Researchers at Duke University have conducted a study focusing on the identification of humoral biomarkers predictive of protection against controlled human malaria infection induced by the RTS,S/AS01 vaccine. The study found that specific antibody measures, including IgG1 NANP binding magnitude and serum NANP and N-junction Ig binding magnitude-avidity composite, were associated with protection. These findings provide a tool for predicting protection in future trials and contribute to a better understanding of the efficacy of the malaria vaccine.
