This paper presents a hybrid simplified grey wolf optimization algorithm combining with an modified pigeon inspired optimization algorithm. Firstly, a method of population initialization in the restricted area is designed to improve the average fitness of individuals. Then, a decay factor is designed to improve the search accuracy. At the same time, a new search position update formula is designed to balance the global search and local search ability, so as to improve the convergence speed of the algorithm. Furthermore, in order to verify the performance, the convergence, complexity and accuracy of the algorithm are analyzed by using linear difference equations. Finally, the comparison between different meta-heuristic optimization algorithms, the influence of parameters and their application in the path planning of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are tested. Subspace outlier detection has emerged as a practical approach for outlier detection. Classical full space outlier detection methods become ineffective in high dimensional data due to the "curse of dimensionality". Subspace outlier detection methods have great potential to overcome the problem. However, the challenge becomes how to determine which subspaces to be used for outlier detection among a huge number of all subspaces. In this paper, firstly, we propose an intuitive definition of outliers in subspaces. We study the desirable properties of subspaces for outlier detection and investigate the metrics for those properties. Then, a novel subspace outlier detection algorithm with a statistical foundation is proposed. Our method selectively leverages a limited set of the most interesting subspaces for outlier detection. Through experimental validation, we demonstrate that identifying outliers within this reduced set of highly interesting subspaces yields significantly higher accuracy compared to analyzing the entire feature space. This paper presents an enhanced algorithm for inertial gyrocompassing using strapdown sensors, which performs faster than the other available ones. The proposed algorithm is based on differential errors in an inertial navigation system and requires only the output of the inertial measurement unit while extracting and compensating for the inertial sensor errors. After eliminating the error of the inertial sensors, which is accomplished swiftly, the coarse alignment algorithm performs with error-compensated sensors, and the true north is extracted accurately. The number of non-observable parameters of the algorithm is equal to that of the fine alignment algorithm; therefore, its accuracy is the same as that of a well-tuned fine alignment. Numerical simulations and lab experiments demonstrate that the proposed method performs heading estimation in the time required to perform the coarse alignment, which is faster than the existing fine alignment algorithms. This paper proposes a video security transmission enhancement algorithm based on block permutation and dynamic multiplexing sequences encryption based on 4D autonomous hyperchaotic system. Firstly, we employ the block permutation encryption and diffusion confusion encryption module, which is based on dynamic multiplexing chaotic sequences, to encrypt the plaintext and obtain the ciphertext. Subsequently, the hash value of this round's ciphertext is utilized to generate the chaotic key, produced by the multiplexing sequence of this round after mathematical processing. Then, the key is used to generate the chaotic sequence to confuse the N-th of the multiplexed sequence, and the next round of multiplexed sequence is obtained. If the current round of chaotic sequence has been completely confused, the chaotic sequence is re-generated to generate a new multiplex sequence by using the key generated by the current round key and the initial key. Finally, the above steps are repeated for the encryption of each frame of the video. Compared with the traditional permutation coding algorithm, it increases the difficulty of estimation or recognition while ensuring efficiency, and effectively improves the avalanche effect of the algorithm. Through frame by frame ciphertext closed-loop feedback, it has the ability to resist known plaintext attack and selected plaintext attack. In this paper, an improved Beetle Antenna Search (BAS) algorithm is developed for Maximal Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in a double-stage three-phase solar grid-integrated system. The behavior of the beetle foraging approach yields maximal power from photovoltaic string with the sustained duty cycle through an optimal BAS MPPT controller. The BAS algorithm succeeds in the purpose of achieving the optimum duty cycle of the DC–DC boost converter for the Solar Photovoltaic System. The intended controller is achieved in step and ramp varying irradiation environment at the specified temperature. The outcome of BAS MPPT has maximal power and better tracking speed with less fluctuation than the P&O controller. Also, the BAS algorithm affords the effortless function of load stabilizing and harmonics decrement in grid performance. The proposed controller has better improvement than the conventional algorithm by reducing training data time, decreasing the sample size, and retaining the selected permissive data. Simulation illustrations prove the quick response time, and acceptable behavior in step and ramp irradiation conditions. Further, an illustration shows the ability to enhance the stability of power in the grid with reduced oscillation and distortion factors. The harmonic distortion of voltage and current is obtained within the control limit of universal standards. The simulated results are validated in MATLAB/Simulink environments. To solve the noise reduction failure of the filter-x least mean squares (FxLMS) algorithm in the impulsive noise environment, the filter-x tanh LMS (FXtanhLMS) algorithm is proposed in this paper. The algorithm enhances the robustness by introducing an adjustable nonlinear hyperbolic tangent function. The hyperbolic tangent function is used to compress the residual signal. It can solve the problem that the impulsive noise does not have a bounded second-order moment. Compared to the fixed compression function, the automatically adjustable compression function can balance the convergence speed and the robustness of the algorithm under different intensities of impulsive noises. It allows the algorithm to have a slow change in the adaptive steady stage. In addition, the normalized filtered-x tanh LMS (NFXtanhLMS) algorithm is proposed to improve the performance in heavy spike impulsive noise by combining the FXtanhLMS algorithm with the normalized step-size. The proposed algorithms do not require complex threshold estimation compared to existing algorithms. The quad-cube is a special case of the metacube that itself is derivable from the hypercube. It is amenable to an application as a network topology, especially when the node size exceeds several million. This paper presents the following welcome properties of the graph, relating to its structure: (1) vertex transitivity that facilitates the working of an algorithm meant for a "local" context in the global context as well, and (2) an exact formula for the distance metric, which leads to a precise