Verfassungen stellten »die« politische Antwort auf die Atlantischen Revolutionen der Jahrzehnte um 1800 dar. Diese Studie analysiert die Vorstellungswelten, Erwartungshaltungen und Argumentationsmuster der Abgeordneten der mexikanischen Region Michoacán bei der Institutionalisierung einer neuen Ordnung. Dabei ermöglicht die konsequent regionale Perspektive den Zugriff als »alltags- und akteurszentrierten Ideengeschichte«. Die Welt ist alles, was wir in unseren naturwissenschaftlichen Theorien beschreiben können – so eine weit verbreitete Überzeugung, die seit den Tagen des Positivismus unser Weltbild bestimmt. Aber reicht das tatsächlich schon aus? Wer sich am Ideal der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnis orientiert, neigt dazu, viele nicht-begriffliche Erfahrungsformen zu unterschlagen, die uns aus dem Alltag vertraut sind: Symbolsysteme wie Musik, Literatur oder Bilder, Instanzen der unmittelbaren Erfahrung wie Anschauung, Wahrnehmung oder Gefühl und den Bereich des praktischen Könnens. In der Regel sind wir nicht in der Lage, den Gehalt dieser Phänomene vollständig begrifflich wiederzugeben. Reviews are an important aspect of scholarly discussion because they help filter out which works are relevant in the yearly flood of publications and are thus influential in determining how a work is received. The IBR, published again since 1971 as an interdisciplinary, international bibliography of reviews, it is a unique source of bibliographical information. The database contains entries on over 1.2 million book reviews of literature dealing primarily with the humanities and social sciences published in 6,820, mainly European scholarly journals. Reviews of more than 560,000 scholarly works are listed. The database increases every year by 60,000 entries. Judicial reform became an important part of the agenda for development in Latin America early in the 1980s, when countries in the region started the process of democratization. Connections began to be made between judicial performance and market-based growth, and development specialists turned their attention to “second generation” institutional reforms. Although considerable progress has been made already in strengthening the judiciary and its supporting infrastructure (police, prosecutors, public defense counsel, the private bar, law schools, and the like), much remains to be done. Linn Hammergren's book aims to turn the spotlight on the problems in the movement toward judicial reform in Latin America over the past two decades and to suggest ways to keep the movement on track toward achieving its multiple, though often conflicting, goals. After Part I's overview of the reform movement's history since the 1980s, Part II examines five approaches that have been taken to judicial reform, tracing their intellectual origins, historical and strategic development, the roles of local and international participants, and their relative success in producing positive change. Part III builds on this evaluation of the five partial approaches by offering a synthetic critique aimed at showing how to turn approaches into strategies, how to ensure they are based on experiential knowledge, and how to unite separate lines of action.

La colección'Bibliografías de Historia de España'(BIHES), ha venido publicando desde 1992 una serie de cuadernos bibliográficos que pretenden aportar a la comunidad de historiadores una ayuda documental para la investigación de nuestro pasado histórico. El nº 13 que ahora presentamos sobre la historiografía del carlismo, recoge 2059 referencias de las monografías, compilaciones, artículos de revistas, actas de Congresos y tesis doctorales publicados entre 1973 y 2005. Hemos optado por esta cobertura cronológica, al pretender que nuestra recopilación sea continuación de la obra de Jaime del Burgo:'Bibliografía del Siglo XIX. Guerras carlistas. Luchas políticas. Revisada y puesta a punto con las publicaciones que ha visto la luz hasta el año 1975 inclusive'. La razón de iniciar nuestra recogida a partir de 1973 es para dejar un margen a posibles omisiones del autor. Su fallecimiento, cuando esta obra estaba culminándose, nos obliga a considerarla como un homenaje póstumo a la memoria de tan insigne bibliógrafo. No es nuestro cometido analizar aquí la incuestionable importancia del carlismo en la Historia de España contemporánea, ni tampoco hemos pretendido realizar una selección valorativa o crítica de la producción sobre el tema, por lo que aquí conviven trabajos de muy distinto valor historiográfico, y en muy diversos tipos documentales. Nuestra intención es solamente poner al alcance del especialista una bibliografía hasta ahora dispersa y en ocasiones desconocida, que le permita disponer de un recurso de consulta útil para futuras investigaciones.

Grundlage der vorliegenden Bibliographie sind die 29 Bände der Bibliographischen Berichte, die als universaler Nachweis von Bibliographien von 1959 bis 1987 erschienen sind. Ziel der Internationalen Bibliographie der Bibliographien 1959-1988 ist es, den Gesamtdatenbestand in kumulierter Form leicht zugänglich zu machen. Die Titel sind in einer einheitlichen Systematik nach Themengebieten zusammengefasst. Insgesamt werden ca. 176.000 Titel erschlossen. Bibliothekaren, Dokumentaren und Informationsvermittlern wird mit den Bibliographien der zweiten Stufe ein wichtiges Hilfsmittel für die Selektion und Wertung von Bibliographien an die Hand gegeben.
