What is Known and Objective: Except for the transmitted drug resistance (TDR)'s standard sampling and monitoring protocol, China's HIV‐1 pretreatment drug resistance (PDR) and acquired drug resistance (ADR) results vary widely due to the studies' diverse background. This meta‐analysis was conducted to comprehensively understand the drug resistance profiles of Chinese HIV/AIDS patients and compare the drug resistance differences among groups to provide a reference for the further improvement of treatment protocols. Methods: Data sources for this study were WANFANG, VIP, CNKI, SinoMed, PubMed and Web of Science databases from January 1, 2010 to January 13, 2022. Data extracted from the literature were analyzed by R and Stata to evaluate the profile and changing trend of drug resistance in Chinese HIV/AIDS patients. Results and Discussion: One hundred twenty‐one literature were included. The combined PDR and ADR in the Chinese HIV/AIDS patients was 5.56% (95% CI: 4.77%–6.41%) and 51.33% (95% CI: 47.57%–55.38%), respectively. The time trend analysis shows the upward trend of PDR. There were significate differences in ADR among different sample sources, the ADR in the central region were higher than those in all other regions. The PDR in men who have sex with men (MSM) was lower the whole population, while the MSM's ADR was much higher than whole population. What is New and Conclusion: PDR in China showed an upward trend and exceeded the 5% warning line but is still at a low level worldwide. ADR is stable and below the middle level globally; the comprehensively promoted free ART in China still has lasting effects. This study is aimed at investigating the awareness of and preferences for oral and long-acting injectable HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and their associated factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) at high risk of HIV infection in southern China. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 603 MSM who were recruited through a cohort study called the T2T Study at three sexual health clinics in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Wuxi, China, from 2017 to 2018. We collected information on HIV-negative participants' awareness of and willingness to use PrEP and its potential correlations. Univariate and multivariate logistic regressions were used for data analyses. A total of 550 HIV-negative MSM were enrolled in the study. Less than half of at-risk MSM (43.1%) had heard of PrEP before, and the rate of overall willingness to use PrEP was 65.8%, while MSM were more willing to use daily oral PrEP than long-acting injectable- (LAI-) PrEP (62.2% vs. 38.5%). MSM who had university degrees or above (aOR = 1.55 , 95% CI: 1.01-2.37), used condoms during last anal sex (1.52, 1.01-2.29), and tested 3 times or more for HIV (2.45, 1.10-5.47) were more likely to be aware of PrEP. MSM who had use of gay dating apps (1.51, 1.02-2.23), ever participated in HIV- or sexually transmitted disease (STD-) related studies (1.91, 1.24-2.94), and had heard of PrEP (3.06, 2.06-4.54) were more willing to use any regimen of PrEP. MSM at high risk of HIV infection had low awareness of PrEP and moderate willingness to use PrEP. Further studies of the implementation and promotion of PrEP targeting at-risk MSM should be performed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Men who have sex with men (MSM) are at risk of contracting the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Previous studies have documented low uptake of sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevention and health services among Chinese MSM. We carried out qualitative research among MSM in Southwest China. By taking the Health Brief Model (HBM) as a framework, we aimed to determine the underlying factors related to use of HCV health intervention services among MSM. From May to July 2018, we conducted in‐depth interviews in Southwest China with 20 participants. Our research revealed that a lack of knowledge about HCV prevention was the main reason why MSM failed to perceive their susceptibility to HCV and had low motivation to seek preventive services. Poor service accessibility and unpleasant experiences seeing doctors also exerted negative influences on health care‐seeking behaviour in MSM. More trust and understanding needs to be built between health providers and MSM. Protection of privacy for MSM should be guaranteed in the delivery of health interventions. In addition, the interviewees showed refusal to engage with health interventions being specifically targeted at MSM, which would create a sense of being 'labelled'. Tailored health interventions may overemphasise their sexuality, segregate them from heterosexuals, and make them feel alienated. Objective. The Chinese men who have sex with men (MSM) population is suffering from a high HIV infection rate owing to unprotected anal sex. The Health Belief Model (HBM) has been proven to be an effective frame associated with behavior maintenance. Based on HBM, we analyzed the beliefs associated with consistent condom use behavior with regular and nonregular partners among MSM to better