Abstract

The article discusses the introduction of N+3 engine design space for fuel-efficient commercial aircraft. Topics include the goals of the system which is on the reduction in aircraft fuel consumption, the challenge that the system faces is on the achievement of overall pressure ratio (OPR) while maintaining high efficiency levels, and the configuration offered by the system to MIT D8 aircraft to address the l-in-20 rule of Federal Aviation Administration.
