The two-volume set CCIS 2222 and 2223 constitutes the proceedings of the 11th Workshop on Engineering Applications, WEA 2024, which took place in Barranquilla, Colombia, during October 23–25, 2024. A flor de cuerpo reúne ensayos sobre las representaciones del género y de las disidencias sexo-genéricas en Latinoamérica en el campo cultural (literatura, cine, cómic, teatro, música, fanzines, artes y artivismos) y los movimientos sociales. Pretende hacerse desde el Sur y para el Sur, a la vez que alimenta los también necesarios diálogos Sur-Norte y Norte-Sur. Las investigaciones abordan el trabajo de artistas y activistas latinoamericanxs queer, feministas y/o antirracistas como una comunidad transnacional y heterogénea. El libro, con un enfoque interseccional, pretende visibilizar las condiciones concretas en las que viven las mujeres y la disidencia sexo-genérica en Latinoamérica, discutir sus múltiples estrategias de resistencia y sus contradiscursos para eludir los mecanismos de opresión específicos de la región, resultantes de una mezcla de fuerzas allí presentes: el efecto prolongado de la colonialidad (del poder, del saber y del género) y el racismo subyacente, estructuras patriarcales locales, antiguas o inventadas, o aun las diversas mezclas culturales que, a lo largo del tiempo, produjeron dinámicas propias irrepetibles en otras partes del mundo.

This book presents novel communication technology solutions to address the effects of climate change and climate variability on agriculture, with a particular focus on those that increase agricultural production. México-Estados Unidos, Estados Unidos-México, la vecindad desigual, la mansión junto a la choza, la superpotencia junto al tercer mundo, la pérfida Albión junto a la España fracasada, la nación de las ideas y el trabajo, junto a la nación de las tristezas y el sentimiento. En la historia de la humanidad, pocas veces se ve una vecindad y relación tan desigual. Qué la provocó. Éste es el objetivo de este libro: intentar explicarlo a través de la Historia de ambas naciones, vista desde la conquista por dos culturas diferentes. Estoy consciente de que la ambición de lograrlo es, por decir lo menos, demasiado grande. Llegar al fondo en la historia para comprender mejor a ambos pueblos es el intento y sé que quedará precisamente en eso, un intento, un bosquejo, una aportación que por inconclusa requerirá de un análisis a fondo y provocará los comentarios más disímiles. Rasgarán sus vestiduras los patrioteros y los nacionalistas a ultranza, sintiéndose “indios” por un momento, sintiéndose dueños de la tierra y abominando de todo lo español, aun cuando en sus pláticas manejen la presunción del abuelo de Huelva, el tío malagueño, el tatarabuelo madrileño o incluso de cualquier otra nacionalidad, comentándolo con un dejo de falso y estúpido orgullo. Se ofenderá España y dirá “crímenes son del tiempo no de España”; recordará la “madre patria” que nos dio su cultura, a costa de destruir otra; nos aportó una nueva religión, sin tomar en cuenta su aporte a nuestra sumisión. Since the publication of the still very valuable Biblioteca histórica de la filología by Cipriano Muñoz y Manzano, conde de la Viñaza (Madrid, 1893), our knowledge of the history of the study of the Spanish language has grown considerably, and most manuscript and secondary sources had never been tapped before Hans-Josef Niederehe of the University of Trier courageously undertook the task to bring together any available bibliographical information together with much more recent research findings, scattered in libraries, journals and other places. The resulting Bibliografía cronológica de la lingüística, la gramática y la lexicografía del español: Desde los principios hasta el año 1600 (BICRES) began appearing in 1994. BICRES I covered the period from the early beginnings to 1600), followed by BICRES II (1601–1700), BICRES III (1701–1800), and together with Miguel Ángel Esparza Torres of Madrid there followed BICRES IV (1801 to 1860). Now, the fifth volume, has become available, covering the years from 1861 to 1899. Access to the bibliographical information of altogether 5,272 titles is facilitated by several detailed indexes, such as a short title index, a listing of printers, publishers and places of production, and an author index.More than twenty years of research in the major libraries of Spain and other European countries have gone into this unique work — relative sources of the Americas have also been covered — making it exhaustive source for any serious scholar of any possible aspect of the Spanish language.

