This book constitutes thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the workshops of the 19th International Conference on Parallel Computing, Euro-Par 2013, held in Aachen, Germany in August 2013. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Artificial Evolution, EA 2013, held in Bordeaux, France, in October 2013. The 20 revised papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 39 submissions. The papers are focused to theory, ant colony optimization, applications, combinatorial and discrete optimization, memetic algorithms, genetic programming, interactive evolution, parallel evolutionary algorithms, and swarm intelligence.

The European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information (ESSLLI) is organized every year by the Association for Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI) in different sites around Europe. The main focus of ESSLLI is on the interface between linguistics, logic and computation. ESSLLI offers foundational, introductory and advanced courses, as well as workshops, covering a wide variety of topics within the three areas of interest: Language and Computation, Language and Logic, and Logic and Computation. The 16 papers presented in this volume have been selected among 44 papers presented by talks or posters at the Student Sessions of the 24th and 25th editions of ESSLLI, held in 2012 in Opole, Poland, and 2013 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The papers are extended versions of the versions presented, and have all been subjected to a second round of blind peer review.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 10th International Workshop on Graphics Recognition, GREC 2013, held in Bethlehem, PA, USA, in August 2013.The 20 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 32 initial submissions. Graphics recognition is a subfield of document image analysis that deals with graphical entities in engineering drawings, sketches, maps, architectural plans, musical scores, mathematical notation, tables, and diagrams. Accordingly the conference papers are organized in 5 topical sessions on symbol spotting and retrieval, graphics recognition in context, structural and perceptual based approaches, low level processing, and performance evaluation and ground truthing.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th China Workshop on Machine Translation, CWMT 2016, held in Urumqi, China, in August 2016. The 10 English papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 76 submissions. They deal with statistical machine translation, hybrid machine translation, machine translation evaluation, post editing, alignment, and inducing bilingual knowledge from corpora.

This book presents the thoroughly refereed and revised post-workshop proceedings of the 19th Monterey Workshop, held in Beijing, China, in Ocotber 2016. The workshop explored the challenges associated with the Development, Operation and Management of Large-Scale complex IT Systems. The 18 revised full papers presented were significantly extended and improved by the insights gained from the productive and lively discussions at the workshop, and the feedback from the post-workshop peer reviews. 2016 marks the 23rd anniversary for the Monterey Workshop series which started in 1993. The 42 revised full papers presented together with 4 revised short papers and 8 poster descriptions were carefully reviewed and selected from 92 submissions. They cover a wide range of topics in two main tracks: combinatorial and algorithmic aspects, and visualization systems and interfaces. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 12th International Meeting on Computational Intelligence Methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, CIBB 2015, held in Naples, Italy, in September, 2015. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First ECML PKDD Workshop, AALTD 2015, held in Porto, Portugal, in September 2016. The 11 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 22 submissions. The first part focuses on learning new representations and embeddings for time series classification, clustering or for dimensionality reduction. The second part presents approaches on classification and clustering with challenging applications on medicine or earth observation data. These works show different ways to consider temporal dependency in clustering or classification processes. The last part of the book is dedicated to metric learning and time series comparison, it addresses the problem of speeding-up the dynamic time warping or dealing with multi-modal and multi-scale metric learning for time series classification and clustering.