result on the distance-wise vertex distribution of the graph and an exact formula for the average vertex distance. Remarkably, the vertex distribution of the quad-cube resembles, to a large extent, the vertex distribution of the twin copies of a hypercube. Dense vertex-to-vertex correspondence (i.e. registration) between 3D faces is a fundamental and challenging issue for 3D &2D face analysis. While the sparse landmarks are definite with anatomically ground-truth correspondence, the dense vertex correspondences on most facial regions are unknown. In this view, the current methods commonly result in reasonable but diverse solutions, which deviate from the optimum to the dense registration problem. In this paper, we revisit dense registration by a dimension-degraded problem, i.e. proportional segmentation of a line, and employ an iterative dividing and diffusing method to reach an optimum solution that is robust to different initializations. We formulate a local registration problem for dividing and a linear least-square problem for diffusing, with constraints on fixed features on a 3D facial surface. We further propose a multi-resolution algorithm to accelerate the computational process. The proposed method is linked to a novel local scaling metric, where we illustrate the physical significance as smooth adaptions for local cells of 3D facial shapes. Extensive experiments on public datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in various aspects. Generally, the proposed method leads to not only significantly better representations of 3D facial data, but also coherent local deformations with elegant grid architecture for fine-grained registrations. Continued fractions have been introduced in the field of p-adic numbers Q p by several authors. However, a standard definition is still missing since all the proposed algorithms are not able to replicate all the properties of continued fractions in R . In particular, an analogue of the Lagrange's Theorem is not yet proved for any attempt of generalizing continued fractions in Q p . Thus, it is worth to study the definition of new algorithms for p-adic continued fractions. The main condition that a new method needs to fulfill is the convergence in Q p of the continued fractions. In this paper we study some convergence conditions for continued fractions in Q p . These results allow to define many new families of continued fractions whose convergence is guaranteed. Then we provide some new algorithms exploiting the new convergence condition and we prove that one of them terminates in a finite number of steps when the input is rational, as it happens for real continued fractions. In response to the problem that it is easy to fall into local optimum when using the traditional clustering algorithm to divide the modules, this paper improves the initialisation strategy of the NSGA2 algorithm and combines it with the FCM algorithm to propose an improved NSGA2-FCM algorithm for clustering analysis. Firstly, the FBS mapping is used to model the functional structure of the product system and identify the relationship between the product functional structures. Secondly, a correlation synthesis matrix is constructed based on the relationships between the module division drivers. Finally, the improved NSGA2-FCM algorithm is applied to cluster analysis of the product to derive the best module division scheme. The algorithm avoids falling into local optima by optimising the initialisation strategy of the NSGA2 algorithm, while using the FCM algorithm to improve the accuracy of the clustering. This allows the algorithm to explore the solution space more effectively when finding the best module partitioning solution. There is a trend to deploy neural network on edge devices in recent years. While the mainstream of research often concerns with single edge device processing and edge-cloud two-layer neural network collaborative computing, in this paper, we propose partitioning multi-layer edge network for neural network collaborative computing. With the proposed method, sub-models of neural network are deployed on multi-layer edge devices along the communication path from end users to cloud. Firstly, we propose an optimal path selection method to form a neural network collaborative computing path with lowest communication overhead. Secondly, we establish a time-delay optimization mathematical model to evaluate the effects of different partitioning solutions. To find the optimal partition solution, an ordered elitist genetic algorithm (OEGA) is proposed. The experimental results show that, compared with traditional cloud computing, single-device edge computing and edge-cloud collaborative computing, the proposed multi-layer edge network collaborative computing has a smaller runtime delay with limited bandwidth resources, and because of the pipeline computing characteristics, the proposed method has a better response speed when processing large number of requests. Meanwhile, the OEGA algorithm has better performance than conventional methods, and the optimized partitioning method outperforms other methods like random and evenly partition. A multi-tolerance constraint-based registration algorithm for near-net-shape blades is proposed for problems of small machining allowance and positioning difficulties of near-net-shape blades. A global registration model based on the tolerance constraint of contour degree and a local registration model based on the constraints of position degree and torsion degree are established under multi-tolerance constraints. The registration algorithm proposed in this paper is verified using actual measurement data of a near-net-shape blade and its nominal model, and the solution process of the registration model is given. The analysis shows that the registration algorithm based on multi-tolerance constraints can effectively improve the registration accuracy of the near-net-shape blade. Registration parameters are optimized to make the out-of-tolerance value to be zero. Finally, based on the registration results, machining experiments are conducted on a near-net-shape blade. The results show that deviations of leading and trailing edge profiles are machined within the required limits. The proposed registration method is effective to improve the machining accuracy. In the past decades, surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) have become one of the most popular methods to solve expensive multi-objective optimization problems (EMOPs). However, most existing methods focus on low-dimensional EMOPs because a large number of training samples are required to build accurate surrogate models, which is unrealistic for high-dimensional EMOPs. Therefore, this paper develops a two-stage dominance-based surrogate-assisted evolution algorithm (TSDEA) for high-dimensional EMOPs which utilizes the RBF model to approximate each objective function. First, a two-stage selection strategy is applied to select individuals for re-evaluation. Then considering the training time of the model, proposing a novel archive updating strategy to limit the number of individuals for updating. The ridge beast is a beast placed on the ridge of the roof of ancient Chinese buildings, not only has a decorative function, and has a strict hierarchical meaning, the number and form