provide targeted interventions and services. Methods. A study was conducted in Sichuan Province, China, from November 2018 to April 2019, and 801 eligible participants were recruited by snowball sampling. Sociodemographic characteristics, AIDS-related characteristics, sexual behaviors, condom use behavior, and dimensions of HBM were investigated. Univariate, single multivariate, and summary multivariate models were employed to analyze the factors associated with consistent condom use. Results. Of all participants, 39.1% and 53.6% had had anal sex with regular and nonregular partners in the last six months, respectively. Only 56.5% of them had used condoms consistently with regular partners, and only 60% of them had used condoms consistently with nonregular partners. When taking consistent condoms use with regular partners as the dependent variable, the dimensions of perceived threats (ORM = 1.28 , 95% CI: 1.10, 1.49), perceived barriers (ORM = 0.70 , 95% CI: 0.60, 0.82), self-efficacy (ORM = 1.23 , 95% CI: 1.14, 1.32), and cues to action (ORM = 1.21 , 95% CI: 1.02, 1.43) showed significant associations with the dependent variable. When taking consistent condoms use with nonregular partners as the dependent variable, the dimensions of perceived barriers (ORM = 0.77 , 95% CI: 0.67, 0.89), self-efficacy (ORM = 1.22 , 95% CI: 1.13, 1.32), and cues to action (ORM = 1.53 , 95% CI: 1.30, 1.80) showed significant associations with the dependent variable. Conclusions. More attention should be focused on how to decrease the obstructive factors of condom use, how to improve the confidence of condom use, and how to layout more cues to action to promote consistent condom use behavior with regular and nonregular partners during anal sex among Chinese MSM. In recent years, the prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection among Chinese university students has increased significantly, and HIV transmission among men who have sex with men (MSM) comprises more than half of the new cases. There is still a lack of research investigating the incidence of male-to-male sex, the attitudes towards MSM, and the awareness of HIV/AIDS among university students in Guangxi, one of the HIV high-risk areas in China. Therefore, we performed a cross-sectional investigation among 578 male students, recruited by stratified sampling, in universities in Nanning, Guangxi, between January 2016 and March 2017. Researcher-administered anonymous questionnaires were completed. Self-recognition as MSM was found in 8.48% of the subjects. Compared with non-MSM, university student MSM included more people over the age of 20 (OR = 4.95), had less migration from other districts of Guangxi (OR = 0.26), and the majority were nonmedical students (OR = 8.99). In total, 63.25% of the male student participants reported a lack of acceptance of MSM, while 35.47% acknowledged barriers between themselves and acquaintances who were MSM. Overall, 67.30% of the subjects correctly answered questions related to AIDS knowledge. The proportion of MSM subjects who answered the AIDS-related questions completely correctly was significantly lower than that of non-MSM subjects (42.86% vs. 69. 57%, respectively, OR: 0.33), but the self-recognition risk of MSM was significantly higher than that of non-MSM (OR = 2.59). Risky behaviors associated with HIV infections, including smoking, alcohol consumption, drug abuse, and inconsistent condom use, were significantly higher among the MSM participants. The percentages of student's willingness to accept MC and PrEP were 70.93% and 77.51%, respectively. These results raise the alarm that university student MSM in Guangxi, China, require urgent public attention and more effective health education, including the education on MC and PrEP. Objectives. To understand the current risk of HIV infection and transmission and further elucidate the underlying risk factors among men who have sex with men and women (MSMW) in China. Methods. Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of searching through Chinese and English available literature databases between January 2000 and June 2014 to identify articles. Results. Thirty-six articles (including 19,730 MSMW and 53,536 MSMO) met the selection criteria and the aggregated results found that MSMW have significantly higher HIV prevalence than MSMO (6.6% versus 5.4%, OR = 1.27, 95% CI = 1.01–1.58). A higher proportion of MSMW had commercial male partners in the past 6 months (18.3% versus 12.2%, OR = 1.56, 95% CI = 1.01–2.42). Additionally, substance use in the past 6 months was significantly more frequent among MSMW than MSMO (alcohol use: 27.1% versus 13.1%, OR = 2.53, 95% CI = 2.14–2.99; illicit drug use: 5.3% versus 2.5%, OR = 2.09, 95% CI = 1.48–2.95). Conclusion. A higher proportion of commercial sex and substance use among MSMW may be a potentially indicative factor for significantly higher HIV prevalence compared to MSMO. Targeted interventions should aim at increasing the frequency of HIV/STIs screening and preventing high risk commercial sex and substance use among MSMW to decrease their HIV transmission to the general population.
