be effective in diverse research domains, their application in developing models for tabular data remains limited. Models trained on tabular data demonstrate higher efficacy using traditional machine learning models than DL models, which are largely attributed to the size and structure of tabular datasets and the specific application contexts in which they are utilized. Thus, the primary objective of this paper is to propose a method to use the supremacy of Stacked Bidirectional LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) deep learning algorithms in pattern discovery incorporating tabular data with customized 3D tensor modeling in feeding neural networks. Our findings are empirically validated using six diverse, publicly available datasets each varying in size and learning objectives. This paper proves that the proposed model based on time-sequence DL algorithms, which were generally described as inadequate when dealing with tabular data, yields satisfactory results and competes effectively with other algorithms specifically designed for tabular data. An additional benefit of this approach is its ability to preserve simplicity while ensuring fast model training also with large datasets. The observed dynamics of infectious diseases are driven by processes across multiple scales. Here we focus on two: within-host, that is, how an infection progresses inside a single individual (for instance viral and immune dynamics), and between-host, that is, how the infection is transmitted between multiple individuals of a host population. The dynamics of each of these may be influenced by the other, particularly across evolutionary time. Thus understanding each of these scales, and the links between them, is necessary for a holistic understanding of the spread of infectious diseases. One approach to combining these scales is through mathematical modeling. We conducted a systematic review of the published literature on multi-scale mathematical models of disease transmission (as defined by combining within-host and between-host scales) to determine the extent to which mathematical models are being used to understand across-scale transmission, and the extent to which these models are being confronted with data. Following the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews, we identified 24 of 197 qualifying papers across 30 years that include both linked models at the within and between host scales and that used data to parameterize/calibrate models. We find that the approach that incorporates both modeling with data is under-utilized, if increasing. This highlights the need for better communication and collaboration between modelers and empiricists to build well-calibrated models that both improve understanding and may be used for prediction. Aiming at the problems of islands, redundancy and sharing difficulties of spatial and temporal business models and data in geospatial and spatial business systems, this paper proposes an integrated and coupled expression method of models and data guided by metadata sets, based on the research on core metadata of information resources and component-based encapsulation. First of all, this method classifies the model and data features, and constructs the metadata description and expression framework dominated by feature meta-components; then, establishes metadata sets through the expansion of the metadata description and expression framework; then, constructs the correlation between the model and the data through the use of the established metadata sets by means of the component-based encapsulation method, so as to complete the integrated coupling of the model and the data; and finally, realises the integrated coupling expression of the model and the data in the digital pipeline business system. The results show that this method integrates the expression of digital pipeline element models and data, solves the problems of silos, redundancy and conflicts of heterogeneous models and data from multiple sources, ensures the integrity of the attributes of the models and data elements, and promotes the structured expression and application of the models and data. In view of the low identification accuracy of the crack-detection technology of asphalt pavement under the current conditions of complex pavement (subject to strong light, water on the road, debris, and so on), an asphalt pavement crack-detection algorithm based on improved YOLOv5s was proposed by building the data set for asphalt pavement cracks. The first step was to make the following improvements to the original YOLOv5s model according to the characteristics of the asphalt pavement crack data set: The k -means++ algorithm was used to recluster the anchor points of the crack data set, and the initial anchor frame matching the crack characteristics of the asphalt pavement was obtained to replace the default initial anchor frame in the YOLOv5 original model. In the prediction part of the original model, the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) was added in the order of first channel and then space to improve the detection ability of the model to small cracks. The CIoU_Loss function was used as the regression loss function of the model to replace the GIoU_Loss function in the original model to improve the positioning accuracy of the anchor frame. The second step was to perform an ablation experiment on the improved YOLOv5s model. This would prove that each improvement scheme could increase detection ability without conflict. The final step was to compare the improved YOLOv5s model