of the ridge beast placed on different levels of buildings are strictly limited. The detection technology of ridge beast decorative parts has important application value in the fields of fine 3D reconstruction of ancient buildings, historical dating and cultural and tourism services. Aiming at the problem of poor detection performance of traditional detection algorithms due to high texture similarity and poor discrimination of ridge beast, this paper proposed an improved YOLOv3 based detection algorithm for ridge beast decorative pieces. In terms of basic network improvement, local features are aggregated to the deep separable convolution internal embedding summation layer, and point convolution is used to connect the channel information of original features and aggregated features, so as to expand the receptive field and learn more diverse features. The residual structure of the feature extraction network was constructed by using the convolution, and the extraction effect of the model on the fine-grained features of the ridge beast was optimized, so that the detection accuracy was improved. In the prediction head improvement of the model, the original linear structure was reconstructed, and the extrusion and excitation modules were introduced to model the channel relationship of multi-scale feature map, which suppressed the response of interference signals and made the feature more directivity. The parallel 1 × 1 and 3 × 3 convolution are used to construct a multi-size convolution structure, which enhances the semantic information extraction ability of the model and further improves the detection effect. Experiments were conducted on the constructed ridge-beast dataset, and the results showed that the mAP of the improved algorithm can reach 86.48%, which is 3.05% higher than YOLO-v3, and the model parameters are reduced by 70%, which has a better detection performance and can provide a reference for the automated detection of ancient building components. For maneuvering target tracking, a novel adaptive variable structure interactive multiple model filtering and smoothing (AVSIMMFS) algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, an accurate model of the variable structure interactive multiple model algorithm is established. Secondly, by constructing a new model subset based on the original model subsets, the matching accuracy between the model subset and the actual maneuvering mode of the target is improved. Then, the AVSIMMFS algorithm is obtained by smoothing the filtered data of the new model subset. Because of the combination of forward filtering and backward smoothing, the target tracking accuracy is further improved. Finally, in order to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm, the simulation is carried out on two cases. To improve the blockchain consensus algorithm practical Byzantine fault tolerance (PBFT) with random master node selection, which has high communication overhead and a small supported network size, this paper proposes a Byzantine fault tolerant consensus algorithm based on credit (CBFT) enhanced with a grouping and credit model. The CBFT algorithm divides the network nodes according to the speed of their response to the management nodes, resulting in different consensus sets, and achieves consensus within and outside the group separately to reduce communication overhead and increase system security. Second, the nodes are divided into different types according to the credit model, each with different responsibilities to reduce the probability that the master node is a malicious node. Experimental results show that the throughput of the CBFT algorithm is 3.1 times that of PBFT and 1.5 times that of GPBFT when the number of nodes is 52. Our scheme has latency that is 7.4% that of PBFT and 38.8% that of GPBFT; CBFT has communication overhead that is 6.4% that of PBFT and 87.3% that of GPBFT. Distributed learning, as the most popular solution for training large-scale data for deep learning, consists of multiple participants collaborating on data training tasks. However, the malicious behavior of some during the training process, like Byzantine participants who would interrupt or control the learning process, will trigger the crisis of data security. Although recent existing defense mechanisms use the variability of Byzantine node gradients to clear Byzantine values, it is still unable to identify and then clear the delicate disturbance/attack. To address this critical issue, we propose an algorithm named consensus aggregation in this paper. This algorithm allows computational nodes to use the information of verification nodes to verify the effectiveness of the gradient in the perturbation attack, reaching a consensus based on the effective verification of the gradient. Then the server node uses the gradient as the valid gradient for gradient aggregation calculation through the consensus reached by other computing nodes. On the MNIST and CIFAR10 datasets, when faced with Drift attacks, the proposed algorithm outperforms common existing aggregation algorithms (Krum, Trimmed Mean, Bulyan), with accuracies of 93.3%, 94.06% (MNIST dataset), and 48.66%, 51.55% (CIFAR10 dataset), respectively. This is an improvement of 3.0%, 3.8% (MNIST dataset), and 19.0%, 26.1% (CIFAR10 dataset) over the current state-of-the-art methods, and successfully defended against other attack methods. In popular discussions, the nuances of AI are often abridged as "the algorithm", as the specific arrangements of machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL) and automated decision-making on social media platforms are typically shrouded in proprietary secrecy punctuated by press releases and transparency initiatives. What is clear, however, is that AI embedded on social media functions to recommend content, personalize ads, aggregate news stories, and moderate problematic material. It is also increasingly apparent that individuals are concerned with the uses, implications, and fairness of algorithmic systems. Perhaps in response to concerns about "the algorithm" by individuals and governments, social media platforms utilize transparency initiatives and official statements, in part, to deflect official regulation. In the following paper, I draw from transparency initiatives and statements from representatives of Facebook and TikTok as case studies of how AI is embedded in these platforms, with attention to the promotion of AI content moderation as a solution to the circulation of problematic material and misinformation. This examination considers the complexity of embedded AI as a material-discursive apparatus, predicated on discursive techniques—what is seeable, sayable, knowable in a given time period—as well as the material arrangements—algorithms, datasets, users, platforms, infrastructures, moderators, etc. As such, the use of AI as part of the immensely popular platforms Facebook and TikTok demonstrates that AI does not exist in isolation, instead functioning as human–machine ensemble reliant on strategies of acceptance via discursive techniques and the changing material arrangements of everyday embeddedness. The dictionary grid mismatch problem in sparse processing is an important factor affecting parameter reconstruction. The existing grid correction algorithms are limited