Au début des années 1980, Arlette Gautier et Marie-France Labrecque menaient leurs premières recherches au nord de l'Etat du Yutacan auprès des femmes autochtones mayas, la première sur des questions de santé reproductive, la deuxième s'intéressant davantage à l'intégration de ces femmes au marché du travail. Pendant les trente années suivantes, toutes deux ont approfondi leur intérêt pour ces dimensions complémentaires du développement économique et social, que ce soit au Mexique ou ailleurs dans le monde. Au milieu des années 2000, elles ont toutes deux décidé d'entreprendre des recherches qui feraient le suivi de celles qu'elles avaient menées auparavant, mais qui, grâce aux éclairages de l'approche féministe de l'intersectionnalité, donneraient un nouveau relief conceptuel et méthodologique à l'interprétation des changements sociaux que connaissent les populations autochtones de l'Etat du Yucatan, et les femmes en particulier.

The two-volume set LNAI 7094 and 7095 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, MICAI 2011, held in Puebla, Mexico, in November/December 2011. The 96 revised papers presented were carefully selected from XXX submissions. The second volume contains 46 papers focusing on soft computing. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: fuzzy logic, uncertainty and probabilistic reasoning; evolutionary algorithms and other naturally-inspired algorithms; data mining; neural networks and hybrid intelligent systems; and computer vision and image processing.

The papers in this volume comprise the refereed proceedings of the conference ‘ Artificial Intelligence in Theory and Practice'(IFIP AI 2008), which formed part of the 20th World Computer Congress of IFIP, the International Federation for Information Processing (WCC-2008), in Milan, Italy in September 2008. The conference is organised by the IFIP Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence (Technical Committee 12) and its Working Group 12.5 (Artificial Intelligence Applications). All papers were reviewed by at least two members of our Program Committee. Final decisions were made by the Executive Program Committee, which comprised John Debenham (University of Technology, Sydney, Australia), Ilias Maglogiannis (University of Aegean, Samos, Greece), Eunika Mercier-Laurent (KIM, France) and myself. The best papers were selected for the conference, either as long papers (maximum 10 pages) or as short papers (maximum 5 pages) and are included in this volume. The international nature of IFIP is amply reflected in the large number of countries represented here. The conference also featured invited talks by Prof. Nikola Kasabov (Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand) and Prof. Lorenza Saitta (University of Piemonte Orientale, Italy). The abundance of information and increase in computing power currently enable researchers to tackle highly complicated and challenging computational problems. Solutions to such problems are now feasible using advances and innovations from the area of Artificial Intelligence. The general focus of the AIAI conference is to provide insights on how Artificial Intelligence may be applied in real-world situations and serve the study, analysis and modeling of theoretical and practical issues. This volume contains papers selected for presentation at the 6th IFIP Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications and Innovations (AIAI 2010) and held in Larnaca, Cyprus, during October 6–7, 2010. IFIP AIAI 2010 was co-organized by the University of Cyprus and the Cyprus University of Technology and was sponsored by the Cyprus University of Technology, Frederick University and the Cyprus Tourism Organization. AIAI 2010 is the official conference of the WG12.5 “Artificial Intel- gence Applications” working group of IFIP TC12, the International Federation for Information Processing Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence (AI). AIAI is a conference that grows in significance every year attracting researchers from different countries around the globe. It maintains high quality, standards and welcomes research papers describing technical advances and engineering and ind- trial applications of intelligent systems. AIAI 2010 was not confined to introducing how AI may be applied in real-life situations, but also included innovative methods, techniques, tools and ideas of AI expressed at the algorithmic or systemic level.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Flexible Query Answering Systems, FQAS 2009, held in Roskilde, Denmark, in October 2009. The 57 papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 90 submissions. They are structured in topical sections on database management, information retrieval, extraction and mining, ontologies and semantic web, intelligent information extraction from texts, advances in fuzzy querying, personalization, preferences, context and recommendation, and Web as a stream.

th CICLing 2009 markedthe 10 anniversary of the Annual Conference on Intel- gent Text Processing and Computational Linguistics. The CICLing conferences provide a wide-scope forum for the discussion of the art and craft of natural language processing research as well as the best practices in its applications. This volume contains?ve invited papers and the regular papers accepted for oral presentation at the conference. The papers accepted for poster presentation were published in a special issue of another journal (see the website for more information). Since 2001, the proceedings of CICLing conferences have been published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science series, as volumes 2004, 2276, 2588, 2945, 3406, 3878, 4394, and 4919.