with various classic target detection models in the data set of this paper: the Crack Forest Data set (CFD), the Crack500 data set, and the Crack200 data set. The results showed that the detection of the improved YOLOv5s model on each data set was better than other target detection models. The mAP@0.5 and mAP@[0.5:0.95] of this model on the data set of this paper were 90.58% and 56.08%, respectively, which were much higher than other target detection models. These findings indicate that the improved YOLOv5s model had better detection under complex pavement conditions and could provide a theoretical basis for the automatic detection of asphalt pavement cracks. Most Penman-Monteith-Leuning (PML) evapotranspiration (ET) modeling studies are dominated by consideration of meteorological, energy, and land use information, etc., but the dynamic coupling of soil moisture content (SM), especially in terms of improving accuracy through assimilation, lacks sufficient attention. This paper proposes a research framework for the dynamic coupling simulation of PML model and SM based on data assimilation, i.e., the remote sensing monitored SM is combined with soil evaporation of PML to obtain high-precision time-continuous SM data through data assimilation; simultaneously, dynamical soil evaporation coefficients are generated based on the assimilated SM to improve the simulation accuracy of the PML model. The new scheme was validated at a typical irrigation zone in north China and showed obvious improvements in both SM and ET simulations. Moreover, the effect of the assimilation of SM on the simulation accuracy of ET for different crop growth periods is further analyzed. In this Perspective paper we explore the potential of integrating radiological imaging with other data types, a critical yet underdeveloped area in comparison to the fusion of other multi-omic data. Radiological images provide a comprehensive, three-dimensional view of cancer, capturing features that would be missed by biopsies or other data modalities. This paper explores the complexities and challenges of incorporating medical imaging into data integration models, in the context of precision oncology. We present the different categories of imaging-omics integration and discuss recent progress, highlighting the opportunities that arise from bringing together spatial data on different scales. This paper proposes a profit maximization model for a data consumer when it buys personal data from data providers (by obtaining consent) through data brokers and provides their new services to data providers (i.e., service consumers). To observe the behavioral models of data providers, the data consumer, and service consumers, this paper proposes the willingness-to-sell model of personal data of data providers (which is affected by data providers' behavior related to explicit consent), the service quality model obtained by the collected personal data from the data consumer's perspective, and the willingness-to-pay model of service consumers regarding provided new services from the data consumer. Particularly, this paper jointly considers the behavior of data providers and service users under a limited budget. The study attempts to analyze research publications of Central University of Gujarat (CUG) during the period of 2010 - 2020. The bibliographic data for this study was extracted from the Scopus database. This paper analyses 771 research papers published by Central University of Gujarat during the period under the study. The study examine the year-wise research publications, authorship pattern, degree of collaboration, types of document, preferred journals for publication, prolific author, h-index, most collaborating institutions and countries etc. Additionally, in this research paper different software used e.g. 'MS-Excel', 'bibliometrix' & 'biblioshiny' of R-Package, VOSviwer applied for the analysis and data visualizations. The research findings indicate that the growth of literature pattern is linear, and journals articles (561) are the most preferred form of publications by the researchers to communicate their research. Degree of Collaboration (DC) 0.728 indicates that the most research work jointly carried out by research scholars of Central University of Gujarat (CUG). Singh M. is found to be the most prolific author and the Journal of Molecular Liquids is the most preferred Journal. The top 10 most cited publications were used from that only one paper was two-authored and received highest 439 citations found and other 9 research papers were shown multiple-authored. In Jawaharlal Nehru University (60) and Banasthali Vidyapith (39) were the leading collaborating Institutions. The USA, Australia, South Africa, UK, and Canada were the top five most collaborative countries. The subject Chemistry was most prominent research area during the study period. This paper presents a data-driven model-free adaptive containment control (MFACC) scheme for uncertain rehabilitation exoskeleton robots, where the robotic exoskeleton dynamics are uncertain with saturation constraints. To handle uncertainties of the robotic dynamics, a model-free adaptive control (MFAC) strategy is established by linearizing the robotic exoskeleton dynamics into an equivalent data model. Considering the integral additive effect of the traditional MFAC method, an improved MFAC controller is designed in this paper. Since actuators with saturation constraints constantly affect the safety of patients during rehabilitation training, we construct a new criterion function with active