by the initial grid division and the accurate estimation of the support set vector. Furthermore, these methods fail if multiple scattering points fall into the same grid interval. In this paper, a constrained inhomogeneous grid optimization sparse processing algorithm is proposed. The proposed method includes two sub-processes, namely initial grid optimization and the support set vector correction. The optimization of the initial grid is to use the idea of the coordinate descent method to iteratively generate an updated grid vector, which is used for the inhomogeneous fission of the grid around the target from coarse to dense. Moreover, under the constraint of dictionary atom maximum correlation, multiple scattering points are separated in different grids, which improves the search accuracy of support set atoms. The correction process of the support set vector is to use the first-order Taylor expansion of the dictionary grid to linearly approximate the real parameters of the target, to achieve adaptive correction of dictionary mismatched atoms. According to the simulation experiment of the frequency agile radar scenario, the proposed algorithm can achieve higher range-Doppler parameter joint estimation accuracy in the multi-scattering point scenario in comparison with the conventional sparse recovery algorithm and grid point correction algorithm. Application with a set of dependent distributed tasks is generally regarded as a direct acyclic graph or an out-tree. Tree-shaped task graphs are widely applied in a variety of computational domains, including electronic structure computations and sparse matrix factorization. Efficient algorithms for tree-shaped task partition and allocation can dominate the performance of heterogeneous computing systems, as most relevant publications have pointed out. This paper presents efficient algorithms for partitioning and allocating tree-shaped tasks on heterogeneous multiprocessor systems with limited memory to improve task-parallel computing. The proposed main algorithm consists of two stages: partition and allocation. During partition, an algorithm is provided for partitioning a task tree into multiple subtrees. It iteratively partitions the subtrees on the critical path of the quotient tree. During allocation, two algorithms are proposed for task allocation to minimize the task tree's execution time. One is to preferentially allocate the largest subtree of the whole tree, and the other is to preferentially allocate the subtree located on the quotient tree's critical path. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithms significantly improve the latest works in terms of average makespan, both on randomly generated trees and on a real-world dataset. On a real-world dataset, the average makespan of existing work is approximately 6.28 × 10 8 . However, it is approximately 2.13 × 10 8 for our proposed algorithm. This results in a reduction of 64.33%. On randomly generated trees, the average makespan of existing work is approximately 8973. However, it is approximately 4040 for our proposed algorithm. The performance growth in processors has been continuing toward increasing the number of processing cores on the chip and scaling the feature size of transistors. However, in the nanoera, side effects of the scaling, such as induced heterogeneities in the performance, power, and soft error rate of identically designed cores, prevent the potential performance from being fully utilized. In this paper, we harness the mentioned side effects in shared-memory multicore processors with unknown workloads by a dynamic heuristic scheduling algorithm called HDSAP. HDSAP aims to maximize performance, i.e., the average response time, under power and reliability constraints in presence of induced heterogeneities. In this regard, we use a mathematical model to quantify task to core assignments based on performance variation. We also consider the variation in power to change selected cores when the power constraint is missed. To meet the reliability constraint, we use N-modular redundancy while being aware of the variation in the soft error rate of cores to prevent under/over reliability estimation. To evaluate HDSAP, we run SPLASH benchmark suite on Sniper and MACPat simulators. The attribute-based encryption (ABE) scheme is suitable for access control of ciphertext in cloud computing. Kowalczyk and Wee proposed an adaptively secure attribute-based encryption scheme that supports NC 1 circuits. However, the ciphertext length increases rapidly with the depth of the circuit, resulting in an increase of the computational complexity of the encryption and decryption algorithms. In this paper, to overcome this challenge, a ciphertext-policy ABE scheme that supports circuits with fan-in n is proposed. First, we design new pebble rules for secret sharing in circuits with fan-in n, improving the compactness of the security reduction. Then, the new secret sharing scheme is embedded in the encryption algorithm, which is the key to improving efficiency. Moreover, we prove the adaptive security of the scheme by using a piecewise guessing framework and dual-system encryption. Finally, by comparison analysis, this scheme exhibits a better performance. The research of resistive network will become the basis of many fields. At present, many exact potential formulas of some complex resistor networks have been obtained. Computer numerical simulation is the trend of computing, but written calculation will limit the time and scale. In this paper, the potential formulas of a m × n scale cobweb resistor network and fan resistor network are optimized. Chebyshev polynomial of the second class and the absolute value function are used to express the novel potential formulas of the resistor network, and described in detail the derivation process of the explicit formula. Considering the influence of parameters on the potential formulas, several idiosyncratic potential formulas are proposed, and the corresponding three-dimensional dynamic images are drawn. Two numerical algorithms of the computing potential are presented by using the mathematical model and DST-VI. Finally, the efficiency of calculating potential by different methods are compared. The advantages of new potential formulas and numerical algorithms by the calculation efficiency of the three methods are shown. This paper proposes a new gradient-descent algorithm for complex independent component analysis and presents its application to the Multiple-Input Multiple-Output communication systems. Algorithm uses the Lie structure of optimization landscape and toral decomposition of gradient matrix. The theoretical results are validated by computer simulation and compared to several classes of algorithms, gradient descent, quasi-Newton as well as complex JADE. The simulations performed showed excellent results of the algorithm in terms of speed, stability of operation and the quality of separation. A characteristic feature of gradient methods is their quick response to changes in the input signal. The good results of the proposed algorithm indicate potential use in on-line applications. The intrinsic high parallelism and entanglement characteristics of quantum computing have made quantum image processing techniques a focus of great interest. One of