Background: Rapidly growing healthcare demand associated with global population aging has spurred the development of new digital tools for the assessment of cognitive performance in older adults. Objective: To develop a fully automated Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) assessment model and validate the model's rating consistency. Methods: The Automated Assessment Model for MMSE (AAM-MMSE) was an about 10-min computerized cognitive screening tool containing the same questions as the traditional paper-based Chinese MMSE. The validity of the AAM-MMSE was assessed in term of the consistency between the AAM-MMSE rating and physician rating. Results: A total of 427 participants were recruited for this study. The average age of these participants was 60.6 years old (ranging from 19 to 104 years old). According to the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), the interrater reliability between physicians and the AAM-MMSE for the full MMSE scale AAM-MMSE was high [ICC (2,1)=0.952; with its 95% CI of (0.883,0.974)]. According to the weighted kappa coefficients results the interrater agreement level for audio-related items showed high, but for items "Reading and obey", "Three-stage command", and "Writing complete sentence" were slight to fair. The AAM-MMSE rating accuracy was 87%. A Bland-Altman plot showed that the bias between the two total scores was 1.48 points with the upper and lower limits of agreement equal to 6.23 points and −3.26 points. Detecting and warning Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) malware in Endpoint is essential because the current trend of APT attacker groups is to find ways to spread malware to users and then escalate privileges in the system. In this study, to improve the ability to detect APT malware on Endpoint machines, we propose a novel intelligent cognitive calculation method based on a model combining graph embeddings and Attention using processes generated by executable files. The proposed intelligent cognitive computation method performs 3 main tasks: i) extracting behaviors of processes; ii) aggregating the malware behaviors based on the processes; iii) detecting APT malware based on behavior analysis. To carry out the task (i), we propose to use several data mining techniques: extracting processes from Event IDs in the operating system kernel; extracting abnormal behaviors of processes. For task (ii), a graph embedding (GE) model based on the Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) network is proposed to be used. For task (iii), based on the results of task (ii), the paper proposes to use a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) network and Attention network (called CNN-Attention). The novelty and originality of this study is an intelligent cognitive computation method based on the use, combination, and synchronization of many different data mining techniques to compute, extract, and represent relationships and correlations among APT malware behaviors from processes. Based on this new intelligent cognitive computation method, many meaningful anomalous features and behaviors of APT malware have been synthesized and extracted. The proposals related to data mining methods to extract malware's features and the list of malware's behaviors provided in this paper are new information that has not been published in previous studies. In the experimental section, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in detecting APT malware, the study has compared and evaluated it with other approaches. Experimental results in the paper have shown the outstanding efficiency of the proposed method when ensuring all metrics from 96.6% or more (that are 2% to 6% higher than other approaches). Experimental results in the paper have proven that our proposed method not only has scientifically significant but also has practical meaning because the method has helped to improve the efficiency of analyzing and detecting APT malware on Endpoint devices. Manufacturers perpetually adapt their systems to meet unforeseen events, new objectives, competition, and improved understanding of processes. In that human-directed work, models mediate an enduring relationship between production resources and engineers. Accommodating new understanding in the models controlling production can lead to more effective manufacturing. That work has previously been the province of quality programs such as Six Sigma, but is now fertile ground to study human-computer interaction about that enduring relationship mediated by models. Can AI augment human capability in the arcane work of formulating and refining models? This question is relevant to complex system engineering generally, not just manufacturing. In answering this question, this paper adapts Klein's flexecution for use in adaptable manufacturing systems. Theory flexecution, the methodical refinement of models, points to human-computer interactions that emphasize the roles of models, explanation, and machine agents that recognize the engineer's goals. In modern times, digital medical images play a significant progression in clinical diagnosis to treat the populace earlier to hoard their lives. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is one of the most advanced medical imaging modalities that facilitate scanning various parts of the human body like the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis and identify the diseases. Numerous studies on the same discipline have proposed different algorithms, techniques, and methods for analyzing medical digital images, especially MRI. Most of them have mainly focused on identifying and classifying the images as either normal or abnormal. Computing brainpower is essential to understand and handle various brain diseases efficiently in critical situations. This paper knuckles down to design and implement a computer-aided framework, enhancing the identification of humans' cognitive power from their MRI. Images. The proposed framework converts the 3D DICOM images into 2D medical images, preprocessing, enhancement, learning, and extracting various image information to classify it as normal or abnormal and provide the brain's cognitive power. This study widens the efficient use of machine learning methods, Voxel Residual Network (VRN), with multimodality fusion architecture to learn and analyze the image to classify and predict cognitive power. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the rapid spread of online education and tests demanded the implementation of cheating detection tools to ensure academic integrity. While advances in technology such as face recognition, face expression recognition, head posture analysis, eye gaze tracking, network data traffic analysis, and IP spoofing detection have shown promising results in detecting fraudulent behavior, their integration raises ethical concerns that must be carefully considered. This work presents a cognitive computing strategy for investigating the ethical implications of using cheating detection systems in online tests. This study attempts to examine the potential impact on students' privacy, fairness, and trust in the examination process by employing cognitive computing, which models human cognitive capacities. A thorough literature review is used in the process to uncover existing ethical norms and regulatory frameworks linked to online assessments and cheating detection. Soft computing approaches are also used to evaluate the effectiveness and dependability of the aforementioned cheating detection strategies. The study looks into how far facial recognition and expression analysis can go in terms of privacy, as well as the possibility of bias in head posture analysis and eye gaze tracking algorithms. Furthermore, it investigates the ethical implications of monitoring network data traffic and detecting IP spoofing, with a focus on data security and user permission. The cognitive computing model, based on the analysis, presents a comprehensive framework for ethical decision-making when installing cheating detection technologies. The findings of this study contribute to the continuing discussion about the ethical concerns of using modern technologies to identify cheating in online exams. It provides educational institutions and policymakers with practical ideas for striking a balance between academic integrity and protecting students' rights and dignity. The potential value of AI to healthcare, and nursing in particular, ranges from improving quality and efficiency of care to delivering on the promise of personalized and precision medicine. AI systems may become virtually indispensable as ever more data is amassed about every aspect of health. AI can help reduce variability in care, while improving precision, accelerating discovery and reducing disparities. AI can empower patients and potentially allow healthcare professionals to relate to their patients as healers supported by the combined wisdom of the best medical research and analytic technology. There are, however, many challenges to understanding the optimal uses of AI; addressing the technological, systemic, regulatory and attitudinal roadblocks to successful implementation; and integrating AI into the fabric of health care. Cognitive computing is the mirroring of human brain and this is made possible by using natural language processing, pattern recognition and data mining. By mirroring the human brain (Cognitive computing system), helps to solve some of the complicated problems without much of human supervision. In the fast-changing world, the major challenge every organization facing is difficulty in retaining its employees. Employees may leave an organization due to low salary, overwork, lack of opportunities and recognition, work culture, work-life imbalance etc. Better ways to retain employees is to understand their requirements and fulfill them. The proposed employee feedback sentiment analysis system collects the employee feedback reviews from open forums and perform sentiment analysis using Recurrent Neural Network – Long Short-term Memory (RNN-LSTM) algorithm. On performing Sentiment analysis, employee review comments are classified as Positive or Negative. A report is generated and sent to the HR of the organization as webapp or mobile app. The report has total number of positive and negative comments and positive and negative counts with respect to salary, work pressure etc. With the report, the organization can arrive at identifying social sentiments of their brand and may take corrective actions to retain employees which benefits both organization and employees. This paper also captures the performance of various models in training and predicting the employee feedback dataset and the models evaluated are Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest Classifier, AdaBoost Classifier, Gradient Boosting Classifier, Decision Tree Classifier and Gaussian Naïve Bayes. The classification report and accuracy of each model is captured. The dataset size was gradually increased from 200 to 1000 and accuracy was predicted for each model. It was identified that the accuracy of machine learning algorithms was ranging between 66% to 85%. On training RNN-LSTM algorithm with dataset of size 30 k, the accuracy was 88%. It was identified that Deep learning algorithm RNN-LSTM performs better with huge dataset. Increasing dataset size still increase the performance of RNN-LSTM algorithm in training and prediction. Data cognition plays an important role in cognitive computing. Cognition of low-resolution (LR) image is a long-stand problem because LR images have insufficient information about objects. For better cognition of LR images, a multi-resolution residual network (MRRN) is proposed to improve image resolution in this paper for cognitive computing systems. In MRRN, a multi-resolution feature learning (MRFL) strategy is introduced to achieve satisfying performance with low computational costs. Inspired by image pyramids, a feature pyramid is designed to implement multi-resolution feature learning in the building unit of the proposed MRRN. Specifically, multi-resolution residual units (MRRUs) are introduced as the building units of the proposed network, which consist of a feature pyramid decomposition stage and a feature reconstruction stage. To obtain informative features, transferred skip links (TSLs) are utilized to transfer fine-grain residual features in the pyramid decomposition stage to the reconstruction stage. The effectiveness of MRFL and TSL is demonstrated by ablation experiments. Also, the tests on standard benchmarks indicate the superiority of the proposed MRRN over other state-of-the-art methods. Dynamic Concept-cognitive Learning (CCL) is an active field in cognitive computing. Decremented concept cognition is an important topic in dynamic CCL. As