constraints for the critical function of the MFAC algorithm and adopt the Hildreth quadratic programming algorithm to find the constrained optimal solution to overcome this limitation. The proposed MFACC scheme is rigorously proven by the compression mapping method to demonstrate model-free stability. Human mobility, encompassing the movement of individuals and/or groups across space and time, significantly impacts various aspects of society, with intra-urban mobility being a major research focus of scholars in diverse disciplines. Bike-sharing systems have become an alternatives in cities for achieving more sustainable transportation. Hence, bike-sharing-related data are considered an important data source to study intra-urban human mobility. To better understand human mobility in cities, it is essential to characterize the typical patterns involved in intra-urban human mobility. This paper mainly focuses on characterizing the temporal patterns of intra-urban human mobility on bike-sharing based on the trip information of the acquired bike-sharing data. To achieve this, on the one hand, we adopted an exploratory data analysis (EDA) method to describe the temporal patterns by performing exploratory analyses of bike-sharing trips. On the other hand, we used the continuous triangular model (CTM) to conduct multi-temporal-scale analysis of bike-sharing trips for further explorations of the temporal patterns where necessary. The data of bike-sharing trips in Shanghai, China, were adopted as the dataset for the case study. Generally, the study was conducted at two different levels: the trip level and the bike level. Specifically, at each level, the explorations were conducted from varying perspectives. According to the analyses, numerous meaningful temporal patterns were discovered, and several distinctive findings were acquired. The results of this study show the effectiveness of the EDA and CTM methods in characterizing temporal patterns of intra-urban human mobility, based on which potentially insightful information and suggestions can be provided to assist related actions. Traditional machine learning-based entity extraction methods rely heavily on feature engineering by experts, and the generalization ability of the model is poor. Prototype networks, on the other hand, can effectively use a small amount of labeled data to train models while using category prototypes to enhance the generalization ability of the models. Therefore, this paper proposes a prototype network-based named entity recognition (NER) method, namely the FSPN-NER model, to solve the problem of difficult recognition of sensitive data in data-sparse text. The model utilizes the positional coding model (PCM) to pre-train the data and perform feature extraction, then computes the prototype vectors to achieve entity matching, and finally introduces a boundary detection module to enhance the performance of the prototype network in the named entity recognition task. The model in this paper is compared with LSTM, BiLSTM, CRF, Transformer and their combination models, and the experimental results on the test dataset show that the model outperforms the comparative models with an accuracy of 84.8%, a recall of 85.8% and an F1 value of 0.853. Streaming Linked Data represents a domain within the Semantic Web dedicated to incorporating Stream Reasoning capabilities into the Semantic Web stack to address dynamic data challenges. Such applied endeavours typically necessitate a robust data modelling process. To this end, RDF Stream Processing (RSP) engines frequently utilize OWL 2 ontologies to facilitate this requirement. Despite the rich body of research on Knowledge Representation (KR), even concerning time-sensitive data, a notable gap exists in the literature regarding a comprehensive survey on KR techniques tailored for Streaming Linked Data. This paper critically overviews the key ontologies employed in RSP applications, evaluating their data modelling and KR abilities specifically for Streaming Linked Data contexts. We analyze these ontologies through three distinct KR perspectives: the conceptualization of streams as Web resources, the structural organization of data streams, and the event modelling within the streams. Deng's grey relational analysis (GRA) model is widely used in clustering because of its simple mathematical mechanisms. For sample data of different dimensions, people have put forward different Deng's GRA models, including time series data, panel data, and panel time series data. The purpose of this paper is to improve the clustering accuracy of the existing Deng's GRA model for panel data in order to overcome some of its shortcomings. Firstly, the existing Deng's GRA model for panel data was tested based on the dataset LP1 of Robot Execution Failures. Then, according to the test results, the existing Deng's GRA model for panel data is modified by means of Taylor's formula, and the modified model is successfully validated by the dataset LP1 of Robot Execution Failures. Finally, as a practical application, the modified Deng's GRA model for panel data is applied to assess the water environment of Poyang Lake over the past five years. Compared with other cluster methods, the results of the case study show that the modified Deng's GRA model for panel data is applicable and also confirm the remarkable effectiveness of the Chinese government's water quality regulation in Poyang Lake. Therefore, the modified Deng's GRA model presented in this paper improves the clustering accuracy compared to the original model and can be