the most widely used techniques in image processing is segmentation, which in one of their most basic forms can be carried out using thresholding algorithms. In this paper, a fault-tolerant quantum dual-threshold algorithm has been proposed. This algorithm has been built using only Clifford+T gates for compatibility with error detection and correction codes. Because fault-tolerant implementation of T gates has a much higher cost than other quantum gates, our focus has been on reducing the number of these gates. This has allowed adding noise tolerance, computational cost reduction, and fault tolerance to the state-of-the-art dual-threshold segmentation circuits. Since the dual-threshold image segmentation involves the comparison operation, as part of this work we have implemented two full comparator circuits. In a cryptosystem, a cipher's security is directly dependent on a key-schedule or key-scheduling algorithm (KSA) or that is used for both encryption and decryption. The random-number-based KSA adds another layer of security and prevents hackers from performing cryptanalysis. Several previous studies have investigated the strength of a cipher's encryption process. The strength evaluation of the key-scheduling process has received less attention that can lead to weaknesses in the overall encryption process. This paper proposes a new framework consisting of cryptographic strength evaluation criteria for random number generators (RNG)-based KSAs. Our framework (CryptoQNRG) evaluates different key-schedules based on pseudorandom and quantum random number generators with a set of tests. There are test suites that compare the strength of KSAs for different block ciphers. To the best of our knowledge this is the first time that a framework is built to compare the strength of KSAs incorporating RNGs and various block ciphers. CryptoQNRG comprises of four tests: Frequency, Bit_Correlation, Bit_Interfold, and Bit_Entropy. The tests are used to explore cryptographic properties such as unpredictability, balance of bits, correlation, confusion, and diffusion in the subkeys generated by the RNG-based KSA. We have evaluated the most common KSAs with different block ciphers and a significant outcome of the proposed framework is the distinction between strong and weak RNG-based KSAs. In the complex multipath propagation environment, whether there is a line of sight (LOS) path will directly affect the positioning accuracy. Therefore, this paper proposes a single base station hybrid positioning algorithm based on LOS identification. In the algorithm, we first construct multiple features based on channel state information with LOS and without LOS in statistical distribution and use these features and gradient boosting decision tree to determine whether there is a LOS path in the environment. Then for the environment with a LOS path, we proposed a positioning method based on the estimation of signal parameters via rotation invariant technology algorithm which can be used to jointly estimate the angle of arrival and time delay of the LOS path for positioning, while for the environment without LOS path, we propose a positioning method based on adaptive genetic algorithm. Finally, a single base station hybrid positioning algorithm based on LOS identification and the corresponding positioning methods. With the development of the information age and the maturity of Internet of Things technology, wireless sensor network has been widely applied in indoor localization. However, the non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation in complicated environment and the inherent noise of the sensor will introduce errors in the measurements, which will seriously lead to inaccurate positioning. In this paper, a novel localization scheme based on the mean reconstruction method is proposed, which reconstructs the distance measurements from all beacon nodes by taking the average twice to weaken the adverse effects of NLOS. At the same time, the noise average is re-estimated when the distance difference is not too large. Next, the robust extended Kalman filter (REKF) is used to process the reconstructed distance measurements to obtain positioning results. To make the positioning results more accurate, hypothesis test is used as NLOS identification to classify the position estimates generated from all distance combinations by least-squares. Then, the residual weighting (RWGH) method is utilized to combine the position estimates that fall into the validation region. At last, we merge the results from RWGH and REKF. Ultrasonic vocalizations (USVs) analysis represents a fundamental tool to study animal communication. It can be used to perform a behavioral investigation of mice for ethological studies and in the field of neuroscience and neuropharmacology. The USVs are usually recorded with a microphone sensitive to ultrasound frequencies and then processed by specific software, which help the operator to identify and characterize different families of calls. Recently, many automated systems have been proposed for automatically performing both the detection and the classification of the USVs. Of course, the USV segmentation represents the crucial step for the general framework, since the quality of the call processing strictly depends on how accurately the call itself has been previously detected. In this paper, we investigate the performance of three supervised deep learning methods for automated USV segmentation: an Auto-Encoder Neural Network (AE), a U-NET Neural Network (UNET) and a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). The proposed models receive as input the spectrogram associated with the recorded audio track and return as output the regions in which the USV calls have been detected. To evaluate the performance of the models, we have built a dataset by recording several audio tracks and manually segmenting the corresponding USV spectrograms generated with the Avisoft software, producing in this way the ground-truth (GT) used for training. All three proposed architectures demonstrated precision and recall scores exceeding 90 % , with UNET and AE achieving values above 95 % , surpassing other state-of-the-art methods that were considered for comparison in this study. Additionally, the evaluation was extended to an external dataset, where UNET once again exhibited the highest performance. Then, a new difference-of-convex algorithm with extrapolation is introduced and the convergence of the algorithm is established. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a universal network to supervise the physical world through sensors installed on different devices. The network can improve many areas, including healthcare because IoT technology has the potential to reduce pressure caused by aging and chronic diseases on healthcare systems. For this reason, researchers attempt to solve the challenges of this technology in healthcare. In this paper, a fuzzy logic-based secure hierarchical routing scheme using the firefly algorithm (FSRF) is presented for IoT-based healthcare systems. FSRF comprises three main frameworks: fuzzy trust framework, firefly algorithm-based clustering framework, and inter-cluster routing framework. A fuzzy logic-based trust framework is responsible for evaluating the trust of IoT devices on the network. This framework identifies and prevents routing attacks like black hole, flooding, wormhole, sinkhole, and selective forwarding. Moreover, FSRF supports a clustering framework based on the firefly algorithm. It presents a fitness function that evaluates the chance of IoT devices to be cluster head nodes. The design of this function is based on trust level, residual energy, hop count, communication radius, and centrality. Also, FSRF involves an on-demand routing framework to decide on reliable and energy-efficient paths that can send the data to the destination faster. Finally, FSRF is compared to the energy-efficient multi-level secure routing protocol (EEMSR) and the enhanced balanced energy-efficient network-integrated super heterogeneous (E-BEENISH) routing method based on network lifetime, energy stored in IoT devices, and packet delivery rate (PDR). These results prove that FSRF improves network longevity by 10.34% and 56.35% and the energy stored in the nodes by 10.79% and 28.51% compared to EEMSR and E-BEENISH, respectively. Tree–seed algorithm is a stochastic search algorithm with superior performance suitable for solving continuous optimization problems. However, it is also prone to fall into local optimum and slow in convergence. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved tree–seed algorithm based on pattern search, dimension permutation, and elimination update mechanism (PDSTSA). Firstly, a global optimization strategy based on pattern search is used to promote detection ability. Secondly, in order to maintain the diversity of the population, a random mutation strategy of individual dimension replacement is introduced. Finally, the elimination and update mechanism based on inferior trees is introduced in the middle and later stages of the iteration. Subsequently, PDSTSA is compared with seven representative algorithms on the IEEE CEC2015 test function for simulation experiments and convergence curve analysis. The experimental results indicate that PDSTSA has better optimization accuracy and convergence speed than other comparison algorithms. Then, the Wilcoxon rank sum test demonstrates that there is a significant difference between the optimization results of PDSTSA and each comparison algorithm. In addition, the results of eight algorithms for solving engineering constrained optimization problems further prove the feasibility, practicability, and superiority of PDSTSA. With the development of current computing technology, workflow applications have become more important in a variety of fields, including research, education, health care, and scientific experimentation. A group of tasks with complicated dependency relationships constitute the workflow applications. It can be difficult to create an acceptable execution sequence while maintaining precedence constraints. Workflow scheduling algorithms (WSA) are gaining more attention from researchers as a real-time concern. Even though a variety of research perspectives have been demonstrated for WSAs, it remains challenging to develop a single coherent algorithm that simultaneously meets a variety of criteria. There is very less research available on WSA in the heterogeneous computing system. Classical scheduling techniques, evolutionary optimisation algorithms, and other methodologies are the available solution to this problem. The workflow scheduling problem is regarded as NP-complete. This problem is constrained by various factors, such as Quality of Service, interdependence between tasks, and user deadlines. In this paper, an efficient meta-heuristic approach named Multi-objective Artificial Algae (MAA) algorithm is presented for scheduling scientific workflows in a hierarchical fog-cloud environment. In the first phase, the algorithm pre-processes scientific workflow and prepares two task lists. In order to speed up execution, bottleneck tasks are executed with high priority. The MAA algorithm is used to schedule tasks in the following stage to reduce execution times, energy consumption and overall costs. In order to effectively use fog resources, the algorithm also utilises the weighted sum-based multi-objective function. The proposed approach is evaluated using five benchmark scientific workflow datasets. To verify the performance, the proposed algorithm's results are compared to those of conventional and specialised WSAs. In comparison to previous methodologies, the average results demonstrate significant improvements of about 43% in execution time, 28% in energy consumption and 10% in total cost without any trade-offs. The results of a parallel implementation of a randomized vector algorithm for solving systems of linear equations are presented in the paper. The solution is represented in the form of a Neumann series. The stochastic method computes this series by sampling only random columns, avoiding multiplication of matrix by matrix and matrix by vector. We consider the case when the matrix is too large to fit in random-access memory (RAM). We use two approaches to solve this problem. In the first approach, the matrix is divided into parts that are distributed among MPI processes and stored in the available RAM of the cluster nodes. In the second approach, the entire matrix is stored on each node's hard drive, loaded into RAM, and processed in parts. Independent Monte Carlo experiments for random column indices are distributed among MPI processes or OpenMP threads for both approaches to matrix storage. This paper suggests the optimized squared-off cascades (SOCs) with a certain number of gas centrifuges (GCs) to separate stable isotopes, such as the lightest and heaviest isotopes of molybdenum (100Mo and 92Mo) up to 99.9% richness, using the particle swarm optimization (PSO), the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), and the dragonfly algorithm (DA). To do this, the SOC-PSO, SOC-WOA, and SOC-DA codes are developed to optimize the parameters of SOCs. Then the performances of these codes in optimizing SOCs for separating each of 92Mo and 100Mo isotopes are compared based on the recovery factor, the feed intake, and the amount of production with the use of 120 gas centrifuges. The recovery coefficients of SOCs for 92Mo and 100Mo isotopes obtained by the SOC-PSO code are 82 and 80%, respectively. Finally, the performances of the PSO, WOA, and DA algorithms in optimizing SOCs for each of light and heavy isotopes are compared, and a higher efficiency of the PSO algorithm is revealed. Video Snapshot compressive imaging (SCI) is a promising technique to capture high-speed videos, which transforms the imaging speed from the detector to mask modulating and only needs a single measurement to capture multiple frames. The algorithm to reconstruct high-speed frames from the measurement plays a vital role in SCI. In this paper, we consider the promising reconstruction algorithm framework, namely plug-and-play (PnP), which is flexible to the encoding process comparing with other deep learning networks. One drawback of existing PnP algorithms is that they use a pre-trained denoising network as a plugged prior while the training data of the network might be different from the task in real applications. Towards this end, in this work, we propose the online PnP algorithm which can adaptively update the network's