According to a study by Gartner Research, generative artificial intelligence (genAI) tools are expected to be adopted by half of all enterprise software engineers by 2027. Currently, only about 5% of enterprise software engineers use genAI tools, but this number is expected to grow rapidly due to high software demand and the limitations of existing developers. AI-based code generation tools can significantly increase developer productivity, but they do not eliminate the need for human developers as they can still produce errors and cannot create unique code. Additionally, AI assistants are emerging as accelerators, boosting developer productivity and enabling "citizen" developers to quickly create apps. [Extracted from the article]