applied well to the classification of data with a large dimension. In this paper, we study the Greek wiretappings scandal, which was revealed in 2022 and attracted significant attention from the press and citizens. Specifically, we propose a methodology for collecting data and analyzing patterns of online public discussions on Twitter. We apply our methodology to the Greek wiretappings use case and present findings related to the evolution of the discussion over time, its polarization, and the role of the Media. In order to study the dynamic performance of rail-track turnout more widely and deeply, this paper established a 3D refined model of turnout and calculated the condensation characteristics of rail-track through the application of harmonic load sweep frequency analysis. The relevant calculation results are verified by field experiments. It was found that the rail pin-pinned resonance mode in the stock rail and switch rail close position, and jacking block and heel block would be suppressed. The change of switch rail profile caused gradual variation of switch rail admittance characteristic, which showed as the low-frequency original point admittance gradually decreases in the frequency-spatial distribution. The special fastener system of guardrail has limited lateral constraint on the guide rail, resulting in the lateral pin-pinned resonance mode of the guide rail not being significantly observed in the measured results. At the same time, the variation of the vertical bending first-order frequency of the rail was analyzed to analyze the change of the vertical support stiffness in the switch zone. The reliability and shortage of the three-dimensional (3D) track model in the switch zone were also analyzed by comparing the experimental data with the model calculation results. Simple Summary: This paper argues the importance of considering domain knowledge when dealing with missing data in healthcare. We identify fundamental missingness scenarios in healthcare facilities and show how they impact the missing data analysis methods. Despite the extensive literature on missing data theory and cautionary articles emphasizing the importance of realistic analysis for healthcare data, a critical gap persists in incorporating domain knowledge into the missing data methods. In this paper, we argue that the remedy is to identify the key scenarios that lead to data missingness and investigate their theoretical implications. Based on this proposal, we first introduce an analysis framework where we investigate how different observation agents, such as physicians, influence the data availability and then scrutinize each scenario with respect to the steps in the missing data analysis. We apply this framework to the case study of observational data in healthcare facilities. We identify ten fundamental missingness scenarios and show how they influence the identification step for missing data graphical models, inverse probability weighting estimation, and exponential tilting sensitivity analysis. To emphasize how domain-informed analysis can improve method reliability, we conduct simulation studies under the influence of various missingness scenarios. We compare the results of three common methods in medical data analysis: complete-case analysis, Missforest imputation, and inverse probability weighting estimation. The experiments are conducted for two objectives: variable mean estimation and classification accuracy. We advocate for our analysis approach as a reference for the observational health data analysis. One of the major challenges that existing spatial data is facing is the fragmentation of its representation of indoor and outdoor space. As studies in the use of omnidirectional images in representing space and providing Location-based Services (LBS) has been increasing, the representation of the different scales of space, both in indoors and outdoors, has yet to be addressed. This study aims to develop a data model for generating a multi-scale image-based representation of space using omnidirectional images based spatial relationships. This paper identifies the different scales of space that are represented in spatial data and extends previous approaches of using omnidirectional images in providing indoor LBS towards representing the other scales of space, particularly in outdoor space. Using a sample data, we present an experimental implementation to demonstrate the potential of the proposed data model. Results show that apart from the realistic visualization that image data provides, basic spatial functions can be performed on the image data constructed based on the proposed data model. Introduction: Behaviourally informed soft policies, such as nudges, have become popular in areas like health, environment, and energy use as cost-effective instruments to change behaviour and decision-making. However, the effectiveness of soft policies in the transport sector is modest at best. One reason for this relative ineffectiveness might be their one-size-fits-all nature, and personalizing soft interventions has been suggested to increase their effectiveness. The Trans-theoretical Model (TTM) suggests that people progress through five stages of behavioural change, from pre-contemplating a behaviour to maintaining the behaviour, and behavioural interventions could be designed for specific stages. However, it is not always feasible to conduct surveys to place people at different stages of the TTM. Methods: This paper explores whether it is possible to use multimodality data taken from a travel diary to place