parameters within the PnP iteration; this makes the denoising network more applicable to the desired data in the SCI reconstruction. Furthermore, for color video imaging, RGB frames need to be recovered from Bayer pattern or named demosaicing in the camera pipeline. To address this challenge, we design a two-stage reconstruction framework to optimize these two coupled ill-posed problems and introduce a deep demosaicing prior specifically for video demosaicing in SCI. Current link prediction strategies are about finding new probable strong relations to establish or weak ones to remove. An interesting strategy is utilizing link prediction to prioritize the edges in the network and finding newly probable established relations. In this paper we will introduce and explain RLP, reverse link prediction, as a new paradigm, and use popular basic scoring methods including CN, JC, AA, RA, and PA, as its core to examine. The test cases are nine datasets. Half of them are contact networks in different levels from personal contact to aviation, and another half is for covering different test situations. After reviewing the edge removal based epidemic mitigation methods, we show that RLP can be used to decrease the epidemics spreading speed as a general method with various link prediction algorithms, and here in this paper, preferential attachment (PA) has the best results overall. But the results heavily depend on the nature of the examined networks: regular, scale-free or small-world. We also propose an easy to understand criteria, path count, for comparing the efficacy of epidemics mitigation methods. Swarm Intelligence (SI) algorithms are frequently applied to tackle complex optimization problems. SI is especially used when good solutions are requested for NP hard problems within a reasonable response time. And when such problems possess a very high dimensionality, a dynamic nature, or present intrinsic complex intertwined independent variables, computational costs for SI algorithms may still be too high. Therefore, new approaches and hardware support are needed to speed up processing. Nowadays, with the popularization of GPU and multi-core processing, parallel versions of SI algorithms can provide the required performance on those though problems. This paper aims to describe the state of the art of such approaches, to summarize the key points addressed, and also to identify the research gaps that could be addressed better. The scope of this review considers recent papers mainly focusing on parallel implementations of the most frequently used SI algorithms. The use of nested parallelism is of particular interest, since one level of parallelism is often not sufficient to exploit the computational power of contemporary parallel hardware. Uniform equal thickness layering is widely used in 3D printing, which cannot take into account the printing quality and printing efficiency. In this paper, a new adaptive layering algorithm based on multi-objective optimization is proposed for this problem. The algorithm comprehensively considers the surface features of the model, the slope and curvature of the contour, and establishes a multi-objective optimization model with print quality, print time, and feature constraints. And the Pareto optimal solution set of multi-objective optimization is solved by the improved non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II (NSGA-II), and the Pareto optimal solution that meets different printing requirements is selected by the Fuzzy-based weighted membership ranking method. Through comparative experiments, the method proposed in this paper reduces the volume error rate by 40.9% and the printing time by 33.3% compared with uniform layering, which can effectively improve the printing quality and printing efficiency. In this paper, a novel pitch detection algorithm (PDA) is proposed. Actually, pitch detection is a classical problem that has been investigated since the very beginning of speech processing. However, the novelty of the proposed method consists in establishing an empirical relationship between fundamental frequency ( f 0 ) and instantaneous frequency ( f i ), which serves as a basis to develop the proposed PDA. Even though f 0 and f i are defined as attributes of two different transforms, i.e., the Fourier transform and the Hilbert transform, respectively, the relationship proposed in this paper shows some interaction between both of them, at least empirically. The first step of this work consists in validating the proposed relationship on a large set of speech signals. Then, it is leveraged to develop an algorithm capable to (a) detect voiced/unvoiced parts of speech and (b) extract f 0 contour from f i values in the voiced parts. For evaluation purposes, the yielding f 0 contour is compared to some well-rated state-of-the-art PDA's. The main findings show that the quality of pitch detection obtained by the proposed technique is as satisfactory as some of top PDA's, either in clean or in simulated noisy speech. Large-scale numerical optimization problems arise from many fields and have applications in both industrial and academic contexts. Finding solutions to such optimization problems efficiently requires algorithms that are able to leverage the increasing parallelism available in modern computing hardware. In this paper, we review previous work on parallelizing algorithms for nonlinear optimization. To introduce the topic, the paper starts by giving an accessible introduction to nonlinear optimization and high-performance computing. This is followed by a survey of previous work on parallelization and utilization of high-performance computing hardware for nonlinear optimization algorithms. Finally, we present a number of optimization software libraries and how they are able to utilize parallel computing today. This study can serve as an introduction point for researchers interested in nonlinear optimization or high-performance computing, as well as provide ideas and inspiration for future work combining these topics. This paper presents the data description of the African buffalo optimization algorithm (ABO). ABO is a recently-designed optimization algorithm that is inspired by the migrant behaviour of African buffalos in the vast African landscape. Organizing their large herds that could be over a thousand buffalos using just two principal sounds, the /maaa/ and the /waaa/ calls present a good foundation for the development of an optimization algorithm. Since elaborate descriptions of the manual workings of optimization algorithms are rare in literature, this paper aims at solving this problem, hence it is our main contribution. It is our belief that elaborate manual description of the workings of optimization algorithms make it user-friendly and encourage reproducibility of the experimental procedures performed using this algorithm. Again, our ability to describe the algorithm's basic flow, stochastic and data generation processes in a language so simple that any non-expert can appreciate and use as well as the practical implementation of the popular benchmark Rosenbrock and Shekel Foxhole functions with the novel algorithm will assist the research community in benefiting maximally from the contributions of this novel algorithm. Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) is one of Non Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) candidates for 5G, the fifth generation mobile network. Multiple overlapped blocks of SCMA code are transmitted per frequency layer which compels the receiver to cancel unwanted SCMA code blocks. Thanks to the sparsity of SCMA, Message Passing Algorithm (MPA) achieves near-optimal performance. Nevertheless, this process is time-consuming and has a high degree of complexity even if Max-Log Algorithm is used. The major contribution of this paper is to propose a new decoding scheme called Hybrid Interference Cancellation (HIC) to reduce time processing without degrading a target Bit Error Rate (BER). The HIC decodes and removes the strongest user, reducing the complexity of Log Domain MPA decoding of remaining users, followed by a Low Density Parity Code (LDPC) decoder. The interference cancellation decoder is either a hard interference cancellation or a soft interference cancellation. The originality of the paper is to calculate a threshold value based on power measurements to decide whether hard decoder or soft decoder should be used to reach the BER target with a lower complexity. The potential benefits of Industry 4.0 have led to an increased interest in smart manufacturing. To facilitate the self-diagnosis and adaptive ability in smart milling system, a digital twin–driven intelligent algorithm for monitoring in-process milling parameters is proposed here. The algorithm can extract the radial width of cut, axial depth of cut, cutter runout parameters, and cutting constants in the end milling process at the same time only by using force sensor. It is an important breakthrough in this paper to converge two different force models to realize cyber-physical fusion for identifying milling parameters in the milling process. By using the convolution force model, digital twin technology can extract the approximate solution of milling parameters in the machining process in advance, so as to narrow the range of solution. Furthermore, the subsequent artificial intelligence algorithm can find the accurate solution of the current milling parameters in a short calculation time by cyber-physical fusion with the numerical force model considering cutter runout effect. Milling experiments are carried out to validate the proposed algorithm. It is shown that due to the complementary advantages of the convolution force model and numerical force model, the algorithm proposed in this paper can give consider to the identification accuracy and calculation efficiency. This paper presents a fault detection and faulty area identification algorithm in double-circuit transmission lines (DCTLs) compensated by the generalized unified power flow controller (GUPFC) for the first time. The topology of the GUPFC-compensated DCTL is threatened by three types of faults: single-circuit faults, inter-circuit faults, and grounded double-circuit cross-country faults. In the first step, the suggested scheme can determine the time of fault in this type of topology using a very fast method that is based on the analysis of a current index called the current jump index. In the second step, the fault type and area are identified with the help of two other indices, i.e., voltage difference index and current difference index. The test network presented in this paper, which includes a DCTL and a GUPFC, along with the proposed algorithm, is implemented in the MATLAB software package. The two-dimension strip packing problem (2DSPP) is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, and it has a wide range of applications. The order in which the rectangles are placed in the strip is the key to solving the 2DSPP. In this paper, the corner increment multi-level scoring strategy and the two-step selection strategy are proposed to make the selection of rectangles more reasonable. The hierarchical construction strategy is used to improve the constructive heuristic algorithm to expand the search space of the rectangle selection. Based on this, this paper proposes a multi-strategy rectangle selection algorithm TSMSA for solving 2DSPP. Comparing experiments with 7 excellent algorithms for solving 2DSPP on 737 instances of the benchmark dataset shows that the instance number of the optimal solution obtained by TSMSA is 1.05~2.9 times that of the other 7 algorithms. The ship floating raft system adopts the integrated design of large liquid tanks and rafts, which can optimize the arrangement in the cabin and increase the intermediate mass of the system to achieve efficient vibration isolation of equipment. One of the major challenges is that the change of liquid mass in the tank will cause displacement of the raft, which will change the modal characteristics of the system and affect the stability of the vibration isolation system performance. This paper establishes a mechanical analysis model of a floating raft system under time-varying liquid mass conditions. Taking a ship variable mass floating raft system as the research object, the effect of mass change on the characteristics of raft displacement, isolator load distribution, and modal frequency of the vibration isolation system is analyzed. The analysis shows that when the liquid tank goes from full load to no-load state, its mass change accounts for 40% of the total mass of the raft, which will cause a large displacement of the raft and change the low order modal frequency of the system, bringing the risk of equipment safety and vibration isolation performance degradation. Therefore, an adaptive variable load control method is proposed to realize the raft attitude balance and load equalization optimization under the variable mass condition of the floating raft air spring system. The test results show that the proposed control method can automatically adapt to the large mass gradual change from full load to no load of the liquid tank on the raft, and control the displacement of the raft structure from about 10 mm to 1.5 mm, which effectively ensures the stability of the air spring system performance. Neuroadaptive technology (NAT) is a closed-loop neurotechnology designed to enhance human–computer interaction. NAT works by collecting neurophysiological data, which are analysed via autonomous algorithms to create actions and adaptations at the user interface. This paper concerns how interaction with NAT can mediate self-related processing (SRP), such as self-awareness, self-knowledge, and agency. We begin with a postphenomenological analysis of the NAT closed loop to highlight the built-in selectivities of machine hermeneutics, i.e., autonomous chains of algorithms that convert data into an assessment of psychological states/intentions. We argue that these algorithms produce an assessment of lived experience that is quantitative, reductive, and highly simplistic. This reductive assessment of lived experience is presented to the user via feedback at the NAT interface and subsequently mediates SRP. It is argued that congruence between system feedback and SRP determines the precise character of the alterity relation between human user and system. If feedback confirms SRP, the technology is regarded as a quasi-self. If there is a disagreement between SRP and feedback from the system, NAT is perceived to be a quasi-other.