an important feature of the dynamic CCL, attenuation characteristics have been successfully visualized by concept lattice and three-dimensional attribute topology. However, the existing attenuation characteristic analysis method has limitations to the description of interaction between attributes. A method of attenuation characteristics analysis of concept tree is proposed. The coupling between nodes is discussed from the concept tree, the nodes are decremented according to the coupling relationship, and the corresponding node attenuation rules are discussed according to the different types of nodes. In this paper, the news attention is the research object. The experimental results show that the attenuation characteristic analysis scheme of the concept tree is feasible. In the process of attenuation, the effect of attribute attenuation on the concept structure can be clearly demonstrated. Literature reviews are crucial in the choice of the best personalized material type and restauration type in restorative dentistry. We developed an IBMWatson based system to support literature search for restorative dentistry, and compared its results to a literature search performed by a trained professional. We found that our system could assist the researcher in performing a literature review, but the grounding semantic model needs to be refined in order to provide more extensive results. The proliferation of knowledge graphs and recent advances in Artificial Intelligence have raised great expectations related to the combination of symbolic and distributional semantics in cognitive tasks. This is particularly the case of knowledge-based approaches to natural language processing as near-human symbolic understanding relies on expressive, structured knowledge representations. Engineered by humans, such knowledge graphs are frequently well curated and of high quality, but at the same time can be labor-intensive, brittle or biased. The work reported in this paper aims to address such limitations, bringing together bottom-up, corpus-based knowledge and top-down, structured knowledge graphs by capturing as embeddings in a joint space the semantics of both words and concepts from large document corpora. To evaluate our results, we perform the largest and most comprehensive empirical study around this topic that we are aware of, analyzing and comparing the quality of the resulting embeddings over competing approaches. We include a detailed ablation study on the different strategies and components our approach comprises and show that our method outperforms the previous state of the art according to standard benchmarks. With the increasing complexity of engineered systems, digital twins (DTs) have been widely used to support integrated modeling, simulation, and decision-making of the system of systems (SoS). However, when integrating DTs of each constituent system, it is challenging to implement complexity management, interface definition, and service integration across DTs. This study proposes a new concept called cognitive twin (CT) to support SoS development and operation. CTs have been defined as DTs with augmented semantic capabilities for promoting the understanding of interrelationships be-tween virtual models and enhancing the decision-making. First, CTs aim to integrate the information description of DTs across constituent systems using a unified ontology and semantic modeling technique. Second, CTs provide integrated simulations among DTs for decision-making of the SoS based on a high-level architecture (HLA). Finally, through reasoning ontology models, CTs provide decision-making options for the operations of real constituent systems. A case study on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) landing on unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) is used to verify the flexibility of this approach. From the results, we find that the CT based on the proposed ontology provides a unified formalism of DTs across UAVs and USVs. Moreover, the reasoning based on the CT provides decision-making capabilities for UAVs by implementing cognitive computing to select target USVs for landing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Design and manufacturing sectors are vital agents of an economy. However, multiple challenges influence product designs such as the predicted scarcity of energy and primary materials, the ubiquitous integration of electronic components and computing science in systems' architectures, the pervasive production of data by most systems, the emphasis given to CO2 free energy solutions, recycling, and reuse, the transformation of the consumption model from product ownership to product as a service, as well as the geopolitical conflicts. Major technological advancements leading to transformation in socio-economic practices would be required to address these challenges which can have a profound effect on design and manufacturing activities. This research aims to evaluate the potential impact and modification induced by such transformations on product design process. The research identifies that early design automation can enable coping with unmanageable cognitive load generated by cascading changes. A list of modifications to current design practices is proposed to enable the development of a new generation of design tools. Dysarthria is a speech disorder caused by stroke, Parkinson's disease, neurological injury, or tumors that damage the nervous system and weaken the speech quality. Developing a unique voice command system for Dysarthric speech helps to recognize impaired speech and convert them into text or input commands. Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is one of the widely used generative model-based classifiers for Dysarthric speech recognition. But due to insufficient training data, HMM doesn't provide optimal results on overlapping classes. We propose an ensemble Gaussian mixture model to recognize impaired speech more accurately. Our model converts the sequence of feature vectors into a fixed dimensional representation of patterns with varying lengths. The performance efficiency of the proposed model is evaluated on the Dysarthric UA-speech benchmark dataset. The discriminatory information provided by the proposed approach yields better classification accuracy even for shallow intelligibility words compared to conventional HMM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