people at different stages of the TTM. The analysis uses an existing dataset from 826 respondents that includes self-reported TTM stages regarding cycling and data on multimodality. In the analysis, the multimodality data are used to allocate respondents to categories and assign them to TTM stages. The performances of the stage assignment approaches are evaluated using the self-reported TTM data and confusion matrices. Findings: The accuracy of the allocation of participants to TTM stages using multimodality data is approximately 75%. The accuracy is higher for early stages (pre-contemplation) and later stages (maintenance) of the TTM. A data-driven approach to dealing with multimodality data performs slightly better than an approach that relies on pre-defined categorization. Conclusion: The paper suggests that it will be possible in the future to personalise behavioural interventions according to the stages of the TTM even in the absence of self-reported survey data that classifies people to TTM stages if objective multimodality data are available. Providing information to emergency responders and citizens is one of the most critical aspects during bushfire events. In many cases ground-based infrastructure might be malfunctioning or destroyed and satellite communication might appear the only option. This paper concentrates on the use of the QZSS satellites to provide short messages early warning. The paper provides a preliminary overview of the initial investigations, development and testing of an emergency management system for preparedness and response to extreme bushfire events in Australia. This paper employs the instrumental variable method and the intermediary model to explore the influence of monocentric and polycentric spatial structures of innovation agglomeration on energy efficiency. This paper uses data from 2010 to 2021 in China, and also panel data regression models were used. The findings indicate that the monocentric spatial structure of provincial system innovation agglomeration is primarily concentrated in northeastern and western regions of China, whereas the polycentric spatial structure is mainly distributed in eastern coastal areas. A monocentric spatial structure inhibits the enhancement of energy efficiency, but there is an environmental paradox of excessive resource agglomeration. In contrast, a polycentric spatial structure and its strengthening tendency facilitate the improvement of energy efficiency. A monocentric spatial structure has an inhibitory impact on the improvement of energy efficiency in the three sectors of agriculture, industry, and construction, while a polycentric spatial structure aids it. A monocentric spatial structure further hinders the improvement of energy efficiency by impeding the upgrading of the industrial structure, while the upgrading of the industrial structure driven by the polycentric spatial structure plays a role in enhancing energy efficiency. The policy recommendations of this paper are intended to help coordinate the pace of innovation development between cities, adjust the spatial structure of innovation agglomeration between regions, and promote the upgrading of the comprehensive industrial structure, thereby improving overall energy efficiency. Understanding electrical load profiles and detecting anomaly behaviors are important to the smart grid system. However, current load identification and anomaly analysis are based on static analysis, and less consideration is given to anomaly findings under load change conditions. This paper proposes a deep variational autoencoder network (DVAE) for load profiles, along with anomaly analysis services, and introduces auto-time series data updating strategies based on sliding window adjustment. DVAE can help reconstruct the load curve and measure the difference between the original and the newer curve, whose measurement indicators include reconstruction probability and Pearson similarity. Meanwhile, the design of the sliding window strategy updates the data and DVAE model in a time-series manner. Experiments were carried out based on datasets from the U.S. Department of Energy and from Southeast China. The results showed that the proposed services could result in a 5% improvement in the AUC value, which helps to identify the anomaly behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a methodology for fault detection and isolation (FDI) in transient conditions using a multiway principal component analysis (MPCA) approach where practical data have been augmented with simulated data to conduct FDI when there are insufficient practical data. The motivation for using a heated two-tank system is due to the fact that it resembles a basic process in terms of controllable variables, noise, disturbances, and changes in operating points. Normal and faulty condition data of the practical heated two-tank system as well as a Simulink® model of the heated two-tank system were used. The MPCA technique has enhanced ability to detect and isolate faults in transient conditions compared to classic principal component analysis (PCA). MPCA, however, requires a vast amount of normal process transient conditions data to train the model to then enable meaningful fault detection and isolation. In this study, the practical normal transient conditions data are augmented with simulated normal transient conditions data to meet the requirement of a large amount of data. Utilising different datasets for the training of the MPCA model, the fault detection and isolation performance was evaluated with various metrics.
